you know, I got to tell you something, man, I'm
really happy for the PAC twelve having a team like
(01:41):
Colorado in its conference because with all the attention that
Dion Sanders is brought back to the program, the prestige
you saw the spring game, the buzz, the discussion, other
coaches and other conferences are talking about it. It's about
time the Pac twelve caught themselves a break, you know,
with the UCLA and USC leaving. At least yeah, at
(02:02):
least Colorado's in the conference and bringing back some buzz
to the conference. Who should be announcing there? What time
is it their meteorites deals sometime in the near future?
What was that last week of the week before? But nonetheless,
oh never mind, reports are saying Colorado's going to be
on their way to the Big twelve instead. Okay, just
(02:22):
was curious how that happened and how that sort of
panned out for the entire conference as a whole. The
reports out there is that Colorado's going to receive a
little over thirty one dollars when they enter the Big Twelve,
which is reportedly going to take place next season, so
obviously not this season. And if these reports are yes,
(02:43):
and if these reports are true, that Colorado will give
the Pack twelve at least one year and then they'll
be on their way back to the Big twelve, where
they probably never should have left to begin with. So
have fun with that. What's the buzz there in Indianapolis
at Big ten and media Days? Brady Quinn.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
Yeah, so obviously this came out last night. Now, some
of us, especially been at the PAC twelve media days,
kind of got wind of this last week. And the
thought is it just it makes more geographical sense. I mean,
there's a thought with some Colorado purists that they never
should have left the Big twelve, even back when it
(03:22):
was the Big Eight in the first place, that at
that point in time they felt like that was what
was in the best interest of Colorado, but some would
define it as a mistake. And so this now gets
Colorado back into a conference they're familiar with. I think
they're hoping to have a greater ground and ability to
recruit the state of Texas.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
And lastly, it's more money. I mean, that's the reality
of it is.
Speaker 5 (03:46):
We can talk about the Pack twelve media rights still
you just joked about the truth of the matter is
we don't know what they're going to sign for, but
I'd have to imagine it's less than the number that
Colorado's gonna get from moving to the Big twelve.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
And it's going to be less money for the Pack.
Now that there's another team leaving, it's less. It's got
to be less financial leverage, more and more for the Pack.
I mean, is there any other way to look at
the PAC twelve other than doomed? Like I think that's it.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
It's a wrap. It was already.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
I felt like the moment they lost uh U, C,
l A, and USC to the Big ten that it
was already like the day of reckoning was already on
its way. I mean, what what else? What else is left? Oh,
another team leaves, goes to another conference. I just I
(04:43):
think there's going to be other teams. There's I mean,
you don't think there's it's maybe entertaining it well, going
somewhere else.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
The truth of the matter is you've I think everyone
probably looks at their options and our teams. It's a
it's a byproduct of the economics. Okay that the TV
rights media deals are largely what drives this.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
But what you have to ask yourself if you were.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
A conference or if you're one of those TV networks,
you know, why would you want to pay more for
a brand that you might already have the rights to,
right And if you're one of those schools in the conference,
why would you want to bring in another brand? It's
going to take away from your piece of the pie
unless one of two things they're going to help elevate
(05:28):
that conference because they're going to bring in more viewership,
or they're going to take less to come in. Right,
they might take a half rights fee as apposed as
opposed to one hundred percent, So round numbers, right, if
you're getting sixty million a year, maybe you'd rather take
thirty And the problem with that is is it directly
(05:49):
correlates to the fact that they're obviously not getting that
much money somewhere else. And if they're going to take
a half rights fee for you know, whatever period of
time before they become a full member. They're they're sitting
there and telling you, we're willing to take the thirty
million dollars on the table that this conference is offering
us as opposed to whatever your media rights deal may be.
(06:12):
So I think there's a lot of thoughts. You know,
Oregon and Washington, some of these other schools in the
Pac twelve. Arizona's the one that I would keep an
eye on. You know, these are institutions in schools that
are looking for safe harbor. Like everyone's looking at the
future of their program and how this is going to
shake out. And I think somewhere in the back of
their minds they're looking at the economics of it and
(06:33):
the saying, if we can't make enough money to be
able to fund our athletics program and do so competitively, we.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
Have to look somewhere else.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
And that's essentially what the Big twelve has offered Colorado,
and that's what they're going to potentially offer another team,
because you can't think it's only going to be one.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
They have an odd number of.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
Teams once Colorado enters, so you'd have to bring in
someone else.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
And so i'd keep an eye on, you know.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
Another PAC twelve school joining them, whoever, whoever that may be.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
For the Big twelve, it just goes.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
What's the highest number. What's the highest number it could
be from the PAC twelve? Could it be Arizona, Arizona
State and Oregon? Could it like could it be one
of those other teams like a Utah or a Washington, Like,
what's the number? Because like everybody is pillaging the.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
Pack, right and it's it's tough to know what that
number is because we don't necessarily know if there's going
to be potentially any other movement in any of the
other conferences to the Big Ten or the SEC. There's
there's always those rumors and things floating around about a
Florida State or Miami or Clemson out of the ACC,
wud want to move to the SEC.
Speaker 4 (07:47):
But again, if you're ESPN or Disney in this case,
who holds.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
The rights to both conferences, why would you want to
pay more for a team you already had the rights to.
So the TV network's not behind it, they're not pushing
it the other schools in the SEC.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
If you're missed City State, you don't.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
Want Clemson someone else coming into the to the SEC
and take it up part of you know, your.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
Piece of the pie, and then all of a sudden
knocking you down.
Speaker 5 (08:07):
I mean, you're already trying to struggle to compete anyway,
so why would you want that?
Speaker 4 (08:13):
And so the idea that this expansion.
Speaker 5 (08:15):
Is going to continue, I don't know that I see
it expanding as big and as fast as a lot
of people think. Now, if the PAC twelve just completely
fell apart, that'd be one thing.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
But I think they will be able to negotiate.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
A media rights deal and and you know, the schools
are going to have to make the decisions on what
they want to do, you know, and these other conferences.
They might say, yeah, we're willing to take an Oregon
or Washington if they're going to take, you know, a
fifty percent rights fee. So it all comes down to
the economics of it and how they can make it work.
But the idea that this like expansion is gonna be
(08:49):
all so many teams, you can only make it feasible
for X number of teams, you know, and unless you're
you know, you're willing to get more money for the
media rights.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
And I don't necessarily know that it's going to be
the case.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
But maybe it is the Big twelve that wants to
have the biggest conference, and maybe that's their their plan,
and they say, hey, look, if you're in the Big
ten or SEC, AGC or you know PAC twelve, you
know you come playoffs like we're going to be everyone's
non conference game basically because we have all the other
teams that are in the Power five and then we've
got a competitive conference, you know, playing amongst each other.
You know, that might be the plan that they think
(09:23):
is best moving forward, but that doesn't mean that the
Big ten and SEC are going to fall suit with that.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Outside of the economics of it all, if you just
looked at the optics, it's just another blow and another
slight against the Pac twelve. And you guys have obviously
played football in every you know, I assume in a
lot of different conferences. You've played all over the country.
You've seen it or coached or been around it or
covered it or called games or whatever. It's just becoming
(09:50):
more obvious over the past five six years. And Petros
is coming on next hour and he's been talking about
this as well. Just become more obvious that they're there's
clearly an order of importance on football and athletics in
certain conferences, and the PAC twelve is clearly dead last
amongst the Power fives, and I don't even know if
(10:10):
it's close.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
There's a lot of reasons why though.
Speaker 5 (10:14):
I mean, if you look at the Pack twelve schools,
they tend to have more Olympic sports, more sports in general,
which makes it harder to put as much as many
resources into football, for example, as a school in the SEC.
So that's one thing they kind of have going against
them that hurts them. The leadership of Larry Scott was
awful as a commissioner, and I you know know Larry,
(10:35):
I obviously would run into.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Him often working. He's a nice man.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
He did not do a good job and foreseeing the
future and figuring out distribution of the PAC twelve and
understanding the landscape.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
Of where everything was going. So he put them behind
the eight ball.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
So you can't talk about what's happening without talking about
the economics, because that's that's where that's why they've gotten
to this point. I will say this, you know, I
don't I don't ever get the sense that the culture
on the West Coast, you know, takes into account football
as much as it does in the Midwest, in the South,
(11:10):
in the state of Texas.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
However, you want to find them geographically.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
When I look at and go to those campuses and
see people out tailgating at seven am, I don't see that.
You know, granted when when we're out in the West Coast,
those games aren't as early, but you don't see that
type of crowd. You don't see that type of you know,
desire for it. I mean even high school games and LeVar.
I know, you go out there and coach, but you
(11:35):
go back to my high school at Simon, Ohio. You
get ten thousand every single game, and that's you know,
one of three public tools in.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
The Trinity League. There's one league that's like that, and
that's the Trinity League. You get that, you get that
type of participation. But I get what you're saying.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
And this isn't a knock on the athletes out there,
like I think.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
That's the hard thing about this is the PAC twelve
has the most parody in my opinion, of any of
the Power five conferences this year. They've got unbelievable quarterback play,
they've got great coaches, they have unbelievable teams. I think
top to bottom, you'd say, like the I'm not even sure.
Maybe you'd say, you know, Washington State might be, you know,
(12:15):
towards the bottom, or whoever you.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
Want to throw in that coup. Maybe maybe Arizona.
Speaker 5 (12:19):
Go look in Jane Delauria and then some of the
plays he had last year, Jed Fish and what he's
building in Tucson. You know, go look up in Washington
State and cam Ward who's an absolute studdy quarterback for them.
And I just I think it doesn't matter who you're
talking about. In the Pac twelve, they have as I
guess high of a floor as anyone in college football
as far as the teams, and they beat up on
(12:40):
each other and it's actually been to their own demise
because they haven't been part of the college Football Playoff.
But I mean as far as like the stadiums are
filling them out and all that. You see it from
time to time, but it's not quite the same as
the field that you get the campuses.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
It's not the same environment for the college level. It's
not the same. I mean the intensity of and and
just the feel of what the game presents, game day
experience presents. It's definitely different. There's a on the West Coast,
it's it's more laid back.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
If you go to some of those other regions in
the country, there's almost like a I don't want to
say live or die with this game or with this team,
but there's just a feeling of this is important and
this impacts us if our team loses, and that creates
an anxiety and an intensity in those stadiums that you
can't really match. And you come out to a PAC
(13:35):
twelve game and it's like, eh, well we'll go to
in and out afterwards, like it's just there's no it's
it's just not the same, Like there's no there's no
buzz to it.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
So I mean, I can promise you this from growing
up in Columbus.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
Ohio, the way they feel about Michigan after and people
tend to forget this.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
Michigan's beating the last two years.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
They didn't play during the COVID years, so it's been
four years since Ohio state has known success firsus Michigan,
and you better believe every single Michigan alum Michigan fan
lets them.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
Know about it.
Speaker 5 (14:11):
Like you cross that state line and you go up
north and you're going on a nice little vacation up
in one of those beautiful lakes. They've got Michigan and
you get an Ohio plate. They're gonna let you know.
It's just I'm telling you it's a different way of
life when it comes to football and how it's ingrained
into the culture, into the society of a lot of
those towns, communities and cities.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Yeah, it's uh. And by the way, the odds for
the Big Ten Championship right now dead even Michigan and
Ohio State both plus one sixty five according to our
friends at DraftKings to.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Win the I'll sell you this much.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
You know what, tell me what Penn State's that's because
go put some money on Penn State six.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Is that the team.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
There's some value there. Man, that's a good football seam.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
Listen, I've got enough people. I've got enough people inside
the Big Ten Conference and people in and around that
covered the sport and cover those teams involved. And they're
telling me that Penn State is staring three losses square
in the eyes. And again that's on that's on good authority.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
Three three losses.
Speaker 5 (15:11):
I listen clearly saying Michigan, Ohio State and who's the
other one.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
I mean Illinois, I mean, of course, like what would you.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
I mean, we'll be there week three, big neer and
kickoff will be there.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
For that one.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
I mean, you saw what happen at the goal line
for those two point conversions a couple of years ago.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
That was not last year, Yeah, but it was a.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Couple of years ago. But they're still remnants of that
in the minds of people there.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
There's no I think Jonas had had a bet that
might have come back to get them there.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
And do you know by the way.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
I mean, look, they do, they do. They do get Iowa,
they host them for the white out right, that's the
White Aghandas year. It should be awesome. And then they
do have to go to they have to go to
East Lansing and that's actually excuse me, that's that Ford Field.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Yeah, yeah, that's Ford Field.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
So that could that could be a you know, who knows.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Yeah, it's going to be difficult, man.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
We've got to get Michigan and Ohio State. That's the
We got to get one of them, and.
Speaker 5 (16:06):
That's that's awestly bitch. You need to get both because
that's been James's achilles heel.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
You know since he's been here.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
Yeah, yeah, And I would also say watch out for
Delaware week two.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Yeah, you got to watch out for Delaware.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
It feels like, you know, you should watch when Delaware
comes in town. You should watch both Arringtons.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
Yeah, damn right.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
You sure a little far?
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Yeah, yeah, the real stick city sometimes right. Two Pros
and a Cup of Joe Here on Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jones knocks in the year. Coming up,
we are going to talk about a situation in the
NFL that we've gotten some clarity on and maybe you
feel a little bit more optimistic about one team in
(16:48):
the NFL after you hear this. That's next.
Speaker 6 (16:50):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. Coming
up twenty minutes from now from the Tirak dot Com studios,
we are going to have a discussion about trash talk
and a surprising development in the National Football League. We'll
get into that for you again coming up about twenty
minutes from now here on FSR.
Speaker 7 (17:24):
SO.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
One of the off season stories in the National Football
League has been what the hell's going on with Stefon
Diggs and the Buffalo Bills. All Right, everyone's trying to
figure out are the buildos for real? Have they fallen
off the map? Is at the beginning of the end?
Have they peaked? Why is Stefan Diggs so upset? Why
did he leave a practice a few a couple of
(17:46):
weeks ago or a few weeks ago? What is going
on with Stefon Diggs? He spoke yesterday at training camp
about the situation and also some of these reports that
apparently he wanted to have more influence and say in
the play calling.
Speaker 8 (18:00):
Everybody has family matters. We had a conversation and everything.
It's all as well water on the bridge. Now we're
back at work, and you know, I look at football.
You know, it's kind of hard. It's a business at
the end of the day. But when you go out
there and you fight tooth and now you put a
lot of sweat equity into this thing, it starts to
feel like a family. So for me, I kind of
keep everything in the house, you know what I'm saying.
By the end of the day, we had those conversations.
(18:21):
Everything that we needed to be said was said, and
we talked it out as men everybody involved. For me
to just want more say in the offense, it's crazy
because I play receiver.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
I don't care what play is called.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 8 (18:34):
I can't get air and say call this like it's
a lot of outlandish, obvious things where people were throwing
out there or people were saying, like as far as
like Mike, my role, Like I've been a captain on
this team for three years, There's no question about my
role and who I am as a player, how hard
I work, Like those things never had question marks, and
you can't say the same thing for a lot of
people in the league, Like as a player, who I
(18:56):
am and what I am has always been represented, and
what I do on the consistent paces, how hard I work.
You could see it, and my teammate speak highly about
me in that regard, especially considering I've been a captain
DEMA since I got.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
And then Stefan Diggs. The bills are back. I buy it.
Bills are back. All right, Everything's fine. Water under the bridge.
We are all good here. I've got the bills climbing
back up. My power rankings in the AFC based on
those comments from Stefan Diggs feel better about it.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
Look, why are you being facetious?
Speaker 3 (19:27):
I'm not being facetious. This is what I think happened.
Upon hearing his comments and hearing what he had to say,
I think that last year took a toll on everybody
within the organization. I think they went through a lot
of crap. There was the shooting at the supermarket before
the year. There was the weather issues. They were playing
multiple road games on the you know, in a row
(19:49):
because of all the issues they had with weather. DeMar
Hamlin almost died on the field in a primetime game.
All of that. Josh Allen got banged up at one point,
Von Miller was out of the year. I think it
was a lot happened with that team in one year.
And I think the the odds of all of that
happening again, and all of these circumstances presenting themselves in
(20:12):
a difficult manner for that organization again, if Josh Allen
stays healthy. I still think they're forced to be reckoned
with in the AFC. I think that's what happened. That's
my theory. Okay, you like that, Okay, do something with that.
Speaker 5 (20:26):
Yeah, I mean, I just don't think this is as
big of a storyline as we've kind of made it
off to be. Probably this offseason, you know, I think
there's frustration for a lot of players when the season
doesn't go the way you anticipate, the way everyone in
the outside too is anticipating it. They were the betting favorite,
didn't win the Super Bowl last year, you know, fell
short of I think you know their goal ultimately and
(20:48):
where they are trying to get to, and that happens
for thirty one teams every year. So you know, this offseason,
I don't know if you know, maybe they fielded some
calls if you was just scruntle or had some issues.
But he's got a hard contract to trade. That's the
first thing. And the second thing is is it's just
a filling out. Now you get Ken Dorsey going into
(21:09):
year two as their play caller. They'll only get better
from here. And I think they added some pieces that
should help take pressure off of Stefan Diggs. You know,
Dalton kin Kaid is the type of tight end that
can stretch the field vertically. There's some folks that believe
he's similar in the respect to Travis Kelcey as far
(21:30):
as his route running ability. I don't know that he's
got as much wiggle as Kelsey does, but he definitely
can can stretch the field vertically, and it just takes
a lot of pressure off the guys in the outside
when you've got someone who could be right around the
middle of the ball that you've got to focus on.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
So, I mean, I don't really have much on this
for you.
Speaker 5 (21:48):
This isn't you know, to be one of the bigger
storylines in the NFL this season.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
I would say I think it could be. I think
it could be in the sense that coming coming into
this season during during the what was it the mini
camps when when this it seemed like there were still
flare ups taking place. The first thing I couldn't understand
(22:14):
and first question asked was how is Stefan still upset?
Speaker 4 (22:20):
Like?
Speaker 1 (22:20):
How is there still beef? Now? Is it was it
new upset? Maybe something took place that was all together
different than than how he left it when he left
that that loss after the playoff game. You know, I
don't know, but I was. It just made you curious.
And and again, I think the first thing, the first
(22:41):
conclusion that you can jump to and draw, is that
he was frustrated in how he was being used. And
I think that if you're going to have more more
drama over it coming into a new season altogether, I
felt like the only conclusion without any more context, the
only conclusion you could draw really is that he's probably
(23:04):
frustrated that something has not changed and hasn't changed in
significance to his role or what he believes can make
him help him be more successful. And if that's the case,
if he's bothered by that, but he said, listen, this
is like a family. I want to keep it in house.
(23:25):
That doesn't mean that if something doesn't go the way
that he would like for it to go, that this
doesn't pop back up. And I think that if it
were to pop back up, I think it could become
a storyline of significance. Because again I'm not convinced. I'm
just I'm gonna continue to ride that train until it
(23:48):
goes off the rails. I'm not so sure that maybe
Buffalo could have possibly hit their ceiling.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Ooh, possibly they hit they hit their head on the ceiling.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
Is this because naim Hins they got an attacked? Is
this because name Hines was attacked on the jet ski?
Is that what you're trying to say?
Speaker 4 (24:09):
Maybe?
Speaker 1 (24:10):
I mean, where did that come from? I don't know
where that even came from? Like who sent that jet
ski to take out name Himes?
Speaker 3 (24:20):
How they're climbing up my power rankings as this segment
goes along.
Speaker 5 (24:24):
That's that's exactly what what we did this segment for. Yeah,
the digs contract. By the way, he's under contract through
twenty twenty seven, so so take that into account.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
You can't move on from him.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
If there was ever an issue in regards to cutting them,
the dead cap would be almost forty six million dollars.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
It really it take.
Speaker 5 (24:44):
It'd be a couple of years, which makes him you know, look,
he's a he's a decent He's not as big of
a cap hit this year, but he will be the
rest of his contract basically. I mean he'll be making
upwards of twenty eight twenty nine. I mean there's some
big numbers in the rest his contracts. So they are
the Bills are tied into Stefan Diggs. You know he is,
(25:06):
you know they they when they brought him on board,
they signed him to a deal that makes him a
Buffalo Bill for the foreseeable future. And so if there
is any beef, if there's any issues, like they need
to figure it out, because again, he's extremely well paid
and his contract is structured in a way that it'd
be hard to cut him, and it'd be hard to
trade him because you probably have to rework that contract.
(25:28):
So outside of him being under contract for so long,
and another team would you know, obviously want to take
a guy who's under contract for you know, four more years,
five more years. They could rework some of the numbers,
but again it's it's a big contract to absorb.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
And also, if you're a wide receiver, how many other
situations are better than Buffalo for you in the league,
Like he didn't like Minican, you're playing with one.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
Of the best quarterbacks.
Speaker 5 (25:50):
Yeah right, I mean it's it's there's a number of
them out there, and he's obviously in that position and
he's not a roster and a team.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
That I think we'd all agree would be is one
of the best in the FL.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Yeah, yeah, and uh, they're gonna have to prove it though. No,
they've proved it for the Bills.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
Yeah, I mean, listen, they're gonna be They're going to
be competitive in the a f C East. That's gonna
be a fun division to watch. That's probably that's the
best division in football. I would say, do you say
that's the best division in football right now?
Speaker 1 (26:20):
That way and the most the best to.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
Watch, although we did say that about the a f
C West last year and they boned us. Yeah that
was nice. Yeah, damn yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
You know what I mean? Yeah, that's a coaching term.
Like it's a coaching term, right, I.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
Don't know, Yeah, but what does that coaching term mean?
They boned us?
Speaker 1 (26:40):
You know, it's like you got you got forearmed, you
got boned. You know that? That was Meil Blunt's nickname
bone you know bone? You did you?
Speaker 5 (26:52):
Did you use that verbage last night? Was that part
of any of the stories?
Speaker 4 (26:58):
Broke the chair? Broke the chair?
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (27:02):
That chair.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
No, I can't say I boned the chair because I
did not hit it with my forearm. I hit it
with my back, backed back. I broke I broke.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
My back do they have do they have LeVar Islands
out there? And are you in Jersey or.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Yes, I'm in Jersey, And yes there were plenty. I
told you at the beginning of the show there were
a ton of Long Islands.
Speaker 4 (27:32):
Not one, not one, not three, not four, not five,
can not.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
Five.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
That's what.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
You know.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
What you know today though today?
Speaker 3 (27:51):
But what happened to not drinking during the week? I
thought you had cut on.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
I've been on, I've been on the road. The only
time you've heard let me drinking is because I've been
on the road.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
Yeah, and then that it's just water.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
I mean, it's water during the week, and I have
I have got to drink water today like it is
a one hundred must, Like I gotta go get like
a big old those big gallon jug Yeah, I gotta
take one down today. Yeah. Yeah, I have neglected myself
in the water category. You know.
Speaker 4 (28:24):
I was.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
Sam brought up a good point a second ago that
you're not far from Long Island, so much like the
Buffalo wings are better in Buffalo, which, by the way,
I don't know if you guys heard of climbing up
my power rankings are the bills. But much like the
Buffalo wings are better in Buffalo, So that are the
Long Islands better in Long Island.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
I'm not in Long Island.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
I'm in New Jersey, I know, but you're not far
from Long Island according to.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
Well, don't get me started on that.
Speaker 5 (28:49):
I mean, because like Queens is technically Long Island, but
a lot of New York folks will be like, Nope,
it's its own thing.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
I'm like, I get it.
Speaker 5 (28:56):
But when you look at a map, it's like, all right,
it's kind of part of it, you know.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
I just wonder, you know, if there's a difference in
the quality.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
I think we should go there just to find out.
Let's do In fact, I think we should figure out
what place, what establishment made the first Long Island.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
Yep, look, we.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Should go there.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
I'm more interested in which one made the first LeVar Island.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
Great point.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Yeah, that's a great point. That's that's Zimbie's and Harrisburg.
What up, Zimbies, Yeah, that Zimbi's. Yep, I enjoy it.

and a half Jesus Dang. He lives in Maui and
he like brushes his teeth with weed. He's like a
huge problem.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
I don't have a problem with the album with that
man's lifestyle.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
Have you ever heard that he Willie Nelson hangs out
with like Don Nelson and some other guy, Woody Harrelson,
and they all hang out and like.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
They're hut And did you say Don Martin?
Speaker 3 (32:32):
No, not Don Martin. Nothing I'm aware of I'm not
aware of it.
Speaker 4 (32:40):
Dog, What up do you have?
Speaker 1 (32:42):
I mean, Willie Nelson has got to be like ninety
years old.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
Yeah, Lee, we looked that up. How old is Willie Nelson?
Two pros and had a big Uh?
Speaker 9 (32:53):
He had a big concert this year. A lot of
people came out for his birthday party.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
He really is ninety years old. Wow?
Speaker 4 (33:00):
No, Lee, are you a big William Nelson fan?
Speaker 9 (33:04):
No, not necessarily, but I'm not a not against him,
but he Uh, he makes the rotation when you're at Margaritaville,
I think every once in a while.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
Yeah, of course. I wonder if you smoke that much weed,
can you drink Margarita's. That seems like a bad idea.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
Oh, yes, you can get which.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
By the way, I was just talking with Sam.
Speaker 9 (33:22):
He remembers coming to Margaritaville with me.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
And Todd once.
Speaker 10 (33:25):
Yep, first time I've ever been to a Margaritaville and
I love I enjoyed it a lot. Good food we had,
like these raspberry blue margarita's. They're great. Did you just
say good food? I think I did. Okay, maybe I
was in toxic.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
What about your company was a good company?
Speaker 10 (33:44):
Yeah, Me and Todd and Lee we all had a
bash and we went to go see Top Gun Maverick.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
It's a great day.
Speaker 5 (33:51):
How would you describe Todd and then how would you
describe Lee and Todd's relationship?
Speaker 10 (33:58):
I don't know. Maybe together there are tweetled e and
tweel dumb at times. But we had a good time. Wow,
I was thinking of at I was thinking of a
better analogy.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
Or which was tweeted dumb?
Speaker 4 (34:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
Todd.
Speaker 10 (34:13):
Todd's a character and we've I've hung out with him
a couple of times, and he's a We all.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
Have a good time. We have good time. Yeah, that
was a bad I'm sorry, that was a bad tweet
name call. Not that's not fair, it's disrespectful. What are you,
Mac Jones?
Speaker 4 (34:28):
Good?
Speaker 3 (34:28):
And speaking of which, uh, Before we get to that segue,
let's go ahead let everybody know we are brought to
you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable.

who has made a decision on who their quarterback will
(34:51):
be moving forward. So we'll get into that for you
here at top of next hour. But kalais Campbell, who's
a giant human being to be seventy three, six hundred pounds,
kalais Campbell, giant human being, and he was talking about
disrespectful and respectful trash talkers in the NFL. Let's take
(35:12):
a listen as to who was number one in the
respectful category and who was number one in the disrespectful category.
Speaker 4 (35:18):
Phil the Rivers just being a.
Speaker 12 (35:19):
Good trash talker is tough, but he was never like disrespectful,
you know, Mac Jones. Actually he was kind of disrespectful.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
Hold on, man, but you know he get an extra
five percent then.
Speaker 12 (35:32):
I mean, well, I'm trying to take you know, I'm
trying to hit him with them reason all the time.
So you know the maximum was always there.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
But what what might do that cross the lines? What
did you feel like?
Speaker 12 (35:40):
I remember, I was just just trash talking to the
you know, you know, at the highest level.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
But you know I was just like, you know, you
don't trust talk to me.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
You know, you know I wouldn't so old mac Jones
being disrespectful when it comes to trash talk, which is
rare considering he kicks people in the crotches when he
slides and does all that other fun stuff which is
to tripeople. He gator rolled some guy from Jackson gator rolled.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
Okay, what does that look like?
Speaker 3 (36:06):
You know, you grabbed their ankle and use a gator roll.
You know that works you hang out on the Everglades,
a little gator roll for you.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
I actually don't.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
I was curious as if you could describe for our
listeners what exactly that looks like.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
I think was Brian Burns mac Jones. There was like
a turnover and then he grabbed his ankle and rolled
him up. But the point is, who was the most
respectful and disrespectful trash talker that you guys dealt with
in the NFL if he had to rankle, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
I mean, I want I'm more surprised respectful.
Speaker 5 (36:37):
I'm more surprised that like Mac chirps as much as
he apparently does. Why he just doesn't seem like the
type of guy that'd be chirping that much. So it's
it's kind of I think I find a kind of
a music like picturing him out there and.
Speaker 4 (36:50):
Talks stretch, it gives him an edge.
Speaker 5 (36:53):
I'm kind of I am curious to see what exactly
he said to Kalais Campbell because is it just the
fact that he's and class is so old and still
playing in the league and so it was like one
of those veteran deals was like look, young pup, you're
still in that rookie contract, you can't talk to me
type thing, or like what did he actually like digging
deep into class Campbell like some of these some of
(37:15):
these dudes be knowing way too much about a dude's
personal life and their family.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
Yeah, they do.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
It's kind of like that clip from the program, but
he's making up stuff talking about it.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
You payment you poo, but at my efforts found you.
Speaker 4 (37:34):
You didn't think I found you?
Speaker 1 (37:35):
Did you?
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Come on?
Speaker 4 (37:36):
Man?
Speaker 3 (37:36):
You know I never knew your little sister.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Your mother actually, but now I got you.
Speaker 5 (37:46):
But your gut open and what you die?
Speaker 1 (37:49):
And then then they went right into the play and
he a gut open too.
Speaker 5 (37:53):
There'll be dudes int like way too much talking trash
like that, like, damn me.
Speaker 4 (37:58):
Find out the Scotty Report see that.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
Yeah, yeah, I heard, I heard very disrespectful at times.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
I heard that. That's what led to Derek Thomas's meltdown
on Monday Night Football that Shannon sharpened him had something
in common, and Shannon Sharp let him know.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
What was in common? You know what was it in common?
Speaker 3 (38:17):
Something the same shoes, talking crash.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
