(01:41):
You used to use rainbow? Didn't you use your rainbow?
What do you mean.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
When you grew up all rainbow?

Speaker 1 (01:51):
So? Well, all your reads? Man, you crush your reads.
Butterfly in the sky, Yeah, I can fly twice. Aye,
Just take a look. It's in a book. It's coop Rainbow.
I can do anything.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
But is that that's LeVar Burton I'm after?

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:16):
So, now were your parents watching reading Rainbow and they.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Said that's where I'm Kunta Kente this, hold on a second, Toby, Kunta, No,
you're Toby. Let me get this strange Kente. So he
did roots and reading Rainbow. Yeah, and star Trek. That's
some range. And star trek, Yeah, he was Gordy. That's

(02:39):
some range. There isn't that some range he was? He's
in space. He was space traveling. He's book traveling. Yeah.
He's still major, majorly into uh doing what he needs
to do in terms of education and reading. He goes
all over the world, all over the country. How about
that reads books? Still reads books?

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Brad, did you growe you grew up on read rainbow?

Speaker 5 (03:01):
Of course? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Pam, how about it?

Speaker 5 (03:03):
Didn't everyone?

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Bam? How about that?

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I mean, I do not really me there's more?

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Can you read? He just did?

Speaker 1 (03:10):
He just did a hell of a I mean his
his open and read was That's that's why I asked that.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
I seem to be corrected.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
I'm not trying to correct anybody out of you know,
to be insulting here. But I don't look at ty
Rack as a read I look at as a way
of life.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
How does how does reading Rainbow go?

Speaker 5 (03:28):
Like? How exactly is their little phrase?

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (03:33):
What's the phrase? Yeah? What is it?

Speaker 5 (03:35):
Like? I guess it's a jingle.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Yeah, we were just we.

Speaker 5 (03:38):
Were just saying it.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
I can do anything. Take a look at a book
and reading a look in a book, well at one too,
depending on the book. I mean, if it's Playboy, it's
at I guess right it is. And you don't need
to read I know you don't. You don't need to
be able to read that periodical.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
The picture book, Yeah, it's a picture book, that's right. Yeah,
fun little pic picture books were fun because it'd only
be like three or four words. It would be like,
look at the dog, and there's a dog, and then
you show yeah twice.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Yeah, just take a look. It's another book. It's reading Rainbow.
She got pomp.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Yeah anyway.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Yeah, for instance, this place to grow reading Rainbow.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
It should be open cham anything. I see my mom.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Hey, my mom used to make me believe I used
to watch that door.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
She's like, there's your name after him.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
Reading Rainbow Strainbow kid it.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Yeah, it's early in the morning too. Come on.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Man could have a bad and LaVar would have been
lead singer.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
And we go around the world singing reading Rainbow. Shoe
would have been there, yeah, but I would have gotten
like one or two lines in and then just taking
the checks and run with it for the rest of
my career.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
So and so you can play instruments, right, Like I
can't play anything you have like a tambourine or something.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah, I meant.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Musical talent. Yeah, backup cigar slash like a tambourine.

Speaker 5 (05:22):
I mean you don't.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
You don't really need to know how to play anything.
I mean, Elvis wasn't really playing a guitar. It was
like a prop. So you know, it's like he's like
he was at a kid's birthday party. He was playing
a rock star. So you just, uh, you know.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
You don't really need to do everything.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Not really, it's more of a prop. I don't even
think it was plugged in, to be honest with you.
It's like a music video. The instruments aren't even playing.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
Cardi b Okay.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah, although upon further detail, apparently people were coaxed into
throwing stuff at her on stage, which is yeah, yeah,
so what happened? See not upon further reviewed, they were
helling the people in the crowd to cool her down
because it was so hot.

Speaker 5 (06:04):
Who's they?

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Whoever?

Speaker 2 (06:06):
The DD was, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Why would he think though, that's something that anyone would want?

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Well, because it was hot as hell, and I guess
he was like, you know, get her cooler off. And
because she did write a song you know called what
you know, they're just an acro. Yeah, it just uh.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
So this song is a really easy to read on a.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yeah you know, so that's definitely not part of reading Rainbow.
That song that was definitely left out. That was the
B sides version of that album. Can't you say the
acronym the acronym is not you could say the acronym
is wop, wow.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Wop. Take that s out.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
It's not wasp. It's not white Anglo Saxon Protestant. It
actually means something different. Yeah, sure does.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Yeah, yeah, who.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
All right, well let's try and clean up the best.
Let's up, you know, because you can throw a microphone
at it. By the way, Yeah that.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
In this case. In this case, the piece stands for Peyton.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
That will be Sean Payton, all right, in this acronym,
because Sean Payton, as we all recall, about a week ago,
less than a week ago, decided to air out Nathaniel
Hackett and the entire Broncos organization from a year before.
You know, still members of that Broncos organization are there
in Denver. Now that Sean Payton is there. He claimed

(07:49):
he regretted it forty minutes afterwards. Yet he didn't call
Jared Bell to have the article taken down or have
him not run with the article.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
He just let it fly.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
So Nathaniel Hackett spoke for the first time publicly about
the whole situation yesterday at Jets training camp. So let's
hear from the former Broncos head coach now Jets offensive coordinator,
the Daniel Hackett.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
I've been involved in this business my whole life, and
as a coach, you know, as a coach's kid. You know,
we live in a glasshouse. We know that we all
live in different rooms. We all got a key for it.
And it's one of those things that there's a code,
there's a way things are done. It's frustrating and it sucks,
but we're all susceptible to it. They're things that you do,
Mistakes you make, and it costs you time on the field,

(08:34):
cost you your job, all those things, and I own
all that stuff. It's unfortunate that that had to happen,
that the comments that were made, but.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
Hey, they did.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I'll tell you can.

Speaker 6 (08:43):
Always look at that silver lining and man, this organization,
these players, the coaches, Solah, everybody has been unbelievable. I
think that's something that is just awesome and it's brought
our team together.

Speaker 7 (08:55):
He said publicly that he would call to apologize as
he got no we chanced to.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Call, never, I've never met the guy, So let's let's
get home from it.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
That was last week.

Speaker 6 (09:06):
I think that's something that is just awesome, and it's
brought our team together.

Speaker 7 (09:09):
So there's publicly that he would call to apologize as
we chanced to call.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
Never, I've never met the guy, so let's get home
from it. That was last week.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yeah, well, but you just responded to it.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
And also he's not gonna hear from him because Sean
Payton isn't sorry about anything he said.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Like he said what he meant.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
He said what he meant, like if he didn't, he
would have told Jared Bell again did not post it.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Let me just say this though about Nathaniel Hackett. I
feel like he's been the adult in the room with
the way he's handled it. And that's one thing, like,
regardless of what you want to say about how things
went in Denver last year, he always handled it with
class and dignity. You know, he he learned a lot
of lessons, I think as a first time head coach.
But you have to, like, at least from the human

(09:56):
side of it, admit that he didn't really act, you know,
immature or respond in an immature way. He in a
very adult manner, kind of portrayed the fact that I
felt like he kind of violated a coach's code. And
I feel like there's a lot of coaches out there
who would agree with that. And look, there there's somebody
to be said for that, like like, say whatever you

(10:17):
want to get about him as a head coach, how
things went, there's a reason why Rogers loves him.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
You know, there's a reason.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Why he got a job right away as in oc
in New York, as opposed to.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
Sitting out on the sidelines right now.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
You know, people respect him, People understand he's a better
coach than how things went last year. And even though
it looked like the perfect storm of a disaster with
how everything went, there's more to that story.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
You know.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
I think a lot of people who you know, were
around that organization last year, you know, they would say
there's a lot of blame to be spread around and
you know, the most interesting thing is going to be
the quarterback position, and if Sean Payton can get Russell
Wilson to be the guy we saw in Seattle and
play the way you know, we think he's capable of

(11:03):
within an offense that's maybe not the offense that Russell
Wilson's pushing for. Maybe it's the offense that he doesn't want,
but his best for him, if that makes sense, because
that was one of the narratives that kind of came
out from Denver last year was there was one pushing
one person pushing for an offense that really didn't suit
his strengths, yet it's what he thought he is or

(11:26):
was as a quarterback.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
And it was a disaster.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
And even though Nathaniel Hackett was a part of it,
he wasn't necessarily the person who was pushed for. He
was just trying to help support his player to be
the best player he thought he could be, and in
doing so, ultimately it cost it for on their jobs.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
I think Sean Payton put it out there because he
wants to be able to give himself some added runway.
It's one thing to think that russ Is is the guy.
It's another thing to know he's the guy right. So
coming into this scenario, he decided to sacrifice Nathaniel Hackett,

(12:07):
the ownership of the team, other players. He decided to
sacrifice all of them to try and paint a picture
that says that Sean Payton can come in and fix
this with Russell Wilson. Now he puts some dirt on
Russell Wilson's hands, so there's enough dirt on his hands

(12:28):
from Sean Payton's statement to say that that dirt was
dirty enough where we probably need to go in a
different direction. But we're going in a different direction after
I gave it an opportunity to see if I, the
true coach that is a quarterback whisperer, can get the
most out of Russell Wilson. And I think that that's

(12:54):
all it came down to is he basically said this
was a dumpster fire. I'm taking over dumpster fire. If
I do well in year one, that's a testament to
how good I am and how good my coaching staff is.
If we don't do well in year one, I get
to get out of it because I get to say
Nathaniel Hackett sucked as a coach. The organization sucked in

(13:16):
their decision making, and I have to continue to fix this.
I think that's ultimately what it comes down to. Sean
Payton has shown before that he's about self preservation. So
the whole coach's code thing, I think is out the
door with someone like him, and like Nathaniel Hackett said,
I never met the man. He doesn't even know them.
They don't even know each other. So whether it's a

(13:36):
coaching code that he violated or not, I don't think
Sean Payne even gives a damn that he violated any
type of code. He's looking out for Sean Payton at
this point. I mean, it's gonna be, uh, just the
whole presentation of Hard Knocks. I'm curious to see how
they go about it, because you know, they're looking for
anything they can to try and spice that series up.
And I feel like they're really going to lean into

(13:58):
this one much like we all have. I feel like
they're going to lean into this one, and this is
going to be presented in a certain way. It's connected
to their biggest storyline, right yeah. I mean it's connected
to Aaron Rodgers, So why wouldn't you lean into that?
See what comes of it. I mean, we'll see how
much you can lean on it, though, because it's not
and it's not there, you're not seeing it play out

(14:19):
there for the camera other than just reactions.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Who has the better season? Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Aaron Rodgers, Oh geez, Aaron Rodgers, because I actually think
Russell Wilson is going to be a lot better, just
because it's impossible, because he's got Sean Payton well, and also,
I mean, you know, he doesn't say it's not better
than what he was last year. He said who's going
to have the better season? I'll say Rogers. But I
do think Wilson is going to play well. And I
think Denver is going to be a good team. I

(14:46):
think Denver is going to be a playoff team.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
But yeah, okay, but we'll russ but but yeah, I
think they were playing.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
But when you say Denver will be a better team,
first of all, they're in a super tough division.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Well yeah, yeah, and hold on for a second, so
they get so they're one of seven teams.

Speaker 5 (15:04):
Who's the other six?

Speaker 1 (15:05):
I would say, if we're going obviously the Chiefs, I
would say the Bills. I would say the Ravens, the Bengals, Jacksonville.
Where are we at right now? Five?

Speaker 5 (15:24):
You're at five? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (15:26):
All right, so then I'll go Miami.

Speaker 5 (15:30):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Yeah, question Mark Tine, you ain't throw San Diego?

Speaker 3 (15:36):
I mean at least so the Chargers once again don't
make it off.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Yeah. Well, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Jeez, why do you do this to me?

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Well, I'm just saying, like when you said the Denver
Brogles are a playoff team, I'm thinking, well, all right,
I guess Herbert his contract and everything means like that's
a roster that is a playoff roster?

Speaker 5 (15:53):
Am I wrong in that assessment? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (15:54):
No, I think they are, like they are loaded.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
I don't get it, Like, I'm not sure how I mean,
I think after this year, if they don't, You've really
got some great concerns because I think there's a lot
of other coaches that are out there that are, like,
I want that job, because that quarterback, that roster that's
a that should be a playoff team doesn't make sense.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
What would you say if I were to ask you
right now the odds on Denver to make the playoffs
on DraftKings, what what would you say? They are?

Speaker 2 (16:22):
What kind of money.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
I would say they are ten to one.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Really to make who the Broncos?

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Yeah, the Broncos. I'd go higher than that, longer odds
plus one eighty, So one hundred bucks wins. You want
eighty on Denver to go to the playoffs. So I
think the Steelers will have a bounce back year this year.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
I didn't even mention Cleveland and Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
They're just so relaxed.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
I don't worry about that so much.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
We're going to have to table that conversation.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
Yeah, well done, there is well well done.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Well that the.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
Show.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
We're gonna have the massage that topic a little bit
more later.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
Here's a towel. You did a hell of a job.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Today, hell of his job at this hour, you know,
I'm already regretting my brogos to make the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
Pick.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Can we take that out of the podcast? Please? And
now that I'm thinking about it, keep it.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
In there, all right, keeping it just like our conversation
about the US women's national team and what happens if
they tie?

Speaker 2 (17:35):
So oh hey, look, hey, you know they're not leading their.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
Group and so I think they've got a much harder path,
which I think was the point and Le's like, I
don't know.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
You got to keep it.

Speaker 8 (17:48):
You know, I didn't know Netherlands was gonna go eight
nothing on their next match.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Yeah, well cool, that's.

Speaker 5 (17:56):
Why we asked the questions. I do.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
I do appreciate the fact that the Carlie Lloyd. It's like,
what are these girls doing? Why are they why are
they celebrating?

Speaker 2 (18:04):
But you're not allowed to criticize them. You can't, but
you can't know.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
It wasn't be criticizing.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
I was just applauding the fact that Carly Lloyd has
a former absolute star. It's like, yeah, I'm gonna I'm
gonna hold this locker room accountable for a second.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
And she got a ton of blowback for it, like
people work, yeah, coming after saying oh, well, you know,
her comments were out of line, and that's just you know,
her being She's gonna get honest for wanting to celebrate
and all. It's like, sorry that she's got higher expectations
because this is supposed to be the best team in
the world and they played like crap.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
I mean well yeah, and they've dominated, you know, through
the group stage for the most part. I mean again,
I go I go back to the very first game
versus Vietnam, the over under was set at six and
a half. Who'd you think they think was scoring all
those goals? Right, It wasn't Vietnam. They were expecting the
women's team to literally blow them out like they had
in the past or the Netherlands. Who's in there was

(18:54):
in their group and was able to blow.

Speaker 5 (18:56):
Out some point.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
You guys, remember the first time the Dream Team lost,
or the US men's vall team lost lost, it was
always painted as dream Team, dream Team Volume two, like, oh,
nobody's gonna beat us. And the first time they lost,
they got showed up and spit out by everybody. This
is disgusting. Nobody cares anymore. They made drastic changes. There's

(19:16):
nothing wrong with being critical, I mean, but if you're.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
The dream team, never lost.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
There was iterations of the dreams that wasn't really the
dream team.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
Yeah, not my dream team, that's for sure. Oh my
dream team. They don't play basketball, No, no, they do
something else. Yeah, what's that?

Speaker 5 (19:39):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
That's why my dream that's why they're my dream team. Damn.
That's right, by the way, my team though, of my
dream I don't know if.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
We'll have time for it today. But I had a
dream about all you guys yesterday.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
I swear to God, one of the weirdest. I don't
want to. I don't even want to pretty entertaining. That's weird.
That's really weird entertaining.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
I got something that wasn't so much entertaining.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
Yes, fair about that. I'm gonna share with you.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Okay, So now now let me ask you this live
on OA. Do we want to do this coming up next?

calm down.

So get ready, everybody. If your kids are refusing to
want to watch the Super Bowl, don't worry they're going
to have to watch it. Now, Slime, I'm going to
my room to watch Nickelodeon, just like, what are we
doing here?

Speaker 5 (22:10):
What?

Speaker 3 (22:11):
What?

Speaker 1 (22:11):
What are we doing?

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Why are why is this necessary?

Speaker 5 (22:14):
I mean you just say that.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Why is this necessary? Why? Why do we have to
have why do we have to have this done to
the super Bowl?

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Done?

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Did you say don't done to the super Bowl? Why
do we have to know?

Speaker 1 (22:28):
I do not say why do we have to have
this done to the super Bowl? Why can't you just
have the super Bowl? And let's not put on a
goofy presentation. You've been working on these whole time of
casts too though, I mean it's been going on for
a minute.

Speaker 5 (22:40):
Hold on now.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
I mean it's it's the way our society is. We
We cater towards you know, everyone with everything, and uh,
you know, even if even if it's kids, and God forbid,
we make a kid say when you become older, like,
you're not going to want to watch a game with
Slime and people being like brat, like you're just gonna want.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
To watch the game wo like just all the goofy
crap to go along with it.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
That's but that's how our society is it's like, well, hey,
we can you know, we can create a different broadcast
and have you know, kids watch this because I'm what
you're preparing them for. What I mean, maybe they find
them more entertaining, more fun. Eventually you kind of grow
out of it. But like I just it's so weird
to me as a little kid, Like I never needed that.

(23:27):
I remember when the Reds won the World Series and
I was sitting there watching my pops. I never I
didn't need slime. I didn't need any additional entertainment. The
game was the game, and I loved it. And I
love the fact that, like you know, watching them during
that period of time, you're it was all about the players.
It was all about their style of play, it was
all about every little detail of it.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Eric Davis, Eric Crissebo, Yeah, I love those respects.

Speaker 5 (23:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
But my point was like we've gotten to the point
where it's like the games aren't enough, the players aren't enough,
the uniforms or whatever it.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
Is, it's not enough.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
And that's crazy to me, like like we need to
add something additionally to something that's already the greatest sport
in the United States and the biggest event arguably in
the world, and yet we still have to add something
else to it. I just think that's that's where we're
at nowadays. We we cater towards anyone and everything in

(24:28):
the hopes of what getting a little differal revenue share
or what I mean, it's just more viewership. I mean,
are we rating those households like there's a little kids
TV to look at the desk.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
What I'm thinking, That's what I'm thinking.

Speaker 5 (24:42):
It is.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
It's it's expansion techniques.

Speaker 5 (24:45):
Well that's but it's pretty expansion. For a second. The
question I have is like, are they doing research on
little kids?

Speaker 3 (24:51):
They're saying, oh, little kids these days, they're not into football.
How do we get them in there? Let's play on Nickelodeon.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
Like that's exactly what they're saying, But how do you
even getting that research? I think the seven year olds, well,
didn't they They've had the NFL on Nickelodeon. Isn't that
what they had? The girls was doing.

Speaker 5 (25:10):
Has been a number of broadcasts.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
They had a Bears Saints playoff game, the Christmas Day
game they did on Nickelodeon last year I think was
Broncos Chargers. It did nine hundred thousand viewers on Nickelodeon.
I think I saw the number yesterday. I just I
don't understand why this is necessary. You don't already have
enough viewers for the super Bowl. You got to you

(25:33):
got to try and pull in more. I just for
if my kid doesn't want to watch the super Bowl
this upcoming year, then he's gonna do what he.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
Does all the time.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
He's gonna walk upstairs and he's gonna turn on YouTube
and watch a bunch of trash truck videos because that's
what he does every damn day.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Yeah, every I wonder if trash truck needs to, you know,
come up with showing us.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Yeah, let me tell you something.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
If you put if there's a TV in the frontman
of a front loading trash truck that's got the super
Bowl on that, and he'll watch other than that. Unless
he's got money on the game, he's got no interest
in it. I just I don't think that's what they're doing.
What you just said, I think is what the people
who are watching and doing the studies are are talking about.
What they're thinking, How do you become more relevant to

(26:16):
to Q's point, to a an age group that is
seemingly maybe disconnected from football. They might not have an
interest in football like how we did when we were
growing up. You know, America's past times like those are
things that that resonated from mill workers packing bologney sandwiches

(26:38):
and putting it literally in one of those woven woven
baskets and going and sitting in the grass with their
kids and watching baseball, the good.

Speaker 5 (26:48):
Old Such a nice picture. I just I really wish
that nice.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
I would have enjoyed that Ford Field, like guys were
going like to different places.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
That's what it was.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
What do you put on your swich when I ate them?
I haven't ate a baloney sandwich and forever mao cheese,
mao cheese. Yeah, some shredded lettuce. Maybe add a little
crunch to it. Stop white bread?

Speaker 5 (27:12):
Stop stop? I used to white bread? And why is
that white bread?

Speaker 2 (27:17):
What are you getting at there?

Speaker 5 (27:18):
You don't want to get again? Nobody can't.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
But then someone but much like I don't. Yeah, that's
very true.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
That's you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (27:28):
Nobody ate week bread. Back in the day, did you
go wonder or web bad wonder wonder or weber white bread?

Speaker 3 (27:36):
One that crysalt toast Now crysalt bread, Croissant. I'm telling
you right now, there is a brand that it is
loaves of like croissant bread.

Speaker 5 (27:46):
It is the greatest bread I've ever.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
Had, cut slices.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
I will put I will yes, I will put that
stuff up against anything you want to get Paris from
a bakery, anywhere you want to go.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
You go find that croissant bread.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
Okay, is that what Messy was buying at Public's? Probably
all right?

Speaker 3 (28:05):
Probably, I know they got it a whole food. It's
whole paycheck they call it. Yeah, the whole paycheck.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
Yeah, they got it there.

Speaker 5 (28:13):
It's probably your whole paycheck. But it's good and so.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
Saying butter and jelly on that.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
So think about where we don't tell me.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
Yeah, we'll take a break right now.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
So think about where we've come.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
We've come from that to all right, let's have you
know double dare theme music pop up when Patrick Mahomes
gets picked off and try and downplay the significance of
a turnover in a super Bowl. That disgusts me. Oh wow,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (28:39):
I mean, I guess my question is if you are
trying to lure a younger audience to make it more
entertaining for them. Then what happens when they get older?
They all that stuff's not a part of the game.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
You transition them. Let me tell you something right now.
You know what I'm gonna do to get my kid
ready for football. If he asks, hey, can we watch
Nicola Odian, I'm gonna say sure, and then I'm gonna
rig it to where the.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
Program comes on.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
It gets to watch Latimer get on the not not
that far, We'll skip the.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Album. Oh yeah, like did you? I'm gonna have him.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
I'm going to have him look down on Joe Caine
for pulling out a six pack of sprite yea every.

Speaker 5 (29:26):
College quarterback date it's a tennis player.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (29:30):
My friend, and I'm going to tell him, you know,
the best part of the movie is when Joe can
actually when Joe the best the best part of the
movie is when Joe Caine it gets approached by that
guy at the bar says who says, he you think
my chicks got the hots for you? And Joe Caine says, probably,
That's what I'm going to show him. That's going to
be part of the highlight reel of the program. We're

(29:52):
not watching Nickelodeon.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
I heard one of the best lines ever in a
charity event that I was a part of on Monday.
I mean it was I gotta, I gotta, I gotta
be careful about this, that's right. Jordan Cornett. Obviously he's
got a foundation supporting a tragic event that happened to
his brother, Joel Cornett, had sudden cardiac arrest. You know,

(30:14):
So he's got a foundation not having his family, and
really it goes to support research studies to to kind
of figure it out, you know, cardiac arrest, a sudden
cardiac arrest for for athletes, which now more than ever, right, Like,
it's it's becoming very concerning for a lot of folks
out there. That being said, I mean this this was
an all time line because we were talking about UH

(30:38):
quarterbacks in particular.

Speaker 5 (30:40):
And I'm not gonna say who they were.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
Mentioning in this vein or in this light, okay, but
they were talking about a previous quarterback who had been
on their team.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
They're like, I don't.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
Know, seems like too much of a nice guy, you know,
like can't give that pregame speech you need. He just
seems like just too nice of a guy. You know,
They're like, I want my quarterback to be the type
of the guy that might sleep with my wife.

Speaker 5 (31:02):
You know, maybe he did. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
He goes you know, maybe he's got a little bit
of a track record and he might be the type
of guy that sleeps with your wife. You know, And
if he's that good, I would actually be okay with it.

Speaker 5 (31:12):
Like this said that, I go, well.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
Hey, some people have a different level commitment, and I
admire that.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
I don't think there's any I.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
Was like, damn super bowls?

Speaker 1 (31:25):
That all right, Well I can't jump on that bandwagon.
I'm away for to come.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
Because what do you think, I go, I don't think that. No,
I said, I don't think that's necessary, Sir, I said,
I don't think it needs to go that far.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
So basically, the moral of the story is we will
not be watching the Super Bowl Nickelodeon. That's the that's
the moral of the story. But you know what, you know,
Deshaun Watson, then these highlights has a hand towel. Oh Jesus,
I notice that I didn't practices.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
I mean, I'll be I'll be honest with you. I
think that's more than norm You know. I don't think
that habits changed.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
Oh okay, problem, use know how to use them towels.
All these guys big towel, beach towel and Towe bakes,
Towe devasage towel.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
It appears that that is.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
A sage towel.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
I mean there is no towel. There isn't that.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
Yeah, it's one hundred dollars.

Speaker 5 (32:24):
Bill, I was going to say, it's Captain America's shield.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
Isn't it cheese? Isn't it a sheet and a blinking

our executive producer Lee di Lap.

Speaker 8 (35:06):
Good morning, everybody, Good morning, Jonas, Good morning, LeVar, Good
morning Brady.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Guys.

Speaker 8 (35:11):
In case you missed this, a report from the Des
Moines Register, Yes, Sirs, reporting that Iowa State starting Quarterbackylee
Morning morning.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Brady, got him. We got him, We stomped him.

Speaker 8 (35:28):
Yeah, we got I always say starting quarterback Hunter Deckers
just being accused of making three hundred and sixty six
sporting wagers, including twenty six on Iowa State sports.

Speaker 4 (35:39):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
Gotcha, guys, got.

Speaker 8 (35:41):
Me all Yeah, including one game where he was a
backup quarterback against Oklahoma State.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (35:48):
He's also facing criminal charges from the Story County DA
office has filed the criminal complaint against Deckers, claiming he
tampered with records connected to their investigation.

Speaker 5 (35:58):
Yeah, let me provide a little bit more on this.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
So, according to the court documents that I've seen fil
in this case, Deckers and his parents actually engage in
a scheme and they allowed the quarterback to disguise his
identity and manipulate online slash mobile transactions in order to
create the appearance of sports wager. Transactions were conducted by

(36:21):
his mother, Jamie Deckers, on DraftKings and instead of being him.
So if they've got documented proof of this, this is
a big, big time deal.

Speaker 5 (36:32):
And look for those who think.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
That like it's gonna you know, oh gamble, he's gonna
be impact, it's gonna go away. No, these sorts of
actions are are going to and I wouldn't be surprised
if they don't take a really, really hard line unfortunately
with mister Deckers and really the Deckers family only because
they have to set a precedent with this sort of thing.

(36:57):
So there's still a lot more to find out. For
from what I'm reading and seeing, it is going to
be precedent setting. It's going to be a huge deal,
and it's a sad thing for Iowa State fans. I mean, look,
Deckers is solid man, he gets slinging around, he keeps
them you know, competitive, I think in the Big Twelve,
and obviously this is this would be a huge loss

(37:20):
for a team that I think you know, could use,
especially at quarterback. Looking at the rest of that conference
with all the other moving parts on it, you lose
that element.

Speaker 5 (37:28):
Of being able to compete and stay competitive if he's
not there.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
And now the game that he did bet on where
he was the backup, the Iowa State Oklahoma State game.
Iowa State did win the game twenty four to twenty one,
but they were a seven point favorite.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
So I just wonder, did.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
He take the seven points in favor of Oklahoma State
and win the bet or did he lose and bet
on his own team. To me, if he bet on
his own team and he lost, yeah, yeah, maybe at
like a suspended for half.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
You know, at least he showed that he's.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
Looking at losing permanent eligibility, and by the way, he should.
I'm hearing he's not the only player, at least in
the state of Iowa that's that's up or subject to punishment.
There's a player who's transfer recently that might be in
trouble as well. Now for another Big twelve team.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
Nice, you know, they're just like everybody. They like to gamble. Boy,
that was a debbie down.
