Two Pros and a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. Coming up on
this Football Friday, We're gonna look back at last night's
preseason game in the NFL finished in a tie. Seems
kind of appropriate. A quarterback got booed a kick or
missed a bunch of kicks. Yeah, we'll get into all
that fun stuff. Plus, we're going to talk about some
concern for the Miami Dolphins. Not only was there an
(00:21):
injury to their offensive line, but there's a reputation Tua
now has with them.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
We'll get into that.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
We're gonna talk about other news and notes from around
the NFL. The Lions have a problem on their hands,
and it's not just Jamison Williams and his gambling addiction.
It's also the fact that David Montgomery's dog may Or
may not still be alive. It'll make some sense. We're
gonna talk with Bruce Feldman about his annual college football
Freaks List. Plus, we've got another edition of In case
you missed it. We've got some over unders and you
(00:47):
in and you out, it's all yours. Coming up next here,

Speaker 4 (02:03):
I mean pretty good.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
I mean, we got the weekend coming up, a lot
of big trip next week, and we allowed to talk
about this yet.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
I mean, I'm not sure.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
I mean, I'm I'm going to be the nod of
approval from one lead to lap that we are allowed
to talk about I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Okay, do you want to break this down? Then? All right?
Speaker 1 (02:23):
So apparently rumor has it and we got to be
careful because I don't want to say anything that would
get us dumped, because this is the portion of the
show which we got to walk on eggshells here with
Iowa Sam behind the scenes. Which, by the way, people
were outraged yesterday that you went to the red light district.
I just want to point that out. People were very
upset at how that whole thing broke down.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
But that I did or Iowa Sam did that you went, you.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Were taken to the red light district by Iowa Sam.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
For what I said when I said someone's name. I
was a little bit surprised by that.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah, they were outraged, right, and my made I point
out that was in all caps outraged and highlighted because
of what Iowa Sam did. But again, that's neither here
nor there. So we raby broadcasting next week on Thursday
and Friday live from Dublin, Ireland.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
So we are going to be out there and we'll
have more details on where we'll be at and just
sort of everybody that's going to be partaking in the
show and all that. But we're going to be out there.
We're going to be able to go see Notre Dame
and Navy as well too. I mean a lot of
people have been shouting Navy plus twenty. I don't even
know what that means. I'm not even sure what they're
(03:38):
getting at there.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
But why would we ask you?
Speaker 5 (03:40):
Why would we asked our resident gambling expert from Iowa?
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Oh geez, what come ono?
Speaker 1 (03:47):
I mean, they do one crop circle in the shape
of a video poker machine and you got to crack
jokes at him.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
That's uncalled for. Sam.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
I apologize that you guys have been given a stigma
of degenerate gamblers.
Speaker 6 (03:59):
That's kindable in here what he said.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
That's okay, But we are going to be out there
broadcasting live from Dublin, Ireland. It's gonna be a phenomenal
time and again we're gonna have details on everybody that's
going to be joining us, where we'll be at, how
you can take part in it and listen and have
fun with us there. So I've never been anywhere outside
of North America, so I have no idea what to expect.
(04:23):
But you tell me nothing but good things about the
great place that is Dublin, Ireland. I've only been to Dublin, Ohio.
So I'm assuming they're just basically the same thing. Is
that Is that the correct assumption.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
That'd be way off. I mean, there's there are some similarities,
but that.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
Would be way off. No, it's a really really cool place.
Some of the nicest folks in the world. You're actually
gonna drink a Guinness. It's gonna sayste entirely different. There's
just there's a ton of things why But I don't
exactly know. I mean, there's there's the whole factory there.
You can go through the tour. It's pretty intense. I mean,
they take you through the brewing process and by the
(05:01):
end of the tour you're like, Okay, I get it now,
I understand why it's so special.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
I think there's there's probably two reasons.
Speaker 5 (05:07):
I don't know how well it travels, you know, once
it's in a bottle or in a can. I think
that's part of it. I think that's also probably the water.
I've learned this recently from a mile and shorty event.
We actually had a beer pong event at a brewery.
They call it actually a brewi's stillery because it's a
brewery slash distillery. Anyway, they talked a lot about how
(05:30):
the history behind making beer and how stouts, which is
what Guinness is, is traditionally made in areas that has
hard water. And you have hard water when you're on
an island like you are in Ireland, and so it's
more mineral dense and so far. So that's why you
make a better stout when you have you know, more
(05:50):
minerally type water, hard water when you come from a
place like Ireland. So anyway, I think that kind of
you know, probably plays a factor into it as well.
But again I think it's the way it travels probably.
Speaker 6 (06:02):
Spoiler alert, Brady, I'm going on this tour. What day
should I go?
Speaker 4 (06:05):
By?
Speaker 6 (06:05):
The way?
Speaker 4 (06:07):
I would? I don't know, Lee, I mean, like, right.
Speaker 6 (06:10):
When don't we get off the planet?
Speaker 1 (06:13):
A Lee, right in the middle of the show just
We'll just do phone ins from there and see how
many years.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
I mean, Lee, you're such a wildcard.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
I have no idea because in my head I'm playing
out like, all right, Lee's getting one at least a
few beers at the very top, that's what you That's
where you finish the tour. So you get a whole
look at Dublin as you look around at this like
this rooftop bar.
Speaker 6 (06:34):
That's what I'm just looking forward to. Is I hear
that's the best view of Dublin.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
It is.
Speaker 5 (06:39):
It's awesome. It's awesome. I would tell you to do
it right when you get in. So obviously you checked
up off the list. But I'm also a little bit
worried about you being absolutely banged up coming in Thursday. Like,
if that's how you're starting the trip, I'm not. I'm
curious to see how how you get to the actual day.
We have to do a radio show.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Yeah, I'm going to.
Speaker 6 (06:59):
Set the pace strong Man.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
One of the things that's going to be a benefit
to us, though, is that when you start this show
at three in the morning Pacific time, it makes it
a little bit difficult to get banged up during the
week or on work nights, but out there it's eleven am.
So now you've given Lee an eight hour runway to
just roll. He can, He'll figure something. And I have
(07:21):
no idea what that's going to look like.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
He's going to be producing this show sideways.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
It's gonna be it is going to be a wild time.
And so just to think what that could turn into.
And the fact that we are going to be doing
the show live from a bar, and the fact that
we are going to be out there and partaking and
hanging out with the people there live from a bar.
While this is all going on, the excitement, people have
(07:47):
been reaching out.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
I did you hear like LaVar is going to do
an Irish jig? He knows how to do, like the
Irish dancing iris step dancers.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
What exactly is an Irish jig?
Speaker 4 (07:56):
It's a type of dancing. It's a you know, it's
a lot of footwork.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
Okay, he says he can do it, so I know
he's on the show today, but he said he can
do it.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
So when we're Busker's Bar and somebody shouts out, LeVar,
give us an Irish jig, he'll know immediately what to do.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
Yeah, he will know a Irish jig. He will, yes,
he will know how to do one of those.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
So, by the way, and if anybody is in the
Dublin area and you happen to be passing by Busker's
Bar on Thursday and Friday, there it is in between
the hours of eleven am to two pm local time.
Speaker 5 (08:30):
Yep, you can picture him now, can you picture him?
Light on his feet, just kind of like fluttering his
feet a little bit.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Oh my god, you should. You should see Iowa Sam
dancing to this song.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
He's doing it right now. He knews. I bet Irish
Sam can do it a little jig?
Speaker 6 (08:44):
How am a little Irish?
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Here? He looks like one of those Christmas decorations, one
of those inflatable Christmas decorations, playing the violin silk big.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Artists, come on, Oh wow, ruined it.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
I think it's what Brady used to say to USC
fans as he was walking walking off the field. But nonetheless,
it's going to be a lot of fun Buskers Bar
next Thursday Friday.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
We get out there.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
The travel is something I've never experienced in my life,
so I'm not sure how the time change is.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Going to work.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
And all that we've already gone over this. You're going direct,
so you're lucky.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
I don't have that. I don't have that opportunity. What
do you mean?
Speaker 5 (09:22):
So it's just when you travel in general, let alone internationally,
you want to eliminate as many stops as as you can,
Like you want to be able to get onto a
plane and get from point A to point B if
you can.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
I don't have that luxury because.
Speaker 5 (09:39):
They don't have the directs from Miami anymore, so I
have to have a stop, which it could get interesting
on the way there.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
So they've got everything else that you could possibly want
or imagine in Miami except for direct flights to Dublin, Ireland.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Apparently at least on the air at least on the
airline that we're going on.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Okay, well, I mean it's going to be a block.
We're looking forward to it. Hopefully you'll be along for
the ride. You the listener can come along, hang out
with us, and we'll all do this thing together next
Thursday Friday, So that'll be that'll be a fun ride
for everybody involved. So looking forward to that. We should
probably at some point mentioned last night there was a
preseason game that ended.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
Yeah, I mean this The game next week that we're
going to probably won't end it in time.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
I know it won't.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
So yeah, So this game ended in a tie last
night the Cleveland Browns and the Philadelphia Eagles, and there
was a few players that got banged up. Now, majority
of the starters did not play. It was just rotational guys.
But we'll keep you posting on just sort of the
updates and status of all those guys when we have
that or if that comes out later on this morning.
(10:46):
But we did do some over unders on that game
last night, because why wouldn't we. I mean, we figured
we're so inspired by Kirk Farns and the great State
of Iowa and just their their free spirit when it
comes to gambling, that we thought, why don't we do
some over unders on an NFL preseason game?
Speaker 2 (11:03):
So lead to lap.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
We've got the results from last night's over unders for
the preseason game.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
What are we looking at?
Speaker 7 (11:09):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (11:09):
Oh, you bet you So we had an eighteen eighteen tie,
which was just fantastic. But the overunder was set at
thirty eight and a half. Oh but Jonas and Brady
you both got that. You both took under.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
All right, Now you know who gets some blame for that.
Cade York and let me tell you something. The Browns
have a Cad York problem.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Brady. You got to start making some calls.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
It feels like if there's something that could get in
the way from them potentially being a threat.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Yeah, they got a problem.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
He so he missed an attempt as a go ahead.
It was the go ahead lead late in the fourth quarter,
which would have hit the over. There was a penalty,
moved it up, and then still missed the second attempt.
So not ideal for Cade York and the Cleveland Browns.
So but at least we.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Did win that and LeVar is not here. Maybe this
is why the hard didn't show.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
Up to day. Maybe, yeah, maybe that starts so far.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
For the law.
Speaker 6 (12:04):
So, guys, we had asked passing touchdowns for DTR Dorian
Thompson Robinson. He had zero. He hit the under on
that one. Everybody had taken the over, So bad job
by everybody on that he didn't.
Speaker 5 (12:15):
He played alright, there's you, Stu bloculaid. By the way,
he lit up a dB for the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
Because okay, I'll save my next comment for the next bet,
because I know where we're going.
Speaker 7 (12:28):
With this.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
All right, Lee, what's the next one?
Speaker 6 (12:30):
Next one up? We had Marcus Mariota rushing yards nine
and a half. Some some bullishness from some people on
this one, but Jonas actually took the under. He only
had one rushing attempt for five yards.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
I like Mariota a lot. It feels like we're coming
up towards the end.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Now.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
Well, what bothered me about like watching him last night
is he didn't seem like he was really exhausting his
his full capability, like it's preseason. He's a veteran guy.
He knows he doesn't want to take off, run and
get hurt. And I'm a bit surprised by that. I mean,
they drafted Tanner McKee and he was looked good. He
(13:08):
looked pretty good last night.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
He got booed by Philly fans. Did Marcus Mario that that?
Want to show you the level of careness in Philly
as opposed to some other places around the league.
Speaker 5 (13:19):
And if here was a clevel when he played like that,
they would have boot him too.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Yes, I mean in Chicago, with the history at quarterback
they've got there, they would have built a statue form.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
So all right, Lee, what.
Speaker 6 (13:30):
Else we got I'm gonna circle back to number four. First,
I'm going to jump to number five. Which team is
penalized more? The Eagles are the Browns. Browns were penalized
eight times for seventy six yards some more yards, but
actually the Eagles were penalized more eleven times fifty five yards.
So the Eagles were penalized more. Jonas correctly predicted that
we got to make that more clear.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
And we're yeah, because that's not how I'd look at that.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
What would you look at it as?
Speaker 5 (13:54):
I would say the Browns were penalized more than more yards.
That's what's more penal So.
Speaker 6 (13:59):
If there was like one pass interference.
Speaker 5 (14:02):
Yes, and they had for more yards, it was more
penal to them.
Speaker 6 (14:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:08):
Hm, I mean, I mean, look, I realize how we're
doing this like we wanted to do it in the
first segment because LeVar is not here. We're leading towards
Jonahs winning. This is one that's one hundred percent debatable.
Like if you if you looked at in a meeting
room after a Sunday game, you wouldn't care if you
had twelve penalties and it was for sixty yards, right,
(14:32):
like you care how many yards of penalties you actually
took away from yourself, and it's.
Speaker 6 (14:37):
A lot of infractions, though you'd probably look at like
what first downs that are given up? Do you have
a penalty kind of thing?
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Yeah, I feel like it's just like the total yards.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
I mean, especially like ones that are painful like that.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
I mean, look a parking ticket, maybe fifty.
Speaker 5 (14:52):
Bus right, Well, let's go to number four because that's
a little bit debatable. So I think I know where
this one's adding up to. So let's say Jonas doesn't
get that rightly, what's the count?
Speaker 4 (14:59):
Then?
Speaker 6 (15:00):
Well, LeVar, maybe me look like a foo last night
by saying none of the above. On this one, we
asked about landmarks that we would see first in the broadcast.
Would it be Rocky Statue, Liberty Bell, or either Gino's
or Pats. Did you see Pats? Because I went through
the whole broadcast, I did not see any of these.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
I didn't see any either.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
I was more, I'll be honest with you.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
I was more.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
I was a little shook because I was listening to
the great job Ross Talker was doing on NFL Network,
and it just he didn't strike me as the type
of guy who deserves to be assaulted by LeVar Arrington
when he's a rookie like that.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
That was my big takeaway.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
But again, some people take different things from preseason games,
and maybe I'm just on an island here.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
I love Ross Ross's you know, he's Ivy League offensive lineman.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
Yeah, my uncle was an.
Speaker 5 (15:46):
IVY League offensive line and they kind of have a
similar cadence the way they talk and just how they
deliver information.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
So he's always reminded me of my uncle, who had
a big influence on my life.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
So love Ross talker.
Speaker 5 (15:56):
Yeah so wait, no one got that one right at
number four? Yeah, well, so hold only is it a push?
Then it depended on the penalty one. Is that what
we're saying? And then obviously Jonas is trying to lobby
you into making it.
Speaker 6 (16:08):
What if you were to go from my stance, I
would say it was a push on the Well, LeVar
demanded that none of the above because he's the rainy
chance he got last season. So yeah, he took that one,
which I'm against the whole none of the above, but
I'll give it to him, okay. And then are we
saying a push on the on the penalties or no.
(16:28):
We can't say push, we.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Gotta Here's my argument if I.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
Got But here's what's on the line. If Jonahs gets
a right, does he win?
Speaker 6 (16:38):
Lee, Well, we're establishing ground rules for the rest of
the season. That's correct.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
But if Jonahs gets a right, does he win?
Speaker 6 (16:45):
He is gonna win either way.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
It doesn't matter. But we should still establish ground all right.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
So here here's my argument against number of penalties over yards.
So if you get one parking ticket and it's two
hundred dollars as opposed to ten parking tickets, that may
equal out less than two hundred dollars depending on where
you live. It feels like it feels like somebody's got
(17:12):
a problem and somebody just made a mistake that costs
them more. So I would look at it as number,
not yards. That's how we should decipher what counts as
more penalties.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
I'm just saying which one's more penal.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
I mean, look, the way we judge penal on this
show varies from person to person.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
I can tell you that right now, All right, if you.
Speaker 5 (17:35):
Want to go number from now on, that's fine by me. Okay,
let's just let's just all remember that Jonas asked for this.
If it becomes a prop that because we sure as
well know you'll try to change the rules that hold.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Are we setting this in stone right now?
Speaker 4 (17:49):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (17:49):
Because you're you're ass doesn't win enough, hold on, you
need to cheat?
Speaker 4 (17:53):
All right?
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Then I need some time to think about this, all right,
I need to I need to reevaluate this.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
Go ask the bum that League kicked out near his uh,
near his apartment, and ask him what he thinks about it.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
Okay, yeah, Lee, if you could get that bums penal thoughts,
we'd appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
It would help us out on this show.
Speaker 6 (18:12):
He'll definitely have some thoughts on that.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
That's the Yeah, that's the important stuff here.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
He moved back in or is he gone?
Speaker 6 (18:19):
Uh? There's a lot of movement in neighborhood.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
You know Brady Brady Coincidentally enough, Yes, and he's doing
karaoke a to a local bar.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Could you believe that?
Speaker 1 (18:26):
It's amazing how that works? It is two pros and
a cup of Joe here on Fox Sports.
Speaker 6 (18:33):
Lam took it off because he finally lost. That's why
I'm I'm guessing he took today off.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
I just hope he didn't have a hiccup in his day.
That's what I hope.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Hard right hand by Quinn, I'm sorry real quick.
Speaker 6 (18:46):
Did we come up with an answer?
Speaker 4 (18:47):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Yeh yeah, we'll figure it out.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
We'll figure out no, no, no no. Jonas wants it
to be what he wants.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (18:53):
So he he wants it to be most penalties, not
most penalized yards.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
So even though it team.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
Gonna have like one hundred and fifty yards and penalties
because they had a bunch of past interference, he wants
to do the most penalties.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Death by a thousand cuts.
Speaker 6 (19:07):
I'm all for it.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
Well, it would be death in that case. It just
be you know, you know, a few penalties.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe. Here
on Fox Sports Radio, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here.
You can listen to this show as always on the
iHeartRadio app. So we are gonna have the usuals coming
up later on. We've got another edition of In case
you missed it. We've also got some over unders as
we look ahead to a busy weekend in the NFL.
We've got you any of you out, Plus Bruce Feldman's
gonna stop by. He's got his Freaks list out, which
(19:33):
is phenomenal every single year. The person who's number one
on this list is frightening. So we're gonna talk with
Bruce as well too. It's all yours, a three hour
extravaganza here on Fox Sports Radio. But apparently there's a
team in the NFL who's got another concern when it
comes to injuries on the roster, and it could derail
(19:54):
the entire season.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
We'll tell you who that is. That's next.
Speaker 7 (19:59):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
Says Tupac, I think this is like the Iowa Irish version.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
Oh yeah, yeah, they got pitchforks as Banjo's.
Speaker 6 (20:22):
This is the Pogue's, a very popular Irish ban for
the nineteen eighties.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
So little you guys know, I was kidding adenis was
you know? Oh God, I gotta be careful, man, I'm
telling you do not you know?
Speaker 4 (20:35):
Are Brady okay? Brady?
Speaker 2 (20:37):
Do you ju? He's the des Moines.
Speaker 5 (20:43):
He's the only person I know that tried to explain
to LaVar and I our exact setup when we were
in Iowa City doing a radio show where you could
not find Sam whatsoever. Yet he tried to explain to
LaVar and I the exact bar in situation, and we
were in broadcasting from.
Speaker 6 (21:01):
I have been in that hotel many times.
Speaker 5 (21:03):
It's near and that does not mean you were actually
back in the janitor's hallway.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
Closet where LeVar was is.
Speaker 6 (21:09):
A kitchen hallway, and he showed me picture.
Speaker 5 (21:11):
It's not because he had all sorts of janitorial supplies.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Sam Brady was there.
Speaker 4 (21:17):
I was actually there.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
I don't understand what's happening.
Speaker 4 (21:21):
It's so weird.
Speaker 5 (21:23):
But this is this is why when we look around
the country and we realized, like people can't get along,
it's because of morons like Sam No, no claim something
when they're actually not even They're like, no, I'm suited
before man a bit. I was like, no, dude, you
were not there. You were not actually there for this.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
You weren't there?
Speaker 6 (21:43):
Yeah, telling you some bug flying around my face.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
It's two pros of a cup of joe here on
Fox Sports Radio. Weird LeVar Arrington not here, Brady Quinn
is here, Jonas Knox is here.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
I don't worry.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Sticks will be back next week. You know, we did
a I forget to mention something a few moments ago.
When we open up the show. It's a football Friday.
Oh yeah, you bet your sweet ass, the football Friday.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Oh yeah, Jonas straight in Iowa City.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Depend on who you asked.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
Jonas at turntable is on a mop bucket turned upside down.
Speaker 5 (22:23):
Yeah, yep, yeah, come on, go Bengals, Go Falcons, Go Panthers,
Go Giants.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Yeah, it is a football Friday here on two pros
and a cup of Joe and uh, It'll be a
football Friday until the end of time.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
That's the way we're calling our shot here.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
All right, So you mentioned something in our pre show
notes which is something worth mentioning. I believe Toront Armstead,
by the way, the offensive lineman for the Dolphins, went
down with an injury scare yesterday. But apparently it's some
good news. They like, he's not going to miss anything.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
I don't know anyone getting injured is good.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Now, well he's gonna be they say he's going.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
To be available for Week one, right, So there is
some optimism there that they avoided something catastrophic and he's
not going to miss the entire season or several weeks.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
Or anything like that.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
But you kind of brought up something that I think
is puts Miami and the coaching staff and also to
a tongue of bi loo and kind of a kind
of a precarious spot here, you know, kinda what if
he suffers and what if he gets dinged again another concussion?
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Well then what right? I mean, where you're removed?
Speaker 1 (23:40):
How long does the stigma of you can't play him
or he can't play for a significant amount of time
after another concussion?
Speaker 2 (23:50):
How long does that need?
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Does there need to be a gap between concussions before
all of a sudden it's okay for that to happen again.
Speaker 5 (23:58):
I mean, look, I'm not not gonna have any sort
of medical opinion on.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
This, and everybody else does it. Come on?
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Yeah, well let me go on Twitter and just start
typing on some stuff. Let's do it or X or
whatever we're calling it.
Speaker 5 (24:10):
All I know is the more you get, the greater
chance he has of his career being over and it
taking longer for him to be you know, coming back,
because you know, it's gonna the medical community is not
going to let him come back even if he's not
showing any symptoms from his most recent recent concussion.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
That's just how they're gonna handle. They're gonna be much
more cautious with each one.
Speaker 5 (24:32):
And I think based on how last year's a couple
of concussions looked, it was scary in one instance for people,
but beyond that, the league.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
Probably the league's always overly concerned.
Speaker 5 (24:44):
With his image, whether people want to believe that or not,
and that was an instance where they've always been concerned
about head injuries. They've always been concerned about CTE, and
they they needed to be overly cautious.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
With how things were handled Tua.
Speaker 5 (25:01):
So and the reason why this came up in our
conversation before the show is toront Armstead is a great player.
If he's not there, you're gonna have less of a
player obviously protecting for Tua. And if there's a question
mark you have about the Dolphins, I think what most
would say the offensive line of least offensively is probably
(25:22):
one of the question marks. And because of that, you know,
can they protect too and Canny stay healthy?
Speaker 4 (25:27):
Like if your biggest questions to his health.
Speaker 5 (25:28):
That's directly correlated to the offensive line and how they play,
and if you don't have your best players out there yet,
it's gonna be a you're gonna have a hard time
protecting him. So my thought was, just, well, what happens
if he does get banged up, if he does get
another concussion, is he out for.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
Two weeks, three weeks, four weeks?
Speaker 5 (25:46):
I mean, who knows, depending on the symptoms and depending
on the severity of it. But because of the history
of concussions, there's a good chance he's gonna miss more
time than he did in the past. And based on
the conversation last year where some people were talking about
how they didn't even know if he should come.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
Back and ever play again. Yeah, I mean literally.
Speaker 5 (26:03):
People were talking about like how Tua should retire. And
I'm sure there's'd be people that bring that stance back
up again. And I mean, let's you know, they're not
gonna list the two, They're just gonna give their their opinion,
but like all that stuff is potentially out there. Should
it happen again.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
This season, Yeah, I just I feel like they're in
a can't win spot and I feel like because it
wouldn't it be possible. Let's say he suffers a concussion
and he's able to be cleared if he were anybody else,
he's able to be cleared within the week leading up
(26:43):
to the next game. I still think they wouldn't play
him like they like. I feel like just the the optics,
all of that surrounding it, it feels like they're kind
of in this no man's land where you just gotta
It's almost like you're at two strikes and you're desperately
hoped and you don't get a third because it's over.
And I just I don't the likelihood he's going to
(27:05):
play the rest of his career and never suffer a
minor concussion, like never get dinged ever again playing in
the NFL. I feel like he's not that he's been
set up to fail, but I feel like the expectations
for why he would get clearance and be allowed to
play have been skewed.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
And I don't know that.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
It's necessarily fair to Tua or to the Dolphins, if
that makes any sense. I just I feel like they're
in a really, really tough spot with where this whole
thing was headed. And I think last year and the
way it played out on national TV. And We've made
the point earlier in the offseason. Man, can he Pikett
suffer two concussions too? Like that didn't get a fraction
(27:48):
of the coverage the two guys.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
Because you know how it is, it didn't look the
way that Tuus did.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
Yeah, and it wasn't on Amazon Prime with al Michael's
complaining about the matchups.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
That's the truth.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
I mean one of those is on Amazon Prime and
he's like his hands are locked up, like Kenny Pickett
was buried in a bunch of other games, but he
still suffered two concussions.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
Never gets talked about like it like Towa does.
Speaker 5 (28:10):
No, it's a great point, and and I'm not sure
al michaels outside of it being in prime time sorry streaming,
but sorry that he's more he should be more excited
about this year's schedules. Nice schedule, we assumed. So yeah,
I mean it should it should go down, you know,
the game should conclude with a nice finish like the
(28:31):
steak he has at halftime.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
That is.
Speaker 5 (28:35):
That is the craziest thing, if it's true, that I've
ever heard about in broadcasts, because you have such a
short amount of time for an NFL halftime. I mean,
I've told you the story when I was was calling
a Bengal Scales Bengals Bears in Cincinnati and I had
stepped out of the booth was running to the bathroom.
(28:57):
There's like a line and I happen to like run
into a lot of people that I knew, and so
I'm talking to different people and next thing I know,
I'm being yelled at there like we're on air, Like
we came back that fast, Like we didn't even have
time to do like a hit coming out from from
like our break. We just kind of got back right
into it and for for kickoff and I'm like running back,
(29:19):
throw my headset on and like the ball's being kicked.
Speaker 4 (29:22):
I'm like, holy cow.
Speaker 5 (29:23):
So it's it's like the thing that you could sit
down and cut up a steak.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
I just and actually enjoy it, like not have to
wolf it down. It's crazy to me.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
I just like, when does it get prepared? Are they
working on it at halftime?
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Is it?
Speaker 5 (29:40):
Well, if you're in Cincinnati, you got you get Jeff Rubies,
You get Jeff.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
A nice steak. That's what I mean.
Speaker 5 (29:45):
You've got to have at that point you're calling someone
within the broadcast crew that there's usually what's called a runner,
and the runner is gonna go out, which is gonna
be tough to do. They're gonna have to go out,
go to Jeff Rubies, go get that fire prepared steak,
and they're gonna have to you know, run back through security,
up the elevator, you know, take it in through like
(30:06):
the metal detectors and all that, and then finally, you know,
bring it to you. But I'm just I'm trying to
picture like a small table with a white tablecloth and
like a big steak knife.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
It can't be plastic. It's not gonna cut it in time.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
And he's got he's got a napkin tucked in his collar.
Speaker 5 (30:21):
Yes, yeah, yeah, And he's just sitting there and he's
got a little little glass of cabernet table Think maybe
maybe there's like a little flower rangent just for the decor.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
I was gonna ask that. So do you think he
goes red wine with the steak at half time?
Speaker 4 (30:36):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (30:37):
You have to, okay, And then and then you've.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
Got herb Street.
Speaker 5 (30:39):
He's just out there grinding, like getting the stats from
the first half, talking to producing the director about when
he wants to see his second half and his thoughts,
and you probably go to the bathroom quick.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
He's like throwing down a hot dog.
Speaker 5 (30:50):
Meanwhile, Michael's just sitting there the whole time in this
beautiful steak.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
Wouldn't you be concerned with like burping when the second
half started? That would be my concern upsurping or hiccut listen.
Hiccups apparently is the new trend. That's the new that's
the new fad that can that can pop up. But
would you be I would be worried about having burps
hiccups like that sort of issue, trying to talk and call.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
You give a button.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
It's so different than what we have now, Like when
you when you rip because you've got you know, gas issues,
You've just you hit the mute button.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
I mean, I don't think we have to air out
everybody's dirty laundry here.
Speaker 4 (31:27):
I'm not air it out, but we all know your
dairy habits.
Speaker 5 (31:30):
When you have a little bit of dairy, all of
a sudden, you become an absolute bomb waiting to go off.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
I'm just I don't know, but I'm just drinking straight coffee.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
That's what I do. I go black coffee. That's the
way I operate, and I use that to get through
the show.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
I've been on Celsius lately due this stuff is delicious.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
Yeah yeah, not a sponsor, not interested?
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Okay, you want to be a part of it?
Speaker 1 (31:52):
That yeah, hopefully it is two pros and a cup
of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. You know what

you missed it, but for all the latest from around
the world of sports.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
Edmund Garcia, you.
Speaker 8 (32:19):
Know, speaking of Gas, I have noticed that Lee seems
to have tamed his ways ever since we moved over
to the new studios. Is that a Is that a
conscious effort on your part?
Speaker 4 (32:30):
Lee?
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Almost like he doesn't have a bad infant because the.
Speaker 8 (32:33):
Old the old studios, I mean, it was just a
constant barrage of Eddie.
Speaker 5 (32:38):
Is there more of a chance of you experiencing Lee's
flatulence in this new studio.
Speaker 8 (32:42):
Well only if he does something when he drops off
some notes that he likes to give me for the show,
the run down, that kind of thing.
Speaker 6 (32:50):
I actually was worried that I bombed you yesterday. I'm glad.
I'm glad there was no report of that, Eddie.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
Why is Lee so proud of it? Because it's so weird.
Speaker 6 (33:00):
I usually cropped ust on the way to Eddie, because
that's why I have a chance to do it. Well,
usually there's somebody else here who starts it and I
finish it. I'm a little more conscientious of Sam because
he's a nice guy.
Speaker 8 (33:11):
Did you crop dust the homeless guy the other day?
Speaker 6 (33:13):
When I would have, I would have. He was across
the street, though, and he scares me with your gas.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
He would have thank for the colonne. I don't so.
Speaker 8 (33:23):
I just was unsure if there was some sort of
memo scent. You know, new studios, Let's try and keep
them as nice as possible for as long as.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
I actually have.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
I thought it was maybe maybe the it was contagious
in the other studio, but with Berto not here.
Speaker 8 (33:36):
Yeah, that could have. I thought that could have been
a factor as well. Roberto he and just you know,
going back and forth influence.
Speaker 5 (33:42):
Yeah, you're saying there was like a hierarchy of farting
between you and Berto.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
Yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 8 (33:50):
The competition. I think we would like to call it
a friend of this competition.
Speaker 4 (33:53):
There's less porn on the TVs.
Speaker 6 (33:57):
That's true, Damn you, Sam, Sorry, I bring some standards
pace God for PID.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
We don't see Michel Douglas as often.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
Yeah, it's very true.
Speaker 8 (34:08):
Major League Baseball. We didn't have a lot of Major
League Baseball games actually last night, light night on the schedule.
But the Dodgers were in action and they continued their
winning ways eleven in a row now. After a one
nothing win over the Brewers, the only run of the
game came on an Austin Barnes solo homer in the
eighties first home run of the season. Lance Lynn was
a trade deadline pickup for the Dodgers. He's worked out
well so far, seven shutout innings. In this one, he
(34:28):
and two re leaders combining on a five hitch shutout.
LA gets the three game series sweep. That's three series
in a row. Now that they've gotten a sweep for Milwaukee,
there's still two up in the NL Central race, but
Chicago and Cincinnati and unable to gain ground because they
had the night off. Mariners beat the Royal six to four.
Julio Rodriguez for Seattle five for five, a home run
drove in five. Seattle's just a half game back of Toronto,
(34:50):
who had the night off, for the final wildcard spot
in the America League. Domind Backs defeat the Padres three
to one. Arizona moves one game out in the NL
wildcard race, but they're chasing three teams Miami, Chicago, Cincinnati
again they all had the night off. Red Sox lose
to the Nationals ten to seven. It was the metsal
with the Cardinals four to two. Guardians and Tigers were
postponed doue to rain and news from baseball Chicago. White
Socks shortstop Tim Anderson had his six game suspension for
(35:11):
fighting against Cleveland's Hosira and Mirrors reduced by one game.
Now back to Brady Quinn and Jonas Knocks thetyrack dot Com,

(36:43):
situations that are currently they are dealing with when it
comes to that roster. So we'll get into that for

Speaker 4 (37:11):
Good thing.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
The guys are here to bring you in case you missed.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
It, and for that we turn it over to our
executive producer, Lead.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Lab Dude.
Speaker 6 (37:22):
Morning, everybody, Good morning, Jonas, Good morning Brady, guys. In
case you missed it, Tyreek Hill yesterday revealed a little
bit of a strategy he has before games getting ready
for an opponent. Take a listen.
Speaker 10 (37:35):
Nah, So, so I feel like Madden has a good
tale of how good players are. So I just played
Madden the night before and I go look at all
their ratings. So let's say, for instance, they had Steve
Nelson and Derrick Stanley over there, two phenomenal players. By
the way, I just go get on Madden. I go
to the EA rosters and then I scrolled down and
see what they awareness is. They speed is and they sprint,
(37:58):
and that's how I get a good tail on them.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
Yeah, hey, Brady, that's that's the secret behind Tyreek Hill's success.
It's got nothing to do with the fact that he's
faster than a scud missile, nothing at all. That has
zero to do with anything. It's the fact that he
watches Madden the night before games.
Speaker 5 (38:16):
Well, and yeah, yeah, it almost feels like that's a
bit of a promotion in ways. I don't know deal
with the and Madden or whatever is going on. But
I'm not sure that he's doing anything that couldn't be
replicated out there, Like do you think an offensive lineman's
going and looking at the edge rushers against saying, okay,
let me go look at Madden real quick and see
(38:36):
where this guy's ranked.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
Okay, strength.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
You know, I didn't realize this Nick Bosa guy was
that good. I gotta I gotta get prepared.
Speaker 4 (38:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (38:44):
By the way, the detailed scouting reports you get about
players you're going up against and some organizations.
Speaker 4 (38:51):
Are pretty incredible.
Speaker 5 (38:52):
I mean you see what like scouts see and they
label them how the scouts label them. So they have
all these different colors that correlate to what type of
player they are, what type of player that were coming
into the NFL, and how they've developed in an injury history,
all this stuff.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
I mean it's crazy what' stuff they'll share of someplace.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
If you were one of the people that put that
to gather in the scouting department and took the time
to put all that work in, wouldn't you be kind
of offended? Like, hey, man, like it's right there, I
got more on that. But you want to go play
video games?
Speaker 4 (39:22):
Yeah, that sucks. Again, wonder faster on everyone else. It's
kind of easy.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
Yeah, what else we got to be guys?
Speaker 6 (39:28):
In case you missed it, we've all been wondering who's
going to be starring in the season two of Netflix's Quarterback.
Lots of quarterbacks have publicly turned it down those including
Trevor Lawrence, Dak Prescott to uh, Justin Field's Gino Smith,
Jalen Hurts, Jordan Love, even Joe Burrow. But Boomer Sison
has spilt the beans that Joe Burrow is in fact
going to be on season two of Netflix's Quarterback.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
Why would anybody want to do this in the middle
of the season.
Speaker 5 (39:54):
I mean, I think it could help them grow their brand.
They get to know who that person is. I mean,
I think lot of people came out of the Quarterback
series and they looked at Kirk Cousins different. Yeah, so
I think it, you know, it helps. I mean you
see visions of Kirk because Kirk's a good dude, and
then anyone who in the media who's like hammered him
or people who've gotten on him and say, if you
(40:14):
took the time to know the guy, you know the
way he prepares, the way.
Speaker 4 (40:17):
The way he goes about his business. He works as
hard as anyone.
Speaker 5 (40:21):
So it's I think it sheds a different light on
a player that humanizes it and allows you to probably.
Speaker 4 (40:27):
Make them more likable.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
Could you have done it, Uh?
Speaker 1 (40:30):
Probably not, Yeah, I just I can't imagine you would
want a camera around you at all times where you're
trying to prepare.
Speaker 4 (40:37):
It for domes.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
