You just you just forgot that since we started the show.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Of this hour.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Yeah, what was I gonna tell you?

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Like?

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Literally, I just it was in my mind.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Does that anything to do with like what happened last night?
Maybe maybe what's gonna happen today?

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Yeah, like it did have something to do with today,
and there was something that did take place. I know
what it was. Sorry, I'm a goof. It's a football
Friday fur ass it is?

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yeah? Uh yeah, get it, Sam, get it Sam? Yeah,
come on Lee, come on Lee.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Yeah yep.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Eddie Stanson, Eddie can't help it now.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Eddie likes the old one better and he likes the
last boy Scout better.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
You're the only one who likes the last one.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Eddie leans that way as well too, No, Eddie, are
you a last boy Scout guy when it comes to
football Friday? Jonas? Yeah, this song sucks.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Eddie, Eddie.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
No, they're both fun. They're both a sign that broke
my heart that it is football.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
At t.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Right. I really do hate that song that gets you
pumped off the better, the Last Boy Scout.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I know song just reminds me of jonas.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Well, because I would say this, the reason why the
new song may not pump you up is the old
song is the old song may or may not A
forced a guy to shoot another guy on the field.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Here it is yeah and then you see.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yea this iss Then some guy pulls out a hand
cannon and shoots another guy on the field while they're
playing football.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
How come it was dark? By the way, how come
they were like snow lights on.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
A rainy game? In lights? I want to know how
no one knew he had a gun in his pants?

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Yeah that's true.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
I mean did he just.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Like there's no there's no cup checks or anything. Apparently?

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Well, I know, back then, like everyone used to wear
like the hip pads and all these pads.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
So maybe it like it hit the.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
He was it was like a like a revolver.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
What's the movie?

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Do you guys consider Last Boy Scout a football movie
or is it a murder mystery or a crime action movie.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
It's a football movie without much.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Football Okay, So is it kind of like because I
feel like Bruce Willis is involved in a couple of
these controversies because.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
It's, yeah, it's a hard Christmas movie. Yeah, a movie
during Christmas.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
So is The Last Boy Scout a football movie? Or
is it an action movie that's got some football scenes?
I kind of feel like it's a little bit more that,
but yeah, yeah, so there's at least we cleared that up.
So don't tell us we never did nothing for you
here on a Friday morning, but it is two pros
and a cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio

(04:23):
and listen. We did have a preseason game last night.
It finished in a tie because in the preseason they
don't go to overtime. So thank you for anybody to
bet on the over. You can thank kaide York for
crapping his pants twice on two consecutive field goal attempts.
The first one he whiffed. The second one he got
an opportunity on because there was a penalty on the

(04:44):
first one, and he still missed that. So and I'm
just saying, just throwing some names out there. You got
guys like Mason Crosby and Robbie Gold that are sitting
around just waiting their turn. So if you're Cleveland Browns,
want to make a call and they feel like they're
competitive team this year, but they need to be able
to depend on somebody. Robbie Golds never missed a kick
in the playoffs in his entire career. So I feel like,

(05:07):
if you've got a kid York problem, there's some stuff
out there that could solve those solve those problems for
the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah, Look, they've invested into the young man. You gotta
give him a shot to go through the growing pains
and grow from it. This is only the preseason. I
don't know that we need to overreact. You know, some
of these kickers are tough minded.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
I mean, I'm a Phil Dawson guy. But if York,
then you do what you gotta do.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Phil is so clutch he was. He was such like
a leader too. You don't see many guys like that.
I told you the story like he I remember my
rookie year. We talked a lot about, like you know,
everyone gives a different story for how people need to
step up, and he talked about I believe it dated

(05:51):
back to the Revolutionary War, and he talked about the
guy who carried the flag how some basically when that
guy got shot, someone would put down their rifle when
they pick up the flag, and it just showed you
the significance of holding up the flag.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
And so we kind of used that as like a
mantra of you.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Know, carrying the flag, picking up the flag, like you know,
whenever something someone you know went down, something happened. Kind
of like that, it goes along on the next man
up mentality. But he was the one who kind of
gave us the history lesson. I'm probably butchering and right
now not doing any justice, but I remember we had
a flag made for that season. Now everyone's number on
it and all that once they've gone through final cuts.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
It was pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
But I had never been a part of a team
that had a kicker that was that respected like Phil was.
Phil was such a awesome, awesome guy and good leader
of a football team too.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
And by the way, is Texas kicker you because you
got Phil Dawson justin Tucker? Isn't Dick or the kicker?

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Is he still a floating around or I don't know
that they get enough credit for their kickers.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, So who knew something else we solved and figured
out here on the show this early in the morning.
But who cares about that game last night. That's in
the past. Now we need to move ahead towards the
games this weekend because we've got a slew of NFL
preseason games this weekend. And it brings up the point,
what are you looking forward to most when it comes

(07:16):
to NFL games this preseason? So we've each got a
couple of things out there that are of interest of
us to us that we're going to be looking at
this weekend in the NFL preseason. So Brady Quinn, nobody
breaks down preseason football like two pros and a cup
of Joe. So let's what jumps out to you things
to watch as we get ready for a full slate

(07:38):
of games this weekend.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Well, let's start with tonight on NFL Network. If you
have the Carolina Panthers taking on the New York Giants.
Will Pryce Young be protected better than what we've seen
thus far? Everyone was worried about his slight frame. If
you can take the beating that he's going to be
getting himself into in the NFL, We're going to know
other oppertunity to see how these two teams score off

(08:02):
and how they match up. As I said earlier, I
do think it'll be a point of emphasis for the
offensive line in Carolina. I don't know that they're going
to put meaning the Carolina Panthers. I don't know if
they're going to put him, meaning Brice Young in many
positions where he's going to be put at risk. There's
no point. Get him to Week one, let him be healthy.
You can start game planning then. So that's what I'm

(08:22):
most interesting to see is the protection of Bryce Young.
If the Panthers have improved, and then what this offense
is going to kind of morph into. It look like
a lot of changes on the outside around the Bryce
Young to add him some talent, So can they be
more productive than what we saw in his.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
First preseason game.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Now we've gotten some mixed signals, I'm going to go
with the San Francisco forty nine ers because Kyle Shanahan
said yesterday, or he said earlier this week. Actually on
Wednesday he said that, look, Sam Darnold's going to get
the start, He's going to play the first half. And
then yesterday he's on local radio in the Bay Area

(09:01):
and he says, well, you know, brock Purty might might
get a few snaps as well too, But Sam's going
to finish the fest of the rest of the first half,
so it's almost like he's throwing a couple of different
things out there. But my big question is, and you
pointed this out earlier this week, this is an offense
where virtually every quarterback can shine in and Sam Donald's

(09:21):
got all the talent in the world. If Donald goes
out there and plays well and plays significantly better than
Trey Lance did a week ago, what are we talking
about with Trey Lance? Has he all of a sudden
become the third quarterback on this team? And could this
be a major opportunity for Sam Donald to sort of
synch that up as the forty nine ers are going

(09:41):
to be taken on the Denver Broncos coming up on
Saturday night.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Great question. I'm going to go back to tonight's game
seven thirty pm in Atlanta, the Falcons hosting the Cincinnati Bengals.
It's the debut of Piejon Robinson out of the University
of Texas. Look, he is an absolute mismap nightmare, and
I'm most curious to see how they're gonna utilize in
the passing game. People tend to forget Atlanta ran the

(10:05):
football ton last year with Tyler out here, Cole Darryl
Patterson as well, so they've got some depth there to
a running back. As much as I know they're going
to give Jon Robinson some carries, I'm more curious to
see though, out of the backfield screen game, you know,
out as a wide receiver, how they look to try
to find some of those mismatches for him. You don't
want to put him out there too much, right, just

(10:26):
get him healthy the week one, But most curious to
see Jon Robinson's impact in Atlanta, and I think he'll
give you a glimpse maybe into the Rookie of the
year or at least offensive rookie of the year, and
where Jon Robinson fixed into that mix.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
All right, So Andy Reid's strategy or his belief rather so.
Andy Reid said that the chief starters, including Patrick Mahomes,
will play the first half, some of them and probably
meaning Patrick Mahomes are going to play maybe a little
bit less than the first half, but they'll be playing
the first half against the Cardinals. Kind Of an interesting

(11:02):
move by Andy Reid considering how concerned everybody is with
getting their starters injured in the preseason. Yet Reid's like,
we want the reps, We're going to throw them out there.
So I just want to make sure that Patrick Mahomes
and those starters get through this preseason game against Arizona
healthy and in one piece, because it would be a

(11:22):
bit of cruel luck if what's going to be the
worst team in the NFL ends up ruining the season
for what could be the best team in the NFL
in a preseason game.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Great point, Great point. Yeah, how about Saturday eight pm
the New England Patriots head to lambeau Field to take
on the Green Bay Packers. First off, seek Elliott, the
new signing there in New England, will get any burn
time and what we would look like too in a
Patriots uniform after was a pretty productive career during his

(11:52):
time in Dallas. But Jordan Love, I mean, it's something
to continue to keep monitoring how he looks running this offense,
within this offense on a Patriots team that I don't know,
if they're going to show a lot, it's gonna be
usually typically a lot of man coverage, not to get
off on a sidetrack though, But that's kind of what
you see a lot of times in preseason football. You
want to see if guys can match up, if guys

(12:14):
know what the responsibilities are, if they could do their job,
if you're the New England Patriots in particular, but just
curious to see, you know, Jordan Love as we head
into this season, how he continues.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
To handle taking over from one.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Aaron Rodgers all right, my last one. And by the way,
we know that obviously. The story is the Baltimore Ravens
and their twenty four game win streak. But they're playing
Monday night, so we got a full show on Monday
to preview that. That's everybody just relaxed. Bucks Jets, so
apparently things were so bad at practice between the two

(12:47):
Mike Evans referred to it as the most fights he's
ever seen in a training camp practice. You've got an
assistant coach for the New York Jets who got cracked
and had to go to the hospital, showed back up
in an armbrace next day. It was so bad that
the New York Jets canceled Thursday's practice, So then the

(13:07):
Tampa Bay Buccaneers had to practice at the Giants facility,
and so it just makes me wonder if things were
that contested and if things were that heated during the
week at practice, what's it going to be like in
an exhibition game on Saturday night. So I'm looking forward
to that. I want to see how shippy and how
spicy things get between these two teams when they actually

(13:30):
suit up Saturday at seven thirty Eastern time.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Yeah, do you think.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
It'd be a lot of fights through the game?

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Throwdown?

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Baby?

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Why not? If you're one of those players, like a
backup fringe guy, and you're trying to make the roster,
are you not just going to want to take somebody's
head off to get noticed and have your teammates show
you some respect, Like, hey, he took a cheap shot
at me during practice during the week, and you lit
that guy up. In fact, you turn that guy into
one of those guys in the Midwest riding a snowmobile,

(13:59):
drinking too much many beers, getting his head ripped off
by a fence.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
My goodness.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Yeah, okay, you guys brought it up now, I mean
last one for me. It's a two pack of games, okay,
And I'm gonna talk about Saturday we've got the Miami
Dolphins headed to Houston tick on the Texans and the
Chicago Bears playing the Indianapolis Colts at seven pm on
Both can be seen.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
On NFL Network.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
The rookie quarterbacks want to see Anthony Richardson just play
more consistently at a high level like we saw in
some of those big splash plays and really eliminating mistakes.

Speaker 4 (14:31):
This young man has.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
All the ability in the world, and it's I'll gona
curious to see if that Bear's pass rush before what
they have in their first preseason game, like nine sacks
or whatever.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Yes, like that.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
We'll see how the offensive line holds up with the Colts.
But I just love watching these rookie quarterbacks as they
kind of solidify, you know, their their spot as the starter.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
And getting ready for the season.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
And obviously CJ Stroud, you know, want to see how
he handles Vic Fangio's defense.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
Not easy to go up against.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
I'm not sure the doll if it's a really game
planning for the Texans, if you were going to this
would be the game in the preseason. Now that you
do it, it'd be the number two game, and you prepare
your starters and all your players for that typical game
week as far as what the week looks like and
scouting reports. But the Ceetey Stroud, I think he's gonna
have a much better performance than what we saw in
his first preseason game, eliminate some of those mistakes, and

(15:22):
again another guy preparing for being the guy this upcoming season.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
So there it is. You probably thought to yourself, why
should I care about the NFL preseason this weekend? We
just told you why. We just gave you a damn
list of reasons why you should care, and games and
things to watch. Here on two pros and a cup
of Joe. He's Brady Quinn, I'm Jonas Knox with you here.
And by the way, let us tell you about Countdown

Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six eastern three am Pacific on

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Here on Fox
Sports Radio. We are going to close up shop with
another edition of You and You out coming up here
in about twenty minutes from now. But right now, let's
make some noise for the Great Bruce Feldman. Yeah, Fox
College Football reporter. You can really see his work at
the Athletic. He is a best selling author. You can

(17:26):
get him on Twitter or x or whatever the hell
they're calling it now at Bruce Feldman CFB. Bruce, we
appreciate you waking up early with us and hanging out
with us here on a Friday morning. How are you?

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Oh, I'm good. I'm I was excited when I got
the call. Brady never might here on this show, so
I am. I am honored.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Bruce.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
I don't know why we have to do this. You know,
I love you, buddy.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
I'm always trying to get you involved. I'm just trying
to like let you sleep out on the West Coast.
You've got a busy family. Every time I call Bruce,
one of his kids is involved in some activity. And
Bruce is a great dad, so he's always there like
taking them to it and we're talking about, you know,
just dad stuff, but we hardly ever get to talk
about what is I personally believe this to be the

(18:10):
best if you're into college football, this is the best.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
Article you're going to read all year.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Bruce, how would you describe not only the article itself,
but just the amount of time that goes into it.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
It's something that work on for you know, months, and
I kind of pick at it and work on it,
and then as we get closer to the season, it's maybe,
you know, that's the one thing that I'm kind of
just grinding a way at for like the last months
maybe heading into it. And I am grateful for the
way people have responded to it, not just the readers,
but coaches, especially strength coaches, but NFL scouts, and that's

(18:47):
been it's been fun to see how this thing has
grown over the last almost twenty years now. And you know,
it's probably the thing I'm going to be most known
for for for this work wise, and I'm and I'm
you know, I'm cool with that, just because it was
something that started out with ten guys. Now it was
one hundred and now it's one hundred and one. I
saw that, and I I, uh, it was because I

(19:09):
got a call from a a coach late right before
you're about to publish, and I asked my end. I'm like, hey,
I got a guy who like vertical jumps, like forty
over forty forty three inches or something. Do we have
room for him? You're like, yeah, and then we're about
to bump off a guy and they were like, I
don't know if I want to bump off a guy
named Neck was a nose tackle in soft Least Louisiana.

(19:31):
So we added to one oh one.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Yeah, so let me just add a clarification too. It's
called the Freaks List. Yeah, edgy headline, but when you
read it, you'll understand why there's these college kids who
have super human strength. They're super fast, they're super athletics,
super agile. Bruce really goes into depth about a lot
of these young men and really how they transformed their bodies,
in some cases pretty dramatically.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Not to cut you off, Jonas, I do want to.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
I do want to touch on one more thing though,
as far as Bruce and the amount of work that
goes into this because you wrote about and I know
his last name is Harbor's. It's the wide receiver who's
going to what South Carolina as a freshman this year. Yeah, yep. He,
like Bruce was at one of our games looking for
this kid as a recruit. I think we're in Michigan

(20:18):
for that.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
We were. It was our first trip to Michigan last year.
That's good. Memory, Brady Nicholas Harbor is the kid, and
so in the pregame, you know, we're I'm down on
the field especially you know, those guys are way busy.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
And the fruit shied up the recruits. This is great.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
And so I remember talking to Mike Loxley Maryland was
playing Michigan and that both those schools were in it,
and he was taking his official visit to Jan Harbor,
and Locksley had kind of pointed him out, like holy cow,
because this guy is a legit ten to one hundred
year guy in high school. He's only people think he's
on the Olympic radar. Yet he is six ' five now,

(20:56):
he's two hundred and forty three pounds, and he looked
like a powerful now. I mean, I just could not
believe how big he was, knowing how fast he was,
and you know, a big get for South Carolina that
they got him to leave, you know, the DC area
to come down there. But I mean, I've never had
a true freshman number one on the list. And there's

(21:17):
a guy I knows, the tight ends coach at South
Carolina who used to be at Alabama, and he'd been
around Julio Jones and Derrick Henry, and they were talking
about both those guys, and it's like, this guy's way
bigger than Julio Jones, and it's like a full second
faster than Julio Jones was, you know, running one hundred,
which full second is a lot. So I was a
coach man, can't wait to watch this guy actually play now.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
So I'm not trying to be insulting to South Carolina,
but how did Shane Beamer pull this off? How did
they if he had forty offers from all over the
country and he's this much of a freak so much
of these number one on your list as a true
freshman and your eyeballing him before a game in an arbor,
how did he end up in South Carolina, which you

(22:01):
wouldn't anticipate would be one of the destinations for a.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
Recruit like this now, I mean, look, we thought it
was gonna come down to Maryland and Michigan, and because
that kid's from there, to get him to go to
this is a little different than Genevian Clowny, the number
one recruit who's from rock Hill, South Carolina, going to
be a game cock. But yeah, credit to Shane Diemer.
I mean he's got kids buying in we'll see. You know,

(22:26):
they certainly can sell a good game day atmosphere in
the SEC and they've had some nice wins. But it's
it's not like he was going to Georgia. It's not
like he was going to LSU Alabama. So it was
to me it was a big surprise. You got the
five star kid who's a really unique talent. It's a
huge get for them.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
Bruce, I want to take you through, or have you
take us through, some of the other athletes that are
in this list that you feel like kind of stand
out to you. I mean, you've done this for years
and obviously there's we could talk about bench, we talk
about squad, there's other tests and things like I think
the one that stuck out to me was is it
a it's a Michigan defensive back, right, the one who
did the is it the L drill that he had

(23:09):
such a ridiculous time that no one's ever heard of before.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
Yeah, And that's the thing. The one great thing that's
been about this thing in the last couple of years
of Michigan has been awesome about this has been providing
actual video evidence in some of this stuff. So what
you're talking about, Brady is Amarion Walker, who's a really long,
tall corner sixty three, one hundred and eighty pounds, was

(23:33):
a freshman last year and his three cone drill time
is six point one to zero. And for context of that,
last year, Jackson Smith and Jigbow was the fastest than
anybody at the combine and it was six point five seven.
The combined record was set twelve years ago by a
guy named Jeff Mail. It was six point four to two.

(23:54):
So the fact that this is three tenths of a
second faster is a huge gap. I don't want to
say it's like that'd be like somebody running US three
three ninety, but that's, you know, pretty remarkable. You see
video of this, this kid doing it is kind of
mind blowing, and you know that that's one of them.
And with some of these tests, like I think most people,

(24:16):
especially twenty years are going to start doing this, knew
what's a really good forty time. They knew what's what's
a lot in terms of you know, bench in two
twenty five or what they do on the bench. What
we see a lot now because of the GPS and
the catapult stuff is how fast somebody runs miles per
hour wise, and so a few weeks a few weeks ago,

(24:38):
I remember I was talking to the offensive coordinator at
Byuner said, who do you guys got or do you
have anybody who's could be here? And he started raving
about a young left tackle. They have Kingsley Simataiah, who
is six six three twenty five, and he goes, he's
the most fatted kid I've ever been around. And by
the way, d Yu had a kind of six '

(24:58):
eight offensive lineman who jumped more better than anybody at
the combine last year of all the linemen, and he
was like wow. I was like, wow, better than that kid.
And so I talked to their sports science guy and
he was like, this guy at three twenty five, it's
faster than our linebackers. And he said last year he
ran twenty one five miles per hour, which is actually

(25:18):
a really good time. If he was two hundred, If
he was one hundred, people.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Like ridiculous, Like that's ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
That's a grizzly bear.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
I mean, that's that's basically a small car driving twe
over twenty miles an hour.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
That's unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
It's amazing, Bruce, Can I ask you this though, is
there ever, because like you know, I saw a video
of the Turkish get up, which, for people who don't
know what that is, basically you're laying on your back,
you're holding up a dumbbell in one arm. I believe
it was Chris Jenkins for Michigan, who you wrote about,
who's in this, and you have the video.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
Of him actually doing it.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
He's holding one hundred and seventy pound dumbbell in one
arm and you basically stand up from a position. There's
a manner in which you do it, and then you
go you get back down and roll back down your back.
And he did this with one arm one hundred and
seventy pounds, which is freakish. But is there anything that
even you kind of looked at and go all right,

(26:15):
that's kind of a first or like I didn't think
or expect to be like reading that or hearing about this.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
I mean, the Turkish scat up thing is taken off
with this thing in like the last three years, because
it's just you know, it's big in the big ten apparently,
you know, because but those to see it, like the
video of that really just I don't want to say
went viral. I don't want to over overdo it. But
it's like when people saw the video and it was like,
holy crap, look at this, you know kind of thing,

(26:43):
and then you get these discussions about it, and Brady,
I have to tell you the discussion that we had
at home because your name came up Hell in this
what up? Oh man. I don't know if it's a
great discussion or not, but like it would have started
an argument inside your house kind of thing. Okay, So
i'll tell you offline. At so because I showed my

(27:07):
wife's video and she was like, and I was like, listen,
I could give you a bottle of wine, and I'm
not sure you could do this, and he goes and
then she so, as we're talking about this and getting
into this, and I said, well, you know, that's one
hundred and seventy pounds dumbo. Most human being can't even
lift it off the rack. And so as she started

(27:27):
telling she she went and put on the cape for
your wife and goes, well, I bet you Alicia could
do it. I was like, well, you know what Brady
once told me. He didn't think Alicia was like a
great athlete, or whatever.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
First Off, first off, that is not that is not
what I said to you. I said she is a
she's a very well trained athlete. Did say she wasn't
a great athlete. And by the way, what this was
in reference to is I said, Joe, play like any
time you're playing any sort of sport in volse HANDI coordination.

(28:02):
She's not really well versed in that. So that's what
Bruce is trying to throw me up the bus for.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
Hey, Bruce, I.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
Mean, look, let it be know. At the record show,
my wife went to the best for your wives in
this conversation, and I tried to take up for you.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Well, yeah, apparently you did.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio, the great Bruce Feldman joining us here.
He's got his new uh it's a yearly tradition, his
freaks list that is out. And I wanted to ask
you this, Bruce about because like a lot of these guys,
I think for the casual college football fan, they'll be
looking through and go, okay, well, these are some under
the radar guys maybe we haven't heard a lot about,

(28:42):
and you're shining a spotlight on him. But Number two
on your list this year is Marvin Harrison Junior. And
I guess this is maybe a generic question for you,
how good is he? Because it seems like everybody's on
the same page that we're talking about one of the
true great to come out of college football that position.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
We'll look at the at the room that Braggy's buddy
has had over their Brian Hartline keeps cranking out first
round talent, not just the first round guys. It's like
we felt like Garret wilfon Alave did. They were about
thousand yard receivers last year. I suspect Jackson Smith and
Jigg was going to tear it up his rookie year.
This guy's the best one. He's the biggest, he's the

(29:25):
most explosive in terms of the guys, you know, running
twenty three twenty three three or sale miles per hour.
His shuttle times are crazy, you know, under four seconds
to be that that lanky and that big. And I
think one thing we ran a Q and A with
him earlier this week kind of kickoff freaks list, and

(29:49):
I think people get to read how his approach is.
He was very impressive, you know, just like in terms
of like he treats himself and carries himself like he's
a pro athlete right now in terms of, you know,
his approach to his craft. And I think those are
the things that I mean, you hate to say somebody
is a sure thing coming out, you know, when they

(30:09):
come out of the out of college to go to
the draft. But I mean, you saw what he did
a couple of years ago, and you know he was
when he blew up on the scene. And then last year,
I mean, they're up by two touchdowns on Georgia when
he gets knocked out of the game. He had over
one hundred yards and three quarters a couple of touchdowns

(30:30):
and that's Georgia. That was the best defense in the country,
and you know he was tearing them up, you know.
So I don't think you can overstate how gifted Marvin
Harrison Junior is both physically but also you know, all
the intangibles as well.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Bruce, I'd be remiss if we didn't try to get
just your thoughts on the state of college football and
realignment and everything else.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
I know you've got great perspective on this.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
You've been in the sport for such a long period
of time where do you think this is going? Where
do you think it's headed? Do you have any concerns
about all this?

Speaker 3 (31:04):
I mean I have concerns where it's really unfortunate that
Oregon State Washington State are getting kind of squeezed out.
I don't know what ends up happening with you know,
with Callen Stanford in the mix, because this is this
is just realignment. It's actually conference consolidation now too, and
Philip oregons it's preseason top twenty team. Johnathan Smith's done

(31:25):
a really good job.

Speaker 4 (31:26):
You know.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
I've you know, been to both of those places up
in the Pacific Northwest, and it's unfortunate, you know, the
Pac twelve Conference is you know, just basically imploded, and
that I think there's there's some sad elements of it. Now.
Look on the flip side of it, I can't wait
to see some of these new matchups that are going

(31:47):
to spring up, you know, with the USC and UCLA
joining the pack, joining the Big ten, and you have
Oklahoma and Texas who have left the Big twelve to
go to the SEC next year. I think these are
going to be you know, to get to see both
A and M and U T again and all this
other stuff that I think is good. But what it's

(32:10):
become more is college football is becoming more like the NFL,
at least in that regard. And I still think, you know,
I'm still going to watch the games and still love it,
but I get why certain fans are very uncomfortable with
where it's going. You know, it's just it's different and
it changed is you know, we'll see, we'll see how

(32:33):
it is because I mean, I think this part about
the pack Pack twelve and the and the Big twelve
and certainly the Big Ten in the reforming of these
of these programs, I think football is one thing. I
think the non revenue sports, when the travel comes up
for them, that's a different animal. I think for the
football part, I think it's a little it's it's not
as significant as it's going to be for those other

(32:57):
other sports who have much longer schedules and they don't
make as much money, maybe they don't starter like the
football programs will. So I think that's the stuff that
you know, it's it's different and it's going to be different.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
You see him on Fox. You can read his work
at the Athletic He is Bruce Feldman get him on
Twitter at Bruce feldon CFB. Cannot recommend it enough. It's
a yearly tradition. His Freaks List of college football is out.
Go check it out again at Bruce Feldman c FB.
It's a fun read. You get a you shine a

(33:30):
spotlight on a lot of smaller schools, a lot of
great interesting players and fun stories. And Bruce, we appreciate
you hanging out with us here, even though you may
have caused a problem between Brady and Alicia. We're all
good though.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
I apologize for that. Brady.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
I know we should see you should see Bruce behind
the scenes in our meetings trying to instigate all kinds
of tiff going on. Stern it up, huh, especially with
restaurant recommendations, people and our crew and all that.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Oh yeah, that's the way it goes. Hey, Bruce, you're
the best man. Thanks so much for the time.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
My pleasure. Thank you. Guys.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
There is Bruce Feldman joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. Man,
some of these guys on this list, I don't even
know how it's out possible. I don't get it. How
do you run that fast your three hundred pounds?

Speaker 4 (34:16):
I don't I just I don't know.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
And I'm telling you that's what the reason why this
this list is significant, and the reason why you know
you have someone on like Bruce to talk about it
is even if you're not a college football fan, but
you're an NFL fan. Everyone's reading this. You're gonna hear
about these young men come the draft time next year.
There's gonna be names you just mentioned that you will
hear next year, and you'll see at the combine and

(34:39):
you will be eating it up, and they'll be back referencing.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
An article like this that that Bruce is constructing now
for you.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
It's not like it's a top five or ten list.
There's one hundred and one names on here. And I
would venture to guess, do you think all these guys
get drafted in the NFL with this kind of athletic
gifts that they've got.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
Yeah, man, I'd say, you're you're entering to say, like
a lot of these guys, they'll at least have an
opportunity You at least.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Say that it's awesome. So again, go check that out.

It's kind of Yeah, I guess powerwalking is the same thing.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
Out walker run. You can't do both.

Speaker 4 (37:49):
A lot of hip movement.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Have you ever watched them do that?

Speaker 4 (37:52):
It looks like your hips would be just done by
the end of it.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
Yeah, it's just, uh, Sam, you're a big power walker.

Speaker 8 (37:59):
I'm very good at power walking.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
I leave people in the dust.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
Really Yeah.

Speaker 8 (38:04):
My dog, my dog likes to he likes to trot
very fast, and so I'm not running, but I'm power walking.

Speaker 4 (38:10):
Why won't you just jog?

Speaker 1 (38:12):
Because it's hard.

Speaker 8 (38:13):
I broke my leg seven eight years ago skiing, so
it's hard on my knees when I jog, so I
do a little power Walking's little easier on the joint right.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
Now, one leg, both legs.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
Okay, okay, Brady, it hurts all right. You're a football player.
You should know. Wait a on second, Sam, we were
we were? We weren't there?

Speaker 8 (38:32):
