everybody feeling here on a Monday morning? Whoo, yes, I'm rested.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
I can imagine.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
You know, it's a little a little wild out there,
you know what.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Let's say what that was one of the coolest experiences,
just kind of taking it all in on the way
back and looking back through photos, thinking back through different moments,
I mean, so much fun and fortunately, like if you
don't like sports, I feel bad for you, you know, I
just I really do, because you miss out on great

(02:03):
opportunities just to experience like cool life stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Yeah, that was awesome, just seeing the way Dublin operates
in Ireland and just you know, the how kind everybody
was and welcoming and warm they were, and it just
like I was telling Lebar before the show, it's what
they do is they drink. It's just kind of all damn.

(02:28):
It's just like work a bed.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
The only thing that's a little bit surprising is in
some of the locations the last call is like eleven thirty,
like they're closed by midnight. And there's other places that
are open a little later, but they don't. I mean, look,
I live in South Florida near Miami. There's twenty four
seven clubs, like if you really want to get it
in all day long, like you can, there isn't as

(02:53):
much of that, like they know where to draw the line.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
I'll but put it that way.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Wish I could have partaken well by the way you were.
You were, miss LeVar. I saw the guy Gillis.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Sent. Yeah, he's from p A. After I after further.
You know, big big LeVar Arnton fan.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
I mean he's a bit bigger than a name fan,
but he's a big fan of one LeVar.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Pretty freaking cool man. Yeah, I missed everybody. Gentleman showed
up at the at Buskers, I believe on Friday, I
think it was Friday, showed up with a LeVar Arrington, Washington, Jersey. Wow, yeah,
pretty dope.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
It was the mascot was what.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Kind of I don't know if I could say that,
although who wasn't that just dropped it?

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Uh well one of the guys over there dropped.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Yes, the r work Yeah, we were.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
What are the locals dropped it and I was like, oh,
that's hashtags like oh yeah, sorry about that.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
No, listen, man, A lot of people like that. No,
that was back when we were at the Hozon Horizon Therapeutics
that they were kind as well to me and all
them they were. They were tremendous the entire time there.
So it was cool just to see our football and
their culture embrace our football. Now as far as the

(04:14):
game goes, you know, I mean somebody tried to tell
everybody Notre Dame in the under, I mean that was
that was, you know, giving out some friendly betting advice there.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
You're lucky, You're lucky. They called off the dogs.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
It could have been yeah, maybe.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
I really thought they were going to kind of keep
the pedal down.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
But but it is interesting to see how much football
has grown overseas and see how I mean they people
go overseas. Oh yeah, listen.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Notice was it overseas participation or was it everybody went overseas?

Speaker 1 (04:52):
There was?

Speaker 2 (04:52):
I thought there was both, ye both, Yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
I mean like the cool part was just to like
dig into some like stories from one of the the
taxi drivers was like, no, lad, you don't understand.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
He's like, we don't get these flyovers very often. He's
like when they go through. I was like, oh yeah, yeah, no.
I was like, we we have that like all the time.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
It's America, Like we're always showing off our jets or
helicopters or something.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
They were. They were stoked about that, and.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
So that flyover was bad ass.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
So the national anthem starts and you have to understand
it's really cloudy, like at that point there was a
pretty heavy miss and it's really cloudy. Well, you start
to hear the helicopters that are coming but you can't
see them, and then they appear out of nowhere, and
I've never seen a fly over this close. You can

(05:48):
see waving like literally I looked into the guy's eyes
like I was like, oh, he's got brown eyes.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
We see it. It's that close.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
And at that point, the entire place went nuts, and
it unfortunately wasn't tied up well at the national anthem,
so it trouted it out the last half. But we
did get the Irish or the Ireland national anthem, and
that was just beautiful.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yeah, like that.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
The performer was incredible that moment, it was the whole
thing was just it was just very very well done.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Nice. It's the first time there were some throwback moments there.
It's the first time and I don't even know the
last time I can think of where there was no
wanding when you walked through the door of the stadium.
You just kind of walked in and it was like, yeah,
you're good to go, I want to beer. Uh sure.
There was no security, like, there was no real like
nobody was worried about all right, you know, what weapon

(06:43):
are you carrying in?

Speaker 2 (06:44):
What do you like?

Speaker 1 (06:45):
There was no issue whatsoever. You walked in, you got there.
The setup was awesome. I mean Notre Dame. Fans Lee
and I were walking around after the game, crazy raging
like it kind of went Odre Dame. Huh, oh my god.
Before they were everywhere.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
I'll put it this way, dude, and I can I
can reput we retreat this or you know, repost it
on x or Twitter or whatever.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
We're calling it. I've never seen anything like that.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Like I sat there down on the field with Ryan
Grant and Anthony Vassano and uh Pat Connotton, which you know,
we kind of looked around and just said, man, no
one else can do it like this, like where they
literally take over an entire city like this, And it's
like if there was forty thousand they said that came over,
that wasn't they underestimated that that amount of people. Because

(07:35):
when you saw Notre Dame av is what they called it,
and you looked up and down how packed it was
and how many people were there, it was It's unlike
anything that I've ever seen for a college football game
that's not in the United States.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
It was crazy, had no shot, There was no chance
whatsoever for a Navy and their support group was not
very big.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
No, you, it was non existent, but it was.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
But it was so respectful and and I think the
Navy fans that came over were they kind of understood,
all right, this, this isn't going to go well for us.
But it was such a magical feeling in the stadium
and just in the city the entire time there that
I think everybody acknowledged. Yeah, the game was almost secondary
to the pageantry, the presentation, the build up, the post game.

(08:27):
I mean, but unbelievable. They can throw them back, man,
all guys, all respect to Notre Dame fans, they can
drink their asses off.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
That was the people that were there.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
It was nuts, Like I saw everything from politicians up
through there. Kevin Plank kind of talked for a while
like there was all these today are still an under
armoured team. Huh they know they just reupped. They the
biggest deal and.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Uh who back with Adidas?

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Right, Okay, yeah, they just did that deal, so it's
a ten year deal.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
But it's a huge deal.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
And they just had like such a such a crazy
group of different people who are in town for I mean,
Will Ferrell was in town for with DP and his crew.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
It was just I saw Martin was it Martin Short
was there? Yeah? Yeah, Jade with Martin Short.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
Jade, who's who's one of the unsung heroes here at FSR.
She does just incredible work and helps like any of
these events like they're they're not possible without Jade and
just all her help with everything she had.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
I mean, can I can I air some grievances? I've
got that with some things over there.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
With jade or just no, no, no no, like.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
What's up with the no ac Yeah, we were talking
about this, like there's no circulation. It's some of those buildings.
It's like, come on, we're gonna We're gotta figure this out.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
What do you mean ice for?

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (09:56):
In the hotel rooms?

Speaker 1 (09:57):
What do you need ice for?

Speaker 4 (09:58):
Todd to They had ice.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
It was down on the reception floor. It was I
got a floor three.

Speaker 6 (10:08):
I did go and guy, I did go get ice there,
but they didn't have like an ice bucket.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
That's when I saw him coming from your room whatever
he was doing, My god, can you tell that?

Speaker 2 (10:21):
So this is the other thing.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
My key cards like kept not working, so when you
went there, you had to get a key to your room,
but then in order to get into the fitness place,
you had to go down and have them put a
different access code on that key. Then they had like
a separate room that was really nice with like asana and.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Steam shower, which were very needed. As you can imagine, LeVar.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
It was super nice though, but then you had to
get a separate key for that to get access to
it and to your room. And then for some reason,
the key cards like would stop working after a day
or so to your room, so you'd have to go
back down get another one. Well, we happen to be
out pretty late. This is like three four am in
the morning, and I literally go up to my room
and it doesn't work.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
I'm like, here we go.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
And as I'm going down the stairs, Old Lee big
Lebowski comes fining down.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
And I'm like, what's up man? He's like hey, it's
like father, He's like, where are you going. I was like,
my key's not working.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
He's like okay, and he's like I'm like are you
are you going downstairs or something.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
He's like, it's hanging out, man, Okay.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Really the big Lebowski.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
He's the big let home already.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
He just Lee blended in perfectly.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Oh my god, not really.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Yeah, listen what he's just straight Cali like, Lee is
Lee wherever he's at then, like he's just He's just him.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
It's awesome. I love it.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
Yesterday on the plane, that's one of the hardest I've
ever laughed in my life. I don't know the last
time I've literally cried. I was laughing so hard. We're
sitting on the plane and Lee's so Lee's and there's
four seater. I'm on the outside, Lee's on the inside
to my right, and there's like this little old lady
who's got an N ninety five mask on, and she's
sitting right next to Lee. So at some point during

(12:10):
the eleven hour flight that we were on, Lee fell
asleep and listen, he may or may not have been
licking the lid a little bit while we were flying.
And and so Lee falls asleep, and Lee snores when
he sleeps, and so all of a sudden, and I'm
not paying attention. I'm trying to do something on my computer,

(12:31):
and I just hear the lady going, hey, hey, hey,
can you can you go over that way?

Speaker 7 (12:42):
You're blowing all over me and sorry, And I'm looking
at Lee. He's like on a bott road and I
couldn't I couldn't breathe.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
I was laughing so hard, can you go over that way?

Speaker 3 (12:59):
I thought you're gonna say he ripped because he had
one of the worst smelling farts that I've ever Oh.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Yeah, you have no like he he dropped one in
front of Jade, and I would say that, like we're outside,
and it was one of those ones where he lifted
his leg and shook it out like he didn't he
didn't pass gas. He's starting the motorcycle. He escaped, it
escaped his body. It was almost like Lee, He's like,

(13:26):
all right, you can go now. Listen, We've held you
long enough in captivity. You can go now. And I'm
looking at like going did you really do that? In
Jade's like that really happened, and Lee's like, yeap had to.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
This guy we were at a bar and this guy
came over and to take a photo and he had
to have just ripped one, and like it was so bad.
I couldn't I couldn't smile. And his wife it smelled
so bad, and his wife kept in like I'm gonna

(14:01):
try to take another one, and.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
I'm like I can't do it.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
I was like I can't. I was like trying. I
was trying to, and I was like this is just
gonna be the worst photo ever. You have to deal
with it. I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
I was.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
I'm like allergic to something you're wearing.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Yeah, man, there was, but yeah, the old you got
to get to the airport on time. You really got
to get to the airport on time. With some of
the lines that we saw, like we were able to
use the kiosk to get through, so we were fine,
but there was a lot of people stuck in line
that I don't know how the hell they made their flights.
It was Yeah, it was jammed up. But man, and

(14:36):
now now the big question becomes, does Georgia Tech, Georgia Tech,
Florida State deliver? Like, Yeah, that's a that's a tough
act to follow. Man, what what Notre Dame brought out
and just the everything that came along with it, That's
that's gonna be tough for anybody to follow up. But man,
what a hell of a just display of football and

(14:57):
pride in your team and your university and everything out
and the Naval Academy being there. It was just awesome.
And Lee was there, so that was the most important thing.
Big Lee, Big Lee, BASKI, what are you doing?

Speaker 7 (15:09):
Lee?

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Just hanging out?

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Man? Hanging out? Man? I was like, okay, but the
best is just anywhere we'd go. Man.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
I feel like it was like Lee was like Brad Pitton,
like the Ocean's eleventh series. He always had a beer
in his hands.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Awesome, and they look at you weird, like if you
if you if you're not drinking a beer, it's like
you're the a hole. Like, oh you're not having a beer.
It's like, okay, I guess I will. You just kind
of get sort of I'm not bullied into it, but
just pressure it's okay.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Well at LeVar, I'm I'm sure you can imagine Jonas
was in that position quite a bit.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
You're not gonna not gonna toast I can have a
beer and they're like he's like, oh yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Because al saw the hat. I mean you look the part.
Yeah you like that little blinders, Yeah yeah, bind to
do my best. But it just out here. You go
to a work function and there's it's like an unspoken rule,
like yeah, we don't have a drink. You know you
probably it's okay, but you probably don't have a drink.
Amateur Hour, I mean, but in Dublin, no, you have

(16:08):
to have a drink. You're an a hole if you
don't have a drink. Joe Montana was having drinks.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Oh my goodness, LeVar, do.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
We want to I've been Joe little I've been with
Joe before, Like we talked.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
We had to go on stage to talk for a
little bit and I looked at I looked at Jonas.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
I'm like, Oh, it's gonna be fun. I can't wait
to see what he's gonna say.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Yeah, I was, uh, yeah, Joe Montana one of the
all time grades had a little bit of an issue
with that with equipment.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
There can I say this, Yeah, there's a chair that
kept like falling out. So so Joe at one point
got interviewed during the game. And I don't know if
it was the first I think it was like a
second half maybe, but uh, like someone was saying, hell,
you know, that's the longest interview.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Joe Montana is done.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
Is a part of Notre Dame and you know, quite
as long as we can remember, and the relationship with
the university is as good as it's ever been. And
and I was like, yeah, that was probably that was
part of it. I was like the other it's had
a few drinks.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
I think he was okay, just hanging out, have a
good time.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Yeah he was. He was wes p a ars man.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
You know I'd been to Ailbow.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
Yeah he was. He was getting after it. But but
he was he was fun though, and and the whole
event was you know, that was that was a lot
of fun to get to hang and talk with those
guys and just learn more about the tradition and all
that and get to get Penn State out to one
of those bart played in Dublin.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
Oh, man, what a good time. Yeah, how about Penn
State and Notre Dame. Now that would be and I'd
be ready to go.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
The problem is, like we were talking about, what the
folks that put it on, it's just it's hard to
get to give away a home game.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Yeah, you know, that's.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
What it was.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
It was a good day of home games. So you
gotta find their school that wants to do it. When
you've got a stadium like Penn State doesn't thousand or
some of the others, that's a hard one. That's a
you gotta pay them a lot in order to come
over there, right, and.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
That stadium's too small like for the for those two teams. Yeah,
it's like it's just under fifty two thousand. Man, Notre
Dame Penn State. You need a hundred you need one
hundred grand if you're going to make that happen hunder
grand stand. Yeah, yeah, that is by the way, we
are brought to you by Discover. At the end of
your first year, Discover credit cards automatically double all the

minutes from now here, a great lead on Fox Sports Radio.
After that performance this weekend.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
We walked into a bar LeVar.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
They had like a low ceiling and it was I mean,
you got hit by two things.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
It was like heat, humidity, slashlight just kind of that
smell of like a bar.

Speaker 3 (19:49):
And Lee's like, oh oh, let me send to it
because I was passed out just walking in.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
Yeah, tell me, I'm likely.

Speaker 5 (19:57):
No, it's true.

Speaker 6 (19:58):
I I got faith light, got dizzy in the first
even start drinking like this.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
You know where it was.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
It was a bar called the Foggy Do, and it
was the first one we walked into and he literally
almost passed out upon contact with that like stale air.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Yeah it's uh, but the low ceilings are a thing
out there. If you're tall. You just look like a giant.
Brady looked like a giant surrounding everybody else. They were
they all over all over. Q No, I didn't get
any pictures, nothing like that at all.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Got more, Yeah, you got more. They knew who you were,
they were asking where Todd was, Oh wow, that's pretty
one guy.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
I mean one in Ireland. I mean, you know, one
is more than zero. And and also there was people
that came out for the game that listened to the
show all over. We've met people in West Virginia, Texas, California,
like all those people like and knew the show, like
the show, and that's pretty humbling when you think just

(21:01):
the reach that we've had and then to be able
to have all of that over and you know, people
were asking for you are we're asking next time?

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Guys?

Speaker 1 (21:09):
So far?

Speaker 3 (21:10):
So the first for the first show, I was like, oh,
you know, I'll buy run around, blah blah blah, and
you know that, you know, I pick up the tab
and it wasn't that bad. Right the next day I'm like, okay,
you know, well, but because it was kind of hard
to tell, like how many people are there and all
that stuff, because it was. The bar was packed, but
like again like low ceilings, we couldn't really kind of

(21:31):
see past like the initial like waving group of people
like out back past the bar. I mean that next
tab I got the following.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
Day that was that was extensive.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
It was like five x what the what the day
before was?

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Yeah, it was buskers, was fantastic my budget. I was
ready to go.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Yeah, I was ready to go all because Jonas went
paying for nothing Jonas.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Listen, I will. I was just toasting it up, smiling.
I was trying to be a professional, just putting on
a professional broadcast.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
Were you won during the streets of Dublin with a
black leather jacket and black pants, black shoes?

Speaker 1 (22:11):
What do you come on? Listen? If you don't want
to iron and you want and you've got to pack clothes,
just packed dark clothes because you don't have to worry
about the wrinkles showing up as bad. So yeah, it's
just a lot easier.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
It looked like Gennis is going to a funeral every day.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Yes, single day. Listen, the weather applies. It was applicable.
With the weather. There was just this mist, this sort
of fog, this great darkness to it. It was fantastic
to fit in so perfectly. Yeah, yes, yeah, cheese, it's yeah,
it was. There was some fun stuff out there. Cottage

(22:46):
pie by the way, Oh yeah it God was it
mashed potatoes over like like a shepherd's pie, is it?

Speaker 4 (22:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Kind of like I get like a pot pie with
my potato top. Yeah, it's really amazing. It's really good.
Speaking of which, and thank God for Irish spring, because
Lee and I smelled like framaldehyde and we walked off
the plane and uh, it just it needed to be done.
And we used some Irish spring and now we feel

(23:14):
ripe and fresh as a daisy. Just we needed to
wipe off other people. He definitely did.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
I brought Irish spring with me over there, That's what
I was using.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Oh yeah, I mean, and that fresh scent of Irish
spring and those sensational Irish spring sudge are just the
reset you need to own the day Irish spring. When
the spring hits you, you're ready to pick up Irish
spring at your local retailer today. By the way, good
news for the Houston Texans. They officially have a number
one quarterback at c J Stroud. Stunning development. Demiko Ryan's
making it official.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
C J.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
Stroud will be the starting quarterback for the Houston Texans
as they open up against Baltimore coming up here in
less than two weeks, so, I mean, I'm not really
sure what the what the delay was for. It felt
like we were heading this direction. He played much better
his final preseason games and his initial against New England.
But CJ. Stroud, you're number one QB in Houston for

(24:06):
the Texans.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
I mean, LaVar, you've coached before, so like I kind
of chalk it up to this, but you obviously have
way more experienced coach than I do. But when you're
like a first time head coach in this case with
Demigo Ryans, like I'm sure he feels like, hey, I
can't just give it to the guy because he got
drafted number two overall. Right, And the hard thing is
is is you know c J.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
Stroud, We all know.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Like he's the guy, Like there's no doubt about it. Now,
did he outplay you know, Davis Mills in the preseason.
Probably not, but I think he did enough to allow
you to feel comfortable with him. But like I kind
of just chalk this up to, you know, him being
a first year head coach saying like, I don't want
him just to be given it. He's got to go
out and earn it. I would imagine, as like a coach,

(24:48):
you probably look at it and say like, yeah, dude,
like guys in the locker room have to respect me
and the decisions I make and they can't think I'm
just giving stuff out to people.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Is that how you would see it?

Speaker 4 (24:59):
I mean, at the pro le level, it's maybe different,
you know, And yeah, I mean there's a lot that
goes into it. But I mean I'll say in general,
I guess in general terms or in general fashion, as
a coach, you there are things you want to see
from your quarterback that you focus in on. When I

(25:22):
took over as a head coach of a private school,
first thing I did was identify in the surrounding areas
if there were any kids that were quarterbacks that were good,
that were possibly looking for a school to go to.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Hell, yeah, that was that was the first thing.

Speaker 4 (25:42):
No, no, no, I never recruited never, never recruited, never one,
not one time. But they did get special invites. These
these kids got special invites to camps that I was
throwing where we could you know, you know, yeah, teach
them how the ways of football anyway.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
So happen to have a mailing address that in our district.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Then you start hearing about the whole tuition thing and
how much it is, and then you start to kind
of temper your expectations of who you're going to be
able to bring in based off of great point averages
and amount of tuition that's going to be paid, and
so then you start to look at what you have
and then that that's where it becomes very complex and

(26:29):
complicated as a new head coach is you're looking at
who's there, what's their relationship currently with the players, how
many of these players from last year's team are going
to be a part of this year's team. I mean,
you start to look at a lot of different elements.
So I would say the fact that they drafted CJ. Stroud.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
CJ.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
Stroud comes from from a big program and you got
a new a new head coach that's trying to to really,
you know, make make his more for his old team,
I would say that it would it would have been.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
It would be a long shot.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
CJ.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
Stroud would have to have been pretty pretty, pretty pretty.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
Underwhelming overall to not get that starting job like it
would like in my estimation as a new head coach
with so much to prove and having a reputation in
the market for being a one of the great players
of their franchise. I would just think that Demico rans

(27:37):
is taking into consideration I have to start CJ. Stroud,
regardless of what circumstances I put into it. He has
to earn it or I'm putting them in day one.
If he does not start, If he's not going into
week one starting, I think that that is more of

(27:59):
a headache for the head coach than it is even
for the player himself.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
And you can't take him out right, are you guys
worried that? And we've talked about this before. Defensive head coach,
the way they view the quarterback position maybe a little
different than an offensive minded head coach would be. Demiko
Ryans is probably going into this thinking, I'm just gonna
deal with the growing pains. It's a first year. It's
his first year. We're trying to do this thing right.

(28:24):
Let him struggle and go through whatever he's going to struggle,
and don't be jerking him in and out of the
lineup just if he has a bad game.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
You'd like to believe that that would be the scenario.
This is not a great team, right, He didn't take
over a team that's trying to compete now to win
the super Bowl. And even if that is their mentality,
their success hasn't shown that that's where they are as
a team. So it makes it a little bit and
I mean, maybe you could speak to a little bit
better Q, but I think it makes it easier to

(28:53):
put a quarterback in of a high draft a hot
draft pick nature and allow for them to have those
growing pains. It's it's almost a lot like what Trevor
Lawrence stepped into in Jacksonville. Like, let I mean and
he I think he split time a little bit for
a moment there. I don't know if maybe it was

(29:14):
due to injury or whatever, but I think that you're
in a perfect position to allow a top draft pick
to take their their their you know, their their shortcomings
or they're they're coming up maybe not being as good
in games when you're a team that is trying to
crawl from where the Texans have fallen to.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
I think the tough part is is, like I guess
that this leads me to not compare the Trey Lance situation.
But you know, every every guy who's drafted, especially that high,
there's an expectation that like they're ready to go in
and play right away. I think most players on the
team or veteran guys look at it and say, you know,
we were in this position because things didn't work out

(30:00):
last year, So clearly we need to go with a
younger guy who we can you know, hope can raise
the level of play of all around us. But that
doesn't mean everyone's going to come in and be like
ready to play. Some guys have more experience than others.
Some guys are better, you know, student in that way
to handle certain things, you know, whether it's just kind

(30:21):
of running the offense and being more easily able to
adapt into it, while you know, in some cases others
might not have that down but they're like incredibly athletic
or a big arm and they have these all this
raw talent and abilities. So you know, I think it
all depends on where the quarterback is at.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
You know, CJ.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
Stroup played a lot of football at Ohio State, and
so I think, you know, it's not a matter of
that like he's he's probably ready to go. I think
it was just a matter of like Davis Mills was
a player who played through a lot of adversity in
Houston and it actually played decently well.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Not that bad man like he really.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
I mean, it's not like he really did much to
like hurt them.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
And I think that was the tough part is he's
probably got the respect of a lot of guys in
the locker room for the way he conducted himself and
carried himself. So you know, as a head coach, it's
like you want that to be, you know, a guy
that's still there for you.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
If CJ.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
Stroud gets hurt or if he starts to have a
really really tough time, you can go to Davis Mills
and be more competitive. Like I tend to believe Houston's
gonna be more competitive th they were last year.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
There's no doubt. And it's not just like CJ. Straut.
It's the way like John Metchi and like all these
other pieces they've got. They're a young team.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
I think they're going to get better as they get older,
and so I think there's a dynamic there that you
got to kind of carefully manage as a head coach.
How you go about you know, giving a guy a
starting job or not. But in this case, when you
draft them number two, overall, you're better suited just making
it from the get go in training camp and saying
this is our guy.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
Go take all the reps with these guys.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
Like one of the things that I've seen from watching
Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers since they announced much
earlier he was the guy is you see the chemistry
he's got with Jonathan Mingo, who's a rookie. You see
the chemistry he's got with Adam Thielen, Like you could
see the timing, and they're much further along than I
think where maybe the wide receivers and quarterbacks are in

(32:17):
Houston because they've been splitting so many of the reps
together throughout the course of camp.

Good more than everybody, Good morning, Jonas, Good morning LaVar
Good more than Brady, guys. In case you missed it,
Spain's soccer Hancho Luis Rubialis has now been officially society.

Speaker 5 (34:46):
I missed it. I missed it.

Speaker 6 (34:50):
He has now been suspended officially for ninety days for
that unwanted kiss following the uh Hayley hey Brady following
Spain's winning the FIFA World Beman's World Cup over England
because he gave her a kiss, Yes, unwanted kiss.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Why was it?

Speaker 2 (35:07):
I mean very good?

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Put that back in the whole stir.

Speaker 5 (35:17):
So many people have been calling for his resignation.

Speaker 6 (35:20):
He's refused to do that, but he has been officially
banned from all football related activities until a further investigation. O.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
He's out of there. Jenny, Jenny Hermosa, that's her. That's
her name.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
I once the the US was out, I stopped watching.
So I'm gonna go ahead and just uh not comment
on this. I have no idea what's happening.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
By the way. Uh. One of the other details from
this uh from Spain soccer president here noted in this
article is he was also photographed carrying another player over
his shoulder and grabbing his own crotch. What So, maybe
the kiss wasn't really the the one that did it man.

(36:05):
Maybe it was him carrying a woman over his shoulder
like a cave man. Right, Like he's head back to
the cave right and grabbing his crotch. Wow, wile on
his way, wile en route? Wow, Why would he think
that was okay?

Speaker 4 (36:23):
Somebody even gassed him up. That's the wrong type of
petrol that put in that tank.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
Oh yeah, wow oh man, So yeah, that feels like
that ninety days might might be a little bit longer longer.
What else we got lead.

Speaker 6 (36:39):
Guys last week if you had missed it, we had
talked about the drunkest cities in America and we had
correctly predicted that, Well, Wisconsin was right there at the
top of.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
The entire state.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
Basically basically, yes, absolutely Well.

Speaker 5 (36:51):
Now a new survey has come.

Speaker 6 (36:52):
Out surveying fans over thirty two hundred fans found out
the number of beers are actually consuming on game day.

Speaker 5 (37:00):
To no surprise, matches up here.

Speaker 6 (37:02):
Green Bay Packers are in the top of that list
with six point two beers, Chicago Bears shortly thereafter five
point two, Raiders four point six, Vikings four point five,
and Eagles at number five four point one beers.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
What happened to the Bangles? Cincinnati used to be really
high on.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
That list, right, No kidding? Are they raising the prices
too much? There? At the stadium because they got to
pay so might impact some things. So fans on average
or drinking six point two beers, is this at a
Packers game or just okay, Well.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
What the price differential is? I would imagine between Green
Band Chicago.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
It's a lot.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
What do you mean Chicago more?

Speaker 2 (37:41):
Chicago's gonna charge more.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Yeah, I mean it is surprising considering the Bears have
given their fans more reasons to drink, to try and
just cope what they want.

Speaker 3 (37:52):
You know, it'll be better to see how much like
per their opponent, Like if they drink a ton when
the Packers are playing the Bears.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
Yeah, there's some peaks there, Yeah, exactly. The lat
