Speaker 1 (00:49):
Like gritty beat, like like fight music, you know what
I mean? Like fight Club music?
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Ye?
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Did y'all like that movie?
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Oh yeah, fight Club? Fight Club was a pret decent Yeah.
What was his name? Tyler Durton?
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Man, his name was Tyler Durton.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
He was all right and it was like all in
his head right or was it like his alter ego?
Like what was it a spoiler alert?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Yeah? Oh not bad?
Speaker 4 (01:14):
Oh yeah, because we haven't given enough time to see
it now, lye my bad.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
Hey man, it's it's Aaron right now on on cables.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
So yeah, is it really so?
Speaker 4 (01:23):
You think there's a lot of people right now listening
to radio while watching the movie who are like, Oh,
I can't believe he just ruined the ending for me.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Ben, What year do you guys think Bike Club came out?
I'm gonna go five.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
For that.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Wasn't like it. It might have been maybe two thousand.
Can we get a confirmation maybe two thousand came out. Yeah,
ninety nine.
Speaker 5 (01:42):
Ninety eight is my guess.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
But yeah, I think it's like ninety eight ninety nine.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Yeah, that's not bad. It's not a bad guess. Jones
is horribly off.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
I just realized ninety ninety he's a really slow typer,
and that's why you can't look stuff up.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
For well, I was. I wanted to guess.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
I wanted to think for myself of what it was.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Huh, okay, are.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
You doing okay?
Speaker 3 (02:02):
Though?
Speaker 6 (02:02):
Man?
Speaker 2 (02:02):
I feel like you're getting a little teared up the
last segment.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
Uh no, I mean, obviously Todd brought us all down
a little bit. I thought he would have been a
little livelier, but uh yeah, it was a sad weekend,
but we celebrated the life of Jimmy Buffett. So no,
I'm feeling good man. We're getting there where it's just
the end of summer and start a football.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Todd didn't sound like he was celebrating anything. He's like
he had just taken a stroll through him. More like
we needed to take an intervention.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
Yeah, he had just gotten to the after party too.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Yeah, come on, let's relax a little bit here, all right,
Everything's gonna be all right. So this is what's great
about having his music. It's here for whatever.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Do you think that Jimmy Buffett was the root of
people getting lucky the last day or so, like like
you know, like like playing lotto or what no, like
getting lucky with like the opposites or.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
The same sex these days?
Speaker 1 (02:53):
I guess you know what I mean, Like like didn't
he like make people feel like really really good that way,
like where it's just like you know, like gambling, let
me kiss you in the mouth right now. Jimmy did,
like let's kiss in the mouth from now type deal,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (03:09):
I mean, I don't know what the hell you somebody
somebody might have got well, I mean, isn't Jimmy Buffett
like one of those He's like has like a cult following.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
No, it was like they were probably gathering in different
places and like emotions were flying high, and you might
have got lucky with somebody, you might not have got
lucky with.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Problem is Lee sent us video from Jimmy Buffett's concert,
and it looked like everybody was on a flight eighty.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Like, I mean, but that doesn't mean you can't get lucky.
Speaker 5 (03:37):
Mart Rinaville was bumping.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Man.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
We went we went over there and it was packed
of standing room only.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
I mean, yeah, maybe it was like a fifty sixty.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
I mean, that's the first time that Margaritaville has ever
been filmed. Yep, there's nobody there. Ever.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
There you go saw our old bartender, Lourie, and she
was like, hey guys, yeah, I'll get to you when
I can.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Oh, how old is Laurie older? Okay, well there you go?
All right, how much older? Like eighty older?
Speaker 3 (04:05):
No, like sixty?
Speaker 5 (04:07):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Okay, cute.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
But the but the tend's at the.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
Bar were much younger, and they're all in their Hawaiian
shirts having a good.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Time, like what like fifties younger?
Speaker 5 (04:20):
No, no, like like thirties twenties younger.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
There you go, people. Yeah, okay, Jonas, Yeah he's got
some uh, he's got some range. Okay, you know, all right,
nothing wrong with it. Yeah, so listen. Obviously a condolences
to the family.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Yeah, this is not a joke. It's not a joke matter. Honestly,
we celebrat him. He would want to be celebrated. So
nothing like celebrating old Jimmy Buffett. Here it is two
pros and a cup of Joe. And speaking of Hawaiian shirts,
Andy Reid likes to like to wear Hawaiian shirts. Hawaiian
she definitely does, definitely does.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
And Andy Reid is getting prepared for the start of
the NFL season. Chris Jones.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Chris Jones might have a I mean, I was going
to talk about some other things on the Chiefs, but
I mean, since you guys want to go here, I
guess we'll talk about Chris Jones.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Andy Reid would like to speak about Chris Jones himself. Whatever. Yeah,
so here he was talking about the potential absence of
his all Pro defensive tackle who's still waiting on coming
to terms on a new contract. Here was the Chiefs
head coach.
Speaker 7 (05:25):
We got a heck of a Lions team coming in here,
and with the guys we've got, we're going to get
get those guys ready to play against the Lions that
I know they'll be fired up to play. Other than that,
I take the distractions and throw them out the door
and let's get on with what's real and that that
means the guys that are here and the guys that
(05:47):
you know that the Lions, they're going to show up
and with a good football team.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
So what you're saying is is that Chris just isn't
worth discussing right now.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Well, one of the reports out there said that Chris
Jones doesn't want a little distracted or in the studio
that Chris Jones doesn't want I don't know, but he's
scratching his knees. But he said that Chris Jones doesn't
want Aaron Donald money. He wants somewhere in between what
(06:19):
the Chiefs are currently offering him and Aaron Donald. So
it's less than he's not trying to be the highest
paid guy at the position. And yet still this is
where we're at, and it just feels like from all
the comments from people out there that this could be
dragged on for a little bit longer into the season obviously,
(06:40):
and then even longer after that. I just I don't
know how the Chiefs would Back in the day, the
Cowboys had a contract dispute with Emmitt Smith and they
got two games into the season and realized, oh, we
desperately need him, and then they went and came to
terms on a deal and got Emmitt Smith and you know,
went back with the team and he finished out the season.
Like does that happen here with Chris Jones? Feels like
(07:00):
if they were going to pay him, they would have
already done it. And and it just you know, we're
two days away from the start of the season and
I just don't think he's showing up anytime soon. Yeah,
and he's getting fined.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
It's we fit to say this for a week sto.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
It's in the millions audience.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
Welle f ate that and just keep it for next
week with Chris Jones doesn't show up and Jonas can
like run through the same exact topic the same exactly.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
It's a new audience, all right. I could just be
a professional for once, all right, Like somebody's just tuning in.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Every single rundown for the past two weeks has Ad
Chris Jones?
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Can we just play the drop? Do we have the
sound from the forty yard dash around at the combine
with Rich Isaac?
Speaker 3 (07:40):
I'd love to hear it. Oh yeah, it's like a
body falling off the second floor of a building.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Dang, just that's really what Jonas wants to do. No
want you know what do we have that.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
You guys are going to take this? Love to hear it. Hey, Leabar,
look what I got here? You see what time it is? Time?
You want to play this? Saw soft question?
Speaker 1 (08:02):
And boy, a little soft boy, soft hand hand here?
Speaker 3 (08:09):
All right?
Speaker 4 (08:10):
And I'll say the same thing I said before, the
same exact thing I said before, but I'll simplify it.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
I'll just throw this to LeVar.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Very good.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
They lose Tyrek Hill, they still go win to Super Bowl.
Let's say Chris Jones decides to sit out however many
games with eight or whatever season. I mean, I'm just saying.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
Like at some point they will when they lose star players,
they are going to take a step back.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
I mean the question is just when.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
I mean, all they know with Patrick Mahomes is the
starting quarterback and Andy Reid is an AFC Championship appearance,
So that that I think is the question is it's
not so much like when does this deal get done
and what does Chris Jones get paid? I think he's
he's acting asking for like eleven million less than Aaron
Donald over three years, which doesn't seem unreasonable.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
But that's all I saw in the report.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
I'd see any numbers, so who knows what the first
couple of years look like.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
But that being said, at what point does this impact though?
Speaker 1 (09:08):
I think this is the one because it's not on
the offensive side of the ball. And I got to
be honest with you, any guy that can do what
Chris Jones did at that combine with his performance in
the forty should get paid more than what Aaron Donald
is getting paid for. And not because of the production
(09:30):
aspect of it, but for the entertainment aspect of it.
Great point, he should be paid more.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Great point.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
I mean he's become a must see ticket. Yep, you know,
just just a great point.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Do you guys have it? Do you have it? I
would have loved to heard the call it if you
want to know what it sounded like when Chris Jones
is a cash Let's let's be all out onto the
field's here. I mean, just play the sound of Robert
COMDJ falling out of the window. They see the same thing.
If I just play that, we can roll that in
(10:04):
and just play it. I will, you know. I think
what we should do here on this show is we
should talk about Chris Jones every single day until he
comes back. But let's take a different angle, all right.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
So, I mean, honestly, though, on a serious note, how
much is he up to? And finds over two million?
Speaker 2 (10:24):
I mean they just wiped it all away, you know.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
And you said they're unforgivable finds No, they could be forgiven.
Oh they can be forgiven. Well, Albert Bruce said last week.
Speaker 8 (10:37):
Yeah, I thought, yeah, I thought, yeah, yeah, they all yeah,
they always make this st you figure it out.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
They're always.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Preer. They you're no insider. Hey, guys, look at the clock.
We got through the Christ Jones segment again. How about that? Huhn?
We get round a lot.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
We have the sound for it.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
No, I don't think we got it. We have the title.
Speaker 9 (11:06):
That hurt he's laughing leg he is, he's little in
the hips? The boy is he stout again? That her laughing?
Speaker 3 (11:20):
The chains there take a look.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
But it looks like he's all right.
Speaker 9 (11:25):
He's really stout against the run as the hoops players.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
That slide is now ilegally, that's illegal.
Speaker 10 (11:37):
Okay, Just everybody stay upright, people, wow, because these guys
if they fall, they fall down.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
A lot of bells came in.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Stout, man, upright, that happened?
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Stiff the hips.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Band slide band slide? Oh man? Well listen.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
The things you discover when you're watching the.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Four second what what do you discuss?

next here from the tire rack dot com studios. It
was one of the worst performances of the entire weekend,
and one person spoke brutally honest about the entire thing,
(12:31):
and you'll hear from him. That's coming up next.
Speaker 6 (12:33):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Two pros and a cup of Joe Here Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you coming up in.
We'll call it a little over twenty minutes from now
we're gonna have an fsri IR. Normally we do it
on Mondays. We weren't here yesterday, so we're gonna have
an extended fsri R because there's probably a lot to
get through from the travels of Brady Quinn and LeVar
Arrington to some of the other fun stuff over the
(13:08):
course of the weekend. That'll be yours here again a
little over twenty minutes from now here from the tire
rack dot Com studios. Tire rack dot Com. We'll help
you get there an unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free
road has a protection at over ten thousand recommended installers.
Tire rack dot com the way tire buying should be.
So I'm trying to think, what was the worst performance
of the weekend other than my gambling on college football,
(13:30):
which was.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
Just come on, you only show me winners.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
So as I'm just saying, all you show me is winners.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
I had one win, okay, and it's it all and
the one win was a fluke. I bet the over
under the point total in the FSU LSU game, and
then when I went to go send the proof to
Brady Quinn, I accidentally said FSU instead of LSU, so
I couldn't even get that right completely. But that was
(13:58):
my one win. I did like LSU minus one and
a half, and that did not go well. They got
there awful. They got man handled by Florida State in
that game. And Brian Kelly, the head coach of LSU,
i'm my family. We ain't not winning yet. A man
born and raised in Cajun country, depending on how soon
(14:20):
after he does an interview or talks with a peopil
at an LSU basketball game, Brian Kelly did all of
a sudden clear up his Cajun accent delay let his
team know about how they performed, how he coached, and
what LSU look like after that week one throttling to
FSU over the weekend.
Speaker 10 (14:41):
This is a total failure on a coaching standpoint and
a players standpoint that you know, we have to obviously
address and we have to own. I know adversity is
always going to strike at some time in this game,
and this is this is our first real piece of adversity,
(15:01):
if you will, that we have to address. And I'm
confident our guys will uh and our coaches will rally
in the manner that.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
They need to.
Speaker 10 (15:11):
For some reason, we thought we were somebody else.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
I thought we were the.
Speaker 10 (15:17):
Two time national champion Georgia Bulldogs or something.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
I don't know what we thought, but.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
We were mistaken. So he was very.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Clear English and those comments there, Yeah, there was no
at all, no noa I'm gonna go wanting a limb
here and say they're probably not going to be in
the top five.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Oh, I don't think they'll be in the top ten,
top twelve.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
That me bad.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Here's here's the tough part.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
It is incredibly difficult and LaVar like I know you
called Penn State West Virginia, but West Virginia's no layup
either just because they're you know, not I guess scheduled
or the betting favorite.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
They're not one of the betting favorites.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
It's not like coming out of the gate that's an
easy deal to deal with a Power five in some
cases conference opponent that's not a conference opponent, but still
like another formidable opponent in.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Week one, a neighborly rival.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
So that was I mean, and this game was played
in Orlando, which was essentially It's like when we played
the Sugar Bowl against LSU. I was like, oh, yeah, no,
there's a lot of Notre Dame fans here.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Like we got there it was like ninety ten. I
was like, Holy cow, I.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
Forgot all these people just live, you know, maybe an
hour or so away. I mean, like those games, that
game didn't set up well for LSU. But I'll say this,
the issues that LSU had to me were more coaching
than they were their players. Harold Perkins Junior is one
of the best talents as an edge rusher. They got
(16:55):
him playing off the ball as a linebacker. He was
a spy for the majority of the game. For Jordan
t that is a travesty. Like as a former quarterback,
any time I saw an edge rusher drop in the coverage, yes,
I was like, thank god, this is the stupidest defensive
coordinator that you could have. When you've got such a
ridiculous talent.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
And you're like, well, no, we don't want you get
a beat on what he's doing. No, make let the
guy do what he's made to do.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
He's made a rush, quarterbacks get sacked, strip sacks, negative plays,
Like why would you want to put him anywhere else?
Like what puts the most pressure on the offense. It's
when you have to deal with that guy every single play.
It's like, oh, well, we've got Aaron Donald, we should
drop him into coverage too, huh, Like what do you
think just mix it up a bit, just so that
(17:43):
it'll get a beat on where he's at.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
It's like it's.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Sometimes like coaches like overthink stuff. But that was the
first issue I had, Like watch, I'm like.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Sitting there, I'm like, what the hell? Why is he
off the what is he doing? Why is he in coverage?
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Right? Like?
Speaker 2 (17:58):
On's he sitting back there?
Speaker 4 (18:00):
I mean they literally gave at least defensively a layup
to Jordan Travis and Florida State, allowing him to have
more time to pocket, more time to throw the football
downfield to Keon Coleman. Now, I'll say this, I mean,
Florida State's got some huge pass catchers. Guy Johnny Wilson's
big Keon Coleman, as you saw, showed out a Michigan
(18:21):
State transfer. You know, Jaheem bell To showed off his athleticism.
I mean, they're gonna be tough for anyone to match up,
especially with Ben's in the backfield. But defensively or excuse me,
offensively for LSU, defensively for Florida State. Look, the offensive
line issues displayed themselves. We kind of knew that, I mean,
Jared versus one of the other best pass rushers, but
I was more just kind of surprised by the overall
(18:45):
game plan. I mean, Jane Daniels ran the football as
as much as anyone last year, and I kind of
feel like sometimes when they struggled offensively to find a rhythm,
it's like, just let the kid run, like do what
he had done a ton and just pound away. In
a team like that, especially when they've got really good
edge rushers, like you gonna kind of sometimes fight take
(19:05):
the fight to them. So I know at one point
in the game it got out of hand and you
weren't gonna have the opportunity to do that.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
But I thought early.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
On, like not taking points, going for fourth downs, terrible
play calls on those fourth downs. It was like, like
this is just one of the worst game planned schematics
or matchups I've seen in quite some time opening a weekend.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
We have all off season to prepare for this matchup.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
They get to recover this week against Grambling.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
That's racist.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Yeah, come on, we're gonna take this. Was that racist?
Speaker 2 (19:38):
I'm not gonna stand for this.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Why is that recover?
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Recover against Grambling? Was that supposed to me?
Speaker 3 (19:45):
It's aferior team to Okay?
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Why are the inferior?
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Come on? Bar because it's a black college. Oh geez, I'm.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Sorry it is, Sorry Lee, I mean, I'm just saying
they'll get to recover against Graham Link State. Then they'll
play Mississippi State. That'll be an interesting game for them.
That'll be a tough game. Arkansas will be a tough
game for them, right, So, I mean Army not so much.
(20:21):
But then they have Alabama, Florida, I mean Georgia State
and then A and M. Like, I mean, can they
can they recover well enough to.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Run it? Can they run it?
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Or maybe what a two to two loss team can,
maybe a two loss team can well?
Speaker 2 (20:44):
Not that CC, I mean it's an ACC loss, so
it doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
It's not a conference, right, Like My concern is they
beat Bama last year and it felt like that was
their super Bowl. Like it felt like, especially for Brian
Kelly two who lost Nick Saban back in twenty twelve
when he was a Notre Dame.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
Head coach, I gotta go to Alabama exactly. And by
the way, bammod Jalen Milroe looks awesome.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
It looks like they're gonna be They're gonna be able
to have a game plan around what his skill set
is and what he can do, and they could be dangerous.
But I think my greater point is they kind of
like were like won the SEC West first year and
maybe got a little too happy about that result and
not the the ultimate goal and ultimate result.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
It's just there's a different vibe coming off this loss
to open the season there was last year with Brian
Kelly Like this one, they just looked like they got
dominated and yeah, I got ugly late in that game.
But now you just gotta and you know, Nick Saban's
gonna be gunning for that revenge against against LSU later.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Yes, I think a lot of teams struggle for some
I just think that Week ones are different for college
football teams than what they ever had been because of
the way the preparation is taking place. Like the things
that I saw in the game on Saturday that I called,
that's like, that's not characteristic of what you see when
(22:10):
you have dominant, dominant players.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
What game did you call? I called the Penn State Westbrook.
We are, Yeah, we are.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
I was very very professional, though I was not partial
at all. I never said we one time us you
know none of that. No, No, I didn't. No, I
did my job. I wanted to do my job. But
I think that again for for like you think about
the pros, they have a different way of preparing now.
(22:41):
It's it's a much lighter workload. It's it's very very
geared towards preservation of health, but it doesn't necessarily prepare
these guys' bodies for physical contact of real reps in
a game. But in the pros, and listen, the starters
(23:03):
aren't really playing these days in preseasons, so I guess
you can't say they get a lot of game reps
to prepare for the regular season because a lot of
those guys aren't taking game reps. But it's just interesting
to see how teams were adjusting. Like I don't think
Duke would beat Clemson later on in the season. I
(23:27):
just don't I think once these teams get used to
the physicality of what playing looks like, like some of
these guys looked like they were running in quicksand they
just weren't used to leaning on one another and hitting
on one another and getting off of blocks and different
things like that. It was just very noticeable across all
(23:48):
the games that I was watching, I mean the Colorado game.
I mean, maybe they don't improve. I mean, I don't
know their defensive line that well Q, but I feel
like they were just cast like they weren't.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
Yeah, they had no depth. Now that's what it looked like.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Yeah, you know, I just but I just wonder how
many of these teams, like maybe an LSU, maybe a Clemson.
You know, maybe these types of teams are the type
of team that they you know, historically you choose a
Grambling State, like we were joking, like I mean, I
was joking saying that, you know, but HBCU, you know
(24:27):
it is HBCU.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
You usually played them.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
You just mentioned it, like West Virginia's They're not they're
not the greatest of teams, but you know, they have
a lot of depth and and they have a lot
of experience along their offensive front, and that gave Penn
State all they could handle early on. The experience traveled.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
I mean, they're gonna get it from my Delaware fighting
Blue hens this weekend one too.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
I'm gonna go check that one out, guy, my guy
number ten, Keen Arrington. Yeah, how about it there before?
Speaker 2 (24:59):
Are you really you just live over there? Made for football.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
Season, cross country? Lying, Bro, that's hard on the body.
You ain't lying, bro, It is hard. And I had
hard on the body and.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Hit with it. Yeah, it is kind of.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
And I'm going with all of them this time, like, yeah,
you're I'm taking the whole crew on and I'm flying.
We're flying coach, all of us, you know, all of.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
A wild plane flag. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
I feel bad for anybody who's sitting there.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
A couple of the way there little throat bombs, a
couple of those little belly what yeah, little what little
stomach what?
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (25:47):
All right, yeah, I guess so.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
But I just I'm curious, and actually I would probably project.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
And and and and.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
Think that guys are going to improve dramatically from this
first week to let's say week two or three. I
think there's going to be a trumen like I saw
guys like Abdul Abdul Carter, who is an all world
everything linebacker. You know, he was missing tackles that were
(26:18):
routine tackles. They were routine and he was missing them.
And I just think that these guys were like one
or two steps off, and it just looked as though
that one or two steps was based off of not
being in game condition.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
That's why I never blamed teams for taking layup matchups
week one like I actually give credit to teams a
take time.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
I mean, it's it's worth thinking about for the sake
of your your hard work in the off season. It's
worth thinking about taking an easier game the first week
and then maybe stepping it up the second two week three. Yeah, yeah,
that's what I would say.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
Well, I gotta be careful about this.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
But the hard thing is is that's obviously not what
like fans.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
And the TV networks want.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
I get it, like they can't.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
They have a hard time selling a matchup where you've
got And then this is what I think, these week
one week two matchups are born out of They're not
born out of the schools wanting to do them, like
I sit next to Urban Minor, I get to talk
to him about it, and he's like, hey man, there's
no preseason. He's like, you got to go into that
matchup week one hitting on all cylinders. And he's talked
(27:34):
about to me like how it changes your philosophy and
camp to your point, LeVar like you gotta hit, you
gotta bang, because that's that's what that matchup's going to be,
and you can't wait to find out in the first half.
And honestly, that was one of the things I noticed
from TCU. They couldn't tackle.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
First half. They're tackling was atrocious, and you're.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
Going, all right, like these these Colorado kids are pretty slippery,
but you're like, all right, then there's just some bad angles,
bad tackling, and clearly like none of these schools hit
as much as they used to back in the day,
and there's a callus that you build over that, you know,
getting hit, hitting, getting used to all that stuff. And
so that that's where I think is it is one
of the tough parts in admitting this is the TV
(28:14):
networks have pushed it, the fans love it, clearly based
on ratings.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
I mean, there's no.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
NFL You've got this gap of and space and time
where the networks are kind of like rubbing their hands together, like, yeah,
we'll take up We'll take up that spot, like football
seasons already started in college, we'll gladly take over.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
Labor Day weekend now. And so it's a thing. But
you know, it's like, it's hard to sell a matchup
between who.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
I mean, I'm not gonna.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
See that's a hard it's a hard one to sail. Man.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
I'm just saying, like, I don't I would not phrase
it that way. Hey, Notre Dame played Tennessee State. I
was selling that. You know, that was a game that.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
As Notre Dame Tennessee easier or.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Hardery State to Tennessee State.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Is that that Eddie Tennessee?
Speaker 1 (29:04):
Is that?
Speaker 3 (29:04):
Is that Eddie George's team?
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Which one I'm just saying, is that harder to sell
than LSU Florida State?
Speaker 4 (29:12):
I mean, I think there is a certain audience that
may be more to want to watch Notre Dame.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (29:20):
What do you mean?
Speaker 3 (29:20):
What am I talking about?
Speaker 1 (29:21):
Man?
Speaker 3 (29:22):
Please?
Speaker 2 (29:22):
What do you mean?
Speaker 3 (29:23):
Like? What what audience you mean?
Speaker 1 (29:25):
I'm just saying, I think my people, he's talking about
my people, me and Lee's people, Me and Lee Jenkins,
Me and Lee Jenkins. Leroy Jenkins just saying, yeah that
we're going to watch the game, Leroy base, I mean,
did you watch the game we're going to watch to
see if they can win?
Speaker 2 (29:44):
Hey, did you watch the game? Which one Notre Dame
Tennessee State?
Speaker 3 (29:48):
I did not.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
I did not, And if I would have been watching,
it would have purely been because I wanted to see
if not your Dame was going to do what you
expected them to do, because you wouldn't expected anything else.
But that, I mean, we're talking about me, and that's
like I would have been wasting my time to watch
that game. I'm waiting for them to play a team.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
Well, be careful about the outcome, can't You gotta be careful?
How you say how the game went?
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Yeah, but how did it go? But if you just
won lot how much?
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Eighty by fifty something, I'm okay?
Speaker 1 (30:25):
So what So what are we really talking about here?
I say, I sound like I'm sounded like I need
to be politically correct before I get canceled. But I'm
really just telling the truth of what everybody already knows.
Speaker 3 (30:38):

Speaker 2 (33:18):
Jonas, Come on.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
Jonas, Come on, Jonas. So Friday, Yeah, I want to
I'd never taken my son bowling before, so I took
him bowling, like just like one in the afternoon or now,
like earlier than that, because we were doing it before
he was going to take his nap. So take him bowling.
He's two years old. Go to the bowling alley, just
having a good time. You know. It's they're doing like
one of the lanes like way far away. It's like
(33:41):
senior days, so they've got a lot of the seniors there.
It was really cool, just hanging out with the fan,
just the wife and the kid, no issues whatsoever. And then,
of course, of all the open lanes early in the
afternoon on a Friday, we get these two burnouts who
get the lane right next to us. It's some guy
(34:02):
and his either wife or girlfriend. The guys, like in
his fifties or sixties, smoke cigarettes, I mean full blown
alcoholic drinking vod katonics at one in the afternoon. Lee's
nodding his head with approval, of course he is. And
this guy is trying to give me advice on how
I should set up the ball and the pin placement
(34:22):
with the bumpers on my two year old cigaret. I'm
thinking to myself, hold on a couple of things. Most importantly,
I'm better than you, buddy, all right. Secondly, we're just
having fun. It's a Friday afternoon. I don't need tips
from from Pete Weber's drunk stunt double trying to tell
me exactly how I need to bowl with my two
(34:43):
year old.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
Son on a Friday afternoon. So that pissed me off
a little bit upset you. But then we got I
trying to help you out.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
You immediately just attacked down.
Speaker 3 (34:51):
Screw that guy, Come on, get at you. He's a blowhard.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
He just trying to help you out.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
Man. He sucked, he wasn't good, and the advice was
bad as well too. So that's all I got was
trying to help what you got?
Speaker 4 (35:05):
Maybe even a fan too who is too embarrassed to say, hey,
aren't you that Joe guy from.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
Two Pros and I listened to to praise and Joe. Yeah,
maybe it was yeah, sure, what you got?
Speaker 4 (35:17):
That is funny though. It's like people be like, oh, man,
love you guys, you Levarra and.
Speaker 2 (35:21):
Joe, and I'm like, it's Jonas, It's not. It's not Joe.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
I love the name, all right.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
I get Jonas quite a bit though, about telling you
they're so into Jonahs so much fun.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
Man, it'll be ten collor is what what else we got?
You guys are? Yeah? Fine, you got one. Brady was
in swamp. I was swamp assland swamp hot.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
It's fine. Yeah, No, I don't have any I or
source from our trip o triples. Good. We're busy, man.
There's a lot a lot of stuff going on this scenes.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
What I are No, I'm just saying like there's a
lot of moving parts with all of it.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Honestly, my Sunday was probably more of the ir story.
Speaker 4 (36:08):
We had over some some of our old neighbors, and
I got a little aggressive there.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
In what way, Well they were.
Speaker 4 (36:16):
They were Florida State fans, so they started pre game,
in the pre game, you know, shout out graduate hotels,
and our house felt like, till get you at a graduate.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Hotel, that's awesome.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Yeah, yeah, I got a little a little aggressive.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
Well, I guess that's the direction we took it after
we beat West Virginia's ass in State College, because we
went down two champs. Shout out to DJ Richter, what up?
DJ Michael was there, Michael Parsons, Jesse Loketto was there.
(36:52):
There were some New York Knicks in there. There, There
were a lot of people up in there in our
little area. And we went through four nineteen forty two's,
like I don't know, like they were water bottles, Like
they went quick. Four of them gone quick out there,
(37:13):
And I got my feel, I'll tell you that, like
everybody was getting and getting in on the action. But
I'm just saying I got my fear share of nineteen
forty two in my system.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
How late are those places open after a game night.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
Oh we will, yeah too. Yeah, we didn't close it.
We didn't close it. We got up out of there
before it closed. But it was I don't even really
remember too much about the end, is what I'll say,
which is always good. It was a little blurry.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
Now, did you get a LeVar Island at any point
during the weekend that? Oh yeah? Oh yeah, yeah, here's there. Yeah,
so that's the that's the that's a Thursday special boneless way,
seventy five cent boneless wing.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
The wings are fricking. If you ever visit, If you
ever visit Harrisburg, go to Zimbies. Their wings are phenomenal.
LaVar Islands actually made.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
Yeah, that's great.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Go
