favorite renners, Big Noon Kickoff are back in Colorado for
(01:45):
the Lil Wayne concert that will turn into a football
game later on at night. So Brady Quinn, you're in Boulder, Colorado,
and Colorado and Dion Sanders for the first couple of
weeks with the college football season have been the talk
of college football. People are very excited about what's happened there.
There's been a lot of discussion. Well, they find themselves
(02:07):
in a spot where they host their in state rivals,
Colorado State, and the Buffaloes are a twenty four point
favorite for this night game against Colorado State. And you know,
Jay Norvel, the head coach of Colorado State, decided he
was just gonna speak freely on his Coaches show and
(02:28):
he had this to say, about what could potentially happen
on Saturday night.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
I don't care if they hear it in Boulder.
Speaker 6 (02:36):
I told them I took my hat off, and I
took my glasses off, and I said, when I talked
to growing ups, I take my hat and my glasses off.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
That's what my mother talks about.
Speaker 6 (02:43):
So you know they're not going to like us. No
matter what we say or do doesn't matter. Okay, so
let's go up there and play.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
You get him, Jay, You get him all right?
Speaker 7 (02:55):
Man, Colorado's gonna hang like seventy points on them.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
Mean Deon Sanders, real like uly ugly. Deon Sanders did
hear the comments, by the way, and uh Dion uh
In talking with this team of practice, had the following
to say, I'm out.
Speaker 7 (03:13):
Of my own business, budgets and film, trying to get ready,
trying to get out here and be the best coach
I could be.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
It.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
I look up and I reasonable judging, and Damn said
about it once again, why would you want to talk
about us? We don't talk about no better.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
All we do is go out here, burkout, butts up
and do.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I javot say. But would they give us ammunition?
Speaker 4 (03:33):
It was just gonna be a good game and they
don't mess around and made it.
Speaker 8 (03:38):
It's gonna be a great task, a Battle of Colorado,
but they'll mess round and made.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
It so that courtesy of wall Off Media, which I
believe is is that Deon Sanders' Sons Media Company or
whatever that's.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Off well off well well well off, yeah, well off whatever.
I don't know how well off l E L L.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Yeah, Well that's.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
What I thought.
Speaker 7 (04:03):
Yeah, Jonas is the king of somehow, butchering that well,
you know, I can't believe.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Sam racist on that one, Like, what do you mean
It's like that's gonna be.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
Well, he can't be he can't be well off Jonas.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
I mean, what you wants racist, get a better name.
The name stinks, So it's not my problem. Gez point
the things out the thumb.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
I do believe that's Dion Jr. That is his name.
Point is Bucky.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
They're twenty four point favorites punching down Bucky.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Bucky Larson's who that's I think the nicknamed him to
call him Bucky, the callin Bucky, call him Bucky.
Speaker 7 (04:43):
I just like, what's the point of j Norvell saying this?
Because Okay, like that's how you were raised. Maybe everyone
was wasn't wasn't raised that way, like truth be told,
That's how I was raised.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
What does that matter with the with the football game? Like,
what does that matter?
Speaker 7 (05:02):
Well, you should know better as a head coach not
to give people bullets and bar material, especially as over
a three touchdown underdog.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
It's just don't I don't understand.
Speaker 7 (05:14):
And look, part of it's SU's gonna make everything into
some sort of motivation.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
They'll do it next week with Oregon. Trust me, I'm
predicting it. Now.
Speaker 7 (05:23):
You'll see clips of Dan Lanning saying, oh, well, what
did Colorado ever do for the Pac twel I don't
remember them winning anything. He said that this offseason went
Pac twelve, you know, decided they were moving to the
Big twelve.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
He said that, then Oregon decided to move to Big ten.
Speaker 7 (05:39):
Beside the point, there's always gonna be some sort of
bullet of war material motivation factor, so things can be personal,
like that's part of the game. I just don't understand
why Jay Norvell would invite this, Like I really do
believe Colorado is gonna score seventy points.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Damn listen, I know Scrappy. I know, I know Jay's
his brother. Super cool dude, shouts out.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
To the crush.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Wait Scrapy's younger brother. Yeah, you probably know he played.
He was a linebacker. I think he was a linebacker
in the ten. As a matter of fact, he's an actor.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Is he out in l A?
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Yeah, he's out in l A.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Yeah, I've met. I've run it into a couple of times.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Good dude, too, good dude, and and and listen. I
don't know what his motivation is. Bye. By putting it
out there the way that he did, it's it is
interesting to me anytime I see kind of like again,
we had this conversation earlier, like personal attacks, you know,
(06:47):
was it a was it a continued theme of something
that he had put out in front of his his team,
like we're gonna we're gonna teach these guys some manners
or something. I don't know what he's doing, but I
would assume, in whatever regard that he presented it, in
whatever way that he did it, he is trying to
(07:08):
create motivation for his team in some way. I think
it's a tremendous miss, but I think you should keep
it really dialed in and focused in on trying to
be the one that stops the juggernaut or or kind
of knocks off the you know, cools off the storyline
(07:28):
that's that's developing. Like I think that would be more
of my you know, in my estimation, the proper approach,
you know, but saying I took my I mean, but
then to that point, you know, gentlemen take their like
that's what it's perceived, right, Like, historically speaking, a gentleman
takes his hat off, he takes his glasses off, he
(07:50):
addresses people from a manly perspective. Maybe he was challenging
the manhood of prime don't. I don't really know, but
whatever was I would have to assume as a head
coach and someone who's been in the coaching game for
a while, there was some type of mental connection to
it or emotional connection to it to his team. As
(08:12):
to why he did that, that might have been his theme,
like we're gonna grown man. These these dudes like they're
they're divas, they're they're they're not show cs. You ain't
gonna do anything I would have you know, I went
against you last week with with my bro and arms,
my comrade, my my letterman, alumni Matt Rule, I went
(08:32):
against you, but this week I will not. I don't.
I don't see them having what it takes. The score
could be seventy to ten.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
Yeah yeah, I mean, and probably a closer game in
Champagne between Penn State and Illinois.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
It probably will be. We won't beat them by that many.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
I'm just saying, like, if you know, maybe maybe even
like a better atmosphere, but again not trying.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
To know that it'll be a better atmosphere.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
Kick off with off, you know, right around the corner,
not eleven hours away, or if whatever it is, you know,
I feel like it might be might be a better,
better setup. But listen, Deon Sanders has got to get
used to the fact that some people find Colorado and
all this hype obnoxious and so I'm team Norbel here.
You don't like the fact that he wears his glasses
(09:19):
and his hat when he talks to people, Yeah, good
for j Norbel. I'm team Colorado State here, and you
know what, I'll gladly take those twenty four points. What
do you think about that, Brady Quinn, I'll take those
twenty four right now, and I will.
Speaker 7 (09:30):
Give you those twenty four points and then I will
call you as soon as the game's done to tell
you you're a moron.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
I mean, this is but this is this good for
college football?
Speaker 5 (09:41):
A little bit of trash talk over something so stupid
his hats and sunglasses and these are storylines.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
LaVar, LaVar, Is it good? Do you think it's good
as a storyline? I mean, I think it's it's circus worthy.
To be honest, I don't. I mean, it's it's the
story of Colorado. Is good it because they were irrelevant,
you know, obviously, he's already doubled their win total from
last year. He's one of the greatest athletes of all time,
(10:09):
one of the most decorated athletes of all time. Novel Yeah, yeah,
So I think that it's a it has it definitely
has its legs to be what it's become. Like, it's
a it's a movie, like I said, like, if he
continues to win, it's a movie, Like, no doubt about it,
one hundred percent. Somebody's writing the script. They're going to
(10:30):
do it well. Off will probably do do the rights
to the movie. It's a movie. And and so I mean,
is it great for college sports?
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (10:39):
I mean everybody loves a story, you know. Everybody loves
a triumph, everybody loves a comeback, everybody loves an underdog,
whatever it may be. So that's what makes sports so
awesome is that it can run the entire spectrum of
what what you are looking for. Some people want to
see the overachievers. Some people want to see the arrogant
(11:01):
dude that's on top, you know, like Brian Bosworth is
one of the coolest stories that that you could see
in college. Right, everybody loved the boss, but they love
to hate the boss, you know, because he was He
was like a front runner on the dude gas who
cares like he had his mohawk, he had the colors
on the side.
Speaker 4 (11:21):
Is that confirmed by the way he was on the gas.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
I think so. I think I think he almost positive almost.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
I think he did soft.
Speaker 7 (11:31):
First off, that flash, how do you know he pissed off?
Speaker 4 (11:38):
Like, were you the inspector? I mean, LeVar Jonas kind
of looks like he could have been one of those.
He does look like he could have been the.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Cup holder, sir, let me see what you got.
Speaker 9 (11:49):
Hey, hey, hey, can you confirm that that didn't Oh
my gosh, crack, don't you man?
Speaker 1 (12:01):
I love And by the way, if I recall correctly,
and I just want to throw this out here and
I don't, I could be incorrect, and I was looking
for it when I saw the comments take place. But
Coach Bowden used to always have his his straw hat on,
his straw fsu had on and was known for having
(12:22):
different color sunglasses if anything. Did it quite a bit?
Speaker 5 (12:30):
No, you're right, and he had those. They were like
the wrap around like uh, it's.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Like they're really popular now seven on seven, like the
glasses he wore back then. But I mean, I just
think that it's convenient for people to take pop shots
at Dion because I mean, you tell me Q. But
it's almost like people are having a hard time, which
there are a times. I think Norvo was a former
(12:57):
player too, But I think people are having a hard
time like comprehending that Dion isn't a character, this fictitious character.
They're they're actually struggling to comprehend that the dude is
actually well thought out, well planned out, well structured, and
(13:21):
he's executing.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
They're bitter he's getting all the attention and all the shine.
Speaker 7 (13:25):
Yeah, I think it's I think it's the attention. I
think it's the shine. It could be jealousy could be
some of that. It could be helped. Look, some of
the games have gone I mean, you couldn't have asked
for for worth that game to go any better for us, right,
I mean two red zone interceptions.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
Put it this way.
Speaker 7 (13:43):
I don't think TCU had a red zone interception all
last year. They threw two in one game to kick
off the season. Like just improbable stuff. I mean, Nebraska
couldn't get a shotgun snap, they could not catch a
shotgun snap, just fell apart, styming drives and all that.
(14:03):
I think there's just I think there's some skepticism still
with people out there where they really I mean, this week,
you know.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
Colorado will win.
Speaker 7 (14:11):
But when I talk to people that are like, yeah,
well we'll see when they get the organ and USC
and it's like, well yeah, but you can still celebrate
what they're doing.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
Now. This is over one win football team a year ago,
Like this is.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
A that's like but don't you feel like that this
is what that's setting up for, Like it's like just
wait till they lose. It's like, well, what about them winning?
They're winning like they're winning.
Speaker 7 (14:33):
Yeah, that's what That's why. That's what I just kind
of said. I mean they lose like does that I mean?
But well, because I think as many people that there
are out there that are rooting for cu and Prime
to win, there are also people who are rooting for
them to lose because they don't like the way in
which he's doing it.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
You know.
Speaker 7 (14:51):
I do think there's both, Like the ratings and the
and the attention and drama. I think they are not
just all fans. I think they're people who are looking
for a guy to lose. Like and by the way,
that happens, no matter who you are, when you're as
great as Dianna is or your Lebron or you're whoever
else that's up in that arena, you get a fair
(15:11):
amount of people who are watching because they want to
see you losey, we don't want to see them succeed.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
Floyd Mayweather got another great example.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
I mean, it's great, that's just the reality of it.
I mean that's why a lot of people watched Tyson
like is he going is this the one where he loses?
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Like, I just think they want to I never saw
that knockout.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
I think people just wanted to see whether or not
Tyson could remove somebody's jaw from their face.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
That was imagine if he lost. Like, I can remember
where I was sitting, the exact place I was sitting
for when Buster Douglass knocked him out.
Speaker 7 (15:46):
Man, why did Buster look so good in that match?
He was, That's the best he ever looked.
Speaker 5 (15:54):
His mom had just died, and he got totally focused.
He was really close to his and that was the
one camp that he got really really focused on and
really disciplined. And you know, the the long the long
count on the knockdown probably helped him out as well too.
Speaker 9 (16:11):
But yeah, he looked as good as he ever looked.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
I mean, I don't know we made this the main time,
but I mean I mean Tyson had the kryptonite going
at that time too, though, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (16:25):
You know what her name, Robin, Robin Givens.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Yeah, I mean she was beautiful, but she drugged his
aster and she had him. She had him a little bit.
You know, they had him, They had him medicated. You know,
they had him, They had him a little off. You
don't remember the interview he did. I remember the interview.
They had him totally sedated. Man, I'm like, does he
know where he's at right now? No, he did it,
and I don't.
Speaker 7 (16:46):
Think he looked like that looked over there either, like
weekend at Bernie's. You know, it's just kind of floating
around just there. He's a prop. He was on remote
control or something, man like. I don't know, but I
don't know. I just again, I don't know why these coaches.
I don't know why they do it. I really don't
know why they do it. I don't know how that's
(17:07):
helping your team or what that's going to do or
serve by giving another team bulletin boarn material that's a
over three touchdown favorite and you're going to their house
and they're about to whoop your butt.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Yeah, I know, I'm going to watch watch.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Okay, what good man?
Speaker 4 (17:33):
I'm glad you're watching it.
Speaker 6 (17:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
I might not have watched it otherwise. I don't know.
There might have been a better game going on at
that time slot. But I'm going to watch this game.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
I thought you guys were doing you figured that out.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
I think it's Florida. Florida Tennessee is going on around
that time.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
We are doing dinner Saturday yeah, yeah, we are.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
Do you think some of the places that Lee and
I were throwing out are going to have the Colorado Colorado?
Speaker 1 (17:56):
So I'm probably going to have to go to that
one that Lease. It is just it's a sport. Who's
all doing dinner Trish Melatrician, because the kids are going
to Universal for this, like you know, fright night or
whatever it is.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Deal.
Speaker 5 (18:09):
That's Lee and I were trying to sell him on
this ready September. He's got singing waiters. It's a nice
little Italian spot's got singing waiters.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Something.
Speaker 7 (18:18):
I'm out on Lee right now. Lee taking his hard
stance on a terrible football role.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
I will die on that hill.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
That's a weird hill to die on. Man.
Speaker 5 (18:27):
I'm still trying to figure out what Lee was showing
us in the glass last night that he caught.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
You want to know that he put tequila on top
of it.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Bang out.
Speaker 8 (18:36):
I found a get go right for DeAndre Swift's second
touchdown'm calling him swifty.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
Huh.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
So you're he's your pet?
Speaker 2 (18:43):
No, I put him in the I put him in
the planter outside. Oh I felt bad about it.
Speaker 7 (18:49):
Made you think, like, hey, this is content these guys
would want to see right.
Speaker 4 (18:55):
When moment was like, oh, let me shire there with
the guys. You know they want to see this.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
You didn't want to see the get going cut during
the game list.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
I honestly didn't know what it was. Yeah, the picture
was awful quality.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Well, yeah, he's in a glass. It was distorted.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Yeah, we did it. Tell you to get Geico insurance?
Speaker 2 (19:13):
No, why would you want that when you got progressive exactly.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
I'm just saying because it was a Gecko.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Well, I don't know, not me.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
I like. I like how we threw progressive out there
because that's I mean, that's what I do.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
It's a place you should go.
Speaker 5 (19:25):
And by the way, I mean, I'm assuming you know
everybody at some point today is going to need to
shower up after how fol it's all this show?
Speaker 4 (19:32):
Oh give me the Irish Spring.
Speaker 5 (19:33):
Yeah, damn right right, You're going to need some Irish
spring because the fresh scent of Irish spring and those
sensational Irish spring SuDS, or just the beast that you
need to own the day Irish spring. When the spring
hits you, you're ready pick up Irish Spring at your
local retailer.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
Got sense today.
Speaker 5 (19:51):
It is two Pros and a Cup of Joe here

We've got a major update on one of the bigger
stories and sports of the past month or so.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
And we'll have that for you right here on FSR.

a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Get up, bah, that's cool mod huh yeah?
Speaker 2 (20:25):
All right, all right, all right? Is this cool?
Speaker 1 (20:30):
Mob? No? No, d no, not b.
Speaker 5 (20:35):
It is Two Pros and a Cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox
with you. Coming up in less than twenty minutes from now,
we are going to spread them picks against the spread
for Week two in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
So we'll get funny.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
Say it like that, Say like, what.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
What are we doing the next segment?
Speaker 5 (20:57):
You mean, like, less than twenty minutes from now from
the TIRACTM studios, We're gonna.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Spread them ew what do you say like that?
Speaker 5 (21:06):
I'm just letting people know what's coming up. Less than
twenty minutes from now. It's teasing ahead lost.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Art and radio.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
You're a weird dude, man.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Thanks man, stop it. But again, let's not get caught
up in the week.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Is that MJ talking about drugs? Stop it? Joan Is
lead them drugs alone, Doug leave them alone. Stop it.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
So again, lessons to.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
Spread them picks against the spread in the NFL for
week two. All right, So it is, I mean feels
like it's about that time, because this time yesterday, I
mean it was hashtag team Breer, hashtag team Quinn going
at it over the Zach Wilson backup quarterback debate in
New York.
Speaker 7 (21:52):
That wasn't what we were going at it about that. Actually,
it was not even close to it. We were discussing,
like the plan for Zach Wilson and what would have
been if Rogers was healthy. Because I'm just as I've
always said, none of it made sense considering he'd be
a free agent by the time Rogers was done with
the two years in this deal, and so how would
(22:13):
you have been able to make any sort of decision
on him.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
You wouldn't.
Speaker 7 (22:19):
So all I'm saying is like, and I said it yesterday,
you guys like this clears up the Zach Wilson era
in New York. Either he'll play really well and they'll
probably sign into an extension pick up his fifth year
option after this year, or he won't and they'll move on.
Like those are the two routes this is going to go.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
Well.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
I mean, all I know is that I was team Breer.
Hashtag team Breer in that argument discussion.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
Yeah, hashtag one champion.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Well.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
Apparently there was a move that was attempted by the
New York Jets. They tried to Brett Rippen. So Brett
Rippon was the potential quarterback they were going to make
a move for, but the Rams decided to go ahead
and sign him off their practice squad.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
I know his uncle, you do?
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Yeah, real well, Mark, you thought I was joking. That's
the funny thing. You thought I just threw something out
there to mess with you. But I was. I got you.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
Didn't you have some uh he's a.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Little HeartWare, you got HeartWare?
Speaker 5 (23:20):
Well, he had some uh some hard times recently. What
I recall Mark ripping, some stuff came up, Yeah, look
it up. You know, there was just some some stuff
that happened. But a point being, the New York Jets.
Speaker 7 (23:33):
Have nothing bad ever happens us because Jonas is just
gonna wear us out on radio silence.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
I just think, listen, I'm just trying to tell the
full story and nothing.
Speaker 4 (23:40):
But that's what happens on your like you just bury,
you know, former athletes.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Look, I don't know what is what is talking about
him dealing with c.
Speaker 5 (23:49):
No, just there was some other stuff. What is the
Jonas Knox show heard two to four Eastern time eleven
am to one Pacific time on Saturdays have to do
with anything?
Speaker 7 (23:57):
Do you think if you don't give out the Pacific time,
people won't listen on the West coast.
Speaker 5 (24:01):
I mean, if you show time, I'll give you the
Hawaii time as well too. I mean there's nothing wrong
with that. Listen, well rounded here heard around the country.
But the point is, ye I don't even know what
the Hawaii time is. But point is, the New York
Jets were looking around, sniffing around for some quarterback.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
Out and uh geez, come.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
On, okay, all right, well listen, I'm just trying to
tell the full story. But Zach Wilson, he's a confident guy.
If you don't think so, listen to this interaction with
the media yesterday.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
Zach, what kind of confidence do you have in yourself?
Speaker 1 (24:37):
A lot of confidence, man, I truly believe in myself,
and I think that's the first step to being in
the NFL.
Speaker 5 (24:42):
You got to believe in yourself first, and and and
the rest and take care of itself.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
I'm sold they're good.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
I just want to see how he handles the first
bit of adversity when it happens, in terms of if
he doesn't have a good game, how how is he
going to handle you.
Speaker 5 (24:59):
Mean, michae michaeh Parsons on Sunday, that could be some adversity.
Speaker 7 (25:03):
I mean that's a little I'm more curious how he
handles like a quarter of tough football.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
I mean, it got so bad interview.
Speaker 7 (25:14):
It got so bad in New York last year where
they just decided to kind of bench him and not
play him the rest of the way, and it was
just Mike White. It was large because he's he lost
all confidence. I mean, he went out there, he'd throw
the football and it would feel like the defense every
time the balls there had a better shot of getting
it than their own offense. That's how it felt watching it,
(25:36):
and you could feel like the Jets, like at home
fan base, be like, get him out of here. So
they did that to protect him. They did that too,
I think, protect themselves a little bit. But now there's
not much they can do. I mean, they try to
get Brett Rippon the RAMS basically said hey, we're gonna
put them on our active roster so you can't touch them.
And he had experience working in Nathaniel Hackett system last year,
(25:58):
if you recall, he came in and started that game.
Speaker 4 (26:01):
Against the Jets.
Speaker 7 (26:03):
Ironically enough, that was the only game actually the Jets
were favored in the first nine games. It was the
Brett Rippon led Denver Broncos.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
I remember that, Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (26:13):
But the point is, you know, they're looking for someone
who can come in and knows the offense, and there's
just not that many guys. Boyle's already there, you know,
and you have to look for other guys potentially in
Green Bay and so outside of you know, going after
a Ryan Tannehill someone else before the trade deadline. This
(26:33):
is what Jets fans are living with. So all they
all they can do is get behind Zach Hope. He's
grown and matured and progressed and hope that he's going
to be the guy that you know they they drafted
him to be.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
To be quite honest, I think it should be Matt Ryan.
And here's why, Matt Ryan. He got screwed because an
owner of a team brought somebody out of a broadcast
booth to try and spark some life and do an organization.
What if Matt Ryan a year later gets pulled out
of a broadcast booth to try and spark some life
into an organization.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
It's appropriate a broadcast booth.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Yeah, wasn't he call he was doing on the set
of as a broadcaster?
Speaker 1 (27:14):
You know?
Speaker 2 (27:15):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
Don't listen, don't get caught up in the details, right,
this is a fine take.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
Devil is in the details, bro Well.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
The devil can kiss my ass. This is a fine take.
Speaker 5 (27:24):
And we need Matt Ryan in New York to quarterback
the Jets, That's what we need.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
I'd love to see it.
Speaker 7 (27:29):
I'd love to see him in that system with that
group of players around him.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
I just want to see Zach Wilson play, and more importantly,
I want to see Zach Wilson own it as a
leader of the team. If it doesn't go the way
that he, you know, hoped that it would go the
way that the team hoped.
Speaker 4 (27:51):
He can go take some responsibility.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
If they not take some take full responsibility for it.
Is that a step in the right direction, that would
be a tremendous step in the right direction. It'd be
a tremendous step in the right direction.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
So if he throws three picks and has a couple
of fumbles, as long as he says afterwards he that
was on me, everything's all right.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
I think, I which I believe he's clear on some
of the things that led to why he was treated like,
you know, something other than a starting quarterback at the
point in time that that happened. I think he's I
think he's the type of guy that he's probably aware
(28:35):
enough to know how he should handle things from here
on now. I think that if he shows those things,
it could have a tremendous impact, a profound impact on
everyone around him. I would assume if I'm in the Jets'
locker room, all those guys are pulling for him to
do well, and even if it's just for personal gain,
(28:56):
personal reason, self preservation, they want probably most likely him
to do well need him to do well. So if
he handles himself the right way and he goes out
there and he has that that leadership accountability and that
command of what's going on, I think that they rally,
(29:17):
you know, they rally around him, and that could be
the key toller. Yeah, you don't have a choice, like
you again, Matt Ryan or some of these other guys
right now today, you don't have a choice.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
You know.
Speaker 7 (29:30):
What I can't like get over though, is I mean
all the excitement and the way, like Robert Salad everyone
gushed over Aaron Rodgers and it's just it was so
over the top.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
It was so.
Speaker 7 (29:46):
Extraordinary, like the way they talked about a hard knocks
and everything, and it's kind of a direct shot at Wilson,
like this is how he wanted to feel about you,
but yeah, you're not him, and now it's like, oh,
we gonna go back to this guy, all right.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Well, Well, it's just.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
It's so funny.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
I mean.
Speaker 7 (30:09):
Another thing is like Jets fans just from last year,
like they got so mad when I've made some comments
and then they signed Rogers and now they're like they're
they're like kind of pushing Wilson on the wayside, and
now he's got to be the guy again, and like
a lot of people wrote him off, and there's some
people are like, well, I guess I have to get
behind this. It's probably some players that feel that way too, honestly.
Speaker 5 (30:33):

Speaker 2 (32:14):
All right, lead to lat How do we do? Last week?
Speaker 8 (32:17):
Close one is always you guys, everybody laid the points
on the Ravens.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
So you all got that one.
Speaker 8 (32:23):
In the twenty five night jumping up the Texans, Jonas,
you were the only one who took the Dallas Cowboys
and that forty to nothing blow out over the Giants.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
Wow.
Speaker 8 (32:33):
Brady and LeVar, you guys correctly predicted that the Packers
would get it done at Chicago, and then LaVar separated
himself from the pack as he always does, by correctly
predicting Miami.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
Versus the Chargers.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
Yea, yeah, how about that?
Speaker 2 (32:47):
So LeVar takes the early lead. It's a hard to
catch them, LaVar. Another idea for you.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
It's like going to be hard to catch him.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
That's right, LaVar. Another idea for you, just like I
gave you LeVar islands. How about this stick city becomes
pick city, you know, picks against.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
The spread and picks.
Speaker 5 (33:07):
Yeah, there you go, put you up one one x one.
Speaker 4 (33:15):
Right now, all right, we don't have much.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Time, we really we too.
Speaker 8 (33:19):
We'll start with the battle in the AFC North. We've
got the Ravens at the Bengals. Bengals are three and
a half point favorites at home.
Speaker 7 (33:25):
Brady, this is this is a tough game to pick
for this reason. If you watch the Bengals Week one,
you're probably gonna overreact and then say, all right, go
with the Ravens.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
Take the three and a half points.
Speaker 7 (33:42):
But the problem is Lamar Jackson is so good in
the regular season's been really good against the Bengals too.
So I'm gonna take the three and a half points.
I know the Bengals will probably be better. Burrow didn't look
one hundred percent that he was moving. Maybe it was
the rain and bad footing, but I'm gonna take the
three and a half points here, what do.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
You think of Jonas?
Speaker 5 (34:03):
I'm gonna go to Baltimore plus the three and a
half as well too. I love that I'm getting the
hook three in a hook there they call it. And
I've been trying to tell people like Brady Quinn about
Zay Flowers forever. I'm impressive.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Week one, give me Baltimore here on the road right
in LeVar.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
I'm taking the bit to to cover that is that
what they just said? Like it's going to be more
than three. They're going to win by more than three?
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Correct? That is right?
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Yep, that's what you guys just said.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
Yeah, pick City.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
Okay, well then whatever Jonas and Brady said, I'm in.
I'm on board with that.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
Oh no, we picked where hold off, we picked Baltimore.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
What do you mean?
Speaker 2 (34:44):
We got the Ravens minus plus three and a half.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
So you're taking the points? Yeah? Said theles are going
to win by less than three?
Speaker 4 (34:53):
Correct?
Speaker 1 (34:54):
Three or three? I just said the Bengals are going
to win by more than three. Yeah, I was correct
in what I said. The Bengals are going to cover. Yeah, okay,
and then you see you lay the points. Okay, I
lay the points. That's confute laying the points.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
What else you got the points?
Speaker 1 (35:12):
All right?
Speaker 8 (35:12):
Chiefs at Jaguars. Where Chiefs are three and a half
point favorites on the road.
Speaker 7 (35:17):
It's gotten up to half a point last time I
looked at US three.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
I'm gonna take the three and a half points here. Like.
Speaker 7 (35:23):
The last team to win a Super Bowl and start
off zero and two, I believe was the Denver Broncos
when they came back and rebuilt the team after John
Elway retired. So seldom done. I mean, I don't know
what else to say. I thought Jacksonville's a good football
team in a better spot right now, Chris Jones is back,
(35:45):
maybe on a pitch count. Who knows what Kelse is
gonna play. I'll take the three and a half points.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
What do you think of Jonas?
Speaker 5 (35:50):
Yeah, I'm taking Jacksonville plus to three and a half.
I like what they're doing there. Calvin Ridley had an
impressive Week one and the fact that you know Calvin
Ridley the people's wide receiver.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
I mean, then we're doing a gambling segment on it.
You gotta take at Jacksonville here plus three and a half.
Speaker 8 (36:05):
What'd you think of the bar.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
I'm gonna lay the points on Kansas City. Did that work?
Speaker 4 (36:10):
Is that good? Yeah? It works?
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Beautifl shot Now two lays in a row. I'm getting lucky.
Speaker 8 (36:15):
We got Packers at Falcons. Falcons are appointed a half
favorites at home.
Speaker 4 (36:21):
Packers at Falcons, and we got to speed it up.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
Here is the favorite Falcons.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
I'm taking the Falcons.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
I'm taking Green Bay Packers straight up.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
I'll take Atlanta.
Speaker 8 (36:33):
We've got a battle in the NFC West. Niners are
seven and a half point favorites on the road in
l A against the Rams.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
Land the points Rams are settles.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
Yeah, I'll take the Ram Wow too many points. Wow points.
Speaker 8 (36:49):
And then Sunday Night football, Dolphins three point favorites at
New England against the Patriots.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
It's gone up Land the points.
Speaker 5 (36:57):
I'll take New England at home. Felichick is gonna have
something for that Tyreek to a combo.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
I don't know what it is that would be less
damn just smoke cracked, not mm hmmm.
