Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is the best of two pros and a couple
Joe with Lamar Areas and Rady Winn and Jonas Knox
on radio.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
How about double barrel action on Monday night football last night?
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Huh, I like it.
Speaker 4 (00:20):
There's a lot of people who wish they could use
that double barrel themselves. Oh geez, well, I'm just saying
some sloppy football.
Speaker 5 (00:29):
Well sot off talk here on a Tuesday morning. Fine,
it was.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
It was some sloppy football. There's a lot of people
who were in painwashing that last night.
Speaker 5 (00:38):
Yeah, but it was kind of entertaining.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
I didn't like. I didn't like that they were at
the same time. I didn't like I thought you said
yesterday you did like that.
Speaker 6 (00:46):
I like, I did not know that they were airing
pretty much at the same time.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
You know, I didn't like it.
Speaker 6 (00:52):
I'm gonna tell you why I didn't like it, because
I could clearly feel more energy from one of the
games than I did from the other.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:02):
I mean, it's not because I'm from there, It's just
because it was just it felt different, like the energy
of the telecast, the quality of it.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
It just did it was different.
Speaker 6 (01:14):
It just felt different now and it was like I
kept switching back and forth for a long time, and
then it got to the point where it's like, man,
this is dull, Like this is boring, this one isn't.
This is the cool class, this one isn't. This is
the house you want to visit. That one isn't. And
and it was just kind of like, all right, well,
I've been left to decide.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
And so I did.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
I mean, based on how that first quarter went in
Cleveland Pittsburgh, I stayed there. I was like, this game's drunk.
I haven't seen many games with turnovers, like just crazy plays.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
First picture of injury man, so sad prayers and blessings
with you know, out to him. It was that's about
as gruesome as it gets.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
I didn't even see the the full injury. I just
saw the hit on the knee. For me, I saw
the way it would it started to bend, and then
I just clicked off.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
Yeah yeah, I don't need to see that.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
You know.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
The sad thing is he tore that exact same bee
in college. I mean LCL, MCL, PCL dislocated me.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
I didn't realize it was that bad until I saw
I think it was schefter. It listed the details of
that injury. I didn't realize it was that bad back
in twenty fifteen.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
This one might be worse than that one. Yeah, this one,
this one could he could be done.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah it might be.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
That's so man, I can't imagine there's anything left. Like
the how his leg bent and the way it looked.
Speaker 6 (02:41):
Yeah, and he tried to get up at first, and.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Then he was like oh new new and went right
back down. You know, I was gonna say too.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
At the beginning of that game, is watching him, I
kept thinking to myself, is he the best running back
in the league. I mean people people wanted to give
credit to, like Derrick Henry, but they're both right there.
Speaker 6 (03:00):
Saying the type of they're the same type of back.
You know, they just wear you down. He's so powerful
and he's so strong, and he sees he sees the holes,
you know, where you can run to so well, anticipates
so well. He makes it look easy, like he doesn't
give you splash plays. But when you watch him, he's
(03:24):
not flash. You're not going to be like, oh my gosh,
look look it's You're going to be like, he's got
he got six yards, he got five yards.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
I see him hit people sometimes I'm like, oh god,
you know like that kind of.
Speaker 6 (03:38):
Stuff, Like I get that, but he's not He's not
a flashy dude.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
He's not like a shake of bank. Yeah, he's like
and that's what people look for, you know, that's what
you look for. I look for big old back.
Speaker 6 (03:53):
Like I don't know, people don't talk about side there
give they don't talk about him like that though they
like they should. It's like the point you're making, you're
making the point. Now you're debating the point that you made.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
I don't know. I don't know why they don't talk
about him like's not the way they make my opinion.
It's like why isn't he the best?
Speaker 6 (04:14):
But why isn't he like considered the best back in
the league, Like because he makes getting yards look easy
and it's like it's like, oh wait, he's like a powerback.
But it's like he's almost what he said, it's five
point four a player or something like that.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
He's averaging his entire career. It's crazy, man's average.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
Over five yards his entire career. It's kind of crazy.
He's it's sad, super sad too. He's just super.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Said and the best player on that offense for a
number of years now, because there's Deshaun Watson's just not
the same player he was. He just doesn't look like
the same guy he was in Houston early on, and
I know that there was a conversation about is he
ever going to live up to the two hundred and
thirty million dollars guaranteed? If the Browns have got to
be looking at this going, Man, we gave up a
(05:02):
lot for this and now we're out Nick Chubb for
a significant amount of time, maybe for good, and now
we've got to rely on Deshaun Watson to try and
pick up the slack.
Speaker 5 (05:10):
And he just doesn't look like the same quarterback he
was years ago.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Weird.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Well, I was to say, it's only two games in.
There's a lot of football left to be played. I
was gonna ask you guys, like, how many games do
you need to see from Deshaun and Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
I mean, the truth is in Houston, you know, he
at times was prolific and everyone talked about you know.
I mean, I'll put it this way.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
The people within the Browns organization that are a part
of making that decision.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
It was the top five quarterback, top five quarterback. I'm like, really, like,
is he not anymore? Well, no, I wouldn't have said
then like like he really ever.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
You convinced yourself into top five quarterback and that's your
pitch or your line.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
If you thought he's a top five quarterback, you could literally.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
Rattle off probably I don't know five right now pretty
darn quick. I mean, Mahomes, Alan Burrow Jackson, I could
probably see Rogers when he's healthy.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Like there's your five, Like he ain't in that.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
So I just the whole idea of of what they
paid him, how it went down, how he's been since
he's gotten there.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
It lends you to think, okay, like.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
How long is this this leash on him? And I
think it's I think it's pretty damn long. I think
it's all this year. I think it's probably the next.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Two hundred and fifty some million in length long.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
I think, indeed, yeah it's the next it's the next
two years for sure, and then we'll see.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
But yeah, he looks like a shell of himself. I
mean it's hard to.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
Watch at times, and the personal vowls like he's getting
called on him. How sloppy is with the football. I
mean It's almost like that thing. It was like all
looped up the way it was.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
What let's hear from massage? I mean Deshaun Watson last
night's game talking about what he can do better.
Speaker 7 (07:07):
I gotta protect the ball. We're not gonna put it
on anyone else. You put it on me. I can
take the full blame. I can take the criticism, and
I'm going to do that. And I told everyone in
the offense, the whole team, I'm gonna do better for
this team, for this organization, so we can win games
like that. And I'm fine with taking the criticism and
I will be better.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
How about that little accountability from him? It's nice for
a change, you know, it's good to good to hear
from the guy. And that is true.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
That is true.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Now. I feel like Brady Quinn is largely responsible for
the chance last night for fire Matt Canada. Uh from
the crowd there in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
What chance you're talking about?
Speaker 2 (07:54):
You know, the people you know channing let's you know
they wanted Matt Canada fired.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
I have no idea, you know we're talking. Do we
have that like sound or anything.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
I don't help us out here.
Speaker 4 (08:03):
I mean it just I mean, it was there a
chance that maybe someone sent our producers sound last night.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
I mean, listen it just you know we're you know
we are, we are putting that together. We just wanted
to make sure that it sounded putting together extra.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
I thought for a second, like, you know, maybe you
know we would have it like coming into the shows.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Let's let's take a listen to the the crowd at
Acupuncture Stadium, whatever the hell they're calling it now, chanting
for the firing of an offensive coordinator that Brady Quinn
has been calling for for a couple of years now.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
I mean they tried to drown it out, trying to
help us the boy out. They're like, hey, let's turn
it through. Right.
Speaker 5 (09:02):
It appears like that this has starting to gain some momentum.
Speaker 6 (09:05):
I mean, how y'all feel about picket after last night?
I mean, are we putting it on Canada.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Or we we we picket it's Canada man like? And
when he drops back, I mean there's two issues.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
One, you knew with the pressure you were going to
deal with given the Cleveland Browns pass rush, and I
didn't feel like they had a great game plan for that,
Like how they went about trying to, you know, mix
up some of the protections from the place and the screens.
Like it's just there's no feel to it. It feels
like he's just spinning through a roller dex. Remember those
(09:38):
things like back the day, going all the knaves and
all your contacts. You can't never find the one you
want to find when you're using those things.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
That was like Matt Canada trying to find the right playlist.
The hell is that contact? Man? I just saw it
the other day. Then you can't find this?
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Where the hell is that good play that is going
to help us get to touch it? The one to
the one that George Pickens across the middle fight. Oh No,
it's just it feels like there's there's never like it
doesn't build off of one another. I've said this before,
but you know, you go into a game, you have
your scripted first fifteen all right, so people out there
(10:12):
who don't know you have fifteen plays you're gonna run
to start off a game. And why you do that
is A you feel like you're practice those B. You know,
so you should be executing at a higher level right
out the gate. B you're gonna show them formations you're
gonna show them personnel groupings, right, the type of you know, uh,
positions that are coming out there.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
You're trying to test them with.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
You're trying to confirm what you've seen on tape, right,
Like they might play a certain coverage to this formation,
and we want them to play that coverage because we
know how we're gonna get guys open. You know, they
might play a certain you know, they might bring us
certain blitz versus this personnel in this formation, and we
want them to do that because we've got this screen
(10:54):
called in or we've got a blitz beeed off this.
So those first fifteen you're taking down information and then
what you do with that information, then you make adjustments
moving forward.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
You don't see any of that.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
It just it feels like he's rolling through a rollodex
picking different plays, like.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
Nothing builds off of each other.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Like how many times do you see something in the
first quarter, first half that you see them come back
to and have a wrinkle or a double move on
something or tweak it a little bit and you're like, oh, yeah,
I remember I saw that first out they did that,
Like you don't see it. It's just it feels like
they're just out there calling plays. And that's, you know,
to me what's been frustrating as a quarterback watching.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
It, because you're saying, this guy's gonna.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Have a hard time succeeding if you've got a play
caller who doesn't understand how to actually, you know, call
plays in the NFL. So look, I'm never one to
call for another man's job, bib about families and stuff
and all that, but they got a problem calling plays.
Like I'm not the only one to see it. Clearly
the entire fan base, and you could see flashes of
(11:58):
like picket screening making something happen, or you know, picket
finding pickts who's wide open, who then takes the ballroom,
runs past every on the field for a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
You go there it is.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
But that's more speaks to the talent of those two
players than it does the actual play call.
Speaker 5 (12:15):
So what's the fix because if.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Tomlin got to get a new host, c Yeah, but
it's two weeks in, so like, if you were going
to make that movie, you would have done.
Speaker 6 (12:22):
That's a horror one. Now, that's a horror I don't
have the answer for that. You don't bring in a
new guy now, I mean, I don't know. I mean,
do you I mean I think it's too late.
Speaker 5 (12:33):
Yeah, it's two weeks in.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
What you think you I want to? No, the hard
thing is is you got to.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
I mean Tomlins obviously extramely loyal to the group of coaches.
Speaker 6 (12:47):
That he's got, you know, and he's not going to
disrupt things like that. He wouldn't disrupt it. If he would.
If he were to, he would have done it before.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
Now.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
Yeah, I mean, I look at their coaching staff and
the quarterback coach, Mike Sullivan has been in the NFL
a long time, and he's someone who you know, could
call plays.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
I'm sure if they wanted to.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
Now, I just don't know how big of a difference
you can make in season like that. It's hard to
make wholesale changes and change up a bunch of stuff.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
So that's difficult, especially with a young QB like I
could see if he had been around the league for
a while or whatever.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
But he's he's what second year Yeah, second year?
Speaker 4 (13:31):
Really to your point, a young offense, right, and a
young offense.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Yeah, some young pieces on that team.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
Okay, So what if we get down later in the
season and the Steelers are seven and eight, and Mike
Tomlin's got his five hundred or better record on the
line two games left.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
I don't think you do it and then you make
the move, then it's way too.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
You got a five hundred or above record on the
line and consecutive season streak for Mike Tomlin. You've got
to protect that at all costs. So way is gone.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
Let's get off.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
The play calling scene cares about calling for someone else's job.
It was like the walking wounded out there. You see,
many guys got hurt. I mean, micka Fitzpatrick was out
at one point. You know, you had like Denzel Ward
was out at one point. There's another dB oh Greg
Greg Newsom for the Cleveland Browns was out. Like everyone's
just getting hurt. That game was nuts. I mean that's
(14:20):
just how physical I think the AFC North is. But
my goodness, man, people getting knocked out left and right now.
Speaker 6 (14:25):
One two dumb boys was was jumping off of front
though on both sides of the ball. I mean, they
were getting after it.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
And by the way, TJ. Watts, the all time sack
leader in steels history.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
That happened kind of quick, huh.
Speaker 6 (14:40):
I know, I was man I was like Kevin Green,
Like Kevin Green is in like literally like number two
position of all time sacks.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
But I think he.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
Did a lot of that in Carolin, Well, Saint Louis,
I think he did. We did a lot of in
Saint Louis before he even came to pitch Burgh.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
Is probably what happened was the longest, because that was
the other thing I was that was the first thing
that came to mind him going.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Really it wasn't that, okay, you mean when Kevin Green
was with the l A Rams, the Rams, the Rams,
not not the Ram.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
I mean it was the Rams. I mean la round
they were. It was the Rams. God dang, he went
back that long ship. That's dump that dump that dump
that anyway. Yeah, I didn't know he went back that.
I guess so, though, No, that is yeah, I guess so.
But it was the Rams anyway, It was the Rams.
(15:36):
But yeah, I didn't know. Like and then you started,
like I thought about Greg Lloyd, I thought about Joey Porter,
you know you I didn't you know, James Harrison had
to have had a lot of sacks as well, right, Yeah,
I mean there's a lot of guys that like got
sacks for for Pittsburgh. So but what a hell of
an accomplishment. I'll tell you that's the hell of an accomplishment.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
Hey, did you see there was a big unveiling in
Kansas City. It was called a giant payday for Patrick Mahomeses.
Nice little deal for Patrick mahomes there the little restructuring
going out with the Kansas City chiefs. Hohm, he's just
going to get what two hundred and ten million over
the next four seasons, and it's fully guaranteed. Just something
(16:34):
along those lines. But I thought, you know, there's a
bunch of people thrown out, a bunch of numbers, So
it's probably appropriate that we bring it to you the
only way that this show knows how to do it,
and the best of anybody on sports radio and television.
May I present to thee.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
And now for more on this Two Pros and a
Cup of Joe. NFL contract analysts Frante quick.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
All right, I guess it's time for me to go
analyze the restructured contract of Patch Mahomes, which is partially
a birthday gift but also well just deserves when the
guy is the MVP of the league, wins a Super Bowl.
Was a Super Bowl MVP? I think you have a
triple crown there.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Mahomes will receive twitter and ten point six million dollars
over the next four years. That's twenty twenty three to
twenty twenty six. It's actually the most money ever for.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
A player over a four year span, very deservedly so.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
He could reportedly earn up to two unar and eighteen
point six million by the time his restructured agreement ends
in twenty twenty six. So put it into this context. Okay,
we know about the initial deal that he signed. I
think it was what ten years, five hundred and three
million dollars. That was initially what he signed.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
So think about this. He's almost getting half of it
in a four year span. Jesus, you know, to.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Put in comparison to Shaun Watson's deals two and thirty million,
it was fully guaranteed for I believe a five year deal.
This happens in four years. So however, you'one to look
at it. It's a lot of money in a short
amount of time, and you gotta love that if you're
Patrick Mahomes his agent, or even any other quarterback out
(18:25):
there who's looking at structuring a deal.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
So Patrick Mahomes cash it in the Kent City Chiefs.
Speaker 5 (18:32):
Why do they do it now? Do you think.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
Because they wanted to get it done. Probably at the
beginning of the season. It took a little little longer
than they thought. But look, he should be compensated as
the top quarterback, top player.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
In the league.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
He's earned that and this contract reflects that now whereas
it didn't kind of as you watched other quarterbacks sign
extensions getting paid more money, and still Holmes is sitting
there on the contract saying, hey, remember when I signed
that ten year deal, you know that five hundred million
other that full commitment to you.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Well, now I'm like the sixth.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
Highest quarterback paid, like I should probably still be number
one if I'm playing that way.
Speaker 6 (19:13):
Do you think it had anything to do with why
it took a little bit of time or it cleared
them to do it after they got Chris Jones finished up.
Would there have been any type of relation there in
terms of or coincidence that it happened not too long
after that got done.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Yeah, no, I mean it's not a coincidence.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
It's all obviously, you know, related to one another because
we don't know the exact details as far as how
they're structuring it at least yet. We'll see that once
the fine print comes out, but we'll see probably a
fair amount of bonuses signed, bonus et cetera that helped
create the cap space structure necessary for Chris Jones as
(19:56):
well as Patrick Maholmes to fit. But the deal's only
a one year deal, so you know, he's allowed himself
a chance to go into free agency next year. This
could be helping to create cap space for the future
of Chris Jones wants to stay. I mean, clearly we
saw his impact, you know, coming back for Week two,
he was phenomenal. Or it's just preparing to go into
(20:18):
free agency and try to pick up some guys to
replace him if they feel like they're not going to
have a chance of retaining Chris Jones for the future.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
Man Patrick mahomes already and he's got obviously a long
time to play. But already we're looking at like a
top five, top ten quarterback all time credential wise started
the career and he's got what, you know, eight ten
years of high level football to go, and you know.
Speaker 5 (20:47):
I'm hoping it's.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Completely changed the course of how you view Andy Reid
as a head coach historically, how you view the Kansas
City Chiefs, like they're just consistently going to be looked
at as a team that's going to be a super
Bowl contender for the next ten years.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
Let me ask this, and I'm not giving you much
time to research it, all right, how much do you
think it's earned over the seven seasons that he's played
in the NFL.
Speaker 5 (21:11):
A shape for thirty I'll say.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
Seventy million, one hundred of Levar's closest almost one hundred
and twenty million. And what's crazy about that to me
is he didn't really play his first year. He's really
done in six years of playing because Bembery only played
the Week seventeen game in his rookie year and that
was it, and they just made the decision to switch
and he was his MVP of the league. Is first
(21:38):
years starting, and all he knows is AFC championship games
in Super Bowls.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
I still remember when they made the decision to move
on from Alex Smith, and people were like, man, this
is a pretty bold decision. They were a playoff team,
Alex Smith was playing good football. They traded him to Washington.
You're gonna turn the keys over to this Patrick Mahomes guy.
And he goes out the first week against the Chargers
and lights him up, and it was I think he
threw fifty touchdowns or something touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
You know what it is too like that's the case
study for quarterback wins is not a stat because everyone's like, well,
I don't know this guy. It wasn't a winner at
Texas took you know Texas. He wants a winner, talented,
I wasn't a winner. You know, you can't you can't
take that guy. I don't know, man, he's a pretty
good winner. Now. It's like, you can you can put
(22:24):
a player in a terrible situation, circumstance and he's gonna
have a hard time being able to win games. It's
why I repeatedly say that is like we always give
quarterbacks too much praise, too much blame. We always overrate
their impact on the game, Like we just do. This
isn't basketball, where you could be a two way player
(22:45):
and you're on the court the entire time, and it's
much easier to isolate you and get you those one
on one opportunities or put you in a position to
really take over a game. It's football like you're out
there for a third of the staffs and there's a
lot of stuff that play a role into it. But look,
he's been phenomenal since he's first started playing. It's a
(23:06):
very deserved contractory structure, and I think the one thing
with the loyalty showed to the Chiefs out the gate
for a ten year deal where he really didn't need
to and it's the only unique deal like that you're
going to see was this, Like the team had to
own up to restructuring his deal every so often to
(23:26):
make sure he's still happy.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
And this is one of those examples.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
If I were Andy Reid, I'm not going anywhere. Like
there's all this talk about him retiring. There was talk
after this last Super Bowl, you know, could this be it?
Maybe he'll come back.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
For one more.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Why the hell would you leave if you've got this
guy in the prime of his career.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
It's a lot of talk right now about well, hey,
the Chiefs are one to one. The offense doesn't look
that great without Eric P.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
Enemy. I'm just saying, man, maybe it was all Eric P. Enemy.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
It wasn't a lot of talk about that. Like two
games into the season.
Speaker 5 (23:56):
Loose Tyrek Hill win a Super Bowl, no problem.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
I mean he still threw for over three hundred yards though. Well,
I mean and in the last game, I believe what
they just played Jacksonville.
Speaker 5 (24:07):
Right, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
And Kelsey came back, which which I say Kelsey wasn't
in the first game, right, that's yeah. I don't don't.
I wouldn't get I wouldn't panic on it. You know.
Speaker 6 (24:20):
Again, I don't know why I panicked on him the
year before. I felt like he wasn't.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
I just remember I didn't feel like he was protecting
the ball.
Speaker 5 (24:28):
He said they needed to trade him.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
If I recall, I didn't say that at all. I
didn't say that. I didn't say that. I just didn't
feel like he was protecting the ball as well.
Speaker 6 (24:37):
And I know we went over the stats, but then
I gave it like further thought. Sometimes it doesn't show
in the stats, like turnovers are turnovers, but protecting the
ball can can show itself in different different manners like
careless passes like or or maybe not careless but way
(24:58):
too risky.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
You know. I just felt differently this year.
Speaker 6 (25:03):
I look at what they're doing and it's kind of
like it's a slow build, you know. You see pacheco
As is starting to assert himself and become a larger part.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Of that offense.
Speaker 5 (25:13):
And I think that they're going to be fine.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
I think they're going to be fine.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
I don't know what to what capacity or what degree
that is for for Mahomes, but he's going to be
the catalysts. I mean, and again, three hundred yards, two touchdowns.
They did, you know, to me what they needed to
do to win against a team that I think we're
all high on in terms of with Jacksonville. So yeah,
(25:41):
I mean, defense looked pretty damn good. I just I
wouldn't panic about I went panic about Casey. No, there's
no poor Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
It was just more of the comparison because the enemy's
not there now. Yeah, well that's win one.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
I mean, you know, look at Washington, it's like, Okay,
this may not they're undefeated right now.
Speaker 5 (26:02):
They are to Oh the way, where did you this
new voice you've got.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
You've got a lot of voices.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
I'm this one's good. It's almost like you're you're holding
you're pinching your nose and talking football like.
Speaker 4 (26:15):
You know, does baby talk? Man Like he's on baby
he's in baby dead mode.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
No, it's the people who are like obscure to say
it out loud. But oh, my god, I mean the
Washington Commandos, Eric Viennemy. My god, it's the well right now.
Speaker 4 (26:31):
It's like they don't want to like be like just
let it all hang out and just be like, hey, man,
I think the Commanders are better with Eric Viennemy than
the can't say chiefs are right now popular pion.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
No, you guys don't like that.
Speaker 8 (26:43):
No, oh no, don't say it out loud. No have Patrick,
dear god, don't say that out loud. It's two games
into the season. Oh no, it's just like different. It's
like the it's like the water cooler talk. That's what
you get.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
You go on the album something that got me dumped.
Speaker 5 (26:58):
To by the Way. The places still have by Way.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
I've also I've also figured out why LeVar was out
on homes last years. He just you just sometimes try
to be a contrarian to Jonas and I like, we'll say,
I'll be a contrarian to you guys, Yeah, I do,
because I was gonna say you like, we'll say something.
You'll be like, no, We're like, why are you Like,
I don't know, but no, it's just my opinion, and
I don't like you.
Speaker 6 (27:23):
And I like bad feelings, you know. I like gut feeling,
like you said, I don't like facts. Like It's like,
I like gut feelings. If my gut tells you ever
think that's.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
Like maybe I had a bad enchilada or something, and
maybe that that's impacting your gut feelings.
Speaker 6 (27:37):
Possible, But but I'm going to base what I'm feeling
with my gut off of all given factors.
Speaker 3 (27:43):
Do you guys see that a bad enchilada?
Speaker 4 (27:46):
You see the text I sent you about the red ass, Yes, yes,
that's the.
Speaker 9 (27:52):
One they say about for you, like, yeah, yeah, why
is that?
Speaker 6 (28:02):
Why is that that they don't like anything to be
nicely said about stated about the you know, the fighting irish.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
I feel like that lives within the college football world,
where like you've got these matchups week to week and
there just tends to be more fun, more chatter about them,
and like that's one of them. So for those out
there obviously who cannot see it, it was basically this
like health ad of people who are like had their
hand on their butt with a being red around it,
(28:32):
and it just says something like anytime someone says something
complimentary about Notre Dame Ohio State fans reaction, he says, yeah,
he's This week.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Hey, what's up everybody.
Speaker 6 (28:56):
It's me three time Pro Bowl of LeVar Arrington, and
I couldn't be more excited to announce a podcast called
Up on Game.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
What is Up on Game?
Speaker 6 (29:05):
You asked, along with my fellow Pro bowler TJ. Huschman,
Zada and Super Bowl champion Yup. That's right, Plexico Birds.
You can only name a show with that type of
talent on it. Up on Game We're going to be
sharing our real life experiences loaded with teachable moments. Listen
to Up on Game with me Lebar Arrington, TJ. Hutschman
(29:26):
Zada and Plexico Birds on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts
or wherever you get your podcasts from.
Speaker 5 (29:37):
Let's make a hiss and now.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Would you rather your random topics, sports or otherwise?
Speaker 10 (29:47):
All right, lead to laugh? What do we got, guys?
What I've wanted to ask for a while. Would you
rather see an annual rivalry game between penn State Notre
Dame or Penn State and Pitt.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
Oh, that's a tough one.
Speaker 5 (29:57):
I mean Unredame.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
I would say Notre Dame, but I'm biased, like I
know that would be huge in the state of Pennsylvania.
Speaker 6 (30:05):
Yeah, I would probably say Notre Dame because I think
it's a bigger game like we be Sun and Pitt,
like Pitt Sun does for a little bit, like with
Marino and all of them in Doorset and all of them.
But these days, I mean for the last like long
long long time.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
You know, recent years, we soun Pitt. So I'd rather
play against Notre Dame. I think it had I think
it had more historical like implications connected to it for sure.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
Yeah, I agree with that. I mean, look, I'll be open.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
I don't like the schedule of Notre Dame since they've
had this partial agreement with the ACC because it's cut
out the opportunity to play Michigan, Michigan State produe Penn
State if they want, Like all those big ten schools
that regionally are close, you're competing against and recruiting and
everything else. But it's just a more similar brand and
style of football. And so that's that's something that obviously
(31:02):
I have zero control over, but I do miss like
I think back fondly to those rivalries, those matchups. They
were much more difficult than looking at the schedule for
Notre Dame now, with the exception of maybe you know,
three four games a year.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
But when's the last time they played? Was it two
thousand and seven? I'm seeing I think that's the last.
Speaker 4 (31:20):
Week I played my senior year that I think they
played in Happy Valley after I was gone. Yeah, I
never played against Notre Dame.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
I would have loved it. I would love to have
that opportunity didn't happen.
Speaker 10 (31:33):
Guys, would you rather have chap lips that never heal,
or terrible dandriff that you can't.
Speaker 4 (31:37):
Treat terrible dandriff? I hate chap lips the worst thing
in the world. I always deal with it. Especially going
out to Border every week. How dry it is out there.
It's like every single time. Man, it's it's awful.
Speaker 5 (31:49):
You know what the problem?
Speaker 3 (31:50):
Both look very gross.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Yeah they're both nasty. But you can wear a hat
and just cover that out. But the problem with just
shave your head.
Speaker 5 (31:57):
If you if you.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Start using lip bomb, your lips have to have it constantly,
and then when you go a day without it, then
you got problems, especially if you deal with weather. Like
you pointed out, it's just gonna be an issue. I'd
rather wear a hat and cover up dandruf than I
have to deal with, you know, my mouth looking like
it exploded.
Speaker 6 (32:15):
Right, But then once you expose your head from taking
off the hat, all all, you know, all deals are
off like they're going to be like what the WTF?
Speaker 5 (32:26):
Well, go to Colorado.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
They keep their hat on all the time, you know,
even when they're talking to people, sunglasses, hat, everything.
Speaker 6 (32:33):
I'm gonna go chap lips and just walk around with
a big jug of.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
Masoline hot lips. Yeah, I'm gonna go with chap lips
kind of walk around vascillin. Anyway, don't you a pause?
Speaker 5 (32:49):
Well done? Well done?
Speaker 10 (32:53):
Guys, would you rather be friends with a rich person
who hates dogs or a poor person who loves dog.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
Rich person, Well, Brady's rich and hates dogs.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
So I have a dog there, Literally, he has a dog.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
Man, Yeah, you don't have a dog, Jonas, Geez, I
have a dog too, So wow, Jonas.
Speaker 5 (33:19):
He's dead. What do you want from me?
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Yeah, I'm loyal, real dog lover.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
There, I'm loyal, loyal, he's He's not a pair of shoes,
He's not a pair of flip flops. I can just
toss in the garbage and then go out and get
him at a pair loyalty.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
I've had a few dogs.
Speaker 5 (33:43):
What else?
Speaker 6 (33:44):
Guys, would you rather I've got a bone to pick
with you or I've got beef with you?
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Say again, would you rather have.
Speaker 10 (33:52):
Someone say to you I've got a bone to pick
with you, or I've got a I've got a bone.
Speaker 4 (33:57):
I'm taking off on you if you say you got
be with me, so tell me, tell me we got
got a bone to pick?
Speaker 3 (34:03):
Bone depict sounds like a teacher sent it to you,
ye deef, like I'm I'm we gotta fight
