So we started the show talking about the armpit fart
of the National Football League, which is the Chicago Bears
their disaster. There were many people, including some people on
(01:20):
this show, who assumed that they were also in a
better spot than the Green Bay Packers this upcoming season.
That person would be me. They are not. They are terrible.
Just I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
I just because you're a lifelong Bears fan, you don't
want to admit it to no population.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
I trusted that Justin Fields and the new additions around
him would take a step. I thought their defense would
improve a little bit. And not only has it not happened,
their defensive coordinator may or may not have been raided
by the FBI. So that's how far gone and how
far wrong I was on that. But the Green Bay Packers,
on the other hands.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Got a distraction.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
By the way, Yeah maybe a tabit.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
I mean, what would you guys do if that was
if that happened, I.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Just want to.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Whoa Okay, I mean, if you were an NFL coach
or player. Would you ever imagine the FBI like knocking
down or knock you on your door to come in
for a raid.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Even if I didn't do anything wrong, I'd be terrified.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
That'd be pretty intense.
Speaker 5 (02:24):
Yeah, oh no, oh no, oh no.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Then the music play, oh no, no bad.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Yeah, it's not good all bat. But the green Bay
Packers one and one. You know, last week was a
disappointing loss to the Atlanta Falcons. They had a lead
in that game, but green Bay sitting at one and one,
I think people feel a lot better about Jordan Love
than maybe they anticipated, especially after Week one against the
Chicago Bears. But one of the things that popped up
(02:57):
for the Packers the past several days is David Boktiari,
their Pro Bowl offensive tackle who's been dealing with the
knee injury since twenty twenties, had some surgeries, but he
just has not been the same player since that surgery
or three surgeries. Rather, he was vocal about Aaron Rodgers
(03:18):
and turf maybe causing the injury he suffered because Rogers
is a close friend and a former teammate, and they've
got to do something. We need to play on natural grass,
and so some people maybe jumped to conclusions that bok
Tari the reason why he sat out last week after
playing really well in the entire game the week prior
in Chicago, but sitting out last week against Atlanta was
(03:40):
maybe some sort of a statement he was making against
artificial turf and not wanting to play on turf, and
that's why he missed the game. So his brother took
to Twitter and he ran with it and kind of
stirred the pot a little bit. So of course, bok
Tari yesterday was asked about it, and here was his response.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
I wasn't gonna play on turf. I'd probably make more
of a Ruckers.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
My brother loves drama, and he told me he's gonna do.
I'm like a right, had a hundred. I don't care
what you do. It's your social media and you know, no,
that would not.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
The reason at all.
Speaker 6 (04:14):
I would if it was going to be, it would
be something that would definitely.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Be something different.
Speaker 6 (04:18):
But no, I mean, I clearly have an injury that's
been nothing dealing with and I think that like a
lot of just journalism, I think anyone here that didn't
run with the story, Bob, I don't know if a
few did or didn't.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Well, anyone who did.
Speaker 6 (04:30):
Should definitely make sure to write wrongs because if you don't,
then is that really journalism if it's only just a
hot topic or the lowest hanging fruit.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
So that was Bactieri's response.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
That's called a reprimand.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
I mean, by the way, it'd be pretty uh, that's
kind of a kind of a move to say, yeah,
until the league gets as fixed, I'm not going to
play an artificial turf, you know, just set out like
three four games a year. You know, it'd be the
NFL equivalent to load management possibly and feel what the
NBA does. So I didn't even realize it was a thing,
but apparently some people took the tweet from his brother
(05:07):
and ran with it and said he was trying to
make a statement against artificial term and that's why he
missed last week again.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
Cannot cannot just say just real quickly, the way social
media works these days. I mean, you just had on
the on on the same social media uh web sites. Uh,
Jason Kelsey saying that he's the new uh.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
What rapaport for for his brother Travis.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
It's not far fetched or outlandish with the way things
are have have developed and and have have come out
that a family member has information that is privied information,
and sometimes it's used as a tool to leak information.
(05:55):
Sometimes it's used in different ways in different manners. But
I don't for something that would have sounded so outrageous
and egregious to me years and years past, doesn't sound
so outrageous and egregious now, that's not like. I know,
he felt the way he felt, and he handled it
(06:17):
the way that he handled it, and I'm not I
don't think it's wrong at all. To be honest, I
think he's one hundred percent accurate in saying that, you know,
check with me on that, don't run with my brother's tweet.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
It's in social media.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
But at the same time, I don't think that that
it's it's bad if you say if you if you
do a report and that report is based off of
that player's brother and you make it specified that I was.
It was on social media. It was his brother's social media.
So I'm just closing my source now. With that being said,
(06:51):
he did acknowledge the fact that he told him he
could go ahead and run with it, So in a way,
you you almost basically encouraged or condoned to him putting
that type of information out there. If it was going
to bother him, if somebody took it and ran with it,
then he should have told him. He should have told
his brother, don't do it like you asked me. No,
(07:12):
I don't think that that would be the proper thing
to do in this scenario, because that's just where social
media is these days. I just I don't find it
to be crazy egregious, That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
All I'm asking is, is this like a new form
of load management?
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Jonas?
Speaker 4 (07:27):
It could be. It's a great point. That's a great point.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
I mean, does that upset you?
Speaker 4 (07:32):
Yeah, bothers me. But I do like the fact that
he was offended that anybody would think that that would
be the move. But I think shows a clear divide
and difference between the NFL and the NBA and the NBA.
Oh so and so is not playing the fact that
it was even insinuated off a joke on Twitter that
David Bochtieri was sitting out because he was load managing
(07:52):
his knee injury, that he didn't want to play an
artificial turf. He took offense to that, and as LeVar
pointed out, reprimanded the media for it that right there,
you why the NFL is better in the NBA, right
there alone, mentality, it's not the way we play this game.
Even though his knees falling apart. But at least he
got paid three weeks before he got the the he
suffered the injury in twenty twenty, so at least he
(08:13):
got a contract out of it.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
But boy, that guy could chug a beer too.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Huh, yes he can.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Yeah, that's fun to watch. It's fun watching play left tackle.
But I don't mind watching chug beers.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
Sipping and ripping.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
I'm going to do that if my head holds up.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
You might need to do that, like, because your head's.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Not holding up. Oh, it'll get worse. Oh really yeah?
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Wait, did you have caffeine yesterday? Iowa Sam, Doctor Iowa
Sam gave you the remedy for the situation or migraine.
Speaker 5 (08:43):
I have had MRI eyes scans, hit scans, you name it,
to go over my head and how I can address
my migraines. And I have I have scripts, you know,
stuff like that. I have, I have, I have medicine
for it. It's just the migrains that I get I
(09:06):
was telling you guys in the text message yesterday. They say,
what conventionally you only use only up to about fifteen
percent of your brain. So I'm saying I think I've
been pushing twenty percent lately. And it's like lifting weights
with your arms, you know, when when you use it
it hurts, you know, And I think I think I've
(09:26):
been really, really really challenging my brain to tap into
different parts of it, and you know, really more so
on the front frontal lobes, you know, the cortex of
everything that's going on in my brain.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
And I think that that's why it hurts.
Speaker 4 (09:44):
How are you going?
Speaker 2 (09:45):
I'm doing brain ups?
Speaker 4 (09:46):
How are you going to tailgate in State College this weekend?
When Penn State beats the breaks off?
Speaker 5 (09:51):
Wow, it's gonna break Is it gonna break?
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Beat the brakes off them?
Speaker 5 (09:56):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Yeah, I mean I was one of the last two LeVar.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
Yeah, no, I was with you at one Listen, I
don't I know, I know, dude, I was there.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Yeah, we were together.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
We were there, well sort of, you like, as soon
as we got on the field, you went to like
the other side, and all I recall is They're like,
and I heard this this story secondhand, so you can
verify is they're like, all right, if we get down
the field, just like, don't you know, do anything to
draw attention all that LaVar like led the team out
in the field. I did not lead the team out
(10:29):
all okay, but it was you were like high five
of guy's chest puppet.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Dudes, they were coming over to me. I was standing.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
I was standing on the side line where I was
supposed to talk with that trash I I was with Dave.
I was chilling. But they you know, they came and showed.
They came and showed the old man some love when
they was coming down there.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
All I know is that first half LeVar was giving
it to the Iowa fans, and then the second half
it was not the same.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
He was.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
He was legitimately mad at their quarterback.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
Like, well we had to put that baby and he
isn't even there anymore now I know he transferred. They
put him in and he was not ready for that game. No,
I mean we would have won the game with Clifford. Yeah,
Clifford was bawling, But you were talking so much, oh
so bad. I was talking bad to him. I was
talking bad to the fans. And then you know, pointing
(11:19):
dudes out like we got you, I got you, I
got you.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
On site outside, I was like, wow, this is intense.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
Then they started taking over and then and then you're
in the green room, You're like, yeah, let's go get
some food. Let's get some food, Let's get let's.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Watch some other games and see what's Let's watch the
rest from the stage.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Hey man, it's it's tough, like when you're watching your
squad lose, like I was with Mark Ingram flying back
during the Alabama on the PJ Texas No no.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
No no, yeah. Yeah. I think didn't have Wi Fi
so that was a losappointed.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
But anyway, we were were watching Alabama texts together and
I'll be hon like I was. You know, when you're
with someone who there rooting for the squad, no different
than like LaVar, like you want to root along with them,
you know, like you're living through with them. And Mark
was just beside himself. Man, it was just not good.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
Quinn Ewers lit them up.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Yeah, he played great. It was fun. He's played great.
He's really grown and mature. Man.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
It's fun to watch like the maturation process of young
people and him in particular, like a lot of people
contribute to the haircut and all. It's like, that's not that.
Like when I sat down and talked to him, he
just had a different demeanor. You know, he understood what
it means to be the quarterback in Texas, the opportunity
he has in front of himself, the opportunity his team
has in front of itself. And it's cool to see
(12:40):
when that light clicks for young people and it has
for him. And I think he's he's gonna have a
big year.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Man. He's already already off to a good start.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
But you know, if he plays the way I think
he can, you're gonna start hearing Quinn you Were's name
along with you know, Shador Sanders and Drake May and
Kayleb Williams as some of those first round.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
Quarterbacks are making movement on the Heisman odds as well too,
Like he's been climbing just based on his performance there.
So it is two pros and a cup of Joe
here on Fox Sports Radio, brought to you by DraftKings Sportsbook.
Are you learning to looking to turn a small bet
into a big payday? With DraftKings Sportsbook, same game parlays,
you can pocket more cash when you can bind multiple
(13:20):
bets from one game. For example, we were just talking
about David Baktiari and the Green Bay Packers. Well, wouldn't
you know if the Green Bay Packers are playing this
weekend and it just so happens to be the first
home game at lambeau Field this year for the Packers.
So if you're looking at this and you're going, okay,
David Bachtiari is a little bit upset with some of
the rumors and reports out there. Jordan Love finally gets
(13:42):
a home game. They're a two point favorite. I think
the offense is going to go off a little bit
on New Orleans, who's playing on a short week. You
just go to DraftKings and you see green Bay minus
two and the over of forty two and a half.
That could be the play for you. And if it is,
all you gotta do is down helload the app, sign
up with code two pros that's the number two pros,
(14:03):
and get a special offer. Restrictions apply. See DraftKings dot
com Slash sportsbook for details. Coming up next, though, we
are going to discuss Somebody on this show brought up
a point earlier that I don't think they realized what
exactly they were saying. But a lot of narratives about
the NFL not exactly true. We'll tell you why that
(14:25):
is coming up next here on FSR.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
Yeah go Mark, all right, Jonas, look at your calendar.
What's today? I don't know what's today?
Speaker 2 (14:52):
National Earth one Fire, it's coming up.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
Hold on, I already passed.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Oh did Dan? It's the twenty well, the twenty first
of September.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
The lyrics, so I had to play this song.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
So that's day smer.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
I think it's the last day of summer today. Yeah,
but I think Fall actually starts on the twenty third. Yeah,
go bar good, bar, Yeah, come on bar Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
It is Two Pros and a Cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio. And actually the first day of
Fall confirmation is on Saturday, so it's not uh, it's
not tomorrow, Sam, okay, so we have we have today
and tomorrow summer left.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Yeah, Okay, Sam, in your defense. It doesn't change the
fact that is the twenty first of SEPTEMBA.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
Thank you, you know, thank you.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
That is true.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
And by the way, is it even getting fall like
anywhere in the country right now? It feels like.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
It was when we were in Border last week. Really Yeah,
it was like highest of like seventies and like down
in like the high fifties.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
A little different than Fort Worth week one.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Yes, that's sweltering sweatbox.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
By the way, League get ready for South Carolina humidity
that could pop up this weekend. Just want to make
you aware. I'm looking forward to it. Yeah, I would
just you know, keep everything aired out a little bit,
you know what I mean, Little little swamp ass action
in the South could pop up. So we are going
to coming up in we'll call it about twenty minutes
(16:29):
from now, going to close up shop here with another
edition of You inter You out here from the ti
raq dot com studios. We were talking about the game
that kicks off Week three in the NFL coming up
later on tonight. We've got the Giants at the forty
nine Ers. No Saquon Barkley for the Giants. They've got
injuries on the offensive line in San Francisco looks to
be one of the more dominant teams in the NFL.
(16:50):
They are a ten and a half point favorite courtesy
of our friends on DraftKings. So that'll be the game
that kicks off Week three here in the NFL. This
coming up later on tonight, But LeVar, you made mention
of something earlier and it got me to thinking. So
you were talking about how San Francisco may have the
most complete roster in the NFL, and then I started thinking, Okay, well,
(17:12):
who else would be on the short list of most
complete rosters in the NFL? And it kind of feels
like it's NFC heavy, and we look at the NFC
is almost like it's a down year for the NFC
in comparison to what the AFC's got going on. And
should we rethink that because if you go Philly, Dallas,
and San Francisco, like, which AFC team even pops up
(17:36):
on the list of most complete rosters?
Speaker 1 (17:39):
I don't know about that, but Kansas City would be
the one.
Speaker 5 (17:41):
You don't have to be more complete if you had
Patrick Mahomes though.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Yeah, but their defense has played well. I mean, I
think one of the things that's flown under the radar.
Is their defense has been the most consistent piece, and
Pacheco's been great out of the backfield so far. It's
just we don't talk about them or highlight it because
it's not a passing you know, it's not a receiver
pass catcher, and it's not the passing game. When you've
got a team with Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
Where would Buffalo fall in the list?
Speaker 2 (18:10):
They're pretty good. I don't I wouldn't say complete, fully complete,
pretty good.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
I think Miami might also, maybe Miami would be.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
I think Miami is the most dangerous team. They're the
most dangerous because they just had that They have that
Saint Louis Rams with Kurt Warner, with oza Quim and
prol and Bruce and Tory Holt, like they have kind
of like that feel to them, like they can fast
break you. You know, they're dangerous. I think they're the
(18:42):
most dangerous team for certain Yeah, like Miami.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
And Jalen Wattle is dealing with what he's got concussion
right now, so he's still in the protocol after after
the blow he took on Sunday night against the Patriots.
But yeah, I'm just it just got to me thinking
because there there was a few feeling that. Man, you know,
the NFC is a down year. You'll get some teams
that may get into the postseason that would have no
shot in the AFC. And I just look around and
you go, man, Niners, Eagles, Cowboys. That's that's as good
(19:11):
as it gets. And they're all on that side of
the league. So Kansas City's got Patrick Mahomes. Obviously, Buffalo
had a bounce back week last week. Miami's a lot
of fun. We need a deep run from Miami Dolphins
in the playoffs, though. We've got to have that deep run.
Speaker 5 (19:27):
You know what's crazy? The Jets are a very complete team.
They just don't have a quarterback.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
Yeah, kind of a problem.
Speaker 5 (19:41):
Even though the Cowboys exposed that defense. I'll be interested
to see how they play this weekend.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
Is this really?
Speaker 1 (19:48):
Is this really what we want to talk about here?
You don't want to talk about like the trades?
Speaker 4 (19:51):
Well no, I mean listen, I just you know, it
got me to thinking a little bit, So I just
want to this conversation. Okay, Well let's get into all.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Right, honest with you, bang right, what the hell we
talked about?
Speaker 4 (20:03):
All right? What do you want to get cam Akers
gets dealt for like a thirty What.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
The crazy thing is about by it's like a twenty
twenty six pick. We're we're out in the NBA era
of like trading picks. So far in the future, no
one cares camp Akers. We reminded me coming out of
Florida state of Dalvin Cook. And obviously he had some
issues with whatever the hell went on with the La
Rams during his.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
Time and they still haven't said what it was publicly.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Right, But then now he goes to Minnesota, a team
that literally from a comp perspective, just how a guy
like him and Dalvin Cook they just moved on from.
But they're bringing in cam Akers. And even though they
had some issues with Dalvin Cook by the scenes, but
you're bringing a guy who just had issues with the Rams.
It's like they're almost bringing in the clone of Dalvin
Cook at least based on like what I remember seeing
(20:49):
him in college and we was kind of gets to
the league and you see that top end ability. I
just find it interesting. It's almost like the Minnesota Vikings
in some way or maybe admitting a bit of a mistake.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
I don't think they should have gotten rid of Dalvin Cook,
and I understand, look, I understand the money aspect of it,
but I looked at this year as the one last
shot if you weren't going to give Kirk Cousins a
long term deal, and you had justin Jefferson still on
his rookie deal, and and you just won the division
last year, which I think everybody forgets about because we're
all talking about, you know, the Lions and everybody else
(21:22):
in the NFC and Minnesota what was what thirteen? Were
they thirteen and four last year like Minnesota was they were?
And then they just parted ways with Dalvin Cook, which
it felt like you could have made that work, and
you know, he probably would have been better off taken
whatever they were going to offer him in the final
year of the deal than whatever he took, you know,
to take With the New York Jets, I think they
(21:44):
I think they cut the cord a year too early.
I think this was the year they could have made
some noise. And now they're sitting oh and two, taken
on another zero to two team and the Chargers this weekend.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
So your point, it never made any sense considering where
Cousins is at, Cooks is at like this was kind
of that final year and they they moved on from
one of those pieces. And it's nothing against Alexander Madison.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
He's a good player.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
I don't view him as the same explosiveness as Dalvin Cook.
So now they find themselves giving up a draft pick
to get what they just gave up that they you know,
should have just kept went all in for this year.
Let's see if their chips fall and instead, now they're
staring Owen three dead in the eyes. We've only seen
one team since the NFL has expanded to seven teams
on each side be able to make the playoffs from
(22:29):
O and two. That was Cincinnati last year. You know
they're staring Ohen three potentially in the eyes. They gotta
take on with the Chargers. I think God take the over.
Like the Points Game fifty four, It's gonna be so sexy.
Cousins Herbert, Cousins, Herbert hot right hand. It's just like
hay Baker's back and forth the entire game.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
Couple a couple of desperate teams. Brandon feel the heat
just slanging, just slinging it, slanging it and LeVar back
in a single day clanging it.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
And what slanging it and what what else would you say?
What else did you say?

Hard to feel that way. Oklahoma's been playing really well.
Dylan Gabriel is a dark horse for Heisman the waist
plan right now. And you know, Cincinnati is coming off
a disappointing loss to maam Ohio. Every Jones, the quarterback
at at uh at Cincinnati had a couple bad picks

Do you have someone take a picture of you kissing
the ground when you land?
Speaker 5 (30:15):
You know, I think I'll be by myself so and
I don't It's it's such a personal moment. I don't
even know that I will want somebody to see it
or or take a picture of it. I don't even
know that people. I guess people do pay attention because
it's a small flight. So generally speaking, especially during football season,
(30:35):
you know, people are like yeah, yeah, I knew it
was him. I knew it was LeVar Yep.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
I knew.
Speaker 5 (30:40):
So by the time we get to the place and
I kiss the ground, they're like, yeah, he's kissing the
ground type deal. I guess for any attention, it's just
very quick. I go down the little little walkway, boom
boom boom, get to the jetway, I kiss the ground,
and then I float the rest in time.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
You know, you should kiss the ground and then point
to your shoes.
Speaker 5 (31:01):

I'm going to wear today, because.

of Jordan's.

feet this weekend. Right, Yeah, I'm talking about I thought
they were a different variation of version of Nike's but
he did a collaboration with with Nike, and there's Nike
off Whites, so there's that.
Speaker 2 (32:22):

whole curl and you set. Oh you are tore up
from the floor up.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
