what the allegations are. They're sending out scouts two games
who are then recording or or getting an idea of
the signals from those games. Every team ever has done this.

I'll be honest with you. I used to do this
with my uncle when I was young as a little kid.
For one of my uncle's coaches, we used to go
scout out the opponent and we take their signals there.
I'd have a little notepad. I'll be ten years old
as stands writing all this down.

I mean, isn't that supposed to be a part of
your scouting report. Any any information that you're able to.

I mean, listen, that's why you have to be creative
in the things that you're doing. Like they have like
three or four dudes going I don't know, I don't know.

you're focused in on, and you connect it to the play,
then if you look at it enough, you can start
to connect what's what I mean, it's it's you have
to unscramble the code. It's still a code that you
have to unscramble. But you can if you get enough
film of them putting up their signs. Because the most
guys they put up the putting up the signs. You know,

they have different colored shirts on stuff like that.

find Okay, every single time this color goes up, they
run a you know, they run all goes or every
time this goes up, it's a run. So they might
not even get it broken down, which I would assume
they do, but they might not even get it broken
down to what the exact play is. But if you

can get a if you can get a lead on
if they're running or if they're passing, that does give
you a competitive edge in the game for sure.

But I mean to me, like personnel tells you that
more personnel does. I'll be honest with you. We got
a lot of Ohio State fans in if Trayvon Henderson plays,
when he's in, it's more outside zone running. When my
whims is in, when he's in, it's more in between

of run it's going to be based on the interesting
thing about signals and like you gotta go in the

So I'm gonna do a bunch of stuff and everyone's

hit my nose, my arm, whatever. Then whatever I do
after that as what's live. And that's usually how they
are able to hide signals because then you can be
watching the guy who's doing it and you're like, oh,
he's doing this, or he did this that time.

Because you switch up every quarter, which which what the
indicator is. So you don't pay attention to anything when
you're watching the signal until he hits the indicator. Whatever
he does after that, I know that's now the signal.
So I mean, look at the college level and even
at the NFL level, they've been stealing signs forever.

Like anytime something like this comes up and it's known
quietly that everybody does it, I just go, Okay, why
did this come up?

I'll say this, Hardball is the most difficult coach in
the Big ten to deal with, hands down, as an
analyst as as a part of doing any sort of game.
He's difficult to talk to. When you get him, He's

also possible opponents in the College Football Playoff, which would
mean they're expecting to beat Ohio State again. They're expecting

that out there, because you're not getting to the College

he's kind of calling a shot, and I'm a little
surprised that people.

Alabama Tennessee. Only time you'll ever see a field goal
post get thrown in a river. Yeah, that was this
game last year. Tennessee put them on the map. If
you'll recall Hendon Hooker to Jalen Hyatt, the big plays,
the big offense for Tennessee upsetting the Crimson Tide. This
is not the same Tennessee team this year same not
the same team. They led the country in thirty plus

yard passes a year ago. They're ninety third this year.
It's been a little bit more of a struggle with
Joe Miller that quarterback. But the defense for Tennessee has
been much better, averaging one hundred less yards per game,
almost two touchdowns less per game, so much improved, and
taking down an Alabama offense that's also much improved last

four weeks with Jalen Milroe in particular, stretching the field downfield.
Member's got nine total touchdowns, only two interceptions, kept putting
about sixty five percent of his passes too, and averaging
a little over two hund and ten yards per game.
So much improved in that respect. Look, this game, to
me is gonna be tight. That's how it's been for
Bamba of late. Even as good as they've been, their
defense keeps them in games. They're the best right now

in the SEC. So I like taking the nine point. Now,
this number wasn't eight and a half, it's got as
high as nine and a half. I like taking the
nine points in Tennessee here. I also like the over
of forty eight in this one. I think that number
is a little bit low, even though it should be
more of a defensive battle between the two. Next up,
Duke headed to Tallahasset to take on Florida State. This

is a big number, fourteen points last time I checked.
And Riley Leonard, the quarterback for Duke, has been battling
an ankle injury, but it's numbers up for fourteen and
a half. Now he's looking like he's gonna be probably
probable to go in this one.

Last week they started true freshman Henry Beelin and he
went four for twelve, passing two touchdowns at a pick
in that statue went so hey man, high productivity for

Yeah, but Jordan Waters, they're running back there. We'll carry
the load for Duke and then they're more defensively built anyway.
So I actually think they'll match up pretty well with

them after getting beat down by Notre Dame last week.
Just an awful performance. Caleb Wims maybe the worst performance
of his career this far. Three picks, they had five
total turnovers. A lot of people have been questioning the
USC defense. They actually were all right last week. Only
give up thirteen points. Now, it's tough with two when

you got short fields they had to deal with. But
they're taken on a Utah team that's not going to
have Cam Rising at quarterback. Looks like he's probably gonna
miss the entire season. Bryce and Barnes has been coming
in taking over. We've seen Nate Johnson two for them.
This is largely a defensive team that's led by the
rushing attack that's had Lincoln Riley's number the past two years. Again,
I like Utah to stay within the number. A lot

of dogs so far in this one, but it's about
six and a half. This will be a lower scoring
game though the overnners set at fifty six.

And to cap it all off, the game of the weekend,
the number seven Penn State and in the Lions travel
the Columbus to take on the Ohio State buck guys
at number three. Penn State is getting four and a
half points. This is the number one rushing offense in
the Big Ten. This is the number one defense in
the Big Ten when talking about Penn State, and they

match up extremely well. Des Isaac chop Robinson, my guy,
LeVar Arrington's guy, Abdul Carter, Kaylin King can match up
in the secondary versus Marvin Harrison Junior. This is one
of those matchup games and you look at strength on strength,
both these teams match up really well. Oh what does
that mean?

going to do to the right side of the offensive

what the allegations are. They're sending out scouts two games
who are then recording or or getting an idea of
the signals from those games. Every team ever has done this.

I'll be honest with you. I used to do this
with my uncle when I was young as a little kid.
For one of my uncle's coaches, we used to go
scout out the opponent and we take their signals there.
I'd have a little notepad. I'll be ten years old
as stands writing all this down.

Wow. So Brady Quinn, this has been going on forever.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
I mean, isn't that supposed to be a part of
your scouting report. Any any information that you're able to.
Speaker 1 (04:11):

I mean, listen, that's why you have to be creative
in the things that you're doing. Like they have like
three or four dudes going I don't know, I don't know.

want but you know you know which one to look
at that game. Now here's where it comes into play
in terms of where you say, okay, if that's where
they're getting an unfair competitive advantage is is if you're
able to scout enough games, then now you're able to
create the pattern of the correlation of what they're doing

across the board. If you have if that's solely what
you're focused in on, and you connect it to the play,
then if you look at it enough, you can start
to connect what's what I mean, it's it's you have
to unscramble the code. It's still a code that you
have to unscramble. But you can if you get enough
film of them putting up their signs. Because the most
guys they put up the putting up the signs. You know,

they have different colored shirts on stuff like that.

They do the signs and so if you're able to
find Okay, every single time this color goes up, they
run a you know, they run all goes or every
time this goes up, it's a run. So they might
not even get it broken down, which I would assume
they do, but they might not even get it broken
down to what the exact play is. But if you

can get a if you can get a lead on
if they're running or if they're passing, that does give
you a competitive edge in the game for sure.

But I mean to me, like personnel tells you that
more personnel does. I'll be honest with you. We got
a lot of Ohio State fans in if Trayvon Henderson plays,
when he's in, it's more outside zone running. When my
whims is in, when he's in, it's more in between
the tackles. Yeah, I mean, there's you know what type
of run it's going to be based on the interesting
thing about signals and like you gotta go in the

baseball world, usually how you disguise, you have an indicator.
So I'm gonna do a bunch of stuff and everyone's
gonna do a bunch of stuff. Doesn't matter until I
hit my nose, my arm, whatever. Then whatever I do
after that as what's live. And that's usually how they
are able to hide signals because then you can be
watching the guy who's doing it and you're like, oh,
he's doing this, or he did this that time.

Because you switch up every quarter, which which what the
indicator is. So you don't pay attention to anything when
you're watching the signal until he hits the indicator. Whatever
he does after that, I know that's now the signal.
So I mean, look at the college level and even
at the NFL level, they've been stealing signs forever.

Like anytime something like this comes up and it's known
quietly that everybody does it, I just go, Okay, why
did this come up?
Speaker 2 (07:19):
I mean is after Michigan.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Because it continues, they're going to continue to HA made
somebody so upset. He has irritated somebody so bad that
they're continuing. I'm trying to get out.

I'll say this, Hardball is the most difficult coach in
the Big ten to deal with, hands down, as an
analyst as as a part of doing any sort of game.
He's difficult to talk to. When you get him, He's
difficult to talk to, like the stuff he says. And
I think he does that with the investigation. I think
the handles that with the NCAA.

He did that with the university. I mean he's ticked
off the university. And that's why he had this.

to serve because he's take so many people off there

Alabama Tennessee. Only time you'll ever see a field goal
post get thrown in a river. Yeah, that was this
game last year. Tennessee put them on the map. If
you'll recall Hendon Hooker to Jalen Hyatt, the big plays,
the big offense for Tennessee upsetting the Crimson Tide. This
is not the same Tennessee team this year same not
the same team. They led the country in thirty plus
(20:12):
yard passes a year ago. They're ninety third this year.
It's been a little bit more of a struggle with
Joe Miller that quarterback. But the defense for Tennessee has
been much better, averaging one hundred less yards per game,
almost two touchdowns less per game, so much improved, and
taking down an Alabama offense that's also much improved last
(20:33):
four weeks with Jalen Milroe in particular, stretching the field downfield.
Member's got nine total touchdowns, only two interceptions, kept putting
about sixty five percent of his passes too, and averaging
a little over two hund and ten yards per game.
So much improved in that respect. Look, this game, to
me is gonna be tight. That's how it's been for
Bamba of late. Even as good as they've been, their
defense keeps them in games. They're the best right now
(20:55):
in the SEC. So I like taking the nine point. Now,
this number wasn't eight and a half, it's got as
high as nine and a half. I like taking the
nine points in Tennessee here. I also like the over
of forty eight in this one. I think that number
is a little bit low, even though it should be
more of a defensive battle between the two. Next up,
Duke headed to Tallahasset to take on Florida State. This
(21:17):
is a big number, fourteen points last time I checked.
And Riley Leonard, the quarterback for Duke, has been battling
an ankle injury, but it's numbers up for fourteen and
a half. Now he's looking like he's gonna be probably
probable to go in this one.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Now he won't have to do a ton.
Speaker 5 (21:33):
Last week they started true freshman Henry Beelin and he
went four for twelve, passing two touchdowns at a pick
in that statue went so hey man, high productivity for
forking plea.

That will get you a statue outside Soldier Field.
Speaker 5 (21:48):
Yeah, but Jordan Waters, they're running back there. We'll carry
the load for Duke and then they're more defensively built anyway.
So I actually think they'll match up pretty well with
Florida State.

And they knocked off Clemson to start the year, so
they've got the players in the outside.

Went easy cover for Notre Dame in that game. Never
a doubt, Never in Taliba in this one.

Though Johnny Wilson was out last week for Florida State,
big wide receivers should be back to match up with
Keon Coleman. That being said, take Duke and the points.
I think they keep the one within the number. And
again another game. I like the over of forty nine
in this one. Florida State's given up some points in there,
all right. Utah headed to Southern California to take on

Southern Cal. Southern Cal trying to get that stank off
them after getting beat down by Notre Dame last week.
Just an awful performance. Caleb Wims maybe the worst performance
of his career this far. Three picks, they had five
total turnovers. A lot of people have been questioning the
USC defense. They actually were all right last week. Only
give up thirteen points. Now, it's tough with two when
(22:49):
you got short fields they had to deal with. But
they're taken on a Utah team that's not going to
have Cam Rising at quarterback. Looks like he's probably gonna
miss the entire season. Bryce and Barnes has been coming
in taking over. We've seen Nate Johnson two for them.
This is largely a defensive team that's led by the
rushing attack that's had Lincoln Riley's number the past two years. Again,
I like Utah to stay within the number. A lot
(23:11):
of dogs so far in this one, but it's about
six and a half. This will be a lower scoring
game though the overnners set at fifty six.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
I like the under of this one.
Speaker 5 (23:21):
And to cap it all off, the game of the weekend,
the number seven Penn State and in the Lions travel
the Columbus to take on the Ohio State buck guys
at number three. Penn State is getting four and a
half points. This is the number one rushing offense in
the Big Ten. This is the number one defense in
the Big Ten when talking about Penn State, and they
(23:43):
match up extremely well. Des Isaac chop Robinson, my guy,
LeVar Arrington's guy, Abdul Carter, Kaylin King can match up
in the secondary versus Marvin Harrison Junior. This is one
of those matchup games and you look at strength on strength,
both these teams match up really well. Oh what does
that mean?

It means you go with the dog here in this
case take the points.

It should be a tight game, one where you're probably
looking at whoever's got the football last kicking a field.

in the twenties. I believe it'll be in the twenties.
Ohio State's going to struggle on offense against this defense,
the high pressure defense man. They're going to struggle against
this this defense. And the one thing that you got
to understand is their rotation.

They're so deep.

They don't get tired, like you got to deal with
the same speed for four quarters because their rotation is
really deep. And then this is probably to me, the
first year that I can see that Penn State up
front matches up equally, if not better, in the trenches
on both sides of.

The ball the line for Penn State, it's been phenomenous year.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
I might as well look at the left side of
the line and say you got to do everything you're
going to do to the right side of the offensive
line because Olu is not He hasn't given up a
sack since he's been in school, since he's been a starter,
so that cancels out his blind side.

This is a big step up game for Drew Aller.
I'm happy for Drew Aller because this.

He gets to come home and he gets to take,
you know, the crown off of the King of the
Big ten.

One thing that's interesting is, you know, looking at some
of the stats, and this one became a topic of
conversation with James Franklin las week, was they don't push
the ball down the field, as he's only got five
attempts over twenty five.

you have to ask yourself the question does that play
into well, I wonder if they've been holding it back,
and that's.

A possibility because we do have day Kwon hardy like
we have. We haven't needed to do it a week
and that's the point. We haven't needed to do it.
And and that battering round. You got two bulls in
the backfield, and and you could say the third back
is almost like he's the switch up back in Trey Totts.

He's he's like, he's more shifty. He you know, he's got.

First Minnesota transferred, he's a vet. He's a graduate guy,
speaking of graduate hotel. But but to deal with k
Tron and Nick Singleton is that's that's going to be

And on the flip side, Ohio State has been banged
up and running back Travon Henderson's missed a couple of
games now May and Williams missed Chip train him. They
I believe, are going to be back for this one.
And if there is a weakness in the Penn State defense,
we talked about this, they're a little light in the
interior and that's what you're concerned by. A fewer pen stacks.

I'm excited to see the matchup on the outside you mentioned,
can I tell you who's going to steal the show? Though?
For Hio State.

God, because this is the one matchup I'm curious about.
Is man No Kate stole the tight end. I think
I think he's that tough because he does everything. He's
like you talked about, like kind of doing the dirty work.
He's great at the point of attack, run blocking, he's
great off play action, boots things, he finds space to
get open, and he's like, unassumingly a much better athlete.
