Today on 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe, the Bengals are back in contender mode while the Niners are hitting the panic button after a 3-game skid. Right as Kirk Cousins got the appreciation he deserved, he suffers a season ending Achilles injury. And Seattle looks like the real deal but would have lost if Deshaun Watson was in for the Browns.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
It's the best of two pros and a couple Joe
with Lamar Rings and Rady Win and Jonas Knots on radio.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
That was a weird one in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Did you think so?

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (00:17):
It was.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
It's Halloween. It's Halloween time and costumes and goobs and
goblins come out to play, and you know some sometimes
you just have you know, chiefs. They decide not to
deal with broncos and put them back in and you know,

(00:39):
coral them and put them back into you know where
they're supposed to be to graze and all. It's uh.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
I also think no teams on a bye this week
was kind of a weird little twist in the schedule
because normally when the bye weeks start, there's teams on
a buy every single week, and this week there was none.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
No.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
I don't really know why that was the it was
the place or why that was the time they decided
to go ahead and do that. But nonetheless, no team's
on a buy and it was a weird one.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
But I'll say this, a lot of turnovers, man, Yeah,
sloppy foot, a lot of turnovers. Your boy brock party man,
he's trying to be turning it over now. Is that
the bigger story?

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Or is it that the Cincinnati Bengals are back because
Cincinnati looks like they found something Joe Burrow actually looks
healthy for the first time in a long time.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
And or is the bigger story that Could San Francisco
be in trouble?

Speaker 4 (01:34):
I don't know, yeah, but I mean you were now
you have been pounding the table. By the way, Justin
Cooper Cooper is a Browns fan, Like, no, he's a
Broncos like he's sitting in it with in a Carl Mecklenberg.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Jersey in the other studio. How the hell did y'all
win that game? Man, that's the biggest story. It's not
that big of a story we're gonna I mean, we'll
get to it for sure. But the sun shines on
a blind dog at least one time in its life.
That's I have heard that. Bang bang. They said a
blind squirrel finds an acorn at least one time, and
it's like, that's just what I heard. But I as

(02:09):
soon have to find more a starvation. Yeah, maybe get
ate up, But I don't understand how the Broncos won
this game, even on a Kansas City down day. I
just don't. I don't get it. How did they defense
Patrick Mahomes and this this Kansas City Chiefs team the
way that they did, this same team that gave up
seventy points to the Miami Dolphins. Well, he was sick,

(02:32):
I mean, is that what we're going with? Yeh, Patrick
Mahomes is sick? Of course? Come on, what type of flu?
Bronco flu? Yeah, I don't know what it was? Mile
high flu, mouth high.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
I'm sure he is a real thing for a shout
out to all you potheads out there, I'm sure you
have the mile high flu.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Did brock Party have the mal high flu? For the
second week in a row? With what he had going on?

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Since they've beaten the Dallas Cowboys, which feels like a
long time ago on Sunday Night football, they have not
looked the same. And look, you know, circumstances dictate how
these games go. There was the game against Cleveland. We
obviously understand that. Then you know last Monday night, you know,
he may or may not have been concussed in that game,

(03:12):
and you know finished the game and didn't you know,
threw a couple of picks late in that game after
suffering the concussion reportedly. And then yesterday, I never got
the feeling watching that game, and I don't know how
you felt about LeVar. I never got the feeling that
the Niners were going to be able to keep up
with Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
There was a moment maybe a second or third quarter.
I'm not sure to be exact. It's a little blurry
and watching all the games, but I just I just
it's a little blurr, yeah, a little just a tad bit,
good morning to you. I just I was, I was watching,

(03:53):
and there were moments where I was like, Okay, brock
Is is serving it. It might have been the third
quarter he was serving it, and it looked as though
they could climb back into the game. But it just
always seemed like Burrow had an answer. And then there
were just what maybe a critical, untimely mistake made by

(04:20):
by the forty nine ers, Like they they give up
something on defense, a big play on defense or on offense.
You know, they find a way to move the ball,
get a good play, make a big play, and they
just couldn't They couldn't catch them. Just didn't seem like
they could catch. Not against those Bengals.

Speaker 6 (04:39):
No, they're bad, not not playing at that level, right, Like,
like that offense, that's it's Kansas City, it's Cincinnati, it's
I'm not really sure who else falls in that category
when they're clicking on all cylinders. Maybe you say the Eagles,
especially the way AJ Brown's playing right now, But that

(05:00):
offense is just it's tough to match up. It's tough
to stop. I mean that being said, I would have
thought the forty nine ers well with I think with Debo.
I think with Debo Entry, maybe it's different. I guess
right like that that he might. He gives you so
many different issues. And I actually thought Brock with the
exception of a couple of the picks, like he played well,

(05:21):
Like he really did me. He let him be rushing,
He kind of did a little bit of everything. Like
I thought, if you were concerned about it in the past
couple of weeks, like he probably alleviated a lot of
that concern. I think this game for you if you're
a forty nine Ers fan, because I know that was
like a narrative too, right because he played so well
going into you know, a couple of weeks ago, and
then once they you know, kind of went on this

(05:42):
three game skid. The first two losses are going all right,
we didn't play as well. He played well in this one.
It was just, you know, the Bengals right now I
think are to me a team that's red hot. I
don't think anyone wants to play the sinctinety Bengals right
now like that. To me, that offense, the way they're playing,
to the defense, the way they've been all year, that's

(06:03):
a that's a dangerous team.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Now.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
They looked pretty good. Man defense looked pretty good. I
still felt as though San Francisco had the opportunity to
do something with it. Let me ask you a question,
because I thought this like and I thought I thought
Party did play well for the most part. But I
was just wondering, Like I had a kid when I

(06:27):
was coaching. It was my rookie year as a head coach,
and he had a really really nice arm, real real
good arm talent for for high school ball. And at first,
you know, during seven on seven league, he threw the
ball really really well, like was serving them. We get

(06:48):
to the season, same thing is going on. He's doing
really well. Then he has a game where it kind
of it didn't go well for him. He threw some interceptions,
and I almost felt like he never recovered from.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
It.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Almost was like he started that moment of second guessing
or or that moment of pause like maybe am I
making the right decision here? Kept leading to the same
type of results. I almost felt like because Party was
throwing the interceptions almost to the same exact place, and

(07:26):
it's almost like, is there a moment of doubt, Like
is Perty having moments of doubt? You know that that
moment of pause that's allowing for a defender to be
able to read underneath, because these are linebackers that are
are making these plays against against Purty. It's it's not
necessarily like he's throwing a bad deep ball. It's like

(07:47):
a read in the middle of the field that that
he's getting getting picked off. I just wonder, do you
think that maybe he's second guessing. Maybe he didn't have
that type of I don't want to say fear, but
maybe you know, throwing the ball early on. But as
as more pressure gets on him now to be the
type of quarterback that you know, everybody thinks he is

(08:09):
or or they want him to be of what they've seen,
maybe he's putting a little bit more pressure on himself
than thinking a little bit too long, I would ask you,
I mean, I could be totally off, but I just
feel like there's like a moment of pause and it's
giving guys, it's giving defenders the opportunity to get in
front of his passes.

Speaker 6 (08:28):
I mean, I think if that's as far as the
stuff over the middle, I mean, I said this last week,
what he might have been, he might have been concussed
based on the reports and everything of what we saw
in the previous game, and then this week, you know,
as far as like picks over the middle, like that's
usually what interception interceptions happen. Like if you're looking at

(08:49):
a young quarterback and you're trying to diagram where a
quarterback is, you know, I would say push to.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Throw what he's when he's early on in his career.

Speaker 6 (09:00):
It's outside, it's down the field, you know, outside or
down the middle, and then it's you know, behind the
line of scrimmage to the outsides.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Like if you really want to try.

Speaker 6 (09:10):
To avoid putting him in dangerous way, it's having him
throw against zone coverage over the middle or man coverage,
Like there's.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
A lot of bodies in there.

Speaker 6 (09:20):
There's a lot of people who could tip the football,
could put it into into harm's way. And so if
you look at most guys interceptions that most of them
come in the middle of the field. So I don't
know that there's much to draw from it, honestly, Like
I kind of feel like last week they were down,
he had to make some risky throws for them to
come back, and he made some poor throws at the

(09:41):
end of the game that ended up beeting picked off.
You know, this week it kind of felt like Morey
was more of a duel. Maybe he didn't see some
of that too.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
He's not the.

Speaker 6 (09:50):
Tallest guy, He's only about six to one, so that
there could be some times where he's not always seeing
two guys dropping out, guys moving around that turn into that.
So again, I don't think he feels the pressure of it.
He made some ridiculous he made some plays. Now he
was made some ridiculous plays. He made some ridiculous plays.
Like if anything, I think he more is unflappable, Like

(10:13):
when I watch him, like it doesn't feel like he's
bothered by much of anything. So yeah, I'm not I
don't know if it's the I wouldn't say it's the
pressure of anything. He's he seems pretty cool and calm
for how he handles himself.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
I was just surprised to see him out there because
I thought for sure he was going to miss this game. Well,
based on well on Twitter, doctors listen, there's a lot
of PhDs on Twitter who said there's no way he's
going to be in this game. But I also saw
people saying, well, you know, he did take a hit
here and he took you know, his his head. His
head struck this place here yesterday.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
And he strike ground. It did well. I mean a
lot of guys heads are striking against Well, that's very true.
There are a lot of guys I like striking with
their heads, I mean or by accident.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
Yeah, that's true. Now, brock Perty did speak afterwards. The
Niners quarterback did talk afterwards, just about his symptoms going
into the game and how he felt following the loss.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
I held one hundred.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
Percent, you know, all week my symptoms and stuff while
I weren't his back and compared to many other concussions
that the team has had, and I was doing fine,
and I was doing.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Great for each phase of the protocol.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
And then when I got cleared.

Speaker 5 (11:20):
We all, we all thought I was gonna get cleared,
and sure enough I did so. I fell a hundred
percent going into this game.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
So he was one hundred percent. The concussion is not
an excuse.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
It's three games. That's a three games scared. You can't
get out of the way of a three games. No,
you can't get out of the way. There's no way
to get out of it.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
You can't get out of the way of the fact
that somebody's got to be The Cincinnati Bengals are back.
They are back, and there's a lot of people on
this show who owe them an apology. Now, I did
not say that they were I did not write It's.

Speaker 6 (11:46):
Like who on the show deserves the play? I picked
them to within the super Bowl this year. Yeah, well,
trust me, I wasn't writing them off.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
You know, maybe I might have written them off a
couple of weeks he wrote that, Yeah, are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (11:56):
I already had their toe tags printed. I just think
it's more. I think a lot of people expected the
Bengals to to start climbing what they're clawing their way
back to what they're you know what they're doing. Yeah,
you saw that again. I think the biggest story here
is the fall off of the Niners. I mean, three

(12:20):
games in a row. Should Brock pretty be? Ben, You're
talking about one of the hottest You're talking about one
of the hottest. I mean, don't think that it didn't
is not crossing people's minds. I'm just being I mean,
I'm not I'm not saying that. I'm saying that. But
I don't think that that's not somebody. I mean, I
mean maybe not yours. But you don't think people are

(12:42):
sitting there wondering what what Sam Darnold would do. But
I mean, I don't know. All I know is they've
lost three games straight. Where's the blame?

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Lie?

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Where's a lie? Does a lie on injuries?

Speaker 6 (12:57):
They say their defense hasn't been as dominant as it's been, right, Like,
let's be real, Like when when Cincinnati need to make.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
A play, they made a play on the outside.

Speaker 6 (13:08):
I mean, I would I would say this if you're
looking for the weakness of this team, because it is
a loaded roster.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
It's a loaded team.

Speaker 6 (13:15):
If they if they want to get matchups on the outside,
they can, Like that's the truth. If they can't get
pressure up front and get after opposing quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
You can find matchups on the outside and covers.

Speaker 6 (13:28):
So that's that's what when you look at the Bangles,
when you got T Higgins, you have Jamar Chase, you
got Tyler Boyd. Like that's three. It might be the
three best in the league. That's a problem.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Deep, that's pretty deep. It's a problem. Uh, it's three
games in a row. Man for for what was seen?
You hit the battle tea. Yeah, I like you. I am.
Do you all right? Three in a row?

Speaker 3 (13:50):
Yes? I am. That's I love when I love when
you get emotional.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Yes, get ready for Twitter.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
Want to make sure because Brady and I are I
think are on the same page here. What we've just
heard is on we could just go ahead and tie
this all together. LeVar Arrington says, Kyle Shanahan is on
the hot seat. Is that where we're gonna go?

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Can there?

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (14:10):
After watching that game, like I kind of feel like
that that might be a super the Super Bowl matchup.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
But I watched the night before the Bengals Niners Super
Bowl from like nineteen eighty eight. They were doing reruns
to get people ready for the matchup, and I wouldn't
mind it Bengals. Niners just bring it all the way back.
I think Albert Breer had that as a super Bowl
pick before this.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
The Niners aren't going to the super Bowl playing the
way that they're playing right now. Damn they're not. They're
not now. They will win the West because there's no
other teams and I mean shots out to you know,
Seattle first, Seattle shots out to them. I don't. I don't.
Maybe they win it, Maybe there's maybe Seattle does get it.

(14:52):
I think San Fran will step up and get the
NFC West. I think they will, But I do think
that there's costs for concern and they can't continue to
play like this. Whatever it is, if it's the outside
and the matchups, whatever it is. Now, I get it.
You're not gonna go up against the Joe Burrow and
and that that type of receiving core every single week.

(15:14):
But if if defenses are able to do with what
you just said, Q and they can force them funnel
party back into the center of the field, and they
can get some success on the outside with their matchups.
Maybe it's not as simple as put simply put as that,
but maybe it could be. It's three games they've lost
three games.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
I love it. I love that LeVar gets it gets
into this. Yeah, I like it.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
I mean, I don't know, man, let's modify that leaf.
We could just how do you fix this? You can
edit those now.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Just be fine, man, look at depot back. They're gonna
be rolling down Trent Wills. I mean, they'll be They'll
be good.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
LeVar Arrington says Kyle Shannon should be fine. I don't
know about it.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
I'll put it this way.

Speaker 6 (15:52):
If there's a big old red panic button, are you
pressing it?

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Did I have Sam for I had the Eagles in
the super Bowl? I have the Eagles. I have a
rematch of last year's Super Bowl, so I don't need
to hit a panic button. I don't have them in
the super Bowl anyway. But do you think San Francisco
fans I think San Francisco fans are are I mean,
they got to be questioning how do you lose? How
do you lose three games in a row? Like you remember,

(16:17):
you're not that far removed from playing bro three games
in a row. You lose three games in a row,
and you're in that locker room, there's there's some tense,
gut nang moments in that locker room with three games,
like two games is like all right, fellas, like let's
tighten up. You lose three in a row in the league.
You lose three games in a row. A bear fan

(16:38):
of play aside and say, hey, what's your secret? Like
what's that? Only three for the competitive teams or at
least for the teams that think they want to be competitive.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
Competitive me neither kind of like all right.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
I just remember them early three wins, the three losses
in a row. You know, you got the five base.

Speaker 6 (17:00):
You know, I felt like we always compartmentalized, like and
the NFL is such a week to week business.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
It is, and almost a moment to moment like you look.

Speaker 6 (17:11):
At San Francisco and and if they went next week,
like you're you're, you're all your concerns are alleviated. At
least you hope, yeah, you'd hope, Like you look at
some other teams like.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
My Broncos, like the Broncos, the.

Speaker 6 (17:26):
Broncos right, like like what they did to me? They've
been building now they got three wins. They just beat
Kansas City. They haven't done in but sixteen games. Whatever
it is right against the against the UH is that
how many times?

Speaker 4 (17:41):
Yeah, they had lost sixty or fifteen sixty sixteen straight.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Yeah, it's a long time.

Speaker 6 (17:47):
Because I saw someone put out a post and they go,
No One beats No One beats the Denver Broncos seventeen
times in a row or something like that. It's like, oh,
all right, I just I feel like you canpartmentalize it
and it's a week to week thing, like every game
and it's win every game and its loss has its own,
you know, kind of reasons for a justification.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
Four.

Speaker 6 (18:08):
I don't know if there's always carry over in each one.
I mean, if you go back to Cleveland like that,
they could have won that they hit a field goal,
they win. I'm not trying to play it on just
the kicking game because they had a lot of injuries
in that game, but that was one where you looked
at and go, they hit the field goal, they win
the game. It's a two game skin now, you know,
then in each one you can kind of look at
some different mistakes. So I don't know that you hit

(18:28):
the panic button yet, but you're definitely concerned.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
So it's probably going to be a busy twenty four
hours for free agent quarterbacks out there. Brady Quinn, you're
going to get a call, all right, I'm telling you
that right now because a lot of starting quarterbacks went
down with injury yesterday.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
Could you do it, Brady? I could stand on the
sideline for sure, be a backup.

Speaker 6 (19:04):
Hell yeah, give me like three four weeks to work
out the arm, get it back into shape.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
Yeah, you could stand there, hold a clipboard.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Y'all heard it out there now, So make sure.

Speaker 6 (19:17):
I did hit up one of my buddies. He's all
the staffs, and I was like, man, because I feel
for him. You know, like when you lose your starter,
especially for a significant period of time, like in the NFL,
everyone kind of knows what that means.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
It's it's kind of like that in college.

Speaker 6 (19:32):
The college you could stack some of these kids up,
or you got like a talented guy right behind him,
you know who, maybe maybe you're gonna try to red shirt,
But now he's gonna be thrust into play. Usually in
the NFL, it's it's so different because when you got
a franchise guy, you spend on that franchise guy, and
so the next guy behind him is probably a younger
cat or not getting paid to you know, anywhere close

(19:54):
and isn't.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
Really as good as your starter.

Speaker 6 (19:57):
So the reality is like most teams are sitting there going, well,
guess we're looking on the next year, you know.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
And the early window game saw a lot of quarterbacks
go down, Tyrod Taylor, Desmond Ritter, Kenny Pickett, Matt Stafford
all knocked out of the early game, still waiting on
the significance of those injuries.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
And then I mean the Cousins, what I think, Yeah,
it's it's a torn kill.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
He's done for the season, which is which sucks considering
that's their season. Yeah, and he felt like, I mean,
we thought, you know, Justin he was playing, Yeah, and
we thought Justin Jefferson going down was going to be
the end of them. And and they've bounced back. They
get to five hundred. Jordan Addison, by the way, Uh,
he's playing really really well in place of as the

(20:42):
number one receiver in place of Justin Jefferson, and you
just see the way that Kirk's playing and it feels
like there's a like the feeling about him.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
And I don't know if it had anything to do.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
With the Netflix reality show, but the feeling about Kirk
Cousins started to change. Like there's almost been a instead
of people maybe taking shots at him or picking on him,
or you know, some people out there who want to
point out the fact that he had struggled outside of
the one people leg I agree with you there, like
now things have stuck, appreciation more appreciation for him. You know,
this guy's pretty damn durable and like actually pretty good

(21:14):
all things can then he wiped off the.

Speaker 6 (21:16):
Yeah, think about it. He was on he was on pace.
He's completing seventy percent of his passes. He's on pace
for arguably about forty eight hundred yards right, thirty six touchdowns,
ten interceptions. That's a solid year. Like that's in the
MVP conversation. I think when you look at his play
the entirety of the season, you'd you'd have to include.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Him as part of that.

Speaker 6 (21:41):
And the toughest part is the vikings we were heading
into such an unknown in the next year because he's
not under contract. You know, they're trying to get Justin
Jefferson extended obviously if he can when when he comes back.
This injury impacts, you know, his ability to make a
case based on the stats, because when you Ustin and
Jefferson was healthy, you could probably put him up for.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
Offensive Player of the year.

Speaker 6 (22:03):
He was leading he was leading the league in yards
until the hamstring injury. So and you just mentioned Jordan Addison.
I mean, he obviously is going to hit him and
hurt him as well. So it's just I don't know,
it's a tough call. They didn't trade for Nick Mullens,
you know, so there was a there was a desire
a thing to have a you know, a backup they
felt good about. So I believe he is the guy,

(22:24):
the backup on the roster. But you got to wonder
if the Vikings feel like now, sitting at four and four,
they're two and zero in the division, which you know,
if you look at the rest of the division, Chicago's
o into green Bay's one and two and then Detroit's
one and oh, like they're right in the thick of it,
And would they call a I don't know. Trey Lance
would they call for someone else who might make sense?

(22:48):
I mean Sam Donald we thought might get to start
for Sam Franz. You know, maybe you know Sam Donald
to call Carson Wentz is out there. I mean, there's
there's so many different directions they could go. But the
problem is you'd like someone that's coming in to know
the quarterback situation or know the offense. And that's the
hard part is, I don't know how many guys out
there that are that are available that could come in

(23:09):
and do even close to the job.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
Kirk Cousins is one.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
Kevin O'Connell, as head coach, spoke afterwards about the injury
and just what Kirk Cousins means to the organization.

Speaker 7 (23:19):
He's being evaluated and will be into tomorrow. We are
feeling an Achilles fearing an Achilles injury. The severity of that,
I do not know at this point, but I know
that's what you know. Our fear is in the moment,
and we'll confirm that as soon as possible. I'm thinking
of Kirk our locker room, every single player in our
locker room, you know, thinking about.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Our leader, our guy right now.

Speaker 7 (23:40):
Whatever is the case if we don't have him for
one snap or for the duration of our season. That
will not change the fact of what I believe Kirk Cousins,
the level he played to this year, and ultimately what
he's meant to me and our organization.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
So the last time Kirk Cousins missed a game was
Week seven of the twenty nine teen season. That was
due to COVID and then I mean, other than that,
never missed a game due to injury. So this is
like a really, really durable player who's now got the
achilles and he's done for the season mostly.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
Well, and you, like you said, listen, the appreciation had
started to go to a different place. It's almost like
it's like he was like the punchline of is he
a franchise quarterback joke? Yeah, but I really didn't feel
that this year in terms of how people have spoken
about him or the type of I guess just the

(24:35):
way people explained him. And so you'd have to assume
that amount of appreciation that you could feel for him
this season will probably be further solidified when you see
how big of a void is left by him not
being a part of playing in these games.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
Yeah, final year of his contract as well too, So
there is there is that out there?

Speaker 2 (24:57):
What they what do they do moving forward? There was
some thoughts. Remember, I'm curious to see if he kind
of comes at people and leverages the whole Aaron Rodgers deal.
We saw Aaron Rodgers looking like, you know, he could
possibly suit up and take a couple of snaps. I
wonder if Kirk Cousins will will kind of further build

(25:20):
his brand by trying to outdo Aaron Rodgers timetable. How
about that. Let's be competitive, dude.

Speaker 6 (25:27):
There's two things that by the way, it shouldn't go
understated for talking about injuries, people coming back. Jalen Ramsey
coming back and playing, by the way, had a nice
pick in the game.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
He did have a good pick on.

Speaker 6 (25:38):
A meniscus surgery three months out. I think it's ninety
four days out is unprecedented, Like, I don't know that
we've seen someone do that within four months. And so,
you know, I'm not sure what is going on with
these guys with rehabbit and coming back. But Rogers down
there throwing two like, guys are coming back faster than ever.

(26:00):
A Peers, they are on timetables faster than ever. I'm
just I mean, I think they'll dive into like how
that's happening. It seems like it would be. I mean,
some of stuff seems almost impossible, yet they're doing it.
So maybe it's the new rehah protocol. Maybe it's the
player and just their focus on it. I don't know
what it is, but something's going on there.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
Can I throw something out there? Just gonna ask this question?
I ask it because yeah, it does seem like players
are returning a lot quicker. Now, was there any sort
of adjustment to what's considered a banned substance in the
CBA or anything like that? Like, was there there any
sort of like like maybe the NFL PA and the NFL.

Speaker 6 (26:41):
The CBA wouldn't change what the banned substance would be.
It'd be whatever's on the banned substance list that would
be the change. I mean, the only thing they'd change
is that the method of testing, depending on what testing
they're doing on something like if some new test came along,
or if there was you know, some of their different

(27:02):
type of tests that they were now agreeing upon would
be the best way to test for street drugs and pds.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
However, they did it so.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
Because you know, Julian Edelman a few years ago got
popped and the story was, well, he was trying to
recover faster from injury. That's why you know he tested
positive and you know, pissed hot and missed four games.
What do you do he pissed hot?

Speaker 2 (27:23):
I just wonder that hot when does it ever cold?
I don't know, you know, it's fun I'm just saying.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
I mean, just when you're outside the cold and you.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
You got still warm, super warm, looks warm like Steve's
coming off that you see the vapes going up? Yeah,
do you think that maybe you're funny? Is hell? Q?

Speaker 4 (27:43):
Do you think that maybe the NFL and the nfl
PA said listen, we know it's a natural.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Thing your body is to hot. The answer is yes.
So you do think that maybe they said, why don't
we go ahead and love I was answering C. I
wasn't answering you. I wasn't even listening to us. You
go ahead and give you your conspiracy theory. I appreciate it.
I'm joking. I was listening, go ahead, I just finish.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
I just wonder if maybe they looked at us and said,
there's nothing we can do about the turff owners don't
want to change, so just let them use them.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
D Yeah, if you don't, hope you recover a little
bit quicker. Because I wish I knew what I know
now about how many guys pissed. They didn't pee hot though,
they just made it through. They were designer the whole way.
They stayed ahead of the curve. I wish, I wish

(28:32):
I would have known those people unscented apple juice that
was natural my whole entire career. Maybe I needed to
rethink that. Geez, this gass up one more time? I mean,
why not?

Speaker 3 (28:46):
I mean you couldn't you gass up now if you
want to.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
It wouldn't matter now, right.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
Well, I mean you'd feel good, look good, play good.
You know.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Yeah, then they pay good. I mean, but I don't
know what would be paying me good at this point.
Did you know on radios because they can see you
on radio?

Speaker 4 (29:03):
Could you do special teams because you give them like
something on special teams? Do you think right now, LeVar,
like if they said we'll give you like.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
O Jonas, there's not one thing other than coaching that
I could do. I wouldn't even have enough to do
equipment manager. I wouldn't be able to do any of
those things. Don't buy it for a second. I think
you could nope, Like, let's get you on like some
I really had the chance to be quality control and

(29:31):
get into the coaching game, but it's just too time consuming. Man.
I like being I am a business man, Like I
like doing business, but I like doing it on my
own terms. Like I like sitting in my Like I
can create an office setting in my backyard. I can
go into my office, I can go to you off

(29:52):
site place. I like being able to stimulate my mind differently,
and it's not really based in football anymore.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
Should get you on some like hgh that Lan, why
gives your eye?

Speaker 3 (30:03):
I think he missed the Yeah, I think he's missed
the point.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
I want to listen.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
He's really obsessed with you during steroids.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
Yeah, I mean maybe we should try just to give
it a go. Like I've lost a lot of weight,
you know, I think we should do it. I think
we should do it as a group. Yeah, I think
so it's good and like let's let's like log our
you know, our our gains. I'm going back into the
gym today. I finally am walking normal. I'm paying free.

(30:31):
Thanks to everybody out there that supported me and send
it well, you know, sent well wishes to me. I
appreciate the support of you guys when I was in Columbus.
I'm finally back. It's been three this is week four.
I missed three weeks of being in the gym.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
You know what just triggered my memory? Though? What Penn
States close win this week? Yes? And how did it come?
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (30:52):
We just doubt up a shot to Caandre Lambert Smith.
That's like, that's there for you every game, every game.
Throw the ball down the field, and I mean yeah,
thrown it. That ball went up like Will Levis's ball
like that. That's what I'm saying. He's got that ability.
You have receivers who can do it. Throw go routes. Yeah, man,
throw down the field. If your Penn State. My gosh,

(31:13):
it's so frustrating man, it is.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
I'm sorry. I know that's a tangent. I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
I'm glad they did it though. Yeah, I'm glad they
cause you see these.

Speaker 6 (31:23):
Cats that they have, like they have ridiculous ability, and
then you see coaches who don't unleash it, and it's
it's like wasted potential, man, and it's so frustrating.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
Yeah, they they're inching their way towards it, and I
hope we're full blown by the time.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
That's not on James Franklin.

Speaker 6 (31:37):
That's not as oc I mean, ultimately, you know, James
Franklin has to deal with that.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Yeah, I mean, they could have been a little bit
more impressive. But give give Indiana credit.

Speaker 6 (31:46):
They those kids play so hard for their coach.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
They played theirs off.

Speaker 6 (31:53):
I mean, it doesn't matter if you don't have to
look at the record. Those young men play so hard
they do.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
You got to beat them. They're not wanting that. They're
not one of them teams that laid down and like
they you gotta beat them. Boys. That was a good
That was a good test. It's a good test hitting
into Maryland. Maryland lost Northwestern. So now that's going to
be a throttle, like we're gonna have to see what
what what jumps off and that and then you know,
then I'm gonna be like y'all coming, y'all comeing to
State college with me. Y'all gonna come in. If you

(32:20):
get going there that we get on the gas, we're
gonna we're gonna start.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
How he just gets on the gas and it's a toilet.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
We're gonna walk. We're gonna walk. We're gonna walk to
State College and get there by the time its Michigan week.
M hmm. I mean, let Jim Harbor is there only
on the gas though, Yeah, clearly on that. What now
you want to get all quiet? Now now that that
we're we're talking gas, how are you getting the list?

(32:48):
I'm just getting a little nervous or just trying to
get the break, that's all. Yeah, late, Well you're the
one that threw out there. Let's let's take some gas.
Only on the gas you've been gassing. Yeah, and hot
gas and potty hot.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
That's you.

Speaker 4 (33:02):
Don't don't think I didn't see what happened outside the
studio door a few minutes ago either.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
Wow, crop dusted outside. I was, I was. I was
very very thoughtful and considerate, and I removed myself from
the premises and went to a place, a common area
of where the crop dusting would not be considered or
perceived to be uh you know, mean or inconsiderate. Yeah, okay,
you're welcome, all right, I mean, I don't have to

(33:26):
do that.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
House Lee doing this morning.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
By the way, Lee looks like he's half dead. Bro,
I ain't gonna I'm sorry. Face looks a little puffy,
his eyes are watery.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
Did the Big Lee Balski himself a night last night?
It seems like it.

Speaker 8 (33:39):
I had a night Saturday night and I was definitely
recovering yesterday watching football, and then uh yeah, I was
kicked out of bed for snoring too loud last night.
So I just ended up coming to the studio and
not sleeping.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
What do you call it when you saw what do
you call it?

Speaker 3 (33:54):
Well?

Speaker 2 (33:54):
Sleep apnear right now? But what do you call saw logs?

Speaker 3 (33:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (33:57):
He saw logs.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Totally.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
You imagine going to a doctor like I think I
have sleep apne. He's like, now you just saw on logs.
Don't worry about it. Yeah, it's all right, Lee. We're
all miss together, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and

five to seven pm Eastern. But here's the thing. We
never have enough time to get to everything we want
to get.

Speaker 10 (34:35):
To and that's why we have a brand new podcast
called over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun
in our two hour show. We never get to everything,
honestly because this guy's over promising things we never have
time for.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
Yeah, you blubber lame and me.

Speaker 9 (34:50):
Well, you know what, it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.

Speaker 10 (34:54):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, we're also going to talk
life and relationships, and if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 9 (35:08):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also Uncensored by
the way, so maybe we'll go at it even a
little harder. It's gonna be the best after show podcast
of all time.

Speaker 10 (35:18):
There you go, over Promising. Remember you could see it
on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen to over Promised
with Cavino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app Apple podcasts
or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 4 (35:30):
By the way, how real are the Seattle Seahawks now
they're in first place? How about that show talking about
the forty nine ers, LeVar wants everybody fired in San Francisco.
He said John Lynch should quit today, Rock Party should
be You know, some people.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
Take that stuff seriously too, like like LeVar really wants
them to be fired. Yeah, but you got to clarify now,
I don't I don't even care anymore, like they think
what they want to think. Yeah. Yeah, that's a big
win for them, though.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
I mean almost.

Speaker 6 (35:59):
Wasn't off the hot starting that game, and then they
just the Browns defense kind of came around.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
They started making some plays.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
They inched back in, they did us back in.

Speaker 4 (36:10):
I had a little inside the mind of a quarterback
question for Brady Quinn here, all right, and LeVar, you
have the complete opposite vantage point on this, So I'd
actually love to get both your opinions on this. So
when you're PJ Walker and you throw that ball and
it deflects off Jamal Adams's head and goes up into

(36:33):
the air, you know, what is that feeling like as
a quarterback.

Speaker 6 (36:37):
As a quarterback, you have already written off the play
as an interception, like and by the way, it feels like,
I don't know if it's like the amount of time
it takes you to wait in the DMV line right,
like could get it, issue your license, renew it or what?

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Time slows down though, dude, like.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
You're sitting in security at the airport.

Speaker 6 (36:57):
It feels like when you're in a line like that,
it's actually taking longer than it really does.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
That's what it feels like. Time slows down. The ball
is floating, You're like.

Speaker 6 (37:11):
And that's why, like a lot of times you'll see
quarterbacks catch those if there it's like in their vicinity
because that's their natural reactions.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
They're like, I want I want else to catch this.
I catch this, but really just bat it down.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
But because I'm watching that play and the ball goes
up in the air and there's only one ending.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
To that, and it's an interception unless unless they get
so greedy because it's such a yeah, it's such an
it's such an available ball, you know, like when it's
it's too available, it's just too many people going after
a bite of the apple. You know, Then that Greek
could end up letting the ball hit the ground.

Speaker 6 (37:49):
Man, here's the crazy thing about the ending of that game.
So the Seahawks are down three, that play ensues and
the lines three and a half and of course, you know,
drives them down.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
They get a touchdown there to go ahead.

Speaker 6 (38:04):
Not only not only win, but but cover as well,
which you know, good teams win, great teams cover. But
it was it was one of those games where I
think you got to give Seattle a ton of credit.

Speaker 3 (38:16):
They jumped out to an early lead.

Speaker 6 (38:17):
I thought it might get bad the way they played
early on, and then then the Browns defense stepped up.
They started, you know, finding their way back into it.
And I feel for PJ.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
Walker.

Speaker 6 (38:29):
Man, you could sell he was devastated at the end
of that game because he's I mean, he's doing all
he can. Man like to give them a shot. That's
a good football team. That's a playoff team right now.
If they can just stop turning the football over like
they they really are that good in Cleveland. If they
can just not turn the football over, that's what it
comes down to.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
It's it's it's.

Speaker 6 (38:50):
Tough to see it, but the reality is give credit
to the Seahawks at a tough place to play to
all that crowd noise the twelfth Man, but that was
that was a fun game to watch.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
It was. It was pretty nerve wracking towards the end,
depending which side you're on.

Speaker 4 (39:03):
A big one for the Seahawks man first place, Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Two lost team. I mean, they're they're doing well, doing well,
and and again, while I would have thought it would
have been a division that San fran would have ran
away with. Yeah, now, by the way, it doesn't seem
so much.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
Gino drops some dimes in that game.

Speaker 6 (39:23):
Like, he made a few plays in that one where
you're like, because everyone the whole question for him was
that could he replicate what he did last year and
so far man with what they've got with Jackson Smith
and Jigbu had a big tuddy in that game and
Metcalf and all that. I mean, there were some moments
where it felt like Gino kind of got out of rhythm,
but what he needed to man, he was dropping some dimes.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
They have the potential to have one of the more.
I mean, if they can keep them all together with
Lockett and Metcalf and and and Jigba, Like that's that's
pretty nice three too. Yeah, it's a pretty phenomenal three.

Speaker 6 (39:54):
That would say, that's three of the best in the league.
Like i'd put you go, put that up against Cincinnati,
you put that up against anyone else. That's three the.

Speaker 4 (40:02):
Best They've drafted so well the past two years. Like
if you just look at what Seattle's done and.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
Line finally to their hit on those guys up front.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
You know what actually tied that whole thing together with
their unis yesterday the fact that they painted the field
the old school helmet, that little two bar look the
Steve Largent look in Seattle.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
God, those were hot.

Speaker 4 (40:24):
You know, I might be starting to lean towards Seahawks
over Oilers.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
Yes, I'm already there.

Speaker 6 (40:30):
Bro, that's the cleanest, coolest. You can't look bad in
that uniform. God, you can't look bad in it.

Speaker 4 (40:37):
It was hot, man, it was hot. Now, I mean
for the Cleveland Browns, you know what I mean. I'm
just asking the question, if you know, if got to
be careful here.

Speaker 2 (40:52):
I assume that he's you got to assume he's a
difference in the game. Yeah, is he the difference maker
in that you got to assume what he I mean,
for two hundred and thirty million, which I hate to
do that. I'd let me apologize for that. But but
when you're paid as the franchise guy, you would assume
if you have your franchise guy in and again that close,

(41:14):
they're the difference. Yeah, I mean that was that has
to be an initial reaction and conclusion like, oh, Deshaun
Watson is playing, they win his game, right, Yeah, I
mean you'd hope, you'd hope.

Speaker 6 (41:26):
I just I mean, like, my thing is, I don't
even know what the timetable is anymore. You know, Like
you get like the Twitter doctors all trying to trying
to give their peace on all that. You got the
his representation, you know, David Mulugeta out there trying to
try to work his sources, you know, feed and chefter
stuff and all that. They're all trying to Like it's
like no one even knows what the timetable is anymore.

Speaker 3 (41:48):
Whatever the time table was.

Speaker 6 (41:49):
Initially, he was supposed to be back by now, and
now it's like, well, we don't even know. So that's
the tough part for the Browns, I think is you've
got you know, this team's fighting their tail off right now.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
The defense is playing outstanding.

Speaker 6 (42:03):
Miles Garrett continues to make a case for Defensive Player
of the Year. They're running the football, They've got pieces
making players on the outside, and you'd have to think, like,
if you can just get someone back there to not
turn the football over and make a few plays, they
could be a top of the AFC North, Like they
could be winning this thing.

Speaker 4 (42:21):
Like Pittsburgh's four and three, Cleveland's four and three. Those
feel like two different foreign threes. Yes, Pittsburgh feels like, Okay,
come on, Like why have they felt like that every time?

Speaker 2 (42:32):
Though? Like, is there going to be a year where
they're four and three and it's like, you know what,
they're trending in the right direction, or they're undefeated, they're
trending in there. Like they were being called frauds when
they were undefeated through like nine weeks. Nobody thought, nobody
believed in them. When does that change? It just seems

(42:53):
really they've got to work really, really really hard. Super
flimsy score is a struggle.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
Man, I don't know this. If you're talking about Pittsburgh.
This st to George Pickens.

Speaker 6 (43:04):
Man, if he gets targets a game, he's gonna score
like five touchdowns. He makes it look so smooth, dude,
like he hurdled the dude yesterday, And if you were
just watching, you're like you kind of didn't notice until
you went back and saw like the low end zone replay.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
And you're like, dang man, he's got he's just got
so much ability. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (43:25):
I mean, honestly, if I was calling plays, I swear
to God, I would target him twenty times a game.

Speaker 3 (43:31):
I would. I would. I would move him around and
do all kinds of different stuff.

Speaker 6 (43:34):
I would like it would get to the point where
like defenses would be like the like Baseball doing like
a like an infield shift, Like they would just shift
the defense over to try to like whatever side of
the field George Pickens is on
