Speaker 4 (01:32):
All right, Era, Yeah, you fired up. I'm sad, man,
what sad? We lost the legend of schools less Man?
Speaker 5 (01:42):
Oh yeah, Bobby, I Bobby.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
I love that guy. And I know, I listen. I
know nowadays probably in the minority when it comes to well,
you know, that wouldn't be accepted these days. And his
treatment of players and all that. That was old school
as old school could get. And I thought he was whole.
I thought it was great.
Speaker 5 (02:02):
He was effective too.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
Yeah, he was an Ohio guy. You know a lot
of people recognize him as you know in the Indiana
head basketball coach because of his success there as a coach,
But born in Ohio, born right outside of Maslin and
went to Ohio State, Like I grew up knowing Bobby
Knight for that, Like he was a part of the
(02:24):
teams with John Halchek and Jerry Lucas that they won
a national championship.
Speaker 5 (02:28):
They went to three.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
They actually lost in the finals twice. But that was
kind of the legend of of what I knew of
him growing up in Columbus, Ohio. And you know, it
was interesting watching his coaching career because as great of
a coach as he was, there was also a controversy
that came along with it. But you couldn't deny the
fact that he was passionate about the game. He was
(02:52):
passionate about the players he coached, and I just you know,
it's one of those legendary coaches that you lose and
you say, like they'll never.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
Be anyone like Bob might again never.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
And it was pretty awesome too to hear the stories
of coaching the Olympic teams with Michael Jordan and so many,
so many other greats that he was able to be
a part of the coach and he and even for
the guy who he I mean, he's quoted as saying
it he thought he was the greatest basketball player he'd
ever seen before he even touched a basketball in the NBA.
(03:25):
And when you hear him tell stories about how he'd
coached him and how he talked to him, how he
tried to motivate the greatest basketball player in history in
his opinion, it was just great. It's just fantastic to
listen back to and think about, not just it's beyond sports.
It's beyond like motivating a human who's done stuff that
no one else has ever seen before. So it's pretty
cool to look back on some of his quotes and comments.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
You guys, remember the great Purdue rant. I believe this
was somebody had miked up or there was a mic
going in the locker room and it got Lee. He
was just so fed up losing to Purdue and being
kind of a mediocre team at that time. So you
tell me, if this would be something that we could
hear nowadays from coaches and the way people take stuff
(04:11):
personally want to play that I'm getting the food out
of here. I mean, if you're not going to recover
great Graham.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Who's gonna let him drive by it?
Speaker 3 (04:18):
If the rest of you're gonna.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Let him patch the ball outside the three second way
and drive.
Speaker 6 (04:23):
All the way in here without one guy coulenging him,
then I'm leaving a guy.
Speaker 7 (04:28):
Don't run thing you canting?
Speaker 8 (04:29):
Thus I aired, I'm picking tired of an eight to
tad record.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
I'm thinking tired of loving to Purdue.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
I'm not here around this week?
Speaker 8 (04:41):
Do you make me?
Speaker 2 (04:42):
But I'm not. I'm gonna guarantee you.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
That if we don't play up there Monday night, you're.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Gonna believe the next day.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
I am not here to get my Apple.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Feed on Monday.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Are you better understand that right now.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
That the dams will look comp.
Speaker 7 (05:02):
The ground.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
You don't think last night I.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Had to sit around for.
Speaker 7 (05:13):
It.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
I mean, you will not put me in a competition.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Again, or you will can't pay for it, like you
can't believe.
Speaker 7 (05:22):
Your bucket your hell?
Speaker 5 (05:24):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 8 (05:28):
I bet you so many people will hear that. It'd
be mortified.
Speaker 5 (05:32):
God.
Speaker 8 (05:33):
Today's type of person. That's that's too much. Yeah, that's
too much. That's they call that bullying.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
I was gonna say, you ever you think we'll ever
hear that again, Let that all ever be something that
or it would even be made public.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
Because of the res it won't be made public. It
won't be made public. You know, people tend to forget too.
He coached coach k during his time at Army, and
you know he consulted with both Shim Beckler. I mean
it touched. He's touched all sorts of different sports.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
During his time. I mean, he's a legend.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
And that's the toughest part is I know you wanted
to get off to some little, cheery, happy start. It's
kind of hard, though, when you lose a guy like
that that everyone looks I mean, at least I looked
at always as one of the greatest coaches, not just basketball,
but like greatest coaches of all time, because he was
so unique in the manner in which he did it.
And I think he was like that. I mean, I
don't know how your guys grandfathers were, but you know,
(06:27):
my grandfather, my mom'sad was tough and he didn't show
you love very often. When he did, it was like
those moments that that you like really kind of cling
clung to. But he was always trying to teach you something,
at least from what I can remember, because he passed
away when I was young, but I remember being like
scared of him. But at the same time, like any
time he wanted to talk to me, I always went
over to him and I listened, and he tried to
(06:49):
teach me something and try to impart something. He kind
of reminded me of more of one of those figures
than anything else.
Speaker 8 (06:55):
You know, you mentioned him coaching coach k at Army.
That's that's what he That's what he came and that's
what I always looked at him as he was just
a representation of what that military military mindset represented. While
some may look at what he was doing or how
he was handling things look to be more like like
(07:17):
I said, like bullying or fear, fear factors and stuff
like that. When you start to think about the importance
of life and death, which that's what it was connected
to the military, your training, the things you did, your execution,
just understanding what was at stake was your life and
(07:40):
and when you when you're at army, that's that's that's
a that's a common threat that connects and bonds everybody together.
And that was how I was raised. I never served,
and I would never want to pretend to act like
I did, because I know how important and how serious
in nature, you know, serving represents. And so to me
(08:03):
just growing up now, my father he found God when
he came back from from.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
Vietnam.
Speaker 8 (08:11):
So it wasn't my dad wasn't the type in the
house that used profanity or anything like that. But my granddad,
like you said, and he was a church going man.
He was a deacon in the church too, but he
wasn't a deacon the other six days of the week.
As it applied to how you were supposed to do
(08:31):
things and how you were supposed to handle things. And
there's just a certain cadence and a certain way that
you go about encouraging and influencing the ones around you
that you love and you care about. And it may
have come across as not caring. It may have came
across as a little you know, crasp or just very aggressive,
(08:53):
but all in all, it was out of love. And
that was the one thing you always heard, you know,
from the players like the most. You know, the one
I listen to the most and you hear the most
about Historically, for me, was Isaiah Thomas talking about them
and how much they loved them as a coach, and
what what his his his approach to discipline and his
(09:15):
approach to creating a standard, like I don't want to run.
I don't want to run so much that it makes
playing the game seem like a picnic. I don't want
I don't want to have consequences to me not being
the person that I know, the standard that's been created
for us to be. I don't I don't want those consequences.
(09:38):
And then you start to apply those things in your
everyday living and in your everyday life, you get up
on time, you're afraid to not get up on time
on your own, There's no the only consequences are the
consequences you have to deal with in those moments. But
when you have somebody in your life, a figure in
your life, a role model in your life, like a
Bobby Knight, why how many may think his techniques and
(10:02):
his approach may have been maybe I don't know, too
aggressive or whatever it is. You may have wanted to
think out of pocket. But I just know when you
have coaches that care as much as Bobby Knight did
and went after it, and approached it the way that
he did it was it was to me, it was
more of a work of art to admire versus to
(10:26):
be mortified and to be scared of. Because it takes
somebody that believes enough in what you do, the talents
that you have, to approach you in a way where
they can force you to go to depths and places
in your emotions and in your mind where you never
would have made it if you didn't have somebody who
(10:48):
didn't push you to that place. So shots out to him, man.
He influenced a lot of coaches, a lot of different
styles that that you know, maybe maybe a dying art,
but he soughts out to him and respect to him,
thoughts and prayers to his family.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
And you can question a lot of things about Okay, well,
his approach, the things he said, the way he talked
to people, you can't question the results. Man, his impact
on the sport. You know, you mentioned the story about
Michael Jordan recognizing that early the Olympics, Isaiah Thomas, all
those players coach k Aaron Torres, who covers college basketball,
also has a show here on Fox Sports Radio. He
(11:24):
had a little nugget that he sent out on Twitter
yesterday that Jim Calhoun, the former Yukon coach. He was
actually he was offered the Northwestern and the Yukon job
the same offseason. He was leaning Northwestern and Bobby Knight
convinced him to go to Yukon and the rest is history.
Completely turned around that program. They won all those national titles.
(11:45):
So just his influence even to this day and you
see the outpouring of modern day coaches and it's just
an extension of all the messaging and just his approach
throughout the course of his career.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
He was awesome.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
I only have one question. I only have one question, Well,
how is he going to be buried? Because I think
based on some things he said, I think we know
how he wants.
Speaker 5 (12:11):
To be buried.
Speaker 7 (12:11):
Right on Earth is gone and my activities here are cashed.
Speaker 5 (12:19):
I want they bury me upside.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Down and my critics can kiss my.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Well there you go, man.
Speaker 8 (12:30):
That might be the dopest ass ever in kiss coaches ass.
Speaker 5 (12:34):
Yeah. I love it, man, I love it. Oh man. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:39):
I mean you know what I was thinking about too,
And when we talk about coaching styles in the manners
which they do, is is that always felt like if
you were going to criticize anyone. It was never going
to be a player of a Bob Knight coach team.
And in part because he always made himself the target.
And I think there's like a brilliant that too. Now,
(13:02):
maybe some people will say it's egotistical because the guys
can do it in different ways, Like you don't have
to do it the way he did it, where everything
seems like that, you know, much more strict and tough demeanor.
You could do it in a way that just constantly
brings attention to yourself. But the reality was is like
as a player, I'm sure all those guys, as much
(13:22):
as they were coached hard, they were still they knew
they were loved and that he was going to step
up to the play for them every single time. And
that's there's something to that.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
You know, there is something to it.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Yeah, Well, listen to rest in peace to the great
Bobby Knight, and as LeVar mentioned, thoughts and prayers to
his family. Just an awesome career, amazing impact, and it's
fun to hear and listen back to some words that
you'll probably never hear from a modern day coach, or
at least never hear publicly from a modern day coach
in this day and age. So awesome stuff there. It
(13:55):

We've got another edition of In case you missed it,
We've got over unders an hour two. As we look
ahead to Thursday night. Football Week nine is upon us
(14:16):
in the NFL, and we're going to close up shop
with another edition of You In or You Out. It's
all yours until nine am Eastern times, six o'clock Pacific.
But we do have some strong messaging, all right, maybe
maybe a new era of football for one organization in
the NFL, and you'll hear why that's next.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here coming
up a little over twenty minutes from now from the
tire rack dot Com studios. There are rumblings rumors of
a potential blockbuster trade in the NFL. We will give
you the details on that again a little over twenty
minutes from now here on FSR. But we talked yesterday
(15:14):
about the news of Josh McDaniels as firing from the
Las Vegas Raiders, and obviously Dave Ziegler, the general manager,
is out as well too, which means step right up,
Antonio Peers, you've got the job. You're going to be
the man in charge of steering this organization back to
(15:35):
their winning ways for at least the remainder of this season.
And so Antonio Peers met with the media yesterday, talked
about growing up a Raider fan and also answered a
question about what the plan is at quarterback moving forward.
Speaker 6 (15:48):
They had opportunities to leave and go to other organizations.
I decided not to. The short story a matter of
fact is I grew up in Compton California. I was
born a Raider. I was born with the Raiders rolling
in the coliseum in LA I was running with NW
a talker straight out of Compton Rock and Raider hats.
So whenn opportunity came to work with Josh and Pat
Graham and Dave, I jumped on it. So that's what
(16:10):
set me up for this. I was born this way.
This is about the players, this is about the Raiders,
and this is about this organization, and we're.
Speaker 5 (16:15):
Tired of losing.
Speaker 6 (16:16):
It's not a good feeling. We're a production based business.
We're about competition, being competitive and play with an edge
and a swag and a certain confidence that we walk
out that damn tunnel that everybody watching TV can see it.
I'm telling me that the quarterbacks running forward, eight going forward,
we just feel like this is the best chance.
Speaker 9 (16:38):
What was the reaction like in the locker room when
you made that announcement?
Speaker 6 (16:42):
Very supportive?
Speaker 1 (16:43):
All right, So there we go. That's your brand new
head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. Pasy Yeah, I mean,
you know, I mean, Jeff Saturday, it went well the
first game too.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
Do you feel like that's at great comp I mean,
you know, just I.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
Mean, Jeff Saturday wasn't even coaching on the team, like
at least Antonio Pierce knows this team has been there,
Like you can't compare the two, like it'd be like
you trigger next to so I mean, that's just it
was such an I mean, I know he was close
with Jim irsaying. Obviously he followed the organization and he
was an amazing player in the organization. But it's just
(17:24):
like to call someone and who hasn't been a part.
Speaker 5 (17:26):
Of it all year. It's just it seemed a bit odd.
Speaker 8 (17:30):
Far fetched, outlandish, and I hope they could have worked,
just because Jeff Saturday is a former player and you
just hoped that for him.
Speaker 5 (17:41):
I was rooting for him for it to work. I
really was. You're all rooting for him to work.
Speaker 8 (17:46):
But like you also have to be real with yourself, realistic,
really real, logical. Yeah, I mean that there, and and
just I don't I don't think it's a great comp
to put ap in that that type of type of
realm just because he's he has proven himself. He's been
he's been great as a player, but he's also gone
(18:07):
through the process and the development. I mean, if you
listen to him in his SoundBite, he sounds like a
coach and he and I told y'all yesterday before we
even had any sound from him, he's going to sound
like how Campbell sounds out of Detroit. He's got a
lot of fight fight in him. He leads with his heart,
(18:29):
but he's also very cerebral. He's very organized. He understands
how to organize the team, structure, practices, structure, meeting, structure,
a lot of the things that you know go into
being a successful coach. And you know, I don't know
how this turns out. I know they have some I
(18:52):
know they have some players on this team. Can they
can they be motivated and inspired enough to be something
different than what they've already shown thus far. I think
it's possible. However, I do think that it is going
to be a tough challenge for them to just turn
this around and start being, you know, this winning team.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
I don't have any questions about the defense, Like as
far as look, there are better defenses in the league,
but they play their ass off. They play their ass off.
The other night you saw that I'm offensively and you know,
Mick Lombardi was the OC. He got clipped Boa Hardegree
is going to be taking over. He was the quarterbacks coach,
and obviously you heard they mentioned that Aidan O'Connell's going
(19:37):
to be the starter moving forward. That's the part that's
intriguing to me because Garoppolo and I love Jimmy Garoppolo,
he doesn't look healthy like he looks like a shell
of himself at his peak. And offensively, they got nothing
going and that's the part of this that I'm really
curious to see how they look moving forward, because there's
also pieces there on offense, and if they could get
(19:59):
any from their offense, even just the other night, that
could be a completely different ballgame.
Speaker 5 (20:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
I mean, here's the tough thing is you know, does
does aid and O'Connell right now, in this moment give
you the best chance to win?
Speaker 5 (20:11):
You know, you're.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
Probably saying yes to that question because of the turnovers
by Garoppolo and his level of play, But if we're
basically like, if we're trying to really determine this based
on experience, people know that the guy who's been to
a super Bowl before probably should give you the best
chance to win, but he's not playing at that level
right now. And so we'd like to see what we
(20:33):
have this young guy we drafted this year who we
felt like did a decent job when he came in
the first time. So you know, you can't sell that
to the media and people, so you don't say that.
But that's where they're at. You know, No Conna gets
a shot and they'll see where things go. And the
reality is, if you know, things go bad enough for
this team this year, they'll find themselves with a chance
(20:56):
to take a guy who could change the fortunes of
their friends for years to come, either in Kayleb Williams
or Drake may or whoever else they would see, you know, fit.
So it's look, I think he'll do a good job.
I think all the things Antonio Pierce said will happen.
Speaker 5 (21:13):
I really do.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
It just comes down to, you know, can they survive
through a change, and if the wins don't come, you know,
but but they're competitive the right and and those sort
of things there. It's just it's tough. It's tough to
make it through an NFL season where you've got so
much adversity and then your head coach you know, gets
fired and the general manager gets fired. Like guys just
(21:36):
kind of start, you know, thinking about what comes next year,
because that's where the organization is thinking about too. In
some ways, it's it's really hard to get everyone to
buy into the moment, and that's the tough part, I
think for all involved.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
I hope that Mark Davis looks at this differently than
maybe he looked at the Rich Vasaccia interim role, because
I'll bet if he goes back in time, he probably says, man,
I wish I would have listened to the people in
the building that said Rich Bisaccia is the guy, like
we don't need anybody else. That's the guy. And I
really I wonder if that's going to help Antonio Pierce's
(22:10):
cause here because what would he need to do And
and you know, we could point to record wise or whatever,
but what would you need to see to legitimately give
Antonio Piers an opportunity at this job full time moving forward?
Speaker 5 (22:23):
But I think it does come down to record get
a win games.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Yeah, just just win baby, right, Like that's what his
dad said, Like that's that's what it comes down to.
Speaker 8 (22:32):
But if I think the number is four to five,
I think go five hundred or above five hundred there's
four to five winnable games out of the eight games
that they have left. In my estimation assumption nine games left,
nine games, they need to win four four to five.
(22:54):
I think they need to win four to five. I
mean they had the Giants coming up. I think that's
a winnable game, Jets, winnable game. Dolphins. I would say
that would be probably a loss. Chiefs. They play the
Chiefs tough, so that's a hard one to say. They
have the Chiefs twice, so maybe maybe they split. Maybe
(23:19):
they split with the Chiefs. I don't know. Minnesota there,
I don't think they're going to be as good a
team without Kirk Cousins, so that's a winnable game. Chargers
have shown to be a winnable game. But that is
a battle of neighbors, so they'll play each other tough.
But that's still to me seemingly a winning game. Then
they have the Chiefs again. Then they have the Colts.
(23:41):
The Colts is a winnable game, and the Broncos. Broncos
is a winnable game.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
So five and four is not out of the realm
of possibility.
Speaker 5 (23:50):
It's not.
Speaker 8 (23:51):
And I think if he can get to five wins,
he solidifies having a real legitimate conversation resume wise coming
out of this season under the circumstances that they were
under to really really retain this job. If it's less
than five wins, I think it really comes down to
(24:11):
how the structuring of what he's doing, does he look
like a head coach that can turn this around. I
think there will be a lot of off the field
variables that are weighed upon more than just the wins,
and they'll look at the personnel and all those things
(24:34):
they're going to do anyway. But I think with losses,
more losses, I think that there's going to be scrutiny
that has different weight other than just the wins and
the losses of what takes place because they could really
rally and be a competitive team that just can't seem
to get a win. So I don't know, I don't
(24:54):
know if there's a good thing in winning.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
A good I think the other thing is you got
to avoid off the field stuff Like it is Las Vegas.
You do have a lot of players that we've seen
some stuff before with some players, like you got to
make sure that you showcase the fact that like you'll
be able to keep the team under reps.
Speaker 5 (25:15):
That's not always easy to do.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
But I think I think that's another thing because like
you can come with the wins, but there's like stuff
off the field that's happening, Like that's always gonna be
tough to overcome too, right, I think it's kind of
an all encompassing thing. But I just whenever I think
Las Vegas, I'm like, and if the boys feel like
the season's kind of gone to the wayside, yeah, I
mean all of a sudden, those craps tables and real
(25:37):
let tables start calling.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
And they keep you calling until you got to go
to practice.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
I was gonna say, if we're missed, if Aid and
o'connells has started moving forward, do you think Jimmy Garoppolo's like,
screw it and he just starts doing work in Vegas.
Speaker 8 (25:52):
I mean he's got a free lifetime past to that
one ranch.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
Yeah, Oh I forgot about that.
Speaker 5 (26:00):
So at some point we have some time, you know,
to you know kill.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Yeah, it's like finding that gift card you got last Christmas, Like, oh,
I forgot about this. Let's go to dinner, Like why not?
Speaker 5 (26:10):
You know he's this yeah, brush off right, brush that off.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Yeah, I believe though. Yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 5 (26:19):
Mean you know they found himself.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
I mean even if he's not, he'll keep a secret.
Speaker 8 (26:28):
Uh until they until they need to snitch. Yeah, you know,
pass out, have a stroke, almost die, whatever, it could
be something like really extreme, but they will snitch once
once something bad happens.
Speaker 5 (26:43):
You know, gotta be careful.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Hold on, we have a Let's Go Live tour. I
have an update on Jimmy Garoppolo's dating life. Insider lead
to lave for the latest leap.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
Yeah, stand by for photos. But Alexandra King is.
Speaker 9 (26:53):
Supposedly no kidding, is supposedly his girlfriend as of as
of a start of October. So let's things have changed.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
He Halloween? I mean, come on, the Halloween parties could
get a LITTLEI so Alexandra.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
King, he's an Alexander, Alexandra Alexandra.
Speaker 8 (27:10):
I had to make sure I heard him right too. Yeah,
no judgment, Yeah, I mean not these days.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Let me go ahead and see this a model who
guessed it. Let's go ahead and take a look. Yeah
I don't work prim.
Speaker 5 (27:29):
Oh those fingers are moving. Those were not my fingers. No, no, no, no, no,
you're more of a ninja on the.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
Keys, Yeah, a little bit quieter.
Speaker 5 (27:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (27:39):
Uh Jimmy Garoppolo is he's from my my family tree.
Speaker 5 (27:45):
Italian?
Speaker 8 (27:46):
Yeah, he's from my family tree. Well, I'm just looking
at what he's got going on. He's he's related. You know,
we got the same type of vision.
Speaker 5 (27:57):
You know.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
So yeah, yeah, I hear you.
Speaker 5 (28:01):
Yeah, yeah, kind.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Of sort of right youu?
Speaker 7 (28:04):
Lee?
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Are you all right with that?
Speaker 5 (28:06):
Lee's not okay with Okay, I'm gonna say it's all
fine with me. Yeah, oh, all of it?
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Okay, Okay, Well listen, you know, eventually you gotta graduate
at some point, you know what I mean. Do you
hear that?
Speaker 5 (28:18):
Though?
Speaker 1 (28:18):
You hear some like like pounding. Oh, it must be
the Breeder's Cup right around the corner. It must be
those thoroughbreds racing around the track. Because we're in the
final stretch to get tickets to horse racing's biggest moment

it down over there.
Speaker 8 (28:55):
We'll be in that one stall horse with some supposed
to run. You guys should get a horse on.
Speaker 5 (29:03):
Come on. That might be the only persons of it.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
That hour is doing the show.
Speaker 5 (29:08):
Oh I know that.
Speaker 8 (29:09):
What is that supposed to mean? Jonas? What is that
supposed to mean?
Speaker 1 (29:14):
What I mean?
Speaker 5 (29:16):
You know? The sad thing is I don't know what
you're talking.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
You want to know why I can't make it because
it's so gosh darn hard.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
To get to Stay College. Oh yeah it is.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
Yeah, well so where do you because there's an airport
in State.
Speaker 8 (29:28):
College going and to State. Yeah, you're going into State
College tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (29:33):
Uh no, no, no, no, this wasn't this week. I'm thinking
that was next week. That's tomorrow. It's right, it is.
We're going to Austin. We're going to Austin. Wish I
have to go today.
Speaker 8 (29:41):
But then you're going to Stay College right from Austin.
So yeah, I get what you're saying. Just say you
just go with it. Yep, Yeah, just go with it,
go with it.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
I mean, you just fly into state college. What's the problem.
Speaker 5 (29:52):
It's it's hard to get into state college. Yeah, it
takes at least two flights.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Yeah, you know, but PJ you can loan them, LeVar.
Speaker 5 (30:00):
I do, but you know, I don't use it very often.
I don't. I don't, you know. You know. The tough
thing is is, uh, I don't have no PJ. But
there's not there's not many like like you.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
If you make a decision to go to stay College
late for a big game, there's no restaurant, you know,
reservations available.
Speaker 8 (30:20):
And state college right, Yeah, so that's always the fun part.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Like logistically when they're booking out stuff and all those things,
it's like, well, but probably should have made a dinner
reservation like six months ago.
Speaker 8 (30:30):
If you don't have a dinner, uh, you know available,
to go to the corner room and tell them I
sent you. They'll find they'll find some space for you
the corner room, Yeah, the corner room. Or or you
go and you order DP dough from your room, and
(30:52):
you cannot go wrong with DP dough DP dough d
P alone dough.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
Looking at the corner room here, my place is great. Yeah,
corner room is that's a good looking sandwich there, good salad.
That's the spot established nineteen twenty six. The corner room.
There you go, the Penn State tradition. That's hot.
Speaker 5 (31:16):
Man.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
Between that and a graduate hotel, Come on, man, stay college,
going on lockdown?
Speaker 5 (31:23):
All right?
Speaker 1 (31:23):

Speaker 9 (34:01):
That's right, baby, guys.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
In case you missed it.
Speaker 9 (34:05):
We've talked a lot about Bill Belichick this season, him
getting the contract extension, whether or not on the A
Brady contract extension for Bill Belichick during the offseason, whether
or not he's on the hot seat. Well, this from
our favorite guy, Mike Florio, saying that he's heard theories
out there that when the season ends, Josh Harris, the
new owner of the Commanders, is going to call the
Patriots to inquire about what it would take to get
(34:28):
Bill Belichick.
Speaker 8 (34:29):
Oh, please, don't be that guy.
Speaker 5 (34:34):
Don't be that guy.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
Come on, var They haven't done that in Washington before,
where they go out and get a bunch of big names.
Speaker 5 (34:44):
Not at all.
Speaker 4 (34:45):
First off, can you go back over with the exact
transcript transcript is this reports?
Speaker 9 (34:53):
I'll give you a little more context here. I'm hearing chatter.
Quote here, I'm hearing chatter to this effect, not that
I'm reporting, but when you're plugged into the NFL great vine,
come back and say it again. Go back, and here's
the quote. I'm hearing chattered to this effect. Not that
it's reporting, but when you're plugged into the NFL grapevine
and you hear something like this, it's too good to
keep to yourself.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
Yes, so someone had a few beers and propose this
idea or theory, and now they're running with it.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
If Florio have some balls and just go all the
way with it, stop dipping your tone in the water.
Speaker 4 (35:22):
Didn't he kill off a guy and then have to
apologize for it before or something? Well, no, I'm saying, like,
didn't they report like a death that wasn't true?
Speaker 5 (35:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Probably, but it happens.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
You know. The funny thing is I know it's happened
because Jonas has pointed it out for years, and somehow
at this moment he's not recalling.
Speaker 5 (35:39):
I don't this was this was literally an ally for Jonas.
I don't remember somehow.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Honestly, God, I don't remember Floria reporting a death that
wasn't true.
Speaker 4 (35:47):
Jeez, wet football talk door. This is now I have
to look this up, spend time doing this instead of
doing our Well.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
You type faster than me. Sorry, it's a it's a
blessing you have. Sometimes it's a curse. Let's see who
they report died that actually didn't die. That's why you
go to TMZ for that stuff. They're usually pretty accurate.
Speaker 5 (36:07):
When it comes to those stories.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
What have we got who they say died?
Speaker 4 (36:12):
I'm reading through it now. That's the problem is this
is what you do. You used to talk about this
on Sunday nights for years. I trained Okay, I'll get
to the points Jonas can't follow up today. Here's the
reality is, could it be talked about should should actually
should they call and see what that number would be?
Of course, like I've always said, from a front office perspective,
you have to make everyone tell you no, like if
(36:36):
you are And obviously they're not going to do it
right now this year because Ron rivera' is their head coach.
But if you're looking for a head coach, why wouldn't
you If you feel like Robert Kraft is no longer
in good standing with with where Bill Belichick, what he's done,
why wouldn't you call and say he's under contract?
Speaker 5 (36:53):
What would it take to get a trade done? I mean,
that's the reality of it.
Speaker 4 (36:57):
It's no different than John Lynshoo called the Patriots I
don't know how many years in a row and said, hey,
we're a cost to get Tom Brady not not not
going to trade him? Okay, Like make them tell you no,
or say hey, if it did ever happen, what would
that number look like? So at least you know the market, like,
at least you know what that potential could be worth.
It might never come in hand for Tom Brady like
(37:20):
it never did, but it might for another player if
you look at him as a franchise player. But like, hey,
one time, actually this team said, is what Tom Brady's
value was? Maybe that's what Patrick Mahomes will be here,
you know what I'm saying. Like you just you have
to to take every opportunity to get as much information
as you can and call around and see if it's
even impossible. So as far as a theory, sure, but
(37:41):
that's what every good owner or general manager or whoever
is in charge of that process should be doing.
Speaker 5 (37:47):
I'm out on that one.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
Bring back memories, I don't bring home man. Yeah, what
else you got?
Speaker 5 (37:56):
Lee?
Speaker 9 (37:56):
Speaking of more fake stories from Pro Football Talk, Eric Salenberg,
who's a frequent commenter on PFT, shared a screenshot from
the Athletic Premium Plus, which is not a thing, but
it duped a lot of people, it said. Apparently the
last draw was when Josh McDaniels, who was well known
around the league's circles as a guy who goes all
out for Halloween, came to the Raiders facility dresses Mark
(38:17):
Davis the day after losing to the.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
Lions on Monday Night Football.
Speaker 9 (38:20):
This then resulted in Mark Davis taking in stride, ordering
PF Chang's and telling him to check the fortune Cookie,
which then said, you're fired.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
A lot of people pop story. They did.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
Oh good God bless them.
Speaker 5 (38:33):
You know.
Speaker 4 (38:35):
By the way, I found this stuff true. You can
look at the text chain. By the way, jonas all true.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
I don't remember that. I really don't remember us talking
about that.
Speaker 4 (38:46):
It's unbelievable you would bring this up literally once a year.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
I think you're confusing reports the Brian Williams stuff for sure,
but I don't I don't remember this one at all.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
It was Terry Bradshaw back in January of two thousand
and seven.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
He dy bratch out. I don't remember that one. I'll
try and remember.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
