(01:11):
So we've got week nine in the NFL kicking off
later on tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Flies.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Man, Yeah, but we got.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
We were just starting a season like yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Yep, and here we are, here we go already November.
We got a problem though in the studio though.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Got an issue problem a bat.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Uh, No, we've got I mean I didn't know that.
I guess candy does things to your stomach, and so
Iowa Sam is suffering through being fumigated by lead to
laugh in the other studio, and it's bad.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
There's a lack of fresh oxygen in here.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
What you do is you get yourself a paper towel,
put some of the hand sanitizer on it, or just
get you one of those wipes, those Clorox wipes. Just
hold it, you know, hold it close to your face. Man,
I wrap it. Vapors of that, yeah, man.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Like chloroform or chlorophyll, whatever it is.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
I wouldn't recommend the chloropym.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
But I prefer to be passed out and smell this somere.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
So what did you what was on the menu yesterday?

Speaker 5 (02:23):
I had a Philly cheese steak yesterday, very delicious. My
my go to Philly cheese thak.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Throw that in the boiling cattle. That's let's go. What else?
And that was a stew I think that was it.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
And then I just I got into the studio this
morning and everyone left their leftover candy in the kitchen,
so I've been helping myself. There's nutricious breakfast, milky Way,
a lot of milky ways.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
And that messes up your stomach.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
I mean, I feel.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
Fine, but it definitely does have a uh an odor
to it.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Has a brand, and Sam can attest to that. So yeah,
so he's fighting through the pain here.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
I told him I was going to go use the
restam and he cut in front of me to go
get coffee and I had to stay at the studio.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Door is open and it's a wide door. Yeah, but
nobody was here, so I helpe myself.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yeah. So there's so that's what Sam's working with. So
if he's a little slow on the draw at any
point throughout the course of the show, it's because he's
trying not to pass away because of Lee's Philly cheese
steak sandwich and three Musketeers to start off his morning
on a on a Thursday here now. Later on tonight,
we do have a matchup in the AFC. We talked

(03:32):
about it a little bit of over unders, but we've
got the Titans at the Steelers, and we've got the
Pittsburgh Steelers currently a three point favorite courtesy of our
friends at DraftKings. Now, Kenny Pickett's been banged up, all right,
the Steelers offense hadn't been all that hot. You've got
George Pickens, who appears to be the best player on

(03:54):
offense for them, and I think of what he'd had
one catch last game or something like that, but he
had the touchdown catch from Mitch Trubisky. But the story
of this is going to be Will Levis who is
getting the start. Ryan Tannehill is out and so Will
Levis is going to get the start on a short week.
I think it's going to be a little bit more difficult,
I would imagine than playing the Atlanta Falcons. But what's

(04:16):
the expectation for Will Levis on a short week at
Pittsburgh in prime time on Amazon Prime coming up later
on tonight. What do you guys expect if you had
to guess.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
I mean hopefully people aren't hoping he can replicate four
touchdowns again. That's it was phenomenal last week. Going back
and watching it, it was just as good as what
it seemed like in real time.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
But this is a different challenge.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
A short week to prepare in your second start and
going up against that defense, it's a big time challenge.
So I mean, look, I'm not betting against that necessarily happening,
because I do think his legs could come into play
in this game because it might have to with that
pass rush with guys like TJ.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Watt across from him.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
But man, that is ah, that's a big time challenge
and uh, look we'll see. I mean, the biggest thing
you gotta do is take care of the football there,
because that's a defense that's going to try to get
you a negative plays, put pressure on you to turn
it over, and that, to me is the fastest way
this thing could get out of hand or you give
Pittsburgh the game.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
So as long as he takes care of the football,
I think I think they'll be all right. They'll hang
in this thing. I don't see him doing four touchdowns,
but I don't see him slowing down with his success either.
I think that they they looked loose last week, and
even though it is a short week, I just I
think they're I think they're going to be aggressive. I

(05:43):
think will Levis is going to compete. I think we'll
see I think we'll see a good a good performance
from him. But I also think that it's interesting to see,
uh Kenny, you know, Pickett coming back to to play
with with the rib injury. I think he wants to
have a good showing too. You know, there these are

(06:05):
two guys that you know, we're in school at the
same time. You know, have a lot to prove still,
both of them, and this is one of those games,
Like I feel like that's the competitive juice is flowing
as to to him getting out there and competing. And
I think it's going to be a fun game to watch.
I do.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Cam Hayward has been activated off the injured reserve list,
so he will be in action for the Steelers later
on tonight as well too.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
That could make a difference if he's in good enough shape.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Yeah, so if there he's been out since week one.
He suffered the injury in week one and so now
he makes his return back on Thursday night. It is
kind of nice and it's kind of a breath of
fresh air to see, you know, a quarterback in the
AFC North clearly injured but still going out there and
making it happen and playing. It's kind of nice, kind
of nice to see that.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
All.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
What's trying to say?

Speaker 2 (06:56):
No, I'm just saying this guy, you know, Canny Pickett
showing some guts.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
Here.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Guy's been banged up a little bit this season, and
here he is.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
So what you're saying is a banged up rib Kenny
Pickett is going to give the Steelers a better chance
of winning than a fully healthy Mitch Trubisky.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Yeah, well, go ahead and say that.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
So what you're saying is is that his rib injury
he would not give him, you know, any type of
I guess reason to not be confident and tell the
media that he's going to sit out because Trubisky gives
the team a better chance of winning fully healthy than

(07:37):
what you know it does.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
I can't imagine that's taking place.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Yeah, I get what you're putting.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
And you know, if you're a Steeler.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Is he playing this week?

Speaker 2 (07:49):
By the way, DeShawn I honestly god him, I'm fatigued
with the whole story because it just feels like him
playing would be a surprise at this point, any game
would be a surprise. But I'm sure I've heard that
he's making progress, but.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
It's still yeah, oh, but it's still day to day.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Day by we're taking it day by day week by.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
He must be he got like old man's disease, man, Like,
aren't you supposed to heal up quickly? Don't you heal
up quicker when you're younger, Like like you get nagging
injuries when you get older? Man? That's like some you
put linen in on it, some being gay, you know stuff,
tiger bomb, you know like that? What is linenen?

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Look it up?

Speaker 3 (08:33):
That's old school day by day by day by day
by day. What movie is that from? I think that's
a movie quote.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
I forget it would be over there.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I'm looking up linen. I don't see it.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
You don't see it.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
No, I don't see it anymore, linen.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Yeah, intimates the coffee cake.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
No, yeah, you don't rub that on your muscles?

Speaker 4 (08:58):
Great, eat it all right?

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Yeah, so rubber sweet roll on your on your pack if.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
You liniment Unless there's a silent tea liniment? Is it
liniment linaments with the team with a T at the end?
It does have a tea at the end liniment.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
How about the fact that the Steelers, if they win
this game tonight, as they're favored to do so, are
going to be five and three, And I don't know.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
How Mike Tomlin, man, there he is. Everybody says that
day by day by day.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
It's from meet to parents. Brady, Sorry, I was saying
that in your year.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Oh my bad, he was saying.

Speaker 7 (09:36):
He was saying grace at the table and just kept
Ben Steeler kept mumbling on by day.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
By day by day by day.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
So Mike Tomlin, I mean, he's he's a magician. Man.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
He's one of the greatest head coaches in NFL history.
I don't think that people give him enough credit for it,
the way he's able to just I don't do more.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
And it's not like he's dealing with less.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
It's just when even despite the fact their offense isn't
even the top half of the league, not even close,
he still finds ways of winning. Man the way, and
I think that's also where like head coaching comes out,
is when you're able to win despite some of your
deficiencies because you're able to get teams to play your
style of game the way you manage the game and

(10:23):
manage your team. Like all that I think gets pushed
to the forefront, and it in one way, it's either
going to elevate that head coach or what's going to
expose them. And I think he's someone who elevates in
that situation considering they got great defense, but the offense
just has not really come along besides certain flashes.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Here and there. I wonder why that is. Why has
it taken so long for this offense to get better.
I mean, they just they haven't been healthy since oh,
a healthy younger Ben Roethlisberger on offense. I don't know.
I want Picket to be the I that that does this,

(11:02):
but man, it's like we just haven't been good on office.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
It's like if it's not any Pickett or anybody else, like.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
I mean, everybody continues to say it's Canada. Of course,
I know that's where you're hitting, and you guys can
elaborate on it. I mean, it's it's it's just been
it's been bad for a while. Man, you'd like to
see it change, because you know, offense in Pittsburgh is
a major part people. People love us for our defense,
our city. We love our defense. But we've always been really,

(11:37):
really tough and hard on our offense as well. We've
always demanded to have good offense. And I don't know
that we've ever really had like a crazy, crazy explosive offense.
I mean maybe the years with Antonio Brown the Heyday,
We've we've had a lot of receivers, but we we

(11:59):
have all He's wanted, good offense, like going back to
the Charles Johnson's and hell, going back to some cats
won't even recognize the name Louis Lips, you know, going
back to to the days of him and like John L.
Williams and you know Tim Worley and you know Warren

(12:21):
Williams and stuff like, like we always we always had
we always had a running back or two, and we've
always had receivers. And we're really and we take pride
in our offensive line. And so I don't know what's happened.
I don't I don't think we have any signature offensive

(12:42):
lineman right now, which we usually always do. We do
have a signature receiver and pickings and I like him.
I like him a lot. He makes it he does
make it look really easy. But I don't know why
the offense has been so shaky for for so long.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Like Pickens. Pickens feels like he could be so much
more if given an opportunity, like you'll watch me just
go Why why is he not more involved? Like last
week you could see he was visibly frustrated, like why
you know? And him, Him and Deontay Johnson's a pretty
good pairing, but it just feels like you watch him
on offense and the defense has to do so much

(13:20):
to keep them in games, like they've had no business
winning some of these games, like that game against Baltimore.
How the hell did they win that game? Like that
one throw from Kenny Pickett is all the offense needed
because the defense played so well. And then TJ. Watt.
Now MIKEA. Fitzpatrick's out for this game, but as we mentioned,
Cam Heyward is back, so that's obviously a loss for them.
But it's just this defense, and yeah, maybe it is,

(13:42):
Mike Tomlin. Just keep them, keep them alive. And it
looks like, you know, if it plays out as the
odds would say it is, they're gonna be five and
three here with all with all the issues and the
injuries that they've been dealing with, So we'll see how
it goes down to the berg. Later on tonight, Steelers
Titans eight to fifteen Eastern time, Amazon Prime Video. Will
Levis is going to going to take the field for

(14:03):
Tennessee and we get to see how that looks. Volume
two of that, because the first edition was fantastic for
the Tennessee Titans. It is Two Pros and a Cup
of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. It'savar Arrington, Brady Quinn,
Jonas Knocks with you. So coming up next, we're going
to find out exactly why a move was made in
the NFL that could change the future for one organization,

(14:26):
and we'll get into that for you next here on FSR.

Speaker 8 (14:29):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
We are going to have another edition of you any
of you out coming up here in about twenty minutes
from now. But right now we welcome in a man
who's number one in your hearts and in your ears,
and it just so happens to be from the number
one team and all the land. He's the pride of
the Ohio State buck Eyes. You can get him on

(15:05):
Twitter at Albert Breer, senior NFL reporter at the m
m QB and Albert, congratulations number one in the country.
How does it feel?

Speaker 9 (15:16):
Well, as you know, what matters isn't number one. I
mean what matters is ending number one? And uh you
know I I do. I did want to take the
opportunity here, you know, LeVar Brady. We had our fun
really in the earlier in the year and it's great,
you know those matchups earlier in the year against Tenness State,
Notre Dame. But I I just want to thank you

(15:36):
guys for the good clean competition, all right.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
I really really appreciate you got you got right? I respect.
What do you get that Alberts missing it?

Speaker 2 (15:47):
What do you get that, Albert? Come on?

Speaker 9 (15:50):
I like like, I like a good, clean, well played game,
you know everything on the level. I really really agree.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Ciated.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
I'll say to people out there who want to throw
stones at Michigan's be careful now.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Be careful. You may do them. Stones have landed upside
John's head the last couple of years.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
I'm just saying, be careful pointing the finger at others.
You know, you might be just doing it better than Albert.

Speaker 9 (16:19):
I didn't say anything about Michigan.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Yeah you did, Albert.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Albert, let me ask you this, if you had a
Heisman vote, would one of them go to Connor Stallions?

Speaker 9 (16:29):
You know, I mean we're talking about impact. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
I mean, it seems like it makes some sense, all right.
So as we move over to the NFL, there was
a coaching move made a big one the Raiders, moving
on from Josh McDaniels general manager Dave Ziegler. What have
you heard from people in and around the organization is
to the thinking about and why the move happened when

(16:54):
it did well.

Speaker 9 (16:56):
It was a you know, it was a confluence of events.
I mean, I think only the first sign of trouble
and not that like they didn't not that it was
you know, things were great earlier in the year. But
I think really the first time of trouble was the
was after the Packer game, you know, and that Mark
Davis is this long history of meeting with his coaches
after after games, and you know, there's got a lot

(17:19):
of attention during the John Gruden years. They beat the
Packers on a Monday night, and you know, my understanding
was that meeting got really volatile, It got hot, and
you know, people in the organization knew it. You know,
knew that Mark wasn't happy, and I think there was
this feeling like, oh man, like he felt that way

(17:42):
after a win, you know, And so that lingered, and
then you know, I think the next piece of this
was the decision to go with Brian Hoyer over over
eight Aid O'Connell after Jimmy got hurt in the Patriot
game against the Bears. And you know, I know that
there were coaches players in that organization that felt like

(18:02):
the right thing to do was to go with Aidan O'Connell. Now,
josh Is logic going into that was, well, we're playing
against a rookie quarterback and enticeon bagent and we if
we can just play a clean game, we'll come out
with the win. And you know, he was concerned with

(18:23):
how Aidan O'Connell had turned the ball over. I believe
he fumbled three times, and it was picked against the
Chargers earlier in the year, and so, but the whole
logic and Josh making the decision that he did was
if we can play a clean game, we'll get out
of there with a win. Well, then Brian Hoyer goes
in there and and and get and gets picked off twice,

(18:43):
and after the second pick gets both.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
From the game.

Speaker 9 (18:46):
So there was that, and then you know, after that,
they had the meeting I think a week ago to
day now where the idea was, hey, let's put it
all on the table and take some accountability for what happened. Well,
what they had hoped was, you know, what they had
hoped would be a meeting to speak about accountability, and

(19:06):
everybody kind of taking their share of the plane more
or less turned into airing at grievances. And while all
this was going on, Mark Davis is a meeting with
players and getting the temperature for the locker room. And so,
you know, I think, like what we saw on Monday night,
you know, obviously wasn't good with you know, DeVante Adams.
You know, they miss on two wide open shots to

(19:29):
the Devanta Adams. You see Davante, who's you know, universally
in that locker room seen as like a really good
guy Bia just being a great player, flambing his helmet
and frustration and then saying after the game he didn't
want to talk because he's afraid of what he might say.
I think we all saw that sort of as a
tipping point. I mean, to me, after digging into this
and calling around yesterday, it sounds more like that that

(19:53):
wasn't you know, a man of fact. That wasn't a
It wasn't like something that that was built to That
was more like kind of of like ave. It was
more like revealing what had been a problem to everybody
on the outside. And so you know, now we are
where we are, and you know, like I think it's
it's tough for Josh because I think, you know, if

(20:13):
you look at it, it does look like he stepped
in a lot of the same potholes that he stepped
in in Denver. But I think very clearly, you know,
you look at kind of the way they built and
you know, like the way they sort of doubled down
on the playoff team of twenty one by going getting
Chandler Jones and Devonte Adams loast off season, that doesn't work,

(20:35):
you know, and now it's like they're sort of in
this in between of having a core of players it's
ready to win now, but you know, maybe needing a
more extensive rebuild, and everything just sort of seemed like
it was sideways from the start this season, and again
that Packer game was really the first sign of real trouble.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
I guess I'm just curious because because all the rationale
you kind of provide, it makes sense, you know, in
regards to starting Hoyer and all that. What happens now
for Josh McDaniels. He's got four years left on his
deal after this year. I mean, is he did he
just go call plays?

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Like? Do you think he ever gets another shot at
all this?

Speaker 9 (21:14):
I don't, Brady, I you know, and I think the
world of Josh is a coach like and I know
you played for him in Denver, and you know, I
think he's a brilliant offensive coach. But I you know,
I just think it'd be a really tough sell for
an owner, you know, now, And if you look at it,
it's you know, he went to a second year in

(21:35):
both places and didn't make it through that second year,
you know, in Denver in Vegas and then he put
the Indianapolis thing on top of it, and I think
he's gonna be a tough sell now. I have heard
some people say, oh, well it was all Brady. Well
that's not true either. You know, like he did a
he did a phenomenal job as an offensive coordinator over
two cents in New England, and it wasn't just Brady.

(21:56):
He had a great year with Matt Castle in two
thousand and eight. You know, he got I think the
most possibly could have gotten out of Cam Newton, who's
clearly broken down physically. In twenty twenty. In twenty twenty one,
he got a great year out of mac Jones. Mac Jones'
best year by far in three years in the pros
is under Josh McDaniels. So you know, I still think
he's an excellent offensive because you're well respected throughout the league.

(22:19):
I think the best thing for him right now would
maybe be to go somewhere with this outside of the
New England family and and sort of I you know,
and he's older, so it's like hard to say learn
but you kind of see the way it's done in
a different place. I know it's done great things for
Matt Patricia to go to Philadelphia and see the way

(22:40):
Nick Sirianni has his program set up, Like, you know,
what Josh do for the rest of the year, to
be a consultant with the Rams. You know, Sean mcvay's
got great respect for Josh McDaniels. Maybe that would be
something to be a fit. I just think that that
would probably be the best step for Josh now is
to step out outside of the New England bubble and
go see the way he's done somewhere else.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
Abe, you said something pretty interesting, and I'm a I
guess I'll coup a couple it all together. You said
that they took the pulse and the temperature of you
said Mark Davis in particular, took the pulse in the
temperature of the locker room. They just fired their OC

(23:21):
and Mick Lombardi. As you reported, they don't hire a coordinator,
They instead hire a position coach. Is this a decision
based off of that temperature taking and that talking about
the frustration boiling over with DeVante Adams. You get rid

(23:44):
of the offense coordinator, you get rid of the head
head coach. Yeah, and you elevate a guy who is
known everybody knows that if you know Antonio Pierce, you know,
the players are going to be talking to him. You know,
they relate to him and have a great rapport with him.
Do you have any insight on what what led to

(24:05):
that decision?

Speaker 9 (24:07):
Well, I mean, I think the obvious thing ongoing with
a p and everybody who's been around him as a
sort of leader he is he was. I mean, he
was really kind of the MUFASA for like the for
the super Bowl champions, you know, super Bowl champion team
with the Giants in two thousand and seven, and so like,
I think that number one is you're going in a

(24:29):
totally different direction, right Like you're going from you know,
the offensive mastermind now to kind of the front of
the room leader, and that's what Antonio Peters is going
to bring. And you know, I think, you know, it
also allows you to keep a guy who has had
some success in building the defense. Their defense has been
pretty good on balance this year. Now they've had their blips,

(24:51):
but pack Graham's done a pretty good job on defense.
And you know, I think, you know, I think Nick Lombardi,
you know, kind of becomes the at the fall guy
to some degree. That goes down with Josh and this is,
you know, I think more or less a way of saying,
we are going to change what we do offensively to
try to get more out of you DeVante and to

(25:14):
try to you know, get more out of you Josh Jacobs,
and you know, kind of get a different spin on
the way that we're doing it now. It's risky, there's
no question about that. I mean, Bowhart degree has been
in the league for and I don't know were you
with him in Denver, Brady, you might have been, or
you might have I don't know. Yeah, no, no, no, no,

(25:36):
with Bo with Bowheart, agree, I don't think you yet.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Okay.

Speaker 9 (25:40):
So, so like a guy who's been in the league
for less than ten years, he has never been a coordinator,
who's never called a play, you know, like like that,
that's risky, you know, but at the very least, you
know you're going to have somebody there who I think
will listen to the players and take their input and
work collaboratively with them. And so so yeah, I mean,

(26:02):
I like again, like I do think what everybody's gonna
be watching going forward with a rookie quarterback and an
incredibly incredibly green offensive coordinator is what this means for again,
the guys like DeVante Adams and Josh Jacobs, and I
think that that's sort of that that's that's that's the
center of the thinking here between what Mark Davis Antonio

(26:25):
Pierce are trying to do on that side of the ball.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Get him on Twitter at Albert Breers, senior NFL reporter
at the MMQB, joining us here on Fox Sports Radio.
So who's the next coach to watch if there's a
potential move or a firing made this season?

Speaker 9 (26:39):
I mean, I think that the obvious one would be
Ron Rivera in Washington, you know, and I would say
they've been competitive all year. I mean they played the
Eagles to you know, a standstill on Sunday, and so
this is a I mean, I think a good Washington
team obviously not a great one, but like a good
Washington team. But now you know, you're taking away Montes

(27:03):
Sweat and Jade Chase Young and so like you're making
what was the strength of the team in that defensive
line a little less. So so what does that mean
for where they're going? And if they do lose four
or five games in a row, does Josh Harris decide
I want to start my search now, and I don't
want to have to do it behind the scenes or
be sneaking around anybody, So we're going to just fire

(27:26):
on now. Like I think that that's certainly within the
realm of possibility. I mean, I think Mon's got an
uphill an uphill climb ahead, and that's you know, with
the acknowledgement that he's done a good job so far
this year, So that would certainly be one as far
as mid season firings go. I mean, I guess Brandon
Staley might be the other one to watch if things

(27:47):
really go the wrong way with the Chargers, and then
I mean, those two would be the other two that
I think you would be really seriously looking at. Outside
of that, it's hard to see, you know, where I'm
just trying to think. I think that those would be
the two. I don't I don't know that there'd be
another team that being playing to fire there they're head

(28:10):
coach in mid season, at least the way it stands
right now.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Albert, can I ask this quickly?

Speaker 1 (28:14):
I know it's a little off subject, maybe out of
left field, but with Bob Knight passing, I feel like
everyone's got like something they remember most about Bob Knight.
I'm curious only because you know, you look, you went
to Ohio State, he went to Ohio Steam. I'm sure
there's some commonalities there.

Speaker 9 (28:29):
Yeah. So you know, Brady, I always think of like
the coaches that I had when I was a kid,
and you know, growing up in the eighties and the
nineties and now, like you'd have a coach who's really
tough on you, and you know, I'd remember my dad
would say to me, like, you're going to really appreciate
having played for that guy, you know, And I feel

(28:50):
like Pubby Knight was like the ultimate example of that.
Now it didn't work for everybody, of course, and I
want to be respectful of those people, but you know,
I feel like he was the ultimate like if you know,
if you if you stick it out and you listen
to him, there are great lessons there, you know. And
I do think like there are so many people that
went through that Indiana program that revered him and had

(29:10):
such appreciation for having played for him. And we're better
people because they played for him. And you know, I
know that that type of coaching probably doesn't exist anywhere anymore,
but we all grew up with it. Right, like I
think we all did. And so you know, I think
that that was That's sort of the way I look
at him. And yeah, I can remember I got msked
in a press conference by him when I was at

(29:31):
the student newspaper house.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
And what you ask you?

Speaker 9 (29:38):
I I can't remember exactly what he said, but it
was sort of along the lines of who the hell
are you? And I do remember too. The other thing
I remember being in Ohio State was you hear the
stories of the last Ohio State team. I believe Fred
Taylor was the coach that won a national championship in
nineteen sixty and that team had like Halichak and Lucas

(30:01):
on it, like it was like an unbelievable team, probably
the greatest, I mean the greatest team in the school
his school's history. And you hear the stories about Bobby
Knight on that team. And Bobby Knight was like the
sixth man, and the stories you'd hear about him and
on that team were perfect, you know, exactly him. It's
like he'd go in for like he'd go in for
like four or five minutes, muck the game up, get
three fouls, and they'd have to pull him because he'd

(30:22):
be in foul trouble. So so yeah, I mean an
American original And I know, I mean, I don't know
guys like I feel like it's maybe it's hard for
people who are younger than us to really understand that
style of coaching and that type of coaching. But you know,
I do know like a lot of people in my
own past that I was coached by that were really

(30:44):
really that you didn't like him when you're being coached
by them, right like, And I'm sure you guys have
those stories too, and and then you know, like years
later you come to appreciate having gone through it and
having gotten the lessons that they gave you. And I
think again, like I think the people who played for
Bobby Knight would tell you that he was like the
ultimate example of that good stuff.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Albert, you can get him on Twitter at Albert Briers,
Senior NFL reporter at the MMQB and yes see pride
and joy of the number one ranked Ohio State Buck. Guys.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
They're in a please? If they're out, all.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Right, lead the lap? What do we got?

Speaker 4 (33:48):
All right?

Speaker 3 (33:49):
Guys?

Speaker 5 (33:49):
Obviously we have the Titans at the Steelers tonight and
so io Sam has brought this to my attention. Are
you guys enter out on what he lovingly calls the
Quaker laws When it comes to buying liquor in the
state of Pennsylvania, where you have to go to state stores,
there's I guess there's six hundred stores.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
It's such a different direction that I thought it was
going when you initially started.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
What what are Quaker laws?

Speaker 4 (34:10):
So supposedly you could probably fill us in here.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
Limitation on alcohol sales, Yes, you can't sell on.

Speaker 7 (34:17):
A certain time times, time times the week you could
want you to work for it.

Speaker 5 (34:23):
You got to go to a specific store to get
your spirits with wines and beers and alcohols.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Why is that a big deal? You go once a
week get what you need for the week, and that's it.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
And how that's not how Sam Oper.

Speaker 7 (34:35):
And Iowa you go, come and go and buy a
bottle of Tito's at one five in the morning and
no one blinks an eye. My sister lives in Philly,
so she's been dealing with the Quaker laws for a
pretty much all.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
So what are the restrictions for her? Like when she
can when can she get booze?

Speaker 4 (34:50):
Well, you have to go to like distributors. You have
to go.

Speaker 7 (34:53):
You can't just go to the grocery store and buy
whatever you want. You have to go certain places. I
don't think they sell you on Sunday like it's it's
you gotta work for it. So this rhetorical question, you
guy should all be dagistan.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
You can't go to the grocery bar.

Speaker 4 (35:06):
Come on, get a bottle of belt out there.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
You can You can't go to the grocery stores. They're
they're not even and I want to say gas stations, right,
stuff like buy like a.

Speaker 4 (35:17):
Six pack at a deli. But you can't buy like
hard alcohalist.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
And if I'm the Pennsylvanian I want to walk in
and buy a six pack of rod Rock, you can
kiss my ass.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
I'll tell everything in moderation, all right, Like, I mean,
maybe it's not the best thing to be able to have.

Speaker 4 (35:30):
You buy it whenever you want, so you're in on
the Quaker lives.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
I don't know that, I'm I'll see, I'm just indifferent.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
I feel like, if this is really that pick of
a deal for you, you.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
Might probably should be getting some help.

Speaker 5 (35:41):
Yeah, yeah, Am I reading it right that you can't
get liquor in a bar?

Speaker 4 (35:44):
I mean, that's what I see it.

Speaker 7 (35:46):
No, what's the point of going Yeah, no, you can
buy like poured liquor in a bar.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
If you can't get liquor at a bar, it's not
a bar anymore. It becomes a restaurant. The point of
going to a bar is to get booze.

Speaker 7 (35:59):
A lot of restaurants in Philly have B y O
B policies, so it just makes it easier for him
because getting.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
A license is tougher there.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
I guess it's just weird, weird.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
I'm in because it's Pittsburgh.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
There it is.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
I'm out.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
I've been to Pittsburgh. I didn't know there were a
Quaker laws. If I wanted an iron city.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
Light, what else we got?

Speaker 2 (36:22):
We got anything else?

Speaker 5 (36:23):
Yeah, it's Day of the Dead de Deltos two day
holiday city.

Speaker 4 (36:28):
Remember Dead.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
That's such a good movie.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
It is guys that are out.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
We're celebrating those lives.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
Yeah, Lee, I don't have a choice.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
I was gonna say, well, the missus is out on Halloween,
right house.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
You guys have a lot of candle slit right now,
don't you get right? Is there a chance there's a
fire hatser right now?

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Like, I mean there's you know, I mean some cowboys,
thank you, Jerry. Yeah, I mean there's you know how
many rosary beads you got in existence? I mean eighty percent?

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Well that's not gonna let your house on fire at Mexico.

Speaker 5 (37:09):
But yeah, I mean Lee, Now she's so against Halloween?
Is she against deviled eggs? Because today is National Deviled
Eggs Day?

Speaker 3 (37:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (37:27):
Delicious all the way, Brady, You're out on double eggs.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
That's that's one of the only ways that will not
eat eggs.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
What's mustard mayonnaise?

Speaker 3 (37:39):
Yeah, mustard mustard a whole thing.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
When you do the deviled egg? Is it? Because I
haven't had one in a while. It's basically a hard
boiled egg. You take out the middle and you just
stir that and what like manonnaise, mustard, chop mayo mustard, patrikareka.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
You could put something ham on it. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (38:02):
Yeah, we also got top bar. Come on, yeah, here's
one for you, Brady. International Stout Day. Are you into
stout beer?

Speaker 3 (38:10):
Yeah? Sure, there you go. I mean that's essentially what
Guinness is, right, I don't. I don't want it because
of what what it gives me A rhymes with stout, and.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Only because Jonas can't take it. He couldn't drink it
in Ireland. It was disrespectful to all the Irish there.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
I had one.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
It was absolutely

Speaker 4 (38:29):
Stout and want and happy birthday, Jimmy g Yeah,
