Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is the best of two pros and a couple
Joe with Lamar Air, rading Win and Jonas Knox on radio.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
So congratulations. The Pittsburgh Steelers have done the impossible. They
have managed a five and three record while putting together
some of the worst offense this league is seen in
the last two hundred years.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
I mean it is it is just y'all, y'all win.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
So, I mean, I don't know how they're doing it.
Kenny Pickett, you know, credit where credits due, drives them
down the field, they score with under five minutes left.
They get the go ahead score there and Pittsburgh ends
up doing it again offensively. You know, Matt Canada was
on the sidelines. That was the big change and the
big adjustment they made. He was calling plays from the sideline.

(00:57):
But day listen, five three is five and three and
you did it on a short week with a banged
up quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
So there's that.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
I just I don't get it. I don't know how
they continue to do this, and it seems like it's
every week.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
And they both were at the same you know record, right,
like one win separates you from being a top one
win puts you at the bottom.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Yeah, a big game for both teams.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Tennessee could have gotten to five hundred, Pittsburgh would have
dropped a five hundred with the loss.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Right, and it's two different worlds, Now and the North
is so competitive.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
Here's the secret red zone turnovers. All right, they've been
winning the red zone and turnover battles. So when you
talk about how in fact they've been outscore opponents but
not outgained them, it's in large part because if they're
getting turnovers, they are on short fields and in the
red zone they're capitalizing. They're converting those in the touchdowns,

(01:52):
not field goals for the most part. So that's that's
really been the two things that have stood out for
this team that have allowed them to have a shot. Obviously,
their defense has been outstanding as it was last night,
getting two big stops, but Kenny Pickett two kind of
coming up clutch in the in the final moments. Now
we saw verus Baltimore, we saw it last night versus Tennessee.

(02:14):
He's led them down on drives to get touchdowns to
go win that game.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
So give him a lot of credit.

Speaker 5 (02:20):
I thought Will Levis looked really good too in this
you know at the end there was obviously in a
dire situation, he's trying to throw the needle and take
some chances that was gonna happen. But for the most part,
man like he looks the part two. I don't know
that Mike Rabile can go back to Ryan Tannehill when he's.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Healthy, No way. I think Will Levis has played too well.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
And for Kenny Pickett in the offense, you know, Matt
Cannon at being down in the field, I think a
lot of times just gives the coordinator a better sense
of the emotions and everything that's going on. But either way,
I mean, if you're Mike Toma, as much as you
won more offensive production, you're winning right now.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
I mean, so what are you gonna say?

Speaker 5 (02:59):
I mean, maybe it's a scary thing to think about
if this offense ever really starts to click and they
start slinging at the George Pickens and Deontay Johnson all
the time, and what that could actually mean for this team.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
You know, I'm certain that Sam will be able to
appreciate this. Both of these teams play Iowa football. They
play Iowa football well.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
They know they know the rules, at least run.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Them on special teams.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Well, I'm just well, I'm just say like that that
would be the big day. You know, they they run
the ball, They run the ball.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Shouts out to Jayle He had a super big game
for them, and you know, gave them a different a
different look for Pittsburgh outside of nause Like, you got
more of a quicker, quicker, scat back that that isn't
afraid of contact. He was maybe a major part of
the success that they were able to have moving the ball.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
Derrick Henry ran the ball. They they batter rammed him
in the game and did what they needed to do
and they they punted the ball and play defense. And
that's kind of the style of play that you've seen
through the years with Pittsburgh and Tennessee. So you knew
this was going to be one of those stout fights,
stout games where you were going to have heavyweights throwing

(04:15):
heavyweight blows.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
You weren't going.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
To see the super ridiculously big play just because these
defenses don't really too much allow for it, at least
for Pittsburgh. I haven't seen much of Tennessee this year,
but it didn't look like that was present in last
evening's games. So you know, they played defense, they kicked

(04:39):
the ball, they played for field position, and I think
that there's when you look at the Pittsburgh Steelers, that's
probably what Mike Tomlin in this this outfit does most
is they play the odds on the field position, They
play strong, solid defense, and they try to give their
offense the opportunity as many opportunities as they need to
get critical critical points for them, every point matters. They

(05:03):
don't have throwaway points. So but it's a it's a
you know, they get much maligned a lot like, oh,
this is a fake team, like they shouldn't have the
record that they have, but they're pretty consistent with winning
the way that they win and that's just been the
way they do things. And you know, like like you said,
I give Tomlin credit because a lot of times we

(05:25):
look at this team, he's like, well, what is Picky
going to do? Or it's Matt Canada that's the problem,
whatever it may be. But they always seem to find
a way to keep themselves competitive, and they did that
last night.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Is the Matt Canada being on the sideline that big
of a deal, like is it? Or is this just
kind of like we're searching for answers. Let's try anything
we got in the bag.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
I mean, yeah, to the degree that I mean, if
you think about it, I mean he's trying everything possible
to get more out of this offense. And that's another
way of doing it is being down on the field
where your vantage point isn't quite as good as a
play caller. And hopefully he trusts people who are up
there in the booth who are telling them, hey, what's
there or how they're aligning to different things. But you

(06:12):
get the photos and all that on the sideline, so
you should be fine. It just more taps into the
emotion of things and it gets you closer to Kenny Pickett,
so you know what he's thinking. You're on the same page.
It's he's not a phone call away. He's right there
right when he gets off the field. You know, that's
you know, trying and reevaluating things. And I think Mike
Tomlin talked about doing that right, reevaluate stuff on offense.

(06:35):
So look, they're they're winning, they continue to find ways.
It's it's the culture to me that Mike Tomlin's built
there where they just find ways of winning games.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
And it's it's like the Pittsburgh wead.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
It's kind of fun to see like that doesn't matter
who they play, what week. It is like it it
was ten years ago. It just feels like that's Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
New players knew everything. No, it's still the same bullet story.

Speaker 5 (07:02):
They'll grind it out, you know, They're just gonna grind
the whole game out. Like I mean, by the way,
if you bet this game, okay, the lie that I
got was three three and a half somewhere depending on
and when when you were getting in the week and
the over and was set at thirty six and a half. Yeah,
and it might have closed around thirty seven. But either way,
like you were watching the last two drives and just

(07:26):
are I mean at the edge of your seat like
that was one of those where the odds makers were
dead on between these two teams and how this whole
thing would play out.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Also, I think you know our friends in Nashville listening
on the zone right now, I don't know what your
expectations were coming into this season, and I know that
Look they're sitting at three and three and five, they're
winless on the road, are the Tennessee Titans. But you
made mention of this earlier, Brady, they've got a quarterback, Like,

(07:55):
you have to feel good if you're a Titans fan
about what you've seen from Will Levis, and like he
it's a flick of the wrist and the ball is
figgering at It's a flick of the wrist one more time,
flick of the wrist, Like there was a there was
a throw at the end of the first half down
the scene where they were trying to get down into
field goal range, and he just and he looks, he

(08:17):
looks completely relaxed in the pocket almost And I think
Kirk Kurvestreet was trying to make the point almost too relax, like, hey,
you have great poise, but you know, like sense that
you know, maybe there's somebody coming around the end or
you've got you know, whether it's you know, a TJ.
Watt or somebody else is gonna make a play. Just
he never seems like he's stressed out. There's no panic.

(08:37):
So if you're a Titan, s probably.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Because the protection is better than what he had in college.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
Yeah, from being real about it, but here's the thing
that's so hard when you're projecting what you see in
college to the NFL is the tools that he has
because his arm is so strong. Like everyone we all
talked about that when he was coming out in the draft,
but everyone, ah, it's accuracy, missed some throws, you know,
not really sure like what that. The reality is, he

(09:04):
doesn't have to step anywhere in the pocket to throw.
He just flicks his wrists and the balls out there
and it's accurate and honestly, like the protection's probably better
at Tennessee, and he's probably got better separation with his receivers.
Like if you look at some of the throws he's making,
the Kyle Phillips or New Kopkins or whoever else, like
their separation like they're open. It looked like velcrow coverage

(09:27):
when it was at Kentucky, where guys there's constantly a
defender right next to him. So this was an entirely
different situation for him, and it feels like it looks
easy for him, and maybe that's why he's so calm
and so relaxed when.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
He's back there.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
You know, it was interesting that the pressure was able
to get to him in the game, like they were
able to get sacks on will Levis, but he still
continued to in there. Yeah, he still continued to stand
in there, which was maybe the difference in the game
was the amount of time guys had an amount of
pressure that was on. Realize that that picket never got sacked.

(10:02):
He didn't get sacked one time in the game. And
and so you know, you have those those discrepancies when
when you see a team and they're able to, you know,
deliver balls that last that last drive, different things that
that take place in the game. A lot of what
a lot is dictated by what the defense is able

(10:24):
to do in terms of moving that quarterback around. And
Will levis Is is a pretty mobile quarterback on top
of that, on top of the strong arms. So I
think it's definitely solidified that that he's the future moving forward.
When does Tannehill come back? Who cares that well that
that I think it becomes a conversation. Gosh, okay, would

(10:45):
you think it becomes a conversation.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
It's not like a horse that you're putting out the pasture.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
They can hear you, Brady, what sorry about that guy?

Speaker 4 (10:52):
Sorry here the breeders cup. They're telling you if you win,
you're out of here. You know what I mean, don't
you don't lose out of here too.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Don't you think the Titans are so much more watchable
with Will Levis at quarterback? Like I was watching last night,
going okay, I could actually sit through a Titans game.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Now.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
They were borderline unwatchable with either Malik Willis or Ryan
Tannehill at quarterback. And I'm looking at it going, man,
you got Derrick Henry, You've got Hopkins. Even with the
injuries they're dealing with on the offensive line, he gives
them a shot and he makes them that much more.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
Makes it better for Derrick Henry, that's for certain, because
everybody is going to play him and beat up on him.
And now that you've got big arm Will Levis out
there pushing it downfield to his receivers with Phillips and
Hopkins and more, you gotta believe that. You know, they
gotta play defense in the secondary now and not just

(11:48):
sit there and wait for Derek Hemry to get the ball.
So it gives him the opportunity. He didn't break a
hundred yards, but seventeen carries and seventy five yards with
a four point four yard average per carry. That's not
to me for for Derrick Henry where he's at in
his career. That's not a bad night. You didn't overuse him,

(12:11):
and largely in part you had effectiveness when you did
use him.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
So I'm not trying to jump the gun here, but
if you're just looking at the AFC South, you got
Trevor Lawrence, you got C. J. Stroud, you got Anthony Richardson,
you got Will Levis. There's an opportunity that we could
have some really really good quarterback play.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
Through the year, decade, through the South, about this year,
but through the years, yeah, saying man.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. Five lines,

(12:55):
not those kind of lines. Five picks, five spreads, Time
for picks against the spread.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
All right, Lee, how much did I win by last night?

Speaker 3 (13:06):
How'd you guys do last night? Yeah? You had no
idea all the over hunders. Sure, I don't know. I
don't have them in front of.

Speaker 6 (13:14):
In front of me today there in the bar they play.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
He dropped them in front of the alpaca.

Speaker 7 (13:22):
I was taking out with John almost last night.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
So I wow.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
The spread?

Speaker 2 (13:31):
How much did I win by last weekly?

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (13:34):
Let me tell you. We'll go game by game and
I'll let you know here. Jonas, So last week we
had Rams and Cowboys. Jonas LeVar, you guys correct that
Dallas would take it to the Rams. Forty three to
twenty was the end of that game. We went onto
the Eagles at Commanders where we had to push line
was a seven points a favorite for the Eagles. Of course,
they did win thirty eight to thirty one, so push there.

(13:56):
I think Jonas he just took Washington. Brady LeVar so Philly,
but it doesn't matter. We had Jags at Steelers. Everyone
was wrong. You guys were all bullish on the Steelers.
Jags put their win streak to five. They took that
win onto Bengals at Niners. Uh, you guys all correctly
picked Cincinnati. They won that game thirty one seventeen. And
you guys all correctly also predicted the Chargers would beat

(14:19):
the Bears.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
On Sunday Night one on everybody.

Speaker 7 (14:23):
Jonas and LaVar, you guys tied three one and one,
Brady two two and one. But LaVar, you still maintained
a healthy lead here six game leads.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
So six game leads starting this week.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
I have to do every week.

Speaker 5 (14:39):
I only missed five last week, and you got somehow
three of the five that I made.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
That's amazing.

Speaker 7 (14:47):
That's how I picked these games, than make it hard.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
So on the week nine, let's kick it off.

Speaker 8 (14:56):
Chiefs.

Speaker 7 (14:56):
Hell, yeah, we're doing NFL Horses.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
We are next hour. There's been some some adjustments here
due to two circumstances that we.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
Will yeah, yeah, don't worry about it. We're gonna do
league right here.

Speaker 7 (15:14):
So as you heard it, Dolphins at Chiefs gave and Frankfurt.
Chiefs are two and a half or excuse me, two
point favorites versus the Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
I'll take Miami. I don't like the travel idea by
the Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
I'll tell you I'm money lining Miami. You don't you
get Yeah?

Speaker 3 (15:34):
Do you care? They're gonna spank them. They want to
spank the Chiefs. What do you take? Two points here?
All right, guys, we got the Chiefs.

Speaker 8 (15:41):
Next one up, Vikings and Falcons.

Speaker 7 (15:45):
This is an interesting one, you guys. Falcons are four
point favorites at home.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
I guess who gets the Vikings.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
This is the most difficult game all weekend.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
I'm laying the points, by the way.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
It opened three and a half and two on a
little but I'll take four points in Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
I'm with Brady.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
I just god, man, why'd you pick that one?

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Oh? What a JF. That's right. I'm laying of points.
So you taking?

Speaker 7 (16:14):
I don't know, Taylor Handikey, who are you taking?

Speaker 3 (16:18):
What does that mean? I'm laying the point, by the way.
Do you see two points? Four points? Is the spirit? Yeah?
You know the Falcons? Falcons? Yeah, I'm taking a Falcon.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Do you see Taylor Heineke's Halloween costume? His girlfriend? He
was dressed as a deer and she had headlights on
deer in headlights.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
I put that one together. Yeah, yeah, don't together else?
All right?

Speaker 8 (16:43):
Next one up, Cold said Panthers.

Speaker 7 (16:45):
This is the only game this week where the road
team is the favorite, where the Colts are two and
a half point favorites versus the Panthers.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
I'll take the Panthers. I'll take the two and a
half points. Frank raik Ree, Colts will cover. Yeah, I'll
take Indy here.

Speaker 8 (17:02):
Next up, Cowboys and Eagles.

Speaker 7 (17:05):
Eagles three point favorites at home.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Interesting Eagles will cover.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
I'll take Dallas getting three.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
I'll lay the three of Philly last one.

Speaker 8 (17:17):
Bills and Bengals.

Speaker 7 (17:19):
Sunday Night Football, Bengals two point favorites at home, Sincy.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
I'll take the Bills in the two points.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
The Bills are the favorites about to No Bengals as are.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Two. Bengals will cover. They've been learned.

Speaker 7 (17:42):
Baby, I'm taking all of ours picks from going forward,
Live and Learn Update.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
You know you're not gonna pick is any candy for
the little kids next year?

Speaker 3 (17:51):
At Yeah Update? Sam? I never know, you never know.
Might I might be qualified next year? Who knows.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Listen, we're coming up on five am Pacific time. These
horses gotta wake their asses.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
It's too cold, man.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Get your lazy asses up.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
You got a race. I hope they got them.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
Them horses like like garbed up with some warm, warm
blankets and.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
Capes and stuff like we've done some heaters.

Speaker 8 (18:16):
Are we done?

Speaker 3 (18:18):
Are we done? You ain't do nothing. You ain't gonna
be nothing, just like deady.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Wake up horses, lazy ass you ain't never gonna.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Be Be sure to catch live editions of two Pros

and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific.

Speaker 6 (18:41):
Hey, we're Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to.

Speaker 8 (18:45):

enough time to get to everything we want to get to.

Speaker 6 (18:50):
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for. Yeah, you blubber listen, Jam and me.

Speaker 8 (19:04):
Well, you know what it's called over promise.

Speaker 6 (19:06):
You should be good at it because you've been over
promising women for years. Well, it's a Covino and Rich
after show, and we want you to be a part
of it. We're gonna be talking sports, of course, but
we're also going to talk life and relationships. And if
Rich and I are arguing about something or we didn't
have enough time, it will continue on our after show
called over Promised. Well, if you don't get enough Covino
and Rich, make sure you check out over Promised and

(19:26):
also Uncensored by the way, So maybe we'll go at
it even a little harder. It's gonna be the best
after show podcast of all time. There you go, over promising.
Remember you could see on YouTube, but definitely join us.
Listen Over Promised with Covino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
So we we've got an update on the situation with
Michigan and the sign stealing scandal currently going on. According
to ESPN, Big Ten coaches spent ninety minutes on a
video o call with Commissioner Tony Pettiti and want him
to take action now. Another source says he will have

(20:07):
to act or he will lose the coaches and the
athletic directors. So they're getting pretty aggressive there, Brady Quinn,
uh lose them?

Speaker 3 (20:16):
Where just their cycle? Where are they going to go? Right?
Where are they gonna go?

Speaker 5 (20:22):
What are they gonna do if he doesn't do anything?
So there's a few there's a few issues with this.
And this isn't like a hey, I'm backing Michigan or
I'm against Michigan here, It's more about how the process
of punishment within college football has typically taking place.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
It's typically done by the NCAA.

Speaker 5 (20:42):
The NCAA is currently investigating Michigan in a couple of ways. Obviously,
there's the Jim Harbaugh stuff that's going on. There's also
the Matt Weiss, the offensive coordinator stuff that was actually
an FBI investigation for computer crimes that's also going on.
So there's a couple of things that the NCAA is
looking in to in regards to Michigan. The part that's

(21:03):
a little bit odd is all these coaches have known
this has gone on for years. There's even photos now
dating back to Connor stallions on the sidelines in twenty nineteen,
twenty eighteen before he was technically quote unquote employed as
an employee of the university. So I'm not going to
go down that rabbit hole, but we like, I guess
it points out the fact that we don't even know

(21:23):
how long this has been going on. People have tried
to create this narrative like, oh, it's been going on
since they've won the last Big two, you know, last
two Big ten championships.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
We don't even know that.

Speaker 5 (21:35):
Now, the more photo service, the more things that are
out there, they're still trying to sort through all this.
And also we don't know who all counter Stallions was
involved with. We saw on the Central Michigan sidelines giving
signals to their staff. We're still waiting for an explanation
from Central Michigan about this. So one, we don't have

(21:56):
all the facts, and yet we're rushing to judgment, which
I think is always a dangerous precedent to set. The
other thing is this has never been a commissioner's duty,
your responsibility. People tend to use that Michigan Michigan State
fight that occurred in the tunnel there in ann Arbor
as a reason being for Petiti to get involved in

(22:18):
all this.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
That was different.

Speaker 5 (22:21):
Those young men could have been charged criminally for assault.
This is entirely different. This is like it's cheating in gamesmanship.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
This isn't.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
This isn't assault on a young man or on a
human being. So it's completely different. So please spare me
trying to use the Michigan Michigan State fight that took
place in the tunnel as an example for how the
Big Ten reacted to it. That was where people could
literally charge a crime. Okay, this would be precedent setting

(22:55):
in a manner of which the commissioner will then get
involved with these sorts of violations or rules that.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
We'll be broken.

Speaker 5 (23:03):
We've never seen this before for something like this, I
don't know that Tony Pettiti wants to be the first
to do that. And on top of it, they don't
have a robust group that does these sorts of investigations.
They would have to consult or outsource to do this,
which means it's not gonna happen in a timely manner.
The NCAA does have a group that investigates these sorts

(23:26):
of claims or violations, so they're much better suited for it.
So I understand people out there who feel like they've
been wrong Michigan is caught red handed that they want punishment,
but let's make sure.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
We go about doing it the right way.

Speaker 5 (23:41):
So then when your school is the next that's potentially
in trouble, you're not gonna be complaining about the punishment
because of the precedent that's set right now. And that's
the sticky situation that the Big Ten and Tony Pettiti
find themselves in. But as far as these coaches and
athletic directors moaning and complaining about the lack of action.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
Taken, give me a break.

Speaker 5 (24:04):
You've know this has been going on for years, and
now you're trying to finally mail this in. It just
it seems extremely odd, and it seems like in Toni
Petiti in his first year's commissioner, they're trying to force
him with leverage now and public perception that he needs
to act, he needs to do something, and I think
I could set a terrible precedent for the Big Ten

(24:25):
moving forward.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
That's the part that bothers me, in particular Michigan State
and their athletic director coming out and using the fight
in the tunnel as some sort of well, you know,
it would be hypocritical if you didn't throw the book
at him now and do it in a quick manner
like he did for us last year. And then the
guy's got the balls to come out and say, you

(24:46):
know he mentions, you know, the alterations this from the
ESPN article. He mentioned the alterations Michigan State needed to
undergo in order to prepare for its October twenty first
game against Michigan after receiving a call Wednesday of that
about Michigan having Michigan State signals Okay, like are we
really gonna play this game? Like if you're Michigan State,

(25:08):
don't you have other issues you need to worry about, Like,
don't you have other things going on with your program?
Like why did you have Adolf Hitler show up on
the scoreboard before the game during a trivia round? Like
what about your former head coach who admitted to having
phone sex with somebody he brought in who was speaking
as a rape victim. Like there's all this stuff, yeah,

(25:28):
Like all this stuff going around and Michigan States out
there wanting to throw stones and demanding action and all
these other To your point, you knew about this, and
you delayed, and you waited, and you waited at least
a year based on the evidence of everything we have.
So if I'm patiti I'd just be like, all right, well,
since you guys waited a year to let anybody here
know about it, We're going to wait a year to

(25:49):
put a punishment down.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
Tough balls.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
There's a lot of exposure to what's going on. I
think the one of the good points that you just
made is is that you're you're continuing to put this
whoever you are, You're continuing to let this play out
in public, public court, public domain, and you're going to continue.
Some people are very cut and dry. If you broke

(26:14):
the rules, you broke the rules. And and so once
those rules are exposed and they continuously are being peppered
within the listening and paying attention audience, you're clearly going
to have two sides emerged. You're going to have one
side that is pro Michigan and you're going to have
another side that's anti Michigan. So it doesn't really become

(26:35):
about the facts that are surrounding what's going on. It
doesn't really surround it being you know, a just you
know approach to what the outcome is. It's it's us
or Michigan, and that's kind of how it kind of unfolds,
and the more it plays out in the media, it
just what it really does is it does put pressure

(26:57):
on the Big Ten and it does put pressure on
Michigan because while it may whatever the level of rule
breaking that it may measure up to be, it's still
a rule break and it's still considered to be a
rule break that gives the team what would be considered
an unnecessary advantage over their opponents.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
So it's it's hard, it's hard to.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
Kind of comprehend it in a way where you would say,
you know, everybody does it, so keep it moving, moving on.
It's it's very clear that sure everybody does something that
is beyond the realm.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Of the rules.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
People break the rules all the time. And but but again,
you're caught. And I think that that's the biggest thing here.
For one reason or another, it's Michigan.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
They're caught.

Speaker 4 (27:49):
What happens now, you know the pressure of what happens
now that push to to having you know, a disciplinary
action take place.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
I mean, ultimately to me comes down to you're looking.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
At a situation where they are not wanting to compete
with a contender. This is a team that is good
enough and could have been good enough to win the
national title if you think about it, I said, Ohio
State wins that game against Georgia if Marvin Harrison Junior
doesn't go out, Well, if you think about it, Michigan

(28:24):
spanked Ohio State, so they gave it up to TCU.
But nonetheless, they were good enough to be in the
game before the National Championship Game, the National Championship round.
So I think a lot of this has to do
with fear. They don't want to compete with Michigan right now,
And so you try to even the play and field
by bringing other elements into play so that you don't

(28:47):
have a full powered Michigan. You lose Hardball as the coach.
You lose what Michigan has and why they're able to win.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
And Michigan and Georgia are the co favorites to win
the national title right now courtesy of our friends with
DraftKings plus two forty.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
But would they be favored if they don't have Hardball
as their coach?

Speaker 2 (29:07):
Well, no, I think the punishment would probably be I mean,
is it even possible, Brady, that they could tell them
this late in the game, you just can't be a
part of the college football playoff If a punishment got
handed down that quick.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
Like a bowl ban, Yeah, like immediately that I think.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
You would sacrifice the coach before you would do that again.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
It would be president setting in that way.

Speaker 5 (29:32):
I can't recall a time where we've seen something for
something like this happened so quickly without having a formal investigation.
And I also understand the problem with that is if
you wait, it punishes next year's group of players and
next year's coaching staff. If Jim Harbin's not even there, right,
Like all the violations during that run for USC did

(29:52):
impact Pete Carroll he moved on to Seattle Seahawks. It
impacted every coach and player for that next five to
six seven year per at USC afterwards. And so that's
the problem with a lot of the punishment of the NCAA.
It's always retroactive in the sense of it. It's it's
they're looking backwards and then punishing forwards, which doesn't make
any sense, right, So it's it's hard to know where

(30:16):
this is going to go. But I do think, you know,
Tony Petiti's got to be very careful about setting a
present here moving forward because I mean, look, you don't
have to take my opinion.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
I've said this from the jump.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
This goes on at a lot of places, and so
I'm not going to use that as the reason to
justify what Michigan has done.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Clearly they've overstepped their bounds.

Speaker 5 (30:40):
But the problem is, if you're going to catch Michigan
for doing it, then you've really got to start investigating
a lot of other people who.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
Do it as well.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
And then and that's the hard thing is once you
open up Pandora's Box for Tony Pettiti and the Big Ten.
Where does an investigation stop, Like at what point, like
where do you start to draw their boundaries of what
they're going to enforce, what they're not, how they're going
to punish, how they're not, How does that punishment differentiate
