Speaker 3 (00:23):
Here, full bottle, full bottle, full throttle, full bottle.

Back to Eddie's back from vacation.

Speaker 5 (00:32):
Yeah, daddie, Daddy Eddie, I believe Iowa, Sam calls him
now after his bathroom situation over his vacation.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Wait, what you gotta listen to the Ben Mallor show.

Speaker 6 (00:44):
Put dead bolt ed dead bolt ahead.

Speaker 7 (00:49):
He's got a bunch of nicknames.

Speaker 6 (00:50):
Dead bolt Ed. I've never heard that one.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
He uh, he had a.

Speaker 8 (00:53):
Little mishappen in New York City bathroom. Yeah, Eddie, if
you would like to, I don't.

Speaker 7 (00:56):
Even know if he's listening it. Well, we will get
the detail.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
The a.

Speaker 5 (01:04):
Edie, that's actually what Yes, that's actually what the woman said, Eddie.

Speaker 6 (01:08):
So Edie, what they're calling you? Dead bolt Ed?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Now?

Speaker 7 (01:11):
What happened?

Speaker 9 (01:12):
Well, I was at a I went on vacation in
New York. I was at a very nice restaurant, and
I went to the restroom. It was one of those
unisex restrooms, right, So I pushed the button to lock
the door, and apparently that lock did not work, and uh,
a very nice uh older lady walked into the.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
She said, my goodness, New York City. I love you.

Speaker 6 (01:39):
She says all the cash and prizes off says.

Speaker 7 (01:41):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
But she closed the door. The south I don't know.

Speaker 9 (01:50):
I didn't ask her where she was from, ye though,
but she was. She was waiting outside the door when
I when I came.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Out, she was said, uh, what is your name?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Sorry?

Speaker 9 (02:00):
I said, sorry, man, that you see that? And she said,
is ain't nothing I've never seen before.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Yeah, She's like, I didn't know they let you bring
a thermosin.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Dude, Damn boat locks, don't you in this case?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
No, I guess Eddie, if you think about it, it's
kind of I guess the receipt for the one time
you walked into the bathroom here and somebody didn't lock that.

Speaker 7 (02:31):
Was that was, yeah, And he was he was not standing.

Speaker 9 (02:34):
He was seated seated on the.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Which which is worse to be seated or standing? I mean,
I think seated is worse.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Yeah, seated is a little bit more compromising? Is that
because they like move quicker? Well, you can't move. You're
go in the bathroom like you're not moving. Well, but
think about it. If you're standing, you could actually move
quicker if you had to move.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
If you're sitting, you're just.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
Id still what you're saying, But why are you coming
you're the one that's in the bathroom.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yeah, but I'm just saying, what what if they were
trying to jack you or you know whatever.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
You're missing. You're missing the point. I'm not saying something
totally in there and jump you. Yeah, I'm totally saying
would you rather be caught standing up or sitting down?

Speaker 10 (03:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (03:22):
I get it. I get what you're saying. I would
rather be.

Speaker 7 (03:25):
Said thinking somebody's gonna asking for my help?

Speaker 4 (03:29):
Allay, Hey, whatever it is, I need to be able
to move. If you're sitting down that you're just no o.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
If I if I'm sitting down, I'm probably more relaxed, right,
just kind of waving, Hey, I'm using that.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Yeah, yeah, I just happened to you so you probably
know best.

Speaker 7 (03:46):
Yeah, well you know.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
I thought it was funny. Actually it was the great story.
I was really. I gotta be honest. I wasn't really embarrassed.

Speaker 7 (03:54):
I thought that was kind of funny and.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
She was cool to do.

Speaker 7 (03:57):
So you know when when you go no, we all
got to go story, Well yeah, there it is.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Well, it's good to have you back, and it's good
to have back going back, And I gotta tell you
it's good to have the NFL back later on tonight
because they are in the mood for some bad football.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Boy.

Speaker 7 (04:14):
Oh boy is Amazon.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
I'm gonna deliver God Michaels, He's gonna be so frustrating.

Speaker 6 (04:23):
I'm not kidding.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
He should really do the show from Gibson's, Like, just
say screw it. I can get a steak here, I
can call the game. Just make sure I've got a
decent feed, and then let me just hang out here
so I don't have to go sit at Soldier Field
and watch two of the worst teams.

Speaker 7 (04:38):
In the league battled out.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
I would love to know what the number is on
this game as far as people be viewing it and
people watching I would love to know how soon we'll
be able to get that, if that's even possible.

Speaker 5 (04:48):
With Let's talk big picture though about the matchup, because
Neither of these teams are playoff teams, unless you're Jonas
Knox and you picked the Bears to to go to
the playoffs for.

Speaker 6 (04:57):
The reckless allegation.

Speaker 7 (04:58):
I don't believe that actually took Lee.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Can we confirm that, Jonas?

Speaker 2 (05:04):
I think Lee was siphoning vodka to somebody's gas tank
in the parking Mighty made that up.

Speaker 7 (05:08):
I don't want it, Weld card team.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
I'm looking at it right now.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
A vodka.

Speaker 7 (05:16):
No, I did not.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
I just listened.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
I Sam, what car is run on vodka?

Speaker 8 (05:24):
I want to know. I want to own this car.
Talk least least Chevy Malby runs on vodka.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Listen, you don't have a breathalyzer that just thanks screws.
We can start it up.

Speaker 11 (05:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Look, not not an ideal pick before the year, but
here we are, We're coming. We're Week ten and somehow,
some way, the Chicago Bears are a three point favorite
at home against the crummy Carolina Panthers. And there could
be some changes after this season based on how these
two these two teams are playing thus far.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
You think so.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Frank Reich should not feel comfortable with his job, with
David Tepper having to have weekly meetings, him having to
give up play calling duties, all that stuff. I still
think he most likely keeps the gig. But based on
everything that David Tepper has done as an owner there,
and you can ask, you know, you can ask Levar's

(06:18):
guy in Nebraska, why am I blanket on his name,
Matt Rule? You can ask him how that went. I
just feel like Frank Reich's got to be looking at
this going. I got to show some sort of growth
or progress down the stretch just to feel a little
bit more comfortable by keeping keeping the gig. That's how
it feels to me.

Speaker 5 (06:37):
LeVar, do you think, well, I guess I'll taste you
this way. You have an offensive minded head coach who
takes over for the first overall pick, and then he
basically demotes himself as a play caller to their name
Doc not Thomas Brown's taken over. Like is that enough

(06:58):
if this season continues this way for you as an
owner to be like, yeah, this isn't the right guy then.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
You know.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
And then he talked about the meetings that he was
having with the owner in the constant meetings and then
made it a point to highlight how hands on the
owner is I just think that the signs on the
wall definitely are saying exit, you know, or go and
not meaning go as in like go get it and

(07:26):
get it done, as in go as and go home.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
We do not need you anymore.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
So I think if he wants to keep his job,
he's certainly right, certainly needs to show that Bryce Young
can be an NFL quarterback successful and that Carolina is
trending in the right direction. Now, that doesn't have to
come in my estimation, It doesn't have to come so

(07:52):
much in their wins and losses. I just think it
has to come in the way that they're playing. If
they're playing inspired football, if they're if they look like
things are coming together, you know, the continuity, then maybe
there's a chance.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
But it doesn't look good. It doesn't look good.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
This is a must win for the Bears, and I'll
tell you why not, because I think Matt Eberflus might
be in trouble as well too. But also, the Bears
hold the panthers number one pick. They've got to ensure
that this pick gets worse and worse for Carolina so
they can have an opportunity to draft a quarterback. And
right now, Arizona's got the first pick if you can

(08:34):
hand an L to Carolina, which is only going to
benefit you in the long run. This is the most
important game for the Chicago Bears since their Super Bowl team,
And I'm gonna say it right now tonight you want
a reason to watch. Must win for the Chicago Bears
if they want to fix the quarterback problem and have
some hope of drafting one of these guys like a
Caleb Williams Levar's guy who shows passion and emotion that

(08:57):
he's going to bring the soldier field.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
Let's not go on that route.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
Let's continue the conversation though about like is that bieberflu
safe Because that's one where you look at and say,
if you are going to draft a quarterback that high,
don't you want him to be in a scenario where
he's got a head coach and he's got an organization
that's got optimism and stability and not Because the problem
is you draft that guy and you keep Eberflus, you're

(09:21):
almost saying, like, all right, if things don't work out, well,
he's the problem.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
I gonna get a new head coach.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Like he almost feels like he'd be a lame duck
in some ways with the way this season's gone and
maybe even last season to a degree.

Speaker 7 (09:31):
Yeah, yeah, I agree, Yeah, so I.

Speaker 5 (09:34):
Just I don't know, but I do think it's interesting
if you look at these two teams. The Bears obviously
are the team that gave away the draft picks to
Carolina to get Bryce Young. Now we're seeing what that
looks like, and then the Bears might be in that
very spot this upcoming draft, depending on how things work out.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
And you got former Carolina Panthers Dj Moore Deontae Foreman
who's there as well too, So at least there's a
little bit of, you know, some some stuff going on
there as far as seeing your exes and seeing your
former team and seeing how this soul plays out. But nonetheless,
this is probably gonna be an awful game, probably gonna
be a bad football game.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
Oh, you're taking the under as so what we're saying,
what are.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
We looking at on the under? It's three, So the
under would be right now, thirty eight and a half.
Thirty eight and a half. No, the Bears are a
three point favorites, so it's thirty eight and a half. Yeah,
I mean, if if either team gets to twenty points,
they should count it as two wins. I'll just put
it that way. And Tyson Bagent is starting at quarterback.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
So I don't know that their fan base.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
Once once got his two wins, they probably want to win,
but they probably want to have been a good draft
position for next year, right yeah, Because if the draft
was to take place tomorrow, Bears would have the number
one pick, and then it would be what the Panthers.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
After that, Well, the next.

Speaker 7 (10:51):
Team, Arizona would have the number one pick right now.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Okay, so Arizona, then what Bears.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Carolina's got it, and then Chicago and.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Then your Chicago has their picks.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
So that's why I think it's a must win for
the Chicago Bears. They've got to win this game. You've
got to ensure this pick. It's worse and worse for Carolina.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Sounds funny, Sam must win for one of these teams.

Speaker 7 (11:13):
Is it's about how crazy trying to win.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
That's a little overstated.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Most important win, most important game in the last thirty
something years of the Bears. I'm telling you right now tonight,
that's how important this game is. Forget the Super Bowl,
and yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
I just wonder if Bryce Young is going to bounce back.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
I mean two weeks ago to geinst his first win
wasn't great, but it was that kind of showdown versus
c J.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
Stroud in Houston last week. CJ.

Speaker 5 (11:43):
Stroud puts on the performance maybe of the year, not
only as a rookie but any quarterback, and Bryce has
his worst games as a professional quarterback. It's just it
was it was quite the contrast, like on that day
to have like and to think, all right, it is
Carolina building to it's something do they continue to take
off from here?

Speaker 4 (12:02):
And it like it felt like it could only get worse.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
And so now short week, this is like that opportunity
to kind of redeem yourself against the defense that I
guess you says, you know, playing a little better, obviously
getting Montes sweat, Who's you gonna help in that regard?

Speaker 4 (12:16):
But I don't know, man, they just lacked firepower. The
offense just doesn't feel like it has any bite to it.
You know.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
It almost feels like they could use DJ Moore and
Christian McCaffrey.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Like pieces that would make a dramatic difference based on
how this team has.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Playing so far.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Gummy Bears gummy bears don't have teeth, you know, so
that the bears don't have the bite. That's what you're saying.
But it called the gummy bears, not the Chicago bears.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
What was the We talked about it on the show
a few months ago. The little interesting tidbit that the
green gummy bear is actually is it strawberry?

Speaker 3 (12:57):
Is that the I don't know the flavor, but it
isn't what you would think it is, which I don't
know what what you think green is. That's always like
it's like green apple or sour apple.

Speaker 7 (13:07):
No, I think it's strawberry lime.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
I've never heard of lime, Sam, you think.

Speaker 8 (13:12):
It's well, no, I'm saying some green candies are lime flavor,
like uh, like skittles or lime.

Speaker 7 (13:19):
Yeah, that's but you can anymore so you can still
get them out here.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
That's contraband now it will be I think, but on
the black market it's the dyes.

Speaker 7 (13:28):
They don't want the dyes in the candy out here because.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
He decides that Gavinderson, Yeah, the.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
State decided somehow, Well, you don't want to you don't
want to mess up your mask, so you want to
get rid of that die as soon as you can.

Speaker 8 (13:38):
Well, they have found that those dyes are not good
for you, so okay, bad for your bad for kids especially.

Speaker 7 (13:42):
But it is strawberry flavored. It's not lime or green apple. Hey, Brady,
who knew?

Speaker 4 (13:49):
What was it? Watermelon?

Speaker 7 (13:50):
No, it's strawberry. Strawberry.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Though.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
That's so confusing because I would literally probably take all
of the greens out, thinking that it would be a
flavor I wouldn't like, and meanwhile it would be strawberry
and that would be amazing.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
Haley, you're probably a skittles guy, aren't you.

Speaker 7 (14:07):
No, No, I'm not really. I'm not a big sweets guy.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
Huh he Lee, that's surprising.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
The sweets guy's got it.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
He's gotta be a little stronger. Are you more like
a choco in it? No, you're more like chocolate. What
do you mean? You're stupid? Stupid? I helped you.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
I helped you back all of you stupid, Lee, So
so go ahead knock it out of the park. You
was about to talk about candy, Brady Quinn was talking
about candy.

Speaker 12 (14:42):
Yeah, Jenkins, big chocolate eyed guy, get it.

Speaker 6 (14:55):
And you know what shocks people most about strawberry being green?

Speaker 7 (14:57):
It's because the red. You would think the red would
be strawberry, but it's actually raspberry. Yeah, oh right, cherry
raspberry cherry candys ferry.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
I was, Sam, do you just eat a bunch of candy?
Is that why you know all this?

Speaker 8 (15:10):
I In the last few days they've been bringing people
have been bringing a lot of Halloween candy, and it's
the most I've ever eaten candy in like all year.

Speaker 7 (15:17):
Like it's we're gonna have to come back with sex
and Candy by Marcy.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
Oh whoa man, that's a great.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Songne like a bad song.

Speaker 7 (15:25):
I'm just letting you know what's coming second, Okay, Sam,
let's go.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
We know where you're hit is.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
We have been all over press coverage on this Michigan
sign stealing scandal, which has taken every twist in turn
over the past couple of weeks, and now we find
ourselves at a spot where Michigan has officially sent its
response to the Big Tens notice of disciplinary action. This

(16:39):
according to a source talking with ESPN that Michigan's ten
page response to the conference was focusing on urging Tony Pettiti,
the Conference commissioner, to respect the due process and argue
that a sanction at this stage would be breaking the
league's bylaws and effort to lay the groundwork for potential
legal intervention if Jim Harbaugh is suspended this.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Week translation, y'all kick rocks and we ain't doing.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
S And also here's a couple of screenshots of other
teams stealing our signs too from last year. If we
want to play this game, I mean, come on, man.

Speaker 5 (17:14):
Well this this goes back to the original point that
I was trying to make either earlier, this week, last week,
Who the hell knows when this all started.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
Which, by the way, I'm so tired of this conversation.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
Man, Like we like this conversation comes to the forefront
and can we'll continue to as the media perpetuates it
when like.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
We've got some huge football games to be played.

Speaker 5 (17:36):
And I understand there's probably some people out there who
think this plays a huge role.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
The dude's not even on the staff anymore.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
Like all these teams the past couple of years has
changed signals and signs as they should regardless, I mean
throughout the course of the year. That's just how you
should do things. I just I don't know, man, I'm
so tired of talking about it.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
But they're not the point.

Speaker 5 (17:59):
Well, the point that all make is we talked about
the whole issue of precedence here. What I find interesting
about the comments from Michigan is they're pointing out the
fact that like this goes on other places too, And
unless you know they're all doing it above board, are
you gonna investigate everyone and make sure that other people

(18:20):
aren't doing the exact same thing we were doing, or
if teams are sharing the information they're getting with one
another about us, like is that legal? Like there's so
many different rabbit holes you could go down in having
this sort of discussion, and so it's going to take
time to investigate to solve this.

Speaker 10 (18:38):
Now.

Speaker 5 (18:38):
The simplest way is just coach the quarterback, You put
the radio system, the helmet. You know it's over. Like
you're not gonna be as concerned about sign stealing, like
none of this matters in the future, and hopefully in
the bowl games they'll do that. But the other thing
that really Michigan's is low key doing is they're kind
of threatening litigation right Like.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
They're threatening with lawsuits.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
And if there's one thing we know right now the
NCAA does not want to have to deal with is
that they can't touch anil And it's why they haven't
been able to do anything from a legal perspective, because
the Supreme Court already ruled nine to zero that it's allowed.
And so all they've done is provide guidelines, and they
really haven't had, you know, any instances where they've they've

(19:19):
been able to use any teeth.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
To hurt a lums, schools, collectives, et cetera. As the
landscape has changed state by stay with NIL laws.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
So just the.

Speaker 5 (19:32):
Threat of any sort of legal action too also probably
would scare off the NCAA being like, Yeah, this is
not another fight that we want to bite off right now,
because we realize that this could be a much bigger issue.
So whether it's the Big Ten or even the NCAAA,
you better believe mission is going to feel like it
can defend itself if they don't feel like there's any
evidence out there, and maybe they don't feel like there's

(19:54):
much evidence out there at least that's what it seems
like they're posturing and saying.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
In this case, I could tell you this without having
any real factual information. The NCAAA could find themselves being,
you know, looked at in the same exact way that
Michigan's being looked at for wrongdoing. How much wrongdoing would
there be uncovered if people started really digging at and

(20:22):
peeling away layers of what the NCAAA has going on
as it applies to let's just keep it to college football,
because we could go college basketball as well. I mean,
and if we were to really start removing the layers
and start pulling back the curtain on on what the
practices of how some things are handled. The NCAA doesn't

(20:46):
want any smoke when it comes down to that type
of that type of scenario playing out, you know, because
people could start snitching on the NCAAA. What are they
going to do? They're already like schools don't want to
deal with them anyway. There's already conversations of you know,
the conferences actually becoming their own governing bodies, you know,

(21:08):
and and so how does that look? How does that unfold?

Speaker 5 (21:11):
There may be more conversation about there being one overarching
governing body that comes from the college football playoff and
I think you'll you'll hear more information about that soon,
about maybe putting in the structure that you see in
the NFL, and that's coming very very soon.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
But you'll have to wait for the announcement here in
the next week or so. Well, there you go, spoiler.
I'm interested in that, and that sounds pretty good. I'm
gonna have to start asking some questions when I leave
this office after I finished this, uh this broadcast. Yeah,
that sounds curious right there.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Do you guys think that the longer this plays out?
And look, Michigan reportedly sent the screenshots over that Ohio
State Rutgers and pretty.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
Could just pause for a second.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
The fact that it's screen grabs, like very similar to
how we all communicate stuff to one another screen grabs.
This is the way like Michigan's communicating, like, oh all right,
we're sending screen grabs back and forth of whatever evidence
we've got or whatever.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
Right, Like, it's no different than what every guy sends
on the other group. Text of the different screen grabs
very relatable.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
It's something everybody does every day. But like, if they're
sending this stuff over, the longer this plays out, because
Dan Wetzel had the point via Yahoo yesterday where he said, look,
either nobody's guilty or everybody's guilty. And I think the
more that people have started to calm down and taken
a step back and looked at this, the more you're
starting to hear from the guys this goes on all

(22:42):
the time and other places crowd like this is not
the end of the world. This is not you know,
doom and gloom for the Big Ten or for college football.
Like the more this plays out, it just comes off
as these teams being really desperate and not having answers
for why they can't compete with Michigan this conference. Like
that's how it reads to me now at this point

(23:03):
to where they're just they don't Maybe they don't like
Jim Harbaugh, maybe there's bad blood, but it comes off
as people that are looking for any reason to try
and get some sort of an edge on Michigan because
they can't beat them on the field.

Speaker 5 (23:15):
Dude, it's a Spider Man meme, like everyone's playing at
each other.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
It's like, no, you don't know it's you. You did this,
or you're doing this, well, aren't you guys doing that?
Like everyone's doing the same thing, just in various ways.
What's up for debate here is how Michigan was obtaining
the signals.

Speaker 5 (23:32):
And the funny thing is is a lot of people
feel like the stuff that's coming out from Michigan. They
have a guy who was you know, analyzing sign stealing
that came out and said, well, actually what Michigan was
doing was antiquated and it probably wasn't even giving them an advantage.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
You know, it almost came out like the flake Gate.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
People have kind of compared this to the flake Gate. Well,
the funny thing about the flake Gate was, and this
is what like people who didn't read the report failed
to understand. Deflake Gate proved that, yes, the Patriots balls
they were playing with were deflated below the legal level.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
Good sorry, good good. It wasn't that funny, but it
was the science.

Speaker 5 (24:13):
The science actually proved that Tom Brady was playing at
a disadvantage because the less deflated the ball was, the
harder it was to be accurate downfield throwing the football.
And if you looked at his numbers after the Flay game,
they only got better, not worse.

Speaker 10 (24:26):
So tofect perfect.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
He's he apparently, but it's no different.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
It's like, well, okay, maybe even the system they're doing
was an incredible waste of time. Maybe it wasn't helping
them at all. I mean, some people want to say, oh,
it made a huge advantage for it, Well did it?
This dates back to before they've won the past two
Big Ten championships. Conna Stallions was on their staff long
before that, and they weren't having success versus host state.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
They weren't winning Big ten championships.

Speaker 5 (24:52):
Then there's just so much information that we still don't know,
don't have, and yet everyone's rushing to make a conclusion
about this.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
It just comes off as desperate, man like it really
like it's remember when Tyson Fury beat Deontay Wilder and
after the fact, Deontay Wilder claimed, well, you know the costume,
my ward of the ring was heavy and he took
out padding and his gloves and you know, I got bad.
I got to switch trainers. And it's like, no, dude,
you just lost like that, that's all, Like you're looking

(25:21):
for every other reason why you couldn't beat him. And
that's what this feels like to me, that these teams
can't beat Michigan. And by the way, one of the
early reports was everybody knew about it this year, so
they switched up their their signs and they switched up
their calls and everything. Okay, if that's the case and
you're still getting your ass beat, then what like what

(25:42):
are we talking about now? Just it feels like this
was done because some teams can't compete on the field
with Michigan.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
They're probably the best they've been this year as a team,
so you can played it about him. They're probably the
best that they've been. Like quarderback McCarthy is is a stud.
They're they're running game. They got Krum there, he's a study.
They got another guy I forget his name, I mean

(26:10):
I could they got on the running back. Yeah, Edwards.
Edwards is a stud there. Their offensive line are studs.
Their defense they have studs. Like this is the probably
the most complete team that Hardball has had since he's
been there. And it's just kind of interesting that this

(26:30):
would be the year that people are are like freaking
out or whoever they are that are freaking out over
Michigan stealing signs much.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
Man, if.

Speaker 5 (26:42):
Mike Yoursich doesn't allow Drew Aller to open things up downfield,
I'm gonna go nuts. And I'm probably it's probably gonna
come in the form of text messages to you, LeVar,
or if we're gonna be watching this together, you're probably
gonna be somewhere else.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
I'm calling the game, so I'll be in there.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
So then it's gonna come via a flurry of text
messages to you, and I'll be very very and it's
not because because any rooting interest. It's like I said before,
it's it's it's like watching you know, someone.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
Have a ferrari all right and instead ride their bike around.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
You're like, dude, take the ferrari out of the garage,
all right, take it for a spin.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
See how much fun that is? Man?

Speaker 5 (27:23):
I know you like to ride the bike. Better for
the environment all that. Take the ferrari out everyone.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
All right? Like, just let the young man toss the
football rounde. That's all I want to see.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Hey, listen, I I'm I'm excited to see what they
do because I think that everyone around here. The feeling
I get is everyone is aware of what's at stake
and and everybody hears what's being discussed. And that's one
of the main topics of conversation. So I think there's

(27:57):
something to staying true to to the identity that that
you're building. Because I'm not with these guys every day,
I don't know what what the idea of or what
the approach the methodology of what what yours.

Speaker 4 (28:11):
Is thinking and how he's approaching it.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
I just I know that they were looser and and
they were were much more in my opinion, open to
taking taking shots and being more aggressive. I don't know
if that was drew or if that was by design,
but they looked really impressive against Maryland last I thought

(28:36):
it was going to be a tougher game, a much
closer game, but they overwhelmed Maryland and and so I
feel like coming out of a game like that, they
really really have the confidence that I believe it's necessary
to be able to go into a game, which, by
the way, is at home. I think they're going to
be tough to be at home. I really do. I

(28:58):
think you'll be. I think you'll be happy be with
If you're looking at it from that perspective, I think
you'll be. I'm hoping you'll be happy with what you see,
but I'm hoping I'm going to be happy with what
I see as well.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
Here's the final thing I'll ask Jonas.

Speaker 5 (29:13):
Yeah, last time I checked, and you can let us
know what DraftKings has it now, But I think it
was what for four and a half Penn State was
getting at home?

Speaker 7 (29:21):
That's correct?

Speaker 4 (29:22):
Which way you lanning there, sir?

Speaker 7 (29:25):
Gotta go Michigan.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
I got I just because I feel like I need
to see something from Penn State on a big stage
against either Ohio State or Michigan before I'm ready to
buy in. And I think Michigan's pissed off. I think
they're motivated. I think they're going to come out and
they're going to have something for Penn State based on
all the reports and the allegations, the reckless allegations against them.

Speaker 7 (29:52):
That's how I feel about it.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
Well, I mean I found not to be offensive that
that they have to prove it. I mean that's the
cent means of a lot of people that are even
within the Penn State community that it has to be proven.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
But that's football.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
I mean, there shouldn't be any reason to be offended
by that or to run away from that challenge.

Speaker 4 (30:12):
That's a lot of fuel.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
What I want to know is is weather going to
impact the game? I'm seeing temps around forty degrees and
the total on the game is at forty five, right,
So that's where we're at. So I just wonder, are
we going to see a low scoring game? Because if
we see a low scoring game, wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
That I don't say weather isn't going to have any
impact on it. Weather it's not going to have any
impact on this game. It's going to be it's not
going to be warm, warm, but it's not going to
be bad weather. It's going to be dry. And both
of these teams are cold weather teams, so this isn't
even a cold weather game. This is it's going to
be cold for you know, the civilians watching, but it's

(30:50):
not going to be cold for these players. So I
don't think weather's going to play a part in it,
not at all all, right, Yanna.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
So now LeVar, you're calling the game for radio with
t J Reeves, former Fox Sports radio host.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
It's here. It's actually someone else. I thought it was
TJ's someone.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
I'm called earlier this year.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
I said you were in two games together, But yeah,
you already did one together, didn't you.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Yes, So you're you're calling the game. Now, let's let's
play this out. The game ends around what do we
think a little before four pm Eastern time? Like that's
what we're looking at. Like, at what point are you
walking through the doors of Cafe two ten with a
LeVar Island in your hand?

Speaker 7 (31:30):
After that game? What are you think of?

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Like?

Speaker 7 (31:32):
Around six?

Speaker 3 (31:33):
See I do a Stick City tailgate though, So I'll
be at the Spike Stadium where the baseball team, the
minor league baseball team is I'll be there before and
I will be there after, and it will not be
a pretty sight, just one way or the other. And
I guarantee this win or lose, I will still celebrate

(31:55):
my team, my school or lois. Yeah, it will not
be a pretty sight. I'm just I'm saving up for
this one. I'm drinking a lot of water, all kinds
of stuff. Gator rades, you know what you're getting, like
ivs too. Yes, I probably will get one on Friday night.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
Yeah, I love it. I will get an ivy slay Man.
Better be proactive than reactive, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
Yeah, And you know because I will need my toes
and my ankles hurting because I didn't take care of
myself and.

Speaker 7 (32:25):
Take some element packs.

Speaker 4 (32:27):
You know those are great. I'm ready to go. Man.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Right now, we welcome in our guy, Albert Breer, senior
NFL reporter at the MMQB. You can get them on
X or Twitter, whatever you want to call it at
Albert Breer, Albert, good morning.

Speaker 7 (32:56):
How are we feeling good?

Speaker 10 (32:58):
Good? How you guys doing.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
We're good.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
We're just trying to figure out why you know, Ohio
State is trying to sabotage Michigan.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
Man.

Speaker 4 (33:06):
That's you know, that's been a conversation.

Speaker 10 (33:10):
The fense in this one.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
LeVar, I hate y'all equally trying.

Speaker 10 (33:15):
To trying to try trying to support you guys this week, you.

Speaker 5 (33:18):
Know, Alberta, Albert, I think I can anticipate what you're
going to say. You're probably going to say, oh, this
is just a smoke screen or whatever else. But what
do you think about the allegations that Michigan said, Hey,
we've got screen grabs and pictures of other schools in
the Big Ten who have stolen our signals.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
Here's the proof. I mean, how do you take that news?

Speaker 10 (33:41):
That sounds like when you get in trouble in third
grade and you point to somebody else and say, see,
he was doing it too. You know, no one likes
to snitch.

Speaker 5 (33:52):
Well, once you say Michigan started, like everyone started snitching
on Michigan first I mean, I'm using your own argument here, Albert.
I'm just I'm asking the question.

Speaker 10 (34:02):
I mean, I like, I don't know. I mean, I
guess what were the rumors out there that one of
Michigan zones missed on them? That's what I thought.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
I think that's what Ohio State fans thought.

Speaker 10 (34:11):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I don't know that was what
was floating around out there. I'm just telling you what
I heard, Brady.

Speaker 7 (34:16):
Yeah, wow, listen.

Speaker 5 (34:18):
I mean the good thing is we get the game
coming up, like not only this week Penn State Michigan,
but then Michigan Ohio State.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
I mean, I guess my question is gonna be wild.

Speaker 10 (34:26):
I mean, Wilson, this is gonna be wild with all
of the bleep talking back and forth. Like I actually
think I've been pretty level about this, don't you, guys.
I mean I've really matured. I I've handled this like
very above board, and I would say the last month,
but I don't say something.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
Oh wow, here we go.

Speaker 5 (34:43):
Yeah, I just I don't know. I mean, do you
think this makes the case though? If Michigan wins for
a third straight year, though, it'll be blamed on this
and so maybe like Ohio State fans would give Ryan
Day a pass.

Speaker 10 (34:55):
I'm not gonna like, I'm not gonna project how my
where my emotions are gonna be a November twenty six
full early for that. But uh yeah, you know, like
I said, I just trying to handle all of this
above board, Brady.

Speaker 4 (35:06):
I'm not answer the question.

Speaker 10 (35:08):
I mean, there's like there's like an I think there
was like an old MSNBC host that was kind of
un edged on Twitter, and you know, I I just
you know, I don't think, uh don't, don't don't. I
don't want to conduct myself that way. I'm just like,
I think November twenty six, my emotions could be in
a number of different places. I'd hate to pin myself
down to one thing.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
Very Albert, that's a very measured approach.

Speaker 6 (35:31):
Yeah, that's what you got to play this thing.

Speaker 10 (35:33):
That's what I'm known for, Jonas. That's what I'm known
for is being measured.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
I listen, I get it's almost like you're a lead
content strategist. It's it's almost like you've got that sort
of title.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Hey, Albert, I got to ask you because we were
discussing just in regards to this awful game coming up
later on tonight.

Speaker 6 (35:50):
Could these coaches?

Speaker 2 (35:51):
Could these coaches find themselves on the hot seed? And
I guess we don't even have to just look at
it as these two, but just in general around the league,
now that we're in the second half of the season,
which coaches can you identify that you believe maybe coaching
for their jobs down the stretch?

Speaker 10 (36:07):
Yeah, I mean, I certainly think. You know, Chicago is
one place that a lot of people have their eyes
on and looking at it and saying, could there be
some change. There's obviously a staff issue early in the
year with the defensive coordinator, you know, so you know,
as it cheff ever flues, you know, what they what
they take the GM out to. I've heard like Kevin

(36:28):
Moore might be looking to get a little bit more
involved in football as a team president. So that's something
to watch there too.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
You know.

Speaker 10 (36:37):
Washington, I think is the obvious one that everybody's been
looking at for a while now. And that's like it's
not even like really about Ron Rivera. It's about there
being new ownership there and maybe new ownership wanting to
bring in their own people. You know, history tells us
that almost always a new owner within a year or
two is going to clean the place out and bring

(36:57):
in his own people. So that'd be another one, you know,
and then I like, I think Caroline is one that's
like sort of on the radar just in that. Again,
it's like relates ownership where David Tepper isn't real pleased
with more things have been over his first five years
in charge, and he's very, very involved and like I know,

(37:19):
you know, some people inside that place over the last
few years have felt like it's really hard on people, rightfully,
so it's his team. You know, he can conduct himself
out he wants. But you know, certainly I think a
lot of Frank Reich's future there and you know, may
not be fair after a year, but a lot of
like how you know, David Tepper sees Frank Reich is

(37:41):
gonna be relative to how how Bryce Young plays down
the stretch and does Bryce Young look like he's getting
better and you know, fair or not, how does Bryce
Young look in relation to how CJ. Strouds looks in Houston.
I think those are all questions to be asked. And obviously,
as you guys know, these standalone games can have a
real fat too. Again, that's like one of those things

(38:02):
that may not be fair, but you know, the Thursday night,
the Sunday night, the Monday night games. A lot of times,
if you come out and you look bad on a
national stage, you can have, you know, sort of a
bigger effect than a normal loss at one o'clock on
a Sunday would.

Speaker 5 (38:16):
Yeah, crazy, how they're not build equal that way. I
want to ask you about the New York Jets situation.
It sounds like, you know, Robert Sola front office, maybe
they're not on the same page in regards to what's
happened with Zach Wilson, whether that's for the rest this
year or after this year. It seems like there's just
kind of some I don't know if it's miscommunication or
just odd answers to some of the questions what's going

(38:38):
on there?

Speaker 10 (38:39):
Yeah, you know, Brady, I think I think Roberts. Roberts
logic on this whole thing was if they benched Zack
Wilson again, they can't go back, you know. And so
it's it's about how well Zack Wilson plays. But it's
also like you've already messed with the kids' development enough
over the over the first two years, of his career,

(38:59):
and Zach supposed to put himself there right, but he's
also he's been yo yoed in and out of the
lineup so much that once you take him out of
the lineup again, it's going to be really hard to
sell him back to that locker room, is the answer,
And that's why it really comes down to what's behind him.
It's do you think that Tim Boyle or Trevor Simeon

(39:19):
can be your answer for the next eight or nine
weeks or however long it takes, until you know Aaron
Rodgers could come back and they could get back in
the lineup, And are those guys good enough to put
yourself in a position where you're still contending, because obviously
he's not going to push himself back out there if
you're out of the race. So as much as anything else,
Robert Sola's logic here, I think is twofold. It's one,

(39:43):
you know that you know once you go away from
Zach Wilson again, it's probably gonna be really really hard
to have to go back. And then two, what you
have behind him isn't great And look like you're gonna
ask the questions a fair one. Should they have been
in on Josh Dobbs, right, you know, I know they've
kicked tires on guys like Colt McCoy, you know, like
so are their answers out there? Maybe, But based on

(40:05):
what's on their roster right now, you can see where
it's like, okay, like we're going to ride our defense
and hopefully Zach can make a few throws in the
fourth quarter. I can understand why the coaches would two.
That is a better answer than going with Tim Boyle
or Trevis me.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
I'm gonna hit you with one A B and this
might be far out, but let's let's let's see how
you handle it. Your San Francisco forty nine ers are
staring four losses in a row right in the face.
Is there any conversation bubbling up about Purty and and

(40:41):
and this San Francisco team and what what what's next
if they go four losses.

Speaker 4 (40:47):
In a row?

Speaker 10 (40:49):
Not right now, because I think Kyle has a lot
of confidence and it sounds like this is a test
for far when you said less, come on, yeah, you
know I do here, Yeah, I I I think Kyle's
got confidence in Brock and I, you know, as much
as as fun as the idea of throwing Sam out there,
it would be you know, I do think that there

(41:09):
is still confidence in what Brock can be now. I
think this becomes a different conversation if they get Trent
Williams back in the lineup and Deebo Samuel back in
the lineup and it still doesn't look good, right, But
I would argue Trent Williams, who they've played without the
last few weeks, is probably their most dispensive and indispensable
player on the entire roster, just based on what's behind him,

(41:32):
how hard it is to replace left tackle like I
think he'd be. He's the guy that they could least
to force four to lose. So they lost him for
a few weeks, and they've been without Deebo Samuel, who
is so important to what they do offensively and helped
free them up to do different things with Christian McCaffrey
do so, you know, I think it was predictable that it.

(41:52):
You know, there was a little bit of a step
back from Brock Perry, from Brock Purdy there when those
two guys went out of the lineup. So I don't
think that conversations happening in San Francisco, right now, I
do think it becomes a different thing if you get
Trent Williams back in there and Deebo Samuel back in there,
and and Broxville isn't playing well. But I didn't they
expect that he's going to take a step back.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
Forward with those two guys back in the line, Albert,
Before I let you go, I got to ask you, uh,
you know, watching c J. Stroud and Baker Mayfield go
back and forth last week and seeing c J. Stroud
out dual Baker Mayfield, did you get personal joy out
of that? Knowing Baker Mayfield's history at the Horseshoe in Columbus, Like,
did you get like that make you feel a certain way?

Speaker 10 (42:35):
I mean, I just I just felt good that CJ
wasn't getting cheated out of the wind, you know.

Speaker 4 (42:40):
Like oh wow, oh wow.

Speaker 10 (42:44):
Well, I mean, I mean, I I you know, I
guess the criticism CJ coming out of college now has
to pivots and two when the other team has its
plays right.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
Oh geez, oh wow, board though, Albert, Well.

Speaker 10 (43:00):
I think just having fun with you guys, hey, look
like I I would say this, like I I am.
I was blown away by the way that he played
down the stretch of that game, Like I I don't know,
like as much as we've talked about him, and I'm
surprised to see it this early in his career too,
Like I did not see this coming, you know, like

(43:20):
the drive of the degree of difficulty and the drive
at the end of that game and the two throws
that he made the Tank Dell and kind of what
went into those throws. I've been able to talk to
some people there and some people on staff and went
into that how he kind of saw like lazy coverage
in the backside from Tampa and took advantage of it

(43:41):
on the twenty sixth yarder to Tank. And you know,
just the degree of difficulty of what he pulled off
at the end of that game was very, very high
for a rookie. And I'm sure Brady can speak to that.
I mean, I I was, I was really really impressed
with what I saw at the end of that game.

Speaker 5 (43:56):
Yeah, I already said the offensive rookie of the Year,
it's over you to play another snap the rest of
the year, and you should still get it.

Speaker 10 (44:03):
I mean, I got I'm doing a poll of executives
right now midseason awards and I've got twenty six ballots
in this is like general Manager's Assistant GMS like those
types of people, and other twenty six ballots CJ's Offensive
Rookie of the Year. On every one of them, there's
one split vote, so pookin the I've got half a
vote from one personnel.

Speaker 4 (44:23):
But it's not even close. It's not even close.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
Yeah, I know, I know, So tell Less need stop
having bias for his own guy and just vote vote
