All right, got do we have the whole band back
to get Eddie's back from vacation?
Speaker 5 (01:50):
Yeah, Daddy, Eddie, I believe Iowa.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
Sam calls him now after his bathroom situation over his vacation.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Wait what you gotta listen to the Ben Maller Show.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Dead Bolt ed, dead Bolt Ahead. He's got a bunch
of nicknames. Dead bolt ed. I've never heard that one.
H he had a little mishappened in New York City bathroom. Yeah, Eddie,
if you would like to, I don't even know if
he's listening here. Well, we will get the details.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
That's actually what Yes, that's actually what the woman said, Eddie.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Eddie, what they're calling you? Dead bolt ed? Now what happened?
Speaker 6 (02:30):
Well, I was at a I went on vacation in
New York. I was at a very nice restaurant and
I went to the restroom. It was one of those
unisex restrooms, right. Oh, So I pushed the button to
lock the door, and apparently that lock did not work,
and uh, a very nice older lady walked into the.
Speaker 7 (02:52):
She said, my goodness, New York City. I love you.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
He says, all the cash and prizes offices, Oh.
Speaker 8 (03:00):
Oh, my goodness.
Speaker 7 (03:02):
But she didn't closed the door. She did just the south.
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (03:07):
I didn't ask her where she was from, though, but
she was. She was waiting outside the door when I
when I.
Speaker 7 (03:13):
Uh came, she was said, uh, what is your name?
Speaker 5 (03:18):
Sir?
Speaker 6 (03:18):
I said, sorry, man, that you see that? And she said,
is ain't nothing. I've never seen before.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Yeah, She's like, I didn't know they let you bring
a thermos in.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
Dude, damn boat locks, don't.
Speaker 8 (03:35):
You in this case?
Speaker 1 (03:38):
No, I guess Eddie, if you think about it, it's
kind of I guess the receipt for the one time
you walked into the bathroom here and somebody didn't lock
this day that that was?
Speaker 8 (03:49):
That was Yeah, and he was he was not standing.
He was seated seated on the.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
Which which is worse to be seated or standing?
Speaker 3 (03:59):
I mean, I think, yeah, seen, it is a little
bit more compromising, is that because they move quicker? Well,
you can't move you're in the bathroom, like, you're not
the one moving.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
Well, but think about it.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
If you're standing, you could actually move quicker if you
had to move. If you're sitting, you're just totally I
stand what you're saying, But why are you moving? You're
the one that's in the bathroom. Yeah, but I'm just saying,
what what if they were trying to jack you or
pull you know, whatever?
Speaker 5 (04:28):
You're missing. You're missing the point.
Speaker 7 (04:31):
I'm not saying totally in there jump you.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Yeah, I'm totally saying, would you rather be caught standing
up or sitting?
Speaker 5 (04:39):
Down. Yeah, I get it. I get what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
I would rather be standing somebody's gonna asking for help. Hey,
whatever it is, I need to be able to move.
If you're sitting down, that's you're just no options if
I if I'm sitting down, I'm probably more relaxed.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
Right, you're just kind of waving. I'm using.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
Yeah, Well I just happen to you, so you probably yeah, yeah, yeah,
Well you know, I thought it was funny.
Speaker 8 (05:07):
Actually story, I was really I gotta be honest. I
wasn't really embarrassed. I thought that was kind of funny
and she was cool to do. So you know, when win,
you go. Now we all got a good story.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Well, yeah, there it is. Well, it's good to have
you back, and it's good to have back going back.
And I got to tell you it's good to have
the NFL back later on tonight because they are in
the mood for some bad football. Boy. Oh boy is
Amazon I'm gonna deliver.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
For a Michaels. He's gonna he's gonna be so frustrating.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
I'm not kidding. He should really do the show from Gibson's, Like,
just say screw it. I can get a steak here,
I can call the game. Just make sure I've got
a decent feed, and then let me just hang out
here so I don't have to go sit at Soldier
Field and watch two of the worst teams in the
league battle out. I would love to know what the
number is on this game as far as people be
viewing it and people watching I would love to know
(06:03):
how soon we'll be able to get that, if that's
even possible.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
With Let's talk big picture though about the matchup, because
neither of these teams are playoff teams unless you're Jonas
Knox and you picked the Bears to to go to
the playoffs before.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
The reckless allegation. I don't believe that actually took Lee.
Speaker 5 (06:18):
Can we confirm that, Jonas did?
Speaker 1 (06:22):
I think Lee was siphoning vodka to somebody's gas tank
in the parking Mighty made that up. I don't want
weld card team. I'm looking at it right now.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
All right, did vodka a gas tanking?
Speaker 5 (06:34):
No? I did not.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
I just listened, Sam, what car is run on vodka?
Speaker 5 (06:42):
I want to know.
Speaker 8 (06:43):
I want to own this car.
Speaker 9 (06:45):
Talk about least Chevy Malby runs on vodka.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Listen, you don't have a breathalyzer that just let you.
Thanks screws, you can started up. Yeah, yeah, look, not
not an ideal pick before the year, But here we are.
We're Week ten, and somehow, some way, the Chicago Bears
are a three point favorite at home against the krummy
Carolina Panthers. And there could be some changes after this
(07:10):
season based on how these two these two teams are
playing thus far.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
You think so.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Frank Reich should not feel comfortable with his job, with
David Tepper having to have weekly meetings, him having to
give up play calling duties, all that stuff. I still
think he most likely keeps the gig. But based on
everything that David Tepper has done as an owner there,
and you can ask, you know, you can ask Levar's
(07:36):
guy in Nebraska, why am I blanket on his name?
Speaker 3 (07:39):
That rule?
Speaker 1 (07:40):
You can ask him how that went. I just feel
like Frank Reich's got to be looking at this going.
I got to show some sort of growth or progress
down the stretch just to feel a little bit more
comfortable like he can keeping the gig. That's how it
feels to me.
Speaker 5 (07:55):
LeVar.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Do you think, well, I guess I'll taste this way.
Oh you have an offensive minded head coach who takes
over for the first overall pick, and then he basically
demotes himself as a play caller to their name Doc.
Now Thomas Brown's taken over, Like is that enough if
(08:16):
the season continues this way for you to as an
owner to be like, yeah, this isn't the right guy then.
Speaker 5 (08:22):
You know.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
And then he talked about the meetings that he was
having with the owner and the constant meetings, and then
made it a point to highlight how hands on the
owner is. I just think that the signs on the
wall definitely are saying exit, you know, or go and
not meaning go as in like go get it and
(08:44):
get it done, as in go as and go home.
Speaker 5 (08:47):
We do not need you anymore.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
So I think if he wants to keep his job,
he certainly right certainly needs to show that Bryce Young
can be an NFL quarderback successful and that Carolina is
trending in the right direction. Now, that doesn't have to
come in my estimation, It doesn't have to come so
(09:10):
much in their wins and losses. I just think it
has to come in the way that they're playing, if
they're playing inspired football, if they're if they look like
things are coming together, you know the continuity, then maybe
there's a chance. But it doesn't look good. It doesn't
look good.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
This is a must win for the Bears, and I'll
tell you why not because I think Matt Eberflus might
be in trouble as well too. But also, the Bears
hold the panthers number one pick. They've got to ensure
that this pick gets worse and worse for Carolina so
they can have an opportunity to draft a quarterback. And
right now Arizona's got the first pick. If you can
(09:52):
hand an l to Carolina, which is only going to
benefit you in the long run. This is the most
important game for the Chicago Bears since they're super team.
And I'm gonna say it right now tonight you want
a reason to watch. Must win for the Chicago Bears
if they want to fix the quarterback problem and have
some hope of drafting one of these guys like a
Caleb Williams, Levar's guy who shows passion and emotion that
(10:14):
he's going to bring the soldier field.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
Let's let's not go down that route.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Let's continue the conversation though about like is god iebraflu safe,
because that's one where you look at and say, if
you are going to draft a quarterback that high, don't
you want him to be in a scenario where he's
got a head coach and he's got an organization that's
got optimism and stability and not because the problem is
you draft that guy and you keep Eberflus, you're almost saying, like,
(10:39):
all right, if things don't work out, well, he's the problem.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
I gotta get a new head coach.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
Like he almost feels like he'd be a lame duck
in some ways with the way this season's gone and
maybe even last season to a degree.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
Yeah, yeah, I agree, Yeah, So I just I.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Don't know, but I do think it's interesting if you
look at these two teams. The Bears obviously are the
team that gave away the draft picks two care lineup
to get Bryce Young.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
Now we're seeing what that looks like.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
And then the Bears might be in that very spot
this upcoming draft, depending on how things work out.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
And you got former Carolina Panthers DJ Moorete Deonta Foreman
who's there as well too, So at least there's a
little bit of, you know, some some stuff going on
there as far as seeing your exes and seeing your
former team and seeing how this soul plays out. But nonetheless,
this is probably going to be an awful game, probably
going to be a bad football game.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
Oh, you're taking the unders. So what we're saying?
Speaker 1 (11:32):
What are we looking at on the under? It's three?
So the under would be right now, thirty eight and
a half, thirty eight and a half. No, the Bears
are a three point favorite, so it's thirty eight and
a half. Yeah, I mean, if if either team gets
to twenty points, they should count it as two wins.
I'll just put it that way. And Tyson Pagent is
(11:52):
starting at quarterback, so I.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
Don't know that their fan base once got his two wins,
they probably want to win, but they probably want to
have been a good draft position for next year, right yeah,
Because if the draft was to take place tomorrow, Bears
would have the number one pick, and then it would
be what the Panthers?
Speaker 5 (12:08):
After that, Well, the next team.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Arizona would have the number one pick right.
Speaker 5 (12:11):
Now, Okay, so Arizona, then what Bears?
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Carolina's got it, and then Chicago and then you.
Speaker 5 (12:17):
Wipe the Giants. Chicago has their picks.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
H So that's why I think it's a must win
for the Chicago Bears. They've got to win this game.
You've got to ensure this pick. It's worse and worse
for Carolina.
Speaker 5 (12:28):
Sounds funny, Sam, it must win for one of these teams.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
It is. It's about Hole trying to win.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
That's a little overstated.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Most important win, most important game in the last thirty
something years of the Bears. I telling you right now tonight,
that's how important this game is. Forget the Super Bowl
and seven.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
Yeah, I just wonder if Bryce Young is going to
bounce back. I mean, two weeks ago he gets his
first win. Wasn't great, but it was that kind of
showdown versus CJ. Stroud in Houston last week.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
C J.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
Stroud puts on the performance maybe of the year, not
only as a rookie but any quarterback, and Bryce has
his worst games as a professional quarterback. It's just it
was it was quite the contrast, like on that day
to have like and and to think, all right, it's
Carolina building towards something. Do they continue to take off
from here? And it like it felt like it could
(13:22):
only get worse. And so now short week this is
like that opportunity to kind of redeem yourself against the
defense that I guess you says, you know, playing a
little better obviously to get Montes sweat.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
Who's gonna help in that regard?
Speaker 4 (13:33):
But I don't know, man, they just lack firepower. The
offense just doesn't feel like it has any bite to it.
Speaker 5 (13:39):
You know.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
It almost feels like they could use DJ Moore and
Christian McCaffrey like.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Pieces that would make a dramatic difference based on how
this team has played so far.
Speaker 5 (13:51):
Gummy bears. Gummy bears don't have teeth, you know, also
that the bears don't have the bite, that's what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
But it was called the Gummy Bears, not the Chicago Bears.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
What was the We talked about it on the show
a few months ago. The little interesting tidbit that the
green gummy bear is actually is it strawberry?
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Is that the I don't know the flavor, but it
isn't what you would think it is, which I don't
know what what you think green is.
Speaker 5 (14:21):
That's always like, I think it's like green apple or
sour apple.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
No, I think it's strawberry lime.
Speaker 5 (14:28):
I've never heard of lime Sam, you think it's.
Speaker 9 (14:30):
Well, no, I'm saying some green candies are lime flavor,
like uh, like skittles or lime.
Speaker 5 (14:37):
Yeah, that's but you can't get anymore.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
So you can still get him out here.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
That's contraband now it will be I think, but on
the black market it's the dies.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
They don't want the dies in the candy out here.
Speaker 5 (14:47):
Because besides that, Gavinderson, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
The state decided somehow. You don't want to you don't
want to mess up your mask, so you want to
get rid of that die as soon as you can. Well,
they have found that those dyes are not good for you,
so bad for you, bad for kid especially. But it
is strawberry flavored. It's not lime or green apple.
Speaker 7 (15:04):
Hey, Brady, who knew?
Speaker 5 (15:07):
What was it?
Speaker 7 (15:08):
Watermelon?
Speaker 1 (15:08):
No, it's strawberry. Strawberry.
Speaker 5 (15:12):
Though.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
That's so confusing because I would literally probably take all
of the greens out thinking that it would be a
flavor I wouldn't like, and meanwhile it would be strawberry
and that would be amazing.
Speaker 5 (15:23):
Ha. Lee, you're probably a Skittles guy, aren't you.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
No, No, I'm not really. I'm not a big sweets guy.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
Huh he Lee, that's surprising.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
The sweets guy's got it.
Speaker 5 (15:36):
He's gotta be a little stronger. Are you more like
a chocohol in it? No, you're more like chocolate.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
What do you mean, you stupid? Stupid I helped you.
I helped you back all of you stupid Lee. So
so go ahead and knock it out of the park.
You was about to talk about candy, Brady Quinn was
talking about can't Yeah, I got it, Jenkins.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Big chocolate e guy.
Speaker 5 (16:10):
Yeah, they get it.
Speaker 10 (16:12):
And you know what shocks people most about strawberry being green,
it's because the red. You would think the red would
be strawberry, but it's actually raspberry.
Speaker 7 (16:20):
Yeah, cherry raspberry, cherry candy ferry.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
I was, Sam, Do you just eat a bunch of candy?
Is that why you know all this?
Speaker 9 (16:28):
In the last few days they've been bringing people have
been bringing a lot of Halloween candy, and it's the
most I've ever eaten candy, like all year.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Like it's we're gonna have to come back with sex
and candy by Marcy.
Speaker 7 (16:39):
Whoa, man, it's a great song.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Then like a bad song. I'm just letting you know
what's coming.
Speaker 8 (16:44):
Second.
Speaker 5 (16:45):
Okay, let's go. We know where you're head? Is that
right now?
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Well listen, we know where your heads are gonna be
at for the next three hours. It's going to be
listening to this show here because it is Two Pros
and a Cup of Joe on Fox Sports Radio. We've
got the usuals. We've got in case you missed it.
We've got some over unders looking at it to tonight's game.
We've also got you any you out. Albert Breer is
gonna stop by. We'll get his thoughts on the on
the Michigan scandal because some things have changed with that.
(17:08):
We'll have more details on that throughout the course of
the show. Well, you know, people are getting expressed.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
Is he the insider for that?
Speaker 1 (17:16):
It's fun to get his thoughts on that whole.
Speaker 5 (17:18):
He's very passionate in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
Yeah, very passionate about it. But all of that is
yours until nine am Eastern time, six o'clock Pacific. Up next, though,
we are going to discuss somebody in the NFL who
found out the hard way that it's business first and
everything else second. We'll explain next here on FSR.
Speaker 11 (17:37):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 8 (17:51):
He's Mike Carmen, I'm Dan Bayern.
Speaker 12 (17:53):

That's right, Dan.
Speaker 13 (18:11):
Every week we're gonna scour the waiver wire to find
the pickups to turbo boost your fantasy lineup, sit starts,
fantasy football players rankings to get you ready to dominate
the competition.

me Dan Beyer on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts and
wherever you get your podcasts.
Speaker 5 (18:30):
It really is and the video is funny as hell.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Right Jesus, this song might be worse than the matchup
tonight in the NFL. Just Tough to Do It is
two pros and a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radioar Arrington,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here coming up later
(19:03):
on this hour about twenty minutes from now here from
the Tairaq dot com studios. We have potentially a thief
in the NFL and it's one of the best teams
in the league. We'll explain why that is coming up
here and about twenty minutes from now here on FSR.
So there is a little bit of history that's taken
place in the National Football League this weekend. Tommy DeVito, Hey,
(19:28):
Tommy DeVito, Hey, are you.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Doing heyy, So he's gonna get.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
He's going to get the start. He's going to get
the start at Dallas this week. Matt Barkley's getting signed
off the practice squad. So that'll make the tenth rookie
quarterback to start a game this season, which is an
NFL record, which beat the previous record, which I believe
was in twenty nineteen. So we've seen ten rookie quarterbacks
(20:00):
starting this year in the NFL.
Speaker 5 (20:02):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Yeah, that's cool. You know, somebody's got to step up
and one of those.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
Guys, yeah, you know, so I gotta step up because
life knocked some of us down.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
Just don't get back up. You know, some of us
gotta step up.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
You know, I feel bad for Daniel all right, listen,
So Daniel Jones just lost his season and blows out
his knee, and it's not been a good year. And
yeah he got paid in the off season and all that,
but you know, he probably wanted to get through the
year healthy. That would have been a goal of his.
And so now it's over and Tommy DeVito is gonna be.
Speaker 7 (20:37):
The guy and so like over as in over like.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Over for the season.
Speaker 7 (20:41):
Okay, and then.
Speaker 5 (20:43):
What are you do moving forward with him? But go ahead,
go ahead.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
But so the media asked him yesterday and like, think
about this guy just his season just ended because of injury.
And this is the question that Daniel Jones has to
field yesterday.
Speaker 10 (20:59):
What do you think about a early chatter here that
the Giants are going to draft a quarterback.
Speaker 11 (21:03):
High that your days here as a starter are done?
Speaker 1 (21:06):
How does that.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Sit with you?
Speaker 14 (21:08):
Like I said, you know, I'm focused on on what
I'm doing, what I'm doing right now, and what I
can control what's in front of me, and that's this
rehab process my knee, you know, healing that up and
then doing everything I can to help this team.
Speaker 5 (21:20):
You know, finish strong and play well.
Speaker 14 (21:22):
So that's what I'm focused on, and you know, I'm
excited to watch these guys finish up.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Hey, Daniel, tough break man. So how's it feel to
know that it's over and they're going to draft a quarterback?
What's that like?
Speaker 5 (21:32):
I need? Come on, dude, that's the media, that's that's
that's the New York media, York medium.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
Yeah, come on, well we've all we've been there, We've
dealt with that. People are going to ask those questions.
And look, it takes you know, balls, obviously for the
reported to be able to ask that, you know, to
a guy who just you know, towards a c L
which lacks a little compassion. But the reality is people
are asking about people we are talking about contractually is
(21:57):
not going anywhere next year, you know, I mean the
dead cat number for him if they want to release
him is around seventy million. He you know, is pretty
actually economical for a starter if the Giants still view
him as that. And I think what could potentially happen
is the Giants under position to draft a quarterback to
eventually be the guy. And you see Daniel Jones a
(22:18):
la Alex Smith, Patrick Mahomes, you know, kind of take
over and be the starter for that season once he's
back healthy, which you know nowadays. The tough thing is
he's torn in November. He'd have to be on an
accelerated path to be able to get back in time
for the start of the season. Given one is athleticism,
Daniel Jones does like to take off and run. But
two usually they're pretty patient with this stuff. I mean
(22:41):
Kyler Murray who was now activated to come back. It's
you know, it's going to be about when did he tear.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
His last year week fourteen December.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
So he'll be a little ahead of that twelve month period.
But they're much more patient with guys coming back from ACL.
Speaker 5 (22:56):
So if they the hard thing is if they do.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
Plan on keeping Daniel Jones and not trading him to
move on or cutting him and taking a huge hit
to their dead cab, you'd think that he, I guess
could try to race to get back in time, but
only subject himself to potential injuring himself again. Or maybe
it is gonna be the rookie that starts and takes
(23:19):
over next year if.
Speaker 5 (23:20):
They go that route.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
But he signed a four year deal and they restructured
it right before the season when it was really a
one year deal. Now it became a two year deal.
So he's gonna be on the roster next year. He's
gonna be a part of this team. I have a
hard time imagining there's gonna be a gigantic trade market
for him, and I can't imagine they're gonna cut him,
given how much they would be havingainst the dead cab.
Speaker 7 (23:44):
Well.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
I just think Daniel Jones is correct. Focus in on
your health, focus in on what is controllable to you.
You got your contract, so you got a couple of
coins to rub together, as as some feel good type
of you know, wins and what took place, and the
(24:07):
rest is what it is. I mean, I think it's
the verdict is already in and it's a guilty verdict
of Daniel Jones is not the guy for the job
in New York. I mean, that's if anybody, you know,
if people want to maybe dance around it or you
know whatever, but it's it's just.
Speaker 5 (24:25):
Not dancing around I.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Never thought I'm not saying your dad, oh, I would
have said, Brady, if you're if you want to dance
around it, you know me, I'm not going to say you,
but I'm not going to be a ten dollars fine
guy and say people and I'm talking about you, I say,
you're dancing around it.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
But I think dancing quinn.
Speaker 5 (24:45):
I think he's talking about you.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
People dance around it, and you know, there's no real
reason to dance around that topic of conversation anymore. And
that's why I think in the end, it's like if
I'm if I'm New York Media. Sure there's the idea
of being considerate or having a tabit of compassion or
you know, empathy or sympathy towards the injury and asking
(25:10):
how he's feeling. But in the end, you know, we
want the guy to be healthy. Nobody wants anybody to
be unhealthy. I think that's a given. The point of
the matter here is, let's get down to business. You're
not going to be the starting quarterback here next year,
and so what do you think is next for you?
I mean, that's ultimately what it comes down to.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
Is it sometimes the worst thing for your franchise when
you have a coach that comes in his first year
and everyone kind of I don't want to say overachieves,
but you make the playoffs, you win some of those
games where the ball bounces your way, maybe get a
little lucky. I mean, I feel like that's what the
Giants were is. It's like, oh, great, we have the playoffs,
but everyone knew they weren't winning a super Bowl, and
(25:53):
then so the expectations are, oh, we have the playoffs
slash year.
Speaker 5 (25:56):
Are we a playoff team? It's like, well, maybe not.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
I never bought it. Look, we had the conversation in
the offseason, and I never bought into the Giants. I said,
they're going to regress if you go back and actually
look at how last season went. Everything to your point,
went their way seemingly. You know, they won the game
playoff game against Minnesota and then got blowed torch by Philly.
Everything went their way.
Speaker 5 (26:18):
Talk about Week one, talk about I mean.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Listen, that's how he got the name dump truck nuts.
I mean, they're playing Tennessee and Titans fans are listening
on the zone. You know how that game went. Brian
dave Ball goes for two, Tennessee made the correct play,
they stopped it, and Saquon Barkley still scored, and then
Tennessee still had an opportunity to kick the field goal
and win, and they missed, and then the rest was history.
(26:41):
He was off and running and the Giants were back.
And I love Brian day Ball. And look, there's some
people that make the argument that maybe that's the missing
piece from Buffalo, that maybe maybe Brian Dayball not being
there is the problem in Buffalo has.
Speaker 5 (26:55):
Turned to night ball. Maybe his coach night ball. Yeah,
good night.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
By the way, I don't know why they the Giants
didn't let Daniel Jones contract situation play itself out, like
you know, between Saquon and Daniel Jones, and I think
the biggest issue was the fact of the position. It's like, well,
it's quarterback. You want to have that solidified, you want
to have that. But you know, when Saquon plays, how
(27:22):
much of a difference he makes in the offense. Get
rid of it, get rid of the tag of running
back position because that's ultimately what I think, you know,
hurt him. But he should have been more of the
focus than Daniel Jones. Where they should have let this
play out for another year. It's not like Daniel Jones
was going anywhere.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Yeah I didn't. I don't know that anybody thought that
was the right move, Like like I just thought I was.
And you remember how it all went because he, you know,
made this deadline, Like there's this deadline and we just
don't I remember talking about it. We were like, all right,
so the deadline's gonna pass and they're probably gonna franchise
and or do whatever they do. And that's fine. But
when your own general manager Joe Shane comes out afterwards
(27:59):
and says, well, look, if we knew what we knew,
then we probably would have just, you know, picked up
the fifth year option. Like when your own GM says, yeah,
you know buyer's remorse immediately after giving him the contract.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
I mean, this is the way it has one year left, right,
This was his It was a one year contract for Saquon.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
Correct, This is a yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
So they've they ended up putting the franchise tag on Saquon,
but they did renegotiate the actual one year deal.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
So he is up again after this show, He's up again.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
Man, if I'm Saquon, I'm looking at them like y'all
either pay me or y'all kick rocks like Big Rock,
Big Old Boulder, Big Old Night Night Ball Rock.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
When do we get to you guys have talked about
this before. At what point in this season for this
team who's awful, When do we get to self preservation mode?
If you're a.
Speaker 7 (28:46):
Player, you're there, You're there, You're already have Thanksgiving.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Yep, they're they're blowing up the life rafts. As the
Titanic starts, it's it's slow sink into the abyss. They're
they're blowing up the life for people are starting to
line up outside. There's a there's a man playing a
violin with the rest of the band as they're starting
to blow the whistle to get everyone on on on
(29:12):
top of the ship before women and children first.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
It's a sad, sad thing.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
Well is on board. There has to be a man
to help all of those people on board.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
He's carrying people the safety.
Speaker 5 (29:28):
Yeah, that's that's but he's off that ship.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Yeah, it feels like it's over. Well, look, I mean
hopefully the Giants at one point in time, you know
knows it. Hopefully they'll graduate up to something different and
from state college you know where there's a graduate hotels
and all week faces on his room key.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
You had to get there. It is five days before
the game, that's right. Make sure, I'm on time. I
was with our quarterbacks club yesterday. That's why I know,
I know, yeah, but yeah, but yeah, I mean at
the way flying works these days, you got to leave
about three four days.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
You know, Mark mark Ingram was here yesterday. He came
in early too. You know he's getting Yeah. Well, he
had an interview to do with the two running Max. Yes, right,
you know you got to get in here early to
do that.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
By the ways, Rob Stone press charges on him yet
or no.
Speaker 5 (30:21):
No, no, It's all part of TV. It's all the
magic of TV in this show.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
Looked like he was a little surprised it went that violent, though, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (30:30):
That's all TV. It's supposed to work.

Speaker 5 (31:57):
Good thing.
Speaker 11 (31:58):
The guys are here to bring you in case.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
You missed it, and for that we turn it over
to our executive producer, Lee.
Speaker 10 (32:08):
Lap Good, Good morning, everybody. Good morning, LeVar, mor Than Brady,
morning Jonas, guys.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
In case you missed this.
Speaker 10 (32:17):
Coming out of their Week nine bye and a three
game loss for the Niners, Cal shan has decided to
make a change.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
That hey, that's right.
Speaker 10 (32:28):
So after three straight losses in their Week nine by
Kyle Shanahan has decided to bring down defensive coordinator Steve
Wilkes from the booth down to.
Speaker 5 (32:35):
The same line.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Hey, Brady, Hey, Lee, the old pull the coordinator and
put him on the sideline. Move stealing it from Pittsburgh. Huh,
that's right, eral class acts.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
Stealing it from Pittsburgh.
Speaker 7 (32:47):
Why is he from the Steelers? From the Steelers?
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Is there some sort of friction between Kyle Shannan and
Steve Wilkes because he has talked about the defense a
couple of times over the past three or four weeks.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
Well, the defense has not been as dominant as they
could be as of late, you know.
Speaker 10 (33:08):
Giving up the Bengals twenty two to the Vikings and
they lost also to the Browns.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
It feels like it's gone public though, which.
Speaker 7 (33:17):
You don't never want relationship problems going public.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
You know that it's the end once, once the relationship
issues hit, the hit the tabloids and the public again,
it's the end.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
It's not salvageable at that point.
Speaker 7 (33:29):
It doesn't end well, ask Caul covid they don't have.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Well, that is true, by the way.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
I mean, here's here's the toughthing. If you're looking at
their spending on their roster, they are spending a little
bit more on their defense as opposed to their offense.
So they're spending about thirty two percent versus about thirty
percent roughly on offense.
Speaker 5 (33:55):
So, uh, they've got pretty UNUS rookie contract. They've had
more injuries on offense.
Speaker 4 (34:03):
I think that's one of those things where like the
offense has at times if you look earlier in the season,
they were sort of blow teams out right, and now
they kind of need their defense to step up this
roster with a lot of the draft picks have been
you know, really on the defensive side of the ball,
especially that defensive front, and so you're kind of saying, like,
(34:24):
come on, man, like this is how we build our team,
build our roster, like we need this to help, you know, we.
Speaker 5 (34:30):
Need some help right now. We need this to hit home.
So I don't know, that's all I kind.
Speaker 8 (34:33):
Of see it.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
Niners are three point favorites at Jacksonville. This Sunday off
to Bill beats them close.
Speaker 7 (34:42):
It just sounds like an upset is in the in
the making. Man.
Speaker 5 (34:45):
But I guess what I'm asking is why is Jacksonville
a three point underdog at home?
Speaker 4 (34:50):
I agree, Oh that's what seems like.
Speaker 5 (34:54):
I mean.
Speaker 7 (34:57):
There, man, look here you Edge and San France having
four in a row.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
Well, and they're both coming off by weeks. So it's
not like they're playing a team who's got the travel
fatigue that Jacksonville could have claim when they were going
back and forth, you know, when they went to London
and then came back and played on a short week.
Like it like this does feel like somebody's got to
know something, because I would have I would have thought
this would have been more closer to a pickup, to
be honest with you, just in the spot.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
So I thought Jacksonville'll be like giving like one maybe
to you. They look they won five in a row.
I granted, not necessarily versus the best in the NFL.
But they did beat Pittsburgh, you know, in Pittsburgh back
back to back wins on the road. They beat Buffalo
in Buffalo, So I don't know. I mean, they played
Kansas City close earlier this year. I just the defense
(35:43):
has been solid. I'm not sure what they saw to
think that they should be a three point underdog at home.
Speaker 7 (35:49):
Yeah, it's gonna be what else motivation, guys?
Speaker 10 (35:53):
In case you miss it, College hoops is obviously tipped
off this week, and one of the highlights so far
has been the opening night for Nevada hosting Sacramento State.
They won that game, but not after delay due to
a bunch of bats that share the arena Lawlor Events
Center in Reno with So they shared the arena with
a bunch of bats. They pause the game, and one
of the best parts about it is Steve Alford talking
(36:14):
about it.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
What the hell are you saying they're sharing arena with
bas So basically the bats were flying around, is what
Lee really wanted to say. No, No, what I want
to understand is, what do you mean they share the
arena with bats?
Speaker 5 (36:26):
Like bats happen to live in there.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
That's right.
Speaker 10 (36:28):
They have a bat problem, is what it is what
they have. In fact, Steve Alford went so far as
to kind of plea for our eradication of said bats.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Take a listen.
Speaker 15 (36:37):
The bat thing is getting pretty embarrassing and it needs
to be fixed. It's uncalled for. We are a big
time basketball program and we shouldn't be dealing with bats.
Speaker 5 (36:50):
We shouldn't have.
Speaker 15 (36:50):
A stoppage of play because we're dealing with diving bats.
How Brooks Barnett kb's son loved it. He think Spider
Man's coming to the next game. So uh, but it's
just it can't happen.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Well, I mean there's two things here for me. One,
his his name is Alfred, and you do know that
that is it's not Alfred.
Speaker 7 (37:19):
I don't even care. It's close enough.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
And and you know what that's that's he is the
assistant of batman for one. Two to why not just
be positive and turn that into a home field advantage,
Like if you got diving bats and you're used to
those diving bats and the other team isn't, then you
got an advantage.
Speaker 5 (37:39):
Use the team did come from a bat or something.
Someone said, I said it was. I gave everybody cold.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
I don't want to flying rats about it. I can't
even see it's all.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
It's all crossing dudes over like you know, so like
so I get the bat that come help me and
give me a bat pick, and then I'm gonna come
off that pick and then we're gonna roll and then
I'm gonna lay it up.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
You know, I didn't. Didn't they name one of those
bats fauci. I thought they did.
Speaker 7 (38:09):
That's not I'm just I'm just I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
I thought I thought, listen, I'm reading it here. I
thought I'm reading it here. I guess I got that wrong.
That's what I thought. I apologize.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
Hey, but don't most arena share it with with rats thought.
Speaker 5 (38:28):
Running on the court.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
I do love how you position that story like oh
they share it, Like, no, they don't share it.
Speaker 5 (38:34):
That's just like bad maintenance of the stadium.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
And by the way, if Steve Alford wants to get
rid of these things, lee to lapsure guy.
Speaker 5 (38:43):
He's killed multiple.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Herb those babies.
Speaker 5 (38:48):
What did you didn't beat his brains out?
Speaker 1 (38:58):
Yeah, so there's a there's just allution. Just give me
a call, Steve
Speaker 5 (39:05):
High
