Speaker 2 (00:33):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Sleeps. What you know about it? James f WHOA, he's
in the deep.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
They coming first out a little bit there he can
buy himself some time with the EOC firing.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
I mean they still coming for his head.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Man, they've been striking at him.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Is it bad or it's bad.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
It's been very very aggressive, very very like hateful, like
I know what it is. I mean, it's just, you know,
it's it's it's unfortunate that until certain things are handled
a certain way, certain sectors of Penn State fans will
(01:29):
attack anybody who's put in that position, especially if they're
not doing anything to hold them off. Like beating Michigan
or Ohio State.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Was you're such the oc the entire the entire time
he's been there.
Speaker 5 (01:42):
No, no, So I'll go through the history for you.
The last time Penn State won a Big Ten championship,
Joe Moorehead.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Was their offense man twenty sixteen.
Speaker 5 (01:53):
The last time they had a shot and winning another
Big Ten championship was twenty seventeen, when Joe Morehead was
their offensive coordinated They came within one point of beating
Ohio State that year. That I mean, now, other years, obviously,
Penn State has been a good football team, but those
two years in particular, I would say those were the
best two years of Penn State football at that time. Now,
(02:15):
granted you had Sa Kuan, you had Trace McSorley. You know,
you had really good players two at those positions. But
but that's the thing is, I think these guys are
really good too, Like Drew Aller is really good. I
think you could be a first round pick. I think
these running backs can be guys we talked about like that.
I mean, your left tackle is arguably one of the best.
(02:35):
I like my guy Joe a little better. But you know,
fashion News right there too, They're both gonna be Top
ten picks. So it's just I mean, and the defense
is littered with dudes, littered with dudes who are NFL
players and they're playing that way, but the offense isn't.
It's just there's there's a lack of sink and rhythm
and flow.
Speaker 6 (02:54):
And like I always say this.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
If you're building an offense, like at least this used
to be the traditional way, and you could do this
from playing three wide receiver sets and spread offenses. But
you want to have everything in the run game mimic
everything in the pass game. You can't just say we've
got a run package, we have our drop back passing
game and our screens, etc. And that's just it's too predictable.
(03:19):
You have to be able to have some stuff with
some movement. You have to be able to have some RPOs,
some run pass options. Now you have to be able
to have things off of your running game that mimics
your passing game.
Speaker 6 (03:30):
So guys like.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
LeVar can't just dominate you because otherwise, like that, the
better athletes on the other side of the ball. And
so if you're just saying we're gonna line up our
guys and we're gonna run these sets of plays, if
you can't get them running one direction and throw back
the other or run back the other. If you can't
find a way of getting the edges in the running
game to be able to help your running backs out.
(03:52):
They're faster, they'll get there, They'll find angles you can't
protect forever, They'll get past the offense line.
Speaker 6 (03:59):
They're better athletes. You've got to now.
Speaker 5 (04:01):
Now Today, more than ever, I think offense offensive coordinators
get exposed because the best best athletes are on defense
and in particular up front. There's a huge divide between
the athletes on the defensive line and the athletes on
the offensive line, and I think that gets you exposed
quick if you don't know how to scheme.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Teams up m hmm yeah uh more. Hit was tremendous
as our OC. It hasn't been the same since then.
We were concerned. A lot of us were concerned that
that would be the issue on our defense when we
lost Brenton Pry as well, because he's been such an
amazing coach for us. Yeah, I mean, he's a he's
(04:48):
a dude, and Manny Diaz is a dude as well.
I just I look at I look at what's going
on right now and and I just think that they
have to find someone that's a can't miss miss guy,
you can't miss this time, and I want to see
(05:13):
you know. First off, my my, my biggest issue here
is we're not Michigan and we're not Ohio State. So
anybody out there that's a Penn State fan that is
trying to make it a thing like, well, we have
to win this rivalry game. First of all, they're not
our rival. It's not our rival. We joined We joined
(05:34):
the Big Ten as an independent. If anything, Pitt Pitt
was our rival and Notre Dame was was our game
like back in the day because we were all independents.
The bottom line here is is that there's been this
this kind of way of creating a narrative where we
have to be just like Michigan or we have to
(05:54):
be just like Ohio State and we're Penn State. So
you can't sit there and say, well, you didn't beat
Ohio State. Now that's for Michigan. Michigan created that narrative.
You have to be the coach that can beat Ohio
State at Michigan. Oh, you can't beat Michigan, got it,
You got John Cooper done it well?
Speaker 3 (06:12):
That's Ohio State for Michigan.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
The problem I have is that we have a coach
that keep in mind, and it's been we're a decade
removed from it, but people soon forget that our program
was on the blink. And when I say it was
on the blink, how we talked about, you know, flat
tire and this, that and the other earlier on in
the show our locks. Our car didn't even have tires,
(06:38):
thank you, Our car didn't even have tires. Then this
man came in and rejuvenated, Like be clear, in a
great time. It's hard to recruit players to go to
Penn State in a great time, let alone a dark
time where something super bad happens where it stains and
hurts the reputation of the university. So the problem I
(07:01):
have is this man is okay. So he doesn't have
a great record against top five teams. He doesn't have
a great record against Michigan and Ohio State. But the
problem I run into is one we judged. We judge
our coach, and we haven't had many, but we had
two coaches post Joe, and we judge them based off
(07:22):
of what what we do against Ohio State and Michigan
when when I think about Joe didn't beat Michigan or
Ohio State either. I didn't get a win against Michigan,
not one. We didn't beat Michigan. So don't stop stop
comparing him to Joe. That's that's the first thing. The
second thing, second thing I kind of run into and
(07:43):
I kind of like get kind of bothered by, is
you can look at the resources that go into Michigan
and Ohio State football and compare them. Just pull the
finances and compare how the resources that go into Ohiuse
football and the resources that go into Michigan football to
(08:03):
to Penn State. You got all these people bitching and
moaning and groaning and flapping their gums about what what
what James can't do and what James didn't get done,
and how he's he needs to go and this, that
and the other. What do you think the new the
next coach is going to do, because he's going to
run into the same issues. So put your money where
you're flapping gums are.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
It's n I L.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Stop making excuses, n I L period of time, donate money,
do what you need to do so that you can
help the team and the facilities and what's going on
resource wise, so that we can get.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Marvin Harrison junior.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
So so we can get the type of guys that
you're looking for, and we can have, by the way,
the coaching staffs that these guys are looking.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
For you got.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
You go look at Alabama and the resources they have.
Look at their coaching staff. They have like two three
coaches for every position. Like literally, you're outside linebacker, you
got the main coach that's coaching outside linebackers, and you
got like two to uh what are they call quality
control dudes, which, by the way, analysts analysts, which by
the way, they're probably more knowledgeable than the guy that's coaching,
(09:14):
because it's generally a LaVar Arrington or Brady Quinn that
are are those guys analysts that are working to learn
it to become coaches themselves. So that's my My only
problem is that man lost two games last year and
y'all want to firing like you sound like a freaking moron.
He lost two games, and by the way, his two
(09:36):
losses so far this year, both teams were ranked number
three at the time.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
Yeah, but is it unfair for people to want them
to be competitive with the two best teams in the conference.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
They are competitive.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
But but well, if so, you're gonna say because they lost,
they're not.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
They're not. They're not. They're not non competitive teams.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Penn State is the most competitive team in the Big
Ten against Ohio State and in Michigan.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
Because it feels like they've like everybody knows they can
they can take care of these second tier teams in
the Big Ten.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
They've shown the ability to do that. They always bring up.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
James Franklin's record against Ohio State and Michigan.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
That's always what they should have done is put one
of those teams on the other side. Is what if
they if you really want to, if you really want to.
Speaker 6 (10:24):
Here's here's why they didn't.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
They didn't put they didn't put one of those teams
on the other side because it guarantees them in most cases.
The exception would have been, unfortunately the year Penn State
one in twenty sixteen because they had two losses and
we've never seen a two loss team make it as
a conference champion into a four team playoff, and and we.
Speaker 6 (10:45):
Won't, by the way after this year.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
So next year that'll be different, right, because we have
a twelve team playoff and that that'll be entirely different,
but it guaranteed.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
That you're going to get a Big Ten team into
the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
Ye, because you had a weaker team team coming out
of the West with one of your strongest teams in
the country out of the.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
Year, I get it.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
But if they if they wanted to really make the
thing for real in the Big Ten, put Michigan or
Ohio State on the other side.
Speaker 5 (11:11):
Well, and by the way, we get to see that
next year with the realignment, with four more teams coming in,
and it's gonna be fascinating, like it, because I think
the bigger question is if you're a Penn State fan
right now and you're hot and bothered about you know
what's taking place this season. I mean, look, I'll say this,
the issue was the offense.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
I said it after Ohio State.
Speaker 7 (11:32):
You did.
Speaker 6 (11:33):
Yes, I felt that way, not just I felt that
way last year, but when I saw this team, because
you were right last year, but you were so you
have to.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
Give James Franklin credit for seeing it again addressing it
and now let's see you hires and give the man
an opportunity. He's been extremely successful at Penn State, but
I think the bigger question will be with what I mean,
Washington Oregon right who are coming into this conference USC UCLA.
You know, Washington Oregon right now are potential playoff teams.
(12:07):
You know, how many teams get into the twelve team
expanded playoff and how does the entrance of Oregon Washington
really good programs impact Penn State's ability to still stay
as one of the top teams. I mean, if we're
getting our top three teams, it's Ohio State, Michigan, and
then Penn State. But with Oregon Washington entering into the mix, like,
do they get knocked down even more? Do they stay
(12:28):
right in their in they're spot at three and maybe
that can they can they continue to climb? You know,
there's just there's a lot of interesting things that are
going to take place with this realignment and more teams
coming to it. But we do know this. There is
one team that's America's team and it's not Penn State,
at least according to one coach.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
That is a great point.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
I'm glad you brought that up, because not only are
the America's team, but they've also got a fake involved
in the whole conversation. We are going to get to
that here coming up next from the tire iraq dot
com studios. As we are broadcasting live studios dot com,

Jonas Knox with the Air Coming up later on this
hour a little over twenty minutes from now from the
tire rack dot Com Studios, We're going to have ourselves
another edition of would You Rather? Yep, gonna be Woody Rather.
(15:00):
I know what you're thinking. Is it gonna be the
F S R I R? Absolutely not. Why would we
do the F S R I R here? We would
never do the F S R I R on a Tuesday,
but we would do would you Rather? So that'll be
happening here coming up a little over twenty minutes from
now here.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Oh, but it is on our rundown that God Dang
Jonas God Lee he is going at you today, started
with your sunglasses. That is not sure his papers wasn't
sorted out. That is now you're hitting you with what
(15:35):
you hitting in with the lazy rundowns, Like.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Are you by the way you mean to tell me?
It isn't fun to be passive, aggressive, slash smart ass
to someone other other than coming at you.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
Oh man, it is a good thing or coming from
you to us.
Speaker 5 (15:55):
I was gonna say, it's cool if you can take it,
if you dish it out, but Jonas a little sense,
you do, dude.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
You guys guys like to pass off the sensitive buck
here because both of you are guilty of it, all right,
guilty of what I.
Speaker 5 (16:11):
Don't care enough too. But I am curious though about
Lee's weekend. I feel like he didn't really talk much yesterday.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
And that's why I put ir on the rundown so
that he could.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
That's that's what it made me think, was like, all right,
maybe Lee had a story that we didn't get to
because Jonas had a great story. So maybe Lee was like, oh,
my story is not as good, but maybe there's something
going on.
Speaker 9 (16:35):
You went to a wedding. I think I might have
crashed the wedding next door too.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
How do you think you might have? Yeah, it was.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
It was a little blurry, so you didn't know if
you were in your wedding or someone else's. I didn't
know anybody in the first wedding I went to. Did
you feel like Jonas at the monster Truck, Jawn Lee?
Speaker 6 (16:56):
Are you sure you were invited to either wedding?
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Not really? No, but I good time? Where your pants
drive the entire night?
Speaker 5 (17:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (17:03):
Did you get urinated on like I did at that monster.
Speaker 6 (17:05):
You'renated, honor, You're not yourself.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
I can't talk about it today. We can't. I had
to do it. We can't do to the principals.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
Sam, Come on, do we talked about it on Monday.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
I had to do it.
Speaker 6 (17:18):
I was, come on, how else are you to talk
about it? Sam?
Speaker 5 (17:23):
You again on Live are and tell me? How are
you to say impress good number one in your pants?
Speaker 3 (17:28):
I mean, guys, move like Sam?
Speaker 6 (17:34):
How are we supposed to talk about that.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
The principals are? We literally can't. Someone's got to maintain
the rules here, guys.
Speaker 5 (17:40):
I'm sorry, but so you're you're telling me I can't
tell you that one of my.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
Kids that would bet all right, let's just keep moving here, Sam,
did you just say we don't we don't pay attention
to the rules.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
I mean, I've read the rule book.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
Unbelievable. This isn't even breaking the rules. I wholly understand
the safe harbor.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
I broke the rules earlier out own that I one
broke the rule yesterday was substitute teacher day. Hi, don't button.
Speaker 8 (18:07):
That.
Speaker 5 (18:07):
I just I don't know how you even discussed that topic,
which is completely within the realm of being able to talk.
Speaker 7 (18:12):
That's all right, we don't need to that's the thing,
all right, let's keep it.
Speaker 6 (18:17):
It's been addressed.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
It's been addressed.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
So back to the original point, Lee, where your pants dry?
Speaker 3 (18:24):
Where are your pants dry at the end of the night?
Speaker 6 (18:26):
Lead?
Speaker 3 (18:27):
That's all I wanted. I couldn't find about the end
of the night. Really, you really couldn't find your pants at.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
The end of the day.
Speaker 6 (18:34):
You put your tidy whities on your T shirt and
nothing else on.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
Look a light booger from nerves?
Speaker 4 (18:45):
Was it a breaking bad costume party? You just walking
around and undeasily?
Speaker 3 (18:49):
What are you doing? Where'd they go?
Speaker 8 (18:52):
Well?
Speaker 6 (18:52):
Know, they were I think they were.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
They hamper by the time I woke up. But I
just don't you know. Oh so you still had them
all at the wedding. Yes, okay, all right, you get
after it.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Man.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
I did get a I did get a little burn.
I don't know where that came.
Speaker 9 (19:05):
Burns yourself, I think I think I was trying to
cook some late night snacks when I got home.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
I'm going to send my production crew. I'm going to
send the camera with you every day, every time you
say you're going out, I'm sending the camera man with you.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
What you cook late night snacks on that fire at
the ten freeway burn.
Speaker 6 (19:24):
Here's the key tip.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
It's a.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
Microwave.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
No, I don't remember.
Speaker 6 (19:32):
When you're that banged uple you don't mess with the
oven or into the microwave.
Speaker 7 (19:38):
Yeah, we had younglasses up and on with their bombed
What a terrible idea.
Speaker 6 (19:44):
What was Todd with you?
Speaker 3 (19:47):
No, Todd was not there.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
What was Todd's pants.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
On or off? What are you guys doing playing hide
the tiki torch? I'll drop my pants right here.
Speaker 6 (20:02):
Do it?
Speaker 3 (20:07):
What a weird show? All right?
Speaker 1 (20:13):
Well, I just don't understand how you don't be remembering
the stuff that you do man, Like, that's kind of concerning.
Speaker 6 (20:18):
Man.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
It's like blackout every weekend, like, hey, well we found
the string of dead animals. I'll pack us Lee, was
it you? I don't remember?
Speaker 4 (20:32):
Oh think so if you see an alpaca wearing uh,
wearing Lee's dickies, you know something went awry the other night.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Okay, well, Sam, Well.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
We're going to move on now, Sam.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
So we are brought to you by Graduate Hotels at
your college game the headquarters, more than thirty hotels and
all your favorite college towns. Book a stay this season,
save up to thirty percent with the code two pros
at Graduate Hotels dot com. That's two pros at Graduate.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
All right.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
So one place where there is a Graduate hotel is
ann Arbor, and ann Arbor also is the home, as
Brady mentioned earlier, of America's team. I mean, if you
think we're lying here, all right, if you think we're lying,
listen to Jim Harbaugh, the head coach of Michigan yesterday.
Speaker 10 (21:16):
It's got to be America's team. It's got to be
America's team.
Speaker 6 (21:19):
America.
Speaker 11 (21:19):
America loves a team that that beats the odds, beats
the audiversity, overcomes with the naysayers and you know, critics,
so called experts think.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
That's my favorite kind of team that's branding one oh one.
Speaker 6 (21:34):
I'm with him.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
I mean, you got to put it out there. I mean,
Jerry Jones.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
Their merch line is gonna be ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
I'm with them.
Speaker 5 (21:42):
So at Penn State, this kid had some sort of
like like Video Department Espionage crew or something, and it
was like and on the back it said something about
like if we're blocking your view, it's because we need
we need it or something. It was basically like a
play on yeah, we're unapologetic about if we're going to
be filming your signals or something. And and so like
(22:05):
then those t shirts I've been seeing those online. Now
this is like Michigan America's team.
Speaker 6 (22:10):
Well you got there too, that's gonna be one of them.
Speaker 5 (22:14):
But think about that, like the Dallas Cowboys kind of
coined the phrase, right, like Jerry Jones kind of took that.
But no one's ever done that in college football because
it's been such a regional sport. With all this conference
realignment and now the TV network's making this and trying
to make it more of.
Speaker 6 (22:33):
A national sport.
Speaker 5 (22:35):
It's like why not Michigan, like like, why not Michigan
just go ahead and get take the first move or
advantage on that as things become less regionalized more nationalized
and go, yeah, we're America's team, We're Michigan.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Well, I mean Notre Dame is America's team. I mean,
if we're going to be honest, that's why they were
on NBC like they had they only yeah, well, I mean, God,
God bless America.
Speaker 6 (22:58):
Hello is even.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
If smiling at me saying it like Levar's right, that was.
Speaker 5 (23:09):
The case, though we haven't coined it like this and
taken Advantage's brilliant and he's taking the pressure off of
him and he's moving the gold post while he's doing
something that could make Michigan football in their program more valuable.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
I mean it is now, I dig it. It does
get better though. Okay, you remember when we were playing
the Brian Farrence deep fake. It was courtesy of a
gentleman on Twitter named Heaven's FX. Assuming it's a gentleman
if not, whatever, take it out of the podcast, but
if we recall, it was really well done to where
people actually believe that Brian Farrence was making the comments
(23:48):
he was making well, Heaven's FX got a hold of that.
We're America's team quote from Jim Harbaugh, and went to
work and put together a little bit of art for
you guys.
Speaker 10 (24:00):
It's got to be America's team. Got to be America's team.
America loves a team that you know has all the
resources and advantages, you know, and still tries to break
the rules to find that any little extra advantage. And
you know, there's nothing more American. That's my favorite kind
of team. Yeah, cheating, lying and then playing the victim
(24:26):
doesn't get any more red, white and blue than that.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
A so good.
Speaker 6 (24:35):
I mean, I don't know who those guys are, but
the war fantastic.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
Get some male from a lawyer is what they're going
to get. That's what they gonna get.
Speaker 7 (24:52):
It is really good, though, Sam, Can you do those
like I do them back to back real quick?
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Because there it's it's so well done. Yeah, be good. Yeah,
just let's let's get a whip of this.
Speaker 6 (25:09):
It's gotta be America's team.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
He's got an America's team.
Speaker 10 (25:12):
America.
Speaker 11 (25:12):
America loves a team that beats the odds, beats the adversity,
overcomes with the naysayers, and critics, so called experts, think
that's my.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
Favorite kind of team.
Speaker 10 (25:25):
It's got to be America's team. Got to be America's team.
America loves a team that you know has all the
resources and advantages, you know, and still tries to break
the rules to find that any little extra advantage. And
you know, there's nothing more America. And that's my favorite
kind of team. Yeah, cheating, lying and then playing the
(25:50):
victim doesn't get any more red, white and blue than that.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
I swear bet that. Man, I love college football. It
is so entertaining, Like this whole thing.
Speaker 7 (26:05):
Is he sure does, sure man, Like I don't know,
I really honestly don't know how anybody doesn't like college football.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
Like there's somebody out there. It's like, yeah, it's just
not my thing. That person is such a loser, such a.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
Loser, harsh like you know, opinions like that. But I
do agree with you on this one. This one time,
I'm going to go with you on this one.
Speaker 4 (26:34):
Look, and I know it didn't go well for Penn State,
but I'm telling you just watching it. That's why I
asked the question yesterday, what was it like there at
ground zero of all the drama that was going on.
It was fascinating to see how it played out and
just you had wall to wall coverage. Is Harball gonna
be there? And now he's somehow turned this into We're
(26:54):
America steam when we got deep fakes on all of it.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
So, I mean, it's brilliant.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
They they the entire time, though, have actually done an
amazing job putting out counter punches to what everyone else
has been throwing at them. I mean, if you read
through all the reports and stuff that was put out
there by Michigan, I mean outside of them, continued to
say due process was not was not upheld by the
(27:23):
Big Ten or even the NCAA to that degree. They
even went as far as saying, like, hey, everyone is
so much against us that they were even helping out
Purdue last year in the Big Ten championship game, like
providing them stuff like the accusations is kind of like
it's it is Michigan versus everybody.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Which is interesting.
Speaker 5 (27:46):
Yeah, No, I mean it's and honestly, like when I
when we walked, this was probably possibly the funniest part
of Saturday for me. So we get into the stadium
after the show or like once we come down from
one of the concourse after the show, and we're kind
of like trying to walk fast to get onto the
field because kickoff's already taken place, right, And I guess
(28:08):
Charles Woodson was at the front of the group, and
so he's walking quickly and he obviously is walking the
Michigan sideline.
Speaker 6 (28:16):
Well, like the rest of us aren't really paying attention.
Speaker 5 (28:18):
We're kind of talking about whatever and just it's the
first time kind of walking the tunnel and everything else.
And then next thing you know, it's like Coach Meyer,
myself and some others, we're like, oh, we're on the
Michigan sideline.
Speaker 6 (28:30):
Like we didn't realize that.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
Like naturally, our security just kind of followed Charles where
he was going instead of going to the Penn State side,
which was was actually kind of packed anyway, so we
probably would have had had to stand on the Michigan
sideline as it was.
Speaker 6 (28:43):
But for a second Urban looks around it's like, oh,
like I don't, like, I don't want to be on
the Michigan sideline.
Speaker 5 (28:50):
So he kind of like retraced himself and went back
towards the end zone, but we kept trying to get
photos of him and all that, and he was like
ducking out of it. He actually was a good sword
about it, but it was one of those like, oh, like,
I don't I don't want to be seen down on
the Michigan sideline right now.
Speaker 6 (29:05):
This could be a bad look.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
You know, what's the cool thing about what we're talking about?
Maybe it's not cool, but it's just just an interesting
observation is Harball is one hundred percent creating a narrative
and creating something based off of what Ohio, Ohio State
has done, because Ohio is the one that's Ohio versus
(29:27):
the world, right So and it's like, and we had
this conversation on the show not too long ago, like
everybody wants to see Ohio State lose. So now you're
looking at Michigan and Harball he's playing off of the
Ohio State versus the world, Ohio versus the world, and
he's basically said, listen, we're America's team. And that's a
(29:48):
direct that that can be a direct response to Ohio
versus the world, which makes that AI that AI generated
rant super super funny but most super relevant because in comparison,
when you think about it, Ohio State has his you
know lately, well maybe not late late lately, but but
(30:10):
for the most part, they've kind of dominated the Big
ten up until the last two years. So so Harball,
in a moment of vulnerability and under scrutiny and attack,
says we're America's team. And you know, the idea of
it is, I mean, if you think about it, they
are having to overcome adversity. They are being I mean,
(30:33):
they're being they are being attacked. That's what they are.
I mean, that's if you call the spade a spade,
that is what's going on. So to take advantage of it,
that's still a direct shot at Ohio State with what
he's saying. I think it's pretty freaking cool, man. I mean,
just the gamesmanship that's going on in the sarcasm and
(30:56):
but yet brilliance within the sarcasm of everything. I wonder
Ryan Dale come out and say something that has something
to do with branding his team.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
He has no problem.
Speaker 5 (31:07):
Said Ohio States kind of claimed the Ohio against the world,
because they said that earlier this year after they've beaten
unter Dame, when Ryan Day went on that rant about
Lou Holtz. They already said it then, So I think
that's why Michigan said it's Michigan versus everybody, because they couldn't.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
They couldn't the world it's so good. Well there you go.
Gonna be gonna be fun to see how that thing
shapes out.
Speaker 5 (31:32):
By the way, this is the fun part is to
kind of Jonas's point, like, I think people who are
NFL fans are going to start to convert to college
football fans to not not saying that you're gonna say, oh,
I'm giving up one for the other. I think people
are gonna find more interest in it, even if they
don't necessarily affiliated because much of what we talked about
(31:55):
the NFL, and there's some of his juicy headlines of
storylines in the offseason if you like that, Like if
you think the NFL is like really drama driven and
all throughout the year, you have so much more of
it in college football, like with the realignment with transfer
portal nil, like the recruiting stories. That stuff is way
(32:18):
more fascinating and interesting than the same old conversation when
it comes to the combine and Pro days, and like
waiting for the draft, where anything that's said up.
Speaker 6 (32:29):
To that point in the draft doesn't matter it doesn't matter.
Speaker 5 (32:34):
Like all that crap half the time as smoke screens
or a team saying something you're leaguing something, or an
agent saying something when you can when it comes down
to recruiting, like a lot of the stuff that gets out,
you're like, no, this is real. Like there was a
battle for a kid and like this happened, and this
nil deal came around, and like this is how they
got the kid, or like a state nil law changed
and it allowed this school to offer this kid something
(32:56):
no one else could. So there is like as much
drama in college football and really athletics as ever before.
And that's why like people are like, oh, this Michigan
thing's unprecedented. Yeah, kind of until you kind of look
back at like, I don't know, Wake Forest when they
had a former coach who was doing their radio games
(33:16):
giving their opponents their game plans, like.
Speaker 6 (33:20):
For years, dude, for years.
Speaker 5 (33:24):
I mean it's crazy when you think about the stuff
that has gone. Imagine if that happened at the NFL level,
The type of stuff I mean you were talking about,
was it, Tim.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Donahue, Yeah, Tim donne.
Speaker 5 (33:35):
Like like that it's like on that sort of level
of like crrumpness and craziness.
Speaker 6 (33:39):
That stuff happens at college. You have stuff like this
every year.
Speaker 4 (33:42):
I forgot about that Wake Forest story until you brought
it up, Like yeah, because it's it's almost part of
the course in college football.
Speaker 6 (33:50):
That's what I'm saying, Like people, have you followed college football? Man?
Speaker 3 (33:55):
I forgot that.
Speaker 6 (33:57):
Have you followed the craziness that goes on with this stuff?
Speaker 3 (34:00):
So good?

Would you rather your random topics?
Speaker 3 (35:13):
Sports or otherwise? All right, lead to laugh, What do
we got sports or otherwise?
Speaker 9 (35:18):
I'll start with some sports guys who've got Bengals at
Ravens for Thursday night football. I was wondering, would you
rather have Joe Burrow or Lamar Jackson as your franchise quarterback?
Speaker 1 (35:26):
Oh, that's good. That's a good one. Joe Burrow, that's
a good one. I'm gonna go Lamar Jackson this year.
Speaker 5 (35:34):
You'd say Lamar Jackson. He's had the better year. You know,
I know this past game.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
You know it's they let it get away away by
the way that throw from Burrow on the run to
Jamar Chase, that's as good as it gets. Where he
scrambled outside and just I mean total dime right right
right in his arm.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
I mean Joe Burrow has gotten further. He doesn't want
an MVP, he dosn't won an MVP. Yeah, that balance
is out.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
I'm more of a team guy.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Would you would you rather have a quarterback that could
get you to the championship game and not be an
MVP or an MVP quarterback that can get you to
the championship game?
Speaker 3 (36:14):
Get me to the game, Like I'm about the end.
Speaker 5 (36:16):
It's a team sport. The team gets there, the team
helps the quarterback. I mean it's it's I don't I
don't look at.
Speaker 3 (36:23):
It that way because you're a quarterback. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (36:26):
Well, also, I feel like they've both been great. I
mean they're both two at the top in the NFL.
But I think Lamar has had a better year so
far this year, even though outside of it, before this
past week, maybe it would have said Burrow because he
was on a little bit of a hot streak there.
Speaker 6 (36:44):
I'll put it this way. If Lamar had Joe Burrow's
receiving corps, would that change your mind a little bit?
Speaker 5 (36:52):
Yes, because they I mean, he didn't have Higgins this
past week, but when you have Jamar, Chase T.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
Higgins, Tyler Boyd. Yeah, they're interchangeable ones. Well, you can
use any of them you want. At one and.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
Two or three. To that point, he's got Ja Flowers
maybe uh at some.
Speaker 1 (37:14):
Points Flowers and Obj did get in the end.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
Look pretty good.
Speaker 9 (37:21):
All right, you guys, This one's a bit morbid, but
it's deep and I actually want to know your answer
for it.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
So we.
Speaker 9 (37:27):
Guys, would you rather pass away before or after your partner?
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Jesus Lee, Oh my gosh, I.
Speaker 6 (37:34):
Certainly no one needs to talk about this right now.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
No, it's a genuine question.
Speaker 9 (37:40):
Like I've I've talked to some widows and they're like
some some people are like, I'd rather have passed before
my partner.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
I mean after, of course, a race. I'm trying to
win this race we're talking about here. I'm trying to
get to the finish life we do here.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
I'd rather go before.
Speaker 6 (37:54):
Yeah, I think before, clearly win this one.
Speaker 5 (37:59):
Clearly, I think about it from this perspective like I
think about my kids, and so there's a selfish part
of me that would want to be with them as
long as possible. But then there's another part of me
that's like, I'd want them to have their mom longer than.
Speaker 6 (38:18):
Me, So I guess i'd say before.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
For that reason, the only badge honor for child is
to bury his parents. So I'd rather go before my my,
my spouse. But there's your morbid let's move. We got
to give hugs? Would you rather drink?
Speaker 6 (38:41):
Give my family a hug? Would drink?
Speaker 3 (38:44):
What's wrong with you?
Speaker 9 (38:46):
I was hunkered next on the at the bar, next
to this old widow guy, and he was like, he's like,
once my wife passed, I don't even want to be
here anymore.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
But you remember that nothing else?
Speaker 6 (38:56):
But was like, all right, buddy, let's just drink ourselves
in oblivion.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
Soon happen you won't remember. Is that where you're getting
your content from?
Speaker 2 (39:03):
Lee?
Speaker 3 (39:03):
From some guy to bar top?
Speaker 6 (39:04):
Yeah? Yeah, pretty much?
Speaker 3 (39:06):
Is this a lancers? Don't put my bar out there?
Find lancers.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
No one's gonna find you, all right?
Speaker 9 (39:17):
What else, guys, would you rather spend a full day
sitting or standing?
Speaker 3 (39:22):
What? What standing? Would you rather spend spend a whole
day sitting or a full day spend the whole day
a couch on.
Speaker 6 (39:31):
It's just so bad.
Speaker 1 (39:33):
I sit on my If I could sit on my
couch for a whole entire day, I would.
Speaker 6 (39:39):
You can't. Were you drinking?
Speaker 3 (39:41):
I do it all the time. Well, it wasn't just
drinking with with the Something Knows
