Speaker 3 (02:07):
Everybody's doing well and the kids are growing up and
we're getting over there.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Yeah, no doubt. And the crazy thing is yeah, I
mean I'm on I'm on your side as well. It's
fifty three degrees out where where I'm in Delaware, so
I'm about to go see the oldest you know, they're
playing Villanova Delaware. University of Delaware is playing Villanova today,
So yeah, man.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
It's it's good.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
It's it's a little pleasantly brisk, but definitely great football weather.
And yeah, man, I'm happy to be here. It has
been a while since all three of us have been
on the show.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
So yeah, it's good. It's good to be ba. Hey,
you used to this brist football weather man. TJ. He's
a California kid man, so hey, man, he's used to
playing football in seventy eighty degree. No, man, he did
have to do.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
We did grow up in it, but TJ did have
to adjust. I will say that playing in Bengals, whether
that who they right on the way and y'all's in
the stadium. Run the water right or that's Cleveland. Cleveland's
on the water. We're on the water. The water is
right across the street.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yeah, man, it's cold.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
It's the thing that people don't understand. You can play
in anything. It's the practicing. We didn't have an indoor.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
You're right, the practicing.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
He didn't in anything. You don't like it, Oh, but
we're gonna we're gonna suck that up for sure. It's
the practicing man, where you gotta practice in this and
you really just don't. You don't have a desire, bro.
You when we used to be bundled up, I mean
bundled up.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
It's just a little bit tougher. When you're my New
York Giants. You gotta practice outside of.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
You two and eight.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
It's a little bit tougher because you know you're just
fighting through for the rest of the season.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Yeah, when you when you're losing and you gotta go
out there, you really mad, You you really mad.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
I used to go through I used to go through
practices with electric socks on.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
And if I ain't have.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Electric socks, I put I put icy hot on the
botto or vasoline on on my feet, even on the bottoms,
and put put the ice bags on my feet and
tape them and put.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Your over them.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
If warm Moon told me the same thing. Man he
said he was playing in the Canadian League, used to
be so cold in Canada that he's to put vassiline
on his feet and put the plastic bags over the
top of his feet, and didn't put the socks.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
On, Dad, because it keep your feet warm and dry,
keep from dry and warm.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
That's very top piece of woman.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
We used to be out there with about three four
bottoms on, four tops on out there looking like lining
like we do.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
We're gonna practice. I don't know how we.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Gonna look, but we were gonna practice twelve yar Old Curl.

Speaker 5 (05:05):
I tell you, I tell you ain't gonna be practicing exactly.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Speaking of speaking of the Cincinnati Bengals and this roller
coaster of a season that they've had started off. Obviously,
Rocky Joe Burrow injured calf, he starts to get healthy.
We start to see it. They go on a run,
slip up against the Texan. It's a little slip up.

(05:32):
They're gonna make this playoff run. I'll let you guys
go first.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
What what does this do.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
For the A Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, we
all know no, no, no, one thousand. The season is over.
They are not making the playoffs. But what does this
do for the rest of AFC? Now, who do we
feel can slide into their spot? Who do we feel
can now possibly make a run and take that spot
that many start and we're expecting the Bengals to have.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
It's a great question, man, you know you know what
I said, If that the Cincinnati Cincinnati Bengals could go
to San Francisco and get that win. I thought, you know,
it was gonna be a game changing, you know game
for them, you know, going down the stretch and getting
to the AFC and for them to run all five
or six games in the rugby, I said, I said
to the show, I said, Cincinnati Bengal alert because Joe

(06:24):
Burrow's healthy. When he's healthy, they were one of the
top three teams in all the football. And the news
came down yesterday man I said, when Joe Burrow got hurt.
You can just see the look on these guys faces,
Jamar Chase, Tyler, Bird, Uh, Joe Mixon. That the rest

(06:44):
of the season for them is looking rather bleak, you know,
so to speak, because when you lose your best player,
especially your franchise quarterback, it's just not the same. Even
though Brownie went in there, he managed the offense, he
went went down the field when Joe Burrow was out
the game, but they didn't score, but they managed to

(07:05):
get a field goal. But it's just not the same.
And for the Cincinnati Bengals not to make the playoffs,
it still will be shocking to me. I think they
still have an opportunity they can win. Maybe I'm saying
five out of the next seven, and you see that,
you see this four five, I've seen the schedule. But

(07:26):
the AFC North is the toughest division in football because
everybody's like one win away, so it can go either way.
So Cincinnati Bengals still have an opportunity to win the
division because everybody, everybody's record is almost the same. But
I would say to myself that they needed this game

(07:47):
in Baltimore because they would go they go two games
behind the Ravens. But right now I think that for
them to get into the playoffs is only a wild
card option. But for Joe Burrow to be out for
the rest of the season, Listen, I had a risk
injury my rookie year. I broke my risk on the

(08:10):
last play of the game my rookie year against Dwayne Stark.
I'm having breaking my wrisk. I told my scaffold lunate
three screws to the side, and it was basical for me,
like catching all over again.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
I can catch the football for.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Damn in ten months, but for him to have it
on his throwing hand, Listen, it's a tough game. To
play when you can't protect yourself, and people really don't
understand the magnitude of being able to get guys off you.
For him gripping the football and throwing it with velocity,

(08:47):
I just don't know how he's going to come back
from it. We all wanted to come back from it
because I think the Cincinnati Bengals have a great group
of They have a nucleus of guys that can to
a world championship. But man, that's a tough brow. You
can see those Zach Taylers.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
Yeah, he's done. He's done for the year.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
And and and and if I'm looking at the AFC
playoff race, they're out of it. I think that there's
a couple of teams that you look at right The
Bills are fighting for their life. They're actually a bubble
team right now. The Bills are a bubble team. Plastic tremendousness, bruh,
plastic rap hey. The Los Angeles Chargers a bubble team,

(09:33):
and they have been a tremendous disappointment. As you mentioned,
I think that was your biggest disappointment team, you said
when we had that question today. And and but here's
here's two teams that I'll throw out you or three
teams I'll throw at you that it's pretty interesting.

Speaker 5 (09:48):
But what if it's like the Houston Texans.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
What if you know what I told TJ?

Speaker 2 (09:58):
He didn't want to listen to me. I know he's
a little bit bad because this guy Carolina. But no, no, no, no, no,
no no.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
The playoffs, if the playoffs started today, the Houston Texans
are in if they started today.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
LaVar, can I cut you off? Please? You are doing
a hell of a mister Burris.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
What you know? You know I said that I would
take c J. Stroud with the number one pick. No,
you did not walk He not only did this guy
not only did I say not only did I say it?

Speaker 2 (10:36):
No, No, Bryce Small, he has been doing this thing
his whole life. He has.

Speaker 5 (10:44):
You did say that I did.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Okay, I said this on the radio that I would
take c J number one, and I also said it
on national television that I would take c J number
one national television.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Not not Bryce c J. I thought.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
He said I should have went number one. I thought,
But I don't.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Think that's very well. I'm surprised. I'm surprised that he's
not playing well. But I'm sorry but I don't know that.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
I don't know that anybody's going to do that well
in that situation in Carolina, And that plays a part
and the whole idea, and that's getting off topic, but
I'm just telling y'all, the Texans look pretty good right now.
You know who else? The Raiders? The Raiders and the Colts.
Those are the two other teams that I'm looking at
and saying, you asked the question, who is it opened

(11:28):
the door for? I think it opens the door for
the Texans the Colts, And don't look now, but them
them cats from Compton running things up in there, a
running things up in there. They looking like they about
to step def ro style into into a position to be.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
In the playoffs in the AFC West.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
And it's probably because the Chargers don't want to. They
don't want to look like they're a good team. And
and I mean, the Broncos are starting to make some headway,
but I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
If I fully trust that.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
But I look at those two teams and I say,
that's that's the door that's been opened for a team.
With with Cincinnati having Joe Burrow go down, I think
you gotta look at the Texans, you gotta look at
the Coats, and you gotta look at them Raiders had a.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Great Cincinnati with this whole board thing.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
This is why I say the backup quarterback position in
the NFL has been It is one of the most
coveted positions in all of football. But because of this,
Deshaun Watson, Kirk Cousins out, Daniel Jones out, Anthony Anthony Wilson,

(12:41):
and Rogers out hey.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
But this is the thing, guys, and all the teams
you just named, if your backup, your season is probably over.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Straight up.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
If you if your backup quarterback has to play extended time,
your season is probably over. Like Labar, I agree with
you to a certain extent. Like the Texan they really
have a chance because they've already beaten the Jags and
they play the Jags again.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
The Jags are leading that division.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
The coach not so much, because it's hard for me
to see three teams come out of that division. The
Raiders will tomorrow will tell me a lot. They play
the Miami Dophense that will tell me a lot. It's
not about it's how do they slow down that offense
or if can they slow down that offense. That will
tell me a lot. I like the way that Denver

(13:28):
is playing the Chargers. They have a huge game tomorrow
against the Packers, must win, must win, and they have
a chance to really win some game, very very winnable games.
So for me, it would be the Chargers, Broncos, and
Texans in that order, because I just think the Chargers

(13:51):
have a really good team. They just haven't put it together.
And if you haven't put it together at this time
of the year, are you really a good team? And
so they're not to have to show that.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
No, no, no they're not.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
I've been host I've been so high on the Charges
all year. Man.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
They just can't seem to put it together when it
matters the most, man.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
So that ain't gonna it ain't gonna happen this year.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
It just sucks for the NFL that.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Burrow is injured now and he's out for the season,
because when one of whenever, one of your pillars of
your league, in which Joe Burrow is, goes down, it
just it just sucks. And so hopefully he can heal up,
he'll be better for this. But I broke my wrist,
but all I had to do was put a cast
on for like, uh, I think it was six weeks

(14:42):
and rehab and you know I was good, so I
didn't have the torn legam many things that plaque spoke of.
And what Joe may have, we don't know. They haven't
released it, but just prayers twin this should motivate him.
This year has been a rocky year for him, starting
the season off with the calf injury not a risk
and t Higgins with the hamstring and the contract years

(15:03):
just just kind of been a bad year health wise.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
For the Bengals.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
It sucks because the Bengals and Niners was my preseason
Super Bowl pick. So we all know that ain't gonna
come to fruition. Both the Niners looking they they got
a chance. Now they got a chance. We're gonna see
when they walk in the Philly this week.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
No no, no, no, no, no, It's.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
That's what I was. That's what my math.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
The Niners are about to steam roll the bus tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
That ay that that Chiefs an Eagles game. That's gonna
be a game. Yeah, that's gonna be a game. But
we'll be appreciate everybody tuning in. First segment, first fifteen

Welcome back in Up On Gang Live from a Tireck
dot com studio.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
I'm TJ.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Houshman was out alongside LaVar Arrington and Plexico Burris, your
neck of the Woods fellas where both of you guys
played your college football.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
The Big Ten is a mess.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
Penn State fired the office of coordinator Mike Yrsich, Michigan
fires the linebacker coach Chris Partridge.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
D Yeah, I would say, yeah, you had to. What
do you make of what?

Speaker 1 (17:46):
I don't like the way this hardball situation has been handled?
Like I'm real, Patty. If I was Michigan, I'd try
to lead a Big Ten out of Spike. Everybody else
is leaving. I'm out of there and do well without me.
What do y'all make of what's going on in the
Big Ten toward the powerhouse programs?

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Two of the better teams making these moves? Man?

Speaker 3 (18:10):
You know, uh, you know what I've been really you know,
Washington Penn stayed closely over the last couple of years
because I like what James Franklin is doing with this
with this uh, with his team and this group of
guys that he got and Dan Brason. I think he's

(18:30):
a he's a great coach. He is a great teacher.
And you know, me and Leavar we text back during
the games and because I really, you know, we want
them to do well, because this is one of the
institutions that my son is eyeing because it's two and
a half hours down the street, and and you know,
you can't win with I don't have an earlite quarterback.

(18:54):
And you know, we've had this conversation. But they will grow.
But I think fire the officeer coordinator. What's something that
had to happen because their offense has been stagnant. I
looked at up, I watched the Ohio State game and
then last week they they're not produced like exposive plays

(19:15):
on offense to be able to compete at the Ohio
States and the Michigan levels. I'll say that and on
to Michigan. It just seems to me that if they
want to leave the Big Tens by okay, well we don't.
We don't need you because no, you know, I'm still

(19:37):
trying to figure out how Michigan plays eight home games
a year in an eleven game schedule, and this is
the Big Ten in.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Twelve games, eight at home because.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
They get privileged, you get privileged.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
They've been there, well they probably created it.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Ohio State and and and Michigan cre they ate at
the Big ten like that's they're two of the that's
the two anchor teams.

Speaker 5 (20:04):
So yeah, I mean.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Say this with this part with the fire defensive coordinator,
it's alarming to me that when he gets fired and
they have this whole stealing scandal going on with this,
with this with this other guy, that when they played
Penn State last week, that wasn't a convincing win to me.

(20:28):
So something is telling me that the signals and the
signs that they were getting gives them an advantage to winning.
If you look at what they have done previously. They
beat us, what forty nine and zero? They better than y'all.
They beat thirty thirty four. Hey, they got thirty point wins,

(20:52):
forty point wins. But they go to Penn State and
all of a sudden they don't have the signals or whatever.
They're struggling. But Penn State tea, Hey, now you find it.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
If we if we had some better offense, we would
have we would have fod think we could have won
that game.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
Apparently he was covering up the signs, stealing, uh whatever
was going on.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
But then on top of that.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
They said he was destroying fousand and computers and stuff
like that. See, let me jump in right there.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
I think there.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
I think there's more to it, y'all. I think there's more.
I think there. I think there's something that's in the
in the hole that is doesn't need to be exposed,
and if and if, and I think that that's why.
And I know we're supposed to have a conversation on
on hardball, and and and you know, him accepting that

(21:45):
the suspension part of it, this is a part of it,
all right, Well to me, I think that everybody's asking
why you accepted the suspension. I think you accept the
suspension because if you got to go to discovery and
this knowing that the judge is not going to rant you,
that that whatever injunction or whatever it is, that's going
to take place. The further this goes and the longer

(22:07):
it drags out, I think the more they're going to discover.

Speaker 5 (22:10):
And I think somebody already knows something bigger.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
Absolutely, and I think they got they gotta get through,
They gotta get out of this, and hope and think
that they're unscathed. Really, I mean, if you think about it,
they have found two different reasons to suspend hardball this year,
not one.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
I don't even know if that's that's that might be
like a record, that's jealousy, that's envy?

Speaker 2 (22:35):
How's it jealous? Hey? Yes, hey, hey, guess what this again?

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Is a top four football program in the country this year,
and you'll fire the defensive.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Coordinator, no linebacker coach. I don't care who it is.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
Nobody on that staff deserves to be fired based off
of what their record is and how they've performing.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
I agree the season, I do agree with that, and you.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Wake up and your fire the linebacker coach. We had
this discussion with Leaval a few weeks ago. Uh you
don't think.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
That, you know?

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Uh uh? Getting signs is an advantage. Hell yeah, it's
an advantage when you're allowed back to coach. It's all
about personnelity.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Every everybody, a task or run is an advantage.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Everybody you found, realizing it or not. Everybody is still
in signs.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
Though everybody is still in signs, So why why do
you single out Michigan everybody? That's the point, and this
is my point. So how can you have, uh this
attitude towards there? Everybody is of course there's Mochigan, this
man by Burgers and Michigan and Michigan, Michigan. Michigan didn't

(23:47):
just get caught. Somebody told on them because they're jealous
and they they're envious of the success.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
And somebody is continuing to tell on them. He take
this three games suspension and hope they can make it.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
And all Michigan and all Michigan is going to do
is keep eating everybody. And I just slipped at their schedule.
This is their fifth this is their fifth road game
of the season. They played seven. State is better Michigan.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Michigan beats everybody until they get into the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
But they get there and they run into the tc
US and the Georgia and they realize that you know what,
he Plexico sounds like a man that went to Michigan
State may tell.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
You that real football players out here. And then on
top of that, the whole getting back to the Michigan
guy getting fired, Michigan doesn't even throw the ball in
the second half of the game.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
That's crazy. Why is that? DJ? You know what, I've
never experienced that every in my life.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Maybe they weren't getting the signs and the signals or
what the defense was gonna be running at past stake,
So you know what, we're not even gonna throw the
football or one single playing the whole second half.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
That that's bad on you. You literally just let a
team run the ball down like will really that that's
something that that's that's Manny d as Manny has.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Stopped the rush. That is one of the most alarming things.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Listen, everybody's stuff that's going on with Michigan. Every but
you're supposed to and you can't throw the football.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
No, they could throw, they chose not because they didn't
have to. I don't believe that.

Speaker 5 (25:41):
But how do you not have your your your quarterback
throw the ball.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
I don't believe that.

Speaker 5 (25:46):
I mean they don't have to. You didn't have to.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Why do you not have your quarterback the ball?

Speaker 4 (25:52):
A few it was it was a past interference, but.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
You're talking about we're talking about college football here, TJ.

Speaker 7 (26:01):
No.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
I know this, and McCarthy's gonna be a first round pick,
but you're playing on the right hosta.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
He'll be a first round pick.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Man. Name me the last Michigan quarterback that has played
in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
It doesn't matter. Yeah, first on first round pick. That
boy can't throw the ball across the damn street, Yes
he can.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
I've seen him in person. I've seen him in person,
pretty good. I've seen him in person, seen him in person.

Speaker 5 (26:28):
Play might.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
Play quarter if quarterback in Michigan, if you ain't Tom Brady,
and they ain't me, the last quarterback and played in
the NFL.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
I don't know J. J. McCarthy at all, but I've
seen him out here. He was out here for three weeks,
three weeks straight out here training in California during the summer.
He looked pretty good to me. Look pretty good to me,
he thinks. Now, now, this is the thing. Penn State
had to fire their offensive coordinator because, in essence, they
have a quarterback who's going to be drafted very high

(27:05):
here in the future, and he wasn't playing that way.
Penn State couldn't score points, they couldn't move the ball effectively,
and they have a good offensive team. That's the coordinator,
that's the guy in charge. Michigan. If was reported the
linebacker coach tried to conceal evidence he didn't cooperate with

(27:27):
the NCAA. They had no choice but to fire him.
But I like that, ain't no snitching. If you want
me to help with your investigation, you done lost your mind.
You find this on your own, it's gonna be substision.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Now he got fired. No, no, no, he gonna hold
you to that because he want to continue.

Speaker 5 (27:42):
To We're gonna make sure.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
We're gonna make sure you and the family. Were gonna
make sure you forget about it.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Random fire though, just you know because of what I
just said. Now plex we all played in the league. Uh,
everybody in league still signs. Why do you think why
do you think you says college it's all football. Why
do you think now in the NFL the linebackers have
the headset where they can hear what's being called. Why
do you think Peyton Manning and the coach were going

(28:12):
no huddle in our era? Why Why do you think
they went no huddle all the time because they liked it,
or they had everybody signed up because they had a
great quarterback. They had everybody signs. Why do you think
we started going no huddle in Cincinnati?

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (28:25):
Because and you can't put Tom Brady and Peyton Manning
and Rogers and these guys in this guth because no,
they can pretty much call a football game for the field.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
I know that.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
But what I'm saying is, when we were playing at
that point in time, Indy was pretty much the only
team that was going no huddle on a consistent basis.
Consistent basis because they were like the only team that
was basically the offer was the coordinator. It's different, listen,
plex We had a guy come from Indianapolis that told
us they had signs and then that's when we started

(28:55):
going no huddle in Cincinnati. I'm just telling you that's
when we started going You remember how we would go
on huddle a lot. We was getting people's defensive signals
and then that's when they put in the helmet of
defensive player. Now why all of a sudden, now, Plexico,
why now many teams don't going to know how to
Why is that is that a coincidence? Because you don't

(29:16):
have you don't have this. Now you don't have to
sign you don't have their signs, so now you got
huddle up.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
It is how college football has evolved. If you look
at college football right now, they don't go in the
huddle because you got people holding up signs on the sideline,
post boards, pitchers, symbols. That is where college football is
at right now. Why do you think the college football

(29:44):
game has transferred to the NFL Because of that exact reason.
They're calling plays as the defense are lining up. That
is why the quarterback is struggling at the next level
it they try their coaches there everything. Hey, they get
to line, they clap, they looked to the sideline for

(30:06):
other ten seconds, and they get to play based off
of what the defense is lining up as.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
So don't give me that bull of the sign stealing
and all that. I know what it is.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
They cheating, Hey, y'all, that sounds like a Michigan State spartan.
We gotta go to mister Isaac lawn crin.

Speaker 8 (30:28):
What's hello, fellas right on cue? Because number three Michigan,
after falling behind three nothing at Maryland, has just taken
it into the end zone on a two yard touchdown
run by Blake Quorum. So with two minutes and nineteen
seconds left to play in the first quarter, they've got
a six to three lead at Maryland with the extra point.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
Tend the struggled Maryland.

Speaker 8 (30:53):
And they're trending. They're turning for yes. The extra point
was good. So Michigan fans should should stop sweating. Number
eight Alabama of twenty one to nothing over Chattanooga forty
eight seconds left to play in the first quarter. Miami
has come back to ty tenth ranked Louisville at seven.
They have three twenty six left to play in the
first quarter. Elsewhere, Oh boy, all right. Number twelve Penn

(31:22):
State has just gotten into the end zone to take
a seven to three lead over Rutgers just over three
minutes out of the second quarter. K Tron Allen a
two yard touchdown run. How are you feeling there about that, LeVar?

Speaker 2 (31:39):
Yeah, I feel good. Okay, all right, that's that's a
struggle good.

Speaker 4 (31:43):
Yeah, all right, now I know nobody that's right.

Speaker 8 (31:50):
So Penn State back out in front there. Number thirteen
Old Miss up seven nothing over Louisiana Monroe after one
in a non conference affair by you and fourteenth ranked
Oklahoma tied at seven with three minutes left to play
in the first quarter. Number twenty four at two lane
a seven nothing lead at Florida Atlantic with three minutes
left to play in the first Hang on.

Speaker 6 (32:13):
Guys, I just got a text message, ok.

Speaker 8 (32:17):
Fine elsewhere in non top twenty five action. Jeez, Michigan State,
yeah yeah, yeah, yea seven nothing lead at Indiana eight
minutes and forty seconds left to play in the first quarter,
seventeen yard touchdown reception by Malik Carr. That okay with

(32:41):
you in Blackxico. We will certainly keep everyone updated on
that compelling affair. Finally, at fl Media reports the Pittsburgh
Steelers plan to activate tight and Pat freyermuved from injured
reserve today at advance of their huge game at Cleveland
tomorrow with both teams six and three. Fellas back to.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
You, alright, love, we appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
And just so you guys know, Penn State, Michigan State,
Oregon State, Oregon State's the highest ranked team of those three.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Just oh, just to let you guys know that. And also,

Speaker 1 (34:57):
As I said before we went to break, we don't
have much time. But what is going on with the
Colorado Buffalos?

Speaker 2 (35:07):
Now? What is going on with him?

Speaker 1 (35:09):
Obviously he had a ton of success early on and
as of late it's been really really bad. How much
success not only did the University of Colorado have, but
where where do we put this?

Speaker 2 (35:27):
For Dion?

Speaker 1 (35:27):
He has personally said this is by far the worst
stretch of anything he could ever remember in football that
he's ever had.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
Let me just go quick. He's right because look at
what he's doing. Look at his legacy. When we were
talking about one of the greatest athletes, probably the greatest
athlete of all times and professional sports. And for him,
what's killing him is defense because he was the greatest
cornerback they ever lived. And I've been saying this, I

(36:03):
think last week, twenty nine points and they lose the game.
Next year, the Colorado Buffaloes will probably inarguably have the
best defense in college football because it's gonna make Dion
this up that upset to where guy's gonna come and

(36:24):
he's gonna take them. Trust me, if anybody takes pride
in defense, it's Deon Sanders.

Speaker 1 (36:34):
They need to get better on both sides of the
line of scrimmage up front. And those guys aren't just
transferring because they're playing at their schools. The guys that
you get that are transferred are the guys that aren't playing.
Oh and there's a reason they aren't playing. So it's
it's not gonna be easy. It's not gonna be easy.
But Dion and those kids have to understand everything that

(36:57):
they are doing, and they are putting out in front
of everybody. See, they are going to get each team's
best effort every Saturday.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
They're not just the.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
Colorado Buffaloes anymore. They are prime time Shadors Sanders, Travis Hunter,
Shiloh Sanders. They are that team, especially with bringing everybody
in every Saturday, all the celebrities on the sideline, those
kids that they are playing against on the opposite sideline,

(37:29):
they're going to get their best effort every Saturday, and
they have to understand that and be able to embrace
it and be able to go out and play. I
don't give a damn if you're playing Arizona, whoever the
case may be, you're going to get that best effort
just because of everything that you're putting out. If they're
not winning, our people still on the sideline. Absolutely, Hey,

(37:54):
this is only his first year.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
For how long? This is only his first season.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
But I say this, Dion is a master brander and salesman,
and he'll come up with something like this year. As
I believe it might still continue to be. I believe
just because I think where they're at right now. You
take a look at this Colorado team, all right, two
thousand and nine, three and nine, ten, five and seven, eleven,

(38:21):
three and ten, twelve, one and eleven, thirteen, four and eight, fourteen,
two and ten, fifteen, four and nine. Their only winning
season really over the last decade has been twenty sixteen,
where they won ten games. After that five wins, five wins,
five wins, and twenty four wins, twenty one four wins,

(38:42):
twenty twenty two to one win. Is this a successful
season for Dion in his inaugural year. Yes, because he
came into a bear empty, you know, a beer empty
cupboard for what was taking place at Colorado. He's reached
you un and he's re resurrected the excitement that exists

(39:04):
in Colorado. And I think that was the bigger challenge,
right he culture shocked the place. Now the question becomes
once once you get away from all of the antics
and the people being on the sideline, all those things,
we're gonna have to see if he can really coach
this team to a to a higher level. But four
wins after a one to win season, I definitely think

(39:26):
that it was a successful year for them, even though
they kind of fell off the cliff towards the end.
But he's gonna have to have a strong stand up,
you know, bang down year coming into season two, and
you know, if there's somebody who can get those type
of players to come in there and be able to
turn it around, it's gonna be d on question is
are they going to be able to coach them well

(39:46):
enough for them to be able to win those big games.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
It's gonna be it's gonna be tough.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
Now, I will say, is it a success, yes, But
if this isn't a successful year, they started off really
hot and now they cannot win a game. They're getting
blown out I mean they got blown out by Washington
blown out.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
They got we beat them. Oregon State, they started hot, and.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
The Washington State, yeah yeah, and so and Washington State's
a good Washington State's a good football team. And so
they're gonna he's gonna have to recruit high school talent
up front. You're not getting the transfers in that can
come help you. If he can do that, he has
a chance that remains to be seen. First hour is over,

(40:35):
up on game. Fox Sports Radio will be back, y'all.
Make sure y'all stay tuned in. Locked in. That's Plexico Burs,
that's Leavar Arrington. I'm TJ Houshimzada. This is Fox Sports Radio.
