Let's give this part.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (00:34):

Tire rack dot com The way tire buying should be. Man, Jeff,

(00:54):
I just glanced over some bad news over here. So
I'm in a confidence pool, right, and so you pick
every game against the spread, and then you rank them. Yeah, yeah,
every game against the spread, and then you rank each
pick based on your confidence level. And so I glanced
down and some of these the lines are little stale,

(01:18):
so sometimes you can take advantage of them.

Speaker 5 (01:20):
Sometimes they take advantage of you.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Okay, And I look at Dallas in my confidence pool.
They're only favored by ten and a half. It's risen
what three points? We're at thirteen and a half right now.
I love Washington plus thirteen and a half. I don't
know if I'm taking them plus.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
Ten and a half. I am, but I don't love
it nearly as much.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
I wonder if you did the research on like closing
line value in this pool, because that'd be interesting, right,
Like if you were like I would say that in
this instance, you take the Cowboys because the value is
just better on the Cowboys in this pool. But does
that matter? I mean, the CLV this year has been

(02:04):
almost non existent a lot of these games. Yeah, But
like because right, right, because the value in this is
taking the Cowboys, whether you like them tocover or.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Not, that's right, right, And that's the thing what's interesting
in this pool, Jeff, is just what you're explaining, there's
better value on the Cowboys. And you'd be shocked how
many times it doesn't matter. Many times where you're like, ah, man,
I was getting four more points with the stale confidence
pool line and I still was on the wrong side.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
I mean, my my thing is is in this game specifically,
I think it's either like a seven point game or
twenty one point cowboy win. Yeah, Like, do you see
middle ground?

Speaker 4 (02:47):
I really don't because if you look at Washington, they
haven't been a middle ground team. Yes, they played the
Eagles tough twice, like these are one possession games. If
they went for two on the road, ode they might
have beaten Philadelphia.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
Correct, So those are close, hard fought games.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
I could see today being something similar to that, or
I could see him getting boat raced, like neither would
surprise me at all with Washington.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
No, it wouldn't either. So I think I'm curious about, like,
what what do we see? What do we get from
Washington today? Because while I saw the report, you know,
Ron Rivera is not being let go today, but you know,
Josh Harris, the new Commander's owner, is just is not
He's not gonna be the quarterback next season, so the
quarterback the head coach next season. So it depends on

(03:36):
kind of you know, when you decide to make that
move and if it goes south quickly. Today is today
is this is this? Just do it now and get
over with. Give you be the job for a couple
of weeks. See what he can do.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Yeah, normally it's Black Monday right after the season. It
might be Black Friday.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
It could well yeah, I mean it makes sense, right,
I mean if Rivera, if this just goes south quickly,
So the mind said. The team I think is important
in this game as well. Cowboys we know are like
extreme front runners. They are great when they're ahead. And
if that, if that becomes the case, this game could
go south very quickly.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Yeah, they've blasted bad teams, blasted them. You look at
what the Cowboys have on their resume, and it's real
quick here. So they beat the Jets by twenty right,
remember that in week two at home they beat the
Patriots by thirty five. They beat the Rams by twenty three,
they beat the Giants by thirty two. They worked the

(04:37):
Panthers last week, so mean by thirty two.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
And forty can it's wild right they've done Yeah, so
I am again. I the game feels like it's either
going to be a close you know, the Sam happling
out of his mind. They don't turn the ball over
Cowboys just sort of have a a malaise to them
in this game, maybe and it's closed or they're just

(05:04):
gonna smoke them.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Yeah, you know what I like with getting all those
points with Washington. I love from a betting perspective that
they were embarrassed last week. I think the power of
embarrassment in the NFL is a real thing. And also
think about this, the risk of embarrassment. It's not just
getting embarrassed by the Giants last week when Washington was

(05:28):
at home. It's Thanksgiving Day, national stage only game going on,
and the Cowboys, who have routinely worked bad teams, they
know that they're in jeopardy of getting embarrassed again this
time on Thanksgiving when the football world is watching like that,

(05:49):
that's a lot of motivation right there.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
And we know that the numbers have shown over the
years that teams coming off embarrassing law end up playing better.
But it is worth noting like three weeks, two weeks
before the Washington they lost the Giants fourteen you know,

(06:13):
fourteen seven, like an embarrassing game, and didn't come back
against them and beat them. You know, Like I don't, right,
I don't know if it like still I don't know.
I don't know if it might. Yeah, not a play of
them play everyone else.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
But well, I mean that that fourteen to seven loss
against the Giants. The next week they played the Eagles tough. Yeah,
they play played them tough.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
That's a touchdown game, you know. So I don't know,
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
I'm siding with embarrassment over here. I'm gonna side with
Washington if you give me thirteen and a half, that's
just too many points for me to turn down. And
look they lose by three touchdowns, so I'll take it
on the chin.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
But al with you, No, I'm on that alone. I agree, like,
that's just a lot of points in any NFL game
whether and Washington's not a team that is They're not
the Panthers, like they're not. They're not bad where you
have to you know, Sam, how is competent enough to
keep you in a game?

Speaker 5 (07:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (07:06):
At huge game tonight for Seattle. When you look at
their schedule, Jeff, these next four games, listen to this gauntlet.
Niners tonight at home at the Cowboys at the Niners Philadelphia.
So as it stands right now, the Seahawks' opponents their
next four games, they face teams with records of seven

(07:27):
and three, seven and three, seven and three, nine and one.

Speaker 5 (07:31):
That is a gauntlet right there. So if you're talking.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
About their playoff chances, this is a gotsta have it
game when you consider what's coming up next. They're at Dallas,
theat San Francisco the next two games, and then Philly
back at home.

Speaker 5 (07:47):
That that's brutal right there.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
It does feel like Seattle no playoffs is a decent
wager to make, right now. Yeah, could be the thing
about it is that if you go no playoffs, who
is the play who's taking their spots? It's probably it's
probably the Rams.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Rams would be there. Listen, which four and six team
do you love? There are four of them. You got
the Packers, the Rams, the Falcons, and Tampa.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Well, I get the best quarterback and coach. If Stafford's
healthy with the Rams, right, that's that's But his health
is just you know, every game that looks like he's
gonna he's gonna be an injured reserve. That's the problem
with with that, right like you, I think you would.
I think we'd agree, like you, Sean McVay, Matt Stafford
signed me up. But are we sure they're going to
be healthy.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
The thing is with these NFC South teams, the Falcons,
for instance, they don't face a team with the winning
record the rest of the season. Now that could change,
Like they face the Saints twice who are five and five,
but there's nobody that has a winning record right now. Yeah,
they face the Jet's, they face Tampa, they face the Bears,

(09:03):
they face Carolina. That's a lot of favorable matchups and
who's gonna be like, oh, Falcons playoffs. Yeah, they've got
a legitimate shot based on who they're playing. Their schedule
is much more favorable than Seattle's is.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Yeah, but it's Arthur Smith and Desmond Ridder yikes.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
Or heinikey? What are we doing right now?

Speaker 2 (09:27):
They're back to Ridder?

Speaker 5 (09:28):
Right, they're back to him. Is heinicky messed up? Is
he hurt?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
No?

Speaker 5 (09:31):
They just went, oh gosh, you.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Can put your money on that, but you're harder money.
That's the money that we're we get. Do you get
paid for today? Right? So yeah, this the money you've
earned today. You're gonna throw that on the Falcons.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
Consider it a free roll.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
You know, they could they could have gone with somebody
else filling in today, we might not even have this money.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Jeff right, Yeah, exactly, you're right.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
And then let's try to triple it.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
What are the odds on the Falcons making the playoffs
right now or something?

Speaker 5 (10:00):
We looked at this quadruple even better?

Speaker 2 (10:03):
I thank the Saints. No, no, then the Bucks were
at four hundred, the Falcons were somewhere like plus two
hundred is range?

Speaker 5 (10:09):
Are you serious? Wow?

Speaker 2 (10:11):
No, no, yeah, because the Saints are like sort of
the heavy favorites in the.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
Right right, Okay, so Atlanta is about four to one
for to one.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
I don't know, I'm just asking I I haven't seen
the the playoff odds. Yeah, someone who's gross right now
could sneak into the playoffs. Listen, another big game if
we're talking about this, it's the Packers today. It's a
bigger game for the Packers than it is for the Lions. Yes,
in terms of getting into the playoffs. Right, you could
talk about seating for the Lions and all of that,

(10:43):
but the Packers they're at Detroit today. Oh, by the way,
they get the Chiefs next week. And then it gets
a little lighter. Giants, Tampa Panthers, they close out with
the Bears. They get the Vikings in there as well.
But I mean, look, if the Packers one of these
teams that sneaks into the playoffs, they're gonna have a

(11:04):
win that you didn't see coming and it changes the
playoff picture right there.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
But the Packer well does obviously. It's today.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
It's where you mentioned the Chiefs, Like, are teams still
fearful of the Chiefs? Is it like, oh man, that's
a loss right now? Or do you think teams are Yeah,
I can't thinking like now we've got to do is
just make sure that no one catches the football.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
It's like I think that a lot of teams feel like, hey,
if we can move the ball, we got a shot.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
You're like, it's weird.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
It's role reversal and fifty yards in that game they
move the ball, right, Well.

Speaker 5 (11:39):
That's what I mean.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
Like the Chiefs defense has been better than their offense
this season.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Absolutely. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
So that's what I mean is if you're an opponent
and you're like, hey, if we can figure out a
way to move the ball, we got a shot, and
normally you don't say that at all.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
With Kansas City, Yeah, I mean they have lost games
this year that with the opponent score twenty one, twenty one,
and twenty three. In one of those games, it was
actually really fourteen because you know, the Lions had to
pick six, so like they're the Chiefs are I mean,
those are games that you would have thought, you know,
they went all the time.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Yeah, I know it, right, it's crazy where they're getting
shut out in the second half, got shut out against
the Dolphins, got shut out by the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
That's wild, man, that's wild.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
And it's it's amazing how much things can can shift.

Speaker 5 (12:30):
Right, just think about this. It's one catch.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
It's a if MVS makes the catch, we're looking at
the Chiefs totally differently.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
Yeah, but that's welcome to football, man, that's how it goes.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
The march of air in the NFL is very small.

Speaker 5 (12:45):
Yeah that that that that hurt right there.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
This one, well, it's unbelievable. Ten MILLI dollars a year due.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
It was right there right there, they had it and
then they didn't. Yeah, welcome to the NFL. All we
got a lot more to do coming up next.

Speaker 4 (13:04):

(15:45):
So Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett has weighed in here, Jeff,
the Steelers fired their offensive coordinator, Matt Canada, and this
is crazy.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
It's the first time since.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
Nineteen forty one coach or coordinator has been fired in season.
Gotta go all the way back to forty one before
Matt Canada got the acts this week, and Kenny Pickett,
the Steelers quarterback, said, you hate to see it. You
don't want to see one of your coaches lose their job.
We all got to be better, and it would start.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
With him, I would say, Jeff, I mean, you look
at Kenny Pickett.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
His passer rating is twenty seventh in the NFL right now.
His passer rating is worse than Mac Jones, the Patriots quarterback.
And you look at what Kenny Pickett has. He's got
George Pickens, he's got Deontay Johnson.

Speaker 5 (16:38):
You can do a whole lot worse than that.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
Najee Harris behind him, like he's got to be better
than what he's doing. And look, I understand you make
a change. It wasn't working with Matt Canada. But a
lot of fans act like this is this is gonna
just do wonders for them, This is gonna unlock the offense.
It like, what are you gonna do if Kenny Pickett

(17:02):
is inaccurate, is inconsistent.

Speaker 5 (17:04):
There's only so much a play caller can do, So.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
They didn't have this correct that Tommy DeVito now has
more multi touchdown games and can he Pickkett has an
ex career, right, someone say number like that at least
or this season? At least I should say he's got
six touchdowns total this season? Can he Pikett does passing?
I'm just not sure if a coordinator change, and they

(17:32):
certainly need one, because the offense just does things where
it's like what do you what are you doing? A
weird play call in the situation they threw a swing
pass on second and eleven last weekend. You know, they
have routes where guys run into each other and comes
run of the same area. It's just an uncomfortable offense.

(17:53):
They don't use Jayalen Warren. Every time warn comes in,
he runs the ball well and they just take them
out for long stretches of time. Yeah, but I think
it's fair to say it. I was wrong about Kenny Pickett.
I thought he had a better season. He's just not.
The dude just not. He's not. He's gone worse in
the second season, the same sort of I think we
saw that spark he had last year at times doesn't

(18:14):
have it now, So I a coordinator change will change.
I think the play sequencing, you get a better you
won't have some of the again, the the like what
are we doing here? May maybe it does, but it
doesn't change Canny Pickett materially enough to change my opinion

(18:35):
on how he's played this season, or I think he'll
be someone someone different the last six months of the season.

Speaker 4 (18:40):
Right, Yeah, that's I know they're channing fire Canada. They
were at a Pittsburgh Penguins game, and think about that.
They're at a hockey game, channing fire Canada, you know,
And I hear you on the sequencing, and they've looked
goofy at times for sure. But at the end of
the day, Kenny Pickett is just a guy and there's

(19:03):
only so much you can do as a play caller
with the quarterback that is just a guy. And so
that's the thing. I know, this becomes incredibly popular to
just fire this guy. And I'm not against. I'm not
saying stick with something that isn't working. I'm just saying,
don't have your expectations up as if this is gonna

(19:24):
unlock everything. This would be like putting in Tim Boyle.
Or you think Tim Boyle is gonna unlock the Jets offense,
he's not. You think putting in a new play caller
is gonna unlock the Steelers offense, It isn't.

Speaker 5 (19:37):
It's not going to happen. So I don't know.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
Until they find a quarterback that's upper echelon, it's you're
gonna get something similar to what you have gotten with
the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
I think you want to see a lot of times,
you want to see just improvement in young players, right,
And maybe that the fire mat Canna is because they
just needs to They feel like there needs to be
they're not seeing the improvement, can't pick and they want
to see more of it, right, And it could be
as simple as we just need different to design an offense.
For him and just it has to be different because

(20:08):
we need you, we need to see that improve, but
you just haven't seen it this year. Right, there are
times where young players are gonna have bad games and
bad moments, and it's totally acceptable if it's done sort
of around improvement in your game and can't Pickens hasn't
done that, And I don't know. I don't think Ohc's
gonna change for it. I don't think not this year.
Maybe next year, but I don't think I knew it was.

(20:28):
He's gonna change very much of that this year. His
throws are inaccurate at times. You know, he's not finding
the open guy again. Maybe some new coaching blood will
will help him with that, let him see things differently.
Design you know, there's certainly a case to make that
you we design better plays for him, allow him to
just have a less options. You know, give throw to

(20:52):
freaking George Pickens is incredible. Yeah, that becomes the offense
that that would work though, that's much better what they
have now. Put it like that.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
Man, And you think about Mike Tomlin.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
He's a straight shooter, right, He's like the improvements were
not rapid enough or consistent enough for us to proceed,
you have to score touchdowns in this business. And he's right,
he's right about that. But you also think about the
playoff picture, Jeff. The Steelers right now are the seventh
seed their playoff team right now.

Speaker 5 (21:23):
Yeah, and you.

Speaker 4 (21:24):
Look at their remaining schedule. They play Cincinnati this weekend
on the road, right and no Joe Burrow. Then you've
got Arizona and the Patriots. You get a couple of
five and five teams right now, Colts, Bengals again. Then
he closed with the Seahawks and Ravens, and who knows
Week eighteen. Maybe the Ravens are locked in to their

(21:48):
seed whatever it happens to be, and they're resting guys.
So I mean it's potentially as Steelers, if they could
just find their offense enough, they could sneak in as
a playoff team, but are also a candidate to fall
right out of there with the Bills on their heels.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
I have them over and a half wins. I sing,
you get to nine wins, we're good.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
The well, Cardinals, Patriots, that's a good place to start.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Right They also have the Bengals this weekend, who are
without their starting quarterback, Like are you to lose again
to another backup quarterback.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
Man, yeah, right, back to back weeks, lose to DTR
then you lose to who is the guy Brown?

Speaker 2 (22:29):
Former Washington quarterback?

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Yeah, shout out Pac twelve Right, oh yeah, Jake extensively over.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
This is the last weekend of Patoll football.

Speaker 5 (22:40):
Isn't that insane? Well, technically we get two more years
with the.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Mountain West schedule they're playing.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we get a two year transitional
period with two teams.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Last weekend of the Pactro Conference in nineteen I think
it is nineteen fifteen.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
That's a conference.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Man.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
I still can't get over how it just it crumbled
in what seemed like a couple of days.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
And you know what's wild is like this year the
Pac twelve has had incredible TV rating. So take out
Colorado just like the other teams. It's been a great.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
Year people, right there.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
They should have a team for sure in the College
Football playoff.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Correct, don't have one unless Washington loses this weekend. But yeah,
they're gonna have a team, and I don't think they're
lose this weekend.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
Right, Yeah, it's dude, it's this year is to me, like,
why are we doing this? Why don't we still have
a pack twelve, a real pack twelve going forward?

Speaker 2 (23:39):
You know, it's trust me. I mean my radio job
in Pactor Radios will not be there much longer. Just
like just it's like not my doing. It's not like
I got fired because we did a bad show. We
just don't. There's no conference next year to be part of.

Speaker 5 (23:54):
It's kind of like me in Portland. You know, I
was doing a local show and the station just went away.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
I was like, my ratings weren't bad, it's just they're
just gone. It's not there. My high school isn't there anymore.
I'm getting old Jet.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
But your high school disappeared.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
Yeah, it's no longer a high school. It's something else.
It's like, uh, I don't even know what it is.
It's either a grade school or like a military type
school or something. It's not high school like the way
it was anymore.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
Sad sad yeah it uh, I mean it's it's my
high school never going away. So I know that my
high school is just too too bouge to go away.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
Oh really, I ty brow like that.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Look up Pacific Palisades High School. You're a little a
little Google search on on that bet. We used to.
We used to have basketball practice and for punishment run
down to the beach and get a cup of sand
and bring it back.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
Are you serious?

Speaker 4 (24:51):
Yeah, okay, yeah, I gotcha. Because you grew up in
LA I was thinking for a second, I forgot that
you didn't grow up in Charlotte, Right.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
But this is my high school? Is it's a public
high school though not even a private high school. Yeah. Yeah,
I didn't even live in the palace. It's either this
is I had to drive there, I got. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
so we were. Yeah, we have a blue track now
and everything at the high school. Yeah, there was no
my high school and go nowhere.

Speaker 5 (25:22):
But like that it feels good to say that, right,
I can't say that it's gone.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
It feels it feels weird to say that I drove
along the beach every day to and from high school,
and like I didn't even.

Speaker 5 (25:37):
Like it didn't dawn on you. This was super awesome.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
Yeah, until I left and I was like, oh and
now I go back, I'm like, yeah, that's pretty cool.
I used to just like drive along the beach every
day of my life for four years to get to
it from high school.

Speaker 5 (25:53):
Have you ever have you stopped by Pepperdine just to
check it?

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Yeah, I've been up there. It's a malibi.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
Yeah, dude, I went there with my mom one time.
She came out to visit and we're just driving around.
We made it to Pepperdine. It is freaking insane. Literally,
the baseball field overlooks the ocean.

Speaker 5 (26:12):
It's gorgeous. I'm like, no wonder they're good in baseball.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
You always see Pepperdine in the you know, the college
World Series and all that.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Yeah, they had there on the top of a hill
in Malibu. Yeah, they had the fire there come recently,
Like they get all hands on deck to say Pepperdine.

Speaker 5 (26:27):
Oh man, wow, I didn't know that.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
That's great. Yeah. Yeah, some of the I think some
of the exterior buildings burned down a couple of years ago.
But yeah, Pepperdine is yeah, right in Malibu. I mean,
imagine that's a private school. I mean my high school
was publicly, so yeah, you know it was uh yeah,
Pepperdine is super nice. Malibu's interesting.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
I got a college football question for you. Yeah, right
around the corner. Let's work in Kevin Wirt here. First, though, keV,
what's going on?

Speaker 5 (26:56):
Man? Happy Thanksgiving? Are you eating? Are you hitting turkey? Oh?

Speaker 7 (26:59):
Yeah, but these updates are well just a little bit
of turkey, just a little, gotta put a little gravy
on it, some stuffing, but just a little. I gotta
save room for my families that Thanksgiving lunch for having
in a few hours. So I don't want to fill
myself too full yet because I gotta save room for
what's coming later. And as a guy who grew up
taking the bus with a surfboard to the beach and

(27:20):
then moved to North Carolina, I completely relate to what
you said, not realizing how awesome it is until you
left that that that described me going to high school
and moving to North Carolina.

Speaker 5 (27:32):
It's weird. So you kind of like a similar life.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Arc Is Jeff growing up in Cali now in North
Carolina right there.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Wow, I did move back here though after five years.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Though, so I'm pretty sure you're in Los Angeles again.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
Yes, I did live in Witston Salem for five years though.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Yeah, that'd be a big change.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Yeah, yeah, as you can imagine.

Speaker 7 (27:53):
So yeah, no, when you said that, I'm like, oh,
that that was the story of my adolescens going into
young adulthood there. So anyway, we do have a triple
header of NFL action today. We do get an update
from Ian Rappaport regarding the middle of the three games
between Washington and the Dallas Cowboys. Rico Donnell who's questionable.
He's been limited with an ankle injury. He is expected

(28:14):
to play, so he'll be at tandem in that backfield
with Tony Pollard. Regarding other injury news, the Packers ruling
out Aaron Jones for the first game against the Lions.
I'll kick off at twelve thirty, so Jones will not
be on the field. Yesterday, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll
did say he expects quarterback Gino Smith to start in
the night game against the forty nine Ers. This comes

(28:37):
after Smith missed most of that fourth quarter against the
Rams last Sunday. He had a shoulder injury that he
sustained after taking a big hit while throwing from Aaron Donald.
And we got some NBA action for you last night.
The day before Thanksgiving, had a full slate in the Association.
The Celtics over the Bucks one nineteen one to sixteen
in a huge Eastern Conference showdown as Jalen Brown had

(28:59):
two twenty six points eight assists to help Boston move
to twelve and three on the year, six and.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Oh at home. Timberwolves also off to a hot start threre.

Speaker 7 (29:06):
Eleven and three, seven and oh at home after they
beat the seventy six ers one twelve to ninety nine.
Nuggets fall to the Magic one twenty four, one nineteen
in spite of yet another triple double from the Joker,
Nikola Jokis thirty points, thirteen rebounds, twelve assists Heat over
the Cavaliers one twenty nine to ninety six. Pelicans beat

(29:27):
the Kings one seventeen one twelve, Clippers over the Spurs
one oh nine, one oh two, And the most interesting
thing happened not during the actual gameplay, but with the
head coach Greg Popovich grabbing the microphone when fans were
booing Kawhi Leonard and he implored the crowd to stop,
saying this is not.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
Who we are.

Speaker 7 (29:44):
Well, the crowd began to boot louder, but it seemed
to fuel Kawhi Leonard. He had a twenty six points,
leading the way for the Clippers in the win. As
La has now won three in a row. Sons over
the Warriors won twenty three one fifteen. Chris Paul's return
to the desert ends hastily, as he picked up a
couple of quick technical fouls in that second quarter and
got himself ejected. Sons are now nine to five on

(30:06):
the season, Warriors now just seven and nine, and the
Mavericks and the Lakers. The Lakers were down twenty at
the end of the third, came back took the lead
even with it just about a minute to go by
two points within Kyrie Irving with a dagger three pointer
to retake the lead. With a few seconds to go,
Lakers would turn it over. Irving would seek another couple
of free throws to win the game for Dallas. One

(30:28):
o four, one oh one Dot to you.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
Guys, Thanks keV, Brian not Jeff Schwartz with you here
on Fox Sports Radio in for two pros and a
cup of Joe.

Speaker 5 (30:37):

of the day here it is Hi.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
We're eight points tonight, three or five from there, it
is only three. Excuse me for a second. Pops on
the mic and let these guys play those last.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
It's not who we are. Knock off the booing.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
I'm telling the fans to lay off Kawhi Leonard. But
that's not San Antonio.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
Yeah, compliments of Belly Sports Southwest right there, Pop getting
on the mic and saying, hey, stop booing Kawhi, let's
cut this out.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
It's I think that's an odd decision to do that
and go on. It's it's just I'm surprised he did that.

Speaker 5 (31:35):
I am too.

Speaker 4 (31:36):
I am and I'm not does that make sense where
it's odd that he did it, But if anyone were
to do it, it would be Pop, who's just like,
I'm gonna do this right now, the hell with it?

Speaker 5 (31:47):
Right? I think that was his mindset.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
The case, But still just I'm just surprised.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Yeah, it's weird in professional sports. My college football question
for you, and we can pick it back up here,
but are you gonna miss the college football playoff at all?
And the reason I ask that is the race this
year for these final four teams is gonna be spectacular.
You get all these undefeated teams jockeying trying to get in.

(32:16):
There are only four chairs. The music's gonna stop, right
who's not gonna have a chair to sit on? And
if you've got twelve teams in the playoff, that part
will be cool when we get it next year. But
what we're gonna miss out on is the chase right now.
Right imagine if we had twelve teams right now, Jeff,
this chase down the stretch wouldn't be nearly as dramatic

(32:39):
as it's gonna be.

Speaker 5 (32:40):
So that part of it I will miss.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
So you're not gonna you're not gonna miss debating about
whether like Oregon State's in the playoffs or not at
twelve and Tennessee and all these tennis I know is
much lower now, but miss and LSU and you're not
gonna like that debate. Yeah. Look, it's funny because I
am not a propon of twelve team play. I don't
really think it's something that sport needs. I mean, I'll

(33:03):
watch these games, but and then kind of the the
football gods spighting me this year for my take by
making sure the eight teams are are good. You're gonna
college able playoff teams this year. But yeah, I mean
it would look Alabama Georgia next weekend is basically a
playing game, right, Georgia wins there in, Alabama wins there in. Yeah,
Oregon Washington. If Oregon wins tomorrow night, then Oregon Washington

(33:25):
play in the Packtone Championship game. The winner of that
game most likely into the playoff. You know, Michigan, Ohio
State play this weekend, big new kickoff twelve o'clock. Winner
of that game goes to the playoff. Texas has to
obviously play at this point. I don't know, the big
twelve time Bakers are kind of funky, but someone and
you know, they have to win that game to get

(33:45):
into a playoff. So those games become irrelevant because guess what,
Alabama is eleven and two. They're in the playoff. Texas,
you know, Oregon and Washington, they're all in the playoff.
Michigan Ohiose State both in the playoff off. And yeah,
the drama is done to me. Florida State loses, they're out,
So there's just so much drama left still, but it

(34:06):
won't matter at all, in twelve team.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
Playoffs, right, And that's my thing is I think with
the college football Playoff, all the focus.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
Was on what it wasn't, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
It's like, well, we don't have more than four teams,
And remember when Baylor and TCU were on the outside
looking in years ago, and it was always viewed for
what it wasn't. And I think with it finally going
away now some people are looking at it for what
it is, and it makes these last couple of weeks

(34:37):
in the college football season this year a lot more
impactful and a lot more interesting because think of it, Georgia,
they could lose the SEC title game before we've got
twelve teams. They could lose the SEC title game, and
it's like a shoulder shrug, big deal. They're in the
twelve team playoff. I don't know if that's the case. Yeah,
if they get in, if they lose to Alabama, that's

(34:59):
interest man.

Speaker 5 (35:00):
So that part of it I'll miss.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
The one thing that I think I will enjoy a
twelve team playoff as a fan of my organ team.
You're no dame guy, yeah, is that one loss does
feel like at the end of the season, no doubt
maybe even two don't feel like at the end of
the season.

Speaker 4 (35:17):
And don't get me wrong, I can't wait to see
the twelve teams duke it out on the field.

Speaker 5 (35:23):
Correct, and that's gonna be great.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
But you do lose some of that regular season magic
that makes college football so great, where.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
You know, you lose one game, we Rnvali a game,
and you know we're gonna lost to Washington, like if
we had lost one more game, a game we could
still lose tomorrow, Like that's it, You're done. So it
makes those games and I think the NFL and college
football are some of our favorite sports because of the
sense of urgency, right. And you know, you know Lakers
as me at Lakers, Chiefs and Eagles tell a playoff game, right.

(35:53):
You don't get that in the NBA in the rever season.
In college football, right, a big game feels like a
playoff because it sort of is. So you lose that game,
you're out. I mean, you know, LSU Florida State Week one.
You know, let's use out of the playoff picture because
not particularly because of that game, but that's one of
their losses, right in, Florida State's in the picture right now.

(36:13):
I mean Florida State right now without the LSU win.
If they had scheduled you know, Louisiana North Tech South State,
they might not be in the playoff discussion right now,
but they have the LSU win.

Speaker 5 (36:24):
Yeah, no doubt about that, all right.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
Coming up next on Two Pros and a Cup of
Joe live from the Tirack dot Com Studios. Can I
interest you in what I think could be.

(37:18):
All right, Jeff, so we got these three NFL games
today and I've got a potential degenerate bet for you. Okay,
I'm looking at Washington's point total, so taking on the Cowboys.
They're on the road, so this is straight degenerate. But

(37:39):
their first quarter team total is set at point five. Well,
Washington have scored in the first quarter. I think there's
a great chance they do. Now here's the thing, this
is why it's a gamble.

Speaker 5 (37:55):
And you know this, Jeff.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
If the Cowboys get the ball first, then Washington might
only have one possession in the first quarter. It's possible
that's the case. If they don't score on that one possession,
then your screw.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
You only get two possessions a quarter.

Speaker 4 (38:12):
Yeah, okay, then maybe they sneak in a second one there.

Speaker 5 (38:16):
If they don't, you know, get the ball to start.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
The game, your field goal, you think they get shut
out and the Let me ask you this, which one
do you like better? Do you like first quarter Washington
over half a point or first half Washington over seven
and a half?

Speaker 2 (38:36):
Oh for seven? First half? Seven and a half?

Speaker 5 (38:38):
You like first half?

Speaker 2 (38:39):
Bet? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (38:40):
More more leeway, right, yeah, you get more?

Speaker 2 (38:43):
Yeah, you also get a chance of like a two
minute drive at the end, like a hectic two minute
drive to get yeah score, get a field goal to touchdown.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
Yeah, I you know, call me crazy. I like the
first quarter bet also.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
Do it?

Speaker 5 (38:59):
Would you take it? Or did you take the first half?

Speaker 2 (39:01):
Bet?

Speaker 5 (39:01):
There?

Speaker 2 (39:02):
Dude, I take every bet, but on everything you try
to parlay the first quarter in the first half?

Speaker 5 (39:09):
Can do that?

Speaker 2 (39:10):
Can we can we make a market for that. We
call our buddies the bet MGM and get a market
made for that one. Right, Yeah, I uh, I'm gonna
probably throw together some sort of teaser today. Yeah. By
the way, we were on my bare Bets podcast with

(39:30):
with Chris Filica. We were joking about finding a way
to you know, to play with the Iowa Nebraska total
this weekend, which was like twenty six. Okay, yeah, so
I haven't done this a long time. I did a
thirteen point teas and I took that total down to
thirteen and bet the over.

Speaker 5 (39:54):
Watch it be seven to three or something.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
Just grud did it? I did it thirteen? How about
for degenerate you ready? Yeah, a thirteen point tas it
was plus one fifty maybe five? Team ready?

Speaker 5 (40:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (40:10):
I took Iowa Nebraska to thirteen and a half over
thirteen and a half, Ohio State Michigan down to thirty
two and a half. It took the over okay, because
that game has been high scoring for many years now.
I took Organ down to zero, Utah from twenty one
and a half to eight and a half, and Arizona

(40:33):
from minus ten and a half to plus three in
college football. So I'm a five team teaser, and I
just because I just want to get that number to
thirteen and a half and see if they could score
over thirteen and a half points.

Speaker 5 (40:45):
That's awesome, man, I love.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
So It's so degenerate though.

Speaker 4 (40:49):
I love those games where Notre Dame is taken on
Stanford and the line is like twenty four in a hook.
I love the idea of which side are you going
to go with? Are you gonna go with Notre Dame
say minus eleven and a half? Are you gonna go
with Stanford plus thirty seven and a half?

Speaker 5 (41:07):
You know you might be fine on both ends, really,
but I like that.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
I will probably wager on Stanford under thirteen and a
half points.

Speaker 5 (41:16):
Yeah, I don't know how the scored.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
They don't score anyways, and like Notre Dame plays good defense.

Speaker 4 (41:22):
How crazy was that comeback against Colorado on the road?
Were they shut out at halftime? Ye twenty they came back.

Speaker 5 (41:28):
That was insane, man, that was craaz.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
I mean, Stanford has scored out of Washington. They've scored
almost nothing against good football teams. You know, they scored
fifteen against cow which has a terrible defense, seventeen itst
Oregon State ten in a win at Washington. Those are
the last three games, ten, seventeen to fifteen. They scored
thirty three against Washington. Then then the week before that's

(41:52):
seven against good UCLA defense, six against Oregon.

Speaker 5 (41:56):
Crazy.

Speaker 4 (41:57):
Hey, By the way, before we go, Jeff, maybe a
shout out to Shaq Leonard, former Colts linebacker. He was
released and he was still handing out turkeys in Indianapolis.

Speaker 5 (42:09):
I thought that was awesome. How cool is that?

Speaker 2 (42:11):
Why do he get released?

Speaker 5 (42:12):
I don't know, Well, it's crazy, Jim irsay, that's.

Speaker 2 (42:16):
One of the oppressed, our oppressed.

Speaker 4 (42:19):
Cress oppressed white billionaire owner. I know times are tough, man,
It's not all it's cracked up to be.

Speaker 5 (42:25):
Being a white billionaire enjoyed Thanksgiving
