football love that's right.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Yeah, So you go H with Schmorgas Sport. I go Smorgasbord.
I think it's a tomato tomato thing. I'm not correcting you.
It's just you know, I like.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
What, I go Schmorgasport. How do you go?

Speaker 3 (01:28):
I go smorgaspoord. I think it's I've.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Never seen it spelled before. I have no idea.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
I think it's spelled s M. But a lot of
people go with the H, which I think is fine.
It's just a preference type thing.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Interesting. Yeah, I don't know. I forgot. Today's Black Friday,
and it's a day where I'm just going to spend
money for no reason because it's some stuff's on sale.

but it's it's twenty it's a deal Soliday.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
What do you think you might you might buy today?
Why you're watching college football and all?

Speaker 2 (02:01):
I don't know. I have more radio this afternoon, so
that's probably what I'll give.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
A little piece of double dipping today.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
I got my PAC twelve show, buddy, it's you know,
it's a PAC twelve game. Day, we got we got
a game tonight in the pack. Well, yeah, we got
Oklahoma TCU at noon on Fox and then we have
the monster Iowa in a BRASSLA contest twenty twenty four
and a half points.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Is that what it's down to?

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Now?

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Yeah? I think that's what I'm gonna check. I'm gonna
check the wager talk. I think it's it's it says
a twenty four and a half on on on Fox Sports.
For the thing, let's see it. The twenty four and
a half guys is like the lowest total by five
points I think in history. And I mean people are

(02:47):
let's see here, Yeah, I see twenty four, twenty five,
twenty four and a half. I mean, how do you
not like tease? Even just a regular teas And I
know collegetaball teachers aren't really a thing, but wow, wow,
that's wild.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
That's the thing to me, is like Nebraska growing up
against Iowa's defense. That's the thing. It's possible Nebraska scores
three points, maybe six. I don't think it's outside the
realm of possibility. They get shut out right like, and

(03:25):
how many points is Iowa going to score?

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Easy? Thing? Iowa has nothing to play for in this game,
Nebraska's playing for.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Bull birth, that's true. Home, Nebraska's at home.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Yeah. This is the thing about what makes this weekend
very interesting college football is the there's a lot in
collegeables different the NFL where you think you absolutely wager
on emotion in college football, right, I'm sure that you
do as well. And there's a lot of spots where
your emotion plays a factor in sort of the games. Right.

(03:59):
So for example, the first game TC Oklahoma. No, I
don't think you blindly bet on teams to cover games
that need to win to make a ball it's probably
but TCU again, five and six Oklahoma nine into Oklahoma,
I believe is out of the Big twelve. There's like
a weird big tom as a weird tie breaker system. Yeah,
but so but they still have to obviously play to

(04:21):
get into but they might without Jackson excuse me, without
Dan Gabriel today, and I have Jackson Arnold playing for
them much in Nebraska, right, five and six Matt Rowlands
first year, I'm sure we love nothing more than to
you know, to get to get himself, you know, a
ball board, especially with with the way they started. So
there's just a lot of things in college football that

(04:42):
you wager on besides the exit, oh's a lot of
it does come to the emotion of the game.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Man, I'm just looking at Iowa. Here we are breaking
down Iowa Nebraska.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
I love this.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
What well I no, no, no, no, no, there's more
so Rutgers. They played Rutgers a couple of weeks ago.
They shut them out. I would pitch the shutout against Rutgers.
They gave up seven to Northwestern, six to Wisconsin. Here's
a bet for you, Jeff, I just saw this on
bet MGM. Both teams to score ten or more points.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Oh under yeah, no, no, it.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Is minus one forty five. There's a little bit of juice,
little tax, but you gotta go no on that, right,
both teams scored ten or more. No things ten ten.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
If you score ten, you're at a push or you
win the win the bet.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
It would be a push. No, no, no, you would right.
If you say yes, you would win. Like if both
teams scored ten, you would win.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
If you say no, say no, no, one can get
one team cannot get to double digits.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Okay, all right, interesting.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
I say no, I say no. There's one that doesn't I.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Mean you can get I'm looking at alternate alternate numbers here.
It's incredible that don't might.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Here's one for you. This is great. Both teams score
twenty or more. No is minus three thousand. You'd have
to risk three thousand dollars to win one hundred dollars.
That's how much of a long shot it is that
both teams would crack twenty points apiece.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
I mean, geez, under eleven and a half is plus
five point fifty.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Wow? Oh man, really you know what I would?

Speaker 2 (06:30):
I would be okay doing it. Here we go under
thirteen and a half. So the game is ten to three, okay,
plus four hundred?

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (06:40):
I might do I might. You know, I'm gonna do
a tony. I'm gonna do sprinkle on that.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
I'm gonna do a little peanut bet.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Yeah, peanut bet, so cracks.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Peanut bet is five hundred dollars. What's a peanut bet
to you?

Speaker 2 (06:50):
They're twenty bucks? Twenty bucks like like like like that
thirteen point teaser you know.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Uh huh yeah yeah? For fun? I mean, what else
do we have going on today?

Speaker 2 (07:00):
We've got I mean, I mean I have organ sted
organ tonight, I haven't put a wager on that game
officially yet. Yeah, debating what to do or not.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Well, that's the big one. That's definitely the game of the.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Tech is important tonight too, because if Texas loses, you know,
they're they're out of the playoff hunt. Yeah, and Texas
Tech has played better football won three straight games. They're
kind of you kind of evening out after you know,
it's a quarterback injuries early in the season, and you know,
for me, you know, it's a I kind of need
Texas Tech to win for Oregon because they played him

(07:32):
earlier this season. That would be a big win for
you know, straight to schedule and then also knocking Texas
out of uh of contention for a playoff spot, which
would be nice.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
I think the games today it's a little bit like
a Thanksgiving meal where I don't get too picky and choosy.
I'm just like it's a party. It's I'm just throwing
everything on my plate. I'll take a bit of everything,
you know what I mean. Yeah, That's that's how I
feel with the college slate today. Like I said, one
ranked versus ranked. There are thirteen games in FBS right,

(08:04):
thirteen games and there's one game featuring two ranked teams,
so you get some higher point spreads, get a couple
of games where you're like, it's not the sexiest matchup
right there. I don't know if you're racing out to
see Memphis in Temple, you know, but whatever comes my
way here, I'm cool with it.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
I will tell you what, though, Temple plus the points
might be a fun wager to make today.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Temple plus thirteen is what you're thinking.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Yeah, well, Memphis is eight and three, they have nothing
to play for, they're out of the AAC Championship game,
and they're going to I imagine Philly is not the
warmest of places today. It's a dead spot for Memphis,
could be. I mean, you might be right, you see,
like Boston College dead spot for Miami in my opinion, Like,

(08:53):
this is what I'm talking about with college football. So
let me throw let me throw out the Oregon State
organ thought I had, okay, ye, so obviously I went
played to Oregon NFL. You know, both schools both Organs
very well. So Oregon State entering the Washington did you
have an opinion on who to win the Washington Oregon
State game?

Speaker 3 (09:11):
I thought it would be Washington.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
Honestly same, I bet, I bet Washington, so we're on
the same page. They're perfect. Oregon State was seventeen and
one over the last three years at home during that game, okay,
they had lost to USC last year, that was it.
Now they were down thirty one ten or thirty one
thirteen Oregon last year and had that you know, the

(09:34):
big comeback right which you know, life happens. It's unfortunately
lost for Oregon, but they won. They're seventeen and one.
Two years ago they began the construction process to modernize
one side of their stadium. The other one had been done.
The other one was like a high school stadium side.
So last year they played in front of no fans
on that side, so there was like thirty thousand fans.

(09:55):
And this year they get their first full season in uh,
you know, in the new stadium.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Again great. They had been at the time, was a
ranked Utah team at home at the time, was a
ranked UCLA team at home, and they had done just
a good job at home. Their home road splits. Brian
are like, this is it's wild their home road splits
and I did this. I'm gonna pull up for you
right now. That let you know, because it's all going

(10:21):
to play until like the emotional part of the game tonight.
I think you wager on this. So they again the
last two years, the last two seasons there again one
loss home. This season, you're ready home road splits entering
the Washington game. At home average margin of victory forty

(10:42):
to twelve point eight, forty to twelve point eight at
home on the road thirty five to twenty eight. It's
a pretty big to sparreital defense, right. Yeah. Sure, last
season thirty six to seventeen and twenty six to twenty eight.
So my point is they are building up this Washington game.
The schedule worked out to where they were playing Washington
Organ end the season like boom boom, they lose. They

(11:04):
lose this game to Washington. They don't Washington scores no
points second half, and they still lose the game. And
I think heading into the Organ game on a short
week off, a physical game, coaching rumors about their coach
going to Michigan State, this feels like a dead spoff Oregon State. Man.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Yeah, that's a tough one man.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Everything everything they wanted this year destroyed last weekend by
not winning that game.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
And they were right there.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
They were right there, Washington not scoring the second half.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Yeah, that's tough. It's tough to come back. Like we
always talk about the the emotional letdown off a win.
I mean, we don't talk as often about the emotional
letdown off a crushing loss like that. And that's what
happened with the Beaves last week. They were right there,
like the weather, they're playing smash mouth football. It's a

(11:57):
lower scoring game, you know, and then Michael Junior in
Washington just hang on for dear life. That's just such
a crushing loss. It's tough to get up a second
straight week against Oregon. That's a tough test for Oregon State.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Man Big. It's also it's also hard because you know,
again like the physicality of Oregon and having to meet
that week after you play a physical game with Washington.
A lot of teams don't have that depth. That's why
it becomes a struggle for you know, teams to play
in these conferences that don't have the depth, and right

(12:34):
now they don't have don't have a depth. The organist.
So I'm curious. I'm curious how this uh, you know,
how this one goes Tonight? I think Oregon handles it.
But you know, I'm an organ fan, so maybe not
the best person to talk about this all the time.

Speaker 3 (12:49):

We're in for two bros and a cup of Joe
right here, So Jeff. The playoff committee in college football
they voted for Washington ahead of Florida State. So Washington
they jumped up to number four, Florida State fell to

(15:41):
number five. Now, Florida State's quarterback Jordan Travis suffered this
gruesome leg injury. It's terrible against North Alabama last week,
and that's the end of his college career, right, It's terrible.
And the committee said, oh no, it had nothing to
do with Jordan Travis his injury. Why Washington leapfrogged Florida State. Really,

(16:05):
I'm supposed to believe it had nothing to do with it.
That's just hard to buy. I think if they would
have said, well, certainly that was considered, but when we
looked at Washington beating Oregon State on the road that
carried a lot of weight, that's a better way to
position it. That's a lot more believable than oh no, no,
the star quarterback being lost that had zero impact whatsoever.

(16:28):
That's not believable to come out with something like that.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Well, the problem with the way they did this was
the Huskies should have passed them two weeks ago, right,
and they didn't. And that is so now it looks

(16:56):
sort of silly when they passed them. Now they they
should have again, they should have passed them two weeks ago,
but they didn't, and now it looks like they got
passed because what happened, you know, because of the injury.
So if they had passed them when they should have,

(17:19):
then this won beat discussion. But the problem is that's
not the way it went. The way it went was
they passed them after join and Travis got hurt. Now,
if Florida State wins out, which is certainly possible, they
played Florida this weekend, a tough matchup, we're not just
starting quarterback, they should absolutely pass to mean they should
absolutely still remain in the playoff if they're thirteen and oh,

(17:42):
I don't care if the quarterback is there or not.
And they will get the opportunity obviously because Washington Georgia
and Misiterean Mohistale all have to play still very difficult
games ahead of them. So that's where I'm with Ford saying, like, yeah,
they dropped bind Washington, but they finished thirteen and oh
in a Power five conference. I don't care who the
quarterback is. They are going to the playoffs. It's all

(18:02):
that matters at the end. Obviously.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
Yeah, it's man, it's going to be really interesting to
see how it shakes out where think about the game
tomorrow between Ohio State and Michigan. Is the loser out
no matter what? You know what I mean, what if
this is a final field goal, you know field goal
in the final seconds, what do you do? There's gonna
be some really tough decisions potentially that have to be

(18:26):
made with the final four teams here.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
What depends what happens to the rest. So here's the thing.
If you the committee has always leaned on like a
twelve and one conference champion over a team that doesn't
make it, doesn't win their conference, and it's the wait,
look right, it's maybe not fair, but that's the way
it's set up now this year, though specifically to this season.

(18:48):
If Florida State wins out and Washington Oregon. You know,
Washington starteen to oh Oregon's twelve and one. Those teams
Texas twelve and one, bambatone. They are going ahead of Michigan.
The the loser of Michigan Ohio State. Just the way
it is, the Oregon has Oregon State ranked, Oregon State
and Washington Washington's being four ranked teams already. You know,

(19:11):
Texas beat Alabama on the road and maybe the best
one season. Now. I will argue that Alabama is a
different team now than when they play Texas. I would
take Texas. It's take Alabama to beat Texas right now,
but that's just not the way it works. So winning
the conference championship is hugely important. And if again, if
you don't do that, then you're just you're out of

(19:33):
luck twelve team playoffs next year, Brian, not a problem, right,
This is where we're at right now.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Yeah, that's the thing is. That's why it makes Ohio
State and Michigan such a monster game tomorrow. Is just
do the math, see how this is playing out. Jeff.
Let's say the loser, whoever it is, they don't go
to their conference championship game. They certainly don't win it.
They're not even there. If Florida State wins out, like
you said, they're thirteen to zero. If Texas wins out

(20:03):
and they're a conference champion with one loss, they're gonna
go in ahead of the loser of Ohio State Michigan.
So if you lose tomorrow's game between Ohio State and Michigan,
it would have to be almost flow bone, but flow foot,
full blown chaos. Yeah, for you to sneak your way in.

(20:23):
I just don't see that happening.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
The concern that I have as an Oregon fan is
Oregon wins out, Alabama wins out, Texas wins out, Florida
State wins out, So you have you know, the Big
Ten winner is gonna be undeated. They're gonna be Iowa.
Florida State's in, they're undefeated. Now you have three, we

(20:47):
really have four to one loss teams to consider. Georgia, Alabama,
and Alabama will have been the conference champion because they
beat and then you have Texas and Oregon. It's conference champions.
Oregon will have played the best schedule at the end,
right to play Oregon State in Washington. They're ahead of Texas,
and Alabama right now. But are you telling me that

(21:09):
like Texas being left out for Alabama, who they already beat.
Are you telling me that Bama is a twelve and one
Confence champions. So to me, Organ's the team that's out
in that situation. I think Organ right now is one
of the better teams in the country. So it's I
as an Organ fan, I'm rooting for Texas or at
Alabama to lose. At some point I need to Florida

(21:30):
State like someone's gonna lose to help Organ out.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
That's the thing is normally this time of year, when
there are all these just chaotic scenarios, I normally roll
my eyes and say, guys, it's not gonna be that chaotic.
It's going to work out this year, though, Jeff, We're
gonna get some chaos. It just the way it's shaped,
the way it's shaping up, They're just gonna be. They're

(21:56):
gonna be teams. There're gonna be more than four teams
that have have deserving resumes to be one of the
final four teams.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
Oh, absolutely right. And this is the thing that's like
this year we actually have had no chaos and the
preseason top fifteen Okay, they've played I think over one
hundred games now as a ten point favorite or more.
They've only lost two of them. Yeah, North Carol lost
Virginia and Climes and lost to someone else. So here

(22:24):
it was Duke. Maybe we haven't had chaos. The chaos
will be everyone does that, everyone wins, and what I mean, yeah,
has to figure it out in the final year of
the fourteen playoff.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
Some of this is gonna shake out, Like we just said,
Ohio State Michigan the loser of that, It's gonna shake
out somewhat. But there's gonna be something where it's like,
are we really leaving this team out of the playoff.
It's like, well, yeah, because the other team just by
a hair has a better resume. I feel like it's
gonna go down like that. And I also what I

(22:59):
know is the margin for error has been so slim
this year. Think about Texas. Texas lost a game to
Oklahoma that was remember at the very end there, Jeff
the last the touchdown in the last minute from Dylan Gabriel,
bought some time, find found a guy in the back
of the end zone the left corner right there. It's

(23:20):
the only game Texas is lost, that might keep him
out of the playoff like Alabama. Alabama, like you said,
lost in the second game of the year against Texas,
and obviously if they don't beat Georgia, they're on the
outside looking in the crazy That is a crazy scenario, though.
If Alabama beats Georgia in the SEC title game, they

(23:42):
could be in and Texas, who beat them, could be
on the on the outside looking at That's a wild scenario, man.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
How do you how do you justify that?

Speaker 3 (23:53):
You really can't. But you say, Alabama beat Georgia, the
number one team in the country. What are you bringing
to the table? Texas?

Speaker 2 (24:03):
You know, head a head, we already beat them.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
We beat them. But okay, what else Alabama would have beaten, Ole, Miss, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia,
all those teams are ranked Georgia's number one.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
That's a lot I actually, Organs the team would be
left out.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Man, that's wild right there. D guess how about the
Dogs though? If Georgia, let's again, last second field goal
loss in the SEC Championship game to Alabama, is Georgia
on the outside looking in, on the heels of two
national championships, and what would be at the time, what

(24:46):
would be like twenty nine game winning streak. Yeah, man,
that's crazy right there, That is wild all right. The
ball buffet continues. Got a lot more to look forward
to this weekend. Plus we've got Kevin Wyer with us
yere to spin us around the sports world. What's going on, CAV.

Speaker 7 (25:04):
Yeah, as we had some developing news happen in the
late night or early morning hours, depending on your perspective.
Was announced in South Africa. They said Friday, So it
was at their time locally on Friday that it was
announced that South African Paralympic athlete Oscar Pastorius. He was
jailed in twenty fourteen for the Valentine's Day twenty thirteen

(25:26):
murder of his girlfriend, Reva Stemcamp. He's been granted parole
effective on January fifth. That's according to the South African
Department of Correctional Services. So we spent less than a
decade in prison and come January fifth, he will be
a free man. As for the action state side, we
do have the first ever Black Friday NFL matchup between

(25:48):
the Dolphins and Jets. We do have an injury update
for you, as Tom pelliserov NFL Network saying that Dolphins
running back Devon ah Chan with his knee injury, not
expected to play today against New York. As for the
action last night on Thanksgiving, we had a triple header.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Only one of the games ended up being close.

Speaker 7 (26:06):
The Packers, though, looked like they were gonna run away
with it, as they got off to a twenty to
six lead after the first quarter twenty three to six
at halftime, and the Lions give them credit, they adjusted
only allowed Green Bay to score six points of that
second half, but their comeback falls just short by a
touchdown twenty nine to twenty two. Detroit eight and three
on the season. The Cowboys absolutely dismantled the Washington Commanders

(26:30):
forty five to ten. Dak Press got three hundred thirty
one passing yards four touchdowns, with the story is a
Deron Bland, his fifth pick six of the season that
is a new single season NFL record, And in the
nightcap it was Seattle and San Francisco, the forty nine

(26:50):
Ers winning this one thirty one to thirteen in spite
of a pick six by brock Perty but he did
otherwise play adequately enough two hundred nine passing yards and
a touchdown, but Christian McCaffery lead away for San Francisco
on offense, as he had one hundred and fourteen rushing
yards two touchdowns, also had twenty five yards through the air,
and Seattle for their part six and five as they're
clinging to a wildcard spot in the NFC. And in

(27:16):
college football, we have some action today. It's probably the
most underrated day for college football of the season. Black Friday.
We do have a couple of matchups featuring ranked teams
getting started at noon, Number thirteen Oklahoma hosting TCU in
Norman that can be seen over on Fox. Also at noon,
number seventeen Iowa and Nebraska, and the total for this
game for those interested in betting the over under twenty

(27:37):
four and a half. At three point thirty, it'll be
number twenty three to two Lane hosting UTSA in New Orleans.
Umber nine, Missouri and Arkansas will square off at four,
and then we have three night games featuring ranked teams.
Number seven Texas against Texas Tech in Austin, Number eleven
Penn State hits the road to face Michigan State, and
then at eight thirty you'll be at least for now

(27:58):
the last edition of the Civil War are certainly the
last one featuring both teams that are in the PAC
twelve because of Oregon moving to the Big Ten next season,
and there's no agreement yet to continue this series, so
at least for the time being, the civil war between
Number six Oregon Number sixteen Oregon State it's gonna be
for a lot, a lot not just a regular rivalry game,

(28:18):
but it can be bragging rights, not just for one year,
but for several years to come. So that's certainly gonna
be a fascinating game to keep an eye on, especially
since Number six Oregon needs to win to give themselves
a chance at a PAC twelve title game rematch against Washington.

Speaker 3 (28:33):

Big six. It's you got me with pop Snaps. That

(29:13):
was unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
There you go. That's how it sounded on.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
That was like Hall of Fame level call in that one.
That was awesome.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
I feel like he uh, you know, listens to Lamb
of God maybe a little slayer in his uh downtime there, Like.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
He's in his Pebble Beach house. Just listen to Lamb
of God.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
Yeah, could be driving around, you know, let's go to
the grocery store. Let's pick up some eggs.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Listen to Lamb to Dolly Party yesterday.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
Yeah, that's crave.

Speaker 4 (29:44):
Man.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
People love that halftime performance, you know.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
I just for me, it was I liked it. It
just it felt like it was hard to hear her.
That was it.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
Yeah again. I was over at my sister's house and
they're not the biggest football fans over there. Me, they're
not football fans.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Would they put the TV on for you to watch
on your phone?

Speaker 3 (30:04):
I did, I had my I had my tablet going
the whole time.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
But didn't put the TV on for you?

Speaker 3 (30:11):
Oh no, no, no, no TV. I don't know if
they even they're kind of weird. I love them to death,
but I don't even know their TV situation. I don't
know if they get like the local channels, they've have
this weird sort of TV package bundle thing going on.
So I just rocked the tablet.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
The whole time, No smart man.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
Yeah that's how I got down. How about this same game,
after the game, Washington quarterback Sam Howell on his thoughts
on the fourth quarter. Check this out. Okay, not the
easiest to hear, but he was basically saying, yeah, we
were in it. It was a fourth quarter game and
then kind of got away from us, right like it's

(30:53):
twenty He's right, it was twenty to ten heading into
the fourth quarter, and the man, the Cowboys just put
it in overdrive right there. How about this too, This
is a growing trend, Jeff. This is Commander's head coach
Ron Rivera on the game plan. Check this out. Okay,
so you're getting this a lot more in the NFL.
Is Hey, the game plan was sound, we just didn't

(31:16):
execute it. You heard that last week from Brandon Staley,
the Chargers head coach. Remember they lost to the Packers,
and he was very impassioned saying the game plan was good,
who's got to play better. It's different than for a
while it was head coaches saying it's on me. It
starts with me, right, that was a steady diet of

(31:38):
it starts with me. And now you're getting Hey, the
game plan with sound. We just got to execute this
freaking thing over here. I think that with Staley and
maybe with Ron Rivera, their both their seed is smoldering hot, Jeff,
maybe that's impacting what they're saying with hey man, the
game plan was sound. Don't look at me, look at them.

(32:00):
It's like this basically when you read between the lines,
that's what they're saying.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
At this point. I don't think that you know that
they care, right Like, it's like they're just at the
point where they just hey man, I did my job, right.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
Yeah, that's exactly where they're at because it's hey man,
we had a good plan. I don't know, what do
you want from me. It's like Goodfellas with Joe PESHI
we want from me? Huh, Like we had a good plan,
but they got to executed.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
This is why teams like this are. You know, they're
not where they want to be, right. You got coaches
throwing people under the bus. I mean, just like that's
not you know, the best of the best coaching staffs,
the best are not throwing people under the bus, right,
They're not saying well we actually, I mean, look look
at Andy Reading and Patrick Mahomes after that game by Night.
Andy Reid said, I got to do better. Patrick Holmes said,

(32:50):
I gotta do better. You know. But then you have
you know, coach Ravera and I coach that I get
their coaching for their job saying you know what, no,
I did my job. They didn't do their job, you
know exactly. Uh, you know, the same messaging coming from
from a losing organization, aization.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
That's a great point. Think about Mahomes, who threw a
great pass to m VS Marquees Marquez Valdez scantling right,
should have been caught, and postgame Mahomes is like, yeah,
maybe I could have thrown it a little shorter, made
it a bit of an easier catch. He didn't throw
m VS under the bus at all. He's like, yeah, dude,

(33:29):
look at me first, you're right, that's uh, that's more.
I started this. This is the it starts with me mixed,
a growing trend in the NFL. Check this out.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
It starts with me, with me, starts with me, starts
with me.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
Right, So if you I don't know if you could tell,
but that was Tom Brady there that yeah, Josh Allen,
Big Ben Roethlisberger, there's all so Sean McVay, Sean McVay
ram said, coach a Big it starts with me guy
so much. Ron Rivera and Brandon Staley, well not now.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
I think those guys were certainly that way when they
are our coaches, but now that kind of it's you
know that every every game they coach is not just
for you know, for for their current team, like you're
you're if you know you're out of a job soon,
you're sort of coaching for the next job too. Write
And you know, I think that that coach Rivera, coach

(34:32):
Staly or at the point where they're like, yeah, I'm
probably not long for this job, but let me let
me make sure everyone knows that it's not my fault here,
right Yeah, And that that definitely feels like a little
bit of what's happening right now. I just can't imagine.
You know, Ron Rivera is a I mean, a really
solid coach, but yes, it's not he didn't win enough
in Washington, like you know, it just you have to

(34:54):
you gotta you gotta put up wins and that's the
point of your job, and he doesn't do it at
the level that they expect him to do. That.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
Yeah, I call him roller coaster Ron, just in terms
of wins and losses from season to season, because you
know this very well with Cam Newton there in Carolina,
it was MVP season fifteen and one, then it's six
and ten, then they're up, then they're down. Like that's
the way it's been, at least in Carolina it was.
It's been mostly down when he's been in Washington. But

(35:23):
listen to the difference. This is Sean McVay years ago,
starts with me, got to do a better job.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
We've all got to do better.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
Right, So you're framing it with it's me first, it's
all of us, right, But the way you frame it,
this was Brandon Staley last week. Now, Brandon Stay, the
Chargers head coach. He's reached his limit with everybody pointing
the finger at the defense, and it should be pointed
at the defense, but specifically after the loss against the
Packers last week, this is what he had to say.

Speaker 9 (35:52):
There were a lot of other things that caused us
to lose today. It certainly wasn't our defense. It was
the way we played as a team. We didn't play
well enough on the red zone. On offense, we dropped
too many passes, Kate. We gave up a few killer sacks, Kate.
We did this as a team. Stop making it about
one unit because that's not what happened out there today.
Our team lost and I am fully responsible for it

(36:13):
and I take full responsibility. But we lost as a
team today, and that's the storyline.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
I mean, I get it. I get how you would
be annoyed with that, but it's like, Bro, you're not
going to get the benefit of the doubt when there's
so much money being put into the defense, and over
the course of the entire season it's near the bottom
of the NFL. You're not going to get the benefit
of the doubt. Even though to his point, you should

(36:40):
get it against the Packers. That's not how it works
because of the way the rest of the season is gone.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Absolutely in the way that his coaching career is that
sort of goes. Right, Yeah, he'll get the benefit of
doubt right now. Look the thing about you know Steeley,
that was a question about like should he be called
the defense still? Right, because you know that's if you're
a head coach and you have a thing like you're
off of the defensive guy, you gotta be good at
that thing. And it's at least not that's right.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
That's right. His thing is defense and the defense stinks.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
Crutch.

Speaker 3 (37:12):
Can't be like that man, all right? Coming up next
on Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Live from
the Tirereck dot Com Studios, the biggest matchups of the weekend. Huh.
We got Michigan hosting Ohio State the biggest NFL games.
We'll hit on a couple of those rapid fire style.

(38:04):
Man Jeff so Tomorrow, huge game Ohio State at Michigan.
It's a weird spot, right, No, Jim Harbaugh, he's suspended
due to the signs stealing scandal.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
Well, according to Michigan people, it's not a real thing. Actually,
did it happened. I mean they accepted punishment, of course,
but it didn't happen. Though something happened.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
That's what normal people do, is you know, you just
accept punishment for something you didn't do whatsoever? Right, Yeah,
that's how it goes. I can't tell you the number
of times I've been accused of something I had nothing
to do with and just accepted my punishment.

Speaker 2 (38:39):
Yes, same thing, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
Yeah, anybody does that. So Michigan could go from for
years under Jim Harbaugh not being able to beat Ohio
State and we get into this weird realm where they
could win without him tomorrow. It's it's strange to me
how that goes. But this is an elimination game. I

(39:01):
don't see any other way it can go. The loser
is going to be on the outside of the playoff
looking in, you would need full blown chaos, and I
don't see that happening. So the stakes are as high
as you can get in tomorrow's game. And you said
this interesting yesterday, Jeff, where the last couple of games
have been really high scoring. The total isn't obscenely high,
it's like forty seven, but the way the game has

(39:24):
gone the last couple of years, there might be more
points scored than the line would lead you to believe.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
Yeah. The thing about this too is like if Michigan
were to lose with their schedule, they would would not
be a playoff team. Ohio State has a no name
win at least, right, like they have that in their
back pocket. Mission does nothing right now, Penn State, I guess,
But Penn State, I mean, that's one rate to win
Penn State, that's it. So I'm fascinated to see about

(39:55):
this game, right, I mean, Hardbuck is a coach all week,
it doesn't you know? And his coach all week, and
then you know the Hayes in the barn. Right, the
game plans are any good, everything's planned out, So I'm
not sure they win or lose based on what Harbaugh does.
Harbor and there are not are not there? You know?
To me, it's like which which quarterback doesn't screw up?

(40:17):
Like JJ McCarthy was so untrustworthy that they would they
passable one time against Penn State in the second half
Cole McCord, ohass quarterback. They kind of try to avoid
having him be the game. The best part in the
field might be Marvin Harrison Junior and if he if
he gets the ball in his hands, it makes a

(40:38):
few plays. Ohio State can certainly win this game. I
do think it's low scoring though. I think it's going
to be a low scoring game. Both teams want to
run the football, play really good defense, don't make mistakes
on offense, and so it should be fun. Man, it's
going to be a great game. It's new tomorrow. Good
way to start our day off. Kind of goes downhill
from there. It's not a lot of great games after that.

(40:58):
But we'd start our day off with a But it
would be the highest rated of Colla football game in
a decade. It's gonna be the most watched game in history,
maybe outside USC Texas can be incredible.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
Yeah, how about this on Sunday too? The game of
the week in the NFL is gonna be Bills at
the Eagles. It's not a great slate of matchups this weekend,
but you know, you could get some drama and some
great outcomes. But Bills at the Eagles. That's the one
I have circle Jeff because it's a huge spot for
the Bills. They're trying to sneak into the playoffs, so

(41:30):
it's a monster game. And then also Josh Allen, I
feel like this is a big reputation game for him.
This reputation has gone downhill. If you're able to go
into Philly and beat the Eagles, I think that'd be
a big deal. And it gets a past defense that
hasn't been great. That's a big spot for Josh Allen
and the Bills.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
Man, no doubt, Bills are thirty second invariants, which means
each week we get a different team from the Bills.
I don't know what to expect from them, you know
what I mean?

Speaker 3 (41:56):
Yeah, they're like the Jordan Love of teams. Yes, yes,
well good Hagen with you, Jeff.

Speaker 2 (42:04):
Everybody have weekend?

Speaker 3 (42:05):
Everyone, Yeah, dude, you too. I'll catch you on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
Oh I forgot everybody Sunday.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
Yeah, enjoy Black Friday and ball
