Speaker 1 (00:39):
If I hear this again, I want to be in
the deep.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
What you know about it? Manny Diaz?
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Oh you you know what? You got issues? Dout? You
need help? What's dollars? Why do you try to do
that to you? What do you mean so you need
some help? Jonas?
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I can't.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
I can. Somebody did something to you when you were
a kid, and it created was that irreputable damage as
that was called, Like, there's there's something that's wrong with.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
You, Brontonas.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
I mean, I just listen. I'm trying to give shout
outs here.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
And congratulations man, yeah, you know congratulations. So every time
we get something good, everybody wants somebody want to come
take it.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
It's a compliment though.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yeah, but that's not good for us, you know, But whatever,
thanks Jonas.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
I mean, look, I'm just saying he's on his way
to Duke. He's going to be the new head coach.
There in the market for a decordinator. I happen to
know somebody who played at Penn State.
Speaker 5 (01:40):
All timer, come on, bar Legendary, come on, var mean,
I'll come be on that staff, buddy.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
I know some people.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Will be like, well, why would you want to coach
Chiefs because that's what I love. I love the physicality hitting,
you know, just smacking dudes like that.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
I would sit there the whole time.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
You'd be like, if we would to bring pressure, hell,
yeah we do, they would all be like rain, hell
fire Like that'd be like our all out cover zero blitz.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
You know. I mean, my defense would look like a
warrior warriors, a bunch of warriors out there, nothing like it.
We wouldn't even do regular practice stuff. We just do
warrior stuff, like we'd be in the woods and stuff
like that.
Speaker 5 (02:24):
Pass well, we were practicing some different tactics that wasn't
quite the same.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
I wouldn't say we wouldn't be tackling. Well, I would be.
I would say, we'd be getting uh we take it
down flags. Yeah, we'd be getting flags because I had
them doing what my uncles used to do with my dad, Like,
you know, go go out there. You see that those
wild rabbits over there, you gotta go catch it. I
go catch that rabbit, and then I'll know that you
(02:53):
guys can get to the ball carrier. Because if you
can get to a wild rabbit and then you can get
to a ball carrier on the football field, That's the
type of stuff I'd have us doing, man Like literally like, yeah,
let's get out here, you know, let's get in that
poison avy. Well what does poison avy have to do
with football? Toughness? Mindset? When your legs are itching and
(03:18):
your arms are itching and you realize that you're allergic
to it and or whatever, you have a breakout to it.
You you don't need to be scratching when you need
to be playing. You got to be pawing, you know,
you got to be attacking.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
It's a great move.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Yeah, throw some poison ivy on the on the unis
and that's right, somebody tackles you.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
They got to go home. With all those rashes and
itches and yeah that or.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
You go the exact opposite way.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
You go for like a distraction technique and you just
put on the scratching sniffs.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
You know, great call, remember.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
Like the magazines and books and stuff. My kids have
some of those. Now, Like you give them a scratching sniff,
They're they're gone for like thirty minutes.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
It's the world around Another thing, you know, Another thing
that I would do if I was the defensive court later,
I would bring in some really really really really good
looking people and have them observe the practice. And for
some reason, guys always seemed to step up their play
when good looking people are observing their practice. That's a
(04:18):
good point.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
A couple of rocket ships, just Fabio, what are you thinking?
Speaker 1 (04:22):
I'm not sure you know, but I'm just saying, as
long as they're super good looking.
Speaker 5 (04:29):
I saw Fabia one time, like promoting his I think
it was a protein or something. I was just walking
into Whole Foods and I think it was like an
elsagundo and.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
I walked in just that is Fabio.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
I mean, it must have been like the way the
wind hit when the sliding doors opened up. But that's
sort of got the window that blew through his hair,
and I was like, man, he looks exotic as hell.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Look at him out there. He looked at him.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Nobody more unlucky.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
That's how I looked at Prince Man. I was like, god, dang, Prince.
I didn't look at him like that, like I wasn't.
I was more like, that is really Fabia. The other
thing was is he's a big dude. He's like every
bit of what six three, six four, like, he's not
Prince Prince was ever bit like like five four, and
he's like that little elf on the shelf. Dude. He
looked like a woman though, like he just he just
(05:18):
I don't know. Okay, well that's a different direction.
Speaker 5 (05:23):
I was just surprised this protein should like go up
and like say anything to him about that protein.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
By the way, you guys, remember when you take it.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
There, Shaker hugged him. I moved on. I know Jonas
wants to.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Transition here, but no, no, I was gonna ask a question.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
I was just trying to find find a way to
is so hot? Do you remember when Fabia was on
the roller coaster and he got he got harpooned by
that bird in the middle of that.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Roller coaster ride.
Speaker 6 (05:54):
Busch Gardens.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Yeah, he was a Busch Gardens story there, and if
you look it up, like there's a still shot of
him after the bird caved his face and the guy
looks like he fell asleep in front of a train.
Like you talking about bad luck. How many rollercoasters you've
(06:15):
been on. Nobody's been bombed by a bird. It looked
like that Randy Johnson fastball, but he got completely caved in.
So I don't know if that was before or after
Brady ran into him, but bad look for Fabio.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
I'm certain it was probably after.
Speaker 5 (06:31):
Yeah, bloody did last the last bird we ran into it.
We were actually in a happy valley. We were headed
to the airport and I kid you not man, a
woodpecker it like I saw it because I was sitting
in shotgun and that thing came down low and then
I was like, oh, wonder if that thing made it
out because there wasn't really a noise, And we got
up there and it was like blood on top of
(06:52):
it and it was literally lodged in the grill of
the vehicle. I'm like, damn, it's a bad way to
go for a little bit bucker like pecker.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
The hiding spot though it's unfortunately.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Hiding spot he was, he's not hiding anymore.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
Oh no, you know sometimes things change in a hurry. Yeah,
much like yes, when I think a woodpecker, I think
a rooster.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Rooster.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
That's right, that's all we got it.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
I was going to use a different words every every
sound that Sam Scott in his arsenal.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
Sam's emptying the chamber like it almost messed up the
Avian kingdom here, you know.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
Well, the birds had was completely like it was like
the Exorcist.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
He's completely ripped around. I felt terrible for it. Would
you consider a bat to be a bird or just
to fly and rode it? No, the one that Lee killed, Yeah,
because he decapitated a.
Speaker 6 (07:50):
Flying, flying mammal mammal.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Those things got a lot of disease.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Wait a second, bats are considered mammals.
Speaker 6 (07:56):
Yeah, there mammals flying mammal because it only it's a hair.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Yes, It's like when people like they're called.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
The memory memory gland.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
It's like koala bears are called marsupials. Then why do
we call them koala bears? All right, come on enough.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
It's a general category. Okay, but we call killer whales
killer wales, and they're they're not.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
Okay when I see a possum. When I see a
possum walking across the street, I don't go.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
I'll look at that. It looks like something that would
hug each other in a tree, same family. Doesn't make me.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
Raccoon yesterday was gray. Raccoons could make that sound, Yeah
they can. It was literally like hide mind like a tree.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
I was like, I was like, what are you doing?
Like nasty?
Speaker 5 (08:44):
I was like, aren't they isn't it if they're awake
during the day the rabbit Isn't that what most people say.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
My sister has pet raccoons. I went over there on
Thanksgiving and.
Speaker 7 (08:54):
Like, actually pet raccoons.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Like three of them, and I'm like, they come in
the house. Yeah, they just like she's got it.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
There's this own little area where they hang out and
they can climb up and down.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
They it's just like it's normal.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Like she bought them from a pet store.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Is I don't know, she loves animals.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
She probably rescued them like most times people rescue them
type deals like our Miss BJ shouts out to Miss
BJ and she worked out. She worked out the front
of the building for the Washington Commanders super Dope lady,
and and she found a squirrel that had fell out
of the tree that lived, and she like literally brought
(09:36):
it in to work every single day. And it was
like little little like shouldn't yeah, shouldn't they even survive?
But she nursed it and it got healthy and it grew,
and she like she was bringing it in when it
was almost ready, like it should have been ready to
go like and then one day it left her like
not not because she wanted it to, but it left
(09:57):
her like literally rolled out, didn't come back. Yeah, it
was broken. Squirrels.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
Squirrels are deceiving their scumbags. They're basically gang members. Like
they come, they take a bunch of stuff.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
I said, their rats with with a furry tail. The
only reason why people like are okay intolerant of squirrels
over rats is that rats don't have any hair on
their tails, so they look more menacing. You know, that's
my that's my take on them.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Rodents agreed. Yeah, Well, listen from that over.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
To this speaking how did we get there anyway? By
the way, speaking, getting hit by a bird the fixture,
I see it, I see it. He was disgusted.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
So, uh, the Philadelphia Eagles have this advantage over everybody
else in the NFL. It's called this brotherly shove push play,
and Bailey's Appy tried it to ice the game last night,
didn't go the work, and so. On the latest edition
of the New Heights podcast featuring the Kelsey Brothers, they
(11:08):
discussed the potential change of the brotherly Shove because apparently
the NFL and the Competition Committee's taking another look at
this whole thing. So let's take a listen to the
back and forth.
Speaker 8 (11:18):
Listen ban it. I really at this point, I don't care.
I'm over the discussion about it.
Speaker 7 (11:23):
To be fair, it would just be banning, like the
push it in the back.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Everybody would still be able to run the QB sneak.
Speaker 8 (11:28):
I think, well, that's where I'm kind of like, you
know whatever, we were really good at unning quarterback sneak
before we did the push. I don't think that it's
a necessary part for it. It certainly helps, there's no
question about it. I don't have the energy to care
about whether it gets banned or not. We're going to
run it right now because we're good at it and
it's effective. And whatever they do next season, we'll figure
out a way to do something at a high level
and make it effective.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (11:49):
I mean, if it's for a health reason, I don't
think a lot of guys get injured on it, so
I don't think that's a good reason. If it's for
an unfair advantage, we've already seen other teams do it
at not as good of a success level, So I
don't know that it's that big of a competitive advantage.
If they do ban The Brotherly Show, there will be
a good reason behind it that the commissioner wants to
get done.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
So do you think this way correct? I'll put it
this way.
Speaker 7 (12:13):
When Kelsey retires, they're not gonna be.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
As good as it anymore.
Speaker 5 (12:16):
He's he is the biggest reason why they're so good
if you watch his technique. And I've talked to some
other O line coaches about this, because everyone's trying to
mimic it. Everyone's trying to create a scenario where they
feel like they're in first and nine and the difference
is Kelsey. So it starts with a stance. So any
sort of short yardage goal line stands, typically a center
(12:39):
is going to have their butt up higher their pads
and head.
Speaker 7 (12:41):
It's gonna be a little lower because they're gonna shoot
out low.
Speaker 5 (12:44):
They have to get underneath the guy in front of them,
right and low man wins. His technique is interesting though,
because it really does play a factor into what happens
then at the guard positions. Okay, so what Kelsey does
is he drives down to get under an Meath who's
over top of him, and then he literally comes up
(13:05):
he like helps lift them up. And then what happens
is both left and right guards as they surge forward,
as they kind of wedge down right, so they get
shoulder to shoulder and they kind of move and wedge forward.
Because the guys over top of Kelsey are now up
even a little bit higher because he's got underneath them.
Those guys then drive forward and so they get that
(13:25):
initial movement and so right then they've already moved you
off the ball.
Speaker 7 (13:30):
And it almost happens in like two steps. It's like snap.
Speaker 5 (13:34):
Kelce goes down then up, and then you see that
both guards fire off to kind of push that that
group forward. It creates this pocket, this kind of this wedge,
this whole if you will, and then that's where Hurtz
is able to kind of find that soft spot and
ride and then the guys behind him.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Just push him forward.
Speaker 5 (13:51):
And so I've literally looked at this on tape probably
I don't know, fifty times and trying to figure out
like what exactly it was. It's Kelcey like he When
you watch other teams do it, no Center and guards
have the coordination the way they go about trying to
do it, and no center is able to drive down
and lift up like he does. And so that's where
(14:11):
I'm like, well, yeah, if he's done, remember he almost
retired in comeback this year.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
But A he's a first bow Hall of Famer.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
B it's his technique and ability to do it consistently
that allows them to be that successful with it. Now, Look,
Jalen's a part of it obviously, you know, Uh, Jurgens
Dickinson like those guys are part of it too. But
it's it's really starts with it ends with Kelsey to me,
because if he's not there at center, I don't think
(14:38):
they execute it as consistently well as he's able to.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Yeah, I don't. I don't have any pushback on that.
It's definitely him at the point. It's always you always
got to win at the point, you know.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
So what's more likely what's more likely to get banned
this offseason?
Speaker 3 (14:55):
That or the hip drop tackle?
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Hip drops more dang, But I just think it's funny
that it's labeled hip drop hip drop tackle.
Speaker 7 (15:06):
I think I'm more curious who would Who's gonna take over?
Speaker 5 (15:09):
Is like Jurgen's gonna go to center and Dickerson stays
at guard and then like stem comes in. He was
a third roup pick this year, Like because if they
continue to keep using this allowed to stay in. I
just I'm curious to see, like who's gonna take over?
And like, well he be able to replicate what Kelsey does.
From a technique standpoint.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
There's only a few people that can snap the ball
get the ball to the quarterback's hand.
Speaker 5 (15:37):
It's I mean, it's almost like he does like a
good morning, like you know, you know I'm talking about
like that you put the bar bell.
Speaker 7 (15:42):
On your back and you kind of like bend.
Speaker 5 (15:44):
It's almost like he kind of does that in a
way as far as how he lifts them up.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Good for your hammies.
Speaker 5 (15:49):
What takes incredible strength, man, That's how you know, Jason's
ridiculously strong, but I'm telling you, I've I've sat with
offensive line coaches and talked about it, and everyone's like
trying to find a way of replicating this because it's
it's huge if you don't have to worry about those situations,
which I mean, the NFL is a situation league, right
your shortyard goal line, third down, red zoning, That's that's
(16:12):
what it is. So it's almost like I find it
more intrigued to watch because they're so successful with it.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
I'm like, Oh, are they gonna stopped finally? Nope? All right,
first down, here we go again.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
You know, Yeah, it's the best, no doubt about it.
And this show's the best.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
The best, right.

LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here coming

Speaker 3 (18:00):
In the NFL.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
That'll be yours here again twenty minutes from now from
the ti raq dot com studios.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
So there's been a lot of speculation.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
We mentioned this briefly last hour here on the show,
but there's been a lot of speculation about whether or
not Jim Harbaugh is done at Michigan.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
He's going to be on his way back to the NFL.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
Well, apparently the Michigan Wolverines and Jim Harbaugh are working on,
according to multiple reports, a new five year extension that
would pay him eleven million dollars annually. Sports Illustrated is
reporting that the extension is they want a commitment Michigan
does from.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
Jim Harbaugh that he will not pursue an.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
NFL job this coaching cycle, and Yahoo Sports and Dan
wentzilll do point out that a deal is not imminent,
there's work to be done, but least they are having
conversations there, so maybe Michigan might not lose their guy
Jim Harbaugh after all if this goes well there. But look,
he flirted with the NFL a couple of years ago.
(18:59):
Had the vikings off in the gig, you probably would
have been gone. So the idea that they want some
you know, they want to be a commitment from him
throughout the course of this does make some sense, but
it remains to be seen whether or not Michigan and
Jim Harba get this done.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
Disappointed fan bases in the NFL, you don't.
Speaker 5 (19:16):
Need a commitment. You don't need a commitment from him necessarily.
I mean, you could structure this deal to make it
harder for anyone to want to come get him while
he's still in their contract, right, and that's just agreeing
to an enormous buyout. So if you if you want him,
some of their team's gonna have to pay for whatever
(19:36):
they're on the hook for. You know, there's some sort
of like offset language and all that. So I just
it's not that complicated. But if you want a commitment
from him, I think that's one thing too, because a
lot of I think the you know, the hard thing
is the speculation every off season because NFL teams have
come in and tried to discuss a potential opportunity with him,
(19:58):
and he's been successful and you look at his his
stint with the San Francisco Ford Niners. He made it
to a Super Bowl and he's won in college. So
I think to avoid probably the negative recruiting from others
within the Big Ten and you know elsewhere nationally, you'd
want to have this sort of thing publicized. So if
he does sign the extension, there's the idea that, hey,
(20:20):
not only did he sign a five year extension where
he's getting paid a lot of money, he's also made
a commitm where he's not going to look for an
NFL job somewhere else. And so I think that helps
for the perception of Michigan moving forward and just recruiting too,
and a lot of parents and players knowing that if
you're going to play for Jim Harbaugh, he's going to
be there. And he's the type of coach that I think,
(20:41):
you know, develops and is able to, you know, build
up teams into what we've seen in the last three
years now since he's gotten there, like he's gotten this
Michigan team to be the top the Big Ten. There's
there's no denying that. And obviously playing for a national
championship right now.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
Yeah, I mean, Jim Harball has dealt with a lot
during his time, and you know, I don't know where
all of the beef and the drama came from that
was being you know, directed at him. But it's been there,
(21:18):
and it's almost seemingly like a kind of a mission
to get Jim Harball caught up. Whether it be the
recruiting violation, whether it be the sign gate, whatever it is,
there always seems to be something that seems to come
up against Jim Harball. And I just continue to wonder
(21:40):
is that something that has worn on him because for
him to have to deal with so many other elements,
especially I think that you know, have been discussed happened
at other schools, I mean abundantly happened at other schools.
The things that he's being you know, kind of sought
(22:03):
after or so to speak, you know, kind of trying
to apprehend them or catch them in something he's doing.
I just I wonder if he wants to continue to
deal with that because the elements of paid that makes
sense if all of this was to get a higher
pay and to be paid like want of the most
elite coaches or be the highest paid coach. I mean,
(22:25):
I certainly would say he's up there in the conversation
outside of you know, Kirby Smart and a couple other guys,
you know, Nick Saban, I'd say his name should be
in the conversation. But is that what all of this
is about for Harball? Because the one the biggest thing
that I hear from coaches that have coached both pro
and college is they don't want to have to recruit.
(22:47):
They don't want to deal with transfer portals and and
all of the rules that govern what they're doing at
the college level. They just don't want to deal with
that mess.
Speaker 4 (22:57):
Plus he's still got the NCAA instigation is still going
to go on, so there's potential punishment that could still
happen this upcoming season. Correct, because I know the Big
Ten handed their three game deal down, but the NCAA
is going to be looking into this, and who the
hell knows how long that suspension is going to be.
So maybe he's like, man, I don't want to deal
with this crap, Like over signed this gatting twice in
(23:17):
one years.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
He got suspended twice and one year.
Speaker 5 (23:24):
Well, but that's a little inaccurate because they self imposed
a suspension.
Speaker 7 (23:30):
So they actually proactively.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
Took an approach and said, hey, we knew there was
wrong during during this recruiting period during COVID, We're going
to have Jim Harbaugh sit out the first three games
and I believe Sharon More as well for Game one
and moved through our non conference schedule without him.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
Now easy to.
Speaker 5 (23:48):
Say that when you had the opponents they did to
start off the season. But he served a three game
suspension there that was self imposed for those NCAA violations,
and then it was by really way of the Big
Ten and suspending him for the final three games of
the season, which I mean, you can make arguably those
are the biggest games of at least the regular season
maybe of the year for them to get by Penn
(24:10):
State at Penn State and then obviously vs.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Ohio State.
Speaker 5 (24:13):
So there will be potentially more punishment, not only for
the recruiting violations by the NCAA, because that was indeed
self imposed, and I think it may or may not
have a bearing eye on what their punishment is, but
even from if there's any more information found out from
(24:33):
the NCAA investigation, remember that the Big Ten punishment was
all via the information that they received from the CIA.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
They were able to work in unison.
Speaker 5 (24:42):
With one another, and so to that point, you know,
who knows what that suspension will be, and maybe he
does or maybe doesn't want to deal with it, Maybe
he doesn't care about it right when it's all said
and done, because you know, the one thing that you
know is if he does take the opportunity to go
to the NFL and doesn't sign this extension, you only
get really two shots at it. As a head coach,
(25:03):
if you're a good one, usually only get a couple
of shots at it. But you've heard people talk about
how much he loves Justin Herbert. You've heard people make
mention of that and what he thinks of him as
a quarterback. And you've heard people talk about, you know,
that particular job, you know, maybe being meaningful in that sense.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
But again, it's not a.
Speaker 5 (25:22):
Job that's open, So I always want to be careful
talking about potential suitors and opportunities. I mean, Carolina would
make some sense because that job is open, and you know,
Bryce Young is a young quarterback they're going to try
to build something out around, but it was you know,
I'd like to try to not talk about jobs where
there's not an opening at this current juncture.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
What do you think about Marvin Harrison Junior saying yesterday
that you know he's still undecided whether or not he's
going to enter the draft because they haven't beaten Michigan
and that's going to eat at him. So it makes
everything sort of up in the air, you know. So
there's a potential that Marvin Harrison Junior could be back
in Columbus to try and right the wrong of not
being able to beat Michigan his entire time there.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
With the all they had to do was us him
more this year. Yeah, they use you more this year.
Why I doubt they're going to use you more next year.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
By the way, if I find it hard to believe
that Kyle McCord would enter the portal if he didn't
have at least a strong feeling that his high school
teammate and good friend Marvin Harrison Junior was also gone,
I find I.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Don't think the daddy decision, Yeah I don't. Did you
hear that I heard it was a daddy decision like
they want to be guarantees or something like that. I
didn't hear any of that. I would just generally say,
I think, yeah, you d aren't we done yet? Hell no,
(26:46):
we ain't done.
Speaker 5 (26:47):
Those two decisions decisions I think can be mutually exclusive,
right Like McCord, if he if he went in and said, hey,
I'm eleven and one as a starter for you, I've
played banged up this season and my first sorting. I
feel like I'm only going to go up from here,
but I need reassurances that like I'm the guy in
the spring and next year, and they said, no, we'd
like you to still battle it out. I think you
(27:10):
can see both sides of this, Like in one sense,
you're going, well, what else do you need me to
do for you guys? You know, like I you know,
I understand you want me to play better, but it's
also my first year starting, and you know, next year,
I feel like I will be able to play better.
But in another sense too, you know, maybe they're looking
for an out to bring someone in who they feel
like is a higher caliber quarterback. Then he knows it,
(27:30):
and he knows it, and so he doesn't feel like
he'll get a fair shake in a competition.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
So it's it's a tough spot to be in.
Speaker 5 (27:36):
But I think his decision to move on is one
where he wants to be the guy somewhere and play
and be able to put you know, put forth his
case and where he's gonna get drafted that's what this
is all about nowadays, and from Marvin Harrison Junior, like
he's got to make the best decision for him financially.
I mean, what we know right now is Chicago has
the number one overall pick, New England has the second pick,
(27:58):
Arizona has the third pick. Okay, if you're looking at
the way it could work out, I think we'd all agree.
Like New England's going to go for a quarterback Arizona
at three zone.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
That's interesting.
Speaker 7 (28:10):
The total value of that.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
Contract would be worth thirty five and a half million dollars.
At his signing bonus would be twenty two point eight
million dollars fully guaranteed. Right these rookie deals are this,
especially that pick. So do you really believe that Ohio
State can muster up enough nil money to pay Marvin
Harrison twenty two point eight million dollars?
Speaker 7 (28:35):
I don't personally, So I think all of that.
Speaker 5 (28:39):
You know, as far as not beating Michigan, that's a
tough pill to swallow. And we can say, hey, we
could pay him five or six million. Okay, that's great.
That's a lot of money. I understand that.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
But.
Speaker 5 (28:51):
It's still a big risk if he takes on an
injury or something else happens just to maybe have a
shot at beating Michigan. And mind you, I guess they
must feel very bullish about their chances because Michigan graduates
so many guys. You know, then they'd be moving on
from But why don't if you come back and you
lose again, Like there's that risk to and if that's
(29:12):
the only thing it was about, Like I would say,
if you're gonna come back, make it for like, hey,
I want to get my degree. I also want to
be Michigan. I want to win a national championship. It's
got to be a number of things. Because from a
business standpoint, twenty two point eight million dollars is staring
you in the face. Because I don't think he's going
anywhere past three in the draft. That would be really,
really tough. I mean, let's go back further. He's not
(29:35):
going to probably go anywhere outside the top ten. Okay,
So twelve point three million is what the tenth pick
is projected to make in this year's draft. Twelve point
three million signing bonus. By the way, the total contract
value would be over twenty one million. So that's where
I just look at it and go, I don't know,
it's a big risk financially to come back and think, oh,
(29:59):
I'm gonna make more than next year. I'll still be
a top receiver and all that when you can get
that right now, and plus you're a year closer to
the second contract where he's gonna get paid Bukoo's dollars
for that.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
But what if it's not just about the money now,
what if it's about the investment of getting that win
that could solidify him being one of the greatest, if
not the greatest receiver to ever play. There like a
chance at the heisman. I mean it to me, some guys,
And I mean, obviously money is not an issue for him,
(30:32):
you know. I mean, I know he wants to he'll
get it, and he'll eventually get it, but that's not
that's probably not the driving factor of all of it
because he you know, he doesn't need it. But I mean,
we all need money, but you know it's a little different.
But you've got kids, is that? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (30:51):
I mean, my kids.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
Aren't driven by money. Man.
Speaker 5 (30:53):
No, No, I'm not saying that, but I'm saying there
comes a point as a father too, where like, yeah,
like that money's gonna go to your kid. But there's
some fathers too, or like I want my kids to
turn to.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Their own Well, I want my kids to earn their
their keep, but right they But I am a safety
net twenty million.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
For twenty two million, I'd lose my wife to the landscape.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
But the point I'm making is it could be your
landscape look like, oh jeez, I know we got to
get the trending, but I mean, I guess the point
that I'm making is is that you can look at
your brand being built so well and being so strong
at at Ohio State that you can monetize it on
a different level if you go you know, you go
(31:31):
into the college Football Hall of Fame or you you
come back and you do actually he's had last year there,
you beat, you beat Michigan. Stuff like that. I just
I just think that if if you're given any type
of ulterior or or alternative, a different approach or idea
of it, you know, it could be it could be
that it means more in the long term build out
(31:54):
of his brand to do it, to beat it's really
a big deal to beat Michigan. So I get just
risk in that to.
Speaker 4 (32:04):
He's going to be an Arizona card. He'll be bourbon
and bones having a cocktail.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
I'm just going to say, there's no way. Yeah, bones, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (32:11):
You can't have a datus made money too, that's not
sitting there going to them. Yeah, I get it, Like
you need to come out, son, we'll get your degree
another time, and yeah, we.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Need to start. He might already have he might already
have a degree. Kids are getting them so early now
they are.
Speaker 5 (32:23):
Man, they come in some of these places, they're like
they already have like a year of college done.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Bottle of bourbon. It is some bones.
Speaker 4 (32:31):

Time for picks against the spread hight lead to laugh.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
Let's hear how well I did last week?
Speaker 6 (34:02):
Well it's an interesting one.
Speaker 11 (34:03):
Last week quick recap here we had the Lions's four
point favorites over the Saints, and Jonas, you were the
only one who had the Lions to.
Speaker 6 (34:10):
Cover just barely. They won thirty three to twenty eight.
Good job there, Jonas.
Speaker 11 (34:15):
We had Colton the Colts as a point favorite at Tennessee.
Everybody took Tennessee. Nobody got this one, and he won
that game thirty one.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
Yeah, I got one, right to be honest.
Speaker 6 (34:25):
Oh, hold on there, Brady, go hold on.
Speaker 11 (34:27):
We got Browns at Rams where Brady, you and LeVar
each took the Rams as three and a half point
favorites hosting Cleveland. They won that one, thirty six to nineteen.
Good job to the Pros. We had Niners at Eagles, Jonas,
you were the only one who had the Niners in
that game. Easy, good job there. And then Brady, you've
been rolling with the Packers. We had Sunday Night football
(34:47):
between the Chiefs Packers. Chiefs were six point favorites. Of course,
green Bay won out right down good.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
He's just so happy.
Speaker 1 (34:54):
Last one.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Lee loves that last one. I do love that last one.
Speaker 1 (34:57):
I can't believe I got two right. I was. That
was the way too. I got right the entire weekend.
I was awful, like awful.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
Like the way that the farts smell after you drink
a case of beer the next day.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
You know what I'm saying. I don't want to play
this guy, Johns. You have like two beers.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
Man.
Speaker 6 (35:15):
I'm just saying samn good earlier today, Hey, what did
you do?
Speaker 1 (35:23):
What did you say?
Speaker 11 (35:24):
I concocted a strong batch this morning? Indian food and McDonald's.
Speaker 12 (35:31):
In the same day. By the way, you know who
has that the same day? Dead people that who has
the same day? What's wrong with you? You can't mix
in a salad.
Speaker 6 (35:44):
We I debated a salad.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Stop farting around people, Dude, that's rude.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Eddie Garcia as a as a comment on these part.
Speaker 6 (35:52):
Well, first of all, I'm really glad I'm in this
room and they're in that room.
Speaker 5 (35:56):
Uh just I'm just curiously, do you uh you let
it fly around your significant others?
Speaker 1 (36:01):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (36:02):
Oh man?
Speaker 3 (36:02):
And she let it.
Speaker 6 (36:04):
Rip last night?
Speaker 11 (36:04):
Was like what I was like, we let the McDonald's
sit out last night, Like where why is this smell like.
Speaker 6 (36:10):
McDonald's in there? And I was like, oh, all.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Right, oh my god.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
Yeah. Does she own up to it?
Speaker 11 (36:15):
I apologize for asking technically she tried to do it
in private.
Speaker 6 (36:19):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
Sorry, honey.
Speaker 6 (36:21):
All right, I'm moving on.
Speaker 11 (36:31):
Even though you went to it three last week, you
did close the gap and we don't have a first
place tied between the pros LeVar Ed Brady, you guys
are tied up. Jonas, You're way behind here, got over Unders.
We're gonna move on to week fourteen and start with this.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
One, Rams, said Ravens.
Speaker 6 (36:46):
Ravens seven and a half point favorites at home.
Speaker 5 (36:49):
I hate the ball, delay the points. I'm taking Baltimore,
No feel good about it. Nope, you take the Rams.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Buccaneers that fell kids.
Speaker 11 (37:00):
Addle for the NFC South Falcons one and a half
point favorites at home.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
I'm taking Tampa because I want Tampa to win.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
I'm taking Tampa because I think they're gonna throw the
you know, Paul around a little bit and make some
things happen.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
I'm taking Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
Jaguars and Browns.
Speaker 11 (37:16):
Don't know who's playing at quarterback, but Brown's are three
point favorites at home.
Speaker 5 (37:20):
Land the free at the Browns, I think they should
get Denzel Award back, so I should help out the defense.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
I'm taking Jackson Boke It taking Jackson, Vioe Beetheart and
time Baby heat what c J beatheard? Move on, Let's
go God Whoa.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
Seahawks and forty nine Ers double digit favorites.
Speaker 11 (37:38):
Niners eleven point favorites at home versus the Seahawks.
Speaker 5 (37:43):
I'm taking the Seahawks. That's a lot of points for
a divisional game.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
Taking the nine Ers.
Speaker 4 (37:47):
Yeah, but Seattle has gotta show something. I will take
Seattle here. Back door covers. I smell the back door.
Speaker 1 (37:56):
Cover You love the back door? Yeah, smell the back door.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
He doesn't.
Speaker 6 (38:01):
Last one for the week.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Vikings and Raiders.
Speaker 6 (38:05):
Three point favorites on the road. Vikings at Las Vegas.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
This is a trap game.
Speaker 5 (38:11):
I'm I know I'm not gonna get this, but I'm
gonna take the Vikings. Lay the points here. Who's favorite it?
Speaker 1 (38:16):
Vikings the money line in my Las Vegas Raiders, it's
money line.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
I will take Minnesota off of Bye Josh.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
By the way, the Var's taking the money line.
Speaker 5 (38:33):
That means if the Vikings don't cover but still win,
he doesn't get credit for it.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (38:41):
I mean, so we're keeping track of that right right here.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
Yeah,
