(01:21):
So we open up the show talking about Sunday Night football,
the Dallas Cowboys putting it on the Philadelphia Eagles getting
a little bit of revenge. Dallas is now sitting there
atop the NFC East. But that's not the story out
of the NFC, cause it does feel like, and I
think you made this point last week, it does feel
(01:42):
like the forty nine ers are distancing themselves from not
only everybody else in the NFC, but everybody else in football.
They are fantastic, man, they.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Are, and they really don't have any weaknesses.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
When they are healthy, they can play at a really
high level. The addition of Chase Young too is I
think helped out improve the pass rush. Even though he
might not be letting the world on fire, he deserves
a lot of attention and it doesn't allow people to
focus as much attention on guys like Nick Bosa.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
So that move I think has helped them out.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
But when when healthy, the different ways that Kyle Shanahan
utilizes Christian McCaffrey and Kittle and Samuel and i Uke
and all the pieces. Man, It's just they're tough to stop.
They're going to be tough to stop. It just comes
down to whether or not they can all stay healthy.
Like that's the biggest thing. That's the thing that stopped
them last year when they got into the playoffs, And
(02:37):
that's the only thing that stands in their way I
think this year of not only getting to the super
Bowl but ultimately winning one, because as of right now,
they clearly look like the most complete team in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Yeah, and there's going to be people that will boy, yeah,
but can brock. Dude, at some point, you forgot it.
They got to give it up, Like, just just give
it up. The guy's a good he's a good quarterback. Yeah,
And if we're going to play that game, do we
want to do the same thing? Well, like, what's Christian
McCaffrey without though, Like what do you want? We wanted
to just set everybody and say, all right, prove it
that you can do it on your own, like he.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Played paid one on eleven. Just brock pretty out there
by himself.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Prove it that way, I know, they're they are like
the three game losing streak, Like there's got to be
some accountability for the things that people say in sports media,
because when they had lost three in a row, like
it was sky is falling, doom and gloom. Oh yeah,
that the Brock party has been exposed. This team, you know,
they can't do it without a quarterback. Maybe they shouldn't
(03:34):
have traded away Trey Lance blah blah blah blah blah.
Yet here they are all these weeks later and they're
just manhandling teams. Like the score yesterday, although they didn't cover,
and I know Geno Smith was out and it was
Drew Locke.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
I mean when you got the line because some people
had to pick it at ten and a half, So
they covered in that case, didn't they?
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Jonas also what happened.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Well, first off, earlier in the week. My big gripe
about this.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Game, it's not even the sense that the focus on
San Francisco. It's the fact that now it wasn't until
late in the week right where you got a sense that, oh,
Gino Smith might not play, Like the grown injury is
worse than we think. Pete Carroll's already come out and
said he's not even sure he's playing next week, which
is not.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
A good thing.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
I mean, they've struggled with Drew Lockett quarterback. He did
some nice things in this game. However, in the end,
just too many turnovers. It feels like when they need
to make a play, they just they can't. And that's
where they're really where they missed Gino. You see a
big difference between the two. But it wasn't until late
in the week where you really got a sense that
he wasn't going to start and play for them.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
I'm not even sure.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
It wasn't until the day of the game where ultimately
the decision was made. You know, maybe they knew behind
the scenes and you know internally they thought there was
a really good chance. But I thought going into it,
Gina was questionable with it. It probably should have been downgraded
to less than that. However, that's you know, the injury
status and rules as it is.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Right now in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
I've been one of the other topics of converse that
should be reviewed in the offseason.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Like the Saturday Saturday before the game, I saw they've
signed so and so to the practice squad. Right, Oh,
here we go, Like here we go, because I think
this was one of our if I'm not mistaken, it
was one of our picks that we did against the
spread on Friday, and it's like, okay, that completely changes everything.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
That line opened at ten and a half. They got
all the way up to fourteen.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
Yeah, I mean it's like, to me, there's there's obviously
some issues with this whole thing how it works out,
But it's not to take anything away from what San
Francisco did.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
You know, again, they dominated that game.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
They would have won that game, even Gino Smith will start,
I just don't know if they would have won, you know,
if they would have been they obviously didn't cover the number,
but you know, a ten and a half they obviously
were able to.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
They also appear to have a little bit of a
red ass through the Niners, like they played a little
bit of a little bit of venom. Like even like
the debo first ball, Deebo Samuel had a great game,
but DK Metcalf's German soup of Fred Warner in that
I mean, that is textbook, that's real strength. And then
Fred Warner hits him in the back of the head
(06:07):
and then flops afterwards, and then you see a couple
of ejections and all that. Like, it does feel it
feels like the Niners know how good they are. They
know what happened last year in the NFC title game.
They told everybody if we were healthy, we would have
won that game. They buried San Francis, or they buried
Philly last week, and it just feels like as this
(06:27):
season goes on, I mean, it's clear there's the three
best teams in the NFC are San Fran, Philly, and Dallas.
And it does appear like maybe Dallas and San Fran
have distanced themselves from everybody else. But I just I
don't I don't think Dallas can beat San Francisco. I
just don't. I don't think they can. They've proven the
past couple of years they can.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Yeah, Okain, we'll see. I mean, if that's your NFC
championship game, I think we'd all be happy about that.
That are that are San Francisco versus Philly.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
But either way, I just I think I'm more concerned
about where Seattle's at right now and what their future
looks like, especially if they're not able to make it
in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Is what do they do at quarterback.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
I mean, Gino is still gonna be under contract, but
is that the direction they want to go.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
They've brought in some pieces to.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
Try to keep building up this team, but they just
haven't been able to find the same magic they found
with Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman and the defense and
everything else that they had, you know, and obviously Bobby
Wagner's back.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
But it's got to be frustrating because they've got.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
Some of the pieces they've they've struggled to stay healthy
in certain spots too, And I think that's where you
see the frustration for DK Metcalf come out, is you know,
they they have opportunities and it seems like there's just
something doesn't go their way with either it's a health
issue or a play or whatever the case may be,
and it's unfortunate. But yeah, there's definitely no love loss
between those two teams.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Why the hell did I pick Seattle to win the division? Like,
I just look, I look at some of my picks
and I go, what are you doing, dude?
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Like there's a lot of things you do. I can't
figure it.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yeah, I just I don't. I don't get it, Like,
why would I think that Seattle was going to like
what what what changed in the Like.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
I just like, where do you take or did you
take the family to this.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Weekend Universal Studios?
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Yeah, like two little weekday man, let's crowd probably a
little bit easier.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Yeah, but it's too difficult.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
You know, it works with the schedule that we have.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Yeah, but it's it is for me because you know,
there's a lot of stuff going on. Then you're mixing
in nap times and all that. Like, I like to
be at one hundred still times on weekends, I like
to be at one hundred percent.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
Just make excuses right now because you didn't really think
that maybe a weekday would have been a better option.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
No, I don't. We normally don't do that stuff on weekdays.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Oh exactly. It's a special occasion.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
But I got to be locked in and focused on
the show. So I wait until Friday to make sure
I can get all that done. Look at hashtag built
different you know how this works. I mean that's just
the way I operate. So I got to make sure
I'm going to a you know, full throttle, full bottle.
You know, if I want to have a cocktail, I
could have a cocktail if I want to, but I
don't do that during the week. Yeah, a lot of issues.
And so to the Seattle Seahawks, they got a lot
(08:57):
of issues. They're not making the playoffs, by the way,
spoiler to everybody listening in Seattle, like, don't worry about it.
They will not go to the playoffs. That's how that's
going to turn out. And now it comes down to
if the Niners are the best team in the NFC
that everybody expects him to be, or at the end
of this whole thing, what's the best matchup for them
looking ahead in the super Bowl? The matchup where you go, Okay,
(09:20):
this is the one that if we can get this,
this will be the best matchup on paper. Who would
you say from me, I.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Would say pretty much.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
I don't know that they they're scared of anyone, with
the exception of maybe Baltimore is the one team that
I think right now, combined with all the pieces, could
give us some problems. And I think Baltimore gives everyone
some problems just because of Lamar, where Lamar has come from,
and Todd Munkin's offense this year, and you touched on
(09:50):
you said in your notes like Zay Flowers.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
You're starting to see two the way he's utilized.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
That time like that, Yeah, I know, that team to
me has to be scary for anyone who takes them on.
They're just solid all the way around. Like, I don't
care what phase you're talking about. That's a solid, solid
football team now. And the injury to Kyle Hamilton hurts.
We'll see how bad that looks moving forward, but you know,
they that team to me, I think everyone in the
(10:16):
AFC and probably even San Francisco is like, yeah, we
can feel like we've got a good game plan against
what they do, but ultimately Lamar could just take over
the game and take off and run and do the
things that he does that make him so special. But
it's playing from the pocket too, within the system, throwing
the football that makes them dangerous to in the emergence
of a guy like Zay Flowers.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
So I would say, I don't know that.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
San Francisco really cares because I think they give so
many people mismatch issues that it doesn't matter who you're
talking about, Like, yeah, it'd be tough to face Miami
because of Mike McDaniel. He's familiar obviously with everything Kyle
Shanahan does Vic Fango is a.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Great defensive coordinator.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
You know some from a scheme standpoint, I think they'd
probably look at them and say, I don't know if
we want to look at how are you killing all
that speed the way Mike McDaniel's going to use them.
But if you're comparing rosters like that defensive front for
San fran should be able to get after Miami up front.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
And by the way, San Francisco Baltimore is the Christmas
Night matchup, so we're going to get to see that
game coming up here in a couple of weeks. Those
are the two teams that are favored to win the
Super Bowl. If you look at the odds in most places,
it's going to be San Francisco and Baltimore that are
going to be favored to win the Super Bowl. As
you pointed out, I would like to know, though, Lee,
can you look up what is the Christmas Day schedule
(11:31):
for the NBA, because I'd like to know how they're
feeling watch that well, I know, but the point is
I want to know how they're feeling about the fact
that they're going to try and put some game up
head to head against this one and what they actually
expect to get done if we can get a potential
Super Bowl preview in the forty nine Ers and the Ravens.
What's the NBA Christmas Day schedule?
Speaker 5 (11:49):
Look, so there's five games we have tipping off Bucks
at Nicks, nine am, Warriors.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
At Nuggets specific time by the way, yes that is correct.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
Warriors at Nuggets, Celtics at Lakers always good.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
What about five fifteen Pacific time? That will be the
Sixers at the Heat. Yeah, it's a good thought. Have
fun everybody. There'll be about eleven people watching that.
Speaker 5 (12:13):
Game, and then the last game nobody's watching this MAVs
at Suns.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Yeah, that's a little definitely a good game. Yeah, Jeezi Lely,
why do you get a pile on? You know, we're
just trying to.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
You know, really should move back the season, just kick
it off on Christmas.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
I think they'd add more, you know, a lower something
to it. It'd be better than the way it is now.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Yeah. I agree, all right, But we did.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
Have the n season tournament, so that was a that
was a success, was.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
A hit, right, It's just like, I be honest, did
you have I.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Thought it was really neat? I mean the court was
painted different. I almost didn't even recognize what was happening. Yes,
this is still bad. This is still the NBA.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
I mean, you know they were drinking champagne afterwards, they
were I mean it was I mean great man, Like.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Can I quote you from what you said Friday?
Speaker 4 (12:58):
Did you or did you not say that the the
LA sports teams are the best at winning?
Speaker 3 (13:04):
How did you say it?
Speaker 1 (13:06):
All the stuff that nobody else wants. It's right, you know,
it's like all the they like they're like, yeah, well
we'll take that. It's like cool, nobody else wanted that.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
They're like the ball trash pickup people who come down
before ball.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Trash and they're like taking the stuff right off the curve.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
It's like it's like an oven that doesn't work, a
barbecue lid and like.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Yeah, it's like it's like they'll figure out a way
of work not for scrap or getting before it goes
to the ball track.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah, they like La LA teams are like the Lakers
are the scrap metal of sports. Like they'll go ahead,
they'll take you. Oh nobody wants to play during COVID,
We'll win that one. Cool, here's your half ring and
you can try and consider it a real title. It's like, Okay, well, uh, well,
this end season tournament. Cool, We'll take this one, even
though they were given some phantom time out and they
didn't have possession for it. Like, the whole just the
(13:50):
whole thing was too goofy for me. You know, I
need the real stuff like football.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
I think the hard thing for me is like hyping
it up to make it. I'm like, I still don't
as a fan, like I just I can't get into it,
you know, I just I can't get excited about a
tournament that ultimately like we're gonna see who wins the
NBA Finals and that'll determine the seasons championship. No one's
gonna look back and go, yeah, but you know what,
you know, the Suns won the NBA Finals, But man,
(14:17):
the Lakers won that in season tournament.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Like, no one's gonna turn on say that.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
The best part is when they justify it by saying, well,
but they do this over in Europe. Okay, they do
a lot of things over in Europe, you know, and
and and some things they don't leave.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
You know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
Red light district, buddy, something Jones some things they don't
do over in Europe, which you know some of us
would not recommend. Right, So but again, this is the
whole thing, is what is wrong with you? I just
I'm just saying the idea, the idea that we're going
to go ahead and we're going to comp and do
(14:54):
this whole fun and dance and song and dance with
the NBA, and why they should make this work and
this is what makes them It's just like none of it.
It was goofy from the get go, paint your courts
all you want.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Well, that's the thing is all the coverage of it
has been like this is just incredible, Like who would
have thought when they could pull this off and.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
Do this something.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
TNT and ESPN they're doing a joint broadcast together. Yeah,
who's that help? ESPN doesn't help TNT. They've got the
best studio show on the planet, I know them and
Big New Kickoff.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Yeah. I would put Tanta to in a category of
their own.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
I wouldn't you know, I would, because they're that good.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. Coming up a
little over twenty minutes from now, we're going to close
up shop here with another edition of You In or
You Out that'll be yours here on a Monday morning.
We will tell you who is out because they were
out of the game late in that game yesterday, one
of which was CJ. Stroud of the Houston Texans. The
(16:52):
stellar rookie who's going to be Rookie of the Year
goes down with the head injury. Helmet hit the turf.
Not a good look. But that was not a good
game for the Houston Texans. They're dealing with the elements.
On the flip side, Zach Wilson looked fantastic, probably the
best game maybe of his career, but a bad situation
for the Houston Texans. No Tank, Dell Nicocollins. I mean
(17:16):
it felt like this was a feel good story that
hit a little bit of a snag yesterday.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
No, I mean it would have an uphindal battle anyway,
considering how good the Jets defense is. But you know,
Nico Collins gets knocked out early, c J. Stroud there
towards the end, and really you just don't feel like
they are going to have any ability to remain in
the playoff hunt if CJ. Stroud's not a quarterback and
they all have anyone for him to throw to. You know,
(17:42):
the tank Tell has been such a difference maker for him.
Nico Collins has stepped up two at times in a
big way. But without Stroud, I just I don't think
their defense can hold up. I think he saw evidence
of that yesterday, and I'm not sure they're able to
dominate running the football either.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
So tough for Damiko.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Ryans, who has you know, him and his staff and
so so well this year kind of changing the culture,
if you will, and really getting the most out of
this team. So disappointing for Texans fans, but also good
for Zach Wilson. You know, a lot of different speculation
as to what went on this past week, but at
(18:18):
the end of the day, he went out played football,
played some of his best football, and blocked out all
the noise. So you're seeing the maturation process, you know,
for him out there I think as a quarterback, and
it still keeps him, you know, in line for maybe
outside chance of making the playoffs and maybe outside you
chance that Aaron Rodgers comes back.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
There was a report that came out on Saturday out
of Utah a reporter who noted that part of the
issue was the fact that after his initial benching this year,
that Zach Wilson and Robert Sala had a conversation and
they mutually agreed to part ways after the season. Like
that's that's where they just headed. And then you had
all the back and forth last week, and it's like
(19:00):
I just look at it and I go it's it's
while everybody was wanting to pile on Zack Wilson and
Zach Wilson this, and Zack Wilson that, Like there's a
reason why it hasn't worked for a lot of people
in New York, Like it just seems like it's the usual,
the same old story, the Jets, the Jets, the Jets.
There's always an issue whether and it's like all these
(19:22):
weird stories that come in off the field, like all
of these like like crazy play, they always seem to
happen to the Jets. The problem was there well before
Zach Wilson got there. And it appears unless Rogers comes back,
it's going to be there after the season, and there's
going to be question marks and things like that. I
just this idea that it was all on Zach Wilson,
I just thought was a little bit comical and just
(19:43):
the more that we hear come out of there, just
this is typical New York Jets. This is what they do. Great,
you were there, you saw that organization.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
Yeah, and it was a different time, right, different head coach,
different front office, but still there was a disconnect. You
could feel that as a player being there. But this
is different. I mean, I think the one thing is
that's interesting. You know, people are you know, throwing bouquets
at at Zach Wilson for how he's handled this particular
week and how he handled things after the win, and
it's like, well, you know a lot of guys just
(20:09):
do that when they come into the league, you know,
and I understand like they're excited about, you know, the
progress that they're seeing from him, and they want to
be complimentary of him because you know, who knows if
he's going to be of the Jets next year, for
he's gonna be somewhere else. You know, all that's up
in the air, maybe still being evaluated, maybe based on
the report. You just you know, referenced. You know, maybe
it is over, maybe they are to go the separate
(20:31):
way however you want to view that. But there's also
a thought that you know, look, I understand people are
happy about where he's at now, but this is kind
of where I think you should have been initially. You
play quarterback enough in college football to know that when
things go well.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
You give praise to everyone else.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
When things go bad, you take the ownership of that.
That's how it works, like, that's just what it is
as a quarterback because you know better than everyone else.
You get all the credit and too much credit when
things go well, and then you probably get too much
of the blame. And you've been conditioned to wear that
hat your entire.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Life since you've played quarterback.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
So it's just it's always surprising to me where when
guys getting the league, in particular the quarterback spot, and
they don't take on that sort of persona and they
don't take on that sort of public image and the
way they go about handling adversity. So that's that's always
how it's supposed to be.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
And that report speaking of credit goes to Doug Robinson
of The Desert News out of Utah, who had the
report that Robert Salah Zach Wilson agreed to mutually part
ways after the year after his initial benching, which probably
led to his hesitation for wanting to come back in
and all the other stuff that came in throughout the
past few days there in New York. Now another quarterback
has got some problems. Justin Herbert has now got a
(21:47):
broken index finger on his throwing hand. So this is
the second, I guess issue he's ad. Yeah, I mean
he's like, so what is he like? Is he gonna
be walking around like et just pointed with his finger
sticking out the whole time that we're looking at here.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
With Well, you do to watch Seinfeld, So I can't
really reference any Seinfeld episodes, but there was one where
there was a hand model and I believe the guy
used to wear like a glass case around his hands.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
He didn't want that, right, it happened to it.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
Yeah, so maybe that's how he needs to proceed moving forward,
covering in case over his hand.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
Look, it's it's brutal. I was actually listening to us,
the great Steve de Sager, who was talking, and he
does he works the Charger home games because he's in
the press box, and he was saying that it was
the quietest that he's ever heard that place.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
That.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
Yeah, because like the Broncos, you know, I mean, which
is a great story of themselves. But it feels like
the Chargers they're going nowhere in a hurry. There's going
to be a change at coach at the end of
the year. And this is what a lot of people projected.
It's almost like a couple of years ago when the
Arizona Cardinals got blown out in that playoff game against
(22:58):
the Rams, they almost never recover. It feels like the
Chargers after that playoff collapse last year against Jacksonville never recovered.
And we're gonna have a brand new head coach at
the end of this whole thing, and Justin Herbert's gonna
have to to figure out you know, who knows if
there's mass changes of Kellen Moore's retained, who knows what
happens there. But it is not a great season for
(23:18):
the La Chargers.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
No, it's been unfortunate and not knowing the specifics of
the injury yet, I mean, I went through having a malefinger.
I broke my right index finger, you know, tried to
play the falling week couldn't really tape it up or
or be able to support it enough to really you know,
have any power pop on the throw since your right
index fingers the last thing that touches that football as
it comes off your hand. So they could have been
(23:42):
a really tough spot where it could even be east
and stick you know the rest of the way if
they do what they did for me, where you're gonna
throw pins in to then stabilize that so the bones
and the ligaments can all, you know, heal up and
obviously create stability back through that finger. But I mean,
I'll say this, much like I lost, I don't really
(24:02):
have much, you know, feeling on the end of my finger.
That's usually what happens when you kind of you know,
throw some stuff in your body and all that.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
There's gonna be a little bit of nerve damage.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
Always, But in this case, it'll be interesting to see
if if he can hang on, because without Herbert, I
don't feel like they've they've got much of a shot
of climbing back into this, and so it feels like
the writing's on the wall for the most part for
Brandon Staley. And the last thing I say too is
you know he's going to manage how and when they
go for fourth downs. I know he's overly aggressive with
(24:31):
the way they handle those situations and their game management.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
But you know, it comes a point in time where,
like you got to read the room.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
If you've got a backup quarterback in there who hasn't
been as prepared, you know, to run some of these situations.
Like I can promise you when you're preparing throughout the
course of the week, the the end of game situations,
the force down, the fourth down, the critical situations that
you are are game planning for the starters taking.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
He's not giving up those reps.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
If he's giving up reps, it's it's probably down a
nine on seven where it's mostly a run period so
you can get down the footwork for handing the football off.
He might give up a few reps in a seven
on seven period or maybe team pass or something earlier
in the week for for first and second down. He's
not giving up third down reps. He's not giving up
red zone reps, two minute reps. You know, critical situation reps.
(25:19):
Those are the ones that as a starter, you want
to be out there working with the guys. You're gonna
be throwing to like you even like you could have
a wide receiver who might be out and you'll be say, hey,
I need you in for this play, like I need
a sense of timing and rhythm or or how this
window is going to open up and close like for
this particular play. And so you're you're a lot of
times trying to make sure you have everything out there
(25:40):
and practice like it's going to be in a game.
And so when you're a head coach and you've got
to backup in unless it's dire circumstances, depending on the
point of the game, you got to be more aware
of that sort of thing. It's not like the Charges
defense hasn't been improved.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
That group's one hundred percent been improved the last few weeks.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Now, two of the worst performances this week in the
NFL were belonging to those Chargers and then also the
Las Vegas Raiders, And it's appropriate because they're on a
collision course. That'll be your Thursday game on Amazon Prime,
so I'm sure that'll do massive numbers. Still and al
Michaels is thrilled to have to go to Vegas to
(26:21):
cover this one.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
Do you think that makes the steak not taste this good.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
Somehow, I think Al Michaels is kind of I think
he's like most of the blowback he got last year.
I think people are going to look at this one
and say, you know what, Al, we're with you, and
they're going to serve him like one of those big,
like great outdoors ninety six ouncers, and he's just gonna
sit there and chew on it during the entire game.
That would be the move there. Now, the old ninety
(26:46):
six Yeah, the old ninety six er. There's that play,
but gristle and fat and then he goes and he
eats it and he throws up outside. Now, when you
mentioned the finger injury, was that the one that you've
talked about on the air before where they numbed you
up and we're drilling into your hand. Is that the one?
Speaker 3 (27:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (27:03):
Yeah, Well we didn't know, Like like during the game,
I just thought i'd like stoved it like you would
like a basketball when you're playing right, you jam your
finger and so then afterwards, you know, we won on
Monday football, we're all excited. It wasn't until the Wednesday
at practice where like my my finger was still really swollen.
I was have a hard time moving my index or
my middle finger. And so finally after practice, like they
(27:24):
tried drilling through the nail because it was there was
blood under the nail to like release some of it,
because that's typically what you do. And I was like, man,
I think you're going in pretty deep. I think I
think we've drilled far enough. Let's let's maybe let's maybe
let's maybe give it a break.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
The other end.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
Yeah, and then then we went for X rays and
they kind of like came back. They're like, hey, look
here's the deal. This is what's happening. Yeah, yeah, no,
it was. It was what was frustrating was at that
time of year in Cleveland, you really got to be
able to spin the football and have control of the
nose of the football when you're throwing. Otherwise like you're
not going to be able to be very accurate. The
ball is gonna flutter on you and and it matters
(28:05):
up there big time. So we came out the next game,
you know, honestly, like didn't. I made a couple of
throws but not enough, made one poor decision on a pick,
and then outside of that, they were like, hey, this
isn't working.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
I was like, yeah, it's probably.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Not that receivers fault. He ran the wrong route.
Speaker 4 (28:21):
No, No, that was one hundred percent in my fault.
Like I definitely definitely got foot on the coverage it was.
Actually the funny thing was is had I just read
the play out to the progression instead of trying to
throw a skinny post and on the backside, it would
have been perfectly fine.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
The problem was as they they dropped off.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
The backside end even though they rotated down on the
same side, which didn't make any sense. So if I
just would have thrown, if I had read the other
side of the field, just thrown to the flat, it
would have been wide open for a huge game. But
there in lies like interception, it's like, oh that's not
looking good.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
All right, Well, here's what's not rough. The progressive play
of the day. Do you think I haven't pinning the
Tylan Wallace? I have been hying to Wobbler all settles
under it at the twenty five gets a block comes
over an airside thirty spins out of one tackle thirty

If they're in at least or if they're.
Speaker 5 (31:30):
Out, all right, Lee to lap what we got guys.
We have double Barrel Action. We'll talking about it a bunch.
Are you guys enter out on the Packers as six
point favorites on the road at MetLife out.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
I'm out. I think the Giants can keep this one
close with passion.
Speaker 5 (31:52):
You do it, though he takes Deveno to get you
over there.
Speaker 4 (32:00):
They're just saying a myzomb bash a goal.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
By the way, have you seen any of this a
of the stakes coming out of New York where there's
been reports that Wink, martinle and Brian Dave all don't
exactly get along as far as I think there.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
Was two or three weeks ago where there was a
heated discussion on the sidelines.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
I remember seeing that. I didn't really see much after that.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
But look, when you mirror a playoff team one year,
the next year doesn't go as well. Even though I
think you could all point to the quarterback situation being
the single biggest issue for them, someone still has to
take the fall and you know, end up getting blamed.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
It all that.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
That was Martin Dale's quote over the week. Eddie just said, well, yeah,
he's our relationship is the same. We're just not winning
this year.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
It's like that's how it is.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
Yeah, I mean, look at the frustration on the sidelines
for the Chiefs, Yeah, seriously, Like, have you ever seen
Mahomes and Andy explode like that now? And part of
it's the frustration because they felt like Kadarius Tony did
check with the official and Tracy Wolfson backed up a
report that you know was confirmed. You know that he
did check, and they're upset with the line judge about it.
(33:13):
So anyway, there's more to that, but I think you obviously,
frustration usually rears its ugly head when you don't win enough.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
Football games, guys, double barrel.
Speaker 5 (33:23):
We also have Titans at Dolphins where Dolphins are two
touchdown favorites at home.
Speaker 4 (33:29):
Yeah, if they were on the road, it'd be feel
a little bit different. But yeah, Tyreek killing a prime
time spot like this, it's a lot of points.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
It feels like kind of a showcase game for them
as well too.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
Yeah, yeah, you got fiends to the left, Fiends to
the right.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
Oh, sing it single and.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
You're the only one in town.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
Like a little twang, a little trail.
Speaker 5 (33:56):
Town A Brady, Were you in on a Jayden Daniels
winning heisman?
Speaker 4 (34:03):
I was, I have a vote. I'll be transparent, that
is who I voted for. I thought he was spectacular
of the season I know somebody came up with a
statu They were like, you know.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
Twenty five percent of his touchdowns worth his fourth or against.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
Two teams like okay, man, come on, man, like I
don't get it. It's like people can't be happy for people. Look,
he was, you know, a good player at Arizona State,
transferred to LSU, and he's become a great player now
a Heisman Trophy winner. Give the young man a ton
of credit for his path, his journey and everything he
was able to do.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Well, if not against these Okay, all right, well I'll
tell you what.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
Okay, so take away those.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
He's actually still competitive with everyone else who was up
there for the Heisman.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
He had that many touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
This is what BOTHERSI with stats because you could literally
turn anything into a stat and it annoys me at times.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
Don't lie, though, Jonas, they don't lie.
Speaker 1 (34:54):
Dude, got your stats right here? There is what else?
Speaker 3 (34:58):
Lee?
Speaker 5 (34:58):
Uh, this is a weird one. But I had it
in the holster for a while. I know you didn't
do it, Jonas because you have your kid with you.
But are you guys in er out on single writer's
line at a theme park?
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Like single writers line? You guys have kids so you
don't know.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
But single writers like you get a separate line because
you're there by yourself.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
Yeah, even though you're with people.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
Yeah, I'm against that line like everyone else.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
Lee.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
Yeah No, it's not like.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
You don't have an adult beverage in your in your hand. Come,
it's true.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
I I gotta sip on that.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
Yeah, shockly
