Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio.
LaVar Arrington and I would say Brady Quinn and Jonas Knox,
but uh lead to lab being playing around today?
Speaker 4 (00:46):
So what happened? Why?
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Why was he giving you such a hard time?
Speaker 4 (00:51):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (00:51):
Man, Brady came in hot today on a Monday.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
I had to let him.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
I had to put him in the box.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I mean he'sy, I mean he's uh, you know, a
bit of a red ass to begin with, but he
was extra extra red today.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
And I wonder why he was acting. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
But but now but Lee literally disconnected him and now
he's not he's not letting him back on the show.
Brady's texting me, and I'm like, I don't know, I
don't know how to dial anybody up and and and
get you ready to go.
Speaker 5 (01:23):
So I lost them.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
All right, well let's get fired. Don't mess around. Lesson learned,
all right, So we got we got to mind our
p's and q's, in this case, our b's and q's
lebar Arrington because uh well Lee's not messing around.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Man.
Speaker 6 (01:41):
Yeah, that needs to be a shirt. Dang, what are
we coming up? Can I do it?
Speaker 4 (01:53):
Like? At some point it has to be done? Can
I do it? What we need? A show store?
Speaker 7 (01:59):
Man?
Speaker 3 (01:59):
I just list As long as I get paid, that's
all I care about. Somebody wants to put it together.
I just want, you know, I want a little piece
of the cot, you know, for for some of these
So you so.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
You like Marvin Harrison Junior. Huh you gotta you gotta
control your name, image and likeness as it applies to
this stuff.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yeah, okay, I mean basically you know that. That's that's
the way this is gonna work. Although I've also got
the same uh same amount of wins against Michigan in
my career too, so do I Yeah, wait, you never
beat Michigan, No, really, never beat them.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Only team never got a dub against.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
How many times you beat Ohio State twice?
Speaker 4 (02:42):
Oh yeah, you know two out of three? Yeah, we like,
that's why I said they made me the number two
overall pick. So I love Ohio State, but Michigan, I
mean Michigan. I destroyed Michigan too. I was banging. I
was banging up tom Brady. Pause. I was banging him
up so good that they was like, welcome. This is like,
this is what it feels like to be hitting the NFL,
(03:04):
like they were talking about he was in an NFL
game that day. His ass still pulled it out though
he pulled him through. Bro, we had like a ten
point lead on them with like eight minutes left. Something crazy.
I mean, we was walking them down all day long.
Then the dude just, you know, dude just did what
(03:24):
Tom Brady did. They should have known what Tom Brady
was going to be in the league by watching his
game against us OUR last year ninety nine.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Well suck man, Well listen, here's what doesn't suck. What
Tom Brady is going to be calling games? Yes, right
games now. We talked about this a little bit last week.
How's it going to work? The fact that he's trying
to become an owner or part owner of the Raiders,
and and you know, is it a conflict of interest
(03:54):
to him calling games while also being an owner of
an NFL team? And all systems go, and he's got
clearance to go ahead and call whatever games he wants.
But he did show up to a UFL game in
Detroit over the weekend, and some people have thought, you know,
could this be him kind of maybe getting his feet
(04:15):
wet in the broadcasting world. Maybe Tom Brady would be uh,
would be on the call for some of these UFO
UFL games. Yeah, whatever it should be. UH could be
on the call for some of these UFL games and
and potentially be out there when you know, and try
and get his feet wet with all this stuff. And
I look at it and I go, I sure, hope not.
(04:38):
I don't want any practice reps. I don't want a
preseason game. I don't want a UFL game, a UFO game.
I don't care what it is. I want him Week
one in Cleveland, Brown's Cowboys Dak Prescott versus Massage Watson
with Tom Brady on the call. That's what I want
(04:59):
no no practice, no nothing, get out there, this whole
thing out. What do you think of that?
Speaker 4 (05:07):
No? Jelly ye nothing raw.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
By the way, you're the game you called for Fox
was in Cleveland.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Wasn't it? It was?
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (05:16):
And I did it raw.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Do you wish do you wish you would have had?
Speaker 4 (05:21):
Damn?
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Do you wish you would have had some practice runs
before you went out there? No?
Speaker 4 (05:26):
I did have a practice run the day before. It
wasn't like a practice practice run, but it was pretty cool.
You feel pretty important calling games. I'll say that the
way like the process of it all it was, I
would just say for me, it was all about learning
(05:48):
the pacing that was and you want to stay natural
in the moment. But it ultimately comes down to your
familiarity with the names. So that's like if you're going
into it. I would assume for for Brady that that
they're probably teaching him all of the words, like all
(06:09):
of the names he needs to know so when he
gets to that game week like any game, because they've announced.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
His games, right, Uh, not every game, but.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
They announced a lot of them.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Well, I mean he's gonna be doing you know, obviously,
the the bigger what what the A team. I guess
she can call it her.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
The numb I can guarantee you he knows the games
he's calling, and the the network knows the games he's calling.
They're gonna make sure they've probably already made sure that
on like names that he needs to know, because that's
generally the biggest thing because everything else all he has
to do is there's there's small storylines that will will
(06:50):
play out during the course of a game, Jonas, But
it's usually the you know, it's usually the not not
the analyst, but the color the the color guy, What's
what's the other guy? What's gus? The host? He's the host, right, Yeah,
it's usually the hosts that are are setting up those things,
and then you react to it as as the pro
(07:11):
you know what I mean. So Brady will have no
problem giving insight, He'll have no problem giving stories that
resonate with the audience, which is that's what they're going
to look for, is for his personality to come into play,
you know what I mean. But I would say, for me,
the biggest thing that he probably will will face is
(07:32):
just enunciating the names correctly and getting in and out
of his points. But he's Tom Brady, so they'll just heal.
He'll be able to talk and have conversation a little bit,
probably like how Troy does or like how Tony Romo does.
He'll have a little bit more latitude to be able
to speak a little bit more. But generally, you got
(07:54):
to get in and you got to get out super
super super quickly. And that's that's that's complicated. That's that's
tough to do.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
Uh. This is gonna be one of the first times
in a long time that I can think of where
people are going to be watching that game to hear it,
not really see it, Like they're gonna be more focused
on the sounds instead of the sites, because I think
there's a lot of people who are gonna come away
from that game and go, well, how did Tom Brady do?
(08:24):
Like nevermind? You know, Deshaun Watson and Dak Prescott and
the Browns and the Cowboys and it's Week one and
their playoff teams and there's a lot on the line
this year. Is this the end of the road for
Dak and Dallas and Deshaun Watson's got to prove it
this year and all that stuff. I think the big
takeaway from that game is how did Tom Brady do?
Which is wild to think about. And this is why
(08:45):
when people push back on how much money Fox gave
him to do this, well, this is why, Like he's
a star and he's the greatest to ever do it,
and the fact that he's going to get this opportunity,
so many people are either going to be in a
crowded house or a crowded room and tell everybody in
the room to shut their mouths or shut the hell
(09:06):
up because they want to hear how Tom Brady does.
And he's probably gonna get You know, there's gonna be
people that are going to criticize him all over social media.
Probably stay out of your mentions afterwards, right, you don't
want to. You don't want to have any sort of
an issue or a meltdown. There was a guy who
who was calling games for Fox years ago. I used
to be the UFC broadcaster, was the play by play
(09:29):
guy for the UFC, and he did an NFL game
and fans were critical of him and he got into
it with fans on social media afterwards and never called
another game again. So you know, word of the wise,
for Tom Brady, you're gonna get criticized. All right, there's
gonna be there's gonna be some some comments thrown your way.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
I've already told you this man, he he he's too
much of a perfectionist. Him, him proving anyone that he
fills in his mind with doubt, him proving them wrong
is something that has has truly proven to be a
great fuel for him and what he does. So he's
(10:13):
going to be more than what people are expecting and
thinking he's going to be. He's not going to be
the less. He is going to be the more. And
that's you're You're not going to see Tom Brady flop.
It's not going to be a flop job at all.
You're not going to see somebody who's taking it lightly
(10:34):
and they just show up and do the games like
this dude, I can I can only imagine what he
has done to prepare for his first game call. I
can only imagine what he's done. But it's probably been
very extensive because he's not He's not going to step
in there and embarrass himself and do anything that would
(10:59):
possibly put potentially hurt or ruin his legacy and his brand.
He's done too much to build it. It happen.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Yeah, it's it's gonna be fun to watch.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
Though.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
It's gonna be fun to watch. We get to see
how it all plays out. But yeah, listen, don't call
the UFL title game, don't worry about doing any preseason games.
Let's go ahead. Let's keep this and keep it closed,
keep the lid on, and then we just release it
week one.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
I don't disagree with that. I just think you keep
it behind closed doors, like you said, I don't why
would you unless you're using it because he's the tide,
that's right. It's raising all ships right like that roast.
There's a lot of people that had their ships raised
by that roast. Yeah, you know what I mean, their
value went up. So do you take the value up?
(11:48):
I would imagine the ratings of a show that he's
on is going to be crazy. So are you cross
promoting to make sure that you build up a property
an asset that you have at Fox, which I would
assume is yes. That's a yes. So if that's the
key to it all, you're leveraging, you know, you're leveraging
(12:09):
a brand that you're paying so much money to. Of course,
you're you're gonna maybe put as many eyeballs on that
UFL game as you possibly can by leveraging something like
bringing to Taylor Swift to the game or having Tom
Brady call his first game, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (12:25):
Yeah, good call. I mean, yeah, I wonder would I.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
Mean, don't you think that they were paying I mean,
if you think about it, don't you think they were
paying Taylor Swift like the the the television you know,
stations and all that stuff. Don't you think they were like, hey, look,
we'll give you five million dollars to just come watch
this game. Oh please go, absolutely, please just show up
(12:51):
to this game.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
I mean, I wouldn't put it past them.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
But if I'm Fox, if I'm if, I'm uh, you know, ESPN,
If I'm which, which, what's the other ones? Is NBC?
Does NBC?
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Yeah, Telemundo, uh, CBS.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
CBS, CBS, That's what I was looking for. They're gonna
pay If that's gonna get people to come come watch.
Why why wouldn't you pay her? And then why wouldn't
you film her going into the stadium and stuff like that.
Tom Brady can get viewership, probably more so than the
players playing in the game.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
You know, it must be sweet to charge an appearance fee.
That's gonna be like, like what a rush to the ego?
Like what was your appearance fee when you were playing?
What was it? Like two million dollars? What you want
to see Stick City? You gotta pay?
Speaker 4 (13:42):
Well, if you wanted to see Stick City, that that's
a different process. Time, it's a different process. Gee dang.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
And you pay two million dollars appearance fee if you
want to if you want LeVar Arrington, it's just saying
to come to your party. Now would you be uh so,
would you like go to little kid's birthday parties? But
only if it was for a certain amount of money?
Like how does that process work?
Speaker 4 (14:10):
Like how do I never been a money dude? Man? Yeah,
for stuff like that. If it's for a company or
something to that effect, then yeah, I take my personal
appearance fees. But if it's for like kids, like oh
can you come to my game? That's that's stuff like that.
I always you know, I always made myself.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
Oh I would jack the price up more. You want
me to go to some Little League game I don't
care about and there's no booze there. Yeah, listen, we
double that appearance fee. And if you don't like that.
You can kiss my ass. That's how I operate. It's
cold world out there, right. This is how you get
stuff done. That's what I'm talking about. By the way,
I think my appearance fee is like two three bucks something.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Is I don't know, something like you got a little
higher value than that. Bruh, I don't know. You see
what people Jonas? People know Jonas man Jonas joke.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
By the way, uh Jonas, So multiple people have seen
the splatter out in front of the studio. That's blood man,
all right, I'm calling it right now, like I don't
want to hear anything about barbecue, sauce. I don't want
to hear ketchup paint or any anything else. And anybody
wants to throw out there, that's blood and it's blood splatter. Loraina,
(15:17):
you've seen it, all right? Are you gonna go with blood?
I'm gonna go with blood, Jonas, All right, Lee, We're
going with blood.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
I'm going other What else could it be? Oh, there's
plenty else. It could be what did.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Somebody spill their rocky road on the way end of
the studio.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
It could be what Brady said before he uh you know,
he ghosted us.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Yeah, I mean it could be Eddie. Have you seen
the splatter out in front of the studio you're going
with blood or what.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
I'm sorry, I have not seen the splotter.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Okay, we'll go take look at it. Go take a peek,
go look at the bottom of it.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
I'm telling you. It's a possum. It's a possum or
or cat. And they it got hit up. It tried
to run and I thought it was going to get away.
It got hit up, It got hit up. Coyotes, coyotes
out there, they play it for keeps. Broye wasn't set
you claiming possum?
Speaker 3 (16:10):
Is the trail?
Speaker 5 (16:13):
Is it leading to the door or away from the door.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
It looks like it's leading to the door.
Speaker 5 (16:17):
Like if somebody or is it somebody running away?
Speaker 4 (16:20):
I don't know, it really doesn't matter. It looks like
they came to a ditch.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
And I told you that security guard it's like nothing happened.
He was like, whatever, all right, Well I guess we're
I guess we're cool here, So so there we go.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
It was it was probably a possum. The way that
that the mark looks, it was probably a possible it
wasn't quick enough to be a cat. Yeah, you know,
it's just too too forward, like just right forward.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
It might have gotten stubbed by the door, you know,
you open the door too fast. It hit the possum
in the butt, or maybe it hit someone's big toe.
And then that looks like a coyote with a switchblade.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
That's that's right, that's what That's what I'm trying to
tell you. Yeah, they was running.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Up on him, Yeah, with what one of those box
cutter knives and just stuck.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
There on their side. They got box cutters for teeth.
Yeah you know what I mean, Bam hitting them up,
you know what I mean with the teeth. Hell yeah,
that dip was in trouble man, you know what I mean,
Like you thought you was about to get you, was
about to get through you, was about to get away,
and you realized that you came to a dead end. Yeah,
you know them dead ends and get you. Yeah, you
(17:29):
know what I mean. That's in every horror flick, you
know what I mean, Like that was horror flick. Blood
on the ground right there, that dead end dip. That
did end dip, bro, you don't want that dead end dip.
Speaker 3 (17:39):

we get tons and tons of fan mail every day,
piles of it.
Speaker 8 (18:17):
In fact, Tony, why.
Speaker 7 (18:17):
Don't you open up one of those letters right now
and read what's inside?
Speaker 8 (18:20):
Hey, listen to this. Dear Paulie and Tony, your sports
takes the dumbest and most terribly.
Speaker 7 (18:26):
Not Wait, why open this other one?
Speaker 8 (18:28):
Dear Pauli and Toni, you suck more than anyone. Wait,
try this one. Dear Paulie and Tony, you guys are
the absolute best. There you go coming up with the
stupidest take.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
Forget it.
Speaker 7 (18:41):
Just listen to the Polly and Tony Fusco Show on
the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get
your podcasts.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Yeah, two pros and a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Jonas Knox with the here if you're wondering
where Brady Quinn is, he was here earlier in the show.
Lee has suspended him for the rest of the show
for conduct detrimental to the show. In another edition of
In Case You missed It earlier, Brady added attitude. Lee
(19:09):
didn't like the attitude out of there, so no more.
Brady coined the rest of the show, so he got
the uh he got tossed courtesy of lead the lap
And by tossed, I mean thrown out of the show.
I want to be clear on that. I want to
make it clear.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
What else would be? What else would be getting tossed?
What you mean, man, Oh, what do you mean?
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Bad that you got problems?
Speaker 4 (19:35):
Bad?
Speaker 3 (19:38):
You got problems?
Speaker 4 (19:41):
I really know where you were at with it. I
don't get it.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
By the way they're showing, uh, they're showing highlights right
now on I think it's an NFL network of the
Fog Bowl. You remember the Fog Bowl between the Bears
and the Eagles back in God, was it eighty eight?
I think it was nineteen eighty eight. But why does
Philadelphia not just where those unis every single week? Like
(20:05):
those vintage throwback Eagles jerseys from the eighties early nineties,
those are the ones, like, it's so much better than
the new whatever this new stuff is that they're rolling
out here. Go back to the vintage. Same with the Seahawks,
same with some of these other teams, the Giants, and
not those one hundred year jerseys. The Giants came up with.
(20:27):
Those look terrible, Like, just go back to the vintage stuff.
It was so much better back in the day. Lee,
Do you have an update on those Eagles jerseys or
the Fog Bowl?
Speaker 2 (20:36):
No?
Speaker 5 (20:36):
I agree that it should.
Speaker 9 (20:37):
I think every team, like once one week out of
the year should everybody should do their throwbacks right, not
just like randomly, because it always just kind of takes
you by surprise.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Weeks one through eighteen.
Speaker 5 (20:48):
There you go.
Speaker 9 (20:49):
Yeah, And by the way, the Fog Bowl nineteen eighty
eight was New Year's Eve nineteen eighty eight.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
It was the last day of the year nineteen eight
and if I if I have it right, I believe
the Bears want it twenty to twelve. I'm not mistaken.
I think that was the final score twenty to twelve
of the Fog Bowl in nineteen eighty eight? Is that correctly?
Am I correct on that? I'm almost positive it was
twenty to twelve?
Speaker 4 (21:12):
Yes? You are? Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
See, so I'm talking about so there's that there's twenty
to twelve. Ye back when what.
Speaker 4 (21:21):
You could be proud proud of what your team?
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Who's team?
Speaker 4 (21:25):
What your team?
Speaker 3 (21:26):
You're talking about?
Speaker 4 (21:27):
What you mean while I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
Listen, it's been some lean years for the Chicago Bears,
but your guy Klea Williams hoping to hoping to change
all that. You know, who's it was the one? You know,
who's the quarterback for a team that's had some lean years,
Trevor Lawrence and, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the
next quarterback to get the big payday that we've been
(21:50):
kind of wondering about, like who's going to be the
next guy to get this big payday? Now that Jared
Goff's gotten his extension done and that the numbers and
the contracts keep going up and up up. He's wondering
and he's anticipating that it's going to be Trevor Lawrence
and the Jacksonville Jaguars who get a deal done a
massive contract extension for their quarterback in what could pay
(22:13):
out and was expected to pay out rather over fifty
million dollars a year for Trevor Lawrence. And I'm going
to ask you this because I think he's going to
get the contract. I think that they've identified him as
their franchise quarterback. But is he played the type of
football thus far in his career to warrant that type
(22:37):
of contract or is it just a matter of he's
the next guy, He's the next one in line, and
this is the way this stuff goes when you're a quarterback.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
Yeah. I mean I think we've already established that, you
know what I mean, like in terms of if a
guy is up next or if they're deserving of it.
And I think that it's one hundred percent more, not
that it's than it.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
We got a uh with that, Okay, got you?
Speaker 4 (23:06):
What's that? Oh?
Speaker 3 (23:07):
We had some technical difficulties.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
Okay, n Jeremy ye, now you got me. We got you, Yeah,
I don't. I don't. I don't see there being an
issue with him getting paid because that's just kind of
what's established. It's not it's not about if they're deserving
of it versus is it is it more? Is it
more feasible? Is it more practical in terms of what
(23:31):
that that player at that position represents too, to that
community and to that franchise, their ability to sell tickets,
their ability to monetize. Through Trevor Lawrence, it's still very high.
Just like it's still very high. We had the same
question for what that looks like for Dak Prescott this
next time around. It's still high. You look at some
(23:55):
of these other teams, they're they're not. They clearly didn't
feel than fields, right, So it was like, we're not
going to give you a new contract, We're going to
get rid of you. So it's it's just to me,
it definitely is based off of more than just deserving it,
off of your body of work on the field. It's not,
(24:16):
it's not, it's not connected to just that one factor.
It's otherwise it wouldn't that wouldn't be the case.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
It's a projection. You're projecting that he's going to be,
you know, one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL
for years to come. Because like my one, because I
like Trevor Lawrence, and I was looking at the TUA
comp because you I don't think you can argue that
Tua has had a better start to his career than
Trevor Lawrence has. Now he's got you can look at
(24:48):
the numbers, like, but when I say that, I also
acknowledge he's also got a better situation. And so Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
He definitely has had a better situation.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
And so that's what you know, when I look at
I go, you know, at those situations. Jacksonville and Miami
are different spots. But my one hesitation with Trevor Lawrence
is what the hell happened this past year because everybody
assumed after winning the playoff game and what they did
in year one with Doug Peterson, that they were going
(25:19):
to make a jump, and then this past year it
was a total disappointment. Like That's that's my only hesitation
on the Trevor Lawrence stuff. Like I think ultimately, as
far as skill set and what the future looks like
for him, I think he's a better quarterback than toua.
But you look at it and I go to it
feels like he's getting better and Trevor Lawrence took a
(25:40):
step back this year, and I'm just not sure how
I'm supposed to view that, or if you're Jacksonville, you
just say, listen, we've already identified that he's going to
be our guy, and come hell or high water, we're gonna,
you know, surround him.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
That's whatever we get. I think that that's more more
the reasoning behind it what you just said, like they're
not looking at it from the if you're looking at
it from a comps perspective, who are you bringing in
to Jacksonville that's going to be comparable to what you
have in Trevor Lawrence right now? So you really have
(26:15):
no choice but to invest in Trevor Lawrence in that manner,
in that regard, because you're not going to replace what
you have in Trevor Lawrence any other way. I mean,
if you had the number one pick overall pick this year,
and let's let's play that out, do you do what
(26:38):
you did to Justin Fields to Trevor Lawrence jack If
Jacksonville had the opportunity to get Caleb Williams with the
number one overall draft pick. Do you think they get
rid of Trevor Lawrence. I think they would, I would
say no, I.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Think they would just to start the clock over again.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
But see, I don't I don't think that it would
be to Jacksonville. I don't. I don't think that it
would be beneficial for them to get rid of a
Trevor Lawrence. I don't think he's as for some strange reason.
I think it was more of what how Chicago? How? How?
How Justin Fields? Is? His his reputation played out. It
(27:23):
was like he was maligned. It was like he wasn't
even you know, he wasn't beloved people People really really
like Trevor Lawrence, like love Trevor Lawrence. There's something to
be said about the the emotional value connected to the
fan base of the player at that position. I don't
(27:46):
know that. I don't think that they would have taken
Caleb Williams if it was Trevor Lawrence. And then now
that becomes the question you think, so huh oh.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
No, I just think that they would if if they
had an opportunity to start the claw over, and I
think that they.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
Would, dang that's crazy. But well, well then the see
to me, then that says that you're making an investment
that you know isn't necessarily going to work out for you,
Like you've already decided it's not going to work out
for you, but we're going to pay him. Like if
(28:24):
we could have got out of the way of paying
Trevor Lawrence and brought in a new quarterback to start
it over, then that means you don't believe in Trevor
Lawrence to build your your fragise.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
Well, I also wonder if it's that it speaks volumes
about what the projection is for Caleb Williams, because if
this was you know, a Jaden Daniels or a JJ McCarthy,
I don't think they do it. But you know, like
when we talked to Albert Breer a couple of weeks
ago and we were like, hey, so like the Bears
were the only team that got the guy they wanted
at quarterback in the draft, right, and he said, yeah,
(28:57):
everybody had Kleb Williams number one, Like, you know, JJ
McCarthy was like fourth on the on the Vikings quarterback list.
I wonder if the difference between Caleb Williams and all
these other quarterbacks. Is why you would even consider making
the move now, Like, like I said, I like Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
That's crazy to think that you would get rid of
Trevor Lawrence over Caleb Williams. I just I think that
they know well.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
But it's an opportunity to start the clock over again
and not have to worry about paying him the big
contract for a few years. In a division, It's.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
True, you don't have to pay a big contract, but man,
what that rickson are you trying to go in? You're
just starting all the way all over. I mean, we're
gonna start over with Caleb and you know we ain't
got to pay him for for three, three four more years. Yeah,
i'd really be three years probably.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
I think they would do it. And look, I like
I think Trevor Lawrence. I think it's gonna work out.
I think he's gonna like he'll be better this year.
I think jacksonvill will be better this year. I just
think past season there should at least be a little
hesitation with all right before we just annoying him as
the next guy. And he's gonna get the contract regardless.
(30:10):
So it's all a moot point before we just annoyed
him as the next breakthrough quarterback star. You look at
it and go, yeah, I don't know, man, Like, are
you more optimistic about Jordan Love's future or Trevor Lawrence
is right now? Like I would say Jordan Love.
Speaker 10 (30:24):
Ooh, you know it's it's it's a hard one because
if you would have said the year before, like you
said when he had that major comeback against Tennessee, you
you wouldn't have You wouldn't have said that the year
before one was sitting on the bench while the other
one was fighting to get his team to the next
round in the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
It could change. Like the point I'm making is things
can change from year to year. So we could be
saying that right now, like, oh, I'm more into Jordan Love.
But what if Trevor Lawrence comes out and has a
bang up year. You know, everybody's on on Cincy. What
if we've seen the best of Joe Burrow. Everybody's talking
(31:05):
about he's probably the best in the league, Da da
dav he doesn't get hurt this, that and the other day.
What if we've seen the best of Joe Burrow? What
if we've seen the best of Josh Allen. What if
we've seen the best of Lamar Jackson, you know what
I mean. So it's kind of like it's it's like
it's a year to year thing. You don't, I don't.
(31:26):
I don't think there's any quarterback in the league right now,
not one that I can Patrick Mahomes, That's about it.
That's the one where I can say I know what
I'm getting. Name me one other quarterback in the league
where you can say, I know what I'm getting. I
know they're going to have this type of a year.
(31:47):
They're going to ball out, They're going to have them
in in contention to go to a super Bowl. Name
another quarterback that you would say that about in the
National Football League other than Patrick Mahoons.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
Now, there's a lot of question marks. He's by far
and away the best QB.
Speaker 4 (32:01):
In the league. So you got to pay anything less
than that, you gotta pay them, right, I mean, that's
just if I got one that's in the conversation of
being a legitimate franchise quarterback, whether that means franchise quarterback
to go win it all or just franchise quarterback, I
can say he's a franchise quarterback. You gotta pay him, Yeah,
(32:23):
because there's only one that you could actually sit there
and say, this one is the one that you pay
because you know exactly what you're going to get from
that guy. It's only one. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (32:33):

Speaker 4 (33:43):
Who's got anything?
Speaker 3 (33:45):
I mean, it's the typical, you know, take my son out,
go have a good time, went to a place called
golf and stuff up in Ventura. It's not an IR well,
it's an IR from the sense that he didn't want
to leave, and so it became I mean it looked
like the you sick fury fight. I mean, he just
(34:06):
beat the hell out of me, not wanting to leave,
like he had so much fun and it's a good
time to be had by all. But it was one
of those I'm having such a good time. The term
we're closing soon, you have to go doesn't apply to Yeah,
he didn't want any part of that. So that was
not that did that didn't end well, but it was
a good time to be had, by the way, were
(34:27):
you and Lee supposed to get together to go to
top golf, top golf.
Speaker 4 (34:31):
Man, Why do you know you hit me up?
Speaker 5 (34:33):
Lee, That's my fault. Weekend got away from me. Got
some good gold.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
Ribs yesterday, ribs nice. I cooked him in a while.
I cooked ribs yesterday, smoked them. It was definitely a
lot of smoke yesterday of the ribs. Yeah. But Friday,
Friday got got really you know, really really nice after
after the daughter's graduation, you know, Marley as she she's
(35:00):
going to tell you so she's officially in high school grad now,
and uh yeah, I took advantage of that opportunity. We
went to uh Mama Sitas or something like that. Poor
poor what's it called? Said out loud.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (35:20):

Bared Bordias. Anyways, they got really really good drinks there.

Speaker 4 (35:37):
Damn. There you go, that's it. They got to move
in tequila bar man, this dope dude that makes you
these tequila drinks that are freaking amazing. I was, I was,
I was in the parking lot. Put it. Put it
that way. I was not driving, Bro. I was yeah,
it was good.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
How many did you knock back?
Speaker 4 (35:57):
I think about I think I had three. You had
the big drinks. But they, you know, they bring a
lot of shots, a lot of shots
