the hell we feeling about our Minnesota Timberwolves following last
night's game, Hey, it.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
Was a hell of a game. Say what you want
about the result. But man, I'm.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Telling you this gonna be a great series. This one
of the Eastern Conference Finals. It's some good basketball. It's
fun to watch. But yeah, var I don't know.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
I feel like the Timberwolves have kind of let the
one slip away a little bit.

Speaker 6 (02:52):
They Okay, so this is one of those games where
you see the greatness which they needed. You see the
greatness and Kyrie and and and uh Jokic. How you
said the joke? I guess between Dante. Yeah, thank you, jeez. Listen.

(03:18):
I feel like we saw their greatness play out last night.
I mean you you had to see them somewhat play
out of their minds to to be able to to
pull the game out, and watching it, I said this
was this Minnesota team is going to go as as

(03:40):
as their bigs go, Like, we know what what ant
Man can do, we know what what he can do.
But what you're going to need from from Minnesota in
this series is basically, you're going to need your big
men to play big. So you're going to need Anthony Towns,
You're going to you're going to need.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
Go Bear.

Speaker 6 (04:04):
You're going to need those guys to to really play
big and.

Speaker 7 (04:10):
They didn't.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
They didn't.

Speaker 7 (04:12):
They did not. They did not come up big.

Speaker 6 (04:15):
Too many, too many easy points, too many, too many
easy points.

Speaker 7 (04:20):
From other guys.

Speaker 6 (04:22):
You know, outside of outside of Luca and outside of
Kyrie Irving, You're gonna have a hard enough time trying
to win this series guarding Kyrie and and Luca.

Speaker 7 (04:33):
You gotta guard the paint. I think we had this conversation.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
I said, had.

Speaker 7 (04:39):
You gotta guard the paint.

Speaker 6 (04:40):
If you don't guard the paint, it's going it is
going to it's going to hurt you.

Speaker 7 (04:46):
You know what's crazy is.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
If you don't guard the paint, you ain't. That's what
he told me, his words exactly.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
I don't know what the hell that means, but I
will say this. I differ a little bit in the
sense of, you know that saying the stars are big
and bright down in Texas. Yeah, I thought the stars,
Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic stepped up when they needed
to the most.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
That's what I thought. The difference was.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
It isn't like a shot at Anthony Edwards or anyone,
but you know, it's Game one, Western Conference Finals, New
territory for him. But those two when they needed to
in particular in the fourth quarter, like it just they
stepped up, they made shots, they made plays when they
needed to. I thought that was the difference, like the
star power of Luca and Kyrie. And if you go

(05:32):
back to when Kyrie first got there, how many naysayers
were there that this wasn't gonna work. You know, this
this tandem, this duo, they weren't gonna be able to
play together because their style of play.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
I would argue, it's kind of worked out pretty damn well.

Speaker 7 (05:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
And Kyrie irving the order he's gotten in his game.
I love watching him. He is a masterful score, obviously
extremely talented.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
A ball of a ball handler, but older.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
He's gotten in his game, the more I just I
look at him as I think he's underrated as one
of like the all time great scores.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
I was just gonna say that because we talk about
all these great players, and yet everybody to a man says,
that's one of the most skilled players that's ever played
like and he almost does it. He almost doesn't get
to showcase it.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Sometimes he wants buckets, he gets buckets.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Man's unbelievable, it really is.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
He's so talented, and Luca gets a lot of the
attention to it, and rightfully so as well. But this combination,
and I think it's interesting too, because it's a different combination.

Speaker 5 (06:35):
Than what you're accustomed to seeing in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Like usually it's spread across, we've got a big three,
we've got some sort of duo, but it always involves
a big man.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
In this case, it's not the that's not the case.
It's very different.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Maybe it's more of an example of where the NBA
is at this time with guard playing, but.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
It's so different pass well.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
It's also like the ball control as well, right like
Kobe and Shack or going back to the Big three
starting in Boston with Brown and Paul Pierce and Kevinc Garnett,
and then you go to Miami and then you go
to all these different places that have had some combination
of a big three. I guess the group out of
OKAC when you include Harden and Westbrook and Durant four,

(07:18):
I mean, that would have been kind of the difference there.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
But they had Obaka too, though they had they had
a big four. I guess I just they throw the
ball though they the league is passing the ball extra
It's like shoot the ball when you get that close
to the rim, Like, I don't understand this extra. It's
like an extra like it used to be the past. Okay,

(07:42):
you go kick it out, boom you shoot it. Or
if you go to the rack, go to the rack,
go to the rack. Like guys are deferring on taking
shots at the rim and they're kicking it out.

Speaker 7 (07:55):
It's kind of it's it's kind of weird the way
the league is.

Speaker 6 (07:58):
But to the point of Luca and Kyrie, they combined
for sixty three points between the two of them, sixty
three points, and they only needed help from PJ. Washington,
Like that was it. They're gonna need more help from
from other guys. I mean Stafford.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Now, I was just gonna say stan Van Gundy made
the point last night. He couldn't believe that Dallas had
a one point lead late in that game and they
had made four threes, like they were awful from three,
Like the only reason Minnesota was even in that game.

Speaker 6 (08:30):
They didn't have very much help. Yeah, they didn't have
very much help. But with that being said, if you
got Rudy Gobert and Carl Anthony Towns, go bear at
twelve points. Town's at sixteen points and they're not handling
their business on the defensive side of the court. It's
not going to work out. It is not going to

(08:52):
work out, and that's the bottom line. Anthony had an
off night. He didn't have as Q mentioned, they didn't
have a whole lot of points. He didn't generate a
whole lot of points. He didn't even break twenty. You're
going to have to get your stars playing like stars.
I think is the point of this game is you
can't have Jay McDaniels beating your league leading score. When

(09:14):
you got Rudy Gobert, you got Karl Anthony Towns, and
you got Anthony Edwards. They got to show up. They
got to do more. And I think that's what it
comes down to. Run of applause for Jay mctangel's. He's
he's stepped up, like he's one.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Guy who, like I don't know that anyone's kind of
thought about him or like kind of said, like, hey,
we need this guy to like.

Speaker 5 (09:32):
Step up some big moments.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
He's been one of the more consistent players about the
playoffs for the Tea Wolves.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Now, Kyrie, as we talked about, had a little motivation
because you remember Anthony edwards afterwards talked about, you know,
wanting wanting to cuff him up, face up with Kyrie
and the next round of the playoffs, and he spoke
Kyrie did with the guys on TNT about that matchup.

Speaker 7 (09:52):
You at home, mane of your business the other night,
what about it?

Speaker 6 (09:56):
You put your beautiful founder just chilling, probably having a
nice meal.

Speaker 5 (09:59):
And then the young fella.

Speaker 8 (10:00):
Says, I got Kyrie, and you said excuse me, and
he said it again, he said, I got Kyrie.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
That's the most aggressive.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
You being in a long time.

Speaker 9 (10:12):
Sir.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
I know that had to irk you a little bit.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Yeah, use it as a motivation.

Speaker 9 (10:19):
When I was sitting at home and I and I
saw it, I was like, it's just a nod of respect.
And then also I knew what type of game was
gonna be. Pick game one and also for the rest
of the series.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
So you're right.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
I was at home with my family watching Game seven.

Speaker 9 (10:30):
You just comes out and says, I got Kyrie. But
but also that's that's a no fear of mentality and
that's why we love him. So coming out tonight, I
knew that he was gonna pressure me a little bit,
but I knew that they were coming off of Game seven,
grueling game, so their legs were biting them a little
bit tonight. So hopefully game two they come back and
you know, they said them a little bit more, but
we'll be prepared.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Matt's also the other thing, Minnesota looked.

Speaker 7 (10:52):
They were coming off the game, so they were coming
off of seven.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Anthony Edwards aghast and that's why I look at it
and they go, I'm mean agreement. I think it's going
to be a long series, and I think Minnesota bounces
back and wins game two.

Speaker 7 (11:04):
Do you really Oh yeah, well, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Done but done, deal book it.

Speaker 7 (11:08):
It should be a better game to Dallas.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
No game game two for this game, for this series,
I think they're gonna come.

Speaker 6 (11:16):
Back and Minnesota, the Wolves have proved they're road warriors,
all right, so they'll go on the road and they'll
take one in Dallas.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
I'm not worried. I still think Minnesota has got a
great shot. And for our fans listening on.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
The sucking up, that's not true.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
I'm sucking up to our fans listening on the Yallo
horn in the Twin Cities, callohorn. That's right, our friends,
you got you got a friend in me.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
Too cool yesterday?

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Who's that LeVar called them?

Speaker 3 (11:45):
Call them shappy, so shappy to give you a job?

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Why is he got like an extra red ass the
past couple of weeks. You notice that he's really got
lebron fatigue. So Bronz JJ redick stuff is really Warren
Petros out.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Yeah, well, I think we're wearing him out by talking
about it more. By the way, it's the first thing
he talks about has to think about what he wakes up,
which can't be fun.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Yeah, no, not ideal, But you know, there was a
you know, it did look like Minnesota was a little
bit worn out in that game. Dallas give him credit,
took advantage, but you know, expect this game to go
six or seven and Minnesota comes back and wins Game
two easy, And I'm not I think it's not only possible,
I think it's guaranteed. Oh wow, they guaranteed it guaranteed.

(12:37):
Oh wow, Yeah, Minnesota's going to win Game two. Five
point favorite I'm seeing early on from DraftKings for Game
two are the Minnesota Timberwolves. So for those of you
interested in wanting to bet on Minnesota win the series,
you go to DraftKings right now. You can get him
at plus one forty to win the series, you know,
a nice little return for you. So just trying to
hand out some some winners here on this show. So

(13:01):
there's that two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox

We've also got an award to hand out an hour
two and Albert Breer's gonna stop by, and you never
know what you're gonna get with Albert Breer. It's either

(13:22):
going to be poor phone reception, a dog barking in
the background, or some sort of an issue and a
dust up between the wife and the kids. There's always
something that happens when Albert Breer stops by. So look
forward to phone issue. Yeah, phone issue, Yeah, that's the
go to like that. You can count on that every
single time for maybe. But point is, we're gonna be here,

(13:44):
hopefully you'll be here as we take you all the
way up until nine am Eastern time, six o'clock Pacific

over to a completely different sport. We'll explain why that
is again coming up here a little over twenty minutes

(15:15):
from now, just post malone. It is avid beer pong
player you know that loves playing beer.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
He's turning into like a pretty interesting country singer.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Yeah, it's talented, dude. Yah Is loves loves playing beer pong,
loves Dallas Cowboys. So uh Lee, can we get him
on the show. This feels like a show that he
could be a part of. I mean, that would be fun.
That wouldn't be supressed.

Speaker 11 (15:40):
He listens every day, I would he's probably I know
he's a gamer. He's probably up late game and listen
to two pros.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
Who needs cool?

Speaker 5 (15:48):
If you like delivered a pizza or something to him
at some point.

Speaker 6 (15:52):
No, I have nuts he stopped by to pick anybody
up or something.

Speaker 11 (15:57):
Yeah, no, uh no, I don't know what the degree
of separation is between me and a Post.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
I'll check it out.

Speaker 5 (16:04):
Though, probably far.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Can't be too far. Probably two. Lorene, are you post
Malone fan? I love post Yeah. I could tell.

Speaker 9 (16:12):
You one of the guys I used to date, he
could just play beer pong with him?

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Oh really?

Speaker 10 (16:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Wow? Yes? What My circle is pretty close that you see.

Speaker 7 (16:22):
One of the guys you used to date plays beer
pong with him? Where they take place?

Speaker 9 (16:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:26):
So he's a DJ for Tyler? Yahweh? What? Yeah, it's
it's yeah. Is that a restaurant?

Speaker 5 (16:34):
Is it?

Speaker 7 (16:35):
No?

Speaker 1 (16:36):
What's the Tyler?

Speaker 5 (16:37):
What?

Speaker 6 (16:37):
Tyler?

Speaker 11 (16:38):
Yahweh?

Speaker 5 (16:39):
What is that?

Speaker 11 (16:40):
I met him at a Saint John concert anyways, Yeah,
it was great.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
So so you guys, so you've got an in basically
with post Malone. Yes, I feel like I could get
in smelling distance of him.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
That's creepy, Dan.

Speaker 7 (16:53):
Would you smell him and smelling distance?

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Yes, I bet he smells like beer and cigarettes.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Dang went from like being creepy and weird and now
it's just like that's rude a nice cologne?

Speaker 5 (17:09):
How do you know he's not wearing a nice cologne
or something?

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Kid?

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Post cologne?

Speaker 5 (17:14):
You just call them. You should judge a book by Lee.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Just called him, just called him post cologne. Oh no,
what's wrong with you? He should get a cologne post Colone. Yeah,
but the problem is you just call it posts. The
name is great. How about the smell? Like, what do
we think as far as the smell goes, cigarettes, bud Light,
Marlboroughs and just rock with that.

Speaker 7 (17:39):
And alcohol, you know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (17:41):
He's got to have like that skin skin brazier or
you know, like the whole razor bumps deal on it, like,
you know, tough skin.

Speaker 7 (17:50):
It's got to have that tough skin smell to it.
Tense skin.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Yeah, yeah, Tokin does have an interesting smell to it,
doesn't it.

Speaker 5 (17:58):
Yeah, now that you say that, I kind of miss it.

Speaker 7 (18:00):
Yeah did you put that? You put that with some smoke.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
I need to put some tough skin onto some yardwork
or something, you know.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Yeah, Oh nice, what you're talking about? What you loocause?
I don't have a yard No?

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Have you ever put on was the last time you put.

Speaker 5 (18:17):
On tough skin?

Speaker 1 (18:17):
I was born with tough skinka and you know that
growing up in the hair.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
No, I don't because you put lotion on your hands,
which thank god, we've been able to avoid up to
this point since Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
All Right, listen, you keep knocking on the cage and
you want to, you want to, you want to mess
with the animal. Yeah, it's me personified, That's what it is.
So it's the spray.

Speaker 7 (18:39):
You put on.

Speaker 6 (18:40):
It's the spray you put on before you put tape,
like get your stuff taped up.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Yeah, I mean if you need that, but I don't
need that. Like I'll go do a crocodile mile on
astro turf with no water. That's what I'll do. All right, whatever, listen,
you guys can you guys can say what you want
about tough skin, but apparently you're going to need some
tough skin if you want to play in the NFL
moving forward.

Speaker 6 (19:03):
You want to know why we were talking about smell,
but why we could use prominently in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Well, okay, Well it's going to be used a lot more,
especially if they go to eighteen games.

Speaker 7 (19:12):
It working on it, aren't they?

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Yeah, because it feels like that's on the horizon now.
Roger Goodell did talk yesterday about the potential and sort
of what they're thinking as far as the pushback and
sort of the things they need to get by in
order to implement this eighteen game season. Let's take a listen.

Speaker 12 (19:29):
The key thing for us is looking at making sure
we continue to do the things to make our game safer.
So we want to make sure that that hits the
first boundary. The seventeen games is a long season, so
we want to make sure we look at that and
make sure that we continue the safety efforts. You've seen
a lot of the outcomes of that. Kickoffs are a

(19:49):
good example of the hip drop. So we're going to
continue to do that. That's number one. Working with our
players associations number two. You know we would reach and
agreement with them if we're going to receive on that level.
But we also third, this is not necessarily in.

Speaker 5 (20:05):
Order is the quality of our game.

Speaker 12 (20:08):
You know, we would do it in the context of
reducing the number of preseason games. We think that's a
good trade, less preseason games and more regular season games.
I think most anybody who would think was beneficial. But again,
most other two factors are really important.

Speaker 5 (20:22):
Beneficial to their wallets. I mean, that's the truth.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
If you think about preseason games, who is the most
beneficial for It's most beneficial for the poorest of the
NFL players. It's the young players, the rookies coming into
the league because they haven't gotten up to that game
speed in a real live game scenario in the NFL.
And then it's the back end of the roster guys
who are trying to make a roster because for the

(20:50):
most part, you know, the for the bigger name guys,
guys who are paid they're gonna make it, they're not
even playing. So it's really for the younger guys, that
back end of the roster, guys proven to you that
they can play. And that's unfortunately in the NFL, the
the lower income players of the NFL. So of course
Roger Goodell, who represents the owners, is going to say, yeah,

(21:12):
it's not you know, it's not really beneficial to anyone.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
Well, it is beneficial.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
It's beneficial players, it's beneficial to coaches to some degree.

Speaker 5 (21:20):
You know.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
The other thing we don't ever talk about is when
you talk about like lack of development, we don't talk
about the lack.

Speaker 5 (21:24):
Of development with coaching staffs.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Preseason games oftentimes now are given, you know, position callers,
oftentimes minority coaches that are on the staff an opportunity
to call plays because once the real games come, that's
not happening as much. But you might have an opportunity to, hey, hey,
you're calling the defense, you're calling the offense for this
this preseason game. Head coaches do that oftentimes to get
some of their assistants some real live reps, which is

(21:50):
a great thing for young coaches in the league. I
hate the fact that since Roger Goodell has taken over,
and I'm sure people are gonna take shots of me
for saying, well, it's aboosts that that's you know, they
should be concerned about raising revenue, you know, creating, putting
more money and lining the pockets.

Speaker 5 (22:05):
Of the owners.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
You are losing your product, like you're losing a piece
of this and your desire to try to make as
much money as humanly possible for these owners. You're going
to lose the quality of the game, the quality of
the product in many different ways. And so I get
concerned about that, and I just hope Lloyd Howell Junior

(22:28):
now has taken over, as was recently elected as the
executive director for the NFLPA. Get lifetime health care like
that would be the biggest stamp ever for an executive
director in my opinion, for the NFLPA, if they were
able to get lifetime health care actively.

Speaker 5 (22:49):
That's that's part of it.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Yeah, that's part of it because obviously the players who
are you know, currently you know, playing in the NFL,
they'll receive it. Guys five years out, they can receive it.
But they that comes in and saying that it's going
to be for the older generations, the older players. Typically,
most collective bardiing agreements have put in some you know,
protective measures for older players past generations.

Speaker 5 (23:11):
And so I'm not just saying this for myself.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
I'm standing it for guys who are way older than
I am that need it right now badly and there's resources.
But just do it, like that's the one thing that
you can make these owners agree to, say lifetime healthcare.
That's a win win for everyone, and then let's move forward.
That's the one big ticket item they need to push
for every player should be four there's there shouldn't even

(23:35):
be a debate on that. It should just be lifetime
healthcare and figure it out, whether that's for you know,
a credited you know players, you know, five seasons, three,
whatever it is. They'll come up with that number. But
they need to figure that out more than anything else.

Speaker 6 (23:50):
Yeah, I just think it's it's it's almost like an
oxymorn to say we want to make the game safer,
but then make the season long. I just I don't
feel like, how does that? How does that make sense?
How does that? How do you make that make sense?
Other than to say what he said, like the hip

(24:11):
drop and the kickoff rule and all that stuff, you're
altering a game, and and and and I would say this,
you're banking on the fact that the new added way
of going about football is is is better than the
traditional style and the traditional way of playing the game.

(24:35):
And and Roger Goodell has bet on hisself. And I
mean and he has he has been on I mean,
it's not like he hasn't been a successful commissioner. He
has grown the numbers, he's grown the game, the reach
of it. It's it's seemingly working. But I just wonder
at what point do you start to look at a
product and say it's watered down. I mean, I I

(24:58):
just I think they're dangerously close to hitting a space
where you might actually look at a game that you
truly love in a league that has become America's pastime,
and look at it and say, this is this is
pretty watered now. You know that's my concern as I

(25:22):
look at it.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Do you guys have faith though, that the NFLPA is
going to push for lifetime healthcare, that they're going to
think about the quality of the player as opposed to
the quality of the dollar. And how do you have
confidence in that? Because I look at it from the
outside and I go, look, it could get watered down,
and lifetime healthcare is a great idea, I'm skeptical that

(25:46):
any of that is even factored in. And ultimately, we're
going to get to an eighteen game regular season within
the next two years, and what's going to happen is
the NFLPA is going to cave agree to something that
they're going to regret to or three years in promise
it's going to be different the next time around, and
a way we go with the discussion, that's just going
to keep going moving forward. It just feels like that's

(26:07):
where this always ends up.

Speaker 5 (26:09):
I'm hoping it doesn't.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
I'm hoping we've got I won a new leader and
executive director, Lloyd how Junior, and I'm hoping there's enough
strength amongst.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
Players or they should push for this.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
But this is also something that you know, if you
look at how players tend to be able to get
things done in the CBA or even when there's negotiations
like that that you know take place in between the
CBA negotiations, oftentimes like there's a campaign, there's a coordated
effort and a campaign to kind of get this thing done, and.

Speaker 5 (26:40):
There hasn't been any. So that's the.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
Hard part about you know, my hope for what I
think would be the best thing moving forward for every player,
and it should be a no brainer in what is
the most dangerous sport of any of the professional sports
is push for it and get it. I mean, there's
other leagues that have other benefits to what they have,
and for whatever reason, the NFL has never set this

(27:04):
as a precedent. I should say, the NFLPA has never
made you know, this a precedent or you know, their
key initiatives of the collective Barring Agreement. And I understand
there's a lot of things that go into that, but
this still needs to be that one big ticket item
and take away. The owners come to the table with
usually one to three things that are big ticket things

(27:25):
they look for.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
In this case, we know what they want. They want
at games.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
Okay, you want eighteen games, give us lifetime healthcare, and
then here are the conditions in terms of which we're saying,
you know, guys who are vested, guys who've played in
the league, whether it's three, five years, whatever you do,
there's always that point and the owners will probably dictate
that because they know the average career span for most
players is under three years, so they set it at
a mark where it's going to take out if you

(27:48):
do the bell curve about half of the players who
make it in the NFL but never become vested. And
then that way that you know they can have an
idea of what that number looks like in the future.
Is healthcare costs continue to go up, So that's what
it's about. But that's the one thing I know. I
keep harping on this, but it's needed a big time,
especially for past generations of players.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Well, hopefully we'll get some more answers from Albert Breer,
maybe he's got an optimistic outlook on how this whole
thing turns out. But it is two Pros and a
Cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. By the way,
quick update here on Tough Skin. You can get a
can on Amazon for nine to ninety nine.

Speaker 5 (28:27):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
Now, you guys probably never had to pay for it
because it was just in the training room at your disposal.
But if you're interested, I'll go in half on that.
So I'll give you five bucks if you guys want
a can of Tough Skin. Wow, and then you can
split the other five. Just say looking out for everybody

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Sometimes you can't get to everything in the world of
sports or entertainment. Good thing, the guys are here to
bring you in case you missed For.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
That, we turned it over to our executive producer, Lee
did Lap Lab.

Speaker 11 (30:11):
Morning everybody, Good morning, Jonas, Good morning, LeVar, Good morning, Brady, Guys,
Good morning, Casey missed this x NC State star DJ Burns, Hey,
Brady has lost an insane amount of weight. Of course,
we all remember him from March Madness, the big Man
being rumored to be you know, checked out by a
bunch of NFL teams. Well, Sham Sharania of the Athletics

(30:32):
spoke with Burns this week, and the six foot nine
Ford told uh Sharania that he has lost forty five
pounds in less than two months. He was listed at
two seventy five. Now he says he's at about two thirty.
Attributes it to uh cardio workouts at five am, four
days a week.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
Told him no o zempic good man.

Speaker 5 (30:50):
Oh nice, unlike a lot of the quarterbacks in the NFL.
Yeah right.

Speaker 9 (30:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
By the way, Lamar Jackson is going to be one
hundred and four pounds by the time the season starts
if he continues down this path.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
But for him, though, man, that's awesome and he's going
for it. I feel like he's pushing off his offensive tackle.

Speaker 5 (31:10):
Career, you know, back a few years. But that's fine.
Follow the dream.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Do you think he might also look at this and think,
you know, Zion as far as talent wise, he can
get away with being a little bit heavier because of
what he can do on the floor, like a probably
more skilled player. But DJ Burns probably looks at that
and goes, man, I don't have that so much to
rely on, So why don't they just get in the
best shape possible, not take any chances, and just be

(31:36):
ready to go.

Speaker 6 (31:36):
I wonder if it impacts his game though, Like, is
it more being heavier even though it's it's lesser in
terms of certain other things that you're.

Speaker 7 (31:49):
Able to do.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
No, I see what you're doing. You did what I mean,
Like like like when Jonah Hill lost weight, he became
less funny? Is that what you're saying?

Speaker 5 (31:58):
It could be?

Speaker 6 (31:59):
I mean, if that's how you want to look at it,
it's not a horrible example.

Speaker 5 (32:05):
It's a great point.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
I mean if you look at his dominance, I mean
it was based on his physical dominance and ability to
get to the rack.

Speaker 5 (32:11):
And you know his massive size plaid role in that.

Speaker 7 (32:15):
Yeah, if he's smaller, that might not be.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
It's gonna be as lovable too. Like I think about
figures like Chris Farley, God rest his soul. Yeah, you
know if he was I mean, David Spade wasn't as
beloved as Chris Farley was.

Speaker 5 (32:26):
You know, I mean, you can't be a.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
Fat guy and a little girl if you're like a big.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
Guy, right, I mean, I just you know, yeah, it's
a fair.

Speaker 7 (32:36):
It may or may not work.

Speaker 6 (32:39):
But if you're like super good looking and you're built
well and all that stuff, you had better be really
really funny and you had better have a good entry
to to how you're being funny.

Speaker 7 (32:51):
Otherwise it's not going to work. It's not going to work.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
I mean, I do like that. He went no zempic,
just old school, probably fasted cardio five in the morning
and just burning the weight off, you know, Like I'm
telling you, LeVar Arrington started to tread Lebar tried to
perpetuate this myth that he was quote unquote obese.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
I was showed you it's not. Oh my god, that
was bro that's obese. All right?

Speaker 6 (33:16):
Hell yeah, thank you.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
But everybody's jumping beast, you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (33:23):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Hell yeah?

Speaker 5 (33:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (33:27):
Man?

Speaker 5 (33:29):
What else?

Speaker 11 (33:30):
Well, guys, a lot of people have been hating on
Caitlin Clark lately. We talked about it in The Good,
the Bad, the Ugly yesterday. Well, Lebron James and Charles
Barkley have sent messages to all those haters out there.
Lebron was on his podcast, you know the one Mind
the Game with JJ Reddick to Mind the Game podcast.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
Well, he was talking about this, take a listen.

Speaker 8 (33:48):
One thing that I love that she's bringing to her sport.
More people want to watch, more people want to tune in.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
Don't get it twisted, don't get it done.

Speaker 8 (33:59):
Taylan Clark is the reason why a lot of great
things is gonna happen for the WNBA, But for her individually,
I don't think she should get involved on nothing that's
being said.

Speaker 5 (34:08):
Just go have fun, enjoy, you know.

Speaker 8 (34:11):
But I'm rude for Caitlin because I've been in that
seat before, I've walked that road before. I hope they
I hope she kills I Hopefullyah Boston does amazing, you know,
I hope they do great.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
Yeah, just a thank you would work from all the
other people out there that are complaining about her presence
and rooting bird of fail.

Speaker 6 (34:31):
Did you see that there was I forget their names
off the top of my head, but they were talking
about if the WNBA was smart, let Caitlyn Clark ball, like,
don't go out there trying to beat her down and
beat her to death and prove your point off of her,
because you know what, the moment, people lose interest and

(34:54):
if they think Caitlyn Clark can be good in the WNBA,
they're going to lose interest in watching the game, and
that's no good for anybody. They're going to go right
back down to being the obscure, non paid attention to
league that is subsidized, subsidized by the NBA.

Speaker 7 (35:12):
And you have no golden egg.

Speaker 5 (35:17):
You got a golden egg right.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Now, take advantage of it.

Speaker 7 (35:20):
Take advantage Like, why would you not take advantage of that?

Speaker 3 (35:23):
Well, and look, the NBA makes a ton of money,
and fifteen million isn't a ton, but that's what the
NBA provides the WNBA with with an annual endowment every
single year. And so I'm sure as an NBA player,
not that Lebron's thinking about this, but most of them
would be like, if you're a part of their union, Hey,

(35:43):
we'd love for the viewership to continue to rise. We'd
love for their TV deal to be healthy enough to
be able to actually have a TV deal that helps
cover the operating costs for the WNBA teams and facilities
and travel, marketing and administration all that stuff, because that's
what the fifteen million the NBA gives the WNBA.

Speaker 5 (36:02):
Goes to every year.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
So yeah, I'm sure NBA players want that for the WNBA,
so they can, you know, stop helping to kind of.

Speaker 5 (36:09):
Provide and put a bit of the bill.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
But either way, I love the advice, just like don't
listen to it. I've always been a big proponent of that.
I mean, there was an error where you didn't have
all of this stuff out there. People would say, don't
read your press clippings. But what's the point of reading,
you know, some of the comments, some of the the
you know, remarks that people make out there for an athlete,

(36:31):
like put the blinders on, just keep moving forward even
though they are what O and four oh and five
now and just lost the last.

Speaker 6 (36:36):
Night to see how even as radio hosts, right, I mean,
people just they high behind no pictures on their on
their social they type weird ass and they think that
it's cool. Man, Like, it's the weirdest thing to me.
How people in their minds think that this is something

(36:57):
that is.

Speaker 7 (36:57):
Good for me to do on a daily basis.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
I gotta be honest, I'm so distracted. I read an
article this morning about how the I R. S doesn't
have enough money to basically write its own checks. I
was like, Oh, that's that's interesting, that's good news.

Speaker 5 (37:10):
That's great. Yeah.

Speaker 12 (37:12):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
The sixty billion they received back of twenty twenty two
wasn't enough to figure it out.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
Another one hundred and four billion, No big deal.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
I wonder where that's coming from. Yea, who's gonna have
to wear it about.

Speaker 5 (37:22):
The irs can't pay to write their own checks. They're
asking for more money.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
They're gonna suck. They're gonna start what They're gonna start
auditing homeless people.

Speaker 6 (37:31):
Seriously, you guys aren't paying your taxes, You're not paying
your bills.

Speaker 5 (37:35):
Excuse me, excuse me? There for free?

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Do you pay for that shopping card?

Speaker 5 (37:41):
Lee?

Speaker 1 (37:41):
What else we got guys?

Speaker 11 (37:43):
The Justice Department is ready to sue Live Nation and
Ticketmaster for what they contend is an illegal monopoly that
is far too much influence over the concert industry. This
according to The New York Times. Uh yeah, they're you
gonna hoo uh the Justice Department, federal government.

Speaker 7 (37:58):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (37:58):
Yeah interesting.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
I think Pearl Jam was one of the first bands
who was like trying to get around having to use
ticket Master because of the fees involved, Like the fees
and it's ridicted, Like when you look up tickets on Ticketmaster,
you have to include with fees because it changes the
entire price of the package.

Speaker 4 (38:18):
Yeah, it's ridiculous, But do better Ticketmaster, Yeah,
