Speaker 7 (01:23):
Never heard somebody say, so, what's such excitement about a
thought that's real?

Speaker 8 (01:30):
And he was he was stuttered. He's so excited about
that phone?

Speaker 6 (01:33):
Hey, what's stuttering it out?

Speaker 8 (01:36):
I can't even get it out? You got the oscarmb.

Speaker 9 (01:40):
That man said, Babby, Maybe that ude's gonna get arrested

Speaker 8 (02:22):
Here's about banana hammock. It's just harder to make lyrics
to banana hammock?

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Right, great point, doesn't that banana nana hammock?

Speaker 8 (02:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Don't sounds good?

Speaker 8 (02:36):
Does sounds good? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:38):
That's good?

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Well listen, uh away we go here at our three
of this program hemic. If you're wondering our thoughts on
the NBA Finals, we rather talk about the thong.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
To mean it's over.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
It is what it is. I don't have to tell you.
It's a complete mismatch. And you know, no porzingis no problem.
Boston's up three to zero, Lucas crying about foul calls
and foulling out of the game. Jason kidd Is talking
about Luca having a bulls eye on him because he's
getting exposed on defense. It's just not, you know, not
going well for the Dallas Mavericks. But don't worry. It'll

(03:20):
be over soon and then we can focus on some
more fun stuff like the NFL offseason and everything that
comes along with it. Also a noteworthy day in Boston,
not just because of the Celtics, but Tom Brady's jersey
retirement by the New England Patriots. They didn't waste much
time to get that done. Robert Kraft talked about getting
a statue done for Tom Brady as well too. That's

(03:42):
gonna happen, so everybody was out there. Belichick's a real
statue man. Don't do the Washington thing. Don't you don't
want that? Yeah, do it real?

Speaker 6 (03:56):
Do it right?

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Did they fix the Sean Taylor statue or no?

Speaker 6 (04:00):
Never heard anything else about it? Man, and it's give him.

Speaker 8 (04:04):
One of those Christiano Ronaldo ones too, you know, round
up with the bulls.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Yeah, I don't even. Yeah, I'm looking at it.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Looks like a like the Sean Taylor statue looks like
one of those characters of Westworld?

Speaker 7 (04:18):
Is it still there? Like they left it up. It's
got to be the most ridiculous thing to do to do.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Who the hell looks at that and goes, yeah, that'll work.

Speaker 8 (04:28):
Little Danny just was trying to save some bucks on
the way out the door.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
I don't, like, you couldn't.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
It's like you commission like a real artist to go
in and make it app you know, a legit statue
of Sean Taylor.

Speaker 7 (04:39):
A larger than life statue, you know, a base where
you got to like, you know, you see.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Even if it was like actual size, it's just like
something's real, don't metal or something, you know, something nice.

Speaker 7 (04:51):
I mean they didn't even it's not even a mannequin. Yeah,
it's just like wire.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
It's it's probably recycled too, right, I mean they probably
pulled it for the environment too.

Speaker 8 (05:01):
It's like, yeah, you paid twenty bucks for it.

Speaker 6 (05:03):
It's like those cool closet or something.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
It's those cornball Christmas lawn decorations that are like the
wiry ones.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
It's like either either inflate it or go hard plastic
like back in the day, right candy asses that's disappointed?

Speaker 8 (05:17):
Live bet Jesus is going to show up.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I mean, we've got a live, live major sporting freedom
better and this guy, this.

Speaker 8 (05:24):
Loser, can't figure out a way of getting on our show.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
You know, you're the same guys, Like you're like Seafreed
and Roy who walk around eyes plural, Yeah.

Speaker 8 (05:34):
You and LaVar Tiger a Bengal tiger. Might I supposed
to Roy who walk around?

Speaker 6 (05:41):
Guys, I don't want to be the one that got Jack.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
But no, it's like you guys sit there, you mistreat
animals like you're you know, you're on and then all
of a sudden, all of a sudden, one guy's looking
around for his Adams Apple and he's got in his
mouth gargling it.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
And you're like that the situation because you wonder why.

Speaker 6 (06:00):
Wishing why you wishing that type of evil on this such.

Speaker 8 (06:02):
A bad example.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
I wonder why he doesn't show up. You guys treat
him like crap. You don't get to have everything you
want when you treat somebody.

Speaker 8 (06:12):
We've moved on.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
No one cares about your example of why live bet
Jesus is too scared to show up and pick another loser.

Speaker 8 (06:17):
Example, the course is playing ridiculously tough, by.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
The way, not really, I mean Tiger Woods is one
under bed Jesus.

Speaker 8 (06:26):
Just look at some of the other guys trying to
put right now Jesus, I don't know how he gets
away with it.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
Rules, rules, cue oh Man.

Speaker 11 (06:46):
Rules.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
All right, So you guys pick a card, any card.
You want to hear Tom already done that, all right?
Do you want to hear Tom Brady talk about Ryana
messed it up?

Speaker 6 (06:55):
All right?

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Do you want to hear Tom Brady talk about his
retirement or do you want to hear Rob Ryan talking about.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Max Crosby being Rob Ryan?

Speaker 6 (07:04):
All right?

Speaker 4 (07:05):
So let's listen to Rob Ryan, who's got great hair.
He looks like one of the captains of debt.

Speaker 8 (07:10):
It looks like Santa Claus.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Yeah he does.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
He used to do a show here at Fox Sports Radio,
and uh, there was a certain update anchor that really
really annoyed him.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Put it that way, I think I say it all
the air, but ye, I don't want to say it
over there.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
But the point is Rob Ryan was talking about the
Max Crosby greatness.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Let's take a listen.

Speaker 12 (07:36):
You know, when you talk about Max Cross where you're
talking about the best defensive player in the league, you know,
probably in the history that I've ever seen. Now I've
only been around at thirty years, but I mean, he's
that good, you know. And then you add Christian Wilkins,
who arguably is the best tackle in football.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
I mean, they're going to impact you so high.

Speaker 6 (07:53):
Praise for praise that's too hot.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
I'm not saying he won't be considered up there, but pause.
I mean you're talking Aaron Donald, JJ Watt, Ray, Lewis
ed Reed, Bruce Smith, Derek Thomas, John Randold, Derek Brooks,
Warren SAPs straighthan Erlacer Revas Champion.

Speaker 8 (08:13):
I mean, come on, and you.

Speaker 6 (08:16):
Still haven't said the best two ever.

Speaker 8 (08:19):
Over the last Reggie White.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Right, but they were a little bit before he really
didn't get in the NFL unto what the mid late nineties.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
But I mean, so Bruce Smith in there.

Speaker 8 (08:31):
I mean listen, because Bruce got into with the two thousands.

Speaker 7 (08:34):
Yeah, I mean I broke the record with him. We
broke that record together, you know what I mean.

Speaker 6 (08:38):
I was. I was out there with him. I took
that record with me.

Speaker 7 (08:40):
I was with I was I made history. Yeah, I'm
in the Hall of fame you have with Bruce. I'm
there with Bruce Smith.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
By the way, Levar's got as many Pro bowls as
Max Crosby.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
What was he on that list?

Speaker 8 (08:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (08:53):
No, Look, look seriously, Max Crosby. Hi. Uh.

Speaker 7 (09:03):
Max Crosby is a beast, He's a baller. He's a
special guy. He's built for for the skill set that
he brings to the table.

Speaker 6 (09:12):
I think he's a fun guy. I think rob Ryan.

Speaker 7 (09:18):
I think rob Ryan is giving that high praise and
hyping it for one reason or another. I don't know
what that reason is. But not the best ever, not
the greatest, I mean, but it's his opinion. He says
the greatest he's seen. But I think at the least
it tells you how how dominant Max Crosby has been

(09:41):
over the last you know, a few years.

Speaker 6 (09:43):
I mean, but I'm not going to.

Speaker 7 (09:45):
Go as far as to say, you know, go as
far as that in terms of what.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Here's what I love about Max Crosby is. For him,
it's not just about sack production. I think when you
look at his position, people tend to look at they
tend to look at precious quarterback knockdowns, Go look at
tackles for loss like, go look at what he does
on run plays. That guy is playing the game the
way it's supposed to.

Speaker 8 (10:09):
Play be played.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
He's constantly running down ball carriers from the backside. Even
when he doesn't get there, he's outing create opportunities for
other guys rushing.

Speaker 8 (10:18):
He plays with his head on fire man like.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
He plays the game the way I think every single fan,
every coach would want your player to play every play,
NonStop effort like. That's that's what I love about his game,
and that's why like look to put him in saying
he's the best.

Speaker 8 (10:34):
You've seen in the last thirty years.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
You know, as of right now you might be saying, Okay,
let's just hold off on those sort of superlatives, but
could he be.

Speaker 8 (10:44):
Yeah, I think when it's all said and done, there's
no doubt about it.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
But you'd like to see him dominate in a way
where I think it's you know.

Speaker 8 (10:52):
No one questions it right right now. If you're talking
about the best edge roshers, you say TJ.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Watt, Miles Garrett, you know those sorts of guys immediately
many in the conversation. You know, Max Crosby is up there,
but he hasn't like surpassed into any one of those
given years. I think once he does that, you know,
that will definitely put him on the map. It'll be
on that trajectory.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
That's what the Ryan brothers do though.

Speaker 7 (11:13):
I mean, you're talking about guys l T one m
VP of the league, not defense of m VP. That
man won MVP of the league. How many how many?
How many defense MVPs did J J. Watt get? Like five?

Speaker 8 (11:32):
Some ridiculous I got.

Speaker 6 (11:33):
Some crazy numbers out here.

Speaker 8 (11:34):
Man.

Speaker 7 (11:35):
So while I got mad respect, mad love for Max Crosby,
I I don't know that I'll make a game. I
want to make a game or two this year to
see them play. But Matt props to him for for
being as good as he's been.

Speaker 6 (11:51):
But let's not get carried away.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
You get a well you're gonna get to some Raider games. Huh,
You're gonna hang out a Citizen again in Mandalay you
hold court, have a couple of cocktails, you know, talking
about little Citizen place at Mandalay Bay we were at
during super Bowl Week.

Speaker 7 (12:09):
Yeah, I know what you're talking about, but I don't
know what you're talking. Yeah, you know, just hang out
there and uh, you never sent.

Speaker 6 (12:15):
The text message? What do you mean for the update?

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Come on, man, I can't never send you ask I
don't want to.

Speaker 7 (12:24):
You shouldn't have said it then, shouldn't have brought it up.
And no, I won't be doing that.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
Why not.

Speaker 7 (12:30):
I won't be having people walking up to me while
we're doing you know, radio and wiping what was she.

Speaker 6 (12:37):
Wipe off my She wiped something off my face? What
did she touch my face?

Speaker 8 (12:42):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (12:42):
No, that was it.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
That was at MGM during the draft when we were there.
The girl who uh yeah, yeah, that was at Citizen.
We were there for super Bowl week like you were.
You were in the same spot at Citizen.

Speaker 7 (12:57):
Significant amount how it was that the Citizen and and
it was very significant, A lot of significant time spent
that Citizen.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
You're right, Yeah, So there's a there's your there's the
go to if you go to a couple of Raider
games and it's walking distance right across to the stadium.

Speaker 6 (13:13):
And say, okay, that makes sense.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
So that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
All ties together now, but it is two pros and
a cup of joe here.

Speaker 6 (13:21):
On follow up to Max Crosby.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Man, by the way, if you guys wondering my opinion
on Rob Ryan saying Max Crosby is the best, I
couldn't care less.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Literally don't care at all, so he can.

Speaker 8 (13:31):
We don't care at all? I don't but you put
it as part of the rundown.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
Listen, I'm thinking about you, guys, But why do you
not care?

Speaker 7 (13:38):
Like there's I mean, rob Ryan has been around some
really good football.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
So if that's what does that not care? Because because
if that's what he feels, it's what he feels.

Speaker 8 (13:47):
Can I just complain about one thing real quick?

Speaker 6 (13:49):
What's that?

Speaker 13 (13:51):
Like?

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Hey, USA, if you're going to do a major sporting event,
all right, like breath the technology with you?

Speaker 8 (13:57):
What do you mean? Right?

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Like?

Speaker 1 (13:59):
No shot Trey certain none of this. I'm not saying
we need too many fancy gadgets.

Speaker 8 (14:05):
Yeah, old school.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
They hit the ball and you don't have any clue
it's out and you hope the cameraman's sober enough to
pick it up early on a Thursday morning.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
By the way, either it's the TV and studio or
that course hasn't been watered in three months.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
Looks a little dry. It looks like a European course,
or so.

Speaker 8 (14:19):
That's how they wanted to play. It's playing hard and fast.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Yeah, dang story in my life, all right? Coming up
next here, what's a part.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Fast?

Speaker 1 (14:29):
It more describes Jonas high schooldays, but fast, trust me,
hard fast man.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Coming up here from the Direct dot Com studios.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
It is a Thursday tradition.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
We're going to catch up with our guy Albert Breer
because we're going to find out just what the hell's
going on with a couple of situations in the NFL.
And it's yours here on FSR.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and
Jonas Knox weekdays. It's am Eastern, three am Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 14 (15:06):
Hey, we're Covino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to seven pm Eastern. But here's the thing, we
never have enough time to get to everything we want
to get to.

Speaker 15 (15:15):
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy will be over promising things we never
have time for. Yeah, you blubber list jamen me.

Speaker 14 (15:29):
Well, you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.

Speaker 15 (15:33):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised. Well, if
you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make sure you
check out over Promised and also Uncensored by the way,
so maybe we'll go at it even a little harder.

(15:55):
It's gonna be the best after show podcast of all time.
There you go, over Promising. Remember you could see on YouTube,
but definitely join us. Listen over Promised with Cadino and
Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you
get your podcasts.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe here on Fox
Sports Radio. Coming up in about twenty minutes from now,
we'll close up shop with another edition of.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
You and e U Out.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
But right now, Albert Breer is in. He's the senior
NFL reporter and lead content strategist at the MMQB. You
can get him on Twitter at Albert Breer and apparently
an NBA prognosticator because he kind of played out how
this series was going to go between the Seas and
the MAVs.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
AB what's happening?

Speaker 8 (16:33):
Good morning?

Speaker 13 (16:38):
We had to go there? Are we talking about Luca's defense?

Speaker 6 (16:40):
Here?

Speaker 4 (16:41):
You see, Wow, Luca is getting it?

Speaker 8 (16:44):
Uh?

Speaker 13 (16:47):
I actually I think I should I think I think
I said Celtics in five, so I may have underestimated them.

Speaker 6 (16:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Well, it's not looking good for the Mavericks. It's not
looking good for concerned Jets fans who are trying to
figure out what the hell is going on on with
Aaron Rodgers and Robert.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Salah, Nathaniel Hackett.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Nathaniel Hackett uh not calling plays during the two minute offense?
What is happening with the Jets? What's going on? There,
and more importantly, where's Rogers. We threw out some guesses.
Brady said, hot air balloon, ride LeVar said, graduation, I said,
psychedelic drugs. What is your guess as to where Rogers is?

Speaker 13 (17:26):
What could it be a combination of all those things,
maybe like a graduation on a hot air balloon while
on psychedelic drugs. I guess we can't rule anything out right, Yeah,
Like here's like I'll tell you what I know, and
then when I think about the situation, what I know
is that this was communicated to the jets, so you

(17:48):
know they did go through the proper channels and everything else,
and that you know, my understanding was, I mean, what
are the.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Proper channels, Like like Aaron Rodgers can't I mean, Albert,
Aaron Rodgers can't just call Robert sol and say, hey,
I have this personal matter of this thing going on
and that's it.

Speaker 13 (18:07):
Like what channels I'm saying, Like like it's just as
far as like okay, like how are we going to
handle this and all that? Like now and and and
you know, like I said, like Brady, it's just it's
all right, Like I'm not going to be able to
be there this week, how do we handle this? And
you know, they explain to Aaron, like, this is why
we have to have this as a non excused absence,

(18:29):
which I think is obvious to me, is like if
you're not going to allow it for any of the
other eighty nine guys on the team, If that sort
of thing came up and you wouldn't allow it for
the other eighty nine guys in the team, and you
would find any of those eighty nine guys for you know,
for missing the mini cams, then you have to find
Aaron too. And you know, I my understanding is that

(18:52):
there wasn't a lot of pushback from Aaron on that,
Like it's fine if it was not excused, if you
have to do it that way. Now, Like my, my,
my bigger, broader question is just the handling of it, right,
Like they could have gotten ahead of this and they
could have told the world about this two weeks ago,
three weeks ago, four weeks ago, whatever it was. They
could have let everybody know like, hey, look like this

(19:15):
is gonna you know, we're going to do this a
little bit differently, and you know, our quarterback's not going
to be there for mini camp, which is you know
which is is not insignificant of course, because that changes
the dynamic for everybody else in the opposite buddle.

Speaker 8 (19:29):
Albert, can you just get to the punch, like, like,
where's he at?

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Because because the reality is, if this is something that
I think they had communicated where he was, whether people
like it or not, they would at least be like,
oh okay, Like there's there'd be a group of people
who say that's justified. It's it's what he wants to do,
or it's a personal matter, we need to let him
do that. There's others that will probably still criticize him
because he's Aaron Rodgers and people just do that either way.

(19:52):
It feels like the secrecy of his absence is what
is probably most have some out there.

Speaker 13 (19:58):
I think that that's a fair set and of it.
And you know what I would tell you, Brady that
I've heard consistently from different people on this is like
that it's sort of the it's the sort of thing
that you would expect from him, I guess on brand
as the kids would say.

Speaker 16 (20:13):
Right like like I I don't have a nail down
to the point where I can say exactly what I
what you know, what I've heard it is, but I
do think, you know, I think eventually it'll probably get out,
and you know, I think and I think Aaron's the
way Aaron looks at this, and you know, maybe the
way that Jess looka two is like Aaron barely showed.

Speaker 13 (20:37):
Up for anything the last few years with Attackers, right,
he was away from the team's offseason program. Obviously that
was a big part in and how they developed Jordan
Love over those years, but he wasn't around a lot.
Like the last five six years in Green Bay. He
would show up with the mini camp, but other than that,
like you wouldn't see him much at the team facility.

(20:58):
And you know, now he's around almost the entire offseason
program right with the Jets the last two years he
has been. And I think his argument for the whole
thing would be, well, what difference does it make if
I want to take a week off during the off
season program and it just happens to be during this
week rather than two or three weeks ago, Well, then
what difference does that make?

Speaker 17 (21:19):
Right?

Speaker 13 (21:19):
Like, that would be his argument, I think, you know,
on the flip side of it, now, my argument counter
to that would be, well, if you're the Jets, you know,
I mean, why don't you just move your mini camp up?

Speaker 6 (21:31):
Right?

Speaker 13 (21:31):
Like, why don't you have your mini camp last week?
And then you have a couple of OTAs this week?
And if he's not there, it's it's really not that
big a deal at all, right, in every in every
in every way, in every way, like and sorry Lebar,
but like in every way, in every way. I think
the problem here is this is becoming a very big

(21:52):
deal because of the handling of it. Maybe not because
of what it actually is.

Speaker 7 (21:56):
It is because of the handling of it. But it's
his job. That's that's why he should be there. And
to me, like like Brady said, why not get ahead
of it and say it before you get to here
and say it's an unexcused absence he's going to go
through it. The question I have is, well.

Speaker 13 (22:13):
I'm here's the other thing, LeVar, the other thing too,
like what you just said, what you just said. I
think an important part of that is like he sort
of left Robert sala on Joe Douglas to explain it, right,
you know what I mean, like like it would be
it would probably be better if it was coming from
him rather than than than the coach and you know,
the team having to having to handle it on their

(22:34):
own while well he's often.

Speaker 4 (22:36):
God does where can you give us, like in the
ballpark what it is?

Speaker 6 (22:40):
Like?

Speaker 3 (22:41):
Like what are we talking about here, like in the
vicinity of what you think it might be where he's at,
Like is it like, uh.

Speaker 8 (22:48):
Just smoking pe in the and these mountains or something.

Speaker 13 (22:53):
I don't think it's a business focus event like I
would say that. I think it's I think it's something
like sounds to me like it's something that's been on
this calendar for a while, and you know they say
it's a you know, it's a personal event. You know,
there's an event you know, personally important to him or whatever.
I don't know this is as.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
Much to do with football, like a music festival or
something like that.

Speaker 13 (23:18):
I just natural part of it that would be good,
Like there's like a coach ella happening in another country
or something like that that we're thinking.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
I don't know, I'm just thinking, could there be something
like that going on?

Speaker 13 (23:28):
Right?

Speaker 8 (23:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 13 (23:29):
I did have I did have I did get a
lot of like you know, when the initial news came out,
there were a lot of good responses I think the
winner might have been like an RFK fundraiser that was
pretty good.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
I'm not I.

Speaker 8 (23:44):
Think we could come up with better ones than that.

Speaker 6 (23:46):
I'm not high on the Jets.

Speaker 13 (23:48):
Well, the the Ayahous, you know, like the Retreat, like that,
there was the dark the second coming of the there's
the second version of the Darkness Retreat. There were a
lot of good guests out there.

Speaker 8 (24:00):
That, right, that has to be what it is, right.

Speaker 13 (24:05):
Yeah, I mean like I think it's that would be
that would probably be my guess would be somewhere in that.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
Ball means which means ridiculous.

Speaker 7 (24:15):
Listen, I'm not high. I've made this point to the fellas.
I'm not high on the Jets, and I'm not high
on Aaron Rodgers. With the Jets, how how much does
this play a part? And if it meets I mean
not me saying it, but if this team doesn't get
off to a good start, abe there there has to
be the conversation of this. This experiment has definitely run

(24:39):
its course and we will refer back to moments like
this in terms of why it didn't work out. I mean,
don't shouldn't Aaron Rodgers be a little bit more cognizant
of the fact that he hasn't played enough football for
the Jets to be in a situation where he would
handle a situation that would cause and create this type

(25:00):
of ari it is he.

Speaker 13 (25:02):
Hasn't played any football for the Jet Stag. I mean, like,
and that's the part like this, I mean, he's been
a story for the Jets, you know, for for everything
but football until this point. Right So yeah, I mean
I I I the payoff has to come for them now.

(25:22):
And you know the crazy thing is it really does
feel like they're in this I mean like this, this this,
there's this golden opportunity in front of them. I mean, look,
Buffalo had to reset their roster in a lot of ways,
right Like, so now Jordan Ployer's gone, Michaeh Hyde has
gone to Davius White has gone, Stefan Diggs is gone,

(25:44):
Mitch Morris has gone. Like the Bills are turning over
the roster. The Dolphins did some similar things and offloading
some guys to get ready to pay Tua and letting
Christian Wilkins go and cutting jeronn Baker and Javian Howard.
You know, like they that division like looks like it's
right there for the taking for the Jets, the point
where they might be able to win enough games to
get a really high seed, you know, and then you've

(26:05):
got Aaron Rodgers in a playoff setting and all right,
like you know, like let's see what happens, you know.
So to me, like that's the crazy thing about it
is that there's every reason for everybody in that building
to be really locked in because there is this golden
opportunity right there in front of them. And you know,
I I think that the Jet the Jets were pushed

(26:26):
back on all of this by saying, well, we've had
a really good spring to this point and this is
just one week out of the spring. But you know,
again like this is this is making a story. This
is this is like almost like a story was generated
when they really didn't need to be one, and it's
not beneficial to the team.

Speaker 8 (26:43):
I mean, if they win this season, no one's going
to remember this, no.

Speaker 13 (26:46):
One's going to care, right that's but if they don't.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Point it is going to be one of the first
things they point to as part of the reason why,
or you know, whatever the narrative is.

Speaker 13 (26:57):
Yeah, I mean like that that that's That's the way
I'll goes right like, is that if they have a
bad September, everybody's pointing back to this, and you know
football anymore, and if Aaron throws, you know, for sixteen
touchdowns and two interceptions in September, then no one's going
to remember this ever happened. That's just that's just the

(27:18):
way the media works, right guys.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
Albert Brier joining us here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (27:22):
Abe.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
We were talking earlier about Sam Darnold. Kevin O'Connell says
he's going to get the first looks as starter when
they get to training camp next month. For you, which
is the most interesting quarterback battle to watch for his
training camp approaches?

Speaker 13 (27:40):
That that one's that one's a good one because you know,
I think the Vikings since they have a little bit
more in Sam than than people on the outside do.
And you know, I I think I brought this up
with you guys before, but you go back and watch
and I know it's garbage time, right like. But it
was the end of the the Niners Ravens game and

(28:02):
the Niners are getting blown out and Sam Donald gets
in the game and this is in a Kyle Shanahan
offense with with the Niners skill players out there with them,
with the Niners offensive line out there with them, and
you just see how fast he was playing, and it
almost looked like Kyle had rewired him a little bit, right.
And so he goes to Minnesota now and the bones

(28:24):
of Kevin's offensive Kyle's offense, right, So he's going to
get to go there, and is there an opportunity to
really resurrect his career? You know, I just from having
talked to people there, Ye, Sam's looked pretty good. Now
is it going to translate into the game field? We'll see.
You know, Sam Donald's looked good and practiced before. This
isn't the first time that's happened. But you know, there's

(28:47):
a very real there's a very real optimism around stands.
So JJ is gonna have to go out and win
the job. And you know, on top of that, I
know Kevin's had a very detailed as a very very detailed,
like you know, kind of set of checkpoints that he
wants JJ to hit before he's willing to put him
out there in the field. So I think that one's
going to be, you know, very very interesting. I'm just

(29:09):
thinking of other ones across the league. Of course, everything's
paying attention in Atlanta, but I don't think that's really
a competition. And then Denver, to me, is fascinating. You know,
You've got you know, Zach Wilson, Jarrett Sidham and and
and obviously bon Knicks out there, and bow Knicks started
over sixty games in college. So if there's anybody who
should be ready to go out there and play in

(29:30):
an NFL game among the quarterbacks who are drafted in
the first round, it should be Bo Nicks. I'm going
to be fascinated to see what happens in Denver's quarterback
battle too, So those would be the two. Really, I
think Denver Minnesota are probably the two most interesting.

Speaker 8 (29:46):
One not thinking ahead over sales, but you mentioned Denver.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
I'm just curious if things don't work out for them
this year, whether it's not Nicks or Zach Wilson, whoever juristed.

Speaker 8 (29:54):
I'm you know.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
How much of the blame is gonna be put on
Sean Payton? Like what's that seat look like there in Denver?

Speaker 13 (30:01):
Yeah, I think a lot of it, Brady comes down to,
you know, like is the team ascending at the end
of the year, I think if if you look at
the way the last two years have been handled, you know,
really there's been almost a repudiation of like the the
core that was in place before and the amount of
guys that have been offloaded, you know, from Bradley Chubb,

(30:21):
the Jerry Judy, you know, like a lot of the
Justin Simmons has gone now. So a lot of guys
that that team was built around over the last over
the last five years are are are gone now, you know.
And a lot of the big box decisions were made
by Sean Payton. So I don't think I don't think
anybody's under the illusion that Denver is gonna win eleven

(30:44):
or twelve games this year. But you know, I think
what you would like to see is the team is
ascending at the end of the year, that has young
players that are that are making place for them and
you know, and it's not a situation where the team
is foundering and Jerry Judy looks great and Cleve and
Bradley Chubb's come off the injury strong in Miami. You know, Like,

(31:04):
I think, really it's going to be what the team
looks like in December. I think we all expect that
they're going to have some bumps early on, but how
they finish the year and how they're going into twenty
twenty five, I think it's going to be the key.
And then, of course, I mean I think seeing how
Russell Wilson plays in Pittsburgh too, whether he's able to
hold onto the job there, what all that looks like
versus how the Denver quarterbacks look is probably going to
be a part of the equation too.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
Get him on Twitter or ex at. Albert Breers, senior
NFL reporter at the MMQB, lead content strategist as well. AB,
we appreciate it, enjoy the weekend. We'll do it again

he's still here the now he bailed the arena.

Speaker 8 (33:23):

Speaker 1 (33:24):
I was asking him for a quick preview because I
know he's he's picking the hockey.

Speaker 8 (33:29):
How's Edmonton gonna get back into this thing? That's the
big question.

Speaker 4 (33:32):
Let's go Oilers.

Speaker 8 (33:35):
Like war Moon.

Speaker 4 (33:37):
Well I mean them too, but I'd like to see

we deserve.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
It our show specifically or yes.

Speaker 8 (33:52):
I don't think we've been good enough.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
We've not conducted ourselves in a manner where we deserve
anything more than two four game sweeps.

Speaker 8 (33:59):
Damn, it's just saying sorry, boys, I feel.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
LeVar is out.

Speaker 8 (34:07):
He's out.

Uh literally, what else? Well?

Speaker 17 (34:10):
We got Canadian Football Week to Winnipeg Blue Bombers at
the Ottawa Red Blacks.

Speaker 4 (34:14):
Oh geez, I love the Red Blacks.

Speaker 8 (34:17):
Yeah, what does that mean? Lvar out?

Speaker 11 (34:20):
Blue Bombers.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
All right, what about my Calgary Stampede as they still
floating around big part of Calgary?

Speaker 4 (34:28):
Love them?

Speaker 6 (34:30):
Yeah? It made you black?

Speaker 13 (34:31):

Speaker 4 (34:33):
What else?

Speaker 11 (34:35):
Guys?

Speaker 17 (34:35):
On the Roku channel, which is the thing the NFL
Draft to Pick is? In season two documentary on the
behind the scenes behind the NFL.

Speaker 8 (34:43):
Jonas is all into that out. Jonas is deep into that.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
What the hell is the Roku channel?

Speaker 11 (34:50):
If you have a channel, I.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
Have a Roku TV. I've never watched that channel.

Speaker 6 (34:55):
Have a ro channel?

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Bro Okay, I I got your Roku right here.

Speaker 11 (35:02):
Oh wow, I'm gonna say you enter out on Roku.

Speaker 6 (35:04):
See you next week, buddy. What else?

Speaker 12 (35:13):
Lee?

Speaker 8 (35:13):
Uh?

Speaker 17 (35:14):
Guys A Page Sporadic has put thrown her hat in
the ring to fill in for Joey Chestnut at the
Nathan's Hotdog Contest.

Speaker 11 (35:22):
She actually posted She actually posted a video of her
eating a bunch of hot dogs in ten minutes.

Speaker 8 (35:28):
You know, a woman, this could go one of two ways.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
There's gonna be some dudes who really like that and
they're gonna fantasize about everything that that entails. Or there's
gonna be other dudes that do not want to see
her scarfing down a bunch of food like that.

Speaker 11 (35:46):
Yeah, I turned it off right away. It was pretty gross.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
By the way, how many hot dogs could you eat
in ten minutes?

Speaker 6 (35:50):
Lee?

Speaker 4 (35:51):
Could I eat?

Speaker 6 (35:52):
Start? You think we should do it on air?

Speaker 8 (35:55):
I'm out full.

Speaker 6 (35:57):
I don't know that could be the referee.

Speaker 8 (35:58):
I'm not taking any sort and we should do it
on air.

Speaker 7 (36:01):
Okay, we should plan on doing for the Super Bowl, okay.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
If we all right?

Speaker 3 (36:07):
So, if we set the over under it four and
a half dog and bun for Lee in ten minutes,
I would.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
Take the over over.

Speaker 8 (36:15):
Yeah, I think you put it like five and a half,
six and a half.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
Yeah, Lee, I think you could do it.

Speaker 6 (36:19):
I mean yeah, if I if I put my mind.

Speaker 11 (36:22):
To it, I can do it.

Speaker 6 (36:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (36:24):
Well is he sober? Drunk?

Speaker 6 (36:26):
Oh?

Speaker 11 (36:26):
Yeah, that's a good question. Drunk, I can get six down?

Speaker 3 (36:30):
And yeah, you know what, let Lee drink the first
two and a half hours of the show. In the
final half hour, we'll break we a hot dog eating
contest online that works.

Speaker 7 (36:41):
Your belly will be fool, bro, you won't be able
to get as many down.

Speaker 11 (36:45):
That's a good Well, it depends on what I'm drinking.

Speaker 6 (36:47):
You're right, No, it doesn't.

Speaker 11 (36:49):
I mean, I can't be drinking beer. Beer beer will
fill me up.

Speaker 6 (36:51):
Yeah, that's super fool.

Speaker 8 (36:53):
It's what do you go?

Speaker 3 (36:54):
Uh go over to go over to Wow and pick
up a couple of mini bottles and yeah.

Speaker 11 (36:58):
I get some tequila in there. I think that they'll
row me up. Look at my metabolism.

Speaker 6 (37:02):
Going all right, guys.

Speaker 17 (37:08):
Travis Kelsey says he'd wants to be a broadcaster when
he retires. I was brought up on his podcast with
his brother said he does not want to be an owner,
but does want to be a broadcaster.

Speaker 8 (37:18):
Yep out join the club, right. I think he'd be good.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
The only hesitation I have is a lot of guys
want to do it, and then they look at the schedule.
They're like, well, wait a second, I'm now doing with
the same exact schedule I had when I was a player.
I don't have so much autonomy over that. And they
don't end up liking that portion.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
Of it if they didn't have the podcast going the
way it was gone. Just keep doing that, man, make
your hot schedule so much. Yeah, make your own schedule
and just live your life. Live your life or life.

Speaker 6 (37:49):
Just live your life.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
Oh wow, how beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, Oh,
