and I don't know if maybe I'm reading too much
into this, but this is a story that came out
(01:01):
in the NFL. So shod Cohn, who is uh? Which,
By the way, I demand, if we're going to talk
Jaguars at any point throughout the course of the season,
can we please play Shaka Khan? Like, if we're going
to talk Jags, we just got to play whatever begin
is to that song. But Shod Cohn, the owner of
(01:22):
the Jaguars, he spoke with Mark Long of the AP
the Associated Press about the team, and you tell me
whether or not this feels like all of the attention
and all of the focus goes to Doug Peterson and
whether or not Doug Peterson's on the hot seat. So
there was a couple of things that he discussed on
the play calling, because apparently Doug Peterson split handed over
(01:45):
play calling duties last year. Shod Cohn said, quote, yeah,
I have an opinion, but I don't want to tell
people what we need to do because then things don't
work out. They look at me and say, we did
it because you wanted it. He also pointed out in
a re call him in The New York Times and
there was a line that indicated could Doug Peterson's future
(02:06):
be hanging in the balance in twenty twenty four, and
he said, quote, if I were in that situation, I'd
want my hands on the wheel. Doug he's empowered. I'm
going to let him decide. He also talked about these
struggles last year, and he said the following injuries are
a part of the game. We had some of those injuries,
but I think it's an organizational failure that had happened.
(02:27):
All of those players I talked to, It's like, how
could this happen? What happened? For me? It really is
a cause for self reflection and then something good could
come out of it, because we just can't have that
again this year. End quotes that to me feels like
Doug Peterson's been put on notice. I expect more out
of you. You've never finished below five hundred in the
(02:49):
two years that you've been a head coach for the
Jacksonville Jaguars. But apparently going into this year, based on
what happened last year, either they get it done or
the Jags are in the market for a new head
coach next year. Am I crazy to read that much
into it.
Speaker 5 (03:05):
I think the decision to extend Trevor Lawrence leads you
down the path of kind of getting a sense for
all right, this is where the organization feels like they
got it right, and that's the drafting of Trevor Lawrence
because they're now onto their second head coach and Doug Peterson,
and they brought him in to work with a young
(03:28):
quarterback to help develop this young quarterback.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
I think that was the.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
Thought process behind the jump for Carson Wentz and his
rookie year when they're naming it wentzyl Vane and all that,
and Doug Peterson was part of that staff.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
You know.
Speaker 6 (03:45):
That's at least how it looks on the onset is.
Speaker 5 (03:48):
They are looking at this year as a crucial year
for Doug Peterson and his staff because it's not so
much the players and how they've built this roster, which
maybe you could make that case. To me, the biggest
issue I see with this team, at least last year
was their offensive line. The protection was spotty, and they've
they've addressed it, so they should be improved. But it's
(04:11):
also been the play calling, you know, and there's been
an internal debate between you know, Press Taylor calling plays
Doug Peterson, who ultimately is going to be calling the
plays or should be calling the plays. Everything fuels horizontal.
It feels like they're trying to stretch the field horizontally.
There's no threat to a defense vertically, and again that
(04:32):
could be based on, hey, we don't feel like we've
got that guy to stretch the field vertically, and this
is what we're going to try to do to help
create space for playmakers to make plays right, spread things out,
try to stretch the field sideline to sideline. But as
LeVar would tell you, like that really doesn't scare a defense.
You know, you got to be able to have speed
and guys who can create big plays where it puts
(04:53):
pressure on the rush, puts pressure on the coverage, puts
pressure on everyone. And they didn't demonstrate that last year.
So they need to incorporate more of it, you know.
But I think who's calling those players, who's making those
decisions on offense, well, largely the term of what happens
for the Jags of season.
Speaker 7 (05:10):
I think it's so critical for Trevor Lawrence after getting
that uh, you know, extension, as you mentioned, it's critical
for him to become the quarterback that everybody has expected
him to become.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
I think he's done well.
Speaker 7 (05:28):
And and and at times has been has been really
really encouraging to see what he's able to do. But
I think if we're all being honest, if we're looking
at Trevor Lawrence and what his projection was coming out
of college, I think he's come up short on on
on what.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
What he has been expected to be.
Speaker 7 (05:52):
And I think that's solely it's solely after doing the extension,
I would say it's solely fall at the feet of
the coaching staff because you clearly don't think that it's
Trevor Lawrence, and I would be in agreeance with that.
I don't think that Trevor Lawrence not being a top
(06:13):
five quarterback in the National Football League by now is
because Trevor Lawrence is incapable of doing it at the
NFL level. And so if you got to figure out
what's the reason, you got to start with the head coach.
And then now the head coach is on notice, so
the head coach had better identify why Trevor Lawrence has
(06:36):
not become more of what he's needed to become since
coming into the National Football League.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
And I think that that's.
Speaker 7 (06:44):
Ultimately what this is all about, is that you have
a small market team, you got a generational talent in
Trevor Lawrence, and Trevor Lawrence hasn't been exactly everything that
he's been average ties to be coming into the league.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
I think that's a tough one. That's a tough one to.
Speaker 7 (07:04):
Have to If I'm Shad Cod and I know I
can pack my stadium out.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
I'm starting to sound nasily. My sons are crazy right now.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
A blow snot rocket on the air right now?
Speaker 7 (07:16):
Yeah, well, yeah, that's kind of funny. Look I had
this little little sniff though.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
That's why what Jonas does after he like says something
kind of you know, witty, that's a little snut rocket.
That's kind of yeah, that is true. He does do that.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
I've got tells doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Anyway.
Speaker 7 (07:35):
I think that that's kind of you know, you want
to be able to sell your stadium. You want to
be able to leverage if you want to, you know,
get a new stadium built, or you want to go
over seas, whatever it may be that they're looking to leverage.
Trevor Lawrence is a major part of this, and I
think the entire storyline of this, whole entire conversation is
(07:56):
probably based around Trevor Lawrence. What it's Trevor Lawrence going
to be this year and moving forward, and Doug Peterson
had better figure out how to get the best out
of him and get him to transition from where he's at,
like he's on the cusp to being on the other
side of being on the cusp to being like that guy.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
That's what I would say.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Is there something to maybe Doug Peterson. I don't know
if rubbing people the wrong way is the term to
go with, or maybe wearing out his welcome because he
did great things in Philly and it wasn't long after
they won a Super Bowl and they did historic things
together that they had to move on from him. And
then he gets to Jacksonville. And if you look down
(08:40):
the list of coaches that have been there, man Gus
Bradley got a long leash, so did Doug Moron. None
of them had success early on like Doug Peterson did. Again,
as mentioned, never finished below five hundred since he's been there.
Yet the owner picks this offseason to come out and say,
(09:00):
as to go, as far as he's on the hot seat,
we need more. And it's like, well, what happened in
the previous regimes that are different than this one, especially
coming off what happened with Urban Meyer and that whole situation.
I wonder maybe if Doug Peterson, if this is another
example of you know, maybe he doesn't work well with
some owners, and maybe he doesn't you know, there's a
(09:22):
little bit of friction there maybe that's why there could
be the potential of him being out this year, because
they haven't shown this sort of impatience before with other
head coaches outside of what happened with Urban Meyer, which
is sort of a one off situation.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
May and Om had Trevor Lawrence, none of them.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
Yeah, Okay, and I think I would say yeah, I
think to Levar's point, and I think the the objective
is very clear. When Doug Peterson got there, and you know,
you make it to the divisional round in the first year,
you feel like you're taking steps back. I mean, you'd
be hard pressed to find anyone who didn't think that
team took.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
A step back last year.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
And meanwhile in your division, like Houston's getting better, Indianapolis
is going to be competitive. You know, not sure where
Tennessee is going to finish up, but everyone around you
you feel like it's getting better, and so you got
to make a move. And they I think they have
enough this offseason to not like necessarily say they're going
all in for this year. I mean, I feel like
most teams feel like when they have a quarterback, they're
(10:23):
always going all in, right, that windows never closing, but
that there's a very clear objective maximize Trevor Lawrence. You know,
go try to win a Super Bowl and if you can't.
And I feel like there's a lot of owners who
are probably sitting here right now who feel this sort
of pressure is there's a guy named Bill Belichick who's
(10:43):
you know, kind of sitting out there for you. There's
that big fish that why not give him a call?
I mean, worse ticking save you is no, And you
know you'd he'd want to get back into it, and
you'd know he'd want to be a place where, hey.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
He's back on the East Coast.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
He's got a quarterback you know you can believe in too,
He's got pieces on defense. Josh Allen's phenomenal off the edge.
Like like with with Bill Belichick out there, until he
says he's done done, he's not going to coach. I
feel like for most owners who are looking critically at
their head coach, they've got this window and they're saying, well,
(11:18):
I can bring him in. I've got a two, three,
four year whatever it is, you know, whatever Bill Belichick
wants to do.
Speaker 6 (11:23):
But as long as he's out there and he.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
Hasn't said I'm done, coaching and that's a possibility. It
puts more pressure on any coaches on the hot seat
or any coach that has underachieved or took a step
back last year. And Doug Peterson sits in that category.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
By the way, that's a great call. And nobody's mentioned
Jacksonville's a potential landing spot for Belichick with a with
a quarterback already in place. That could make a ton
of sense because all we've heard about is, you know,
the Cowboys, the Eagles, places like that. But you know,
maybe Jacksonville is the spot there, you know, a nice
place to uh, to go ahead and get that wins
(11:59):
record that division. That could be fun. So look at
you pointing out, So can we run with that? Lee
on Twitter? Please? On Fox Sports Radio from.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Meticu Belichick to Jacksonville.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Brady Quinn says the Jaguars should fire dut Peterson and
hire Bill. Jeez, we could just go with that.
Speaker 5 (12:17):
Am I wrong in the assessment that if you were,
if you were any owner out there with Bill Belichick?
Speaker 6 (12:23):
I just I feel like that's gonna be a conversation.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
By the way, So let's just not stop at Belichick.
Like Mike Rabel's out right now, Mike Vrabel would be
an awesome fit down in Jacksonville. Like, he's another one
that you've got some guys right now that I think
there's some owners that are probably having conversations saying, like,
we've got this guy teed up. And for the most part,
you know, you think about you go offense and you
(12:45):
go defense. You know the next time is how you view.
Sometimes bring in head coaches easier to sell that way,
different change and all that. But I mean there's there's
multiple guys out there that I think are putting pressure
on current head coaches because they've had good stints in
the past whatever has or hasn't worked out. But I
mean the goat and Bill Belichick is number one there.
(13:07):
But even again v Abel look at his resume, he's
another one that comes to mind that you could easily
step in there.
Speaker 6 (13:12):
I think provide a spark to that franchise.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
In that scene, it's like finding out the rocket ship
down the street just got single. All of a sudden,
everybody perks up, anybody who's got a relationship on thin ice,
and all of a sudden.
Speaker 5 (13:24):
As if you could get the rocket ship down the street.
It's like the way she laughs. You know it kind
of bothers me the way she laughs. You know it's
going to get on your nerves a little bit more.
Didn't notice it before, but now it's like bothering you
a little better.
Speaker 4 (13:35):
All of a sudden.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
Maybe it's the perfume. You're like, yeah, I don't really
like that perfume. She could change it, but you know,
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
All of a sudden, your eyes have opened. You can't
even believe it.
Speaker 6 (13:46):
What's the way how does she chew her food like that?
Speaker 2 (13:48):
What's that noise she made? Shoes her food?
Speaker 6 (13:50):
It's like it's like little things start to like pop up.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
You're like, wait a second, is that her sock she
left in the living room? No, that's mine, but it
looked like hers.
Speaker 8 (14:00):
Her fault, not really, Yeah, she could use yours for
cutting board, good point geeze backscratcher too well. Listen, that
is a two weeks I just don't get it.
Speaker 4 (14:15):

I don't want to know the words.
Speaker 7 (16:04):
Don't you talk bad about Shaka call ska Chaka Chaka call.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
We loving Chaka car is wrong.
Speaker 6 (16:11):
I don't want to be right.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
We don't know right.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
We don't have a feel for you from Chaka Khan.
Do it really like? You don't even need it. You
just need the beginning.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
So yeah, that's it. That's all you need is.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
Chuck a con, chuck a con, go jacks, code tags,
fine your ass, coach Peterson. All right, so we are
going to have over unders coming up here. As we
take a look.
Speaker 5 (16:41):
At the way we can not I know, you gotta
do the radio formatics. But what other owner parks. They're
mega yacht like downtown, which is like viewing distance from
the city.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
You show him, you got to show him whose bomb.
Speaker 5 (16:57):
Like that's that's kind of a boss move. I see
that yacht over there. Yeah, it's uh, that's ours.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
And so he so now he lives in that doesn't
he and he just stays there and then what does
you just across a walk, across a bridge and then
go to the game and that's it.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (17:15):
I mean, I'm not sure it works exactly like that,
but uh, I mean the uber uber uber wealthy people,
there's all sorts of things that they have to do
to avoid like a state taxes and things. I mean,
I've heard of owners having to live in like Bermuda
for six or seven years just to be able to
inherit inherit a franchise tax free. I mean, you hear
(17:40):
all kinds of stuff because.
Speaker 6 (17:42):
The tax Like, all of a sudden, when taxes.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
Are due, man, you gotta run a check for like
fifty million. It's that's a pretty hefty deal. It's like
it's cool to own a franchise. Then all of a
sudden you realize you gotta get to pay the taxes
on it as well.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
By the way, a little fun fact, and I believe
this is accurate. If it's not, we'll clean it up
post show. But Shad Khan got his inspiration and his
love for the NFL from when the Bears had to
relocate and play games. They were playing home games in Champagne,
and so because he was going to Illinois at the time,
(18:16):
he would go to Bears games and he would watch
the games there on campus. And that's how he got
interested in the NFL, and that's what led to him
wanting to become an owner and pursue that. What do
you think about that?
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Huh? That's a pretty neat story if it's true.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
Yeah, I coming from you who just double check and
see if that's true.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
We double checked off his Wikipedia page. Is how you
found that information?
Speaker 2 (18:38):
Lead we have?
Speaker 4 (18:39):
We have that confirmation on that yet? Sure? Yeah, yes, boy,
what do you mean sure?
Speaker 2 (18:47):
Like?
Speaker 4 (18:47):
Is this is this accurate or not? I believe my
reputations on the line here. I believe that there.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Come on, there's not much on the line then, is there?
Speaker 4 (18:55):
You can't you can't look it up?
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Leave?
Speaker 8 (18:57):
Please?
Speaker 5 (18:59):
Is the internet working? Is that the show where she's
looked at something else on the Internet? I was looking
he definitely was. You went down that wormhold and it's
been that type of show.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
It was Chaka Khan Nott Shod.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
It was.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
His search history says.
Speaker 6 (19:16):
I just say, can you imagine going through Lee's search history?
Speaker 4 (19:20):
I've seen it. Have you, I've said I accidentally he
uh oh, no, I saw what do they call that?
What's the when you go on Instagram, it's not where
they show everything. That's like recommendations to you. What's that
part of it? Whatever it is? Search?
Speaker 2 (19:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (19:35):
Yeah, and Lee had is We're at the graduate in Colombia.
Lee had his phone open.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
For some reason.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
I saw this light shining off his phone. I looked
down and I swear to god, I thought he was
watching every Source awards from the last thirty years. Like
I've never seen anything like it. I've never seen And
I was like, Lee, what are you looking to? Oh? Whoops?
There was people around, people from the graduate. I was like,
(20:05):
oh boy, all right. So so now we now we
do have confirmation.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
So how do we get it? Well, sowars, Yeah, you
know you uh oh, it just hit me. All right.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
It is a sight to behold, all right, I got it.
It is a sight to be old. Any confirmation on
Shod Conley being at Bears games at Illinois back in
the day. If not, you know, like we could make
something up too, that'll work also on this show. All right,
So from Shod Cohn and the Jacksonville Jaguars over to Tua.
(20:45):
Apparently Brady's buddy Jeff Darlington, who took time out of
covering the Scottie Scheffler arrest video, which by the way,
did a phenomenal job at that, and apparently he says
that while he's not saying a deal won't get done
between the Dolphins and Tua, he said that the Dolphins
(21:06):
are currently not offering to a contract that is market value,
similar to Jared Goff or Trevor Lawrence. And so when
Tua came out and admitted he was a little bit
frustrated and also pointed out that the market is what
the market is. The fact that the Dolphins are offering
him a deal under that market value, could we be
(21:27):
on the verge of seeing maybe a Dak Prescott two
point zero where he just kind of plays this thing out,
He's got this one last year to go, then maybe
he gets into a franchise tag situation. But maybe Tua
bets on himself and then ultimately gets paid. Because if
we're being truthful about it, his numbers are better than
Trevor Lawrence's numbers throughout the course of his throughout the
(21:48):
start of his career. I know it's a better situation.
But it hasn't been all peaches for Tua, considering Brian
Flores didn't want him there the first year. From the
sounds of it, oh, it feels like where to contract
stand still here between the Dolphins and Tua, which.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Which is what makes it difficult, right.
Speaker 5 (22:07):
I mean, Mike McDaniel took the job really catering this
offense towards Tua, and I'm sure part of him if
you go back and.
Speaker 6 (22:18):
Recall why Brian Flores was fired.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
As there was a disagreement, we're just scrumbling up between
him and Chris Greer and how that whole situation was handled.
And Chris Greer, who won the battle obviously because he's
still there, brings in a head coach then who sees
value Intoa and his ability and wants to make him
the quarterback they think they can make him, and so far,
I think you'd have to say it's working. I mean
(22:43):
pretty much every single year he's been there with Mike McDaniel,
he's gotten better and better as a quarterback.
Speaker 6 (22:48):
And so there's two sides of the conversation.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
There's that element of it where if Tua does better
on himself, he replicates what he did last year, maybe
even gets a little bit better. You're gonna be looking
at and staring at a guy who you're gonna have
the franchise tag. You're gonna have to agree to some
sort of long term deal, and it's only gonna get
more expensive. But the concerns are injury history. He had
(23:13):
a litany of injuries from his time in Alabama. He's
had some two in the NFL. Concussions specifically would be
the biggest concern. How you create frameworks around that in
the contract, clauses around that in the contract.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Or get you with your guarantees, because that's a tough thing.
Speaker 6 (23:28):
I mean to had two really bad ones in one year.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
You know, nowadays the way concussions are viewed, it's not
like he has that many more to sustain. And so
that's always lingering out there, and it's probably in the
backs of the minds of you know, the coaching staff,
the front office and ownership. And so when you sign
a guy to a huge number and guarantees, and that's
(23:52):
typically what you hear, right, You'll hear a total number
that's guaranteed or guaranteed at signing, and then you'll hear
injury only guarantee. So all that money that you're putting
away an escrow, if you're Steven Ross their owner and
goes bye bye, it could be gone in a flash
with one really bad concussion where maybe he doesn't want
(24:15):
to do it anymore, maybe medically he's being totally shouldn't anymore.
There's all those concerns, So this contract will be a
tough one, I think from that, From that perspective, but
also because I think there's a thought when you look
at Tua's physical traits and ability, it compareson to Justin Herbert,
for example, who has drafted you know, the same year,
what a pick behind?
Speaker 6 (24:37):
You know, you look at Herbert, who's got a howitzer
for an arm?
Speaker 5 (24:40):
I mean, anyone who's watched you know two in the Dolphins,
They're not going to sit there and even try to
compare the arm strength of either the two.
Speaker 6 (24:47):
But yet that's the type of arm strength.
Speaker 5 (24:49):
Those are the types of plays that people feel like
you need to have in the NFL in order to
be successful and win a championship. You know, Josh Allen's
got similar arm talent, still doesn't want it yet, but
he's also valued in that same way. So that becomes
the other portion of it, is not only the injury portion,
but could someone else come in and run this offense
with the talent that's around the quarterback spot and a
(25:09):
play caller like Mike McDaniel and get similar results? And
if so, you know, are they able to find that
guy either via the draft, reagency, what have you. So
there's just there's a lot of I think, conversations around
you know, what too is within this offense and what
that means for a long term contract and not trying
to hamstring yourself in agreeing to a deal that's gonna
(25:30):
really crush them and the salary cap hits for the
next you know, foreseeable future.
Speaker 7 (25:34):
I guess I don't really have anything to add to that.
I mean, I like what what what was said? I mean,
I just think that it's all based around his health,
if you ask me, I really do. And it's hard
to make that type of investment. I mean when you
think about how much of how much scrutiny and just
(25:58):
how much how much the NFL really really breaks down
and discriminates against like whatever it may be, injuries, height, size, speed, agility.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
Whatever it may be, something wrong with you more than
something right with you. Bro.
Speaker 7 (26:16):
If I'm gonna be paying you millions of dollars to
pay a kid's sport, you had better be as close
to perfect as you possibly can be, you know. And
that's kind of so it's kind of like for what
it's worth, I understand tooa once his market value, and
it makes sense from tu a side, but it also
(26:36):
makes sense from Miami side to look at it and
be a little bit you know, kind of larry of it,
like we love you, and we we see the development,
we see you progressing, but you're one hit away. As
as Q mentioned, you're one hit away from changing your
fortunes and ours and and that's as a as an organization,
(26:58):
that's hard.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
That's that's a hard one to kind of.
Speaker 7 (27:01):
Fight peace with if you're going to do a ginormous
contract with with that player.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
What was the harshest thing you guys heard during a negotiation?
Like it like it didn't like when they're trying to
find something wrong with you that it's like Jesus.
Speaker 5 (27:15):
My final contract. And then this is what happens when
you don't have any leverage. And I've been year eight,
had no leverage, no leverage whatsoever, and so you're just
looking for a chance on an opportunity. And so the
clause they put in my contract stated that I had
to take out waivers on previous injuries back injury, foot injury,
neck of other things too.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
And what a waiver.
Speaker 5 (27:38):
Basically means is you're not getting paid if you reinjure
any of those. You're basically staying like this has been
a past issue. I'm aware of it, the team's aware
of it. You know, any monies that are within like
you're you're not you know, you're not getting paid for that.
And the other thing that stated was I had to
get surgery by their doctors if they're going to pay
for it, not doctors of their own choosing, and rehab
(28:01):
with their rehab, you know, with with their trainers, et cetera,
which typically you know, you know at that point you're
not going to be a focus for anyone there. And
so not saying that they're not going to do a
good job because they're unethical, but you're not gonna get
the time, focus and attention you would be if you
could go somewhere else, you know where that that is
their job to make sure you get back one hundred
percent as good as possible.
Speaker 6 (28:23):
And then there's a there's another.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
Part of the clause that stated if I had an
injury that was a result of a previous injury of
you know said stated previous injuries, I also would not
get paid within that you know waiver. So you know,
my my agency, the point was just like, we've got
to send you a letter to have you acknowledge that
(28:46):
we don't advise you to sign this contract, but if
you want an opportunity like this is, you know here
it is. And so I literally had to sign off
from a letter from my agency stating that they advised
me not to sign the contract, and then I went
to the contract because I still want to keep trying
to play and I wanted to keep trying to find
an opportunity. I think the hardest thing after that was
and this is where like the topic and idea of
(29:09):
collusion that you hear is most teams would handle it
the exact same way, because at that point in time,
when you are a depreciating asset, you've had these injuries,
and you have zero leverage, they're going to put every
single thing within that contract to protect their downside risk
of you having another injury. So at that point, it
(29:30):
was like, well, here we are. You know, if I
want to try have a chance of playing, I want
to put my body at risk. That's on me and
I have to be responsible for that. But that's the
position that some of these players are in. You know,
at the start of my career, that was not the
position I was ever in. At the end of the
of my career, that's the position I was in. And
so it's unfortunate because for Tua in this specific situation,
(29:52):
he's played well, he's actually been able to remain healthy
of late, you know that the whole health thing hasn't
been quite as much an issue besides the cushions, which
still sticks out as a big issue for me. But
there's still all the injury history they take from college.
So it's a tough negotiation. And trust, when you're talking
about multi multi million dollars, it's it's gonna be a
(30:14):
really tough negotiation for your him and the team.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
It's crazy. It's two it's two pros, and I will
say sorry.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
For you, Q Hey, Yeah, don't apologize for me, man.
That's that's the life we live in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
You know, Shoot, hey, but you know what, it got
us here and that's all that matters. It's two pros
and a couple of show here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Uh, that's gonna be my next question. What do you mean?
Speaker 4 (30:44):
Come on, we're hanging out telling lies about each other
on the air for three hours. That's always fun.
Speaker 2 (30:51):
I just can you stop with the whole what's going
viral right now? Stop acting like you don't know? Well.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
The funny thing is, I've been around some guys who
listen to our show of late, like yesterday when when
I was when I missed, and they asked like, why
does Jonas do?
Speaker 6 (31:05):
I was like, I don't know, I don't I do
not know what do I do?
Speaker 1 (31:08):
What?
Speaker 5 (31:08):
I don't like what you're doing this morning, trying to
get us in trouble. Like we got a good thing going, man,
don't mess it up.
Speaker 6 (31:14):
That's all same.
Speaker 4 (31:14):
I just I was wondering if LaVar could clear up
what what that hell?
Speaker 5 (31:18):
LeVar has also been been very good about that subject.
You're the one that's gonna try to get us in trouble.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Thank you. That's I agree. I mean, I'll be honest.
Speaker 5 (31:26):
I thought Lorena kind of popped in their minute it bad.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
I mean a bad.
Speaker 7 (31:32):
It was all the way, man, I mean the ways
you sounded what you said it was kind of super funny.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
I'm just glad she didn't say it. She said it.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
Well, let me just I would quickly like to point
this out. We know that there are certain subjects in
certain matters that you've got a tiptoe around, And what
we like to do is play hot potato on this
show and sort of throw one in somebody's lap and
be like, who wants this?
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Especially our one?
Speaker 7 (31:59):
Oh yeah, Like that's hour two. You gotta slow up.
Hour three, you gotta tighten up. But our one hour
one be really bad.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
If we're filling in on the herd again, really tighten it's.
Speaker 7 (32:10):
Never going to happen. I mean, it's never going to happen.
I'm never going to take any shots. I took a
shot last time. I got dump and I know it
was not a dumble bull offense.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
But we get invited back on the herd.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
By the way, Yeah, thank's coming up.
Speaker 6 (32:23):
We're just not we're not pushing the boundaries enough.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
I'm not going to do it anymore.
Speaker 5 (32:27):
Hey, boys, how about we talk about Dallas. Uh, here's
here's my plan for that show. We'll talking about the
Dallas Cowboys, Okay, Lakers and Lebron.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Okay, I'm trying to think what else? What else? Dak's
part of the Dallas conversation. We have to talk about Dak.
What else?
Speaker 5 (32:43):
Southern Cal I'm about I think we checked checked it all.
Manhattan Beach, that's about. That's right, Manhattan Beach. When I'm
off some some local restaurants and pubs, and.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
What's the one what's the one right next to it?
Manhattan and or Mosa. So there you go. Yeah, you
gotta talk about it. I miss anything.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
Pretty Mustraanica.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
Yeah, I think we got it.

one and a half of it.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Let's take that over.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
I'll take the under.
Speaker 2 (34:49):

Speaker 2 (35:22):
Take that under.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
I'm gonna take under dose and a half.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
There. I like that.
Speaker 9 (35:27):
Also two and a half is between USA and Uruguay
at at Arrowhead Stadium Monday on FS one.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
Is that how you say it? Your okay? Take over?
On this one?
Speaker 4 (35:42):
Under Mandy, USA looked awful. I can't believe they lost that.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
Yes, they did lose. Oh you can't.
Speaker 5 (35:49):
You really can't believe it. What has national team make
you think that they are going to be dominant? Right?
Speaker 2 (35:57):
That's true?
Speaker 6 (35:58):
Like what he said, I can't believe. Yes, we can
all believe it. We can all believe what nothing like
well spanking.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
So when I was in commute that they lost. They
had been just the equipment when shod Con says we
should be so much better than that, Oh yeah, where's
the proof.
Speaker 7 (36:15):
And then the fact that they started like beating each
other up on the field. I was like, we gotta win,
we gotta win.
Speaker 4 (36:21):
Come on you, I'll take the over. I think they're
going to give up more than two and a half gold.
