Speaker 2 (02:43):
Yes, they do, Yes, they'd be moving to get the
tarps out athletes man athletes with those tarts.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
I mean that's the highlight for certain Hi guys, good morning.
Speaker 6 (02:57):
The main the low light is no glad by Jesus.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Well, maybe I don't know.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
You guys gotta know how to treat him. Yeah, you
just don't know how to treat him.
Speaker 6 (03:06):
You gotta do to treat him.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
You know, he comes out here, he just wants to
be treated fairlight be Jesus.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
You can't water sucks waters. You can't bully the guy
and expect him to show up. Oh my gosh, act accordingly.
Damn well, he ain't got it got it not the
way he gambles. Uh yeah, the Wimbledon. What is it
to call the center court? Whatever?
Speaker 4 (03:33):
He court? I got my kids doing that best now.
They heard doing this on the show.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
Dank, damn.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
I don't know why I do it, do it at all.
It's kind of funny. Like everything something something happens.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
It's like, dang, I think I heard you doing We
just started all doing it.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
It's so dumb, so stupid. My kids hit me when
it yesterday. I was like, wait, hold on, well you're
supposed to be sleep not damn. Dang the.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Who cares about be honest? I mean, who really gives
a rip?
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Now?
Speaker 1 (04:11):
By the way, let me just ask you a fun
question to get things started. Would you guys watch Wimbledon
if he knew every one of those players was on
the gas?
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Would you want you're obsession with the gas like it?
I'd watch it to still watch it. I mean, honestly,
how do you know they're not?
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Yeah, that's very true.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
All right, well I'll just pretend they are.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
That's very true. I would I would watch if Wimbledon
was full contact tennis. That's what I would watch. You know,
if at any point in time, like like in hockey,
you know, like a moment in time, like something happens,
there's a bad call by the judge and then you
go pull the judge out of their seat and then
you just start, you know, going at it, you know, yeah, fighting.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Give a spinebuster right off that chair, Suplex, What do
you here? Is that like a lifeguard chair? That there
like a life guard chair, right?
Speaker 4 (05:05):
I feel like if it was some type of fool
contact that took place, like go at it with your
your your racket or something like that, I would watch. Yeah,
I certainly, like there's always one in every sport. If
you had that one dude or that one lady that
was like you know what, they're valent, I'm watching that one.
That's the match I'm watching right there. For sure. For sure,
(05:28):
there's going to be a fisticuffs in this one. This
match here. I know it's supposed to be gentlemanly and
and and womanly and all that stuff, but I would
want to see some heathenism take place and and and
some fighting.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Great, thank you, yeah, I mean this and that's what
made John McEnroe great.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
I mean maybe something some thigh high maybe, yeah, that
helped too, yeah, I agree. Well I'm stopping there though.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Yeah yeah, from center court to the NBA court. Oh no,
where man oh man. Second round picks are getting introduced
in the NBA all of a sudden, and that second
round pick is Bronnie James, pick number fifty five, but
got the full treatment yesterday along with Dalton connect from
(06:17):
the Los Angeles Lakers. And here's a little Bronnie James
while being introduced to the media talking about the pressure
he feels going into this upcoming season.
Speaker 7 (06:28):
For sure, the amplified amount of pressure. I've already seen
it stuff media and stuff on it and the internet
and stuff talking about I might not deserve an opportunity,
but you know, I've been dealing with stuff like this
for my whole life. So it's it's it's nothing different,
but it's it's it's more amplified, for sure.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
But I can get through it.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
So because it's true, you've been dealing with for your
entire life. Because it's true.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
People keep saying it.
Speaker 6 (06:58):
I don't know why.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
Let's see, let's let's think about this. Why are they
saying it? Everybody for your entire life.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
So one of the looks like a duck if it
walks like a duck wax like a.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
That's what they say.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
So according to uh Woj in ESPN and those guys,
they're saying that the Lakers and Bronni's representative, Rich Paul
of Clutch Sports, they've discussed a multi year contract that
would assure him one of LA's fifteen full fledged roster spots.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Sources told ESPN assured, Yeah, but I've been hearing this
all my life. You know, don't worry, don't worry about it.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
You know what, you know what's great about the Lakers.
He's not top fifty four in the draft, but he's
top fifty on our team.
Speaker 6 (07:46):
Damn.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Okay, Well, you'd almost wonder if there's not going to
be a grievance that's going to be filed at some
point with a player who doesn't make the roster. I
feel like you almost wonder if we're really being serious
about this. If you're a player who's on that roster,
you've got prior NBA experience, and you're cut, you're released,
(08:12):
you don't make it because he does. There's an element
of like, well, how's he able to sign a contract
that you know automatically puts him on the team. I
guess that's kind of how contracts work, but it feels
like there's something else going on here. It's a little
more fishy. And I guess at the end of the day,
any NBA team can do whatever they want. They can
(08:34):
make the poorest decision or the best decision. However we
want to talk about it on the outside, and that's
their own prerogative. But I do feel like for some
of those players, they've got to be frustrated because it
has a lot more to do with Lebron than it
does Wait, which, by the way, has he signed his
extension yet?
Speaker 4 (08:54):
Yeah? So no, he's wonder why.
Speaker 6 (08:56):
Wonder if maybe you can hold that over the Lakers head.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
Until he gets Yeah, it's just the whole thing.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
It's just such a clown.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
I mean, there's the conversation man, me and Plex had
it on Saturday. I guess they haven't yeah, straight stretch,
Why why haven't they announced if he's playing in summer
League or not. I don't know if that's that's coming
out point, but they have made it a point to like,
is he going to play summer League? Like, well, why
(09:24):
wouldn't he play summer league? Why is this even a
debate or a conversation, but there's actually the conversation that
Brownie James might not play in the Summer League, which
to me, if that, if you want to talk about
keeping things under wraps, like trying to keep the truth
from from the people, why would you not have him
play in the summer league if you want to create
(09:47):
some justification on the pick letting ball out in the
summer league.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
I would be shocked if he's not playing in the
Summer League.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
I mean, it would be the first time ever I
believe in the history of the NBA Summer League that
a draft didn't play in the summer League.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
If he doesn't play, is that an admission that they're
hiding in Yes.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
Jeez, don't you think you can't. You can't hide players
in summer league. That's for them. That league is for them.
It's gonna skip the line. Yeah, we're just not gonna
play like this one time. We just go ahead like, nah,
he don't need it, Bronnie, don't need it.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
I just I almost wish that we get to the
point to where he's playing. And I'm more I find
myself rooting for him more and more because if it,
if he looks so bad. I'm gonna feel terrible for
him because there's no way, like as much as he's
been given advantages and all this stuff, like deep down,
(10:42):
he's got to know like, man, if I get exposed
like this, there's no turning back, like the whole thing.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
I mean, But he can't control that. You're putting him
out there with professional ball play. He can't control that.
We've seen his body of work. Hey, why you can
say the Kig has talent and can play. There's a
lot of guys out there that have talent that can
(11:08):
play that don't play at the professional level. And there's
a reason why, right, I mean, it just is what
it is. He can't control what's gonna happen from what
I can't gather the information that I've I've seen they're
talking about there, they're gonna they're gonna, uh nationally televise
every single game that Brownie plays in. You think you
(11:31):
you think, don't you want to see it?
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Is he gonna play? Is the question?
Speaker 4 (11:37):
Is he gonna play?
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (11:39):
And I got a funny feeling. I got a funny
feeling he's gonna get a couple of minutes.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
You know, I don't know why, Like, I think that's
that's probably gonna go.
Speaker 6 (11:47):
I would think if I was, though, would you want
to earn it for yourself? Would you?
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Wouldn't that be the fastest way where you kind of
call off your dad or your pops if he's calling
the shots or whoever, and say, no, I want to
play summer league. I want to showcase what I can do.
You know, I want to prove to people I'm able
when I'm capable of playing in this league. And that's
I think the tough part is even even going through
(12:12):
the the draft, picks, selection, everything else, there's elements of it.
Speaker 6 (12:17):
I wonder what the internal conversation would.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Be because there's there comes a certain point where you know,
maybe dad always knows what's best, but the child might
be saying like no, like let me earn my own path.
Like if I don't get drafted, I don't get drafted,
then I could stile with L A l A Pops.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
You know, That's how I looked at it, and that
that was where that's that's perfectly put because that's that's
the perspective I was coming from the entire time, and
that's why I said, why he's not as short a
drafts or a roster spot if he gets free agent
picked up so by by drafting him. I guess that's
(12:55):
kind of a conversation that has has come about since
the draft because to me, I don't think anybody has
an issue if it happens that way, if he goes
undrafted and and the Lakers pick him up make the team,
Nobody has a problem with that. Nobody, like some people
will have criticisms, Oh, he only made the team because
(13:16):
so what at that point?
Speaker 1 (13:17):
So it's like a walk on who gets rewarded a scholarship.
Everybody's happy for Okay, but you drafted him.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
Hey, you got Chris Paul saying don't take him because
he's going to go to Australia if you're drafted, Like,
why Rich Paul?
Speaker 6 (13:34):
That analgy though, let's go back to that analogy.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
A walk on has earned it. A walk on has
in order to earn a scholarship. It's not just kidd
because they practice hard. A walk on in special teams
on offense or defense has proven in a live game scenario.
Speaker 6 (13:53):
They've already proven it. They've earned their stripes for a
year or two.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
Maybe three, they've earned it.
Speaker 6 (14:00):
They've already proven it and then they get that scholarship.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
That's true.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
That's the difference.
Speaker 6 (14:05):
Like this isn't like, hey, he's an undrafted guy.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
He finds his way on the rosstrafted, playing great in
the summer League and everything else for the season, and
then plays a few minutes enough well enough to actually
make the team for the following season. That's not how
this is working out. This is like that escalated I'm
walking as it takes you right to your gate to
take off in the.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
Plane's sweet which, by the way, JJ Reddick got the
same treatment.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
I was wondering if that guy who's at the JJ
Reddick press conference, oh, I love this guy.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Love I mean you know, I was gonna say, because
you guys got a lot of balls. Man coming in
here questioning whether or not Bronnie James has earned it,
when JJ Reddick will clearly tell you here how he
earned this spot with Leasee.
Speaker 8 (14:49):
Du rob and I did not give Bronnie anything. Bronnie
has earned this. Bronnie talks about his hard work. Bronnie
has earned this through hard work, and for us prioritizing
player development, we view Bronnie as like case study one
because his base level of feel, athleticism, point of attack, defender, shooting, passing.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
There's a lot to like about his.
Speaker 8 (15:15):
Game, and as we sort of build out our player
development program holistically, he's going to have a great opportunity
to become an excellent NBA player.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
That's not untrue.
Speaker 6 (15:27):
Well, hold on, for sakes, here's what I keep going
back to.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Six one and a half. Yeah, for a good Like,
I'm not saying you can't be a good defender six
one and a half. It's really hard to be a
good defender though, when you're one of the shortest players
in the league. Who is the guarden, Well, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
I mean how many, don't matter.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
How many point guards, how many shooting guards are his
height or below.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
It's not that many.
Speaker 6 (15:57):
That's one of the toughest things about basketball.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Where I remember when I was in high school, I
was like six four and I played some AU stuff.
But you looked around and you're like, he's six y
four is not that's tall. You look at the NBA
guys like you got guys who are six six, six ' eight.
It's a huge, huge advantage. There's really not much you
can do about it. And so whatever he's displayed as
(16:22):
a defender in the one year at Southern cal is
one thing.
Speaker 6 (16:25):
Drills and all that, that's that's one thing.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
But at six one and a half, that's it's gonna
be difficult for him to match up. I'm about six
y four. You know what I do it to someone
who's sixty one six one and a half. I take
him in the post is used lated put him down
to the post. I've got enough height and advantage that, like,
you'll be able to get to the rim, You'll be
able to get an easy bucket that way. I mean,
I imagine his mismatch on playing against if they do a
(16:49):
pick and roll, if they switch, can't switch, You're gonna
put him on a six foot ten guy, huge disadvantage.
Speaker 6 (16:56):
So like that's some of the other things.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
And I'm not saying that there's not you know, guys
of around his height in the league who make it happen.
But usually guys who are six foot one, six foot
one and a half. They have extraordinary talent somewhere else. Yes,
lights out, knockdown shooter. Has Brony been that not even close?
Speaker 4 (17:12):
That's the key, the key.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
He even shoot forty from the field.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Well, does he shoot enough to get any type of
forty percent from the field. I mean, if it was
forty percent from the field, he'd probably be like out
of like three four shots. I mean, an a ain't
shoot much to get a high percentage. You got guys
like Mike Conley. He's he's six foot but he moves
like a flee like he's quick and he can't And look.
Speaker 6 (17:37):
At Mike Connley's resume coming out of.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
I mean he's one of the top guys coming out.
He's a top guy. You got Jayleen Brunson, he's six
to two. You got you got guys who are around
that hike. But listen to the names I'm telling you,
like Jalen Brunson.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Like okay, okay, you want if you wanted to find
a second rounder, Isaiah Thomas, not you know, the original
Isaiah Thomas. But Isaiah Thomas was drafted by Sacrato. I
think he was.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
I think he was the.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Last pick of this of the NBA draft, and he
came out and had a really good career. He was
an undersized guy, but he could score. Like at his site.
He figured out a way and to go back to
the resume point, he was unbelievable in college, like there
was you know, Jes.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Didn't Mike Conley win. He only played one year's a
one and done. And then they win a national championship.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
I went to the final I think or the final
four with Greg Odin with Greg.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Yeah, like, here's the fourth overall pick, jaylen Brun said.
Then they win win at Villodova.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
Yes, yes they did.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
It's like you're talking about dudes who are coming off
of it. I mean, Southern Cow was as bad as
it could be last year in basketball.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
And Isaiah Thomas, he put on a show at the
Pac ten tournament or Pac twelve tournament back then. So
like he, like you, there was a body of work
pack two.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Yes, something packed something.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
It's just a pack.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
I just know that Tupac. I just know this. His
heart work, his feel for the game, all those things
that Reddick sit. It's not it's not inaccurate, it's it's
not a lie. It's just that by saying that his
heart work and his feel and his understanding of that
(19:21):
you know, certain aspects of the game, that still does
not qualify nor justify the pick, because there are a
lot of guys out there that work their asses off.
You could use that terminology for a lot of guys
out there that have more of a resume than what
Bronnie James has.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
I would almost respect it more if they just came
out and said, yeah, we think it's a good story.
I want to see him play with his dad, sweet
and he's gonna stay, and you know what, I.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Would almost respect him more of they just said, yeah,
we're doing this to keep Lebron. We're doing to keep
Lebron because because I forget, forget the story, forget the story.
Speaker 6 (19:59):
It's a great story. It's it's Hallmark.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
You know, they can come up with their own story
or whatever, much like they don't want the Kansas City
Chiefs n that'd be cute.
Speaker 6 (20:05):
Can you see Christmas with.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
The James fan It's it's, you know, Lebron and Bronni.
They're coming back from after you know, long road trips,
seeing what happens on the NBA road trips back for Christmas.
So that works out. But I look at it and say,
if you just came out and said, we feel like
we need Lebron James, we want Lebron James to be
here through the end of his career. We want him
to retire a Laker. That is like, oh, all right,
(20:30):
well whoever playing paying you know, Pam Brownie. Whatever it means,
it doesn't matter, right because we've seen that on other
teams where Giannis and his brothers on the on the bucks,
and you know there's other examples of that. That's the
one that makes the most sense. It's about our superstar.
It's about making him happy, allowing him to come back, okay.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
And no problem at all. But it's the whole song
and dance and the dog and pony show of well,
you know, it's the hard work, and it's like.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
Come on, dude, are you force some Ronnie James. I
have to answer questions that this shouldn't have to fall
on him. This shouldn't have to be the pressure he
has to deal with.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Like, don't crap on my plate and tell me it's
an apple fritterer. Okay, dang, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
He talked about me like this my entire life. Oh,
it's got your dad. But your dad been putting the
best players around you your entire life. And then quite frankly,
you you did one thing, one thing at USC, one year,
one thing at US see and now you you a
fifty to fifth draft pick in the second round of
the NBA Draft. I mean, dreams come true. Yeah, dreams
(21:34):
do come true.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Oh man, it is Two Pros and a Cup of
Joe here on Fox Sports Training.
Speaker 4 (21:39):

bad about your daddy. Your daddy beget out of here.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
Two pros and a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio,
keep them coming in. LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox
with you coming up in we'll call it a little
over fifteen minutes from now from the Tirack dot Com studios.
There's gonna be something missing from your fourth of July
and we have finally found it. We will get into
that for you again, coming up here again a little
(23:26):
over fifteen minutes from now here on FSR. So, yeah,
you guys want it? WHOA and you got it. Whoa,
we got an Aaron Rodgers update, and away we go.
According to Connor Hughes of SNY, Aaron Rodgers missed those
mandatory mini camp days because of a pre planned trip
to Egypt. He booked the trip in the midst of
(23:49):
his achilles recovery to give him something to look forward to.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
Well, you wanted to get that therapy, put his foot
in that sand. Yes, that good. That's that good therapeutic sc.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
He believed the dates would be after the Jets offseason programs.
Multiple players who were reached out to by S and
Y had zero issue with it because of his attendance
during the voluntary portion of the off season. And then
this from the article, which is kind of interesting. Hysteria
for Rogers whereabouts emerge, largely because of the way the
absence was announced. From the Jets perspective, they did not
(24:21):
want to set a precedent of players missing mandatory workouts
for pre planned trips. Easy for me to say so.
While they were aware of Roger's trip and understanding of
why it was important to him, their public stance on
the matter gave the impression they were not and discounted
Rogers near perfect attendance throughout the voluntary.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
Portion of the off season program.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
So away we go with the it's the messaging and
it was them and not me with the Aaron Rodgers
situation in New York. I mean, I still think they're
going to be fine. Listen, there'll be a playoff team.
This is going to be water under the bridge. So
no issue here, tho.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
But why do you have to say that's so sarcastically?
What do you make if you say something, stand on it.
I mean, LaVar obviously is not. I believe in the Jets.
I'm saying that, where do you stand?
Speaker 1 (25:09):
I already told you I stand on the Jets. They're
gonna be a playoff team.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
Already said it. He gave it in a sarcastic tone.
But I was with you though, I understood where.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
You was at it, because I just think at the
end of this whole thing, we're going to look back
and go, oh, yeah, he missed those two days.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
I'm not going to look back and say, oh he
missed those two days. I'm not going to look back
on that at all. I'm just going to look at
y'all and and just be like, you know, hey, you
know I told y'all. You know, I like being I'm
a sore war that guy.
Speaker 6 (25:38):
I am very often. But when you do you do that.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
Yeah, that's why I take full advantage, full advantage. No,
it might not happen very often, but them one times
that it hit Pam, you best believe I'm gonna make
sure I get every every bit of it.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
You are going to be pro.
Speaker 4 (26:01):
I'm here to tell you they.
Speaker 6 (26:04):
Jets.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Hey, look, look, hold on a second. I made some
comments the Jets fans a few years back.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
And go over well, did not go over it.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Here's the best part about that? Well, yeah, there's that
which I don't care about. I literally tried to get
people to donate to charity. Who are Jets fans with me?
When the Jets won? All right?
Speaker 6 (26:29):
I ended up donating five thousand dollars to charity various
various charities of Jets fans choices.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Like people would reach out to our podcast I was
doing and they would say, hey, this is a great charity,
you know, please donate or please put this on the
list of charities to donate. And we spoke to some
of the charities, They're like, yeah, we got a few
of the people to tag on here there, But there
was really no one who I was like, well, okay,
I get it. Because the season fell off a cliff.
(26:58):
There's probably a lot of Jets fans who are frustrated
and wanted to spend their money on.
Speaker 6 (27:03):
Booze, as Jonas would say, as opposed to like helping
out people, you know, helping out animals.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
And the various charities we supported. But I'm telling you
right now, you're getting into it with a very fickle
fan base, so be careful what you wish for. My
opinion has nothing to do with the fan base, so
I could care less. It has more to do with Rogers.
Like Rogers healthy elevates this roster, this team to me
(27:31):
to be a top ten team in the NFL, and
that's obviously good enough to get into the playoffs, unless
we're saying there's you know, you know, eight teams ahead
of them or seven teams ahead of them that are
in the AFC. Right as far as how how the
playoffs work now, but that's that's where I kind of
see the Jets this year. I just think what we
(27:52):
saw last year and Brice Hall back healthy, the additions
to deal line everything else, that to me is good enough.
Speaker 6 (28:00):
For this team to compete and this team to be.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
Able to because some of the losses last yer, it's more,
you know, game management, you know turnovers, just staying on
a field, converting on third down, getting points, getting something
instead of you know, different turnovers or different mistakes that
were made. Because they have the bones of what could
be a playoff team, they just had a quarterback to
lead him there.
Speaker 6 (28:20):
He is that guy. There's no doubt in my mind.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
Right there were seven and ten team last year, and
the difference between seven and ten and a ten and
seven or eleven and sixteen that goes to the playoffs,
there's a couple of games that go your way with
better quarterback play. So with all that being said, there's
a reason why if you go to DraftKings to make
the playoffs, they're a minus one sixty. They're favored to
(28:44):
make the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Seven and ten last year, you said, yeah, seven and
ten the year before. Would you not argue on thirteen?
The different I don't give they got that culture. It's
the same culture, different quarterback, same culture. Aaron Rodgers cannot
overcome bad culture. He can't. I don't care. I don't
(29:07):
get into Tom Brady, I don't. I don't give me
any name. They're not going to overcome culture.
Speaker 6 (29:14):
Let me give you this step. How many touchdown passes?
Speaker 2 (29:17):
LeVar? Do you think the Jets quarterbacks collectively last year
through four?
Speaker 7 (29:20):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (29:21):
Can I play too? I swear to God him on
the seventeen, I will say.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Twenty one eleven.
Speaker 4 (29:35):
That a bismal sheez.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
I So think about that for seven wins for eleven
touchdown passes.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
By the way, didn't Nick Foles throw seven in a
game one time?
Speaker 6 (29:49):
Was that what you as the quarterback of the Eagles. Yeah,
people tend to forget dude.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
And I had this conversation with Sam Bradford because he'd
played there. Obviously like Chip Kelly's system, whatever you want
to say about Chip Kelly, quarterbacks balled out.
Speaker 6 (30:03):
Guys put up some big.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Time stat nervous but I know, I know, I know
some guys could like have a great relationship with them.
Speaker 6 (30:10):
But the quarterbacks be balling.
Speaker 4 (30:13):
At that thing.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Yeah, that's a weird attention, but they got and they
got seven wins.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
I'm leaning on bad culture, so I'm going with it's
not he's not going to overcome bad culture.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
You don't think he would bring so good vibes from
Egypt over to oh yeah, what is it called one
Jets Drive? Is that where they're at?
Speaker 4 (30:37):
And he has no problem turning his attention towards the
front office as to what he sees is the problem.
So it won't be Aaron Rodgers that's the problem. Once
this season starts to go the way it's going to go,
it's going to be what I'm telling you, it's the
culture of that place, and he's going to call it
(30:57):
out because he ain't going with that attached to him, Like,
don't put this on Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
You know what's interesting about Aaron Rodgers is you know
when Tom Brady went to Tampa, they opened everything up
to him. They were running the offense. I'll kind of
he wanted to, right, They were bringing guys that he wanted.
They got you know, Gronk, they got a b They
got different players down there that he wanted, did they not? Yeah,
I mean he was kind of running things and it
(31:22):
feels like he never got this sort of attention and
negative way.
Speaker 7 (31:26):
No.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
Granted, I don't think he ever missed a mini camp
for Egypt. You know, he might have missed some other
points in time that I'm not recalling off the top
of my head, but like when he was in football,
he was in football, and no one's ever questioned his
desire and integrity to the sport. And it feels like
that's more what's at stake here is, you know, Aaron
Rodgers is such a different personality where he wants to,
(31:50):
you know, play the game of football at a high level,
but he also wants to you know, develop it as
a as a human being and how he sees the world,
and he wants people to know him for more than
just football. You know. I think Tom Brady always wants
to be looked at as like the greatest of all
time at football, and he is until someone else is
able to surpass his resume, and if it just it
(32:11):
feels like that's one of the biggest differences. Like maybe
it's an US problem, Like we on the outside don't
know how to view Aaron because he's so unique in
how he goes about viewing his life and how he's
gonna lead his life.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
I'm not I'm not in his business like that. Honestly,
we could talk about it. I'll talk about it, But
I have no problem with a man's personal acclivities as
to what it is that they have going on in
their lives. Honestly, I just look at the New York Jets.
I'm looking at the Jets and I'm saying they're not
going to win. I'm not looking at Aaron Rodgers and
(32:46):
saying they're not gonna win. I'm looking at the Jets.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
The other thing I would throw out there is and
LaVar you you know you and I played. By the
time I got to the league, I think even OTA's
and Mini Camp were somewhat paired down. I don't recall,
I can't. I don't like rookie Mini Camp. I think
we are padded in that and maybe Mini Camp first year.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
Or so, tops, right, tops, yeah, tops, But even that's
gone away, right, yeah, that's going away.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
Like That's the one thing I kind of keep going
back to is I don't know if it's that it's
not that big of a deal for a few reasons.
One for people out there who don't know OTAs, you
add all your installs, everything you do during OTAs, and
it's just the same thing over a three day period
for Mini camp.
Speaker 6 (33:30):
That's all it is. That's really all it is.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
And oftentimes the last day of mini camp really isn't anything.
It's like the first two days. So that's all it is,
is trying to take everything you did in the ota.
Is that kind of crunch it into you know, a
shortened you know, two day period where it's more team activities,
there's you know, whatever else going on. But it's really
not what it used to be, where you used to
(33:53):
be in pads and you used to be banging a
little bit more and actually get a more realistic idea.
And so I do wonder too if Rogers, he's you know,
playing in the league, they're guide him before I didn't
play longer than I did. If he looks at it
and says, yeah, I'm not really missing much. Like I've
had this plan for a while. I don't want to
try to move it. I'm gonna be riding a camel.
(34:13):
I don't know. Maybe I'm mean a pharaoh, who knows.
But there's also that element of it. We're like guys
are probably like, yeah, we're not really doing anything that
transformative here.
Speaker 6 (34:22):
You know, we're just having a couple more practices.
Speaker 4 (34:25):
And next stop the playoffs. So get ready, bar.
Speaker 1 (34:29):

sports or entertainment.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
Good thing.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
The guys are here to bring you in case you
missed it, and.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
I would turn it over to our executive producer Leadgit Lap.
Speaker 10 (35:40):
Good morning everybody, Good morning, LeVar, Good morning Brady.
Speaker 4 (35:43):
Good morning Jonas, guys.
Speaker 10 (35:44):
In case you missed this Lap, I think we've all
heard that Joey Chestnut has been banned for the first
time in twenty years with the Nathan's Hotdog Eating contests. Hey, Brady, uh,
because of his partnership with Impossible Foods, the plant based
hot dog company. Well, he has revealed his new plans.
He's not going to be off at Coney Island. He's
going to be at Fort Bliss Andel Paso, Texas for
Independence Day, where he's going to take on four US
(36:06):
soldiers in a new hot dog eating contest.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
Well, that stream anywhere.
Speaker 4 (36:11):
I have not been able to find that. I've been
looking for that. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
I'd love to see what the numbers are between that
and the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. He's the star
of the event and they pull this crap. He's a
slob though, I mean, if we're gonna be honest, he's filthy,
just disgusting.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
What he does with hot dogs.
Speaker 1 (36:30):
Just enjoy a hot dog. You don't have to shove
it in your mouth.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
Well, first off, you don't need hot dogs. Second, let's
just call what it is. You two are polar opposites.
You don't need food. He eats food. That's the fact.
Speaker 6 (36:41):
He eats mass quantities of food, one sitting.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
It's true. Hey, I had hot dogs when I was
in Chicago and I didn't put a condiment on it.
What do you think about that?
Speaker 4 (36:51):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (36:52):
Anyway, all right, I'm glad they've worked it out.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
What else you got, Lee?
Speaker 4 (37:00):
Guys?
Speaker 2 (37:01):
Even Lee's stories take a hit this time.
Speaker 10 (37:03):
My god, damn, I'm just playing what I got baby.
Speaker 4 (37:08):
It's forth of July.
Speaker 10 (37:10):
Pete is imploring the Cleveland Browns to do away with
their live mascot tradition. This following the death of their
five year old bowl mastuff mascot Swagger Junior, who just
tragically passed away. Peta, they're doing why well, they always
say that the practice of live mascots should be put away,
But they also are against certain kind of breeds of dogs,
(37:32):
including the bowl mastiffs. Uh, there's a there's a bully
in Georgia that just passed away not too long ago.
Pete is very much against that that breed of dog
as well.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Interesting, do you hear what what he just said?
Speaker 1 (37:45):
They're against bull mastiffs? Yeah, well yeah, I mean but
it's Peta. Like, if you're somebody from Peta, I just
want you, I hope you hear this. You suck, go
get a ribbi and get a personality. It's not our
problem that the dog. Okay, stuff happens, but he lived
a great life. Not everybody's a star. Sometimes you're just
(38:06):
a comet. He had a short time he was on
an NFL field and didn't have to pay for a
single ticket. Screw you, dweeves.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
Do you know how many like crossbred dogs there are
when it's all said and done. I mean he almost
like couldn't have I mean there's not many like pure
natural dog breeds anymore, Like they're all mixes of something
this So I mean, would you not want to have
a great dog owner with like some you know dog
as opposed to the alternative?
Speaker 4 (38:31):
Agreed? I just love how Pete has become so popular
where it's a it's just well it's left. I don't
know they're popular, No people know them geeks. I don't
even know who they what they look like. I don't
know one person and Pete. I just know Pete. That's popular.
