Happy fourth of July to you and yours.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Yeah, happy fourth there. Everyone be careful, yeah, well for
all your body parts.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
By the way, I do want to point out Justin Cooper,
who really makes the Sanford and Son live in studio
experience that much better. No, not to dismiss you know,
Rowdy Ian Roddy who's in uh In Lorena and Eddie.
But Coop really makes it go. I did hear from
Coop because he landed in Chicago last night and so
he's been asking me about certain places to go and

(03:35):
apparently that place for Fourth of July weekend is bananas.
So there's a lot going on with Coop. Hopefully it
makes it back live. But as you point out, be careful.
People just don't wait for the actual Fourth of July
to life fireworks anymore, do they.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
No, they don't.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Yesterday yesterday was a big fireworks day. My whole thing is,
whenever you light the fire works, just make sure you're
being very very careful and very very responsible. Like respect
the dynamite, you know what I mean, Like you always
have one that just for one reason or another. Could

(04:16):
be alcohol, could be just I've done this for years.
I've done this since I was a kid. Whatever it is,
you don't respect it the way that you're supposed to.
Something happens. Next thing you know, your whole face is
burnt off, or you know you done melted other body
parts off. I won't go there, but just just be careful,

(04:37):
be careful, have fun, but understand that you know that
that is that those that is dynamite. Basically, those are
explosives that you're dealing with.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Yes, it's like the words it. In La there was
like the swat team. They were they were trying to
get rid of They found like a truck full of
fireworks in a neighborhood and they were like, oh, we
got to get rid of these, so they sent like
the bomb squad out to blow it up, and they
literally blew up the neighborhood. Like they've got to pay
out like two point four million dollars in damages because

(05:07):
they're like, oh, yeah, maybe we don't blow up a
truck full of dynamite basically in the middle of the
neighborhood and think anybody's going to get out of there
without a scratch. But yeah, I just I don't get
the whole growing up, it was fourth of July. Was
fourth of July. You didn't cheat on the third, Okay.
It's like these people that do Christmas on Christmas Eve, No,

(05:29):
you wait till the twenty fifth. All right, enough's enough.
And I'm working on about an hour sleep because the
people in my neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods were lighting off
fireworks the entire night. Couldn't sleep. So I don't want
to hear a damn complaint in the world. If you
happen to hear Mariachi at a fifteen out of ten
volume at some point throughout the course of the week,

(05:51):
I don't want to hear a damn thing many of
those candy asses.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
I mean, I personally enjoy hair, the hair in the
band place, I.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Do too, But you know there's I just I don't
understand the And also, look, I understand I know that
people majority of people are off I mean nullivar and
I you know, we're just grinding away here.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
That's what we do. You know, hard work.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Somebody's got to deliver to the people. Man, damn right,
what it is that they're looking for. And you know,
I'll take off when the time is right to take off,
which is when Jonas knocks up.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
But Jonas is in, I'm going to be in. Well
that's how it works.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
We were talking about this yesterday. So how it works
is our tax season, so to speak, is football season,
all right, So there's a reason why you'll hear fill
in hosts and things like that throughout this time of year,
because once football hits, it's over, like like yeah, that's uh,
it is what it is, and you're going to be
inundated with work and football stories and all that, because

(06:50):
that's really the busy time of year. So there's going
to be time that we'll be off throughout the next
you know, month or so or a couple of months.
But as a stand right now, we are sweating away
here on a fourth of July. And to your point,
everybody be safe out there, all right, because I just
I heard some fireworks that were going off that did
not sound like you're run of the mill piccolo peets

(07:12):
or sprinklers right out.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Back, like the real ones right out and everybody, and
they like these the.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
Dudes, and listen, I get it, I get it, guys,
the dudes that get a hold of them real fireworks,
show fireworks like the ones that make your kids cry
when you take them for the first time and all that.
And it really does sound like bombs, you know, bursting
in the air and stuff like that. Dogs freak out, everybody.
Everything is just bad. It's just all bad, like boom boom,

(07:41):
boom boom, boom boom.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Like whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa whoa.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
Dudes brag about having those, They brag about having the
real ones. I don't know if y'all, if y'all know
about firework culture, but there's always the ones that get
a hold of packages that have the real fireworks at them,
not the home, the home take home, you know, fireworks

(08:06):
where it's like oh ah, yeah, we're going to light
something out in the street. Okay, No, they are setting
up real fireworks.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Looked like they did a sting operation uh in La
I think this week and found the people were disguising fireworks,
trying to say it was something else. It's like a
guy had like it was a Roman candle box and
inside was basically everything they used on the set.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Of Die Hard.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Like you can't like you, I don't get it, honest
to god, I don't understand.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
And it's a lot of these people.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Are doing this like in kind of close quarters, like
not out in the middle of a field somewhere, not
out in the middle of like you know, hey, listen,
we're away.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
From the back Yeah, literally, it's your backyard.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Understing what are we doing here? There was the video
that came out last year or the year before where
like these kids and these parents, like you know, because
as you pointed out, you've got the douchey dads that
want to show off their fireworks. And so they've got
a box of fireworks and they want to light them off.
And there's literally kids running around the front yard and

(09:12):
one of the fireworks started firing.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
All they were literally underseat, like hiding under lawn chairs.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
Grab their daughters, sons, everything they can grab. Grandmoms can't
move quick enough.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
They getting hit.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
But mom's holding up a power wheel as like as
like a shield disaber protective kids.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
It happens every year somebody does something and sid and
the other way.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
The other thing too is that they'll be like the
box with the rest of the fireworks and one of
the ones that they're lighting off hits.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
The box and lights the rest of them up.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
And it's next to a car and the gas and
the gas on the car.

Speaker 5 (09:50):
And that's been on videos too that have gone viral.
Wear the hands into the car, blew the car up.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Like and there look firework culture to your father, I
I know some people I won't. I'll just see somebody
that used to work here. Okay, They would go across
state line to get fireworks, the real one. Yes, yes,
like drive to Nevada to get at some place across
state line to get real fireworks and pack the trunk

(10:17):
of their car. And they we're telling hundreds of dollars
just to blow them up.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
Hey, bruh, it'd be more than hundreds of dollars just
so we clear them ones. Dont cats that'd be getting
a hold of them real fireworks. They'd be spending more
than one hundred dollars because it's their flex. I don't
get it. I really don't. I don't get why that's
your flex. Is that you you got the best, you know,
air quotes, the best fireworks, but it's a flex.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Did did you hear the story about I shouldn't laugh
at this, but whatever. You can't hear me? Do you
hear the story about, uh, that dude in Maine a
few years ago? So there's this guy in Maine.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
I'd hear me.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Well, yeah, you'll know why in a minute. Him and
his buddy went out to like the field in Maine
and they bought like these, like legitimate, full fledged five
alarm fireworks like these, those mortar bombs that that sound
like you're in the middle of like yeah, in quick
so so this this rocket scientist thought, you know what,

(11:17):
here's a good idea. Why don't I rip like an
eighteen pack and then go out in the middle of
a field and I'm gonna set this on my head
and you light it. Yeah, yeah, just just to you
know how the story ended. Oh, I'll just put it
this way. Next time they go to Disneyland, he ain't
getting on any rides, I'll put it. Yeah, he doesn't
reach the height limit. That's that's the brilliance of some

(11:40):
of the people out there that are lighting this stuff off.
So just be safe, everybody.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
Like just.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
I'm telling you there, it's just a weird thing. People
love to blow stuff up. And they don't even wait
for the fourth anymore. They don't the third and let
me tell you something, the Oh yeah, we still got
stuff left over.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Let's light up.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
Oh my god, absolutely, yeah, right that careful out there.
All jokes aside. Yeah, what we're telling you guys is
just be careful.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Man.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
That's why when some of these soccer fans and other
countries bring like flare guns to games and like they
start fires, and people are like, oh god, what's wrong
with those people?

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Oh my god, Bro Johnson, we we do this every year.
This is every flair gun. Oh my god, every year
this happens. So somebody's going to get hurt.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Well, listen, you will.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Shoot your eye out.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Hopefully not, but if they do Riverside, it is too prosy.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
It'll be okay.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Can you just explain so people understand what the joke is?
Can you just explain Riverside.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
Somebody falls in a pala heap, a heap of just
banged up like knees, fingers, shoulders, concussions, you name it,
cardiac arrests.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
It don't matter.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
If a player goes down, you called the trainer trainer,
and then you know you got to continue to practice.
So you say riverside, which means everybody turns their back
to where the person that's injured is and you take
the you take the period, you take the drill, you
take the practice away from where the person that's down

(13:32):
on the ground.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
So disrespectful, like Lily, no car, what we gotta finish practice? Hey,
we got special teams in five minutes Riverside.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
Riverside's great.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
I tell you what's even crazier is if that person
were to fall in the middle of that practice field,
you couldn't for some reason, you couldn't riverside it, next field,
next filled.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Over, next filled over.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
When you and Brady told me that story, Literally, I
use it all the time in situations that nobody gets it.
Like I'll be at home with my wife and like,
my you know, a plate will drop and it'll break,
and she'll be like, oh great, the plate broke.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
I don't tell you.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Hey, it's like, hey, the lettuce from bad we can't
have salad tonight, riverside Like she doesn't understand. She just
thinks it's a a city in California. But that's one
of my favorite terms, so that you guys have taught me.
But nonetheless, we'll have more fun stuff throughout the course
of this show. It is going to be a Thursday edition,
which means we're gonna have another edition of in case

(14:37):
you missed it. We've also got you any of you
at the close up shop. We've also got a special
over unders for you here on a Thursday, a holiday edition.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
If you will.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
All that is yours here on this three hour extravaganza
on the fourth of July. But coming up next here
from the Tirak dot com studio, somebody in the NFL
has got high praise for the future of one quarterback.
We'll tell you who it is. That's next steer from
the tyrack dot com studios.

Speaker 2 (15:02):

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Ah, this Drake used to be.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
That's not to me.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
For Kendrick Oh it used to be Drake.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Yeah, I heard he can't even stand anymore. Dang damn,
I have no idea what who won the battle?

Speaker 9 (16:14):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Was it a ten eight? K didn't go well Drake? Yeah,
he went ready for that fight, that's all right.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Well, you know, Kendrick Lamar is like five five that
if that.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Yeah, but he was a giant in that in that
rap battle.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Yeah. Well, I just hope everybody, uh, you know, it
doesn't escalate any further, you know, based on some of
the stuff that's happened, you know past well, you know,
even in that one I heard, you know, there was
a security guard who might have might have caught one
and really, yeah, there was a fight at a club
because people in Canada were pissed off about Drake losing.

(16:57):
And so you know it's fun, you know, fun to
watch until that stuff happens and then we see how
it goes. But it is two pros and a cup
of Joe. Here on Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Jonas
Knox with you coming up in about twenty minutes from now.
Somebody's got some explaining to do in the world of sports,
some real explaining to do based on and you know,

(17:18):
if you want to call it poor parenting, You could
do that as well too, But we will get into
that discussion for you again coming up about twenty minutes
from now. So our friends listening statewide in Wisconsin, they're
really optimistic about this upcoming season for the Green Bay Packers.
Somebody else who's also optimistic is the brand new Packers
running back Josh Jacobs. He spoke recently about the Packers

(17:41):
starting quarterback Jordan Love and what he sees his future looking.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Like, which is so special.

Speaker 10 (17:45):
When you got a guy like Jordan Love back there, man,
and you can't really just load the box every play
and you make defenses disard you know what they want
to stop. I think that's gonna be the biggest help
for me this year.

Speaker 9 (17:56):
You know, it's the second time you've mentioned Jordan Love
and a guy like that back there. Give us your
impressions of Jordan Love from what you saw from him
in the spring.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
You've been around your shriff quarterbacks at this point.

Speaker 11 (18:06):
Seems like you're really impressed with what you've seen from
Jordan Love.

Speaker 10 (18:09):
Yeah, man, I mean to me, I mean, just from
what I see, he has all the traits and all
the tools to be a superstar in his league. I
think that, you know, as he keeps continue to play
and get experience and you know, grow confidence and more
and be become more confident in his abilities and what
he can do, He's going to be the next superstar
in this league.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
So so that was Josh Jacob's brand new Packers running
back talking with Mike Garry follows.

Speaker 5 (18:33):
But I used to have that type of confidence and
buy in, right, that's confidence and buy in from your.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Back, bro.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
If he ends up being as good as they think
he is, and like, I'm not sold yet, because yes,
he did finish off strong, and it was a promising
year and a promising conclusion to the season, other than
those terrible picks in the playoff game against the Niners,
a playoff game they probably should have won if we
should But if they end up hitting on another franchise

(19:04):
slash Hall of fame quarterback again, we're talking like four
decades of franchise slash Hall of fame quarterback play. The
only other comp that I can think of in the NFL,
and you would know this because you grew up a
Steelers fan, is the Steelers' ability to identify a head coach.
Oh yeah, like, so they've got what three head coaches

(19:25):
since the sixties, The Packers are going to have three
starting quarterbacks since the mid nineties. Two already are Hall
of Famers and have won Super Bowls and the other
one based on everything that you hear Josh Jacobs included
is gonna is the goods and going to be a
franchise guy and has everything to look forward to.

Speaker 5 (19:44):
And they seemingly love the same stops after they leave
Green Bay. Yeah, like I'm strange reasons.

Speaker 3 (19:49):
Yeah, they like go to the Jets and they get.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
On people's nerves at the end of their careers. Yes,
I don't know. They can to do everything the same.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
You know, for different reasons, different reasons, right.

Speaker 5 (19:59):
Different reasons, but you know, nonetheless still kind of the same. Listen,
I thought Jordan Love figured it out last year. That's
what what I'll say. Like it, it appeared that he
arrived in terms of what his potential in his capabilities
can be. He outclassed Dallas in in the playoffs and listening,

(20:23):
a lot of it had to do with the running game,
a lot of it had to do with Aaron Jones,
which I'm sure Josh Jacobs is super ecstatic about that
the running back has such a role, an established role
in that Green Bay Packers offense. But a lot of
it had to do with passes, you know, a lot

(20:45):
of it had to do with timely passes. He delivered
in the clutch down the stretch of the season. He
just he delivered continuously, and I think that his confidence.
You could see that his confidence was growing. You could
see that he was just kind of morphing into what
we considered to be need I say, a franchise quarterback.

(21:09):
Oh my god, man, yeah, So I listen. First, I
was like, is he throwing shade at at Vegas? You know,
at the Raiders, because they still, for all intentsive purposes,
are still looking seeking that quarterback that could take them
to the next level, whether it was car or not.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
And he didn't have enough time. I don't know. I
think he had enough time.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
I think we knew what we were going to get
out of out of Car at quarterback for for you know,
for the Raiders. But just to hear him sound so
invigorated and excited and happy, it came across as genuine
Joona's a lot of times you get you know, you
get the whole tongue in cheek. I'm here, I'm on

(21:57):
this team, and I'm not going to say anything bad
about my quarterback. You know, That's kind of how I
felt about Tua and the Cheetah. I felt like that
was cap Like, I think Tua is good, but to
leave and be like, ay, he's more accurate than Patrick
Mahomes and this and that and that, I'm like, man,
that's cap man, Like, you say what you want to say,

(22:18):
but don't, like, just be careful on your own reputation
comparing a guy to Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
Like, granted, you guys have done pretty well, but I
ain't done what Patty's done, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
So, but here, I feel like there's some real legitimacy.
There's some real honesty here and a real belief and
a real feeling that this is what his quarterback is
and what he's going to be and what things are
going to look like.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
And I don't think that until they prove.

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Like you said, maybe there's not enough of a body
of work to think that we should expect this this
Green Bay Packer team to make a push for a
Super Bowl run.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
But I you what, they made a Super Bowl run.

Speaker 5 (23:03):
They did make a Super Bowl run, and you know what,
I'm not so sure that it doesn't look like this
is a sustainable situation as it applies to the Green
Bay Packers with Aaron Love, Jordan Love, excuse me at quarterback.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
You can't understand as you pointed out what they did
to Dallas, dismantled them like that, and that's his first
playoff game and.

Speaker 5 (23:28):
The defense was involved, but make no mistake about it,
the offense came out and they If you thought that
the Dallas Cowboys defense needed to make one stand in
the playoffs for this team to get to where they
were trying to go, it would have been that game.

(23:48):
Take advantage of that game with the young quarterback, and
they weren't able to do it. They were not able
to do it.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
And look, you know, we talked about that game obviously
and have pointed it out because that was the question
mark for Mike McCarthy. Why would you bring him back
the way they look that game? It was I mean,
there was also, if we're going to be fair about it,
dan Quinn, there was also a lot of question marks
like what the hell was that? Like he like he's
been praised for being as great as he was, and
they got carved up by a guy in his first

(24:17):
playoff game on the road and goes and does that.
And I also think this as well too, there's got
to be a little bit of I told you so
from Matt Lafleor, because the thought on Matt Lafleur was, well, yeah,
I mean, he's got Rogers. I mean, you know, he
got the job. It was maybe a little bit of
a surprise that he got the job because people looked

(24:38):
at it and said, you know, he was an OC
for a year in Tennessee. Why is he getting the gig?
And you know, without Rogers, now we're going to see well.
I mean I think he did pretty well all things considered.
And with Jordan Love, first year starter, goes to the playoffs,
they beat Dallas the way that they do, and then
they're winning that game against the Night It took some

(25:01):
great plays and clutch play from the Niners in order
to get back in that game and win that game,
and Green Bay still had an opportunity down the stretch
to try and close him out on the road. So
if you're the Packers, you got to come away from
last year saying yeah, maybe we need to see a
little bit more before we guarantee that he's our guy
for the next decade plus. But that's a hell of

(25:22):
a start. Man like, you can't ask for much more
than that.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
You can't.

Speaker 5 (25:27):
You can't, And I'll say that what you can ask
for a little bit more or much more is that
he actually improves upon what he did last year. If
you see him take definitive steps forward this year and
not take them backwards. Because we have seen backwards steps, right,

(25:47):
We've seen Trevor Lawrence take steps back where we thought that, okay,
he's heading towards being a bona fide franchise guy.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
He hasn't solidified that yet.

Speaker 5 (26:00):
And there was a moment in time where we were
really high on some of the things that he was
able to accomplish and do since being in the league.
So you're kind of like, you're not looking at Trevor
Lawrence as well. This is a year of dominance that's
coming about for Trevor Lawrence. You're wondering what Trevor Lawrence
you're going to get, and that's you know, this is

(26:23):
that moment in time for Jordan Love, where can you
create the consistency you know, is this what we should
come to expect. I mean, at times we've seen the
best of the best play poorly, but make no mistake
about it, they find a way to still play at an.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
Elite level year in and year out.

Speaker 5 (26:44):
Like we said, this was a vulnerable year for Patrick
Mahomes and they still found a way in a vulnerable
year to win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
That's what bona fide like. And listen, he's one of one.

Speaker 5 (26:58):
So it's not like I'm trying to impair Jordan Love
to Patrick Mahomes, but he is the new standard of
which measurement is which basing you know what an elite
quarterback with a franchise quarterback at the top of the payramid,
what that looks like. And so it's it's a legitimate
comparison in terms of any any top young quarterback in

(27:23):
the league.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
But I'd say this, I'm I'm more I'm probably more.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
More confident in saying that I look for a guy
like Jordan Love to have a better next season this
upcoming season than even Marcus Stroud.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
Why am I mixing up all these names?

Speaker 5 (27:45):
And at the end of the day, I think the
reason why is because as a rookie head coach and
as a rookie quarterback, it's it's it may be more
of a daunting task to come back and have as
successful or more of a successful sophomore season than what
you did in your inaugural year. Whereas Jordan Love has

(28:07):
had time to sit watch learn from one of the
greatest to ever do it in the game. This was
something that was built, you know, and there was time
that was involved, So I would be more I would
be more confident in thinking and assuming that Jordan Love
understands what he's going up against. He's been able to
comprehend it and turn it into what it is that

(28:30):
we saw performance wise as a starter last season, and
that's something that you should come to expect, is that
he understands the defenses. He understands what he's capable of doing,
and how his talent and his skill sets fit within
what's going on schematically against him and schematically as an
offense with the players that he has personnel wise, and

(28:51):
like I said, having that safety blanket of a running
back that can catch the ball and run the ball
at the same time, which it's still I think it'll
still be a running backs back committee backfield, even though
Josh Jacobs will be the starting guy, will get the
heavy parts of the workload. I think that this is

(29:12):
a team that's set up offensively. I think Laflour is
a fine coach. I think he does a fine job
with what he's done, and a lot of the credit
that was given to Aaron Rodgers, I think we could
say that Matt Lafleur was deserving of the praise that
he got for what his offense was able to do

(29:32):
this last season.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
And it's also like you talk about the CJS, because
I thought the same thing, Like, if you're looking for
a camp, you know CJ. Stroud is the comp And
to your point, I'll take my chances with a guy
who's been in the league what four years now, and
has seen it and at least been in the environment
and has been also in the same offense for four years.

(29:54):
If I'm going to bet on somebody to have a
follow up year more similar to what he did the
previous season, I'm with you. I would go with Jordan
Love because yeah, there could be that second year. Look,
Mac Jones was a pro bowler his rookie year, I mean,
and then and then to the time.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
Tom Brady.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Yeah, and then then all of a sudden, you know,
everything fell apart and now he's a backup in Jacksonville.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
So no, I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
It's it looks everything looks like it's promising for the
Green Bay Packers. Also, you mentioned the quarterback situation in
Las Vegas. Maybe Josh Jacobs was, you know, he's away
from that now or maybe more of a stable quarterback
situation in Green Bay. We've got a change in the odds.
The week one starter for the Las Vegas Raiders, according

(30:38):
to our friends at DraftKings, is now Gardner Minshew. At
AMOST one forty five, it was Aidan O'Connell who was
a pretty heavy favorite to be the starter, but something
must have happened, something must have gone on, and something
must have gone down, either in mini camp or whatever.
And then next thing, you know, Gardner Minshew as we
approach training camp is the favorite to be the starter

(30:59):
come week one for the race. So yeah, I don't
know if you want to reach out to your guy
Antonio Pearson confirm that, so we can make a little
bit of money on that, But you know, if that's
something you're interested in, we got a couple hours to
play with here.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
So there's that, hag.

Speaker 5 (31:10):
I guess I could make some money, but I get
caught up. They would look at my phone records and
all kinds of stuff.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
That's true, you know, all right.

Speaker 5 (31:19):
I mean that was like the draft though with with
god Dang Jay Glazer. Man, I'm sitting there at the
draft and he's giving me the picks like ten to
fifteen minutes before, dang pick.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
Going like that.

Speaker 5 (31:30):
We're sitting right here at the gat nang at the
sports book. The one year, the one.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
Year were in the sports book.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
What a waste of an opportunity. Yeah we were there, Yeah,
we were there.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
I'm an honorable dude, all right.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
So if anybody doubts the integrity of LeVar Arrington, just
know he was at the draft with Jay Glazer in
a sports book a couple of years ago and didn't bite.

Speaker 5 (31:56):
That shows which I don't even really know how that
should even be cheating, to be honest with you, because
all he is is an insider.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
He could be wrong.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Yeah that's true.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
He could be wrong, but he's not He'll never be wrong.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Thirty two for thirty two. That dude, don't be wrong, man,
it is two pros and a cup of Joe. Here,
fox Wort's going.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
To throwaway picks like fifty five of the second round.
He'd be on them.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Oh you knew, you knew who the Lakers were taken?

Speaker 3 (32:21):
Two knew it.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
Damn We've got another edition of incase you missed it
coming up here shortly. But for all the latest from
around the world of sports, he's our number one pick.
He's Eddie Garcia.

Speaker 12 (32:31):
Well, speaking of the Lakers. News from the NBA, we
told you on yesterday's show about the Lakers and Lebron
James getting that two year, one hundred and four million
dollar Max deal. Well, later in the day it was
Bronni James's turn to get his contract. The son of
Lebron James gets a four year deal from the Lakers
worth seven point nine million. That was after being drafted
by the team in the second round. Last month, in baseball,

(32:52):
the Phillies beat the Cubs five to three. Philadelphia, now
in Major League best fifty seven and twenty nine. Orioles
down the Mariners four to one, and O'Hearn a homer
drove in three of the four runs for Baltimore. They've
won six of seven and now have the two game
lead on the Yankees for first place in the AL East.
Yankees lose to the Reds three to two. Astros beat
the Blue Jays nine to two. Houston's nineteen and nine

(33:12):
Saints the first of June, best record in the American
League over that span, and then now two games back
of Seattle for first place in the AL West. Guardians
lose to the White Sox eight to two. Dodgers taken
on the chin from the Diamondbacks twelve to four. Christian
Walker couple of homers for Arizona. Brewers shut out the
Rockies three to nothing. Milwaukee starter Colin Ray seven shoutout
innings in the win. Twins lose to the Tigers nine

(33:34):
to two. Now, Minnesota did hit a home run for
the twenty first straight game, but Detroit had four of them,
including a grand slam from Carson Kelly. Braves beat the
Giants three to one. Atlantis starter Chris Still, getting his
eleventh win of the season, tied with Kansas City's Seth
Lugo for the major league lead in victories. Royals beat
the Race four to two, while the Red Sox down
the Marlins seven to two, so Kansasity is still holding
a half game lead on Boston for the final wildcard

(33:55):
spot in the American League. Padre's beat the Rangers six
to two, while the Cardinals were walked off by the
Pie It's Pittsburgh with a five to four win in
ten innings. Now back to Labari Arrington, Jonas Knox, the
tyrack dot Com Fox Sports Radio Studios.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Thanks Eddie, two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio and coming up next year from
these tiraq dot com studios. By the way, let me
just point this out. I doubled up on a tire
Rach reread earlier. I said tire rack dot Com Studios
to go out of the first break. You wont know
why that happened, because at the same time we were
going to break, there was a tire Raq commercial on TV.
And it really messed me out because it was so

(34:28):
appropriate that we were doing a tirerach read and there
was a Tirac commercial on the TV in the studio
that it completely threw me off. But nonetheless, these are
the tirach dot com studios, and coming up next here
from these tierrach dot Com studios, we're going to tell
you about some bad parenting in the world of sports.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
Right here on FSR, be sure to catch.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
Live editions of Two Pros and a Cup of Joe

Speaker 5 (35:02):
Come on, yeah, yeah, yeah, hey go var oh yeah, damn,
oh yeah, oh yeah, Oh it is today, Oh.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
Yeah, oh yeah, Lorena playing the hits.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
I can't wait for people to hear the podcast, to
not hear the music, or just hear you go oh
yeah yeah.

Speaker 5 (35:34):
I mean, you can imagine how corny it is if
you hear me saying it the way that I'm saying it.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
It is Two Pros and a Cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Jonas Knox with you.
Coming up top of next hour a little over twelve
minutes from now from the Tireraq dot Com studios, you
are going to hear how one team in the NFL
is getting ready for a matchup against the division rival
months in advance. You'll get to hear that again a

(36:01):
little over ten minutes from now on FSR. A reminder
before we get to another edition of In case you
missed it though, that shortly after the show, our podcast
will be going up, so if you've missed any of it,
be sure to check out the pod. Search two Pros
wherever you get your podcast. Be sure to also follow
rate and review the podcast. Again, just search two pros
wherever get your podcasts. You'll see this show posted right
after we get off the air.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Sometimes you can't get to everything in the world of
sports or entertainment.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
Good thing the guys are here to bring you in
case you missed it, lead the laps drinking.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
Yeah, so he's definitely going to be missing it. Yeah,
so he is.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
He is not here right now. In fact, I night
I would at some point we should maybe try and
call him to see if he answers, because he'll be
so ripped that he'll get confused and think he was
supposed to work today, which would be a great phone
call to have live.

Speaker 9 (36:55):
On the air.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
So maybe we'll try and bang that out top of
next hour. Whate nonetheleast, who needs Leamy when in for
Lee you've got Rowdy Ian Roddy with everything that we've
done in case you missed it, coming up here now
and what's happening?

Speaker 9 (37:12):
Yeah, Hey guys, we're gonna start. We're gonna start with
kind of a sad story here. I mean, you know,
we'll see how it turns out, because the ending's a
little ambiguous.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
We're not sure.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
No update yet.

Speaker 9 (37:23):
But Dodger star Shoeo Tani hit his twenty seventh home
run of the season against the Diamondbacks yesterday. But the
broadcast camera caught footage of the ball flying into the
stands and absolutely drilling a young toddler.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
Boy in the forehead.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
That's a bad thing.

Speaker 9 (37:39):
Yeah, that's a bad thing. So the camera also showed
plenty of adults in range to catch the ball with
their hands fully outstretched trying to catch it. Not a
single one of them even got a finger on it.
This this ball literally went from Shoho Tani's bat to
this kid's forehead.

Speaker 5 (37:54):
So the literal context of this story is a ton
of non athletic fans are going to be the reason
for the demise of a toddler.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
Yes, yeah, here's okay, unless that kid, you know, walked
into the park by himself, grabbed a beer and said
I'm gonna sit here in the bleachers and you know,
hang out a little bit at Dodger Stadium. Where's like,
you don't have a parent there who's thinking, hey, I
should probably get in front of this thing so it
doesn't hit my four year old.

Speaker 3 (38:23):
I don't know, it literally.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
Untouched hit this kid in the face, and we don't
know whether or not the kid's okay.

Speaker 5 (38:30):
Well the kid is not okay, Now will the kid
be okay? There's difference. I mean, babies have soft shelves,
you know, up top for quite some time. Obviously they
need to be able to I don't know how big
the baby was, but obviously they got to be able
to get out into you know, to the world.

Speaker 3 (38:47):
So their head is a little bit you know, pliable.

Speaker 5 (38:50):
But I mean you get spanked upside the head with
a baseball coming off of a bat at that distance.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
I mean, I don't know their head's going to be
more pliable when they get out.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
I mean that it might have. It might have.

Speaker 5 (39:05):
The baby might have a permanent baseball. Then when it's
they might have to like put that like that that
skull shaped on it.

Speaker 9 (39:14):
But then anytime anyone asked the kid what happened, you
could say, oh, shoani head.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Oh yeah, I mean that makes everything better.

Speaker 5 (39:21):
You know that.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
I mean, that's you know, listen, because that's worth the
price of admission right then and there, you know the
fact that this kid's going to walk around with a
cereal ball in his neck. But at least he can say,
show Hao Tani's home runner.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
I mean the parent, the parent holding the kid, or
the parent next to the kid.

Speaker 5 (39:38):
You guys have got to feel something slightly like the
biggest losers in life, honestly.

Speaker 1 (39:43):
All right, So when your kids were I.

Speaker 5 (39:45):
Would have turned my back, like I would have shielded
the baby, like there's no way that a ball would
have hit my kid.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
Yes, and you're in an outfield, like it's not like
it was a foul ball, Like you had no time to.

Speaker 5 (39:56):
React, Like it's like bang, like yeah, everybody scream like
everybody's screaming Hello, everybody's trying to catch it now, Hello,
what you just going standing there?

Speaker 3 (40:07):
All right?

Speaker 1 (40:08):
Like the other thing too, when you have a kid,
I'm sure you experienced this, like kids have accidents, like
it just happens to where like I remember the first time,
you know, my kid fell and my wife and I
kind of freaked out and we talked to the doctor
like hey, you know he fell he's like, listen, he's fine.

Speaker 3 (40:23):
Like that happens it to have bad actions. Yeah they are,
they really are.

Speaker 1 (40:28):
But you you're on notice constantly, like whenever we're out.
Like my son's three, I'm just like my eyes are
on him at all times because I'm like, he could
hit a corner of a bro like.

Speaker 5 (40:40):
That with my Like I told you not too long ago,
she would we had to go to the emergency room. Yeah,
you know, and she's eight. I'm like that right now.
And she's eight. The youngest is eight.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
Imagine being in a baseball game and not having the
thought of, yeah, she get in front of my four
year old as this ball's coming in at one hundred
and twelve months.

Speaker 5 (40:59):
That's what was a four year old? Yes, yeah, that's good.
If that that's that's not good at all. That's wild
infant that might might you might be okay, four year old,
that baby got damage.

Speaker 3 (41:12):
Man.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
Look, my kid went to his first baseball game. Kid
went to his first baseball game. He was under two
years old, he was a year and a half. We
took him to Wriggley Field. We sat in the bleachers
and uh, but like he didn't have to worry about
anything hitting him because it's the Cubs and they don't sit.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
They're terrible.

Speaker 1 (41:30):
Oh wow, yeah, so that was I mean, that's the
safest place to be if you're a Cub fan.

Speaker 3 (41:33):
I thank god.

Speaker 1 (41:35):
If you want to make sure you don't get hit
by a ball Wriggley Field, just sit in the outfield,
especially when the Cubs are up, because there's nothing getting
out of the infield the way they're playing.

Speaker 5 (41:43):
I sure would like an update on this kid, me
to know I'm interested. Oh yeah, oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
Just picture picture a guy loading up Hay the back
of his pickup truck right now, wipes his brow.

Speaker 5 (41:59):
For and I'm proud to be an American wet least.
I know I'm free and I won't forget the man
of Dad.

Speaker 13 (42:11):
Okay, that right to me, And I gladly stand up
next to you and defend her still today because they
no doubt.

Speaker 1 (42:23):
I love this.

Speaker 7 (42:24):
Last chains God bless the us. Hey, yeah, yeah, I'm
talking about.

Speaker 5 (42:38):
Yeah, that's a song. That's strong song right there. You
know America whoa got the spirit?

Speaker 3 (42:45):
Uh? The song will make that song will have you
catching the spirit now.

Speaker 1 (42:52):
Damn right go. It is two pros and a cup
of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (43:00):
That dot hit her hard right chests join hanging hanging ammers.

Speaker 1 (43:06):
By the way, I want to give a shout out
to Greg who's listening. Uh he wrote in that he said,
thanks for working today. He's out here delivering potato chips.
And also this is a holiday where there's a lot
of potato chips that are that are consumed on this holiday.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
You know what, We appreciate you. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:23):
Man, that's that's real work right there, getting it done.
I went to the super Mart yesterday. I can't even
believe the cost of potato chips. It is shocking. So
gotta do what you gotta do. Store brand, Yeah, Hey,
what about Dorito's. I don't know what about Kroger That's
what That's what I dog. Yeah, stup being snobs crazy,

(43:47):
all right. So with that being said, we transition over
to this. We've got some over unders for you coming
up here at a little over twenty minutes from now
from the Tirak dot com studios. But we've got, uh,
we've got an interesting situation in the NFL. So the
New York Giants decided they wanted to be a part
of this off season with the Giants Hard Knocks Edition
by HBO, because HBO just can't seem to let it go.

(44:10):
They're like the taxidermy who still keeps the animal alive
with Hard Knocks. It's over. Stuff it, put it on
the wall and let's move on. But instead we've got
to hear Yeah, I know, but it's like they're still
keeping it alive.

Speaker 3 (44:26):
No, it's over.

Speaker 1 (44:27):
Just pull the plug, stick it on the wall and
just look back on the good times you had instead
of trying to reenact and revisit this whole thing to
begin with. And so the Giants decided they want oh, bang.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
Bang, I'm sorry, go ahead, God, I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
Man. Everybody's got a makeup room, you know.

Speaker 3 (44:59):
But uh nonetheless, we h you're stupid.

Speaker 1 (45:04):
App Uh. So we've got.

Speaker 3 (45:13):
That should be all Hard Knocks, sure.

Speaker 1 (45:20):
Sure should be. Uh, but we've got the New York
Giants that are on Hard Knocks.

Speaker 3 (45:26):
They've got.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
App uh. So they've got the Giants being featured there.
And you know, there's all sorts of clips that are
coming out. This first one we're going to hear, and
this clip that we'll listen to right now, this is
Joe Shane defending the decision to keep Daniel Jones, and
as he points out, offensive line has been an issue
for the Giants. It's been an issue especially last year

(45:52):
with all the injuries they had, and so he kind
of used that to state his case for why they
continue on with Daniel Jones as their quarterback.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
Draft one. We're gonna sign good guys. We got a pointment.

Speaker 11 (46:04):
Yeah, the reality is facts, three serious injuries in two years.
We need to protect ourselves. He didn't have much of
a chance this year. That's legitm Like your off season,
the four guys, your core guys that we're gonna play together.

Speaker 3 (46:16):
Played less than sixty snaps together.

Speaker 11 (46:18):
Miami, we got three practice squad guys playing for us,
you know, Like, no, like you got Pat Maholmes. He
can't win it behind that, I'm not giving up, Like
he's in our contract for three more years. Just protecting
ourselves because best predictor of the future.

Speaker 3 (46:34):
Is the past.

Speaker 1 (46:36):
If they were really interested in protecting themselves on the
offensive line, why did they take Molik Neighbors at the
first pick of the draft. I'm just like, you know
what I mean, Like, what do we like if that's
if that's that's what your concern was. I mean even
the Jets, Like as much as we talk about how
dysfunctional the Jets are, what did they do, oh, lou

(46:58):
Like like they drafted your guy to p Yeah, they
drafted your guy at Penn State. Like that was like,
all right, we want to keep a quarterback healthy, We'll
go draft an offensive lineman. He was there, they could
have had him. They went Malak Neighbors.

Speaker 3 (47:11):
That's a.

Speaker 5 (47:13):
This is a hard one because Maleak Neighbors is he's
one of those guys.

Speaker 3 (47:18):
He's a guy. I mean, there were a couple guys
in this this draft.

Speaker 5 (47:23):
Obviously, I think Marvin Harrison Junior is the guy of
guys in this draft. And in fact, I think he's generational.
I think he's going to have one of those careers
where I mean they might create their own legacy of
big time receivers, you know that that go to Arizona.

(47:45):
He he has he very much has that in him
to be the next guy after you know, Larry Fitzgerald.
That's how highly I think of him. Uh, Malik Neighbors
is definitely in the category of will be elite in
the league. And so that's a hard one. And I

(48:11):
will say this and living in sensibility of we couldn't
protect our quarterback. And if you are indeed using that
as your logic and your reasoning as to why Daniel
Jones has not had success, then it's a no brainer.
You take the best offensive lineman that you can get,
you get the best offensive lineman, and free agency you

(48:32):
get the best offensive lineman that you can draft. That's
that is one hundred percent an easy and easy answer
to the problem. Jonas to answer your question, but Malik
Neighbors is one of those types of talents that, if
the circumstances work out the way that they're supposed to

(48:54):
work out, if they can guard Daniel, protect Daniel Jones
the way they need to and give him some time
to operate. If you have some balance in your offense.
Doesn't help that you got rid of Sakuon Barkley. I
forget who they bring in. I don't know who they
brought in to replace that production, but probably not going

(49:17):
to be as good a player replacing that production from
your backfield. So he's going to have a lot of
pressure on him to deliver the goods as a passer.
He has yet to do so I think we've seen
enough of a body of work of him. They say
that we haven't. They say he hasn't played as much

(49:37):
or the people around him haven't played as much as
they needed to for you to see what type of
player he really is. I think we know what you're
going to get from Daniel Jones as a playmaker for
your team, at least with the New York Giants. And
that's been a lot of different head coaches. But still
I don't look at Daniel Jones like he's going to
be a world beater all of a sudden this year

(49:59):
coming into the season. So for those to be the
sentiments of the people internally, it just makes you wonder, like,
you know, are they a little bit are they playing
up to the camera or are they being real? And
if they're being real, do you have to then think, well,
are these guys a little delusional? And what it is

(50:22):
that they're expecting for Daniel Jones and you know the
rest of this this outfit saying it doesn't sound realistic
to me.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
I mean I remember back when in the draft, it
was probably three years ago at this point, but it
was the Bengals decision. They were sitting at four I
believe four or five. I think they were sitting at
five rather and they decided coming off the injury to
Joe Burrow, they drafted a wide receiver in Jamar Chase

(50:53):
and passed on Panay Sewel, who ended up going to
the Lions at six. That one has worked out well
for everybody involved.

Speaker 5 (51:00):
T Well. I mean, that's he continues to get hit,
and that's and he continues to get hurt, right, and
and you don't see that happening to Jared Goff. In fact,
Piney Sewell is one of the star warts of that team. Yes,
so I wouldn't say that it Listen, Jamar Chase is
the same thing I just said about Malik Neighbors, Right,

(51:20):
He's just one of those guys. It's you can't deny
the talent that that guy brings to the to the table.
So if you take them, you've taken a talent, and
that talent can be very very useful and productive for
your team. But that doesn't mean that that was the
right move or the perfect move for your team to make,

(51:41):
being in the position that it's in. Yeah, and that
and that's kind of seemingly has been the undoing of
the Cincinnati Bengals is the health of Joe Burrow.

Speaker 3 (51:51):
And I think that injury came off of contact, correct, Yes.

Speaker 1 (51:54):
I mean fuld in half. That's one of the worst
knee in are.

Speaker 3 (51:58):
Also it's hand though right then he hit his hand
or his elbow or something like that.

Speaker 1 (52:03):
He's never I think he had also, like appendicitis last
like he's never really had like a training camp, like
there's always bottle shoes.

Speaker 3 (52:11):
Appendicitis isn't from protection in the pocket.

Speaker 1 (52:14):
But I mean, unless he got hit, let's just blame
him anyways, We'll blame that.

Speaker 3 (52:19):
Maybe appendicitis from getting hit too much. I don't know. Yeah,
maybe they just kept bruising his appendix.

Speaker 1 (52:26):
Anthony Munyos was still there, that wouldn't happen.

Speaker 5 (52:29):
They might run over Anthony Munyos though it might be
a little bit light for this this this day and age.

Speaker 1 (52:35):
I don't know. I'm not messing with Anthony Munyo.

Speaker 3 (52:37):
I'm not either. He's a great man, by the way.
I'm gonna take that that back down. His cat. That
was cat. Anthony was a.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
Bad man, one of the all time greats. But so
you've got that situation with Daniel Jones and and sort
of and it really does feel like they chose like
they could have done a deal with and look, Joe
Shane is the same general manager who last year when
they announced the signing of Daniel Jones before last season

(53:09):
and the extension, he said, had he known what he
knows now, they would have picked up the fifth year option,
which was basically admitting we didn't think it was gonna
work out and he was going to have as strong
of a year as he did. So now we're having
to pay a premium because we screwed that up. Like
that's basically what he was saying. So you've got all
that in the backdrop of going into this season and

(53:32):
Saquon Barkley is now in Philadelphia, and so being featured
in this Hard Knocks episode is Joe Shane breaking down
and the Giants breaking down why they don't see that
it's worth them worth it for them to pay Saquon
Barkley the money that he's looking for going last offseason.
So he ends up in Philadelphia. So aj Brown saw

(53:53):
the video, took to social media and said, the Saquon
video fired me up, and it wasn't even about me.
I'm going to do everything in my power to make
sure you get yours fam talking about Saquon Barkley, and
I'm telling you right now, and we've talked about this
a little bit throughout the course of the offseason, their
decision to not pay Saquon Barkley and letting him go

(54:14):
to Philadelphia is going to haunt them, Like the Eagles
and Nick Sirianni feel like the team and the franchise
that would absolutely get a little bit petty on behalf
of their player, and when he sees the Giants, they're
going to do everything in their power to make sure
that he gets every opportunity to shove it back in

(54:35):
their face like they're going that decision they made cost them,
And I think that's why Giants fans are so upset
about it and why Saquon Barkley has responded to some
of the heat from Giants fans because that's all misdirected anger.
They're pissed at the organization, not a Saquon Barkley.

Speaker 3 (54:56):
But they need to stop doing that.

Speaker 5 (54:58):
Fans need to stop doing that, like stop stop lashing
out at players, especially in these cases like there's some
instances where there's legitimacy and feeling the way that you
feel or you felt, but this isn't one of them. Like,
why would you attack Saquon Barkley for going to a
place where he's wanted.

Speaker 3 (55:18):
He wanted to stay in New York. He did.

Speaker 5 (55:22):
If you guys remember he did the whole You know,
I'm going to come to camp like I've rethought it,
like I want to be a good teammate to my team, this,
that and the other. I'm gonna play this out. Whatever
happens happens. But I do want to be a New
York Giant. I want to stay here. I don't want
no issues. So I'm coming in. You know, I'm coming in.
And he did, and he played well, and then you

(55:44):
don't want to pay him again, Like you can't as
New York Giants fan, which as fans which ill will
upon Saquon Barkley for going to a divisional opponent, you
can't which ill will upon him for not being a
New York Giant anymore. He wanted to be a Giant.

(56:06):
He wanted to be a Giant. He wanted to represent you,
your team, your city, you know, your fan base. He
wanted to and they didn't want him back. It's so funny,
you just never. I mean, I guess you kind of
heard it in Washington, but not very much, not really,
like you don't really hear fans really or the media

(56:28):
really just go in on decision makers like you just
never hear it. And and to me, I just think
that it's wild in this situation here, there's no reason
to direct any type of ill will towards towards sa Quon.
And if I am a Philadelphia Eagles player, if I'm
a fan, if I'm if I'm a coach, if I'm

(56:51):
whoever a teammate, yeah I'm a rally around that because
he's a good dude. He's a genuinely good dude. And
by the way, he's from PA and he's from that
side of PA. So to that point, y'all sent him home,
you know, y'all sent him home.

Speaker 3 (57:11):
So it is what it is.

Speaker 5 (57:14):
But they definitely are going to have to deal with
a healthy dose of Saquon Barkley every single time they
play them.

Speaker 1 (57:21):
One of the clips I saw was they were having
discussions like it was Joe Shane and the rest of
the front office, and they were talking about, you know,
his age and why they don't want to pay him
and then they're going around the room and there was
one guy that was in the room that was like,
are we sure nobody's going to pay him? Like based
on and they just kept pointing out, oh, you know's
there's his age, and there's a lot of other backs

(57:42):
on the market, and there's you know, does it does
it make sense? And like just basically finding every reason
not to pay him, like every reason not to give
him the contract he wants. And then he ends up
with the Eagles, and I just look at it and
I go, he wanted to be there, As you pointed out,
he went above and beyond to try and stay there. Yes,

(58:04):
he had the injury issues, but that hasn't been as
much of the case the past couple of years. And instead,
when we talked about at the time, it would have
made more sense to give him the contract extension in
franchise tag Daniel Jones. They didn't go that route, and
so here we are two years later. He ends up
in Philadelphia. He's with the division rival.

Speaker 5 (58:24):
That's what they got the problem with because that's the
I mean twos there's two teams that are better than
the Giants in the NFC East right now, And you
could say, possibly all three outside of them, but you
know for certain that it's Dallas, and you know for
certain it's the Eagles. Yes, right, So you really only
have a problem because you know how good Saquan is

(58:46):
and it was okay, like, we're not gonna pay him,
we're not gonna pay him until he went to the Eagles,
and now you know how much better the Eagles will
be having that type of talent in their backfield.

Speaker 3 (58:57):
That's the only thing you have a problem with.

Speaker 5 (59:00):
Say you have a problem with letting him go to
Philly versus versus it being anything else, because the bottom
line is if he goes somewhere like like Booby goes
Booby went to Carolina, Booby Miles, Miles Sanders went to
to Carolina, you don't have any problem with him. If
you're an Eagles fan, you don't have you don't have
beef with him. In fact, you feel bad for him.

(59:23):
Not only do you not have beef, but you're like, man,
we had a really really nice running game going with him,
and we probably should have took care of woman.

Speaker 3 (59:31):
We let him go like that sucks because he's in Carolina.

Speaker 5 (59:36):
You know, had he went to Dallas, then we'd be
having the same conversation, like, how y'all gonna let him
go to Dallas?

Speaker 3 (59:43):
What y'all doing that for? Booby? You shtink, you suck,
like we hate you, burn your jersey like all.

Speaker 5 (59:49):
That stuff, right, because you know he could, Oh, it's
okay if they can't hurt you. But if we let
you go because we didn't value you, and then you
go to somebody who can directly, uh you know where
he can hurt you two times a year.

Speaker 3 (01:00:04):
Now you got an issue with it.

Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
DeAndre Swift is in Chicago. You didn't hear anything about it. No,
like there wasn't like you know from Philly standpoint, you
didn't hear anything. They're just like, yeah, whatever, he moved on.
But Saquon left, went to Arrival. Now that he's going
to see him. Week seven, they go to the Giants, the.

Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
Eagles coming coming. That's what's going to happen.

Speaker 1 (01:00:26):
I'm telling you, Siriani is petty, he's got a red ass.
They're gonna have something dialed up for that game. I'm
telling you, like, there's gonna be I can't wait to
see what the betting lines are, like just prop bets
on only Saquon Barkley for that game, that's gonna be
the move. So uh so, it'll be fun to watch
that play out again. Week seven and then they close
up the season. Week eighteen is the Eagles Giants in Philly,

(01:00:49):
so who knows by that point, the Giants won't be
playing for anything and Philly will be resting their starters
for a playoff game. So that's usually they go and.

Speaker 3 (01:00:58):
They're still going to play Saquon probably.

Speaker 5 (01:01:02):
Getting one get him two hundred yards the game, getting
him a single game Russian record against the Giants.

Speaker 1 (01:01:09):
It is two pros and a cup of joe. That'd
be amazing, by the way, two pros and a cup
of Joe. Fox Sports Radio LaVar Arrington, Jonas Knox with you.
We've got some over unders coming up here shortly for
all the latest though from around the world of sports.
He's Eddie Garcia.

Speaker 12 (01:01:21):
All right, thanks, Jonahs. We'll start with the NBA, where
the LA Lakers and star Lebron James agree on a
two year, one hundred and four million dollars max deal
and Lebron James junior Bronni James on the same day.
It's a four year deal worth seven point nine million,
and the Lakers are adding Nate McMillan and Scotti Brooks
as assistant coaches on JJ Redick's staff. They have a
combined thirty one years of NBA head coaching experience to

(01:01:43):
assist Reddick, who has none in baseball games of no yet.
The Phillies over the Cubs five to three. Philadelphia now
major league best fifty seven and twenty nine. Orioles down
the Mariners four to one. Baltimore's won six of seven,
and they now have a two game lead on the
Yankees for the top spot in the AL East. Yankees
lose to the Reds three to two. Moxtros over the
Blue Jays nine too Houston nineteen and nine since the

(01:02:03):
first of June best record in the American League over
that span, and they're now just two games back of
Seattle for first in the AL West. Guardians loose to
the White Sox eight to two. Dodgers follow the Diamondbacks
twelve to four. Christian Walker couple homers for Arizona. Brewers
shut off the Rockies three to nothing. Milwaukee starter Colin
Ray seven shot on innings in the win. Twins loose
to the Tigers nine to two. Minnesota did it a

(01:02:23):
home run for the twenty first straight game, but Detroit
had four of them, including a grand slam from Carson Kelly.
Braves over the Giants three to one. Chris Sale the
starter for Atlanta. It's his eleventh win of the season.
That's tied with Kansas City's Seth Lugo for the Major
league leading victories. Royals beat the Rays four to two,
while the Red Sox down the Marlin seven to two,
so Kansas City is still holding that half game lead
on Boston for the last wildcard spot in the American League.

(01:02:46):
Padres beat the Rangers six to four. It was the
Pirates walking off of the five to four went over
the Cardinals in ten innings. Now back to LaVar Arrington
and Jonas Knox and Tyrack dot Com Fox Sports Radio Studios.

Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
