You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Why, I don't know, We're all over the place.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
Jonas is alf this is Two Pros and a Cup
of Joe. I'm Brady Quinn, That's LeVar Arrington. When Jonas leaves,
apparently the entire show goes to crap. We just can't
get any of our radio formatics together.

Speaker 5 (00:54):
Like we normally do.

Speaker 6 (00:55):
Dang.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
I mean, it's it's tough. He's the glue. He's the
glue that keeps us all together. Well, we know the
mo on this Knox show.

Speaker 7 (01:02):
We got to get the fiend in as much as
we can before we change it.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
Oh okay, oh good yeah, Lea, you're back from the.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Bathroom by now.

Speaker 7 (01:10):
I I am.

Speaker 8 (01:13):
God.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
I almost say no, I'm.

Speaker 7 (01:15):
Going to crush the over. Well, I thought it was
gonna go for.

Speaker 6 (01:17):
I'm going to crush the over dang well.

Speaker 7 (01:21):
I didn't get everything accomplished that I wanted to get accomplished.

Speaker 6 (01:24):
I say that, Oh my Goshkang.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
You got some problems. Man, you got some problems.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
You know, you know who doesn't tire Iraq And by
the way, we're broadcasting live from the tyraq dot com studios.
Tyraq dot com will health you get there and unmatched selection,
fast free shipping, free road has to protection at a

way tire buying should be. Uh, yeah, you got problems, man,

(01:53):
you really do?

Speaker 7 (01:55):
Just I mean, yeah, I do. I'm sorry, I'm trying.

Speaker 6 (02:00):
Apparently the Cowboys have a problem too.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
They do the run of applause, run of applause for
LeVar being professional and getting us to our transition, which would.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Be yeah, one of the all time greats.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Ed too Tall Jones. He kind of calls out the
leadership of the Dallas Cowboys. He was quoted as saying
basically that they don't have any guys who've won a
Super Bowl in the building.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
Now that's not technically true.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
You do have a head coach and Mike McCarthy who's there,
but he talks about more from a leadership standpoint in
the locker room that it's different. When you've got a
guy who has been to the pinnacle, he goes winning,
you know, winning games in the regular seasons one thing,
but once you need to take it to another level,
you have to have guys in the locker room that
have been a part of that before, and no one
is at this point. So that is where we're at,

(02:53):
at least with the Dallas Cowboys and some.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Of their very own some of the all time greats.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Calling out the Dallas Boys for the lack of success
in the postseason, which look, Dallas fans know this all
too well. There's an expectation of winning a Super Bowl
every single year and unfortunately it's come up short. The
hard part is with this offseason, as I guess, inactive
as they were in free agency and with some of

(03:20):
the decisions they've made and even signing guys to extensions,
to know is Dak going to be here after this year?

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Is Mike McCarthy going to be here after this year?
What's the plan?

Speaker 4 (03:29):
For Ceedee Lamb and Micah Parson's long term there's all.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Those questions up in the air.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
You know, if those questions are addressed, I think Dallas
Cowboys fans people on the outside would probably feel a
lot better about the outlook of the Dallas Cowboys, at
least in the short term, right.

Speaker 6 (03:46):
I don't know. I don't think so.

Speaker 9 (03:50):
I think that I think Dallas has earn't the right
to be waited for, like wait for what it is
that they're going want to do. I think I think
we we look at this Dallas team and and they
do much of the same. They show that they can
be a competitive team, a good team during the course

(04:12):
of the season. They don't generally win the bigger games
that they play in during the course of the season,
but nonetheless they still have successful regular seasons.

Speaker 6 (04:23):
Uh.

Speaker 9 (04:24):
They build up your confidence level you think that they're
going to make a playoff run, and then it doesn't happen.

Speaker 6 (04:32):
I'm curious.

Speaker 9 (04:33):
I'm curious as to what the defense is going to
look like now that you know, you know, Quinn has
left for Washington. I'm curious as to how Washington will
play against Dallas. Knowing that Quinn was a part of
the coaching staff to the capacity that he was. What's
What's how how is Michael Parsons feeling about the season?

Speaker 6 (04:57):
How? How is this defense? Is Trayvon?

Speaker 9 (05:00):
Is Trayvon going to be what he needs to be
coming back from his injuries? Of course, you know, Diggs
is definitely a big time playmaker, so they should have
a pretty deep secondary put in theory, they this should
be a good year. But you have obviously, as you mentioned,

(05:22):
the extension of CD Lamb hasn't come forth yet, or
even a new contract to begin with. You know, Dak
Prescott has the contract situation and that's looming. I just
think that there's so many question marks and so much
drama that that comes from Dallas that it's almost hard

(05:45):
or impossible to give them like this positive prognosis ahead
of time. I don't think they get the benefit of
the doubt at this point. Q.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
I don't think they should get the benefit of the doubt.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
I mean again, Mike McCarthy was brought in to get
the Dallas Cowboys past just big a team to get
to the playoffs, but a team that could win a
Super Bowl. That was his experience and his history in
Green Bay being able to have said he has won
a super Bowl before. There might be some people who
are Green Bay fans, like Lee to Lap who would
maybe argue that maybe they should have won more super Bowls.

(06:21):
I don't know, Lee, is that the category you fall in?
It looks like Lee's already gone to the bathroom. Kang,
He's he's he's always here when you need him and
oftentimes though he's not.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
So it just it just depends on where that is.

Speaker 6 (06:37):
But you got a closer relationship with the commode than
you do.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
You know, Lee, did you just hop off the camode?
Did come on live radio?

Speaker 7 (06:47):
Yes? Yes I do. Team player here. I'm glad he
took it to the bathroom.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Ian, we have breaks, you could go during the break,
you know that right?

Speaker 7 (06:55):
Well, no, because Lorene is yelling at me and telling
me I gotta go.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
So, oh my gosh, this becomes an issue with our show.
Is your bowel movements?

Speaker 6 (07:05):
Oh my god?

Speaker 3 (07:06):
All because you had what too many peppers and your
salmon last night? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (07:09):
I like your healthy salmon in my healthy salmon, Yes,
healthy salmon.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
You did wash it down with a case of beer either,
so that's good. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (07:16):
No, you feel.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Like Mike McCarthy underachieved during his time in the Green Bay.

Speaker 7 (07:23):
Yes, of course he should have had at least two
Super Bowl wins, so yes, if he did underachieve. And
of course, you know, as the reports say, I think
he was kind of checking out towards the end at least,
you know, it wasn't clicking with Rogers. So yes, he
definitely under underachieved.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Okay, thank you for that int put him. I'm sorry
you can go back to that.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
Did you underachieve just now or did you overachieve? Lee?

Speaker 7 (07:45):
I overachieved?

Speaker 6 (07:46):
Nice, Okay, get to hear.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
I just it's it's tough sometimes.

Speaker 8 (07:53):
Lee.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
You are quite quite the character. I think you're looking
at it this way though. I mean, this is kind
of an all in the year where one or two
things is gonna happen. Either this thing is going to
blow up after this year and this is assuming like
none of these deals get done, or you know, Dallas
is going to have the success to justify Jerry Jones,

(08:15):
you know, extending Dak Prescott, extending Mike McCarthy, trying to
make it all work with Ceede Lamb, Micah Parsons.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
But probably definitely Ceedee Lamb.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
After this season, they're gonna have to make a decision
on and then Micah Parsons, I mean, the problem with
not doing anything this offseason is financially, it's gonna be
hard to be able to make it all work next offseason.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
And that's I think the greatest issue that.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Dallas is going to fall into, like one of the
pieces may have to move on unless they're you know,
able to try to find some way of making this work,
or Dak maybe takes a home team discount, which I
have a hard time imagining he's going to do. And
by the way, I wouldn't advise any player to do that.
I mean, as much as you know people have talked about,

(09:01):
for example, whether it's you know, Tom Brady or some
of the others that have taken less to help spread
it around, you know, go back and ask those players
oftentimes after they've done that, if they feel like the
team spent the money around them they thought they were
going to, because I've heard always more often than not
that that never takes place. A team says, oh, we're
going to save an extra five or ten million, spend

(09:22):
another guys, you know, let's actually see how much of
that they spend.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
So anyway, the.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Point is this is a Dallas Cowboys team that is
in a critical year for a lot of different people,
and that's one of the best parts about.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
Following them this season.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
But at the same time, I just don't have an
optimistic outlook on them. Maybe it's the transition with dan
Quinn not being there, and we'll see what Mike Zimmer
can do on defense, but it's just something feels off
about this team heading into the season.

Speaker 9 (09:50):
Yeah, it's all the conversations, and none of these conversations
have really resonated as being positive conversation, you know, from
the you know, Mike McCarthy being tired of being undermined
by the owner to the contractual issues. It's just there's

(10:11):
really been no feel good stories. Dak Prescott in the
walking boot and I'm taking proper precautions, like what a
walking boot. It's just so many things that generate what
Micah and Childress not not talking, like saying like two
three words to one another since since he's been there.

(10:32):
There's just so much that says that points towards they're
not being success this year. I mean, that's just that's
not that's not me making something up. That's just looking
at it as this is a dysfunctional family. Like if
you have all of these things playing out, ceedee Lamb

(10:53):
is not coming to camp if he doesn't have a
new contract.

Speaker 6 (10:58):
You know, it's like.

Speaker 9 (11:01):
Hooker having conversations about Michael Parsons on on Keishawn's podcast.
It's like every single thing has been a negative, like
it's bad. What what have we received from out of
Dallas that says, here's some positivity, here's something that's that's

(11:24):
pointing in the right direction.

Speaker 6 (11:26):
What like they they.

Speaker 9 (11:27):
Lost some of their their like like they lost Tyran,
like they lost their best offensive lineman arguably. I mean,
there's just nothing that says think positively about how the
outcomes are going to come for for the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
No again, And I think you could see why, you know,
you feel that way. There's other people who've kind of
got that perspective on it. So that is unfortunately the
reality for Dallas Cowboys fans.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
But we'll wait to see him.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
Sometimes winning the off season doesn't always equate, and that's
necessarily winning during the regular season and the playoffs. So
maybe this this whole method, the madness behind it will work.
But it's a Friday, right, I feel like we're missing something.
I know we're missing Jonas. I think we still have
Lee here. I'm not quite sure. Maybe he's back now
in the crab closet, but there's something missing on a Friday, because.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
We're come on, we finally come on, come on Friday, say.

Speaker 8 (12:26):
Friday.

Speaker 9 (12:27):
Come on, yeah, come on Friday and Friday, come on,
come on.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Coffee, coffee, get up the toilet.

Speaker 6 (12:38):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, come.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
On yeah, yeah, he battled hard.

Speaker 6 (12:43):
Go find that. Let's ice. Let's ice.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Let's I think that, Eddie, you almost made it through.

Speaker 8 (12:49):
Man, let's down.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Come on, switch it on up, let's go, let's switch
it to stay with this.

Speaker 6 (12:55):
Yeah, come on?

Speaker 9 (13:00):
That is a football Friday, football Friday.

Speaker 5 (13:09):
Do it?

Speaker 9 (13:11):
Were you saying wu because of Lee's backsat or where
you say Lee?

Speaker 6 (13:14):
Because it's football.

Speaker 7 (13:15):
Friday, football Friday?

Speaker 6 (13:16):
Okay? Perfect? Perfect?

Speaker 5 (13:18):
All right?

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Well don't Lorena coming up next to on.

here's how Dan Patrick described us when he came on
our show.

Speaker 7 (14:03):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Do you don't interrupting our promo? Yeah, he wasn't talking
about you. You took those clubs totally of context.

Speaker 10 (14:14):
Oh yeah, Well after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.

Speaker 7 (14:18):
Let me put this into context.

Speaker 4 (14:31):
We got John Paul Morosi, but I've got to play
some from JP something that we caught from earlier this
week that I think.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
LeVar might like.

Speaker 11 (14:40):
I think I'm gonna be on the two Pros and
a couple of Joe later on the week. I got
to congratulate LeVar in person for his son committing to
Penn State.

Speaker 8 (14:48):
I don't Rich, there's.

Speaker 11 (14:49):
Probably some good ones put in by you as well.
I think LeVar Errington the second made a great choice.
Huge respect for Penn State, and I wish your team
all the best.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
Is fall how about that our guy, John Paul Morossi,
Fox Sports Radio, Major League Baseball sider, thank you Major
League Baseball Network JP, thanks so much for taking the
time to join us.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Well, how about that, guys, how about Brady?

Speaker 11 (15:14):
Yeah, Brady LeVar, good morning. Let LeVar, that's in person,
my friend.

Speaker 8 (15:18):
I had to make sure I.

Speaker 11 (15:19):
Was on the air with you with your fellow Nitney
lion Rich Ronberger earlier in the week, and I said,
I just said, seen the news about LeVar Junior committee.
I said, Hey, I got I gotta tell LeVar in
person congratulations And how fitting is this. I'm in I'm
in the great city of Pennsylvania right now, flying back
from the Phillies Dodgers series. Congratulate you from from your
state and just wish LeVar the second all the best

(15:41):
there in Happy Valley.

Speaker 9 (15:42):
Thanks so much, JP, I appreciate that. Hey, let me
throw this one out at you. Since you're just leaving
Pennsylvania and leaving that Phillies series between the Dodgers. How
how should we interpret this? You got two top teams.
People are really high on on the Dodgers, JP, But
I mean, man Philly, as you know, they asserted themselves

(16:04):
and they really really dominated that this series. I mean
they spanked them in the first game, but then beat
them the rest of the way as well. I mean,
should that give you know, Dodgers fans reason for pause
to be as excited about this team as they have
been all season long.

Speaker 11 (16:23):
It should, LeVar, because the Dodgers have some work to do,
especially on their starting rotation. They have been decimated by injuries,
and if they want to deliver on the on the
preseason hype of this team and what they can achieve,
they have some serious work to do at the trade
deadlines upgrade their rotation. They need to I think at
least one starting pitcher, maybe even two. It's hard to

(16:46):
do that when you've already committed a ton of money.
The pitchers who are on the injured list right now,
but that's their reality. Last night they had an opener.
Of course, Bobby Miller struggled this week. He was sent
down to the minor leagues. They've got James tax And
starting tonight against the Tigers, ironically, in a game that
is being started by Trek Skubele of Detroit. We I

(17:07):
think is one of the guys that the Dodgers would
love to get at the trade deadline. And then they've
got a young rookie and Rob Leski starting a game
this weekend and then an opener. Their rotation at the
moment is really in shambles, and we're now going to
have to wait and see. Now after the All Star break,
they expect to have tler Glass now come back at
some point and Clayton Kershaw come back at some point,

(17:27):
but Walker Bueler is still on the injured list and
working his way back, as is Yamamoto. There are a
lot of questions right now with this Dodgers rotation, and
it's ironic, guys that for a team that's in first
place comfortably and that has all this talent and certain
they're still missing Mookie Bets in a big way as well.

Speaker 8 (17:45):
But this is probably the.

Speaker 11 (17:47):
Team in Major League Baseball that is most excited about
the All Star Break because if they have to play
game on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday next week, I'm
not sure who their starting pitchers would be. So they
really are in a dilemma, and they've got some with
the trade deadline.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
You know, JP will get to the All Star Breaking
a little bit, but I want to talk to you
just about what occurred last night with Paul Skeins. He
goes seven no innings at Milwaukee, eleven strikeouts, and we'll
get into him too, just how amazing he is.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
And I get it, ninety nine pitches.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
You want to make sure you've got them, you know, prepared,
not overwhelming him for the rest of the season. But
it is a no hitter, and as soon as Colin
Holdeman comes in, he probably gives up a hit to
first batter.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
So it's like, right at what point?

Speaker 4 (18:28):
I mean, I understand like in the world of analytics,
everything we're in right now in baseball that you want
to kind of put these guys on a pitch count,
not wear them down, especially scans for as good as
he is, but like, are we just done with the
days of letting a guy go to see if you
can get a no hitter and go all the way
through nine innings? I mean, I know the Pirates one
two and a one to oh, you know deal, But
I just is that where we're at this day and

(18:49):
age of baseball?

Speaker 11 (18:51):
You know, Brady, It's a great question. I think. Unfortunately,
the answer in many cases is yes, I would have
loved to have seen Skiings finish it off.

Speaker 8 (19:00):
And I'll be clear about this.

Speaker 11 (19:03):
It's I'm not going to say that in every single
case because there are some pitchers. If it's a twenty
one year old who's just coming off of Tommy John
surgery and it's his second major league start and he's
never thrown above ninety pitches that year, then I get it.
Then I would say probably he should get pulled in
that situation. But with schemes, people might may forget that

(19:27):
he was throwing one hundred and ten one hundred and
twenty pitches on a routine basis last year in the
NCAA Tournament, in the College World Series, so he's been
doing this already, and you have the All Star break
to use where if you wanted to say, listen.

Speaker 8 (19:42):
He's worked on a no hitter, let's let's be.

Speaker 11 (19:45):
A little dynamic here and back him off of his
next start and utilize.

Speaker 8 (19:49):
The All Star break.

Speaker 11 (19:51):
I think people would understand that. And to sort of
loop back a moment to the point about the Dodgers, Nobody,
even an organization as smart as the Los Angeles Dodgers,
nobody has figured out how to keep pitchers healthy. The
Dodgers might be the smart they might have been the
smartest team in baseball from a reputation standpoint. They've got

(20:13):
research and development all over the place, all this money
and resources, and they got like one hundred million dollars in.

Speaker 8 (20:19):
Pitching on the injured list right now.

Speaker 11 (20:21):
So if they haven't figured it out, then nobody has.
And there's the thing is, there's no guarantee that if
you take schemes out after seven innings that you're going
to keep them healthy anymore than if you let them
finish the nine. I just think in that moment, and
I get it, and and Derek Shelton has done a
great job of this team this year. That's just one

(20:41):
moment where, based on the context of it. I would
have loved to have seen him have a chance to
finish the game. Now. The one thing that I always
want to make sure, I say, in a situation like this,
we don't know what guidelines that Derek Shelton was given,
either by his bosses or by schemes as agent. And

(21:04):
there's always dynamics like that, and I'm it's I know
fans don't want to hear it always, but there are
sometimes accinuating circumstances where an agent may have said, listen,
part of the agreement you sign here, we're doing this.
You're not going to go above X amount of pitches
that is theoretically possible. So I think it's important to
maybe not criticize the manager too much because he has

(21:25):
bosses and guidelines. But in general, Brady, I'm with you, man,
I would have loved to see them finish it off.
And he was certainly showing to me with how he
pitched yesterday that he had enough left in the tank
to go.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Out plenty plenty.

Speaker 9 (21:40):
So say, Pee, We've had plenty of conversation about leading
up to the trade deadline and the shakers and movers
and how important that that trade period of time is
for some of these teams to solidify or to replenish

(22:00):
or to replace what's taking place, whether it's due to injury,
whatever poor performance. As we move closer to that deadline,
to you, what teams need this trade deadline the most?
Like what resonates to you in terms of what team
needs to do what in order to be at that

(22:22):
level of competing for a World Series at the end
of the season.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
LaVar.

Speaker 11 (22:28):
For me, I'll focus on the pitching Furst. I think
that the teams that are going to sell pitching, like
the Tigers, like the Blue Jays, potentially they're in.

Speaker 8 (22:39):
Good fortune here.

Speaker 11 (22:40):
Because teams that are motivated to win, like the Dodgers,
like the Orioles, the Padres, potentially they're all in the
market for one more arm. I would even add the
Astros of that conversation too, because of the injuries that
they have encountered that Houston probably wants to get a
starting pitcher as well on the offensive side.

Speaker 8 (23:00):
One team that.

Speaker 11 (23:01):
Has never reached the World Series and that has not
won a round in the postseason since two thousand and one.
In terms of winning a division.

Speaker 8 (23:11):
Series, they won a wild Card series, but not a
division series.

Speaker 11 (23:14):
That's the Seattle Mariners, and the Seattle Maritors for me,
they have what everyone wants. They have a young, relatively
healthy rotation that's very good, and what they need is offense.
And so I think that the Seattle Maritors for me,
at a time where maybe getting offense is not the
easiest thing to do, they're the team that has to

(23:36):
get a bat because of just how good they're pitching is.
So I think Seattle should go full force into looking
for offense.

Speaker 8 (23:44):
And you don't have to get you don't have to
go for.

Speaker 11 (23:46):
A Pete Alonso or vlad Guerrero Junior to upgrade your
line up, even though I'm sure they would love that
both those guys. I think even a moderate upgrade for
the Mariners would be meaningful and would represent, I think,
exactly what that team needs at a time where they've
got the pitching, They've got the healthy pitching that everybody
wants to have, so capitalize on it, go for it,

(24:07):
and trying to bring some playoff baseball.

Speaker 8 (24:09):
There to the Emerald City.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
JP want to ask you about the A's and their
future move to I guess Las Vegas, just because I
was out there this past week for some stuff, but
more specifically in the short term, their move to Sacramento
to play some of these games. I know there's been
some issues drawn to, you know, how they're going to
schedule games for both a Major League Baseball team as

(24:33):
well as a minor league team, and the fact that,
you know, due to the different broadcast right issues that
the A's may have to play more of these games
in the hot afternoon weather where it's been triple digits,
and the fuel conditions that have been a bit of
a conservative some of these players, at least in recent
light of what's happening with the Blue Jays one of
their players.

Speaker 5 (24:52):
Having some issues due to that.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
I mean, is there an idea that the l MLBPA
may it in regards to start times or how the
scheduling is.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Going to work.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
I mean, I know it's early on in this process,
but it feels like it's already becoming a concern.

Speaker 11 (25:09):
You know, Brady, it's an excellent point. I do think
it is a concern for the union. I'm sure we'll
hear from Tony Clark, who's the executive director of the
MVPA next week at the All Star Game. It typically
has a media availability and I'm sure he'll be asked
about it, and we'll probably get a little more specific
to that point in time on what his greatest concerns are.

(25:29):
But you're right, steel conditions, a lot of the back
of the house amenities and making sure that everything weight room,
nutrition training areas, that those are all up to a
major league standard. The ballpark and Sacramento is undergoing renovations
as or at least scheduled two has some improvements to
make sure that they can host major league games by

(25:50):
next season.

Speaker 8 (25:51):
But the start time is real.

Speaker 11 (25:54):
The temperatures, especially in the afternoon, that that is a
real concern and that has a meaning full impact on
player health, well being fans. I mean, it's the heat
wave that we're seeing around the country right now. In
extreme weather is a real thing that people have to
acknowledge and it's something that we all have to reckon
with here. So I do think to your point that

(26:16):
moving east into Sacramento, it's a warmer climate, a different
certainly area of California to where there are some concerns there.
So it's a very very valid, valid question and concern
that you're raising, Brady. I think that we'll hear more
about it in the coming weeks, and I think MLB
now has to after I think what was a difficult

(26:37):
decision to leave Oakland. There was so much back and
forth for so many years about why the ballpark wasn't
getting built. We could talk about that for three hours.
But I think in general, once they've made that choice
and close that door now, really it's incumbent on MLB
and the organization to come up with a solution that
agreeable to the union. And to your point, Brady, we're
still waiting to hear a lot of specifics in that regard.

Speaker 6 (27:00):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 9 (27:01):
I'm gonna revisit the Dodgers h JP just just how
has the show hey Atani the addition, how has that
impacted the Dodgers this season?

Speaker 6 (27:17):
Like, what's your take on it?

Speaker 11 (27:19):
Well, I think he he's delivered exactly what they hoped
he would in terms of his production on the field.

Speaker 8 (27:25):
He's he's been.

Speaker 11 (27:26):
Batting lead off lately with Mookie on the injured list,
at that quality has been extraordinary. He might very easily
win the MVP this year again, which is remarkable, even
though he's not pitching this season. So he's he's been
everything that they've dreamed of in more. On the field,
of course, he's rehabbing the the arm surgery, so he's

(27:47):
likely to come back and pitch next season as a
as a consistent starting pitcher they believed, and then off
the field, LeVar, it is remarkable how the Dodgers have
been able to monetize his marketability, his presence for a while,
it's sort of been something it seemed like in March
and in April, like every other week they were announcing

(28:10):
more and more sponsorships with Japanese companies and global brands
and expanding their marketing reach. You look at if you're
at Dodger Stadium, you look out and just see how.

Speaker 8 (28:21):
Many different companies are represented there.

Speaker 11 (28:23):
From a marketing standpoint, really is extraordinary what they've been
able to do. And to be honest, they've probably been
able to monetize his brand and their own brand in
a way that almost no other franchise could have because
of just the ease of that cultural connection between Hill
in California and Japan. So it's just it's a remarkable

(28:44):
thing that they've been able to do. And and now
I think it's the big irony of all of this
is that he has been as brilliant as they could
possibly ask for. Offensively, the only thing they would probably
say is, Hey, we'd love it if you could pitch too.
Of course he can't, but that is exactly what they
need right now. Is the one thing that he can't
do until twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
Yeah, man, he is such a talented player.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
I mean even from people talk about the hitting and pitch,
even like stealing bases, just everything right. He is a
generational talent. He has been as advertised JP. Before I
let you go, I want to ask you one more question.
I know the trade deadline is like three weeks away,
roughly something like that. It's kind of twofold one. How
much activity do you think we will see here leading
up in the next three weeks or is this more

(29:30):
of like, hey, the week before, we'll see more stuff happening.
And then maybe give me like a couple teams that
are buyers or sellers right now. Obviously I'd live in
South Florida, so I feel like with the Marlins the
way they start off the season, they're probably a seller
at this point.

Speaker 11 (29:41):
Safe to say, yes, yes, yeah, Brady, I would say
that your hometown Marlins, that they'll probably keep moving some
players out. Jazz Chisholm's name has been in the trade
rumors here a little bit recently here. I know he's
a lot of fun to watch. Yeah, the Yankees. The
Yankees are among the teams with interest in him. You
know one team that I think has become a seller

(30:04):
because they just really struggled of late, somewhat mystifyingly this season.
The Chicago Cubs, bottom of the National League Central Cody
Bellger just went on the injured list, so he may
be hard to move at this point in time. They
could probably trade Jamis and Tayan and a couple others,
just based on where their needs are at the moment
and how they've played. I think the Cubs are sellers.

(30:25):
The Mets, actually, for a while I thought they were
going to be sellers with Pete Alonzo, but they played
too well, so I think Pete's probably going to say put.
The Blue Jays are trending in the selling direction. You
might hear something about Blad Guerrero Junior or Boba Chet.

Speaker 8 (30:38):
I think those are all teams to watch in the
selling area.

Speaker 11 (30:41):
I do think the aggressive buyers Baltimore, the Dodgers, the
Padres are always hyperactive, that they love to make moves.
They're a fun team to follow us. I think the
Padres will probably make some trades too. And the last
thing I'll say about the timing of all this is
the MLB Draft, is we've got a very unique sport
and that we're the only sport that has the draft
in the middle of our own season, which is very

(31:03):
unique because of the way the NCAA schedule works et cetera.
So a lot of front offices, what I've called people
this week, they said, John, you know right now, I
know you want to talk trades, but we're we're focused
on the draft right now and that that wraps up
early next week. So I think once we get through
the All Star break, then the trade conversations will pick
up in earnest, But for now, it seems like a

(31:24):
lot of those trade rumblings are a little bit on
pause for a few days while teams make sure they're
making the right decisions in the MLB Draft, which begins
Sunday on MLB Network.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
Awesome, JP, thank you so much as always always given
us all the latest around the Major League, and right
now there's no one better than you, brothers, So I
appreciate you taking that on this morning.

Speaker 11 (31:45):
I appreciate you, guys. But my only request to you
guys that we got to get the Penn State Notre
Dame football rivalry back going again, and you go to
work on that, then I'll feel really good about it.
We gotta we gotta find some matchups between these two great,
great institutions.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
Like you know, that's that's a great point. Keep lobbying
from Michigan to JP. I mean, I want to brings back.
I just that's a whole other conversation. And you know what,
I'll say this, I will take the blame as the
Notre Dame a love. Yes, take why that probably hasn't
been the case because we are the independent involved where
Michigan Penn State of obviously gotten to see each other.

(32:22):
But we'll see how much that happens. But again, thank
you for your time. We'll talk to you next week.

Speaker 11 (32:26):
Appreciate you, JAP have your weekend, guys.

Speaker 8 (32:28):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (32:28):

You're going to get a satation for unnecessary backseat use.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
Could you image enough? By the way?

Speaker 4 (34:42):
Unnecessary side note Levar's The unofficial account was one and
a half to.

Speaker 5 (34:48):
Zero from the last segment. Let's let you know.

Speaker 6 (34:51):
Yeah, oh I know, I know, I know you won't.
I mean, you were you.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
Had two good ones, and I thought, for sure you
get one.

Speaker 6 (34:58):
Yeah, it's all good man. You know, it's something you
win some, you lose some.

Speaker 9 (35:03):
I I really thought I had it. I thought I
thought the first one was a lock.

Speaker 6 (35:07):
But you know what happened.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
I thought my last one was the best one. I asked,
I got.

Speaker 5 (35:10):
Nothing for that one?

Speaker 6 (35:11):
You got?

Speaker 5 (35:12):
I was. I was like, dang, all right, well.

Speaker 6 (35:16):
It was always next time.

Speaker 3 (35:17):
All right, U Lee, what do we got it? She's sticky?
What are we doing here?

Speaker 7 (35:21):
Well, we actually have stuff in action at the at Wimbledon.
We've got Medvedev versus Alcaaz out.

Speaker 4 (35:27):
Yeah, come on, man, dude Alcaz that's a great match
up to Medvedev, could could give him some issues, but
dude al Choraz is on a different level.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (35:35):
Well, Medvedev's already you know, took out Cinner, who was
the number one ranked, and uh so, yeah it would be.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
How was he ahead of Djokovic?

Speaker 6 (35:42):
Who?

Speaker 3 (35:43):
Uh? Who?

Speaker 7 (35:44):
Who Sinner? Because I guess he's won of you this year?
Out now I'm in And then of course, and then
that one it's on right now, just started and you're out,
I mean after this and then after we got jokes.

Speaker 6 (36:00):
I didn't even know it was. I watched that as couple.

Speaker 7 (36:04):
Right, So, semifinals, the end of the finals on Sunday
after that. You know, today is the start of Summer
League in Las Vegas, and of course we talked about
it a little earlier. We got Houston versus Los Angeles,
a number of other games you guys enter out on
Summer League.

Speaker 6 (36:16):
In Vegas watching Brownie.

Speaker 4 (36:19):
I'll tell you what, dude, it was actually really cool
being out there just you know, not that I'm around
the NBA that often, but we saw a lot of
folks around the basketball community. Uh, they've got a very
tight knit community, a good thing going on as far
as you know, coaches, players, just everyone involved around it.
It's just it was a really cool deal. Family oriented.

(36:39):
Saw a lot of you know, families out there coming out.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Past players and stuff too.

Speaker 4 (36:43):
I thought it was extremely neat, and I guess it's
easier to do that when you have smaller teams compared
to the NFL, where you have, you know, thousands of
players each year.

Speaker 5 (36:51):
But that was cool I'm.

Speaker 7 (36:52):
In all right, Genesis Scottish Open as is already underway
with Ludwig. Uh, Ludwig's in the aug Yeah, thank.

Speaker 6 (37:00):
You, yea.

Speaker 5 (37:00):
Why are you wait? We're on a first hand basis
with him.

Speaker 7 (37:03):
Oh, because I forgot how to Auburn.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
That's the easier part. You're getting like all fans of
nude big, Yeah, we're doing.

Speaker 7 (37:12):
I got the first name, you got last name.

Speaker 4 (37:14):
I'll tell you what you got to the crap closet
three times and a show and all of a sudden
you've got an accent and everything else.

Speaker 7 (37:18):
Huh. I always have an access.

Speaker 5 (37:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
Where's Rory at Rory won it last year?

Speaker 7 (37:26):
Right, that is correct.

Speaker 5 (37:28):
I's got to be in the mix here, Yeah I was.

Speaker 7 (37:30):
I had it up. I'm not sure where he's right today.

Speaker 6 (37:33):
Here's where I got it. Here's I got it right here?
Right we're out, yeah, right there it is.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
You'll like knowing this. It's the Scottish Open, and then
it's the British Open.

Speaker 4 (37:46):
Scottish and then British a little bit difference, and there's uh.

Speaker 6 (37:51):
And.

Speaker 7 (37:54):
Rory's time for twenty six take off rightom he is
five undercurrently, guys, it's Amazon Prime Day early this year.
You guys enter out on Amazons.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
Always Prime Day, isn't it.

Speaker 7 (38:09):
I know, I think they have two a year, And.

Speaker 5 (38:13):
Yeah, I'm not. Well, maybe i'll order something. I don't know.

Speaker 6 (38:15):
I'm in even though I don't want to be in.

Speaker 3 (38:18):
I'm in because Prime Big gets you discounts or something, a.

Speaker 7 (38:21):
Bunch of discounts. I've gotten a roombo once with the
floor vacuum.

Speaker 9 (38:25):
I have Amazon Prime packages at least three times, four
times a day, so I guess I'm in even if
it is an Amazon Prime Day.

Speaker 7 (38:33):
Yeah, there's definitely something getting bought.

Speaker 6 (38:35):
We got we get so many packages here.

Speaker 9 (38:37):
Yesterday we got chains for your your tires sent to
the house.

Speaker 6 (38:42):
We order so much.

Speaker 9 (38:43):
They accidentally sent chains for the tires so we don't
live in a snow infect Oh maybe.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
It's a foreshadowing.

Speaker 6 (38:51):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
We've got time for one more, a little yeah, good
one today.

Speaker 7 (38:56):
It's I know you love this one, Brady. It's National
French Friday. What is your favorite kind of French fry?

Speaker 4 (39:02):
Underrated to me? A sweet psato. But uh, he's got
to do them right. You gotta cook him the right oils.

Speaker 7 (39:07):
I like steak, fries and boardwalk.

Speaker 9 (39:10):
I'm going boardwalk fries, boardwalk, freshly cut boardwalk. Yeah, like
they you know, you put them in the dip and
then you pull the thing down and then they split.

Speaker 6 (39:19):
And you drop.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
You gotta put them in the dip.

Speaker 6 (39:20):
Yes, salted gota dead drop them in
