This is I mean, I don't understand, Like, hey, man,
the emails you put in your request, I got no
response from Veto.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
It's just it's the lax of days ago approach to
the show.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
To be honest with you, Q, I'm very disappointed in you, bro,
just like I.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Don't know what you want me to do here. I'm
literally gonna put Lee on the email as well. I
me Emil Fido again. I'm gonna put you guys on
it as well.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Oh my gosh, Brandon.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
By the way, Lee stepped away for a minute. He's uh,
he's putting something together for us. Well, no, but at
some point we do need to have a talk with
him about the power outage yesterday because, uh, nobody's got
worse luck than Lee, especially lately. So he had a
full blown power outage in the building.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Is he having a power on it right now?

Speaker 4 (01:32):
No, he's actually not on the Uh he's not on
the pot. He's actually over there, uh piecing something together
for us. So yeah, a lot going on there with this,
but it is two pros and a cup of Joe

So we've been talking about the Devonte Adams potential of
heading to the Jets to team back up with Aaron Rodgers,

(02:17):
who he said, listen of all the people I could
team up with it would be Rogers. I mean, let's
not forget he did mention in that clip with Shannon Sharp.
You know Derek Carr, So maybe you know the New
Orleans Saints could be a possibility as well too. But
you know, we'll see what what we've got as far
as you know the betting odds on that we're trying
to effort DeVante Adams next team odds what that looks like.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
But if you believe you already put on another team, well,
I'm just.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
You know, it feels like the writing is on the wall.
You know he's gonna think it.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
I mean it's I mean, if if only we had
an inside source. We've talked about this at length, if
only we could figure it a way into.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
The Raiders' facility.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
Yeah, I mean somebody.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
I'll say that.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
They respect the hell out of one another, Davante and
Peace and or coach coach Pierce, and I think he
I think he's got I mean, if you asking me,
I'm gonna tell you, if you you know you want
shout him out, I could just let you shout him out.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
You know, I do not get the I.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
Max Crosby was in the same type of conversations like
if certain things didn't go the way that he had wanted,
he wanted out. He was really wanting to get traded
from the Raiders. That there were a lot, I mean,
their main players were not happy being there. They weren't
happy with the way things were being done, how they

(03:44):
were being handled, and and just there was just a
discord with with how you know, the players felt. In fact,
it was even with the coaching staff as well. So
I think the cultural ship that took place when Antonio
Pierce took over to answer the question, I mean the conversations,

(04:08):
the few conversations that I've brought up about the team
when we've been together, And one of the specific questions
I asked was about Max Crosby and about DeVante Adams,
because those are your two major players on the team,
And I was like, well, how do you feel about your.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Star players and then where they're at?

Speaker 5 (04:27):
And I just know his response was he respects the
hell out of them, and he feels as though the
way they ended the season the respect factor that he
was able to garner with them, and them in particular
showed up in terms of how they handled things as leaders.
Both in the meeting rooms, on the practice field, and

(04:50):
ultimately on the playing field. He basically said those were
the main guys that were leading the charge on competing.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
He said, they weren't compete in practice.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
There wasn't there wasn't a level of intensity and approach
to preparing for the games that was on the level
of a high level of being competitive during the week.
And that was what he That was what he said,
and I think that he he basically I think the
conclusion of it for me was is that these guys

(05:24):
loved competing and challenging one another and leading.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
He gave them the opportunity to lead.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
They started leading, and those things became kind of the
culture of what they you know, they finished out the
season with and and it was it was pretty cool
because he was talking about how you know, Marcus Allen
was and he had a who's who of former players
in the.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Locker room after after.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
Their last game, I believe, and and he just basically said,
like Marcus Allen came up to him and said, like,
this is has never happened. You know, I've never felt
like this, you know, in terms of being welcomed in
the locker room and being welcomed around the players and
stuff like that. So I think the idea of Antonio
peers understanding what it feels like to be a Super

(06:17):
Bowl champ, to be a football player, to be a captain,
and to be a leader on a team. His ability
to relate to the players, I think it's a tremendous
asset for what Mark Davis was able to get in
making him the head coach of the team. Now, how
that plays out, I don't know, but I think there
is a buy in from the guys, and I think

(06:37):
there's a genuine feeling from guys like Devonte Adams that
them together they have a strong chance of being competitive.
I just think that it was all about the quarterback situation.
That would be the biggest question mark in all of it.
Because I talked to him pre draft, I didn't really
talk to him post draft, so I don't know what
that really means in terms of social.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Pre draft though, it couldn't have been what they were.

Speaker 5 (07:02):
Hoping Yeah, no, no, no, it wasn't what they were
hoping for. I mean, I mean now that it's water
under the bridge, it's water under the bridge. You know
he wanted everybody knows. It's not military secret. He wanted
Jaydon Daniels. He wanted Jaydon Daniels, and and and for
what it's worth. Everything else was going to the tang

(07:26):
that for what it's worth.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
So of the Giants, well the Jets, the Jets.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Well they got a Daniel Daniels.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
You know they might have also if Devonte Adams ends
up with the New York Jets. Some people will say, well,
maybe the connection is Aaron Rodgers obviously, and that's why, well,
you know, it could have also been Derek Carr, because
if you listen to Derek Carr, who was on with
pardon my take, it was very close to being Derek
Carr in New York potentially reuniting with Devonte Adam instead

(08:00):
of a rod The.

Speaker 6 (08:01):
Thing which was different in that situation, like you know,
Aaron's a nine billion time MVP, right and all that
kind of stuff, but you still have to trade for him,
whereas I'm free. And so that situation. I remember sitting
there with Sala. He's like, look, man, we'd love to
have you. Like it's like up to you, you know.
I was like, I would love to make that decision
right now, because Robert saw it is he is like

(08:23):
I am like probably his biggest fan. Like I absolutely
ten out of ten leve him. Would run through a
wall for him, even if he's not my coach. I'd
still like if he was like I need to do this, yes, sir,
I would do it. Yeah. And so like that whole situation.
That was the hardest thing because my brother knew coach
Sala and he was like, he knew I love New Orleans,
but he's like, you're going to see Sala.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
He was like, you're probably going to stay.

Speaker 6 (08:42):
And I remember going there and I was like, I
promised myself I had to go through the process because
I didn't want to sign and then think, well, what
did that team think right or what could they do?

Speaker 7 (08:50):
You know?

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Yeah, so you could have made the decision right there.
It was it was in your court. They were like,
we want you.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
To be the quarterback.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
I could have.

Speaker 6 (08:57):
Yeah, I could have, but there was it wasn't the
right time for me because I had there was still
like four or five teams that I had to hear from, right,
and so it just it ended up working out, you know,
for really.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
For both of us.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
So that was Derek carr on with pardon my take,
talking about potentially being a New York Jet last year,
so probably could have Like if that was the case,
would Rogers just have retired?

Speaker 1 (09:22):
That's what's interesting about it is is he he would
have had to find another suitor, right, Yeah, I mean,
I assume unless the Jets really were just like, yeah,
we're willing to move on from Derek Carr. But Derek
Carr is you know, when he signed in New Orleans,
like he was looking for a more of a long
term deal. So that'd be a lot of capital I've
wrapped up into quarterbacks.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
I don't think they would have done that, but it's
interesting to think what could have been with the New
York Jets. Either way. You know, probably would have listen
and I'll look, if we're being honest, it.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Probably would have ended the same way.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
If being honest, well, I don't think.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
I mean, outside of an Achilles.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
Neither neither team, the Jets or the Saints were anything
close to what people thought they were last year. The
Saints were overwhelming favorites in the division to win the
NFC South, the Jets. Everybody had all this optimism.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
With the difference is Derek Carr was healthy last year.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Yeah, that's the difference.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
He didn't you make You can't make the comparison when
one lost their started the other one was healthy.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
He missed how many games? Two games missed? Yeah? I
thought he missed.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
I believe he started all seventeen.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
Didn't Jameis Winston start?

Speaker 6 (10:29):
It?

Speaker 4 (10:29):
Wasn't he the reason why there was a near fight
at the final game of the season between Dennis Allen
and Arthur Smith.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
I think you're thinking of two years ago for the Saints,
but Carr wasn't there yet.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
I'm almost positive Carr missed a game, all right, because
I know he got hurt and he left a game
last year, and.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Maybe he started all seventeen.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
I know that, okay, because I know he got hurt
in one of those games.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
So there was a few on you could fact check, Lee,
Can we fact check how many games Derek Carr started
for New Orleans last year?

Speaker 3 (10:57):
Yeah? Lee?

Speaker 8 (11:00):
Oh yeah, there is started all the all games last Well,
he did sustain a concussion in Week thirteen versus Lions.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
He came Did he start all the games last year?

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Okay? Did he miss any games? Did he come out early?

Speaker 4 (11:15):
He came out early in three games?

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (11:18):
Well he bounced back though he did what was their
record Lee nine and eight?

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Hmm? What were the Jets record? Seven and ten?

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Okay, not a whole lot of difference.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
I mean none, none is I mean, yeah, you know,
I don't know. I don't know. What did you say?

Speaker 4 (11:42):
I don't know the projection.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
I just think that you don't really have much.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
It's not really much on this.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
One, huh.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
I mean, I think they win nine games with with
Derek Carr at quarterback in New York, you know, yeah,
I guess I think that win nine games with Aaron
Rodgers next year in New York.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Here's the difference is. I don't think it's about how
many regular season games they win. I think it's about
the thought of can that quarterback when you a super Bowl?
We've seen Rogers when when move forward, we've seen him
get to conference championship games. You know, that's more of
the question. I think there's more of a question of
that there a Carr than there is if Rogers.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Is a quarterback.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
Well, clearly car has not proven that he's a quarterback
that can take his his team to the Promised Land.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
That far kind of a rough spot.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
I was gonna say, he was like the only thing
keeping that team afloat.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
Well, you know they got talent in New York. But
that's still a rough spot until it's not That's that's
all I'm gonna say. That's still a rough spot till
it's not over under over under win totals. What do
you think they'll be this year? I think they get
nine wins. I think that'll be right around. They'll hover

(13:03):
right around that nine wins. So do they make the playoffs?
I told you, I don't think they're going to make
the playoffs. Wow, I don't think they will.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
Make it a lot of disrespect, man, Why is that disrespect?

Speaker 3 (13:14):
Now?

Speaker 4 (13:14):
I thought you and were better than that.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
I do.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
I'd love me some, o, lou, But what does that
have to do with anything. I love Sas Gardner. I
think his game is dope. I like I like a
lot of players on this team. Bryce Hall is a baller. Yeah,
I mean I like the team. But I mean I again,
there's no there's no indicator that talent is going to

(13:41):
overcome what the Jets have been other than if you
want to go all the way back to ground and
pound with Rex Rex Ryan and Toegate and all that stuff.
If you want to go back that far and say, okay,
talent overcame culture there, and then okay, we could do that.
I wouldn't be a bad I wouldn't be opposed to that.
But that's been a while.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Toe Gate. He didn't commit any violations. The guy's got
a foot fetish. Can't judge him for that.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Okay, all right, that's fine.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
Listen, some some people use banaka, some pele used to an acting.
You know, I don't think we did. Just sit here
in judgment of Rex Ryan. Let him do what he
wants to do. I think the more egregious move was
getting Mark Sanchez tattooed on his arm like that was
a little bit off, I think. But listen, Rex is

(14:28):
doing fine. You know is he is still at ESPN.
I think he's back at ESPN for another year if
I'm not mistaken, So you know he'll be there. Uh,
you know, spitting hot takes him and Robert Solo, by
the way, I think had a little bit of a
dust up last year as well too.

Speaker 5 (14:43):
I wonder how hot the seat gets for Robert Salah
during the season if if my thought process is correct, like,
at what point, because if you know you're you're you're
heading for nine win season. It looks as though it
could be a nine win season. What like if you

(15:06):
don't get off, is it what at midway point? If
they're not winning early on? How hot does Deceit gift
for Sala? Does he make the season? Let's let's just
work from a betting standpoint.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
So if you look at their schedule right now for
this upcoming season, yep, the first game of the season,
I believe the opening line right now, they're a five
and a half point underdog at San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
All right.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
If you looked at their schedule right now, in the
betting odds, they are not an underdog again until December eighth,
at Miami they're a two and a half point dog.
Then outside of that, they are a favorite in every
single game after that. So whatever that tells you, But

(15:55):
those are the betting odds, and in fact, looking at
the entirety of their schedule, their own an underdog in
three contests. That's at Buffalo, at Miami, and then at
San Francisco. The rest they're a favorite, with the exception
of one game at Jacksonville. I believe right now it's
it's even money.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Take the dogs.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
Yeah, well, listen to me.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
You want want some money, Listen to me, man, So
you know their bet their their betting favorites.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Take the hots.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
You guys love talking about Rogers and the Jets. Man,
you guys can't get enough.

we're going to close up shop with another edition of
You In or You Out. But right now, Albert Breers
in Senior NFL reporter, lead content strategist at the MMQB
and you can get him on Twitter or ex at
Albert Breer a B. Good morning, how you feeling?

Speaker 7 (18:04):
That was some rock solid re entry music there?

Speaker 4 (18:08):
What was that? What was that? Lorena?

Speaker 7 (18:10):
It was taken to the limit.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
Yes, Scarfaces intro music to the game. That was like
Albert brer in high school.

Speaker 7 (18:16):
Yeah, that's right, that's.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
Right, Albert. So best guess how does this end up
with both Davante Adams and Brandon Ayuk.

Speaker 7 (18:28):
I think I think I still, like they said, as
he plays for the Niners. This year, and they've got
their eye on keeping him long term. I don't think
Davante Adams is going to be a Raider in twenty
twenty five, and I think there's a chance that he
is somewhere else earlier than that. You know, I just
I look at it, and you know, like a lot

(18:50):
of people look at the contract and say, well, you know,
they have him for the next few years. They do.
But his contracts a lot like a lot of the
contracts that were signed that offseason two years ago, where
there were artificial numbers. Tyreek's contract was this way. There
are a few of them where you know, there are
artificial numbers in the back end to pump up the average.

(19:10):
And so I can't I can't remember exactly what the
number is on the back end of Adam's contract starting
next year, but it's like thirty five or forty million.
It's a number he's not going to play for. And so,
you know, I think ultimately what winds up happening here is,
you know, with the Raiders rebuilding a little bit, my
guess would be they'll eventually come to a point before

(19:32):
the trade deadline where they at least explore the idea
of moving him, and you know, whether or not that happens,
we'll see, you know, obviously, you know, he he does have,
you know, a big contractual number that another team would
have to take on. But you know, I think with
the Raiders rebuilding a little bit, new head coach, new
general manager, they're not in a win now spot in

(19:56):
any way. You know, he's aging, and then teams obviously
like the Jets out there, they could use him. You know.
I think you'll eventually get to, you know, a tension
point where where they'll at least look very seriously at
the idea of trading, and whether that's before the cutdown
or before the trade deadline, I think at some point
they're going to at least look at it. And I

(20:16):
don't think he's gonna be on the Raiders roster in
twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Yeah, but we were talking earlier about Caleb Williams. He
signs his rookie deal, but just some of the things
he was trying to accomplish or or do that maybe
we haven't seen before in these rookie contracts. I was saying,
I love the fact that he's pushing the envelope of
opening people's minds to like how they could potentially do business,
but kind of take us through some of the reasons
why I guess it didn't work out when it was

(20:41):
all said done, and trying to get you know, elimination
of the franchise tag and LC and all.

Speaker 7 (20:45):
That well, because he doesn't have the leverage to pull
it off right now, you know. And I do think, like.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
Wait, that's that's all on. That's the only reason, like
you're selling technically you could be paid as an LLC
as a football player in the NFL.

Speaker 7 (21:03):
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I was talking about the
franchise tax thing. But you know, I like, I there's
a I mean, obviously there's a slotting system in place.
I don't I'm not I'm not well read enough on
the LLC thing, Brady. I'll just I'll play guilty on that.
I mean, I do think like, this is a kid
who thinks differently, and obviously his dad thinks differently, you know.

(21:27):
At the same time, you know, I think that they
know that, you know, in three years, the quarterback market
could be up at sixty sixty five, seventy million dollars
per year, you know, and and getting going to that
and getting going to to get yourself in a place
where you're going to be able to to perform at

(21:50):
the level where you're you're pulling down that number in
twenty twenty seven or twenty twenty eight really should be
the goal all along. So I think the stuff here,
you know, like as far as franchise tags and all
that other stuff as ancillary to getting him in a
position to play really well as a rookie, which sets

(22:11):
the stage for a really strong three years, which puts
him in a position to get a big deal like
that when he first becomes eligible, you know, in the
off season of twenty twenty seven. So I think that's
really what it is. But you know, over the course
of the negotiation, again, he's a kid who does think
a little bit differently, and you know, I think he's
always been that way. His dad is a very smart businessman,

(22:33):
and so it doesn't surprise me they tried to push
the envelope on certain things.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
Abe.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
We've been playing clips off of Heart Knocks with the
New York Giants.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
I played for the Giants.

Speaker 5 (22:44):
I think very highly of the Mirror and Tis family
thought that they ran a very very fine operation and
gave me the opportunity to feel like I actually had
an NFL career with competent people running the team.

Speaker 7 (23:00):
Does it seems like that's that's supposed to mean?

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Well, it just is what it is.

Speaker 5 (23:03):
I mean, it's just I'm just speaking off of my
own experience that one that little bit of time.

Speaker 7 (23:09):
What's that versus versus versus something else experience versus versus
something else that I experience?

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Right?

Speaker 5 (23:16):
Uh, obviously I had a comparison, but it doesn't seem
like that that's the team. I remember by listening to
these sound bites and seeing how things are being handled,
what's what's your interpretation of how things are going right
now and the things that we're hearing coming out of
the Giants organization right now.

Speaker 7 (23:37):
Yeah, you know, I think this is sort of the
pitfalls of doing you know, hard knocks offseason. I I
it's a very different thing than doing the training camp
hard knocks or doing the end season hard knocks, you know,
where those are really self contained, you know, I mean,
the prominent players on your team and training camp aren't
going anywhere. You're not dealing with other teams quite as

(24:00):
or other team's business quite as much during training camps.
So you have an ability to kind of contain and
control the storylines, you know, and the off season is
different than that. In the off season, you know, you're
there are prominent players on your team who may be
on their way out. You know, there are other teams
that you're dealing with, and you're going to be dealing
with their business as well as yours. You're going to

(24:21):
be talking about players that aren't going to be on
your team. You might be talking about players that maybe
you're going to try and go get or fail to get.
There are all these different kind of tentacles to the
off season, and I think part of that and part
of what everybody's seeing is the tough discussions that you
have to have sometimes to get to the right answer.
And this is something that I talked to people there about,

(24:41):
you know, like a coup few weeks ago, when we
were talking about this whole thing and how it's going
to be presented and how it's going to come out.
At that point, they had no idea what it was
going to look like. But the real concern I got
from those guys is like, you know, you have to
have hard, honest conversations about players, about aspects about of
your team to get to the right answers. You can't
sit there trying to be polite about it, you know.

(25:03):
And if you're going to put together a show that's
really going to reflect what the off season is like,
it's hard to leave that stuff out, you know. So
you have all of these uncomfortable conversations, and I it
makes me wonder, you know. And I haven't circled back
with a ton of those guys yet since the last
couple of episodes have aired, but you know, I think
a lot of the stuff they were concerned about is

(25:24):
in there, you know, And so I do wonder how much.
You know, guys who are in that show are gritting
their seats right now and like, man, I like, I
maybe we shouldn't have done this, you know. And I
think it's if you're another team you're looking at and
look like, just to be clear, it's great content. I
think we all love watching it. It's all really really
interesting to see. But you know, if you're another team,

(25:46):
would you sign up for this? I don't think so? Right,
what do you guys think?

Speaker 4 (25:51):
I Like my thought on it is the NFL is
the one league that doesn't need this access, Like we've
got enough. I've got the Netflix shows, You've got all that.
If you did the NBA to to grow their product,
or the WNBA or somebody else like the MLB, whatever,
that makes sense to me. We've got enough of the
NFL covered that. I mean, this makes Joe Shane look terrible,

(26:13):
like it makes the Giants look so bad, like your
owners saying well, if he goes to this team, I'm
gonna be sick. And you've got the GM saying well,
I think that's all just a smoke screen oops, like
and then it all comes out afterwards. I just I
don't know why, to your point, anybody would want to
sign up for it, or why the NFL needs Hard
Knocks anymore.

Speaker 7 (26:34):
Yeah, And you know, like and here's the other thing
is like it's not like it's the only options to
teams either. You know, there is some benefit like and
kind of like furnishing your brand and and giving fans
a look at like you know what they're rooting for.
There's there's there's benefits that there's benefit for the players,
like you know, like the training camp Hard Knocks I
think has been helpful over the years for certain players

(26:55):
and building their brand and and making themselves more marketable.
All that exists, but you don't have to do it
through this anymore, you know what I mean. Like players
have their own social media accounts, they have their own
in some cases own have like production crews that they
work with. You know. The teams all have their own
in house operations. So if the team wants to open

(27:15):
the doors to the fans and show them different things,
well they can certainly do that by working through their
in house people, and then they have complete control over
what goes in there and what doesn't go in there. Yeah,
I mean, I think it's It's interesting because I was
having this conversation with somebody yesterday, somebody in the league yesterday,
and we were talking about it, and it's like, this

(27:37):
was such unique content in like eight and nine and
ten and eleven, and you look forward to it because
there just wasn't a lot of it out there, And
you're right, Jonas, I mean, it's everywhere now, like there's
just it's not as unique or special as it was.
And so I think that forces like the HBO people,
the NFL films people to push the envelope further and further.
And as you do that, I think you're breaking the

(27:59):
trust with the teams, which is the basis of the
NFL films relationships with the teams to begin with. So
I think there's going to be, you know, some interesting
discussion that's coming out of this, and and and and
and maybe maybe even some big picture discussion about what
they all and what they want all this to look
like going forward.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Albert, I gotta ask you about just Brandon Aiyuk. He's
publicly declared that he wants to be traded. He's went
in the final year, his fifth year with the team
on his rookie deal. Yeah, who are some potential suitors?
And do you think this thing gets done before the
season starts?

Speaker 7 (28:31):
Yeah? I mean everybody brings up Washington because there's obvious
connections there. The GM Adam Peters, you know, was part
of drafting Brandon Ayuk and was with them in San
Francisco the last four years. Obviously, Jayden Daniels has the
relationship with Ayuk as well. Pittsburgh hasn't needed the position.
He is a stylistic fit. Pittsburgh's never gone outside the

(28:52):
organization really to fill the receiver position. In fact, the
last time Pittsburgh's like leading receiver was not a home
row player, believe it or not, was in World Wars,
was during World War Two, so they've never gone outside
for a star receiver. It'd be interesting if they looked
at that. You know, I think teams like New England
that that that that have quarterbacks on rookie contracts could

(29:14):
look at it too and say, like, this is the
opportunity to do what the Bills did with Stefan Diggs
when Josh Allen was young, to do what you know,
what the what the what the Chiefs did with Patrick
Mahomes and they loaded up around him when he was
on his rookie deal, bringing in guys like Sammy Watkins
to supplement. You're Tyreek Kills and your Travis Kelcey. So

(29:35):
you know, I and I say all that when I
like with the with again in the caveat that, I
still think the likelihood is that I you can the
Niners find a middle ground and find out find a
way to get a deal done. It got way more
complicated because when Justin Jefferson the deal got done because
that escalated the market in a big way. But you know,

(29:59):
I the Niners have shown a real desire to keep him.
I think they would keep him long term over Deebo Samuel,
no question right now if they had their choice. They
were in this sort of situation with Deebo two years
ago and it was actually probably uglier than this one is,
and that got done last year, Like with Nick Bosa
went all the way up to I mean, damn near
the opener, and that got done. So they've been here before,

(30:22):
you know, And I think that they really there's a
very real desire to keep Brandon Ayuk. And I don't
think you get value for him if you trade. I
don't think you get full value for him if you
trade him right now. So I think he's going to
be a Niner in twenty twenty four, and I think
if they have their way, he'll be a Niner for
a lot longer than just that.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
Just one more for me, Uh, the CD Lamb.

Speaker 5 (30:45):
Since we're talking about all these receivers and stuff like that,
it seems like it's gotten kind of quiet in terms
of hitting into Ox and Art for Dallas. What are
are they any indicators that they'ld get CD Lamb done
or is he is this looking like an emminent holdout situation?

Speaker 7 (31:03):
I mean, I think he's the most pressing. Of the
of the three that we've talked about for the last
couple of months, La Bar, you know, between Dak and
Micah and CD, I think he's CD is probably the
most likely to hold out and carry hold out into
training camp, and I think CD is the most complicated. Now,
you know, quarterback contracts are always complicated, but I mean

(31:25):
a big part of that is just willing having a
willingness to go to the top of the market with Dak.
Same reason that the IU situation was complicated, the CD
situation is complicated too by the Justin Jefferson contract. So
if the Cowboys couldn't get anything done with CD when
the market was at twenty eight with Jalen Waddell and

(31:47):
i'm on Ross Saint Brown and Nico Collins and Devonte
Smith were getting done, Like can you can imagine what
having a thirty five million dollar contract, As much as
Justin Jefferson's better than all those guys, the thirty five
million dollar number does effect things. So do I think
things are going to get down in the next week. No,
do I think that things are going to get you know,

(32:08):
could be ugly to be in campys, you know, but
ultimately I think he's probably the first the three to
get a contract from doubt. He is the most pressing up.

Speaker 4 (32:17):
Get him on x at. Albert Breer, senior NFL reporter
at the MMQB lead content strategists as well to AB.

Speaker 8 (37:02):
Uh guys, it's July eighteenth, meaning it's Nelson Mandela Day,
because if it was his birthday. Are you guys enter
out on the Mandela effect? You know what the Mandela
effect is. It's where collectively, as a society, we kind
of remember something that really wasn't the way it was.
Like a lot of people believe Dilson Vendela died in
prison in the eighties, but really he died in twenty
thirteen or he was free.

Speaker 5 (37:23):
Yeah, absolutely, in jail or I don't know why this
would be an in or an out Some people know
are we being in or we've been out on?

Speaker 4 (37:31):
Are you in or out of jail?

Speaker 3 (37:33):
I'm deferring on this one.

Speaker 8 (37:35):
I'm like Logo Cornico, like some people think it does have.

Speaker 5 (37:42):
Yeah, I'm out on this question. Start drinking what happened
to I'm out on the question did you not drink
enough yesterday? I'm in on Nelson Mandela, but I'm out
on your question.

Speaker 8 (37:53):
Bro, Okay, you're out on the Mandela effect.

Speaker 5 (37:57):
I'm out on your question of about the question, don't
put my name, don't put my don't put me on that.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
And you know what I'm in. Does the monopoly guy
have a monocle?

Speaker 5 (38:09):
What the w T F are you talking about?

Speaker 4 (38:14):
Question?

Speaker 8 (38:14):
It's a question does the monopoly logo guy? Does he
have a monocle?

Speaker 3 (38:18):
I'm what is that?

Speaker 4 (38:19):
I didn't grow up with money. I never played monopoly.

Speaker 6 (38:24):
Says he does, but he didn't his eyeball.

Speaker 4 (38:27):
He does not.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
That's what it is.

Speaker 8 (38:28):
That's that's the Mendela effect. Or that Sinbad was starting
a movie called Shazam.

Speaker 4 (38:33):
I watched that movie.

Speaker 8 (38:34):
Nope, you didn't because it never existed. That's the Mendela effect. Alternate,
Oh my gosh, you have ever done? There's no sports, Brady,
there is sports.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Last night we watched the w n b A, the
NBA Summer.

Speaker 5 (38:52):
League on that soccer last l liquor caps in Africa,
Oh my god. Instead of Mandela, let's talk about liquor
cabinets in Africa.
