exact same way about his starting quarterback Dak Prescott. They
were in Oxnard yesterday, or his Brady likes to refer

Well, depending on who you ask, you know, you go
down the right street, you can find somebody who says it.

The point is Jerry Jones was talking yesterday. He says
he's used to this whole contract stuff with players that
want more money and it being in camp. Nothing new
to see here, and then he was asked about what
the future could look like with Dak Prescott.

Jerry, you mentioned about Dak potentially going to the final
of his contract, you being all in on this year,
him being all in on this season, has that allowed
you to think that just could be his last season
with the Cowboys.

I don't think so. Just to be very specific, I
do not think that this will be his last year
with the Cowboys at all. It's pretty clear, I think
I want to say it if it hadn't been clear
of how much we appreciate what Dak Prescott has meant
to this team in a positive way, and the players

do play better when he's out there. He does make
his teammates play at a higher level, There's no question
about it. So I'm right there in line with his
best with his best fan.

Yet still no deal after this year, and he's still
just kind of waiting around for his for his contract
to get done, much like Ceedee Lamb, much like Michael
Parsons who's in line for a contract.

And Jerry Jones is going to let it fly here
this year.

And he talked about being all in and his definition
of all in is kind of a word salad version
of well, you know, we need to focus on this
year and then you know, we worry about you know
that stuff later on. But it does feel like there's
a lot on the line this upcoming season for Dallas.
But he apparently thinks that Dak Prescott is going to

be their long term doesn't see it as his final
year frontal run in Dallas, which is surprising because he
doesn't have a contract after this year now. Dak Prescott,
he spoke about the situation as well too yesterday, and
he was a little bit more realistic about what could happen.
Let's take a listen to number four.

It's a two way street that they have once I
have once. I think I've deserved that understanding that this
is a business.

your feet are and make the most of it. Be
confident in yourself, make your team better. I love my teammates,

I love that locker room. I love everything about being
out here in Oxnard and being a Dallas cowboy.

So that sounded a little bit less optimistic about Yeah,
it's just a foregone conclusion I'm gonna be here, and

darkest hour where you you know that they could have
moved on then, but they decided not to, and they

You're on now, a huge deal. So he might he
might feel.

Some some onus to to want to do right by them,
even though he's put himself in a position to really
capitalize off the leverage that he's got, and if he
statistically plays the way he has and then make the
playoffs again, there will be a market for him. If
he hits free agency, there will be a robust market

I mean, look what Kirk Cousins is getting with the
Atlanta Falcons, and he's coming off a torn Achilles, so
there will be a market if he makes it to
free agency.

On the other side of this, he just got to decide.

Is that in his best interest or would it be
better for him to stay in Dallas, stay at you know,
stay a cowboy where you can not only a part
of the most expensive franchise and sports in the world,

has chosen not to extend or give give him a
new contract, and Dak Prescott has to handle it and
choose how he's going to approach not having a new contract.

after a very brutal injury to his lower part of his.

could be this could be setting it up for Bill,
you know, Bill Belichick to come in and coach this team,

if not another coach to come in and coach this team.

I don't think Belichick has any interest in wanting an

him and the front office, Dallas doesn't seem like the one.

how we judge.

I mean, you tend to forget like Romo played some

really good football in his time too, And that's not
It's not the takeaway from anything Dak's done. They both
floored with five thousand yards at some point in time
in their career. I mean, Dak led what the NFL
and touchdown passes last year, Romo's led him a completion
percentage of other things about the course of his career.
I'm just I'm just saying there's an if you go
back to Romo is twenty fourteen season, I think he

was like third of the m VP voting and he
was second team All Pro. Like they're they're they're very
comparable to one another, And the question probably it becomes
for Tony. I would say they felt closer when he
was there.

he's used to this whole contract stuff with players that
want more money and it being in camp. Nothing new
to see here, and then he was asked about what
the future could look like with Dak Prescott.

Jerry, you mentioned about Dak potentially going to the final
of his contract, you being all in on this year,
him being all in on this season, has that allowed
you to think that just could be his last season
with the Cowboys.

I don't think so. Just to be very specific, I
do not think that this will be his last year
with the Cowboys at all. It's pretty clear, I think
I want to say it if it hadn't been clear
of how much we appreciate what Dak Prescott has meant
to this team in a positive way, and the players

do play better when he's out there. He does make
his teammates play at a higher level, There's no question
about it. So I'm right there in line with his
best with his best fan.

Yet still no deal after this year, and he's still
just kind of waiting around for his for his contract
to get done, much like Ceedee Lamb, much like Michael
Parsons who's in line for a contract.

And Jerry Jones is going to let it fly here
this year.

And he talked about being all in and his definition
of all in is kind of a word salad version
of well, you know, we need to focus on this
year and then you know, we worry about you know
that stuff later on. But it does feel like there's
a lot on the line this upcoming season for Dallas.
But he apparently thinks that Dak Prescott is going to

be their long term doesn't see it as his final
year frontal run in Dallas, which is surprising because he
doesn't have a contract after this year now. Dak Prescott,
he spoke about the situation as well too yesterday, and
he was a little bit more realistic about what could happen.
Let's take a listen to number four.

It's a two way street that they have once I
have once. I think I've deserved that understanding that this
is a business.

To be here talking about growing up that this is

played for other teams. So my point in saying that

confident in yourself, make your team better. I love my teammates,

I love that locker room. I love everything about being
out here in Oxnard and being a Dallas cowboy.

it's just a foregone conclusion I'm gonna be here, and

darkest hour where you you know that they could have
moved on then, but they decided not to, and they
gave you the deal that.

You're on now, a huge deal. So he might he
might feel.

Some some onus to to want to do right by them,
even though he's put himself in a position to really
capitalize off the leverage that he's got, and if he
statistically plays the way he has and then make the
playoffs again, there will be a market for him. If
he hits free agency, there will be a robust market

for him. You don't have to look any further than
I mean, look what Kirk Cousins is getting with the
Atlanta Falcons, and he's coming off a torn Achilles, so
there will be a market if he makes it to
free agency.

On the other side of this, he just got to decide.

Is that in his best interest or would it be
better for him to stay in Dallas, stay at you know,
stay a cowboy where you can not only a part
of the most expensive franchise and sports in the world,
but also the opportunities that come along with that. I
then do you have to deal with Jerry too, which
probablys a lot of fun, but at the same time

it could be a little bit you know, a little crazy.

new contract, and Dak Prescott has to handle it and
choose how he's going to approach not having a new contract.

after a very brutal injury to his lower part of his.

process is who's to blame? And maybe he is looking
at it from the standpoint it isn't Dak Prescott, and

But do you think that this is making way for
a new coach and maybe a new coach that would
want to come in and shop for the groceries that

the possibilities or the idea of maybe could there be
a Bill BELICHICKI oh, whoops, I meant Bill Parcells coaching tree. Well,

could be this could be setting it up for Bill,
you know, Bill Belichick to come in and coach this team,

if not another coach to come in and coach this team.

I don't think Belichick has any interest in wanting an
owner who's going to meddle in things like I don't.
I don't think he like as far as what he's

time wins record and just have something that's copasetic between
him and the front office, Dallas doesn't seem like the one.

really good football in his time too, And that's not
It's not the takeaway from anything Dak's done. They both
floored with five thousand yards at some point in time
in their career. I mean, Dak led what the NFL
and touchdown passes last year, Romo's led him a completion
percentage of other things about the course of his career.
I'm just I'm just saying there's an if you go
back to Romo is twenty fourteen season, I think he

was like third of the m VP voting and he
was second team All Pro. Like they're they're they're very
comparable to one another, And the question probably it becomes
for Tony. I would say they felt closer when he
was there.
