I do want to give credit to somebody who's a
listener to the show on social media. I mean, they
made a very astute point when they brought this up
earlier to UH to the k C. Carr Haller on

(01:18):
Twitter who pointed out, I didn't know Chris Jones was
part of the opening ceremony, which is fair to which
is fair to you know, to UH to admit to here.
So there's there's that. As we've been talking all things
Olympics here on the show. Again, not sure what the
hell's live. There's some events that are on the TV here.
There was a women's field hockey event. I have no

(01:38):
idea if it's live.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
How you get the means?

Speaker 4 (01:45):
I don't I really.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
I think most of what the air is only for
that purpose is for betting, but maybe not all of it.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Labar, what did you say?

Speaker 5 (01:59):
I went to the Soul media after you brought it up,
and I feel like mazing in Huntington Beach, I thought
he knocked it out of the park. How'd you get
the beans above the frank? Which is still a question
I would like to have an answer to. How did
how did that happen?

Speaker 1 (02:18):
I'm not gonna look at the picture long enough to
give any.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
Sort of guess Frank em Beans, Frank Embaines.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
But I do feel like it's appropriate that I should
let everyone know that I am over here in Paris,
boots on the ground, able to take in the sites,
the scenes. We've We've been able to put together quite
the trip thanks to many of our sponsors, the French Kiss,
Paris pipes in our first two hours, and finally, pharmacy.
From painkillers to condoms to discount Covid masks. We are

(02:49):
a one stop shop for all your medical needs.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
What pharmacy? Say it again that we we yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
We we pharmacy. Have you ever been there? Never been
to we Wei pharmacy.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
That was the part of the opening ceremony, right parts
of it.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
I mean they sell everything, man like even cod Covid
mass on discount. Man, what a spot, you know.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
We we pharmacy, We we yeah. Man.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Between them and Paris pipes.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Is my favorite though, That's that's my favorite.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
I really appreciate the sales team here at Fox Sports
really and our heart for putting together quite the list
of sponsors for us.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
They're the best.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
They are the best. So with that being said, we
have been talking about the big money contracts that have
been paid out to first Jordan Love, then to a
Tago by Loa, both those guys represented by the same agency,
to us, uh, is this sound? Is it playable on

(04:09):
the air? To show me the money?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Lee?

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Do you think it works? All right? So we're efforting it.
We've been trying to mess with it a little bit
because we don't know how how great it's going to
sound on radio. But we are efforting to a Taka
by Loa who wanted to play. There is.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Crowd cheers, oh god.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Show it's even worse that, like they cheer.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
It's like, what are you cheering for?

Speaker 2 (04:52):
You to get the money? He did?

Speaker 4 (04:54):
I love Tua Love his story, went to Saint Louis
High School in Hawaii, Love to to talk about a
little happy got paid that right there. I would avoid
the contract and sign Jay Fiedler to day to day.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
For anyone who's seen it, I used that phrase earlier
because it makes you like go, oh no, that's not
how you want to.

Speaker 6 (05:19):
Celebrate it, even with the crowd everything else.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
I'm not saying that you have to guarantee anything or
say anything other than like so excited, upcoming sees everything else.
What he said to the crowd after that was fine,
you know, getting them pumped up, tell them they're part
of all of it. But oh man, I just they
just look. I'm excited for him too. We talked about
the other day. It's just that was very cringe worthy

(05:43):
for me.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Yeah, very much so. By the way, he does look different,
and I don't know what it is.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
He's got more money now, Well, that money makes you
look different, Yes, it does. For some strange reason, it
makes you look a little different.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Yeah, I definitely wouldn't know. So I don't know if
it's because I know that he tried to lose weight
this offseason. I don't know if it's because he's doing
something different with his hair. I don't know if it's
the facial hair. Like, there's something about the guy that
looks different. I'm telling you, like something about it. He's
wearing like a I don't know if he's wearing a

(06:20):
skullie now and he wasn't before. There's something that he's
doing that looks different and I can't I cannot figure
it out. What do you think it is? What's your guess?

Speaker 2 (06:30):
You have? You have an idea of it, that's why
you're saying it.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
I don't I really don't. I've been I told Lee
before the show, I was like, there's something about it,
but I can't put my finger on it. And since we.

Speaker 6 (06:41):
Might have a good theory on all this, do you have.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
A theory on it? What do you think? What do
you think looks different about Tua?

Speaker 7 (06:47):
Well, he's a you know, he's a new father, well
you know, two years old. But that changes him in
that changes your figure, dad bod. Yeah, but you look
worse after you have Usually he looks better. There's something
like there's something different about the guy, and.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
I don't know what's going on there.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
What do you think it is?

Speaker 4 (07:03):
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Lee?

Speaker 4 (07:07):
I do not know.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Sorry, you know, y'all know, y'all don't. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
Why would y'all bring up something y'all don't want to
say on radio? If you know, you know, say it.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
I'm trying to just way it loud. I don't know what.
I don't know what it is. Maybe he's more jacked,
tighter clothes. I don't know, like there's.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Going to be I thought he looked the exact same.
I didn't think he looked any different.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Maybe he's in love, he's.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Been in love, you're saying it's a new love you
have like.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
A new loud on Oh snap man, So I mean
you talking about like side pieces or what. Who knows
a lot of things can make people happy like that.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
Well love, I mean the contract clearly. Yeah, but you
said he came into camp looking different. He didn't have
the contract until recently, right or did he have it
before cat.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Over the weekend he got his deal was coming his way.
There is there is something a.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
Little bit I don't really like take inventory on dudes
all like that.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
You don't mean no, yeah, you know which.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
Is notice like little small details that are different about
like like say, for instance, you or c I wouldn't
I wouldn't know someone.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
There was a revelation.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
I feel like there was a revelation that Jonah said
yesterday LeVar okay, Jonas, do you want to tell LeVar
what you told me on the phone about your wardrobe?

Speaker 4 (08:31):
Oh? God, yeah, this is this is when you know
you got to update some things. So my son's favorite
song right now is a song by a band called
Depeche Mode Enjoy the Silence All. It's a great song,
like it like on YouTube, like it's got like four
hundred and forty four million views. What helps that is

(08:53):
the fact that the song came out in nineteen ninety. Okay,
so it's really old. And in the music video, the
members of the band are like all wearing leather jackets,
and my son looks up at the TV and goes, hey,
it's daddy's jacket. Rist I'm wearing like thirty five year

(09:15):
old wardrobe, like in public.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
But that's okay to wear vintage. I don't think it
is a leather jacket.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Yeah it is. I don't know it.

Speaker 6 (09:25):
So I came back around.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Yeah, I out left, it went out of style, it
came back in.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
My wife turned around and said, oh my god, he's right.
It was like it's like she realized her, like, my
husband's got a problem, like he has an updated his
wardrobe in thirty years. Yeah, sorry about that. So yeah,
it's a wait, what can you can you say that
on the airly?

Speaker 7 (09:52):
I think we can from what I'm being told, it
might be a zembic face. She was, ozempic, it might
be you have every everybody's on a ozempic now, especially
especially Miami.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Come on, hold on a second.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
True, and he said ozempic face hollowed cheeks.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
I don't know what it is, but.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah, I'm not I'm not touching it.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Yeah, I wouldn't touch it either. But Brady, now that
we're on the topic, can you get ozempic at Wee
Wee Pharmacy? Is that?

Speaker 6 (10:23):
I'll have to go and look. I have not looked
into it.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Coming up. I know for certain you could get that
where we're we we we we pharmacy.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
Chew on that, Yeah, chewabowls baby, Definitely, they definitely got
some blue shoes on that.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
By the way, do you guys, are you more or
less confident now that Jordan Love and two have gotten
their deals done the Dak's going to get his deal
done at some point this season because I think it's happening.
I think you have to.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
That they need to get it done otherwise they're gonna
be paying an incredible amount after the season or not.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
I mean, he's he really is in store.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
For a sixty million dollar deal right at this point.

Speaker 6 (11:11):
If they pushed this off another year.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
I mean, isn't he going to go for that? Now?

Speaker 5 (11:16):
Wouldn't he kind of take the thought process of what
you were using talking about Jordan Love? Like I got
leverage think, right, I got leverage, but I'm playing my
hand out.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
If he waits till after the season, then he could
create a market because there's no franchise tack claws in there.

Speaker 5 (11:33):
But imagine asking for it now, because you know, I'm
sure it is going to be a market.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
I'm sure he is, and I'm sure Jerry Jones is like,
all right, I mean, we're not going to do that now,
but if you play the way you have so be it,
we'll pay you then. I mean, it is just interesting
to look at it, and he really all these guys,
you know, Jordan Love's got one playoff win, two has
got none, DA's got two I think. I mean, he's
got a worse playoff record than Romo had, and he's

(12:00):
going to be getting paid sixty million dollars a year.
I mean, I know it's a byproduct really of the
TV contract, which, by the way, if you think these
are big, wait until you see the NBA's contracts with
their new TV deal. Wait you see what those deals
look like, and then flip back over the NFL once

(12:20):
they opt out the owners coming up and what that
next TV deal looks like. I mean, the numbers are
only going up like this is gonna seem pedestrian compared
to what you're going to see five years from now.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Hey, does is this based off of inflation or is
it just up?

Speaker 1 (12:39):
I think I think it's a byproduct of demand because
now all the media rights deals, everyone's clamoring for live entertainment.

Speaker 6 (12:48):
I mean it's there's no.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Longer appointment television with exceptional live sports, and if you're
not a part of it, you're out.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
Gotta get it, get it way.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
You can to get it. Why you can.

Speaker 4 (13:03):

That'll be yours here as we close up shop on
a Monday morning. You guys want to hear how back
Deshaun Watson is. I mean he is ready to go.
He is raring to go for the season.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
So back or belly? What do you mean how or
how belly is?

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Wow? What do you mean? Batter up?

Speaker 6 (14:24):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (14:25):
I just want to make sure we're clear.

Speaker 9 (14:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Wow. Some would say he's better off being belly ready.

Speaker 10 (14:35):
You know belly if you if you read the uh,
if you're other report, Uh, it's a weird place to
do yoga.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
What stretches that.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
They used to call it the mad cat.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
You know on your ankle is not a walkie talkie.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Oh though.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
Though right, but nonetheless. He was at Brown's training camp
over the weekend and he was asked by the media
just about what he needs to do to prepare for
this upcoming season and what his expectations are for himself
as they get ready for twenty twenty four.

Speaker 9 (15:23):
Honestly, it's really just you know, blocking out all the
boots honestly. Outside you know, it was tough coming in
two years, different environment, different you know, different team, different
all that. So you know, you come in and you
know your character's been you know, mentioned this way, and
then you know it kind of flip on you and
the biggest saying you're trying to, you know, get people

(15:45):
to like you are improved. But now it's like, you know,
at the end of the day, it's two years in
and if you don't you know, like me, or you
have your own opinions, then forget it is what it is,
you know. So I think blocking out all the noise
and focusing on me and focusing on what I need
to do. If be the best to Shaun Watson I
could be for myself, my family and my teammates. Just

(16:06):
being the best that Shawn Watson can be for this
team so we can get that ultimate goal and maximizing
my potential and my talent, and that's my motivation. You know,
I don't have anything else that is going to motivate me.

Speaker 6 (16:20):
None of it's proving people wrong, like rank quarterbacks.

Speaker 9 (16:23):
Get now I get to what the people say, We'll
be honest.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
Damn take that bar.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
I mean clearly if he if he cared, he wanted
to ted the stuff that ad people saying what they said.
I mean, I don't see why he's saying it.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Now.

Speaker 5 (16:39):
You never cared, you never really cared. But I mean
it's there is some sensibility in what he said. I mean,
he has been there for two years now. I would say,
I mean, I'll throw this one to UQ. But I
would say, after watching him play, I'm curious he gets
the surgery. Even though his injury pattern was very confusing

(17:03):
to me last season. I didn't know if, like I
guess his shoulder ended up being concussed because it looked
like he was concussed, but maybe it was his shoulder
or I don't. I don't really know what the injuries
were until he gets the surgery and he was shut down.
But my biggest question, and my my look into it,

(17:24):
is does he still want to play? I think he
just has to prove he still wants to play, Like
forget all the off the field stuff, like we can
joke poke fun at that. But what I saw last
season was, in my estimation, he's a very he's a
very kind of nonchalant guy in the way he is
anyway personality wise, at least the way it comes across

(17:47):
when he speaks and interviews. So maybe the feeling of
him seeming a little distant from the games and from
the team and very very nonchalant about whether he played
or didn't play. That was my biggest question in terms

(18:08):
of looking at how how things went with him last
season and going into this season. But I mean I'll
lead that to you, Q, like, do you what do
you think is the biggest key for the biggest thing
to look forward with Deshaun Watson this season?

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Well, to answer that question, I would say it really
comes down to how he's picking up the offense. According
to Warren Sharp at Sharp Football on x but no
one had a higher rate of incompletions due to inaccurate
passes in the NFL, it was.

Speaker 6 (18:44):
Deshaun Watson by large margin.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Almost half of his incompletions were due to inaccurate passes.
On his end of things, forty four percent. I mean
that's three four percentage points higher than to Rod Taylor.
But as you go down the line, start looking at
some of the quarterbacks who excelled with as Patrick Mahomes
was at under twenty five percenter, Jared Goffho's at twenty
six percent, Dak Prescott twenty seven percent, Josh Allen twenty

(19:09):
seven percent. He was by far and away the most
inaccurate passer.

Speaker 6 (19:16):
Of any in the NFL last year.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
So his ability to continue to develop chemistry and get
down this offense and get on the same page with
Kevin Stefanski I have said since day one, since he
got there, and to your point about all the off
the field stuff, like no one's moved on from it,
by the way, Like I think he's hoping, and I
know his representations hoping that they can get past everything

(19:41):
that happened.

Speaker 6 (19:41):
In the past. But that's always going to be with them.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Like when you had that many allegations, you had that
many things that were going off the field that that
were that weird and crazy, and then you didn't play
and somehow got that contract.

Speaker 6 (19:53):
Like it will always stick with you because.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
It is an anomaly like that just doesn't happen, so
he'll never get bad.

Speaker 6 (20:01):
I don't care ifyone's a super.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Bowl, there will always be that asterisk next to his
name and how he got there. So that's just part
of the deal. And by the way, those are decisions
he made. He put himself in that situation. But that
being said, I don't know that he's a great fit
for Kevin Stefanski's system, to be quite honest, I've said

(20:22):
this for a while now. This is one of the
most talented rosters. It's a talented offense. I don't know
that you could ask for much more as a quarterback.
But it's just whether or not Kevin Stefanski's system can
jive with what Deshaun Watson would like to do on
offense and vice versa, like, can those two work together
and it be the offense that ultimately will help lead

(20:43):
them to a division title, the playoffs, super Bowl, all that. Like,
that's really what it comes down to. And just from
Stefanski's system and coming from that kind of Kubiak tree
and everything else, I don't know that that meshes as
well with what maybe Watson wants to do. To me, so,
how much of that system is still predicated on some
of the outside zone running schemes, the boots and things

(21:04):
off of that, And when you've got an offensive line
and a running back like they have in Cleveland, you'd
think that that still needs to be a staple of
the offense. But I think if you go back to
Deshaun Watson's best years and is playing in Houston, it's
mostly from shotgun and allowing him to get back and
survey the field and if nothing's there, take off and
running and get.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
What he can.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
And that's not as much of the offense. When you're
playing under center. It's harder as a quarterback to do
that unless you get outside contained outside the pocket and
you're running a ton of boots. So we'll see what
twenty twenty four looks like. I've continually said this contract
locks him in and the team in to a long
term relationship. I don't feel like there's any sense of

(21:48):
urgency whatsoever on either side because they literally cannot move
on from him for three more seasons given how much
guaranteed money they've got tied up into him.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
Can I ask you a question, what you're saying, is
that more of an indictment on on the play callers
or on Stefanski on Ken Dorsey's the the OC, right,
He's the OC now, dude, Dude, I mean, if you're
paying him all that money, should you be able to

(22:22):
say he doesn't fit Stefanski's offensive scheme? That would be
my biggest question to listening to what you said, because
if I got to pay this dude all the money
that they guaranteed him, Hey, DeShawn, what works for you?

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Like what?

Speaker 5 (22:39):
I want to give you the most ample of opportunities
to have the success that you're going to have because
you are, by far and away the biggest investment that
we made.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Is that Is that the wrong approach? Or it does?
Should he have to adjust to what they're calling?

Speaker 5 (23:00):
No?

Speaker 1 (23:00):
I think the new age of the NFL now is
especially to your point about the contract.

Speaker 6 (23:04):
I mean, the team should be adapting to him.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
And I think they've done that with the personnel it's
on this roster and look, maybe behind the scenes they're
doing it more than I'm understanding. I'm only looking from
the outside looking in on all of it, so it's
harder to get a feel for it. But you know,
Ken Dorsey is there now is the OC. Alex Van
Pelt who was there.

Speaker 6 (23:24):
Is no longer there.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
I believe he's in New England now, So you know
how much of a change will there be?

Speaker 6 (23:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
You know, Kevin Stevansi's the head coach, He's an offensive mind.
He got the job because of his offensive play calling prowess,
and it now comes down to is he willing to,
you know, give up the reins to Ken Dorsey. You know,
how fast can Ken Dorsey get up to speed on
this offense the system and implements something that can play
to the strengths of Deshaun Watson of what they want

(23:51):
to do with the personnel they have. So those are
all big questions. I mean, like I said, I think
this season to me one where on paper I'd put
their roster up against anyone in the AFC anyone. I
think they're that good of a roster. It just comes
down to his level of play. Because if you go

(24:12):
back to last year and despite despite the quarterback play,
despite the injury to Nick Chubb, this team was still
able to win a lot of football games with Jim
Schwartz's the defensive coordinator, Miles Garrett, the rest of that defense,
who are studs and then Joe Flacco coming in for
what five games, and he played well enough in that
span to be able to win come Back.

Speaker 6 (24:33):
Player of the Year.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
I mean, it's pretty remarkable when you think about it.
I mean, I know we talked earlier about Tua, but
like Tua very easily could have made a case after
missing what four games I think the year prior to
being the Comeback Player of the Year with the way
he played last year, leading the league in passing and
everything else.

Speaker 6 (24:51):
So this is a.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
Browns team to me, that's like in a great position
for Deshaun Watson to make improvements and come in and
be a team that competes not for the division but
for the AFC Championship.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
In my mind, if they come up short, who does
that fall on?

Speaker 5 (25:08):
I mean obvious, it's obvious that falls on Stefanski, But
I mean how much of that, how much of that
will play? Like, what can you do if if Deshaun
Watson doesn't play.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
Well this year?

Speaker 6 (25:22):
Nothing.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
I'm telling you You're not able to move on from him.
You just contractually you can't do it. You cannot do it.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
It is so crazy when.

Speaker 4 (25:34):
You hear the way that he I mean.

Speaker 6 (25:36):
Again, I'll give you the numbers if you want again.

Speaker 4 (25:38):
Well, I mean, hold on, if we're going to give
out numbers on the contract, we got to do this
the right way, the right way. I think this has
to happen.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
The right way.

Speaker 4 (25:44):
I mean, if we're going to do contract numbers here
on this show, we've got to do.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
It the right way. Do it with some pes, do
it the right way.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
Bully right set up, and we've got to just a
live studio band. They're firing on all cylinders as Polly,
the Olympics going on, there's everything else going on. We're
trying to figure out why too. It looks different, but
none of that matters because right now it's.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
Now for more on this two pros and a cup
of Joe NFL contract analysts, free.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
Quick, all right, So we're not gonna move on from
Deshaun Watson. Now he's got a two hundred million dollars
dead cap hit.

Speaker 6 (26:21):
Okay, we know.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
That said out a game and after this year out a.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
Million, two hundred million dollars dumped.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
How to get your dough God day.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
After.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
So they're not moving on from him after this year,
this year, this year, twenty twenty five one hundred and
thirty seven million dollars day, one hundred and thirty seven
million dollars dead cap hit and then after twenty twenty
six and lessons, what seventy three dollars in dead cap?

Speaker 4 (26:55):
You know how much you die? How much baby oil
you can buy with that.

Speaker 5 (26:58):
That's a lot of baby oil them. Hey, in fact,
I gonna go there, he gonna go there. I ain't
gonna go there. But I'm just saying we ain't hurt
and get in no trouble. Lately that might have flew

(27:19):
over a few people's I'm gonna leave that one a load.
I will leave it alone.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
I believe that weird like, So basically he's got him
by the balls.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
Yeah, I keep telling you, like, they're not moving on
from him.

Speaker 6 (27:37):
There's there's no way.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
Any organization would move on from him. They're with them
for the next few years. Browns fans are with him
for the next few years. So there's just there's not
a sense of urgency to put pressure on him in
that sense, so they can kind of take their time
with this.

Speaker 6 (27:52):
So look, you asked the question for.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Depending on how things end, you know, what does that mean?
What it means to me it depends on how things then.
I mean Stefanski just won Coach of the Year, Like,
do you think if this year doesn't go well.

Speaker 6 (28:05):
He's gonna get fired? Like I think they don't have
a hard time believing that.

Speaker 5 (28:08):
And that's why I asked, you know what I mean,
like if they come up short, if it doesn't go
because you can obviously look at if it works out,
it's it's like inconsequential, consequential, But but if it doesn't
work out, you always got to ask a question. If
it doesn't work out, and they've been looking for it
to work out in Cleveland, when you make that type

(28:30):
of investment, you've said that this is the missing piece
to what we have.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
That's what that says to me.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
Now, if that's what the missing piece was, and Deshaun
Watson in fact is available in plays and this team
doesn't achieve at the level say they're like a Dallas
Cowboys team, and how their season ends is there?

Speaker 2 (28:52):
Is it just hey moving on to the next season.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
I mean there actually have been times where not having
a successful camp in the playoffs or you know what,
or so winning in the super Bowl, whatever it may be,
where it it's like you know what, we'll run it
back next year.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
That has happened.

Speaker 5 (29:11):
I'm just curious if they were to underperform, knowing what
they've invested in this quarterback, knowing that you have a
coach that is coaching as well as Stefanski is coaching.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
How do you How do you address it? How do
you address it?

Speaker 4 (29:26):
Do you? Guys? Mary Kay Cabitt is pretty connected there, right,
Brady in Cleveland? Yes, okay, yes, So when she comes
out on a podcast and we talked about it at
the time and says if he struggles this year, they
will not hesitate to put Jamis Winston in. If she's
hearing that, Deshaun Watson's got to be feeling that right, like,

(29:48):
He's got to be feeling some sense of you know,
even though I am getting paid, like there's a chance
that if I do struggle, we're not waiting around. Because
if this roster is as good as you say it is,
and it is and they're a legitimate Super Bowl contender,
I mean that's why we throughout the number, like number
of games James Winston starts this year over under three

(30:09):
and a half. I'll take the over whether it's injury
or poor play, based on what we've seen, I think
Jameis Winston's gonna get in there, so they're gonna pay
the Browns.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
But the Browns have the best quarterback room in the NFL.
If you look at their depth, like I think a
ton of Jamis. I think he should be starting in
this league. I'll continue to keep saying it. If I
was Las Vegas, I would make a trade for Jamis
Winston right now. That's what I do in order to
give yourself a shot this season. But even beyond him,
look at Tyler Huntley. When Tyler Huntley's got a chance,

(30:40):
has gone in, he's played well. I mean they are aligned,
I think better than any team behind their starting quarterback
and Deshaun Watson to be able to survive not only
an injury at Jameis Winston, but even if Tyler Huntley
has going to play like Huntley's gone in and has
played well in some big spots back during his time
in Baltimore.

Speaker 6 (30:59):
So I kind of love what they've done.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
But I keep going back to their roster, like you go,
look at this roster. They've got talent, they've got depth,
they are built to win, and even despite any injuries
to the quarterback, and I think we saw until Flacco
came in and kind of saved the day, we saw
some issues at quarterback. That's not the case and any
more now with this roster. So look to your point

(31:23):
about James Winston. You know that might have more to
do with the style of play from Deshaun Watson and
if he takes off and gets hurt, you know, running
outside the pocket more than anything else.

Speaker 6 (31:33):
But Mary, I know, Mary, Kay, she's dialed in.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
I just have a hard time believing they're going to
do that with how much they're paying to Shaun Watson
and how much they're still in the hook for him,
because there's really nothing they can do to get out
from underneath it outside of a trade. But again, you're
looking at the potential of Dak Prescott being a free agent,
and whoever else you want to throw into the conversation,
who's a veteran guy or a guy that might be

(31:59):
under contract with the year or two left that could
be traded. Two not to mention a quarterback class coming
out in the draft.

Speaker 6 (32:05):
And I'll just I'll challenge you.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
By saying this, how many teams are going to be
in need of it back next year? Based on this
past draft, this past year, based on what we know
about some of the other veterans who've gotten you know,
inked up, whether it's Matt Stafford or Jared Goff or
now Tua and now, uh, who's the other name.

Speaker 6 (32:25):
Is escaping me?

Speaker 4 (32:27):
That just signed Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Trevor Lawrence as well, he wasn't gonna be up anywhere,
Jordan Love. Like all these guys now are under long terms,
you know, was Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, I mean, like
all these guys.

Speaker 6 (32:41):
So, like, who's who's really in need of a quarterback?

Speaker 3 (32:43):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (32:43):
Maybe Pittsburgh if things don't go well between Wilssell, Wilson
and Justin Field.

Speaker 5 (32:48):
Would be to think that they would need a quarterback
after one year with what they just did, right, well,
go ahead.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
But but that's terrible, That's what I'm saying. What team,
what what team would you think of? Is it the Giants?
If Daniel Jones doesn't do well? But like they would
be in a position probably a draft one.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
So correct, But.

Speaker 5 (33:08):
There's not a big, a big market for quarterbacks this
this this draft.

Speaker 6 (33:14):
Correct, Yeah, but they'll be at least three guys.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
You know, when I look at it like Carson Beck
I think will be the first quarterback ends up being
taken out of Georgia. I think Shador Sanders will be
up there. I think, you know, Connor Wigman, the quarterback
at Texas and m who knows how Riley Leonard does
the season, how he can jump in Notre Dame. There's
a number of guys who could end up falling this conversation.
But the greater point is this. You know, Dak's gonna

(33:38):
be the most sought after free agent and the one
that's gonna receive top dollar. But if you're a team
that's looking for a quarterback, you know, if the Shot,
if Cleveland, we're gonna try to move on from the
Shots because.

Speaker 6 (33:48):
He's not playing well. Yeah, So, like what's the value
going to be? Then?

Speaker 5 (33:52):
Would you say the I would say the Raiders, possibly
the Seahawks, depending on what they got going going on.
Possibly the Saints, you know, and and would that be it?

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Possibly? Alright?

Speaker 5 (34:08):
Right, I'm just saying I'm saying possibly, you know, possibly,
possibly the Rams, right, possibly.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Depending on what Stafford wants to do. Possibly so which
they just redid his contract. Yeah, I mean, I'm just
saying the possibilities of it. I don't I don't you know?

Speaker 4 (34:26):

Speaker 7 (36:12):
Yeah, guys, new rule in the NFL that requires head
coaches to do in games this coming season, So instead
of on their way into or out of the locker
room at halftime, they have to do it either in
the first half or second half.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
Leave them alone, let them coach. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (36:28):
I love how they waited. I love how they waited
until Belichick lost his job before they implemented this one.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
I'm out. That's too gimmicky. I'm out.
