On Friday, Petros and Money had their remote out in
one thousand Oaks, and I just would like to say
a lot of people came up. I went and stopped
by there, and they loved the show. So, you know,
they had very complimentary things to say about you guys
and for the show, and so I wanted to say.
Speaker 5 (01:26):
Thank you to them.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
Thank you hearing this in this eight Eastern time, five
o'clock Pacific hour as many people are listening on the
Blowtorch A five to seventy LA Sports, So very complimentary
out there.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
And Patrick heard you were working other shows outside of
the one that you were on, you know, so that's
cool that you were getting.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
I mean, listen, you can't tell the JKS needs to
get done. I mean, I don't know what you know,
kind of it's the main event. It's event, you have
the main event.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Fighters just be warming up for the weekend.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Just that's how it goes now, by the way.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
I do like the fact though, that Lee and Lorraine
are getting clowned on Google right now.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
Because they want to they tried to.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
They asked me who my favorite Muppet character was, and
I said, is Oscar the Grouch a Muppett?
Speaker 5 (02:18):
Well, you look online and it says that it's a muppet.
Speaker 6 (02:21):
He's not a Muppet because he was invented by Jim Henson,
who who has Muppets ink. So yes, those are all
technically Muppets, but they're not of the Muppets.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
He's a Sesame Street.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Okay, Well it says he's a Muppet like if you
if you look it up, he says he's a muppet.
Speaker 7 (02:37):
So I'm gonna go with Oscar the grouchme Street.
Speaker 6 (02:40):
In that case, I go snuffle.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Upligus what you got better? Time?
Speaker 8 (02:48):
All right?
Speaker 2 (02:50):
All right?
Speaker 4 (02:51):
So, speaking of arguments and discussions that have been had
off air and on air, let's get into de Shaun Watson.
It has been a long time since he has played,
and Brown's head coach Kevin Stefanski says that he won't
play in the team's next preseason game against the Vikings
(03:13):
this Saturday, but he will in their preseason finale against
the Seahawks, even though he's been medically cleared, and he'll
be taking the vast majority of the reps with the
first and second team this week in joint practices against
the Vikings. So if that's the case, why play him
and joint practices, sit him out in the preseason game,
(03:36):
but then choose to play him in.
Speaker 5 (03:37):
The final preseason game. What's the what's the plan there?
Speaker 2 (03:41):
I don't know, ce or do they just want to.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
Hear Jameis Winston give a pregame speech?
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Again, I mean, I don't know. I mean I wouldn't
play them at all. I know there's some folks who
want to see him knock some rust off whatever. You
have so much guaranteed money wrapped up in him and
just folks again, understand how this works. When you sign
a contract, the amount of guaranteed money that cast needs
to be put into an escrow account. So when you
(04:09):
put nearly a quarter of a billion dollars away after
you signed to Sean Watson and you're the owner, are
you really if you're the head coach or general manager,
you're really going to risk that player who's already missed
a ton of time going and playing in a meaningless
game in the preseason and potentially all that money that
(04:29):
you've invested into him just continue to go down the drain.
It doesn't make any sense to me. Like I think
that's obviously the position for a lot of teams and
the star players. It's about not just the fact that
you wanted them to get healthy to Week one for
meaningful games, but also think about the money that this
owner has literally taken out of his pocket, out of
(04:50):
the team and put it into an account somewhere else.
Speaker 8 (04:53):
Like that financial would be tough to swallow.
Speaker 7 (04:57):
I've always fallen on this side pretty much much of
playing guys in the preseason. That's that's been something that
I've said. But I also have said there are certain
entities or certain moments where I wouldn't I wouldn't chance it,
and this happens to be one of them. I wouldn't
(05:17):
I would not, knowing what I know, knowing that he's
coming off of a surgery.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
As much as I would.
Speaker 7 (05:24):
Like to see him knock that rust off, I still
wouldn't find it to be worth it to put him
out there and risk, you know, any unnecessary harm you know,
done to him. So I tend to fall on the
side of not, you know, sitting him out preseason as well.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Now, is it because they're based on his track record,
there might be some issues with the methods he goes
to when it comes to recovery. Is that maybe the
problem here that maybe you gotta you know, maybe they's
got to go to some different routes and lengths to
to make sure that his body is right after getting
banged up a little bit in the game, Like you.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
Got to kind of steer away from that one. Maybe
that's the plan.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
I would actually like to see if we could, just
because I know there was some speculator or there was
a report out that Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt did
a I guess a practice simulated game or something like
that over the weekend for Cowboys Rams.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
There was like a film crew following him around.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
But the fact that that's going to be Tom Brady's
first game and he'll be covering the Deshaun Watson versus
Dak Prescott game Brown's Cowboys, that's going to be a
fun one, especially if Deshaun, Like, if he goes out
there and he struggles, and he has struggled at times.
I just wonder how critical Tom Brady's going to be
of him, and maybe does he point to, you know,
(06:47):
lack of reps in the preseason, lack of reps since
he's come back from the injury or since he's been
in Cleveland to begin with. Brady was always a guy
who was in preseason games when he was with the Patriot,
So I'm wondering what his what his feedback is going
to be on that situation. Another situation to monitor is
the quarterback competition in Pittsburgh. Apparently justin fields, although there
(07:13):
was a couple of bright spots a couple of fumbles
in the game over the weekend for the Steelers, Russell
Wilson is ramping back up and he'll get an opportunity
to take some first team reps with Pittsburgh. It does
feel like the quarterback competition if you look at some
of the odds and some of the other things that
have been out there, is over and Russell Wilson's going to.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Get that job. I think there is a competition.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
Okay, yeah, it didn't seem like there was, but you know,
some people were trying to push for that as much
as they could because Russ has been there.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
The fact that I mean they brought him obviously both
in this offseason, but that Russell Wilson really hasn't done
itsun in training camp in preseason. It kind of lends
you to think that if they're just going to make
him the guy, which just sounds like they have there.
Really it really was never much of a competition. Again,
that doesn't mean Justin Fields won't play or won't have
his opportunity.
Speaker 8 (08:03):
This season, depending on how things go. I'm more curious
to see how this is gonna work.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
If Russell Wilson doesn't play early, it doesn't play well
early in the season. You know, does does they have
a quick hook? Do they bring in Justin Fields right away?
Do they start slowly working Justin Fields in with a
certain package. We see that from time to time sometimes
coaches like to do that. I mean, it could go
a number of ways, but that's more what I'm curious
(08:30):
to see that this will be Russell Wilson's team and
Russell Wilson's opportunity to try to lead Pittsburgh into the
playoffs into a super Bowl. And by the way, rightfully so,
I think he's earned it throughout the course of his career,
and I think even last year the way he played
was much improved compared to week Excuse me, you're one
in Denver. So this isn't a surprise that it's gonna
(08:51):
be Wilson going to in the season.
Speaker 7 (08:52):
I think he would have to play tremendously poorly to
have a short leaf in terms of having a real
opportunity to win as the starting quarterback for the Steelers.
I think there's a commitment to him and to what
(09:12):
they believe he can bring to the table for this team.
And if it doesn't start off well, I don't think
that they go running to justin fields. I think they
they ride it out. I just think that it would
have to be one of the most epically bad performances
over and over again by Russ for him to have
(09:37):
what would be considered a short least.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
In my estimation.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
I mean, if he plays like he was last year,
like that's you know, that's the best quarterback play Pittsburgh's
gotten in years. Like I mean, I'm just saying.
Speaker 7 (09:50):
I mean, they've been shuffling them around, they've been they've
been going through them now, it ain't no doubt about it.
They've been going through you know. And then listen, people
thought it might have been Kenny Pickett. Maybe they prematurely,
you know, pulled the trigger on not sticking with him.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
I don't know, but.
Speaker 8 (10:07):
Buddy look good in the preseason for the Eagles.
Speaker 7 (10:09):
By the way, for what it's worth, you know, I
thought Kenny Pickett could have been the guy. It might
have been other, you know, reasons as to why the
offense was so stagnant.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
It was very pronounced. We'll have to wait and see.
Speaker 7 (10:27):
Hey, listen, I'm not going to go back under the bridge.
I'm not going to go look at the milk on
stepped on on on the table. I'm just going to
keep moving, you know, keep on moving Canada. We ain't
talking about the country, No, No, we're talking about bad
play calling.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Although if we do want to talk about the country,
there's definitely some things to talk about.
Speaker 5 (10:51):
What happened?
Speaker 8 (10:53):
How do you not know this?
Speaker 2 (10:54):
You mean?
Speaker 1 (10:55):
I mean, I assume LeVar has seen there have to
be a track athlete that, you know, may or may
not have had some stuff out there.
Speaker 8 (11:04):
I think she had an only fans page.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
Actually, hold on, hold on, okay, okay, hold on.
Speaker 8 (11:08):
Let me.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
I'm sure Lee already knows about this, given what he
was during doing during the earthquake. I mean, for all
I know, it might have been to her only fans page.
Speaker 5 (11:21):
So all right, is it? Let me see this?
Speaker 8 (11:29):
Do you want to send you the link?
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Lisha Newman?
Speaker 8 (11:32):
Yeah, see, LeVar found it quick.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
I just find damn Levar's Google search algorithms are on point.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
All right, LeVar type.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
Yeah, can all right?
Speaker 7 (11:56):
Well, hey, you know, I mean listen, it ain't stunting
if you got it.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
That is a great point.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
I realized when I made that comment, I've derailed this
entire segment that.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
Can I say this though? Can I ask this from.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
Backup quarterbacks to back porches? What do we go?
Speaker 7 (12:18):
So she calls herself the pole Vault queen?
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Ye? Does this? Does this unseat pole Assassin? Is this
a replacement number one?
Speaker 8 (12:32):
Now?
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Oh yeah? So she's off the market?
Speaker 8 (12:34):
She she's off the market.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
Yeah, by the way.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
So now it's pole Vault queen.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
All right, wasn't that like initially, like Alison Stokey was
the original, right, she was the o G.
Speaker 8 (12:46):
Yeah, yeah, that's Ricky.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
She's married now, but she was the o G back
in the day.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
She was she was one of the first women to
go viral, like before social media platform ones really became prevalent.
She was like one of those first viral, you know,
screenshots or photos that like everyone went to go see.
Speaker 8 (13:09):
It was kind of crazy. I mean I can tell you.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
I remember I was my rookie year in Cleveland and
I'm gonna say, oh, but one of our trainers was like,
you got to see this, and I was like, we're
like all right, everyone on the team was tape going
out to practice, tore like look at I mean, I'm
just telling you, man, that was. That was like the
first girl that I remember thinking like, man, like, if
if our team's looking at her, I guarantee everyone else
(13:35):
is looking at her on the internet.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
So so she was viral. Oh she went viral.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
She did all right, Yeah, definitely did well. Listen, uh,
you know, away we go here as we get ready
for the NFL season, and those are that's a quick
update on yours up here your back up quarterback spot.
By the way, Uh, the quarterback competition in Denver looks
(14:03):
to be over Based on the odds on DraftKings Bo
Nicks minus three to ten to be your starting quarterback
Week one for the for the Broncos, so Gardner Minshew
minus one twenty five slight favorite over Aidan O'Connell, Jacoby
Brissette massive favorite. And then for some reason the Geno
Smith Samhowe line is up. But Gino Smith in eight
(14:23):
to one on that as well.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
Too, So there we go.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
But did I ever tell you guys how they decided
who was going to start preseason games in Chicago back.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
In the day.
Speaker 5 (14:33):
Oh no, you forgot about so funniest thing.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
I can't believe I've never brought this up before, but
Lovey Smith was the coach in Chicago and Kyle Orton
and Rex Grossman were buying for the job, and so
love you yeah, had you know? Yeah, like yeah, they
would flip a coin to decide who was going to
start the preseason game. No way, Yeah, I swear of.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Got coin, you know, Susan B.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
Anthony not not even sure it could have been. Could
have been. I have no idea, no clue, but but yeah,
they used to flip a coin.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Believe it or not.
Speaker 7 (15:07):
No copper is valuable. You know, when I was in
state college the last time state college, this fella, this
homeless fellow, tried to sell us five silver dollars for
twelve dollars. I said, buddy, I said, you're trying to
sell us half a dollars for twelve dollars.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
There's five of them, you know.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
What he's trying to go.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Yeah, that said, you do understand that that's to fifty.
Speaker 8 (15:38):
He goes, well, aren't silver dollars? Dollars want to be
five dollars.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
It's there. They're fifty cent pieces.
Speaker 8 (15:45):
So I'm gonna I've got a silver dollar. That's a dollar.
Speaker 7 (15:50):
Mean, they're fifty cent pieces. But if they even let's
just go a dollar. They're the ones that that's still
five dollars. He was trying to get us for twelve.
He said that they're real silver.
Speaker 5 (16:01):
The fifty cent pieces are the ones that have JFK on.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Them, right, right, JFK. Right? Those are called silver dollars, though,
aren't they.
Speaker 5 (16:08):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
I thought those were called silver dollars.
Speaker 5 (16:11):
I mean, I could be wrong.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
I mean they were JFK dips.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
Though if you had waited a couple of weeks, that
bum would have been selling Lee's nomadic bag.
Speaker 7 (16:21):
My guy tried to hit me for twelve dollars though,
man Like, I was like, what you want?
Speaker 5 (16:26):
You know, any of y'all want a hamburger?
Speaker 7 (16:31):
What you're trying to get? What cost twelve dollars. I'll
take you. You want food, I got you.
Speaker 8 (16:37):
I mean, I'm pretty sure silver dollars worth a dollar, but.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
Did you look it up? I know you'd be looking
to s up like if you well know.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
The only reason I say this, the only reason I
say this is because a guy who I was playing
golf with one time was using his ball mark he
had a silver dollar and it was it was a
dollar or whatever, and I was like, man, I've never
seen that, or I haven't seen one of those a
long time. I think it's something like I said to him, okay,
And so after the round he like left it like
for me, and so I was like, oh, that's cool.
(17:05):
And I literally remember looking at the other day thinking like,
I can't recall the last time I saw silver dollar,
but it was all I mean, you're.
Speaker 7 (17:13):
Probably right, and listen, I'm looking it up right now.
There's there are silver dollars that are worth one hundred dollars,
you know. So I don't know, man, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
I mean I just google.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
What do you call a half a dollar? What is
the Susan B Anthony?
Speaker 5 (17:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (17:32):
I just don't know all that stuff. I thought they
were silver dollars. It doesn't matter to me. I just
know that I saw the JFK hit. I thought it
was that you called them silver dollars. It's fine, but
I know that's a fifty cent piece. I do know
that JFK is worth fifty cents. You can follow me
in the club, Lee, right right.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
I just looked up by Google search silver dollar and
the first two things that popped up were silver Dollar
Liquor and silver Dollar Saloon.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
And are you familiar with either?
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (18:03):
No, I am not, but I will look at that
up and research thoroughly. I see silver Dollar City, which
is a theme park of some sort of interesting.
Speaker 8 (18:10):
That sounds cool.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Hey, Lee, did you have any silver dollars when that
bum broke into your car and sawyer change?
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Just quarters?
Speaker 6 (18:18):
Took all my quarters?
Speaker 5 (18:19):
Man, All of them.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
Appreciate the fact you let him have the quarters, but
really so you can track him later on us.
Speaker 8 (18:27):
They're jiggling around on.
Speaker 7 (18:28):
His silver dollars have a one dollar phase value, but
are at least ninety percent silver, which reduced and so
for collectors and some of our popular maybe I was wrong, man,
Maybe I should have bought them bitches off of him.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Well, but yeah, then you got to melt them down though,
to sell the metal. It's just I don't think you
can deface us currency like that.
Speaker 6 (18:51):
You know what, I got to invest in those air tags,
you know, put that in my car.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
You know what you need to do that it will
know about.
Speaker 8 (19:00):
Here's what you need to do with the air tag.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
You get one, you put it on yourself, and you
allow RAINA to track you because we need to be
able to find you sometimes. And that ain't that Ain't
you need an air tag on you, bud Yep, that's
true to your location on like yeah, he'll lose his
phone especially yeah, well, especially when we go to like
graduates and stuff like that, you know, new cities.
Speaker 8 (19:21):
Buddy.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
I'm just saying, somebody needs to put an air tag
on you trust.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Like that. Yes they are.
Speaker 5 (19:33):
Why do you think he's moving out of his place?
Speaker 6 (19:37):
Dang have been air tagged. Yeah, probably still have some
feel bad for you, probably need a new car.
Speaker 8 (19:46):
I don't feel bad for Lee.
Speaker 7 (19:47):
I just worry about Lee, you know, well, the whole
air tagging thing and why he's in the situation that
he's in right now.
Speaker 8 (19:55):
Yeah, but you know.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
When you watch those movies You're like, man, how does
this guy get in this situation?
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Like I don't know what he was? The guy leaves
the guy Lee's the guy.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Like, next time you're watching a movie where a guy
gets like kidnapped by accident, how does that happen? Lee?
Speaker 7 (20:10):
There's people that exist that these things actually really happened to.
Speaker 8 (20:14):
But the big Letlebowski script over again.
Speaker 5 (20:17):
Good job, It's just so much fun.
Speaker 8 (20:20):
Man, Yes, always say yes so much, he says.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
Earlier, he says, like, hey, do you have any throat burners?
Speaker 5 (20:33):
Last night?
Speaker 4 (20:34):
I was actually busy all day and didn't get home
to like around ten o'clock, and I just had a
couple of beers and a couple of shots.
Speaker 8 (20:42):
Shots by yourself.
Speaker 6 (20:44):
Well it was left. It was the dregs of the
night before where I was.
Speaker 7 (20:51):
You were taking old shots like they were still there,
Like you were like.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
Well it was self medicated after that, after the car fiasco,
and so there was some dregs left, and I was like, oh, hey,
I forgot about it. I left this behind. So soldiers
left behind?
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Do you bring out a shot glass and pour like
literally a shot for yourself?
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Like the shots were already there, like they were just
left over shots. They were shot.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
It was the end.
Speaker 6 (21:16):
I was like, oh, I didn't finish that.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
I gotta that is finished. Hold, you got your problem
shots of We got to talk about this.
Speaker 8 (21:24):
You had shots of tequila just sitting out.
Speaker 6 (21:26):
Well, they were still in the bottle, but the shot
class Yeah.
Speaker 7 (21:30):
Oh see, now I thought they were old shots. I
thought it was a stale shot.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Why don't you just do a pull from the bottle? Lead,
Why would you have to pour it out into a shot?
Speaker 6 (21:39):
Because I'm a classy guy, Brady.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Oh my god, it is.
Speaker 5 (21:46):
Good for you.
Speaker 7 (21:49):
Sat down, grabbed the shot glass and the and the
bottle and say.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
Well, don't mind if I do trump I might as well.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
I'm not against the nightcap, Lee, but I think when
you start pouring shots for yourself by yourself at the
end of the night, you might have a little bit.
Speaker 5 (22:02):
Of a problem.
Speaker 6 (22:04):
I didn't drink all day.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
What just because I have maybe one?
Speaker 8 (22:08):
Some call that. Someone will call that a Monday lead.
Speaker 9 (22:12):
That makes me an alcoholic.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
You earned it.
Speaker 6 (22:15):
Some people call it a problem. I called a solution.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
Dang, I know that's right, Lee.
Speaker 5 (22:20):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe. Here
on Fox Sports, Radio.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
You call it a couple of leads.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Hey Man.
Speaker 7 (23:47):
Yeah, did y'all know that Chris Rock got forty million.
Speaker 8 (23:51):
For that slab?
Speaker 5 (23:53):
What do you mean?
Speaker 7 (23:55):
I don't think he'd settled it was a settlement or
or whatever it is.
Speaker 8 (24:00):
He got forty million out of it.
Speaker 7 (24:02):
I think I could be wrong, but I feel like
I just saw that he's he god awarded forty million dollars.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
He got forty million for getting bitched on stage in
front of her.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Get bitched now.
Speaker 5 (24:18):
For forty million? I let that bum slap meap.
Speaker 6 (24:25):
I think he signed a forty million dollar contract with Netflix.
They deemed him, you know, because of all the press.
Is that what it is that he was worth it?
To give him forty million for a new comedy deal?
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Oh okay, all right, I must have read it wrong.
Well forty million, jeez, well I do.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
My favorite part of that whole situation was Will Smith's
punishment was like he's not allowed to come back to
the Oscars for ten years.
Speaker 5 (24:52):
Oh ruin my day? Boy, don't you going? Don't don't
take that from me? What bummer?
Speaker 4 (25:00):
I don't get to hang out with a bunch of
weirdos and dummies for a couple hours every single year.
Get out of my face. Sorry, Lee, don't mean to
disrespect the Oscars. I know that's a big thing for you,
but here's what's a big thing for us. Ty Iraq

(25:42):
all furnished by tire rack dot Com the way tire
buying should be. Kyle Shannan was asked about the new
kickoff rule in the NFL.
Speaker 5 (25:51):
Here was his thought.
Speaker 10 (25:52):
Have you thought about the idea of maybe just kicking
it through the back of the end zone, putting them
at the thirty.
Speaker 8 (25:57):
It's only a five yard difference from a year ago.
Speaker 6 (26:00):
It's the hell of an idea.
Speaker 10 (26:02):
I haven't thought of that. Oh yeah, we're all talking
about that, and it looks like it'll make a lot
of sense once the season starts. But you know, this
was our first week us doing it. It was our first
week really getting more teams besides the Hall of Fame
game and stuff to evaluate it. When you can start
there at the thirty and the average starting lines of
twenty nine, you know, it doesn't seem like there's that
much of a difference or to really go with the
risk of it, but also can be an advantage too.
(26:25):
You know, we'll see how good are eleven are that
we put out there, how our returners are and stuff,
whether people give you the opportunity for it, and just
the spacing of it and stuff. I think seems closer
to more of an offensive play than a special team's play,
So there are some similarities in that, but I always
believe the key to special team is just being sound.
You always want to win the game on special teams.
But the main thing is you don't lose it. And
(26:46):
when you're experiencing with new things like this, there's a
lot of unknowns and that's so we all got to
be very involved in it.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
This new kickoff and a lot of breathing. This new
kickoff kind of sucks. I'll be honest with you. I
thought it was just overreaction Fons.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
Brandon over a week what we're over.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
A weekend a couple of weeks in and I just
don't get it, Like it hasn't grown on me at all,
and you don't like it.
Speaker 5 (27:15):
I just know, maybe if it's weird.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
I'm with Jonas on this one. That hasn't had the
impact I thought it would.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
You know, yeah, kind of kind of kind of just nimmicky.
Speaker 7 (27:27):
It's too much gimmick changing the game, man, And I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
I just am not.
Speaker 7 (27:34):
Sold on the fact that it's being changed in the right,
the right manner, in the right regard.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
I just I don't I don't know. I don't know.
I don't like it. Yeah, I don't like it. Do
you think I have my son's flip flops on? And
I don't like that? Either what mean, yeah.
Speaker 7 (27:54):
But I know they're like a little bit smaller than mine.
Speaker 5 (27:58):
Flip flops are slides.
Speaker 7 (28:00):
There's slides. They're the easy, the easy slides, you know. Yeah,
I don't know. But anyways, it's both both irritating.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
You know, do you think anybody, any coach in the
NFL has any sort of idea what the hell they're
going to do after a week so far?
Speaker 7 (28:19):
Do you think there's a chance at see the stupidity
in this to the.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
The normal kickoff rule?
Speaker 4 (28:29):
I mean Rich Pasacia said there'll be some amendments to
it or whatever that he expects that during the course
of the season. I just if this is what it's
going to look like, I don't know, like what we're doing,
Like why not just have everybody go back.
Speaker 7 (28:45):
To just looking less and less like the NFL man, Yeah,
I mean high school and college isn't even doing it,
you know what I mean? Like if this was such
a like a like a move, like a move of moves,
wouldn't you think that it would be universally accepted and adopted.
Speaker 8 (29:04):
It's a good point.
Speaker 7 (29:05):
Nobody's doing it, right, I just I think it's just
so gimmicky, man like you're changing what has made the
NFL the NFL, like piece by piece, and at some
point we're going to turn back and we're gonna look
at it and we're gonna be like, my god, this
really is like not the NFL that I grew up
on or I grew up with, or my granddad or
(29:26):
my my my father, Like it's not this isn't the same. Yeah,
I just I don't know, like these are these are things.
These are moments where you sit there and you're like,
what what is this?
Speaker 2 (29:37):
Like what is that? What is that? It doesn't look right?
Speaker 7 (29:42):
It looks so out of place, Like Okay, it's acceptable
in in the XFL or the US USFL. That's that's fine,
like do that, you know, like but in the in
the league, like in the pros, Like I don't know,
that doesn't that makes sense to me. But you know,
(30:02):
here nor there.
Speaker 5 (30:03):
Wedge breakers don't exist anymore. Correct, that's gone.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
I mean, because it's not really there's no need. Yeah,
and you definitely don't want this new rule.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
I mean, what if they just said, all right, we'll
go back to the original kickoff and uh, you know,
wedge breakers will give you. That's your job and your
job only similar.
Speaker 7 (30:22):
To a how I built my reputation. I mean my
freshman year million dollars a year. That was how I
built my reputation.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
Million dollars a year to go take ten off your life, Like,
let's just like anybody sign it up for that.
Speaker 5 (30:35):
Go light somebody up. I'm just saying, like.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
Why I gotta be ten years?
Speaker 5 (30:39):
I don't know. It's like how many of these collisions?
Speaker 7 (30:44):
I mean I should be dead gone by now then,
because I was busting wedges up every game bruh, right,
literally like two three.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Times a game.
Speaker 5 (30:53):
How many wedges you?
Speaker 2 (30:54):
So you got to.
Speaker 7 (30:55):
Think if I did that for an entire season, that's
that's probably like fifty six years.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
So am I dying soon?
Speaker 5 (31:02):
How many wedges you bust?
Speaker 8 (31:03):
I hope not.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
A lot.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
Like I said, I was averaging like at least two
three a game my freshman year, going to do this
like busting the wage like literally like if you what
you envision busting a wadge, looks like that's what I
was doing. I was running down to hey, bru they
had me on because the wage breakers were on the
(31:28):
hash marks, right, So I was on the hash mark
and I had this thing. I hyped myself so bad
because I wasn't playing They weren't playing me, you know,
in the regular game. So I was like, man, I
am going to f somebody up out here right now
and it's going to go down. So I was so
to try to keep guys from hitting me before I
(31:49):
got to the wadge. I would I would huff and
puff really loud, so I'd be going down the hash.
Speaker 9 (31:53):
Like by the time I got to the wedge, I'd
be like, true story.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
I don't know why.
Speaker 7 (32:10):
I mean, I felt like it worked like nobody they
I think they thought I was so crazy they didn't
want to hit me. But I would be making the
wildest grunt noises while I was running down the field,
and then I'd slow it down and just just hold
it when I.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Hit the wedge. That was That was my story up
sticking to it.
Speaker 5 (32:34):
Sheesh.
Speaker 4 (32:36):

got a lot of an ability.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
It was before COVID that he played, wasn't it.
Speaker 8 (37:39):
He's been out that long ago.
Speaker 6 (37:41):
Yeah, he hasn't played an NFL game since twenty eighteen.
Speaker 8 (37:44):
Yeah, tang, okay, even throw it back.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Yeah, I feel like it was that one.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
Well, his most recent on field work came in the
XFL last season, twenty twenty three season.
Speaker 5 (37:55):
Yeah, I'll look at that XFL giving people another chance.
What else we got?
Speaker 2 (38:02):
Me?
Speaker 5 (38:02):
What else do we have? We have the League's Cup.
Speaker 6 (38:04):
The competition between the MLS and Legua MX is back
with the Round of thirty two tonight. Most of it's
on Apple tv Plus, but you can find one game
on FS one, that being New York City FC versus
the U A n L.
Speaker 4 (38:17):
I'm definitely on that one. The other ones on Apple
TV Plus for some reason, I'm not. I don't know
what it is out on those.
Speaker 8 (38:24):
I figure you'd be in on this entire thing.
Speaker 5 (38:26):
But yeah, about I get enough at home. I'm good.
Speaker 6 (38:33):
Guys, it's uh, the National Day of Tattoo Removal. Do
you believe that people who have tattoo should be able
to remove tattoos?
Speaker 8 (38:41):
Yeah? Why not?
Speaker 5 (38:43):
They never It never looks right. Your skin's all they
doesn't look right.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
Yeah, it's like burnt. It's like like a burnt scar.
Speaker 7 (38:52):
Now the one thing that you didn't want people to see, like, oh,
you got your boyfriend's name tadded on your neck or
your butt or your boob, and it's like, now you
gotta always hear about like what did you get removed?
You know, the one thing you don't want people to see,
you don't want to talk about. You married, got kids,
all kinds of stuff, you know what I mean. And
you're talking about your ex boyfriend's uh tattoo, the name that.
Speaker 5 (39:14):
Just covered up with another tattoo.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Exactly. That's what I'm That's what I was getting at.
I'm out.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
So you're trying to say you don't have any tattoos
you would you would have removed if you could.
Speaker 5 (39:24):
I but yeah, well it's a thorn band.
Speaker 4 (39:27):
So me if I'm gonna well, I'm not gonna let
you disrespect my thorn band.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Okay, I wasn't knitting that specific one, but okay, that
barbed wire gotta go.
