Speaker 4 (01:17):
Well, don't worry, the missus has got yours.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
I know, I know. No, that was on the phone.
Where are you at, I'm I'm down in Florida.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Oh, I mean this is Yeah, it's gonna be way
too much fun, way too much fun. So we will
put those aside before we get everybody in trouble here
and be off and running here for hour two of
the program. Now, speaking of getting in trouble, Jade and
Daniels might get in trouble all right, Dan Quinn, the

(01:50):
head coach of the Washington Commandos. You know, apparently last
week Jade and Daniels checked out of a play ended
up completing like a forty yard pass. But they were
worried because he nearly got hammered on the play and
the play that was initially called, I believe was a
run play.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
So he checked out. But why do that?

Speaker 3 (02:11):
In the preseason, they're worried about Kim getting hit. The
latest is he did not get down and slide properly,
so they want him to learn how to slide and
get down to protect his body. And so Dan Quinn
was asked about all of that after the game this past.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
Weekend Double Secret probation.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
He is on all right, and but no for him,
I thought he had another.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Really good outing.

Speaker 6 (02:33):
Honestly, I don't know passing wise what it was, but
the accuracy, the decision making of where to go. He
really is a unique competitor and so but yes, he
was definitely in trouble again with the head coach. That's
exactly right. So he does not have a zero poys zero.
I would absolutely assure you of that. But yeah, I

(02:56):
did that come out.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
On the TV. I was telling him to slide or
get down. Is that there we go?

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Why has he not been named the starter yet? What
are we doing here? Like they've just not like there's
been no announcement.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
Do you need him to be I mean, I feel
like it's almost so obvious that I don't know that
you need.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Him to be named the starter? Do you?

Speaker 4 (03:16):
I mean you would just.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
Like it to be like, oh I checked that off
the box Johnson.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
No, I mean I would just like it because we
need we need an official announcement.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Okay, so we don't.

Speaker 5 (03:27):
All right, here's the thing is, the game is gonna
be played week one. We're gonna watch him trot out
onto the field. We're gonna go, hey, there's Jade Daniels,
just like we thought.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Okay, well then I'm gonna stir up a quarterback controversy.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Let's go through this.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
I believe that Sam Hartman should get the job. Brady,
what are your thoughts on that. I think Sam Hartman
should be the starting quarterback for the worst.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
I think they drafted Jade Daniels number two for all
to be their quarterback, so that seems pretty parent. I
think even Sam Hartman would probably understand that too.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Right.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
By the way, year to the day almost that we
got to see Sam Hartman and Notre Dame play in Dublin, Ireland.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yeah, that was good time.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
I don't know why you didn't want to go.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Back Marcus Mariota as the second string, by the way,
and driscoold they have your boy, Sam Hartman fourth.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yeah, he'll be there though.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
I mean they they paid him a good amount for
you know, for where he was taken.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
I guess that's how you put it.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
So any concern or any problem with his inability to
get down or him checking out of that play that
dan Quinn has talked about.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
No, I think this is an awful topic for us
to focus on and spend any time on today. I
would rather talk about Lee's weekend. Uh, you know, extracurricular activities.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
All right, give me one second here, hold on, give
me one second. Leash were moving on from that topic.
Govern out all right.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
Oh worst mistake I was I made was turning it
on and leaving the rapid radio on. Wow.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
I was like, oh no, this is not a good idea.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
So oh man, all right, So do you want to
do you want to transition smoothly over to the Steelers
quarterback conversation?

Speaker 4 (05:21):
You want to Russell Wilson.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
Levar's got is a controversy?

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Is it a controversy?

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yes? It is. So.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Russ made his first appearance with the Steelers that did
not go all that smooth for Pittsburgh, which by the end,
I think their starting center towards Rotator Cuff, so goes
from bad to worse for Pittsburgh. But Mike Tomlin, the
head coach of the Steelers, spoke over the weekend after
the game. Obviously he's got a situation going on with

(05:51):
Russell Wilson. He's got a situation going on with Justin Fields.
You know, he's having a vamp through this whole thing,
just like we heard on the show. And so here
was Mike Tomlin post game.

Speaker 7 (06:01):
It's somewhat of an incomplete study because you just don't
get a chance to see him operate or us operate,
or us established rhythm and personality when you're not winning
possession downs and we weren't, you know, the first three
or so series of the game. It was you know,
three and out, and that's you're not going to get
an opportunity to establish rhythm or or played away that

(06:21):
you would like as an individual or collective.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
It's going to be the first year they go sub
five hundred under Mike Tomlin.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
I thought, here's the thing is LeVar gave this very
passionate pitch about the preseason and how much he dislikes
it to start the show. I'm gonna say, my part
of the preseason that I can't stand is us reading
too much into it. So I am not one giving
up on the Steelers being a sub five hundred football

(06:51):
team because of what we've seen so far in the
quarterback play. I mean, we've seen other quarterbacks get off
the slow starts in general in the regular season and
turn it on. Let's just give this time. I mean,
the first thing I'll point out, by the way, is
because I saw some you know, when I was watching
the game that I went back and saw some clips.

(07:12):
The offensive line is the biggest concern.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
I've count ye talk about it.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
I mean, when you go back and watch them of
the plays people are dogging Russell Wilson, I'm like, okay,
are we not gonna talk about the right tackle though,
getting absolutely bullied back into his lap, Like that's the
first issue. If you're in the Pittsburgh Steelers and you
don't have your offensive line right, it doesn't matter what
Russell Wilson justin fields does. It doesn't matter what your

(07:36):
backfield looks like, or Jalen Warren, who's banged up now,
is gonna miss a little bit of time, it doesn't matter.
Doesn't matter if pickets can separate and could be the
best receiving in the league, You're not gonna have enough
time to get into football. Like this team, to me,
has been built on defense and been built on nasty
offensive lines, physicality on offense, and then the.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Ability to create big play.

Speaker 5 (07:55):
That's their their mo that's their their history throughout time, correct,
but they do not have that right now, at least
in my opinion. That's a greater concern than the quarterback
situation is.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
In my mind, yeah, the old line is a concern.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
And that's why I felt like this is a conversation
because what we did not see Russell Wilson do was
move around and obviously you know he we've talked or
it's been talked about him having the calf injury. I mean,
is he to the age now where what he did
in that game is what he's going to do, which
is He's going to dump that thing off quickly. I'm

(08:32):
going to check it down very quickly. And then now
that that begs the question whether he has thrown for
more yardage then justin fields or not, whether he's been
a more impactful player in ways that he's played, even
in Denver, more than justin fields. Is justin fields the

(08:54):
better option because of the offensive line not being very
you know, very good. I mean, the running game does
not look like it's going to be able to sustain
if the offensive line is getting collapsed as easily as
they were in this last game. So does that now

(09:17):
beg the question justin Fields is willing to run, He's
willing to be an extra running back out of that
backfield and go get extra yards. I just wonder is
he is there Should there be the considerations as they
move forward, because again, I hate preseason, so I don't

(09:37):
know if what is taking place is going to happen
in the regular season. I don't know if there's a
direct correlation. So but if it does turn out that
this offensive line isn't very good once they get into
the regular season, then are you going to as you

(09:59):
heard coach talking about winning those possession those possession plays,
how are you going to win those possession plays if
you can't complete those passes.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Because you don't have enough time.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Are you going to just resign to the fact that
you're going to be punting the ball and you got
to play defense? Which their defense is going to be
pretty sick this year. I think they're going to be really,
really good. So if their defense is playing up to standard.
To answer your question, Jonas, no, they will not be
a sub five hundred team. But will they be a

(10:34):
team that's above five hundred that has been kind of
looked at the same way that they've been looked at
in previous years, which is in a lot of ways
not good enough. That's not good enough anymore. To just
be above five hundred or to make it to the playoffs,
that's just not good enough anymore. So how is this

(10:55):
going to play out? I think there is going to
be a quarterbacks controversy, and I think it's going to
be because Russell Wilson is going to be the starter.
But Russell Wilson is going to try to win the
games with his arms and I don't know how much
he's going to use his legs and his feet. And
that is going to become more of a conversation, I

(11:16):
believe as we get deeper into the regular season getting started.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
So Stefanski said that, you know, on the subject of
offensive line health, the Browns, Yeah, well the Browns are
butchered on.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
The offensive Yeah, right right there, really bad.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
And so Stefanski, you guys are talking about the offensive
line play. He's basically He's basically said, now like, look,
I don't know if we're going to play Deshaun Watson
in the final preseason game. That was the plan, but
with all the injuries and the health and performance of
the offensive line, now he's second guessing it, like, you know,
I mean, that's the plan, but you know, I take
it day by day, week by week. Wouldn't you say, like,

(11:55):
if that's the case, just table that as well too.
If they're dealing with all offensive line issues, much like
Pittsburgh is on the case of Cleveland, Like, wouldn't you
just say, all right, let's just wait to.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
The regular sharp transition to Cleveland.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Well, no, I'm just saying it was a subject of
offensive line play.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
I get that, But I mean I thought we were
talking about the quarterbacks there in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
First leash, not into the offensive line talk either over
and out over.

Speaker 5 (12:18):
And now our kids have school, so no one's listening
to the radio right now. Back to the original conversation.
I'm not sure why transitioned so properly to Cleveland.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
It was offensive line play. You were talking about the
poor play.

Speaker 5 (12:36):
The butt the quarterbacks. We're talking about Russell Wilson, Okay,
And it.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Was also the offensive line play. And so I brought
up to Shaun Watson because it's the same division.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
You just want to bring up to Sean Watts some
sort of hand cannon.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Joe.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
No, I'm trying to I have run down, I have
rundown in integrity here look on the rundown, it says
Toshaun Watson right there up at the top.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Us to go back to how you transitioned into this
topic and talking about quarterbacks, because we went from Jane
Daniels and Washington and why haven't they announced them the
starter to you pivoted to the quarterback situation in Pittsburgh.
That's correct, Okay, So we were still trying to hang
on that part of it. And yes, the offensive line
has been bad, but it was more in regards to
the quarterback play that was not good that we saw

(13:22):
from Pitts. Could you guys finish that topic for us?

Speaker 4 (13:24):
Could you guys not see the thread there? Okay?

Speaker 3 (13:26):
So we started in Washington, where LeVar started his career,
then we transitioned over to Pittsburgh, Levar's favorite team growing up,
and then we got to Cleveland, which I mean, I'm
just trying. I'm trying to weave it all together here and.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
With a question, get him out of here, Lee, Lee,
get him out of here South.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
So the old line is an issue, but the other
concern would be I would have I'm a Pittsburgh Steelers fan,
is if you watched the Matt Kennada offense all last
season and then really even for the years before that,
and then you are watching this now in the preseason.
I think that's the other person that's got to be
concerned is Arthur Smith. Like he's the guy who's supposed

(14:09):
to come in and fix all of this, and yet
he's got an offensive.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Line that feels like, at least right now, has some holes.

Speaker 5 (14:17):
He's got a quarterback situation that no one's running away
with it. They essentially given it to Russell Wilson to
be the starter and then maybe Fields could come in.
But it's not like Fields is lighting the world up either.
I mean outside of a couple of runs which were great,
like that was that was it. That's so you've got

(14:37):
to think too that if if you're Arthur Smith. Now
again it's a new offense there in Pittsburgh. With Arthur Smith,
maybe he's holding stuff back. Maybe he doesn't want to
show everything in preseason like good o c's you know
do they don't show all their stuff. They just run
a few basic concepts. Oh guys respond, Maybe that's more
of it. But he's also a guy that I think

(14:57):
more than any other offensive coordinator in the LEA League
immediately jumps into a situation where people are going to
be talking about him.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
It's not just gonna be the quarterback player, you know,
the play on the field.

Speaker 5 (15:08):
It's going to be the play calling and that's going
to be dissected purely because of how bad Matt Canada
was the previous few years. And everyone knows that this
defense is holding its own. It's it's been able to
hold up its end of the bargain. It's not really
up to the offense. I think that's the interesting thing
about Pittsburgh to me is they've got a lot of
moving parts in regards to who's going to take the

(15:29):
blame for when things don't go wrong there.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
If they don't go well.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Mike, Mike Tomlin is going to take the blame for
certain and that's that's a big deal because I think
he doesn't get out of the way of it this year,
Like you can't if if it was Matt Canada and
now you got Arthur Smith doing it now, it's it's
like you can't keep saying, okay, it's so crazy because

(15:55):
it's like kind of the same storyline in State College,
you know, just two hours what hour and a half?
You know, going what east, northwest, eastern, anyway central, h
It's just you can't get out of the way of it.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Yeah, yeah, go on there next week. You can't put
out the way of it.

Speaker 5 (16:17):
And to answer your question though, in regards to how
do I like you see the division, this will be
the most fun division to follow this year. I can
promise you that. I think every single team there is
a question. Like when we heard alber Breer talk about
the Bengals and his visit there, He's like, well, if
everyone's on the field, okay, kind of a big if, right,

(16:38):
Like Burrow's dealt with health issues. Jamar Chase wants a
new contract. We hear Chadow chose single say he thinks
they're gonna get one done with this week. But if
they don't get one done this week, like he ain't
gonna be on the field unless he has a new contract,
that's a problem. We already know the t Higgins, you know,
stuff that's been going on there. They don't have a
deep roster. So if they do, you know, suffer some injuries,
that could be some There can be some issues there.

(17:01):
You go to Baltimore, they lose Mike McDonald out to
Seattle to become the head coach. How does the defense
adjust that's been one of the most consistent, you know,
parts of that team. And what does Lamar look like,
you know, in year two in this offense? As they
continue to grow in a Todd munkin you know, I
think I think they're the favorite still. Like, if I
was a betting man, I'd be putting all my money
on Baltimore to win that division. But then you've got

(17:23):
Cleveland that's got this ridiculously talented roster that's not healthy
right now, and that's a problem. And you're looking at like,
all right, how does Deshaun Watson look in this offense?
Does he finally you know, have the type of year
they've hoped he was going to have since he's gotten there,
And can he stay healthy? Actually, every single one of
these teams has questions, and I think you can make
a case any single one of those four teams could

(17:46):
win it. You know, I think Tomlin's the best coach, right.
Stefanski won Coach the Year last year based on what
he dealt with with all their adversity. But that's not
to take anything away from you know, John Harball, and
he's probably to me right there, you know, next to
next to Tomlin, like those two. And and then you've got,
you know, obviously a Cincinnati Bengals team that I think

(18:06):
has a solid staff. But it just you could you
could pick any one of those teams to emerge to
win the division. I think it's gonna be that tight,
that much fun.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Way more unknowns than knowns in terms of why it
would turn out to be one team's division versus the other.
I think that that's to me what I would say,
just too many unknowns.

Speaker 5 (18:29):
But could you name another division where you feel like
all four teams could win it?

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Like I was trying to think.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
Through that, Like I don't feel about that way about
the AFC West, Not just I don't feel that way
about the AFC South.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
I don't feel that way about the AFC East.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
Yeah, there's one team usually in every division that you.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Go, the NFC South.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
Yeah, but then the NFC South it's like everyone's I
guess we're just right off the Saints at this point,
the Panthers there.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
If Sam Darnold plays as well as they're hoping he does,
then the NFC North could be wide open cut it.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
I mean, I mean, I just I think it's Detroit's
division wanted to be.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Wide Why do I want it to be wide.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Open to be Yeah, I think that the Bears have
a lot more room than people think that Vikings are
in rebuild mode and now they've got a backup, you know,
essentially starting for them. That's gonna be a lot tougher
than people think. I'm not as I think you've got
You've got two good teams that are going to be
playoff teams in Green Bay and Detroit, and the other

(19:36):
two is we'll kind of see where they're at. I
don't think you can make a legitimate case for either
of those two teams winning it like you could in
THENFC North.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
What if I said the NFC West, though.

Speaker 5 (19:49):
I still don't, that'd probably be the closest. But is
anyone making a legitimate shot for the Cardinals?

Speaker 2 (19:56):
I would?

Speaker 1 (19:56):
I say, the Cardinals could be a decent team this year, man,
but they're not going to win the division. I think
they could compete for the division this year, I don't
think so. I think they can a healthy Kyler Murray,
the addition of Marvin Harrison junior. See if it was
the opposite direction, if it was a quarterback that was
coming in as a new beat, I would say I

(20:18):
would say that I think they've been such a competitive
team when they have Kyler Murray on the field.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
So when it comes to the odds on DraftKings, the
Steelers amongst all teams that are the biggest long shot
in the division, the Steelers have the shortest odds, followed
by Minnesota. So Pittsburgh is eight to one to win
the division. Minnesota's plus nine fifty, so a little over
nine to one to win the division. Yet, so I
mean it seems like those two are at least the

(20:47):
most plausible. But you know, in Arizona plus thirteen hundred,
which means you throw down ten bucks, you'll want a lerig.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
Yet if they.

Speaker 5 (20:54):
Win the division over, that's not what it is.

Speaker 4 (20:56):
Yeah, it's basically basically chet.

Speaker 5 (21:01):
You guys got it.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
I'm telling you got to get all these things leash
for wrapping.

Speaker 3 (21:05):

LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you Hair By
the way, somebody wrote on uh X this weekend they said, uh,
my wife just randomly asked me, Hey, whatever happened to

(22:31):
two bros and a hoe referring to our show? So
I don't know who they were calling the hoe, but
you know, I hope you guys didn't take offense to that.

Speaker 5 (22:42):
I mean, I would consider LeVar myself more of the bros.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Why is that?

Speaker 2 (22:46):
Okay? Ah? You know, just what do you tell on
our hands?

Speaker 3 (22:53):
First of all, I haven't put lotion on my hands
at all this morning. But if you want to stir
that pot, I'll do it live on the air, and
in fact, I'll hit you up on a rapid radio
to let you know I'm.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
Doing it too. Yeah, that's messing around here, man.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
I wouldn't recommend turning rapid radios off with you, LeVar,
Come on, man, not the way.

Speaker 5 (23:09):
I think When you're getting in the way of the
morning routine of a family of six, you know, yeah,
that could be a problem.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
That could be a bit of a problem.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
But Labar, if you had six people in your family
and six different rapid radios, you could just like communicate.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Whatever you wanted to.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
I mean, you could that, right, you could, yeah, telling.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
You man keep saying rapid radio.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
It's just rapid radios. It's the wind.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
No, I have a rapid radio. Readly. I don't need
you in my hair. I was enjoying.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
Jonas trying to get me to do to read Hello dah,
ruin my fun, ruin my fun.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
Well, if you want to wrap it, radios are there.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
It is the official communication device of Fox Sports Radio.
Rappid radios are an instant push to talk walkie talkie
as you've heard during the course of our show today,
offering national LTE coverage, meaning that we can talk to
Q wherever he is. Yeah, that's right, and no subscription
or monthly fees. Business owners, they can keep in touch

(24:09):
with up to two hundred staff at one time, and
it's a great alternative to mobile phones for your kids.
For a limited time, go to rapid radios dot com
and you'll get up to sixty percent off, free ups shipping,
and a free protection bag. Add Coke Radio and keep
adding to your savings. It says five percent more off.

(24:32):
There you go, five percent extra off or five percent off,
five percent connected within the sixty percent off.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
How about that? I just don't understand that part.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
It's frustrating, But go to Rapid Radios dot com nonethelesson
type in radio you'll be good.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
I mean, And for people that want to know just
how well this works, check this out. Hey, Lee, coming
up in about fifteen minutes from now, we are going
to have ourselves an FSR.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
I I are right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
Over look at that.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
That's pretty fire though, as man love walkie talkies, I
like what you did?

Speaker 4 (25:10):
You like that?

Speaker 3 (25:12):
Well, Brian dave Ball didn't like what Daniel Jones did
during the use.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
They used radios to talk to one another to I mean,
maybe they weren't.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
So this is coming on the heels of Tom Brady,
who was at the Fanatics Fest. He was asked about,
you know, Stephen A. Smith was asking him questions about, Hey,
so when you're a broadcaster, you want to be critical
of somebody, and so Tom Brady just kind of, you know,
throughout well, like say, Daniel Jones throws an interception, and
people took that as like, well, is he taking a
shot at Daniel Jones? But I'm not necessarily sure if

(25:45):
he meant it like.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
That, maybe he should have meant if he throws more
and that's true.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
So Daniel Jones first game action coming off the knee
injury over the weekend, did throw a couple of interceptions.
One was a pick six, and so Brian dave Ball
spoke afterwards, and I don't know, seems like somebody who's
a little frustrated with the whole situation.

Speaker 10 (26:07):
Tough to win a game when you turn the ball
over five times, start with that. So one, you know,
decision at the back in our end zone, give up
a score, you know, the only ones one on one.
You know Stingle, he makes a good play, turn it
over there in a second half. So don't give yourself
much of a chance when you turn the ball over. Obviously,
something we need to improve on. So that's what we'll
try to do. We got to play action pass call

(26:29):
a little bit of time. You move to the left
and then made a poor decision backed up. Yeah, I'm
going to go back and I'll go back and look
at it.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
We'll evaluate it.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
That's what these games are for.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
It seems so fed up. It seems so fed up
by the whole thing. But to Daniel Jones's defense, first
game back off the knee injury, maybe some rust the defense, well,
I'm trying. I'm trying everything I can here, but it
doesn't seem like things are going all that hot. In
New York with the Daniel Jones a company walking.

Speaker 5 (27:03):
I had a friend ask me, They're like, hey, well,
what do you think the disconnect is with Daniel Jones?

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Like what do you mean?

Speaker 5 (27:09):
They're like, well, he's tall, he's athletic, he seems to
be smart, and you know he had that you know,
rookie year where the team did well. But why hasn't
he been able to grow? And I think you know,
in those in particular the play where they're backed up,
I think what you see happens is you don't want

(27:31):
to make a bad play worse, and he has a
tendency at times to make bad plays worse.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
And that was an example of that.

Speaker 5 (27:38):
You know, got pressure, you know, ended up trying to
throw the ball away instead throws.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
It directly to the other team for a pick six.

Speaker 5 (27:44):
And there's probably in a number of times where hey,
nothing's there, get rid of it, throw it away, take
a sack or scramble for whatever you can. You know,
that's that's fine. You know that's not going to kill
your team.

Speaker 8 (27:55):
Two.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
Oftentimes there's turnovers associated sometimes with his play, fumbles, et cetera.
And that's the concern is when you know you got
the playoff script in this league, when nothing's there, you
either have to create something or have the ability to
do something more. I'm not always so sure he can
do that now. In fairness to him, the protection always

(28:17):
hasn't been great. He always, you know, hasn't had always
weapons around him. But now he's really faced in a
pivotal year for him to make a case for himself
to have MO league neighbors and you know a few
other pieces slaten as well. But that's about it, and
he's going to have to overcome a lot of that.

(28:37):
And I think the hard part is is you play,
you know, in a division itself. I mean, look at
Jalen Hurts for example, when something is off script. He
can create, he can do something of his legs, he
can buy time, make big throws with his arms. Jane
Daniels will have the you know, very similar ability to
do so, Dak Prescott similar ability to do so. I
just feel like when those opportunities present themselves to Daniel Jones,

(28:59):
he struck at being able to capitalize on those plays.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
And I'm not asking him to play the.

Speaker 5 (29:04):
Level of a Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen or someone
like that. I'm just saying that seems to be the
hard part about if you're a quarterback in the NFL
and you want to be one of the best, one
of the elites, because you're a roster around you isn't
one of the best, You're gonna have a really, really
hard time if you don't have those extraordinary skills. And

(29:25):
I just I don't know that he's got that. I
think that's the hard part is he's, you know, put
his team in a cap situation with his contract, and
he's put you know, really and I actually say the
teams put themselves in this position by signing him to
that extension when they really should have flipped the way
they looked at it, paid sae Quon, kept it more

(29:45):
long term, and then played it out year by year
Daniel Jones either until he earned it and you had
to pay him a huge sum of money or until
he proved otherwise.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
And you could have moved on and drafted a quarterback.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
Is day Ball in the hot seat, because.

Speaker 5 (30:02):
I think when you look at what happened in this offseason,
right if you look at the you know, the changes
in the defensive staff, the whispers about the play calling between.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Him and Mike Kafka and all that.

Speaker 5 (30:14):
I think if if things don't go all this year,
maybe they give him the benefit of the doubt and
they'd allow him to go into the next year and
draft a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
But I don't know. I mean, I think there might
be a.

Speaker 5 (30:26):
Cause for concern to hey, do you want that rookie
quarterback to have Brian Daboles.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
As their head coach? Like that question would be asked.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
With with your Belichick sitting out there and his ties
to the Giants.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
You're paying the guy forty million. It's not to hand
the ball off to a twelve million dollar back. I
feel like Joe showing, I feel like he should be
on the hot seat, like you put yourself out there
for exposure that way, And if that is indeed your thinking,

(31:04):
and what's what the situation and how it's unfolding in
the Giants building and that that franchise, I would think
that he would be on the hot seat and and
that there would be a new GM to come in
break down what the current roster looks like and address

(31:27):
the most pressing need, which is getting a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
That's what I would think this would all lead to.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
And I think that quote would be a damning quote
against him, Like you just got rid of one of
the best things that's happened to your franchise in recent years,
and that was your that was your reasoning for letting
him go, is that We're not going to pay this
guy all this money to hand the ball off the

(31:57):
saquon Like, that's to me that quote. If I'm a
Giants fan, that quote will keep popping up as this
season goes along. If Daniel Jones continues to play as
poorly as he did in this preseason game.

Speaker 3 (32:13):

Speaker 5 (33:25):
All right, Lee, what do we got?

Speaker 10 (33:29):
Lee?

Speaker 4 (33:29):
What do we got? I was zoned with the guys
on Friday. Yeah, but that three days ago.

Speaker 11 (33:35):
Well, I've been doing a lot of walking lately. Oh, look,
too much walking your chev legs? Yeah, a little uh,
a little chaff on.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
Why have you been walking so much?

Speaker 5 (33:46):
Because some of our listeners in who don't know.

Speaker 11 (33:48):
Oh yeah, so last week, of course, we had all
heard about the uh I don't think so, the neighbors
and the you know, my neighborhood, my friendly neighborhood bumps
who decided to break into my car and steal my
nomadic bag along with my laptop and all my forms
of ID. So that's that's a whole fun hassle and
a half that I have to deal with. I got

(34:10):
to go get a new driver's license and a new passport,
and on top of all that, my car decided to
die outside of a liquor store. Ah yeah, Luckily, luckily
it was outside of a liquor store, so I could
immediately start self medicating. But now then I have to
get a new car.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
By the way, starting interrupt.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
But if Lee were to say to you guys, hey,
my car died, you have to you have to guess
what kind of place it was out in front of.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
Wouldn't you all say the liquor store.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
It would be the most the most feasible place for
it to be.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
Well, you got your valuables out, though not all of
them know, they're all still in the trunk.

Speaker 11 (34:49):
I got to go today, make my way to go
get my golf clubs and other stuff.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
You got your alcohol.

Speaker 4 (34:55):
Oh that's true.

Speaker 11 (34:56):
Yes, I did get that stuff out, that most important,
most thing. But now that I got to go find
a new car, I can't even test drive a car
because I have no form of identification to prove who
I am or that to allow me to drive a
car because of the freaking bums stole my identity, stole
my identity.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Do you need to ride home Todayly?

Speaker 11 (35:15):
I was gonna ask you for a ride today, Laurie,
and I appreciate that. I might take you up on
that later in the week.

Speaker 5 (35:21):
Hey, Lee, I would try to hold in some of
those parts you've got just you know, kind of brewing
up there.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
Oh I tried to.

Speaker 11 (35:26):
Yeah, I know, I got I know she's she's not
gonna offer me write anymore. I try to go, uh
use the restroom today, but you know, after a weekend
mondays are a little hard to use the d.

Speaker 5 (35:36):
That's too much, I mean, Lee, I are okay.

Speaker 4 (35:39):
Now, your foul movements, I'm not talking about my ball movement.

Speaker 11 (35:41):
I'm talking about other people's boulet movements.

Speaker 5 (35:43):
Oh God, what why are you speaking for other people
in their power movements.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
I'm saying, I can't even use the bathroom.

Speaker 5 (35:48):
It's unusable, Oh, because other people are already in there.

Speaker 11 (35:51):
Yeah, but it's a long weekend without uh, without without
being served.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
Who who are you throwing shade at?

Speaker 4 (35:58):
I don't know. I don't tell that you ain't me.

Speaker 11 (36:00):
I'm saying, it's a whole weekend full of crew crew,
well weekend crew. Oh, it doesn't get it doesn't get
clean between Friday.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
And Monday Mondays during football season. When Berto was here,
it's rough. I mean you and him had this place.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
I got some nerve talking about a clean, nice.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Fresh, smelling clean.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
Why is that bar?

Speaker 5 (36:23):
I mean, come on, come on, what are you talking about?

Speaker 2 (36:28):
What you're talking about, Willis? I keep talking about what
you're talking about.
