(01:02):
I mean, you know, maybe they thought they were gonna
I mean, maybe they thought they were gonna make it,
you know tang.

Speaker 5 (01:11):
Yeah, Well that's cold blooded.

Speaker 6 (01:14):
In college football, I'm not sure a is a forty
seven yard or at gimme.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
No, no, especially when you already missed one earlier.

Speaker 6 (01:23):
Right, I was just saying it probably needs to be
like a thirty yarder.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
For those of you that are not familiar with this.
Minnesota North Carolina. Last night, Minnesota an opportunity to win
the game on a forty seven yard field goal at home,
and they missed. And I think I think maybe somebody
there working the Pyro had a bad angle of the
kick because they set off the fireworks anyways at Minnesota,

(01:52):
So thank a little bit. I mean, if you go
to all that trouble to put them together and make
sure all the settings are right, I mean as well,
just you know, fire that thing off. At some point.
You can't just let us sit there. It's gonna go bad, So.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
You can't. You can't save the host for the next
home game.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Yeah, well you know, I mean, come on, like you
do all you do, all that work, you line them
all up, and then somebody tells you no, no, no, can't,
can't do it. Yet It's like, well, I mean.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Why not.

Speaker 6 (02:21):
What is Minnesota's next home game? Let's well, it's actually
just next week.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
So it could have held on to him. So they
beat Rhode Island next week.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
The fireworks don't go bad, you know, over the course
of a week. I would say this about that game.
A couple of things won. The weather delay helped out
because I was worried about having to focus on that
and the Colorado game at the same time. So the
fact that they kind of staggered it, I think worked
out for everybody. Also, can I just tell you a

(02:48):
fun story, all right, because I think it does apply
to what happened last night, and we've seen it over
the past several years. So there was a place like
back here over here in southern California in Carson next
to where the Chargers played their games for a while
until the stadium was getting built, stub Hub Center, And
there was also this little tennis court next to it.

(03:11):
And the little tennis court was designed I think it
was the Williams family was going to put on tennis
tournaments and whatnot. So it's this little eight yeah, eight
thousand seat outdoor arena, this venue, and it just wasn't
getting used. So these promoters decided, well, why don't we
throw some boxing events on there, just some smaller shows.
We'll see if we can draw a crowd, you know,

(03:31):
no big deal. It turned out to be the best
place to see a boxing event because every fight was good.
There was something about that ye StubHub Center, something about
that place. When they put a fight on, you got
an instant classic every time, and everybody talked about the
magic there, like there was something about that place. There
is something about the Thursday night opener on Fox because

(03:54):
every year it's a good game. And last night was
a great game between North Carolina and Minnesota and seeing
Mac Brown out there, they lose their starting quarterback, Brad
Johnson's son, who who's out there, Max Johnson, you know,
trying to trying to rally his team back, suffers a
knee injury. Brock Heward talking about, you know, his mom

(04:15):
in the stands, her being emotional. PJ. Fleck Minnesota chance
to win it at the gun, and then we still
got a fireworks show afterwards. It delivered yet again. Fox
has got some magic, some magic dust has been sprinkling
on that Thursday night opener for Fox delivers once again.
On college footballs.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Delivers once again.

Speaker 6 (04:34):
Oh yeah, and we even got a Chopper reference from
Jason Bennetti. You got a little, a little Chopper reference
in there.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
What do you mean, Jason, I've.

Speaker 6 (04:43):
Worked with him now at least once, maybe a couple
of times. But he loves the fact my dad calls
everyone Chopper. He thinks it's the funniest thing in the world.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
And so he threw it in there in the broadcast.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
He got it. He got it in the broadcast at
one point.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
Yeah, that's pretty cool.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
God, could we find that? Do you know when that happened?
I wonder because I.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Think I will go back and look. It was in
the second half of the game.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Nice, well, good for him. They did show the Minnesota
sky after they started the game, and it looked awesome
like they had been dealing They had been dealing with
some stuff. And then they roll out and their team
loses the home opener. But it was a fun, fun
watch all the way through. Fun watch with Colorado and

(05:27):
college Football's got a lot of fun action this upcoming week.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Dealing with stuff? Yeah, is anyone else dealing with stuff
this morning? Jonas?

Speaker 4 (05:34):
What do you mean?

Speaker 5 (05:35):
Oh no, We're like pretty direct.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
Question like anybody specifically? Or I mean, do you want
to give like what your name spec? Yeah, I don't
mean Lorena seems fine. I have shin splints you do
walking to Disney all day? I hurt my legs hurt
so bad.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
What shoes did you wear?

Speaker 7 (05:55):
Adidas?

Speaker 4 (05:57):
H I think I'm just flat footed like a duck. Yeah,
you know some arch support like a got a penguin walk,
you know, they say that that helps it, although never
seems to.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
How do you you.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Just like you lift your toes up and you walk
on your heels. They say it's supposed to, Like I
just it never worked for me. And I used to
get shin splints all the time. It never worked.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
What did you get shin splints from? Jonas?

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Just you know, running working out, you know, driving into
work like whatever, like just the same. Yeah, well, like
you know like like getting up working out and then
driving into work you.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Know, okay, d work, play and all of that.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
Well not just like stepping on the gas and then
the brake on the commute in that's what.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
About the what about the left leg? Where does shin
splints go with the left leg?

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Well, just you know, like when you're driving. I'm hoping
you guys are following along with me here, like driving
into work, like you know on time you like you Oh,
I see, I see So that's where like that could
that could be a mix up?

Speaker 2 (07:05):
You know, like so at least never gonna that's what you're.

Speaker 7 (07:07):
Saying, you know, actually a test of a tacoma yesterday,
Yeah I did, Cliff.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Yeah, and then forget to be that you had to
work today.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
You sound so vibrant. I guess it must have been
that little extra added sleep you gott. Oh wow, damn
sound wide awake?

Speaker 2 (07:30):
I do.

Speaker 5 (07:31):
I found alert.

Speaker 6 (07:33):
There needs to be an intervention you need to have
like a I don't know, something happened in your life,
just some sort of life event.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
Like over sleeping.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
It's true, this is this has got a bad path.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Jonas's boy.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Lead the lad.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
With Brady Quinn and LeVar Arrington.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
He didn't test drive my tacombe.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
It was a nice toa coma. I liked it.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
I might get it.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
Yeah, how about this sleep?

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Why don't you make your new bed the back of
Jonesis truck that way.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
I mean, it's not a bad idea, it's not a
horrible like.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
Get a sleeping bag, get an inflatable bed, put in
the back of Jonesi's truck.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
That that way. You always get there on time?

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Hey, Hey, you there was always the one can't get right?
Uh when you played right? What what did coach say
when they can't get right? Came into the the team
meeting room late?

Speaker 2 (08:43):
I mean, it depends on the coach, honestly.

Speaker 6 (08:47):
Usually, if all, there'd be some people who if the
guy was like that scarier, they knew they're gonna get it,
they would either try to sneak in or they just
wait and hope they didn't notice. That was usually the
best plan of action. And then they would try to
like slip in to their position meeting or you know,
offense defense meeting something like that. It's been like, oh,

(09:07):
I was in the bathroom, sorry, like like one of
those deals, or.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Or they would be for me, like I guess it
did you slid into one segment when we were aware
of uh outside that I don't know. Usually like they
want to address him as much, you know.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
So how this is how it would happen here. When
I was in school, you'd have staff they see you
come in late, because they always know where the entrances
are where you're coming in from the You have staff
like don't even go in there, just don't even go in,
just don't even go in there. And then you had
the few that you know they were pros at it.
So they go ahead and go on in and Joe
be like, hey, hey.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Hey just leave, just just get out, just get out,
just leave, just just get out.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
I don't go.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
That's got to be an awful feeling.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Make you get out and make you get up like
you try to slide in, sit in the seat, like
get up and leave. You had to sit there, and
you had to wait, and then you had to go
meet with them. I mean, this was never me because
I'm generally I'm one of those guys. I don't do
the whole late thing. I did, however, overslept a lift
a lift one time, because you know, back then, they

(10:23):
had alarm clocks that if the power went out, you
would actually your alarm clock would get reset and you
might oversleep. I don't know how that happens these days,
but that was not an excuse when I was in school.
Like I used to set two three alarm clocks just

(10:44):
just in case one would would you know, something would happen,
so I didn't wake up late. But in this particular case,
the alarm clocks got reset and I overslept, and like,
let's just say, to try to be on time, I
did everything humanly possible to try to get there. I
hit a sheet of black ice and I hit like

(11:05):
halfway up against the wall, fell down on my hip,
jumped up. Hip might have been broken, still jumped up,
kept running, got my clothes on, got into Hallubah Hall.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
As JT, the head.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Strength and conditioning coach, was blowing the whistle for it
to start. I was literally seconds milliseconds late for the workout,
and I just turned away and I walked out, And
just so people know why I'm never late. If you
ever wondered why Levar's never late, that was the first

(11:40):
and last time. It wasn't even my I'll say it,
I'll own it. It was my fault, but it was
the last time I was ever late for anything ever.
I walked out and just started throwing up everywhere, like everywhere,
just just vomiting, and went and sat in the locker
room and was just like tremendous this lead upset. And

(12:01):
it was because the awareness training that you have to
go through when you're late is so physically grueling and
so hard that it had people. The reputation of the
awareness training that JT did on Saturday's Battle or Sundays,
they were Sundays because we had games on Sundays. They

(12:23):
were so bad you had to clean up the weight room.
You had to first, you had to like polish and
wipe down all of the the racks and all the weights,
and then you had to do a special workout on
Sunday that was an awareness training workout to make you
aware of being late. And I was never late again.
I've never been late ever again in my life, my
entire life. I guess the moral of the story is,

(12:45):
I think we should put together an awareness training for Lee,
and I think we should take them through it.

Speaker 6 (12:52):
That should be just want to come through your life
history and really really dive into you got too many
damn kids to say like I've never been late. It's like, well,
your kids involved in stuff like late, never late. Sometimes
I'm never late. I am never late. In fact, not
only am I late? When have I ever been late?

Speaker 5 (13:14):
With you guys?

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Late?

Speaker 1 (13:18):
I wasn't late. I just couldn't go. I just I
wasn't late. I just couldn't go. I mean they wouldn't
let me out of the country.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
They weren't let and I didn't know. And I did
everything I did that needed to do to get it.
I just didn't get it in time. I mean, I
wasn't late. You never missed a flight because I was late, No, man,
not because I'm late. I'm not late. You guys may
have never paid attention to it. But I'm literally always

(13:50):
at least fifteen to twenty minutes early, always, always.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
You can you can count on it.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
None of y'all will ever beat me to where we're
supposed to be because I'm always crazy early, always ever
since that time my freshman year, I don't think I
slept the rest of my time in college because I
was too afraid of being late, Like like trauma.

Speaker 5 (14:13):
I was traumatized.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Will ever beat you.

Speaker 5 (14:17):
To work?

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Lee's in there, ye before me more often than not.
But y'all won't beat me there. Y'all won't beat me there.
Lee's usually there, Lee's Lee's always there before me. When
he's there, you.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Are, I actually do really appreciate that. All right, Something
tells me and I see you are.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
You're always there, dude, I'm always.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
There, you know.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Something tells me this will this will uh, this will
not be. This will not be the last we hear
of this, this discussion here today.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
It may come back up.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
I think it will, all right. So coming up next
here though, we will tell you about how somebody's late
in the NFL dang at. In fact, they're so late
they may never arrive. That's yours next year on FSR.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
Polly Fools Gohea with Tony Foodsco.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
As everybody knows, we're the hosts of the award winning
Polly and Tony Foodsco Show.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
But instead of us telling you how great we are,
here's how Dan Patrick described us when he came on
our show.

Speaker 5 (15:38):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
What are you doing? We were interrupting our promo.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Yeah, it wasn't talking about you. You took those clips
totally of context.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
Oh yeah, well after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you. Let me put this into context.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Shut up.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Yeah, anyway, just listening to the Paully and Tony Foosco
Show on iHeartRadio Apple Podcast. Oh you get your podcasts,
YE two Pros and a cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you coming up
at about twenty minutes from now from the tiraq dot

(16:15):
com studios. We've got some over unders for you. We
got a busy weekend in college football, and we are
going to have you locked and loaded for all of
it on a Labor Day weekend, a Labor Day extravaganza
of college football here, So that'll be yours here a
little over twenty minutes from now. We are fastly approaching

(16:36):
the NFL season. A team that's been discussed at nauseum
are the New York Jets, and a lot of it
is about Aaron Rodgers, and a lot of it is
about Robert Sala. And meanwhile, lurking in the distance is
Hassan Reddick, who they made a deal to acquire this offseason,
and their GM Joe Douglas spoke about the status of

(16:58):
Hassan Reddick, who reported took his physical after being traded
and then just decided, yeah, I ain't coming unless I
get a new contract. Here was the Jets GM.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
I mean, in simple terms, we we did.

Speaker 8 (17:14):
We we did talk about an extension once that uh
once one wasn't agreed upon. You know, we had the
conversation and we felt good about about making the trade,
and so you know obviously game here, reported had a
great day here, and again we just uh, we're just

(17:37):
waiting his arrival. From our standpoint, you know, we've been
really clear and direct with with our communication and a
lot of respect for for for the agent, lot of
respect for the player.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
And I have faith that this all give results.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
Yeah, So I don't know what faith that would be.
It seems pretty clear he's not getting paid.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Not the same faith. This is his song reddicks though.
That's what I say. They have different different faith.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
Are we having a faith off between faith off?

Speaker 1 (18:09):
That's exactly what this is, because they ain't on the
same faith frequency.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (18:16):
Do you guys get the sense they're just trying to
get through this year. They they know ultimately their faith,
their their faith is going to be one or two things.
Either they're gonna win.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
With Rogers or it's not going to work out and
the whole thing gets blown up. Is that is that
fair to say? Yes?

Speaker 4 (18:31):
Okay, then, but this is my big issue with their
thinking is that they don't want to set a precedent.
We've talked about this before, Like their thing is, well,
we have other players in the building. We don't want
to set a precedent that we're going to do contracts
with guys who don't show up to work. It's like, okay, well,
what about the fact that if you know he doesn't
show up to work, your team's not as good. And

(18:53):
if your team's not as good and not good enough
to make the playoffs this year, everybody's gone. So why
would you not look past whatever this roadblock is that
you have this invisible and make believe precedent that you've said,
and realize if they don't produce, Douglas is gone, Rogers
is gone, Salah's gone. Who cares unless Woody Johnson is

(19:15):
directing him to not operate under anything other than don't
negotiate with the guys who aren't in the building. What
does it matter whether or not you set a precedent now,
as long as you guys are maintained and you keep
your jobs for next year because you had a good season.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Listen, listen to what you are saying. Listen listen to
what we're saying, and what has been said. Let me
ask you guys, this, has there been a storyline of
not I guess a lack of continuity or a lack
of high um I guess high accomplishment or or whatever

(19:53):
it may be.

Speaker 5 (19:54):
I don't know what that is.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
I'm here, little faith. What do you mean?

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Oh? Is that what it was? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Show us No, I wasn't playing that controls.

Speaker 5 (20:06):
That's weird, j Ray, Ray, what do you mean? Okay?

Speaker 1 (20:11):
All I'm saying is have we had any conversations about
the New York Jets where there was not any drama
connected to it?

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Like?

Speaker 1 (20:19):
How many have we had like in comparison to drama?

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Are you asking this because this is feeding into your
theory they will not be good this year.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
It's feeding into my theory that they will not be
good this year.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Wait for this season, man, I can't wait to see.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
I just have never heard have you ever heard in
your time? I'm trying to think. I feel like that
always has drum Dallas popped into my head, Dallas pot
the White House and all that stuff, like when they
were they had the three headed minds, but the drama.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
But they don't win?

Speaker 4 (20:53):
What was the White House?

Speaker 1 (20:54):
But they don't they don't win.

Speaker 4 (20:56):
What do you mean by win at all? What do
you mean by White House?

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Well, you know what I meant by the White House,
like all the girls that were in there.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
No, I don't know. It was more so about drugs. Actually,
I think I was just being funny.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Either way, I figured I figured out just deliver girls.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
I figured out, oh there's one of those on top.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Brady, did you say snow buddies?

Speaker 1 (21:19):
What did you say and say that, I did say
snow bunnies.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
I thought I heard snow bunnies.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Yeah, no, but that's what they were saying was up
in there. Snow bunnies is the reason why I got
labeled the White House. Damn it was snowing buns in there. Yeah,
magical bunnies is what they were referenced. As I was,
I would say, that's maybe the one team that you
can look at and see. But I don't even think

(21:45):
that they were disfunctional as an organization. They were just
you know, they was getting it in a few of
the guys was just partying really hard. I've never The
point I'm making is I've never heard of an organization
that's a this functional organization and how things are done,
and at every turn there's some type of confusion or

(22:07):
something going on that that team wins. I've never heard
of it, no matter how much talent they've had or
how good they are, And dysfunction doesn't get turned around.

Speaker 5 (22:19):
This quickly.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
You're not going to write the dysfunction quickly enough for
your team to have success.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
You know.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
Since rama topic, which team in the NFL would you
say has the least drama? A good question because I'm like.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
What teams do we not talk about at all? What
teams don't get brought up? Well, I feel like, I
mean Kansas City doesn't. I mean outside of maybe like
one one player here and there that does something, there
are dramas like Travis Kelcey and Taylor Swift, which is
not that's not you know, that's not organizational drama New Orleans.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
I mean after a bound Gate squeaky clean operation, talk
about him.

Speaker 5 (23:03):
We don't talk about him.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
I mean some of it may have to do with relevance,
I guess, but the drop like Aaron Rodgers is in
the media all the time. He said something, it's going viral.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
He's there.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Whatever, Robert Salah has something to say, it's it's being
talked about. Hassan Reddick has become a household name off
of this, Nobody really knew who Hassan Redick was. Now
we know who Hassan Redick is.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
What do you mean a good year?

Speaker 1 (23:33):
He had a good year. He's had some good years,
good years, he said. But people he wasn't a household name.
Now people know who Son Redick is. The New York Jets.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
Yeah, I think he won a super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Okay, I think he wants I think he won a
super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
Good player Okay, I mean, are you saying the Jets
I'm saying he's not a good player. Are you saying
the Jets have poisoned the reputation of Asan Redick? Is
that what you're saying.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
I'm not saying that at all.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
I'm saying that he's in the and his his name
is constantly circulating around because of his situation that's playing
out with the New York Jets.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
I mean, look, you know, I don't I don't think
he's unknown though. I mean he's been the Pro Bowl
last two years.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
I don't care he's not He's not a household.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Although I would say this if I were to ask
you guys, Hey, can you name which franchise in the
NFL had a quarterback where panteose and a coach with
a foot fetish. There's only one answer, and that's the
New York Jets. So to your point, there is some
drama and some stuff that always seems to reside with
the Jets always.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
I just don't see them. I just don't see how
you can have success this way. I just don't see how.
And maybe I can be proven wrong. I'm not the
authority on if you're going to have success or not.
I just know in my time, I don't. You don't
see this type of dysfunction play out as much as

(25:03):
it does with an organization and they win. It's hard
enough to win. You have all the talent in the world,
but it's still hard to win even with all the
talent that you have, right, I just I don't see
when you have all these distractions a team being able
to focus in on what they need to do to

(25:23):
have a successful year.

Speaker 6 (25:26):
It does blow my mind that hate traded for him,
and I don't care what he said. I don't care
if he said he'd play out the cod whatever his
agent said. He said it's crazy that the team didn't
think this was a possibility. I mean, with every decision
you make of this magnitude, when you're bringing in a

(25:48):
player like that, I mean, you have to be.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Figuring to yourself. First off, why does Philly not want them? Right? Like,
did that ever dawn on Joe Douglas or the New
York Jets?

Speaker 6 (26:00):
Why are they willing to trade away Hassan Redick given
the production that he's had, given the fact that.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
He's been a Pro Bowl on Like, is there not
something more there?

Speaker 4 (26:09):
Yeah? Like if Howie Roseman's on the other end of
the phone, don't you have to take a second look.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
That's fine, But that's fine.

Speaker 6 (26:15):
But let's just think logically, why would a team want
to get rid of a guy who's been a two
time Pro bowler who's been really helpful.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
On your roster?

Speaker 6 (26:24):
Right, Like you have to ask yourself that question and
then go, huh, did they know something we don't know?
Like maybe he does want a new contract, Maybe maybe
it's something else going on. There's a Jets team that
traded for him, and it gave up a young pass
rusher that the Eagles found value in. I mean, would
she be like thinking to yourself, so, what do you
guys want to return? Oh, you guys want Bryce off?

Speaker 1 (26:46):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (26:46):
Okay, that's odd, younger one like you're they're either telling
you there's something going on here, either his contract, health wise,
his age, attitude, something, and yet they're willing to replace
some of the younger guys, not his but maybe it
has a lot of upside.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Doesn't that strike you as odd?

Speaker 6 (27:05):
I just it boggles my mind how Joe Douglas could
make that decision and then not think that there wasn't
gonna be something on the other side of this trade,
whether it's a contract extension, maybe something with an injury
or the physical they find out that they weren't aware of,
which I mean technically would make the trade and all
if they wanted to. But it just it doesn't make

(27:25):
any sense how they wouldn't have seen this coming and
then wanted to address it right away. So we're not
having a conversation about this as we head into Week
one of the NFL season.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
That's the bigger point, maybe the biggest point of it all.
You have all this on the line, Joe Douglas, Robert Salah, hell,
even the ownership Woody Johnson, y'all have so much at
stake as it applies to the reputation. If this doesn't
work this year, what would ever give you the inclination

(28:00):
that this franchise can put together a team that can win.

Speaker 5 (28:05):
If they don't win next.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Year, do you think they should just have what he
to sell a team? Then?

Speaker 1 (28:12):
I mean, it wouldn't be the first time that that
would be my conclusion. It wouldn't be the first time.
There are just some people that should not be running
a sports franchise. I'm sorry I fall into that category.
He would never need to run a franchise. He would

(28:36):
not need to run a franchise, not a successful one.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
Yea.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
He stepped away from it, exactly exactly. That's the point.
That's the point that I'm making. That's the point that
I'm making. All I'm saying is to answer your question.
You the fans in the city, that the people that

(29:04):
support the franchise, give them the opportunity to have success,
give them the opportunity to be happy about where they like.
I'll say this, things have changed. So maybe business is
business it used to be like for me, I'm saying,
I'm saying it like this, right I'm from Pittsburgh. Generally

(29:24):
the old days, you're from Ohio, you're and your team
was the Cleveland Browns. My team was the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Now Jonas doesn't fall into this category because you're not
like traditional, like you like a team that's from not
where you're from, but mean historical.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
Mom Illinois is not near Chicago.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
Historically speaking, where you're from is the team you cheered for.
Like if you come to Pittsburgh and we whoop your ass,
that meant that I'm looking at the city that we beat,
and it's like, that's what we would do to you
as a city.

Speaker 5 (30:02):
Rights, that's what.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
We represent, Like our team, our team was an extension
of us. That's where to me, that's where fandom comes from.
You want to know where I go nuts over if
we have a big hit or if we have Jerome
Bettist plowing through people and stuff, because that represents me
when I walk around, I'm a stealer.

Speaker 4 (30:26):
I'm a fan.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
That represents my mentality. It turned into the way I
played the game. It actually ultimately produces what you are.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
To me, It's like that's being a fan.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
So if you ask me, should have should a owner?
That doesn't embrace what the city represents. I don't even
know really what the like if you look at their
fan base, do we even know what their fan base represents?
And I'm sure the Jets fans would say yes. And
if the Jets fans that are saying yes to the

(31:02):
question of what do you represent, what is the identity
of your fan base? You should ultimately be able to
look at your team and say you are an extension
of your fan base and they are an extension of you.
And if you don't have ownership group that actually can
embrace that and can bring a value to that and

(31:24):
protect that and represent that in the ultimate team sport,
let that team go, man and find somebody who, at
least I don't care if you're from there, find somebody
who has the business acumen to be able to own
the team and put the people in the proper positions
that understand, we have to put a product in front

(31:45):
of our extension of us that represents them so that
our business will flourish. Because our captive audience are our fans.
We grow our community through wins, through representing the interest
of what our our fans interest are.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
We align that way.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
I feel like that gets lost a lot of times,
and it's decentralized in a lot of ways, but that's
what it should be. I don't feel like that's what
some of these teams represent.

Speaker 6 (32:18):
Yeah, it's well said, and I think we've come to
two conclusions. One LeVar believes what he Johnson should sell
the team, get rid of them. Two lead to Lap
shouldn't run the team.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
That's well, yes, yes, that's yes.

Speaker 5 (32:33):
I agree with that. I support that.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
Would you want would you want Lee to run the
company you work for? Q?

Speaker 6 (32:42):
I mean, I think if if there's a lot of
drama on Chaos, it'd be interesting to see if you
throw a lead into the mix, if that helps or
hurts it.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
That's what I'd be curious to see. Oh boy, Yeah,
that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (32:59):
It's like maybe it's one of those things where like
you throw Lee in the mix and it seems like
it could be more chaotic, but maybe he calms it down.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
You could fix the New York Jets. Lee could.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
I don't think it would make it worse.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
Get him a white Russian and uh that tells me
walk around there.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
The fact that lead to Lap just said on national
radio that I don't think I could make it any worse.
Tells you everything that you need to know. Oh man,
good luck New York Jets.

Speaker 5 (33:31):
Good luck.

Speaker 4 (33:32):
You know what's great about this show? Like if you
cannot handle it, stay as far away from this crew
as possible. You are gonna get it. Everybody's gonna get
it at one point or another here on this show.
There's a rough crowd. Man by the way. Also, if
you want to add a little drama to the story,

(33:53):
maybe Whatody Johnson just sell the team to Fauci. Just
see how that works out. For everything you think Rogers
will stick around. If that's the.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Case, does Spouch you have enough money to buy it?

Speaker 4 (34:02):
I mean, you know, go through his resume apparently. So

Time to put your money where your mouth is.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
I have been losing only a line in low life game.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
Genuine it's over under.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
I leave the lap.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
What do we got?

Speaker 7 (35:14):
Okay, guys, we have a four year slate of college
football games. How about this Clemson at Georgia line in
the game forty eight and a half over under time under.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
I'm gonna say under. Yeah, I think it'll be a
defensive battle.

Speaker 5 (35:30):
I'm gonna take the over.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
Damn, what's it at forty and a half?

Speaker 7 (35:35):
Forty eight and a half.

Speaker 5 (35:36):
That used to be a juggernaut. That used to be
all that's love.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
It used to be a juggernaut of a match before.
It doesn't hit the same when you say it anymore.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
I'll take the end.

Speaker 6 (35:49):
George is a twelve and a half point favorite, right,
that's that's a lot, that's right, a lot.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Goodly.

Speaker 7 (35:58):
How about this Notre Dame at Texas A and m
number of turnovers by Notre Dame in this game one
and a half over.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
Odd, take one and a half, one and a half odd.
I'm gonna take the over. Not because they're bad. I'm
gonna take the over because I think it's going to
obviously be a tough game and they're going to take
some chances and turnovers half and sometime. I'm gonna take
the over.

Speaker 4 (36:24):
It's really negative thinking there by lead.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
I'm sorry about that.

Speaker 5 (36:27):
He's yeah, and he did put it on Notre Dame.
He could have put it on the other team.

Speaker 4 (36:31):
Yeah, that's my fault. I'm sorry to put on anyone else.

Speaker 5 (36:34):
Yeah, you could have put it on anyone else.

Speaker 7 (36:36):
I'll try to turn around USC versus LSU in Vegas.
Largest lead by LSU seven and a half over.

Speaker 5 (36:44):
I'm gonna take the over on that one.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
I'm gonna take the over as well.

Speaker 7 (36:49):
Over over over head and state at West Virginia interceptions
thrown by Drew Allery at a half over.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Oh, I'm gonna use the same logic that I use
with Notre Dame. I'm gonna take the over on that.
No faith in your guy, It's not about not having faith.
It's just like you take chances sometimes and a turnover.

Speaker 7 (37:11):
Tonac whyn Top twenty five upsets this weekend two and
a half Top twenty five ups I'm.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
Gonna take the under.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
I'll take the under too under under under under
