the way tire buying should be. We got a lot
to get to. We're gonna lead off with, well, that
Thursday night game, see what the fellas think about it.
Obviously to a tongue veloa, he suffered his third known
(01:32):
concussion is a big one. We'll hear from Coach Pears
about what he thinks about it. And we got a
whole lot of other things to get to that happened
during the week of sports that now we get an
opportunity to go over ourselves on this weekend. What's up, fellas,
how y'all feeling, man, Let's you know, let's make sure
everybody is always to check.
Speaker 5 (01:52):
In before we go ahead and put them up on game.
How's everybody feeling?
Speaker 6 (01:56):
You know, we're feeling good, Leo. I'm feeling I'm feeling
really good.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
I can finally watch the channels that I haven'ten missing
for a.
Speaker 6 (02:04):
Couple of weeks, so I'm happy about that.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
I do need a little rEFInd on my monthly fee.
We don't have clear skies just yet this morning. I
mean we had what it's been one hundred degrees for
like the last three four weeks.
Speaker 6 (02:22):
Fires Man, Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:24):
Man, that's wild one.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, full out here man on these coach Man this
is supposed to be reaching ninety degrees a day and tomorrow. Wow, great,
great weekend in the fields like the middle of the summer.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
Enjoy that, y'all. Man, it's coming for that page gonna
turn real quick. It's coming for you. Yeah, it is
no doubt, man.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
But yeah, kids had a good game last night, Paul
Catholic that they want to get up. I believe the
score was thirty six fourteen. Young man, y'all throwing the
ball more two catches. Yeah, we're throwing a little more.
But man, listen, you got double coupled last night, double
and triple man and we had to run the football
and man, that's what they.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
Hey, you know what's crazy. When that starts to happen,
you hate it, But as a parent, because you know
the game, you smile and say, right, my boy, getting
that respect already.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
It's just something that you're going to have to be
able to combat mentally, you know what I mean, one
mental standpoint and just you just keep playing, man, that's
all you can do.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
Coaches start putting them in motion, put him in a
slot that them defenses in high school, somebody gonna get
confused and mess something up.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Unless they're on my defense, not your defense, and not
the one I was watching last night.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
Shouts out to him.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
They did play pretty good, but man, there were a
few adjustments, you know, a couple shifting like they don't.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
They roll the coverage over to Elijah.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
They run away from man, they do everything away from him.
They check away from it every time. And if you
ain't gonna pull him up off the ball, and you're
just gonna leave him on on the ball, you know. Anyway, Uh,
it wasn't a great, great, great showing, but you know,
they still nonetheless could have won the game. And speaking
of a not a great showing, but could have won
(04:16):
the game possibly maybe, I don't know. Still looks like
Josh Allen and the Bills own their AFC part of
the conference and went to South Beach and came home
with some salsa dancing and dancers and some DJs. They
(04:37):
just they took it over and they went in there
and and showed why the Bills are still the crust
of that part of the division. What was y'all's guys
take away from it? Because I thought that was one
of the more intriguing early matchups. I thought, if you
were going to have a Thursday night game, have a
juggernaut game that seemed like it had all the makings
of being that. What was y'alls take away from it?
Speaker 4 (05:00):
I'll be honest, I was somewhat surprised by the outcome
of the game, considering when you look at the skilled
players of the Buffalo Bills and the secondary of the
Miami Dolphins. By far and away, we'd say the Dolphins
the secondary would have no problem guard those receivers, those backs,
(05:22):
those tight ends, things of that nature. You knew Buffalo
was going to have to be run heavy, that they
were that in Week one, and that was their only
chance to win, and they ran the ball fairly effectively
against the Dolphins when you know that's what they're going
to try to do, like Josh shining through. I believe
(05:42):
it was one hundred and thirty nine yards and you
lose a game. Yeah too, It had the picks, but
it's something that the Bills do defensively that gives Mike
McDaniels in that Dolphins offense problems.
Speaker 6 (05:57):
So that part of it it shocked me. Considering.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
I felt like, do y'all think it's a mental thing,
because sometimes you can lose to a team and it
could become mental.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
Nah kind of expect to lose to.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Them for us with Dallas and with Philly for.
Speaker 6 (06:13):
A little bit, Sean McDermott.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
He must really understand how to attack McDaniel's protections. He
has an understanding of what they try to do offensively
against him and McDaniels into it. They just haven't adjusted
to it fast enough. It has to be because maybe
Dolphins on paper have the better team, They have the
better players, and so for them to lose that way
(06:39):
into it, that is not a mistake prone quarterback to
have three interceptions that surprised me.
Speaker 6 (06:48):
M I mean, look, I gotta agree with you, man.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
I think I was definitely surprised because you know, you
look at this Dolphins roster and I've come on here
and said it several times that Miami Dolphins have the
most explosive offense in all of football. But it takes
me back to what Sam Madison, you know, told me
about this this ribber between the Dolphins and the Bills.
(07:13):
When the when the schedule comes out, the first thing
that the Miami Dolphins look at is when when.
Speaker 6 (07:20):
Are we playing in Buffalo? Man, That's what they look at.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
So they get them the first game of the season
and they don't go out and get the job done.
And for for the for the Miami Dolphins, it's been
the Achilles heels for them for the last fifteen ten
fifteen years. It comes down to physicality. They just can't
not stop the run. If somebody wants to beat the
(07:48):
Miami Dolphins up from a from a from a physical standpoint,
they don't have an answer. And I think that's gonna
be the thing moving forward with Mike Mike McDaniels and
this football team. You know, you have the offense. Man,
now you might not even have a quarterback, and we
don't even know how that situation is going to work out.
Speaker 6 (08:09):
But you have to.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Win games, especially in division, in this division, when you're
the best team on paper. From a man from a
physical standpoint, the Miami Dolphins, man, they just got to
find a way to be physical, being able to stop
to run. Because you're looking at this game they played
the Bills and November thirteen, November third, it's gonna be cold,
(08:32):
and I don't trust the Miami Dolphins going in any
stadium in any inclined weather based off of what I
saw in that can see the game moving forward, So
they need to win as many games as they possibly
can't right now, especially in the division and where games
where the weather's not a factor.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Somebody sending y'all text message, and that text message would
probably read the same way that my text message to
y'all would be, the Bills are the Bills.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
Right now, and Miami is what Miami is right now.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
I told y'all the other week when the whole conversation
came out about to a shooting shade at at Brian
floor As, that this team isn't much different than the
team that Brian floor As was coaching.
Speaker 5 (09:18):
Sure they've added a lot of.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Talent since since his departure, and sure Tua has played
better since his departure, but they have not accomplished more.
They made the playoffs, but they made the playoffs with
the same record that they got with Brian floor As.
So make that work that one out, however you want
to work that out. The Miami Dolphins, much like the
New York Jets. People ask me my predictions. I gave
(09:42):
them my predictions. I told them I wouldn't be this
game that they're going to play this week against the Titans,
is more important if you're watching what you think about
the Miami Dolphins or excuse me, excuse me, excuse me,
excuse me. That's the Jets I'm talking about. They're playing
Tennessee and this because I did not expect Yeah, because
I didn't expect them to beat the forty nine ers either,
(10:05):
but in the same game, the same game against the Bills.
I felt like, until the Miami Dolphins proved that they
are a different team than what they have been, there's
no reason to think because of all of the feel
good stories going into this tool getting his contract or
Mike McDaniel, you know, feeling more confident and dressing differently.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
They were highlighting those things this year.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
What he looked like when he first came in to
what he looks like now, it is very, very different.
Speaker 5 (10:32):
It's kind of interesting.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
He went from being like almost like one of them,
like small town nerve boys, to now he looks like
the dude that be going to the nightclub and got
one of the girls around straight, looking like a straight
Tigelow or you know what I mean, but whatever, I
just you know, I think that this Miami Dolphins team
has got to focus in obviously well We'll get to
(10:55):
the Tyreek Hill conversation as well, because that happened and
happen and you know obviously last week, but we weren't
on to talk.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
About so we'll get to that as well.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
But I think there was a little confusion, you know,
that that led up to what we did talk about.
But there was a lot of confusion that led up
to this week's game.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
It was a short week.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
And I feel like if there was going to be
a time for Miami to make a statement, it would
be at home on a short week, coming off of
the emotional high of winning a game first and then
having the opportunity to play against the Buffalo Bills, which
everybody knows. If you wanted to be taken more seriously
as a team, you needed to beat the Buffalo Bills
(11:40):
in this game.
Speaker 5 (11:40):
Now, it's early, the year is early. I get it,
But to.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Me, if you want to really, really really make a
statement as a team, you got to go out there
and you got to get those games like that, because
otherwise all you're saying is, Okay, this is a team
not on pace all more. You think it, well, without Tua,
it's definitely going season over. It's gonna wrap it up.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
It's going over third game of the season. You already
know your season over.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
And that was not a good look, man, and I
got some questions on the whole two A front.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
So let's do this.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Let's take a quick break because obviously the conversation lines
between us, the communication lines are wide open, and there's
some passion behind it. So let's keep the conversation going
because this is one of those touchy conversations where it's
an uncomfortable one. A coach that we're all close with
had something to say. He chimed in on to and
(12:35):
what he feels like his career path should be. So
you're listening two pros. You're listening to up on game.
It is three pros. Actually, that ain't two pros. You're
listening to up on game man type of Terrek. You're
listening up on game. It's plexa co stjm LeVar. Yep,
I got that part right. All right, We're gonna take
a quick break. We'll be right back. Fox Sports Radio.

from sports entertainment like Sean McVay, Lindsey Vaughn, Michael phelf,
David Spade, got Fiemi, and also those who can help
us in between the ears, anyone from a therapist to
someone like Edmilett or John Gordon. We've all been through
(13:33):
some sort of adversity to get to the top.
Speaker 6 (13:35):
We've all used different tools.
Speaker 7 (13:37):
Listen to Unbreakable with Jay Glazer and Mental Wealth podcast
on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get podcasts.
Speaker 5 (13:47):
All right, all right, welcome back in What's up on Gang?
Speaker 3 (13:54):
That's right, and this is the Tirack dot Com studio st. J.
Hitchman's Plexico Burst. We got a lot of things to
get to, but let's continue the conversation coming out of
the Bills Miami game. Obviously, to a tongue of Alwa
suffered a serious concussion once again in the game, and
(14:17):
it has now created a ton of conversations surrounding what
the QB's future looks like. Here's what Las Vegas Raiders
coach Antonio Peers had to say when he weighed in on.
Speaker 8 (14:30):
It, I'll be honest, I'll just sudden retire. It's not
worth it, It's not worth to play the game. I
haven't witnessed anything like I've seen that's happened to him
three times.
Speaker 6 (14:42):
Scary.
Speaker 8 (14:42):
You can see right away the players faces on the field.
You can see the since urgency from everybody to get
to a help. I just think at some point, you know,
he's don't live longer and he's gonna play football.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
Take care of your family.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
Uh, we all know Ap, and we all know he's
a player's coach because well he once was a player
and not too long ago.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
Fellas. This is one of those tough ones.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
We come from an era where guys got concussions all
the time and it wasn't really discussed, It wasn't really
talked about. A lot of people just claimed it was
something that you know, we didn't really know about and
couldn't you know, measure it or weigh it or quantify it,
you know, as it applied to benefits or whatever.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
It may be.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
And now we're in a day and age where concussions
has basically not only villainized the game, it's demonized the game,
and it's made it a conversation where moms don't want
their kids playing football. Dads, even guys that have played
this game once before speak very adamantly about how they
(15:47):
don't want their kids playing football at all, or don't
want them playing at the youth level. It's just created
so many conversations now that you pay attention to the concussions,
there are certain ones that stand out, and you got
to say the ones that, to a tongue of Aloa
have gotten they stand out because it's it's almost like
you watch a guy in the ring get knocked out right,
(16:10):
his concussions aren't. He's on the ground, took a knee.
Then they help him up, he walks off the field.
They're like, what is it. Oh, he hit his head,
it's a concussion. Oh he guy hit in the head.
It's a concussion. No, these episodes or or these these
aftermaths of him getting hit are very disturbing.
Speaker 5 (16:27):
It's very disturbing. I'm a vow.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
When I played ball, I was a violent football player
and I like to see people get knocked out because
that's what I was trying to do. But fellas, I
gotta be honest with you, even as someone who liked
and enjoyed knocking dudes out, admittedly looking at it as
a civilian, looking at it as as a dad, it's
(16:50):
disturbing and it's not a good look. It's not a
good look for the National Football League. It's not a
good look for football, and it makes me wonder. I
asked Jonas and Brady during the week this question is
this is a situation where you almost as the shield.
You got to take some type of proactive action because
(17:12):
you don't want to see your product and your brand
take a serious head based upon how that looks. The
optics of what happened to Tua? What what?
Speaker 6 (17:23):
What was your guys take on What can you do
about that?
Speaker 5 (17:26):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
If you go back to the play, it's not even
a violent, you know hit. Damar Hamlet comes in and
basically tackles him with his shoulder and his head gets
bent you know, sideways or whatever which way it went.
But it wasn't like it was one of these hits
where oh he's knocked out.
Speaker 6 (17:48):
It was a it was a just a good tackle.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
It wasn't even like it was a a gregious hit
or a foul and anything like that.
Speaker 6 (17:58):
So, uh, when I hear a.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Talk and behind that podium, people forget that AP had
a neck injury back in two thousand and nine and
he was having some neck pain. He was like, do
I don't know what's wrong. So he got an MRI
and he found out that he had a bulging disk
in his neck. And I remember him, me and him
having this conversation and the doctor basically came to him
(18:24):
and said, man, listen, if you can play football, but
there's a possibility if you won't walk again.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
He was like, man, I'm out peace.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Football is not that important to me from a health
standpoint if I'm risking being able to walk for the
rest of my life. So when when he's talking about
this tour situation, I mean, what do you do if
you might McDaniel in this organization? What are you willing
(18:55):
to risk to keep putting this man on a football
field Because he's not gonna he's not gonna walk away,
well step away from the game, So how do you
protect him moving forward? And they're in a bad situation
because he just got a brand new contract.
Speaker 6 (19:12):
I don't know what they're going to do.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
They're still on what one hundred and sixty seven million
dollars moving forward from a guaranteed money standpoint, But from
the player and the coach and the owners of the
of this organization, what do you do to protect this
man moving forward?
Speaker 6 (19:31):
So I'm gonna give you, guys, what.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
I would do if it was me, what I would
do with the advice I would give if it was
my son. So, first off, when LeVar says the league
should step in. If the league steps in, listen to this, guys,
Listen to what I'm about to say. His one hundred
and sixty seven million pleas, that's if they deem him
(19:56):
unfit to play, those are injury guarantee. He's that one
hundred and sixty seven million. So let's just say the
league says he can't play anymore, that's an injury guarantee.
The Dolphins will have to pay him one hundred and
sixty seven million dollars. You all three of us know
he's getting cleared to play, because if he doesn't get
(20:18):
cleared to play, that's one hundred and sixty seven million dollars.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
And so I understand that, But how much are you
costing your game if your game takes a hit from
from break of oar.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
If the league steps in, they're saying, because of his injury,
he can't play. He's getting that hundred and sixty seven
million once he gets clear to play. Once he gets
cleared to play, he has to make a decision whether
or not he wants to play. If that is my son,
because Ah went through everything that Ah had to go through,
(21:00):
Hey boy, your daddy did all the all the legwork
to kind of get us where we are. You followed
in that path, it just wasn't meant to be. You
make good money, shut it down, go support your family.
You have enough money. If it's me one thousand percent.
First off, First off, let me say this man Prayer
(21:22):
is a tour. I hope he's okay. I've met too,
I've talked with Ta such a nice, genuine human being.
I hope him and his family they they are okay,
he's okay, and they get through this. Let me say
that first and foremost should have said that when I started.
But if it goes, that goes without saying. I think
if it's me, then that ain't my last snap. That's
(21:47):
not the last snap I play a football. Noah, Nah, Nah,
I'm getting hell now I'm playing again.
Speaker 6 (21:53):
That's me. That's me the era of football player. To you,
that's me, Like, ain't no way.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
But I will say this though, it is very concerning
because it's exactly what AP said, like I've never seen
a routine tackle turn into this, Like these are routine
tackles in essence, he hit like his bicep slash shoulder
pad routine in his body is like spazzing up.
Speaker 6 (22:26):
Bro.
Speaker 5 (22:26):
That's that's that's the.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
It's so scary and odd.
Speaker 5 (22:30):
But you can't shut him down. Show him that.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
If someone sat you down, TJ and showed you what
you're looking like on that.
Speaker 4 (22:40):
Fit, that's if that's TJ. Zero percent chance that that's
my last snap. I'm rolling till the wills fall off.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
I have that wills falling off.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
No, no, it ain't because I feel good today. I
feel good today. I'm just I'm just telling you that's
I feel And what I'm telling you I'm somebody that
need new tires.
Speaker 6 (23:04):
All the rubber off man got no money. That's what
I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Rollert, Guys, all the money you could talk as figuratively
as you want to talk. That man got more than
enough money to get some new tires and get some.
Speaker 5 (23:14):
New new root will a new car.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
It's it's not about this man, It's not about the money,
because TOA does have enough money at this point. Yes,
for me the game, I'm different than y'all, man, because
y'all play so much football growing up that maybe y'all
could walk away because you I didn't play a ton
of football growing up, Like I genuinely enjoy the game
(23:39):
with football, Like every game that's on TV I'm watching
like I enjoy football.
Speaker 6 (23:45):
I love the game. I'm for me.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
That he when I'm literally Will's fall off high speed
chase spiker strip tires falling off type like that's.
Speaker 5 (24:00):
Still going yeah see to me.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
But but I'm glad you had that that assessment of it,
because in the end, sometimes it should not be up
to us for what it's worth. I'm gonna just say
it for real, for real. Sometimes you're a man and
you are allowed to make your decisions. If something happened,
and here's what's crazy, right, if something like just say,
something happened within the parameters of with our family and
(24:25):
it was like, oh, we got to go getting we
mounted up, We're gonna go getting right and you sitting
there like we're gonna go getting We're gonna go get
this person.
Speaker 5 (24:32):
We're gonna go handle it. I am going to.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Tell you every single reason why we should do it differently.
I'm gonna give you every single reason. And then at
the end when I give you every single reason, when
you say we're still going to get him, you know
what I'm gonna say, tj oh, Absolutely we rocking like
I got the car, like, come on right, so.
Speaker 6 (24:58):
Dull.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
So the problem what that is, the problem with that
is that don't make it right.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
That don't make it right because right for me.
Speaker 5 (25:08):
Yeah, but it's gonna cost you. And at the end
of the day, I'm willing to take that chance, though,
but it might.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
Cost everybody around you. Now now you now you what
one two three years removed from playing the game and
you can't even remember who.
Speaker 6 (25:23):
Your kid is.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Or I'm willing to walk through the jungle with pork
shop draws on, man, I'm willing to do it.
Speaker 6 (25:29):
I'm willing to take that chance.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
Somebody pork chop draws, don't look right, take the litches off,
and sit your ass down right here on this couch
and talk about what you could have would have should
have been because you know what you you'll have a
good career. You had a dope career, but I bet you,
I guarantee you. I time your surround being like, man,
I could have had a better one, Man, I could
have did more. I could have did this differently. It
(25:50):
doesn't matter how well your career goes. When you're a competitor,
you could have always done more. So at the end
of the day, what's it worth? What's it worth to
put your own health? Like long term, like forget forget
about Like yes, okay.
Speaker 6 (26:05):
We know that though levarn, we know, we know, we know.
That's what.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
We know these game years that it may be bad.
But I'm willing to take that risk. I would be.
I would not want my son to take that risk
because I walked. I walked a path so vicious that
he didn't have to. And that's what we do for
our children. For me, y'all willing to walk it again.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Y'all see the way I walk around, y'all see the
way I walk around? So you preaching to the choir
on that one. My back has been gone for maybe
ten years gone.
Speaker 4 (26:44):
You do walk around like you're old or crazy, right,
But you played around LaVar, you was crazy when you played, Bro.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
I could have walked away crazy.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
I could have probably should have needed to either ad
just the way I played or walk away from the
game at some point in time. I've had more. I've
had about three four serious concussions when I played.
Speaker 6 (27:05):
I had.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
I had some serious back in knee injuries, blew my
achilles out when I was with with Plex in New York,
and I would have still kept playing.
Speaker 6 (27:14):
Okay, Have you.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
Guys ever had a concussion though where you were not
And That's where I'm going with this.
Speaker 6 (27:19):
Have you ever had that cut? Yes, not that cold
like night night box sleep.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
I hit I hit Brian Brian Mitchell on a kickoff
and I don't even know how long I was out.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
For TJ on YouTube, go pull it up. Mine's is
on YouTube.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
The crazy thing about it, concussion is you don't remember
so that I was not Dad.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
I didn't even hear me.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
That tell me that is not crazy, Bro.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
It's like it's like you don't skip any time. It's
like when I came back to myself, it was like
not like like I'm going back in and they like
you going back in. I might be one of the
dudes that they they that came up with them taking helmets.
Because I out my helmet, I went back on for
the for the field goal.
Speaker 5 (28:03):
We like three four series later, and.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
I'm thinking that, you know, they scored on us, and
I don't even know how I knew they scored on us,
but I grabbed my helmet and I went to go
get on.
Speaker 6 (28:13):
The field to So you still think you were real time.
Speaker 5 (28:18):
You think you're plex, you think you're real time.
Speaker 6 (28:21):
You don't recall.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
Hey, we were playing at the the they were the
San Diego Closers at the time, and I had an
over route. Marlon McCree hit me early passing appearance. My
helmet flew off. A defender that was chasing tried to
jump over me and he needed me in my head.
Speaker 6 (28:42):
Oh man, I was out cold.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
And the crazy thing is my helmet starts rolling and
why does it stop right next to my head as
if it was a pillow when.
Speaker 6 (28:53):
I came to.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
When I came to, I had no idea what happened,
So I'm like, where's my head helmet at It was
a shootout, bro, It was like thirty five, thirty thirty eight,
thirty five forty two thirty eight. We was just going
back and for I'm like, wait, where's my helmet?
Speaker 2 (29:09):
At?
Speaker 6 (29:09):
I need my helmet. They wouldn't give me my helmet.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
I went and took another receiver's helmet, like, hey, bro,
let me use your helmet. I'm going back in the game,
Like I wanted to play that bad and you don't
remember anything, and then gradually the plays start to kind
of come back. It was almost like your brain is redownloading.
It's really weird. But I was ready to go back
in the game. They wouldn't.
Speaker 6 (29:32):
I was. They said I was out for like three
and a half minutes.
Speaker 5 (29:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (29:35):
I played the next week and that was in the
second half.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
Let me add to that.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
I used to because I had got one before and
I knew the protocols. I used to drill myself before
the game. Your in FedEx Field. You'r LeVar Arrington. You
were born on this day. I played defense. I'm a linebacker.
I went to Penn State. Like, I used to drill
myself on all the protocol questions where they would try
to like follow the light, follow the light, come on
(30:02):
your eye, follow the light, followed out, bro. I came back.
I came back to myself. I was like, I'm good.
Speaker 5 (30:08):
I'm good.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
Like, what's what's the problem? Like I hit somebody, I'm good.
I'm not even knowing how much time I'd have missed,
but I'm good.
Speaker 5 (30:15):
Right.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
They're like, okay, well, who are you, LeVar Arrington. We're
at FedEx Field. It's it's it's uh.
Speaker 5 (30:20):
It's a new game. We're playing against such and such team.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
I went to Penn State. I'm from Pittsburgh. Like, I
started running it down. They was looking at me like
they started laughing.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
I was like, what why y'all laughing at me? I
need to get back in the game. What are you
laughing at? You asked me the question? They said, we
asked you what your name is? LeVar? We asked you
what your name is.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
I said, I know what questions you're going to ask me.
I'm just answering. I know what you're going to ask me.
They're like, dude, like all right, look at it. They
started putting up and let me tell you something. One
time I did it. One time, tim Biakaba could eat
me in the head. Tim Bokabauka needs me. They take
me back. They asked me all the questions. I knew
the questions. They put me back in the game. I
ended up getting an interception that helped turn around the game.
(31:03):
We end up winning the game, right, So I mean,
it's a it's a tough one, man.
Speaker 6 (31:09):
I had my first one at pas Stake.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
Remember that when Poo catch you, Derek Fox atch you?
Speaker 5 (31:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (31:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
I was on a shallow route and he hit me.
We both knocked out. He don't even come back in
the game. I gotta remember golf ball. He was told
me like in the side of my neck by the
size of a golf ball, and said, once I wake up,
said everyone come up with me and say, man, you
gotta get up. Man your mom here. I had to
(31:39):
get up and both of us laid out. Remember that.
Speaker 5 (31:42):
I do remember that. I do remember. I do remember.
You know who else? I remember? Isaac glowing crowd.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
He's gonna give us a little update what we got
going on in the world of sports, my guy.
Speaker 9 (31:51):
Well, we got an update on a flashback. We found it.
Let's take you back to Chargers Bengals one thousand and six.
Speaker 10 (32:01):
Listen, still just over nine and a half minutes to play.
Speaker 5 (32:04):
Carson Palmer back to the air Crow.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
Interference, You're called all the penalty of markers you can.
Speaker 10 (32:11):
Possibly get her.
Speaker 6 (32:12):
Well, that's not only interference.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
That's a horrendous cheap shot.
Speaker 10 (32:18):
Dan dared or sticking up for you there, tj O.
Speaker 5 (32:21):
My god, man, I.
Speaker 6 (32:22):
Was ready to fight Marlin with Korean offseason. Had I
seen it. I was like you, I see him in offseason.
I'm taking off phony.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
I promise don't love Marlo was aggressive.
Speaker 9 (32:34):
Dude, Hey, if that ever does happen, call me. I'll
be right at your side saying hold me back, hold
me back, you guys. Let's check out the college football
scoreboard and in Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, out
to a three to nothing lead over fourth ranked Alabama
with two twenty one left in the first quarter.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
Ten don't mess with that ten man. I know these
people gonna learn. Oh yeah, I'm no.
Speaker 9 (33:00):
And that's that's actually without their starting quarterback because Tyler
Van Dyke left the game with an injury. He was
driven to the locker room on a cart after sustaining
an apparent leg injury. So Braydon Locke is now in
at quarterback number thirteen.
Speaker 6 (33:13):
He just got stopped four and one.
Speaker 5 (33:15):
Yeah, they did.
Speaker 9 (33:16):
Did so, so it's a strong start for Wisconsin.
Speaker 5 (33:21):
Such a tat you excuse me?
Speaker 1 (33:23):
Hello?
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Can you report on the fact that DJ Hitchman's outa
is a hater?
Speaker 9 (33:27):
Well, he's having he's having some issues right now because
the Pac ten slash Pack twelve has this phenomenal record
twenty two.
Speaker 10 (33:36):
Three three and ozerainst the sec. But it's the difference anymore.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
Talk about it, Iloa, let them know, and we're gonna
win the Big ten. Somebody from the pack is gonna
win the Big ten, and somebody from the pack is
gonna win the Big twelve.
Speaker 5 (33:47):
Yeah, finish the report. Sorry, sir, please please.
Speaker 10 (33:50):
You should be saying sorry. TJ is Larry Scott. Anyway.
Number thirteen.
Speaker 6 (33:56):
Is Loo. You real good with this man? I like you.
Speaker 5 (34:00):
I mean he was in the pack.
Speaker 6 (34:02):
He was in the pack.
Speaker 10 (34:03):
Luxury sweet Larry as I call him.
Speaker 9 (34:05):
Anyway, Number thirteen, Oklaoba stay out to a seven to
nothing lead at Tulsa after one and then we have
number sixteen LSU trailing at South Carolina seven to nothing
with five to go on the first quarter.
Speaker 5 (34:18):
Here's how first to go for Carolina.
Speaker 11 (34:21):
Here's Sellers quarterback drawl right side at Clippy mcginny reaches
out touchdown Carolina touchdown Lenora Sellers from four yards out,
his second rushing touchdown of the season that won Hey
drive by Carolina.
Speaker 10 (34:38):
Yeah, I swear that's the same guy.
Speaker 9 (34:41):
The call on wk WKNT seventeenth ranke Michigan up seven
to nothing over Arkansas State early second quarter on a
thirty yard touchdown run by Kalel Mullings.
Speaker 10 (34:53):
Finally in the.
Speaker 9 (34:53):
NFL, this one's for you, Lebar, Thank you big. Article
today in the Washington Post detailing the new Washington Commander's
owner Josh Harris has had to fix way more infrastructure
issues at the team stadium and practice practice facility than
he even thought when he first bought the team, Things
like the hot tubs not working with the practice facility,
(35:16):
the dryer that they dry the equipment and uniforms not
working in the equipment room, and even them not having
a play clock on their practice field, meaning their quarterbacks
did not know how many seconds they had to practice
getting in and out of the huddle. Harris has credit
quickly had play clocks installed.
Speaker 10 (35:34):
Back to you guys.
Speaker 5 (35:35):
Good for you, mister Harris.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
Wow, you know, oh makes make sure their hot tubs
are working. That's wonderful. All right, hey, listen, this is

It is Plexico Burs, it is TJ. Hushman's out of
(36:22):
I am LeVar Arrington and this is Fox Sports Radio. Fellas,
I gotta ask about McCaffrey. Just I know, we got
a short segment. We only got a couple couple minutes left.
But McCaffrey is now looking as though he's going he
could possibly be placed on the IR. The forty nine
(36:43):
ers had a very nice showing against the Jets and well,
lo and behold during the course of that game. The
one thing that we saw take place in Denver with
Mike Shanahan we're now seeing with his son in San
Francisco is he can use pretty much any running back
(37:04):
he wants to use, and that person is going to
be able to have some success. Jordan Mason popped, popped
onto the scene, burst onto the scene, however you want
to call it. But now that is a name being
mentioned in terms of being able to carry the load.
That's obviously going to give Christian McCaffrey the ability to
(37:26):
recover as much as need be and even when he
gets back, maybe that's a whole new wrinkle. What was
your guys' takeaway on the reported reporting that he could
go on IR and does this impact the forty nine ers?
Speaker 4 (37:43):
Does it impact him When you look at the first game,
you say absolutely not, but I'm sure it is.
Speaker 6 (37:49):
It has to impact him.
Speaker 4 (37:50):
When you lose one of the better running backs, if
not the best running back in the league, it has
to have an impact on your team. And when you say, oh,
mccaffe may go on IR, that injury is a lot
worse than what they're making us to believe because you
don't go on and temporary IR. If you're questionable for
(38:12):
week one or questionable for week.
Speaker 6 (38:14):
Two, that injury is pretty serious. Of course it impacts him.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
Jordan Mason, he had a really good game, but you
saw more of Debo in the backfield and Deebo getting
carries than we usually had. When McCaffrey plays, Deebo doesn't
really get those carries as much as he used to
prior to McCaffrey becoming a forty nine er. And so
I believe McCaffrey not playing forces Shanahan to kind of
(38:40):
open his playbook and really get into it.
Speaker 6 (38:44):
But it's going to impact him.
Speaker 4 (38:45):
Anytime you lose a player of McCaffrey's stature, that impacts
your team. It doesn't matter what the guy that comes in,
It don't matter how he plays, because there's just certain
things that McCaffrey would do that other guys aren't capable
of doing.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
This is what's wrong with the running back position in
football games like this. You're talking about it guy Jordan Mason,
who nobody knew who this young man was before starting
on Monday Night football and he goes out and have
you know twenty eight Carris one hundred and forty seven
yards and if you're shutting the hand of your John,
let's you're sitting there looking up, look, looking looking at
(39:22):
this young man running football. And Christian Coffin's making twenty
million dollars a year. So listen, I think Jordan Mason's
going to get a lot.
Speaker 6 (39:32):
Of calls moving forward.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
I don't think he's going to be on the SANRANSI
for forty dollars too much longer.
Speaker 5 (39:38):
Yeah, well we'll see what happens.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
He got paid a lot of money, and well it
would be nice to see them kind of cash in
on that. So anyway, we got a whole lot more
sports to talk to. This is Fox Sports Radio is
up on Game Hour two. Coming at you next
