Speaker 4 (01:19):
That's right, baby, not universe.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Not not not college station or some of the things
that these people mistake us for. This is State College,
the heart of Pennsylvania. My guy, you are at the center,
the epicenter of Pennsylvania right now.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
My guys, and we got a Brandon T. Quinn in Orlando.
Were you able to dodge at hurricane or what?
Speaker 4 (01:44):
Brady?
Speaker 1 (01:45):
How are we looking?
Speaker 4 (01:47):
We're not well?
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Apparently not.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Maybe he's in the hurricane. Is he in the hurricane?
Speaker 1 (01:52):
What's the weather like there? What are we looking at here?
Speaker 5 (01:54):
So the weather actually is not as bad as one
would think. The weather has calmed down it at least
in the area that I am at, which is more
on the east side of Florida and making my way
up to Orlando due to a lot of the storm
surge that's impacting the west side of the state. But
there is some scary flood conditions going on.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
You ever thought about being a weather man? Bro?
Speaker 5 (02:16):
No, if you sound like what guy, especially for days
like today.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Man, it's.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
The Brady sounds like a weather man? Bro? Why not?
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Lee?
Speaker 1 (02:25):
By the way, wh wouldn't he hate weather man?
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Listen to Lee right now? Listen to Lee? Yeah, listen,
he's not getting weather man.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
This Lee to clap is a full blown five alarm machine.
That guy goes hard. G and ts be and t
he saw.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
But at least he's hydrating while he's dehydrating. Always say,
if you're going to be a dehydrator, make sure you're
hydrating while you're dehydrating. Now what people may wonder what
that means is like for me when I go out
like tomorrow, well today, actually I will drink today, I
will be drinking pedialytes like I'm gonna load up on
(03:21):
a pedia likee he you were mixing with gatorade. See
you're you're dehydrating, but you're rehydrating. You're rehydrating to dehydrate.
I mean, that's there. There has to be a method
to the madness to be able to function, you know
what I mean. That sounds gross, by the way, that
(03:44):
sounds disgusting. And it was a yellow Gatorade, Like you
gotta have one of them gatorade flavors that kind of mask.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
That seagrums just a little bit. But you went with
the yellow.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
That did not happen. But you can tell that this
place is gearing up for a big game this weekend.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Oh yeah, man, white out energy, you know, not not
the white out, but we're gonna need some white out
energy because as Q has mentioned Illinois pretty good man,
They're pretty they're they're pretty good.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
Son.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
Has there been any issues or any conversation around like
the energy there doesn't Brett beila must say, it's not.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
What the hell is? Yeah, what the hell is? What
he said?
Speaker 3 (04:27):
We don't know that we know that they will be
wearing white or blue or you know something. And then
this whole what calling for white out, white out energy,
whatever the hell that is?
Speaker 4 (04:38):
He got, He got everybody in the lather up here.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
I mean, listen, Brett Beilama is letting everybody know. He's
putting you on notice. Man, Illinois is not to be
reckoned with. They just went into Lincoln and what that ass.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
He's the one that came in and Lincoln whatever that too.
He's the one that beat us in that overtime.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
Gang.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
You remember we're the talk crazy about his old line?
Did he go crazy about the team, talk crazy about
everybody on his roster? Said Dane, as you know, we're
going to figure it out. Some of these people ain't
gonna be here.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
That was the game where they went to They couldn't
they couldn't break the tie, so they went from the
two yard line. They just started doing two point conversions.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
It was like nine overtimes.
Speaker 5 (05:21):
It's crazy started in triple overtime when I start doing that.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
But yeah, yeah it was. It was not great for
Penn State. It was not a great the vibe here,
people are fired up. We do want to thank Pat
and Mark who have been kind of helping us out
and hooking up with ye ye Mark with getting us
set up baby, you know, getting us uh miled in
on on the festivities here. We've got the show going
(05:44):
live here from the graduate in State College. Great place.
Every graduate we go to seems to outdo the last.
So this place is awesome. Great neighborhood. The people are
are buzzing. We went to a walk everywhere, Oh yeah,
which means you can stumble back. You know, we got
it's a beautiful thing.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
Lee.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
How many waters did I get last night at that
that little convenience store area?
Speaker 6 (06:08):
I tried to keep track at the convenience store specifically.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
I think it was six six, six thirty three ouncers.
I still one.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
I don't know if you noticed, or why is that
that you would get six thirty three ouncers?
Speaker 1 (06:21):
We just walked into a convenience It was literally a
convenience store with a full blown bar question.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
The bigger question is did you have a drink yesterday?
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Yeah? Of course?
Speaker 4 (06:29):
Did you really? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (06:31):
What did you drink? I mean we had an icy light?
Speaker 4 (06:34):
Did you really?
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Man?
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Who's we we are? Lee? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
I keep Jonas honest.
Speaker 6 (06:41):
You had an icy light yesterday? Come on, man, Okay,
I mean he did. Jonas didn't want to drink, but
I kept eyeing him drinks.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
So you went ahead and did it. Yeah?
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Why not?
Speaker 4 (06:50):
Are you going to drink today? Yeah? Are we on day? Drink?
Speaker 3 (06:53):
No?
Speaker 4 (06:54):
Probably not.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
I mean I don't know.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Listen, you gotta get your coffin time.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
I mean I gotta. I will say this. I've got
the room key and it is one of LeVar Arrington
here at State College Graduated's room key. So this is
pretty sweet. So you know, could you autograph this for me?
Make this happen?
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Or what? Right on your our?
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Damn? Uh? So we're we're getting ready for this big game?
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Now? How about the big game last night?
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yeah? The Cowboys?
Speaker 4 (07:24):
How about that was an amazing game?
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Can I be honest with you an offensive explosion? That
game really lacked a lot of energy and I don't
know if it was just us from traveling watching the game.
But I was watching that game last night, going there's
just like not a lot going on. Molik Neighbors and
Micah Parsons getting Daniel Jones.
Speaker 7 (07:45):
We did all right, He did all right, he was
he was dealing, but I just couldn't finish it off.
Much needed win for the Dallas Cowboys last night. Two
avoids three game losing streak.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Much needed cover for myself as well.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
By the way, oh yeah, so it was a Notre
Dame guy missing a field goal that gave you the winner?
Speaker 4 (08:04):
How about that?
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Good for you?
Speaker 4 (08:06):
Who wasn't miss him from like sixty out? So he
must have known.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
It, by the way, I get you.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
Did you talk to him? Did he know? Did he
miss it?
Speaker 1 (08:15):
Now?
Speaker 5 (08:15):
By the way, it wasn't him missing field goals that
gave me the cover. I would have needed him to
make the last field goal that would have helped actually
extend it. It was a four and a half point
spent when I got it. They won by five, so
I got the cover there. However, a twenty two point
fourth quarter from Army and Temple Army's backups letting the
(08:36):
Temple just go ahead and have a heyday there in
the fourth quarter, hit the over of forty six points
last night and the Army Temple battle in Philadelphia, so
we'll miss pointing there.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
We were eating last night here at the Trophy room
at the Graduate and Lee kept looking up the TV
making comments about the Army game. I was like, dude, like,
what do you care about the Army game? There's well
Quinn's wins, so I'm like, oh Jesus, okay, here there
you go, Like this is already taken over. So he's
got his priorities.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
Sailing up until the fourth quarter. No, then then it
just they let Temple go ahead and grab a couple
of quick touchdowns to unfortunately hit the over.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Yeah, I'll say this, that's thinks. LeVar was not lying
about the travel from the West coast to the East coast. Here.
It was literally an entire day. Takes a day, Like
we left the show at six am Pacific.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Time and got here at six pm Eastern time.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
What happened.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
It was dark outside when you got here, and it
was the startest flights up there.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
Fly with please, I'm not I'm not gonna fly with them.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
Yeah, it's probably smart, LeVar. They probably pick a terrible
option whatever they do.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
Yeah, and no, that's not why.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
I just couldn't get a seat that I needed on
their flight. Then, so I had to find the next
flight out or a flight that could get me in
here the way I needed to get in here. Q
you know, I'm old man, you know old bones. My
knees are bad, my back is bad. You know, if
I if I get caught up in the wrong situation,
(10:11):
I won't be able to straighten my body up. And
I can't be walking around State College looking like quasi moto,
you know what I mean, So please Yeah, but that's
the point though, I mean, I'm good because I had
a good seat, you.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
Know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
By the way, I bought a neck pillow at Marshall's
for nine dollars before.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
How'd you like it came in?
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Great, They're like forty at the airport, so I felt
like I saved money and I slept like three and
a half to four hours clean, So.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
You almost got through the whole flight then, Yeah, you
made your flight pretty quick.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Yeah, pretty sweet.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
So well, welcome man, Welcome to State College, guys, and
it's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
Lee was having some conversation with a guy that he's
never met before about a music fest arts fest?
Speaker 4 (10:56):
You mean arts fest or a music fast.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
I didn't know you were listening. Of course, it was listening.
Nobody else was talking except for you guys.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
Yeah. I was trying to keep it down. Huh.
Speaker 6 (11:06):
I hate that on an airplane when everyone's listening. Oh yeah,
I was whispering.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
He was yelling.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
Really yeah, okay.
Speaker 6 (11:16):
But yeah, he's going to a nice music festival. It
is out in Maryland on the beach. Oh nice, Dave
Matthews ban Oh nice.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
How many drinks did you have yesterday on the plane? Four?
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Once you got here, it's just all in total?
Speaker 4 (11:30):
Oh, in total.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
I lost your by the way, when you say four
drinks on the plane, what do you what do you
mean by four drinks?
Speaker 4 (11:37):
Well, four little mini bottles, so that wasn't that much.
Speaker 6 (11:40):
And then I had a well, I had a bloody
Mary at the airport before getting on the plane.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Of course it was a good bloody Mary.
Speaker 6 (11:45):
Thirty dollars bloody Mary, but it was good bloody Marry.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
You got the belly that can handle it. Thirty yeah,
twenty eight to fifty. You're a bloody Mary.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
You're an absorber huh you just absorb.
Speaker 6 (11:58):
I uh bring in mass, Yes, yes, all right, stayed mass.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
That junk was funny the way he was yesterday. When
when Lee gets to snorting when he left, you know
it's real.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
Oh yeah, that's a sign, that's it's real. So good
good for you, Lee. I'm glad.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Did y'all get LeVar Allen's just icy lights.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
Holding islands for today? We got to go to two
ten and get get out. So that's the originator. That's
the reason why I do it dead.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
We're going to go to ten all all day.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Then put on a show last night and that's uh,
that's putting it mildly.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
He was.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
He was really hitting it hard and like ice up.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
I'm here. Now.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
What was the special that Champs had they were doing?
Was it dirty Doll vodka?
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Ye?
Speaker 6 (12:48):
Dirty Stasic VC later which we got there right as
they were starting.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
She said, you want to wait three minutes? I said,
why don't you just bring me a beer.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
And as you're over, as you're.
Speaker 6 (13:01):
Putting my card, and then you can bring me a
vodka back.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
Got it tapped up and everything, and then check it out.
I'll take two more of.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Those, like literally, no regard for his own health, does
not care. I'm good for you. Yeah, he put on
a show. So that that is just night one of
what can be expected here in State College. And and
from what we've heard from Pat and Mark here, the
(13:34):
place is only going to get busier and busier. And
it's homecoming and then so it's got it's the white
out game. And now are they doing They were saying,
there's like the striped there's like the blue stripe on
the helmet for for the white out or how how
does it work? We always have a blue stripe on
our No, but there's like a special.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
In the in the stadium. Yeah, I'm not sure. Is
that what it is?
Speaker 1 (13:55):
I think? So that's what they were saying. Mark, is
that where you were saying, there's gonna be like so
it's a white.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Out energy, white out energy. It's not a white out.
White out is not this weekend. It's white out energy, okay,
meaning we need to bring white out energy to this yet.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
But it's homecoming weekend.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
And they want us to wear all white, so coach
Frank called for wearing all white. So it's they're bringing
back the ninety fourteen that you know. That's one of
one of the greatest teams to ever go on the
field for for Penn State. That's the team with Carry
Collins and Cale Brady and Key Johnnah Carter and all
those guys. You know, Marco Rivera, Jeff Harding's, Bobby Ingram,
(14:37):
you know, loaded team. Team was freaking phenomenal. Matt Millen,
but not Matt Millan, John Millan, excuse me, John Millon,
the fullback Whitman, John Whitman, Mike Archie.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
They were loaded. That team was loaded.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
Man. They went undefeated if you remember it. But Nebraska
not what not Nebraska? Somebody got it over us. Wasn't Nebraska.
Was Nebraska that got it. There you go. They felt
bad for tom Osboard. It was Tommy's turn. They wouldn't
undefeat it. And that was the team that had I
believe was that Lawrence Phillips was on that team. I
(15:14):
want maybe that's a in Miami and the like the
Orange out of fact.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Yeah that was Cory Schlessinger with.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
Tommy Fraser and all those guys. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
So, but it was one of the dopest teams. I
mean outside of like that what eighty eighty two, I
want to say the national championship team with you know,
Bob White and Shane Colin and all those guys. Just
one of the greatest football teams ever assembled in the
history of Penn State. So they'll all be back here
(15:46):
this this weekend. So that would be pretty cool to
see all those guys.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Well, it's pretty cool being here again. I cannot think
the Graduate and State College enough. Pat Mark everybody here, Bonnie.
They've been tremendous. So this is going to be a
fun show. We got Braden Quinn over in Orlando, we
got us here in State College, and we're doing it
all live here from the tire rack dot Com studio.
So coming up later on the show, we do have
another edition of in case you missed it. We are
(16:10):
also going to have Lee's Leftovers to close up shop.
We're gonna have our picks against the spread in the
NFL this weekend. It is all yours here as we
take you all the way up until nine am Eastern time,
six o'clock Pacific. But concern concern for one of the
best players in the NFL. We'll tell you why that is.
That's next here on FSR.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
Be sure to catch live editions of two pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Box Sports Radio.
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. We
got Brady in Orlando. Hi, Brady, Lvar, myself and Lee
de lapp are here live in State College. Hello here
at the Graduate Hotel.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
Good morning.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
We got Penn State. Yeah, we got Illinois this weekend. Yeah,
a top twenty matchup in college football. By the way,
where did Brady? Where did Illinois fall in the BQ
Top fifteen? Like they were just outside of but where
would you say?
Speaker 4 (17:14):
They're at number eighteen?
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Okay, there you go teams, which is one higher than
what they are on the regular one.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
So it's gonna be a gonna be a fun one
this weekend here in State College. Everybody getting fired up
for it. We've got a LeVar Arrington room key card here.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
That's kind of creepy, O, really pretty sweet. You're going
to your room and it's your face on the card.
Speaker 4 (17:37):
Yeah, you're going to my room with me?
Speaker 5 (17:38):
No, no, it is creepy for all those offensive players
out there. Hell, you just think they're gonna be able
to open up their door, go to bed and have
a sweet dream as they laid their head on the pillow.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
All you got to do is say my name. You
look at that pop up, look at that card key.
It's like your worst nightmare.
Speaker 5 (17:57):
LeVar Arrington's standing over whatever is in front of him,
just absolutely sacking you.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
You say my name in that mirror three times. You
start seeing me leap over furniture in your room, but
you can't see me. It's like, real quick, you know,
that should be like a horror story quick, you know
what I mean, like a short movie, like real.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
Quick, like LeVar LeVar LeVar. That doesn't that doesn't right.
Speaker 7 (18:20):
You see me leave something, leap in the backgrounds leap
against and.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
And I'm in my natural I'm like, I'm just leaping
around the room and my No, that wouldn't be a
good story for State College. That's I take that back.
I digress. That took that story just a little bit
too far man, and that was over.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
I was Buckus's son.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
His nephew, Luke Buckets was was the guard. It's a
true story. Luke Buckets was the guard for Illinois that year.
And I had the tendency on them. They they short yardage,
they would come out of the huddle and they would
come out of the huddle quickly, they run up to
the line and then they will hunker down into their stances.
(19:01):
That was what and if they did that, and I
had I had the note of it, just just to
have the note, Like you take the notes on what
you see tendency wise outside of the x's and o's,
Like is this guy low in his stance when he's pulling.
Is this guy high when he's he's you know, in
past protection, whatever it may be. You can watch enough
(19:25):
film and see some guys cheat so that they can
get out, you know, with their legs and stuff like that,
and you start to see, you know, quarterbacks have certain tendencies.
Running backs. You have certain running backs they'll look side
to side if they're getting the ball. If they're not
getting the ball, they don't look side to side, like
different things like that. And I had a tendency on
narrow line and the tendency was on short yardage plays.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
If they come.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Sprinting out of the huddle, it's on one, it's on
like it's on first sound, and so it was fourth
and short, and sure enough they came sprinting out of
the huddle. They got deep into their their stances so
they were heavy on their hands and the play should
(20:11):
have never happened because actually Luke was off side.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
He moved, but.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
They didn't call it, and you know, for Rest is history,
so thanks for not calling it. And you know, but yeah,
I mean that it should have been an off side.
It should have been you know, fourth in and six
or something like.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
I mean, I I personally, I mean, I think you
should have been flagged for a personal foul.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
I should have been flagged super awesome.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
I mean that was targeting well before targeting existed, so
I think you should have been thrown out.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
To be truthful, I did hit him upside the head.
I mean I did.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
If I didn't hit him upside the head, he wouldn't
have went down. Elmer Hickman was too big of a dude,
big dude. You know, he drugged me for it for
maybe a yard or so earlier on in the game.
I hit him, hit him square, and he didn't go down,
like and then I had to like, like you know,
like hogging down like you know, like you had to
fight into the ground, you know.
Speaker 4 (21:05):
Like like put your feet and put your heels.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Into the ground. That was a big tim football man.
He was dragging me, but I got his ass.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
That played though, I got and then the leap blogger
was born because of that.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
That's right. Hopefully we'll get one of those. We got
to see where it's at there there.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
They should be tap around on tap around town today.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
We know at least getting one. We know that.
Speaker 1 (21:28):

But is it really bad? Okay, okay, let's do it.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
Really good pumpkin spice Lotte.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
How did you pull that off?
Speaker 4 (23:29):
Well, we're in state college.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
You know you got stroke here when Lavarg says, can
you guys make a pumpkin spice Lotte? And they made
it happen.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
He's part of Stick City and he looked just like
see him punk. He's just like, come on, let's keep
it real here. He's got the eleven Jersey rocking right now.
It's part of the city. Look, let me pull mine out.
Here we go.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
Oh you got here?
Speaker 8 (23:51):
We go?
Speaker 4 (23:51):
Here we go?
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Oh yeah all right, oh yeah, buddy, hell yeah, oh yeah, bang.
Speaker 4 (24:03):
Yeah man, you wroll my bit? You want my bit? Huh?
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Think I did?
Speaker 4 (24:08):
I think you did hammers.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
But we were talking about the injuries yesterday in the NFL,
and they've been piling up for teams, and we briefly
mentioned this a short time ago. But now you've got
Michael Parsons, who he's I mean, what did you get
a stinger? He was evaluated for concussion. Then he gets
rolled up on so he's gonna have an MRI on
his ankle. Uh. Later on today Malik Neighbors also got injured.
(24:35):
He got a concussion, and Lee Lee was asking the
question yesterday, are injuries more prevalent now or is it
just the coverage of it and we know much more
about it.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
I don't know that it's more prevalent. I just think
that there's there's more attention on it, for certain, and
I think the the the understanding and the idea of
what we think about injuries is higher.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
You know, I think that we.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
Gore, you know, gory things like football represented, the arena
represented the gladiator, and I think you know, early on
that's you know, you looked for the gore of it all.
You look for guys to get heads slapped and clotheslined
and all kinds of different things happen. There's been some
really really crazy injuries that have happened throughout the history
(25:26):
of football. I just think that people's understanding of it now,
just the sensationalizing of certain injuries in particular, like the
minute somebody goes down, you know, you're automatically assuming it's
a concussion. And then now there's the whole idea of
what concussions represent. So I think that that's the idea
(25:49):
of it.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
Now.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
They have the tent, Like back in the day, they didn't,
they make sure they showed you, you know, that was
a part of the coverage, was showing that, like look
at them right there, they're giving the guys smelling so
and all kinds of stuff. You seem back out there
on the field like three four plays later, you know
what I mean. Like nowadays, they take you into a tent.
It's like a whole production to go over the protocols
(26:12):
of what an injury represents. So I think that there's
some type of almost like taboo connected to injuries in
the National Football League anymore. So I think I think
it is an over coverage of it. But you know,
that's just kind of I think that's the nature of
the beast, the spread themself, whoa has grown, The sport
(26:33):
itself has grown so much, so of course the coverage
has been so high where that's what you're going to
you know, that's what you're going to experience when injuries
take place.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
I also think it's the fact that we've got more angles, right,
Like there's more cameras, there's more shots of it with
social media. When someone tears their acl we're like we're
getting close ups and we're able to see like literally
their knee bend and twist and be able to almost snap,
and we're all watching it. And then there's guys who
are diagnosing it who are from there. So every little
(27:07):
layer to the game of the NFL I think has
kind of not been exploited. But I think that's a
part of it too, is like in this world of
you know, with the Internet and digital platforms and social media,
like we're all trying to educate ourselves. So we see
an injury and we're like, oh, how does this impact
my team, impact my fantasy team, impact my bet. There's
(27:29):
all these things that we're searching for. So I think
you get a lot more from that. And also the
way the NFL changed the injury rules, I think it
was what maybe a couple of years ago. Now, you know,
with the different designations, you know, we know they've you
know reconfigured kind of you know, injury reserve, how that
works bringing guys back and on. So that kind of
plays a more meaningful way of managing the roster. But
(27:50):
also looking at you know.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
Probable, questionable, doubtful.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
You know, they've they've almost like kind of you know,
eliminated some of the categories that were before and now
it's a little more vague going into it, where you
see guys who are kind of more you know, doubtful
and questionable, which is supposed to be like a fifty
fifty shot of playing and a lot of guys somebodys
will fall under questionable and that's how teams will kind of,
you know, hide guys and or put them on the
(28:15):
injury reports. You don't really know if they're playing or not.
So I just think it's almost become a little bit
of strategy. But it's also become a big piece of
just all the information that you get from the NFL
and from the Internet and everything that's being provided to us.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
I wonder what you say in that que It made
me start thinking immediately maybe it's based upon the gambling
aspect of it as well. You know, like you think
about it, if you're if you're getting that type of that, well,
I don't know, because you like to base your go
to the window, sure is that what it is and
(28:52):
lose my money at the at the window? But maybe
that's maybe that's a part of it though, right, because
the gambling aspect has become in the fantasy football part
of this piece of this has become such a big
piece of the growth of the sport. Maybe the idea
of understanding real time and and beyond what the level
(29:14):
of injury is, what their level of participation is, has
become more important more than ever. You know, before you're
just a you're a casual fan. I mean, you might
have been betting, but you couldn't. It wasn't like you're
getting real time, live time information on on the player
(29:34):
that got injured, you know, due to your bet. But
maybe that's a part of why you know, you might
place different bets after somebody goes down. Like you might
have said, Okay, well I thought I thought this before
Malik Neighbors went down. What did they say, Oh, he's
not coming back like this, that's the injury. Okay, Oh
(29:54):
Michael Parson's ankles. Okay, like his ankle whatever it may
have been. Right, So now you're basing the premise of
what you're betting. You might even base that off of
what you're going to do with your fantasy football roster
the upcoming week. So a lot of this information is
actually aiding and helping, you know, guys with what they're doing,
(30:14):
you know, bets wise and with their their fantasy I know, like.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
Some gamblers they don't like betting on Utah because they
can't trust that Kyle Whittingham is going to give him
the accurate information on the injuries. So like if Cam
Risen's going to play, it out like he was back
and forth last week or the week before, and nobody
really knew how to handle it because they just weren't
being forthright. And so Petros has talked about that to
where you couldn't get a clear answer from Kyle Whittingham
(30:40):
as to whether or not somebody was going to be
available depending on which game was. So I also thought this,
whatever happened to smelling salt they still use, we should
get some of those on the show.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
Have you ever used them?
Speaker 2 (30:54):
No?
Speaker 3 (30:55):
All it is is like an ammonia cap, and you
just crack the ammonia cap and it just really puts
a hole in your brain.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
But you feel good. Yeah, you know, you get these parts.
It's kind of the same thing. Yeah, it wakes you up.
Yeah it does.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
By the way, the guy next to me on the
plane bo oh my god. Really oh, because I think
he had taken a connector. He'd flown from Hawaii, oh
Man and then to Philly, so he had been he would.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
Have been sweating in that Hawaii side. Went straight to
the airport ten hours because you know, the Hawaii airport
is exposed to you know what I mean, You're still
warm and stuff when you at the Hawaii Airport. So
it's like you got that little warmth and then you
got into the tube and then the two You know,
it's crazy. I now my whole thing because I always
get sick when I fly. So I just pound emergencies
(31:51):
the whole time, like I make emergency cocktails. I take
two emergencies and my nose is still running, and I
take two emergencies and drink them, like mix them in
my little waters and drink them the whole time, hoping
that I don't get like six sick.
Speaker 4 (32:09):
Yeah, I just don't think of it is what it is?
Is that? What it is?
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Hashtag built different, hashtag I need to blow my nose.

A's have played their final game at Oakland State. Excuse
me see them?
Speaker 6 (34:43):
Oh okay, forty seven thousand fans and beat the Rangers
three two.
Speaker 4 (34:48):
There were some people crying. There were people crying. Take
that stuff.
Speaker 8 (34:51):
There was one employee we said, have at it.
Speaker 6 (34:54):
He gave out his employee discount code on Twitter, so
you can get thirty percent off at UH session.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
I mean that's smart.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
Good.
Speaker 7 (35:01):
Somebody probably told him to do it. I mean, like,
I mean, why not. The A's were so good back
in the day. When they had the Bash Brothers and
Ricky Henderson and all those guys like those were great teams
and wires.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
I think all these years later they're just gonna go
by by what a dumb he. Did you ever play
in the ol dot co the Elven Coliseum?
Speaker 4 (35:23):
I don't believe so. No.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
The only uh with San Diego the Chargers where I
played on a baseball field in the football field, which
was interesting. That was interesting where you had to hit
the different parts of the field that were sand or
whatever textured for for baseball. Try falling on that. That's
(35:45):
a that's a rush. Yeah, that's a rush.
Speaker 4 (35:47):
Man.
Speaker 5 (35:48):
Leo Ko was a dumb worst locker rooms, the whole
place was just absolutely I mean it was terrible. It
was the worst place to play in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
My brother for a couple of years he had season
tickets to the Raiders and he said one game, like
the stall door was broken and there was just some
guy sitting on the toilet doing drugs mid game, just
some drug addict in the middle of an NFL game.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
Yeah, I'll just never forget.
Speaker 5 (36:17):
They started playing some ice Cube music and he would
just like roll up out of the suite and just
be like a big puff of smoke and then you'd
see him. You know, It's almost like it was like
it was like a realoking down upon like all you know,
the citizens and all his his you know, patriots.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
It was interesting.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
But I was like, whoa, this is cool, Like ice
cube really runs this place off?
Speaker 1 (36:40):
What else?
Speaker 8 (36:40):
So goaty another baseball news Dodgers clinch the n West
title this evening, or excuse me, last evening yesterday last
night coming back to beat the podret seven two Yankees
clinched the Ale East crown, winning ten to one over
the Orioles.
Speaker 4 (36:53):
Aaron Judge hit.
Speaker 6 (36:53):
His fifty eighth home run. Twins lost in thirteen innings.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
Efty eight home runs.
Speaker 4 (37:00):
Fifty eight home runs.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
So you know how popular the NFL is. If back
in the day, if somebody in baseball was close to
sixty home runs, it would be the lead story every
single night. Well, he's already done it, okay, but he's
in the midst of maybe doing it again, which is
even more impressive. And we're talking truly impressive, Molik neighbors.
It's like like the NFL's literally dominated baseball doesn't even care.
(37:22):
It's like not even a big deal anymore, and he's
not on the gas.
Speaker 4 (37:26):
I'm assuming he should be. He should be.
Speaker 5 (37:29):
I had a buddy who got lucky in Yankee Stadium
last night, like lucky lucky?
Speaker 4 (37:35):
Yeah? Really, how'd that?
Speaker 1 (37:38):
What do you mean?
Speaker 4 (37:38):
In case you missed it? I mean how or where?
The where is what I'm more curious to, but yeah,
the how? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (37:45):
It was just it was a U FOURK moment for
uh no doubt his wife?
Speaker 4 (37:50):
Yeah wait what Wow? They had a sweet what do
you not understand? Jonas well?
Speaker 1 (37:55):
Like I'm trying, like like for real like that, like
he told you, like, hey man, I just took care
of business at Yankee Stadium.
Speaker 4 (38:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (38:03):
I can't have a ton of details because it actually
would give away something, but I'll just put it this way.
Speaker 4 (38:08):
It was. It was. It was a dream kind of
come true. Bail nice once in a lifetime.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Look at that.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
Man.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
Well, you can't do that at the Oakland Coliseum anymore
because you know nobody there. Somebody's noted sewer rats and wildcats.
What a
Speaker 4 (38:29):
Hour two
