Our situation is more about, frankly, it's more about holding
your blocks. It's more about not making mistakes. It's more about,
in my mind, the receivers running through a tough man
demand coverage and running on through it. The types of
things that we all think we should be looking at

The facts are that there's some of that, but there's
also some of execution. There are some of the talent.
I like our talent. I really do like our talent.

If you want to coach the team, here's the playbook,

here's the play calls. In fact, if you want to
bring your own playbooks and your play calls and your
own coaching staff, do it. You do it like you
talk about how much you know and who's best to
make the decisions every single week coach the team. Isn't
that like the final frontier? I would love to see it, Like,

let's be clear, Jerry Jones needs to make the next
hire of the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys himself.
He needs to lead this team. I feel like that's
a final frontier because what he did right there, you're
undermining your head coach. Now. Now he's going to get

judged to be a head coach that leads the way
and does things the right way, but you're sitting there
and you're undermining his authority with the players. Players sit
there and be like, yeah, Jerry Jones said, this is
what we're the fishing in. Jerry Jones said that we
can't do this. Jerry Jones said this, that and the other.
Sound like Jerry Jones need to be doing to play calling.

I just you know, I think that it's he's making
poortant to see if he wants this to be the

doing in media. I wonder if he's aware of the

stuff that he says, because this doesn't sound like or

how you're approaching it as the Dallas Cowboys, all right,

his life right, Like he's kind of like that grandpa
that isn't afraid just to speak on exactly how he
feels or what he sees and not really concerned about
the repercussions, you know, to Mike McCarthy in this case,

The way they run, the way they do business has
been great in one aspect, but not when it comes
necessarily getting the wins they're hoping for in the postseason.

This has been a playoff team, winning football team, and
it gives them that hope. So I don't know. I mean,
it's I'm not sure. I'm not sure what the fix is.
I know, defensively they've really struggled this year, but I'm
not sure Jerry Jones is gonna change that. I don't
think it's their you know, offensive creativity or play design

like that's not it either. The O line's not what
it once used to be. The running game obviously is
non existent, and obviously they have to win more and
shootouts because the way the defense is played. So it
kind of is what it is, right now that's just
that's the identity of this team.

you probably did need to address the running back position,
and you probably could have had Derrick Henry and you
chose not to. And all you've done is put the
heat on everybody in the organization to have to answer
for your commentary because you want to do two hits
a week on local radio in Dallas when no other
owner in the NFL does that. It's just like the

will take care of business. They've been one of the
better teams too against the spread this season, and in
fact Old Dominion, who's actually a favorite in this case,
has struggled to be able to handle it as being
the favorite. So I'm looking for Georgia Southern, who's, you know, defensively,

been pretty solid for the most part throughout the course
of the season, in particular the.

Last three games, this three game winning.

Streak that they're on the for six total turnovers, been
allowing about one hundred and fifty less yards per game.
And Old Dominion's got a quarterback in Colton Joseph who's
kind of ignited them a little bit.

But this is still a team that really struggles to
throw the football.
Speaker 6 (24:15):
It's mostly the ground game, mostly a one dimensional offense,
even though Joseph has improved the Old Dominion passing attack.
But take the point, take the two points, whatever line
you can find it at.

Go with Georgia Southern on this one.

The next matchup is one that I'm extremely excited about,
in part because you've got a couple of quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Who are playing at a really high level.
Speaker 6 (24:36):
Kyle McCord has been phenomenal this season for Syracuse, one
of the most productive quarterbacks in college football. Remember, he
was the old Ohio State quarterback. They couldn't give him
the reassurance he'd be the guy going into the season,
so he transferred to Syracuse and he's never looked back.
On the flip side of this one, though, you have
a Pittsburgh defense that's not necessarily as good as they've
(24:57):
been in the past, and I think Pat Nardusi would
be the first to tell you that. That being said,
though they're finding ways of getting off the field, they're
finding ways of winning football games.

This pit is still undefeated and then.
Speaker 6 (25:07):
Led by the freshman quarterback Eli Holston, who look at
a rough outing versus cow no and you got to
kind of look past that. But outside of it, this
offense has been fast paced, it's been explosive.

It's been one that can put up a lot of points.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
So you're gonna lay the six and a half points
here with Syracuse going to Pittsburgh, lay the six and
a half points. That's where I got that lineup. That's
where we're still at. And then finally Thursday, Night football.
The Minnesota Vikings headed to LA to take on the Rams.
A lot of storylines this week about the Vikings and

Rams potentially look kind of trade for Matt Stafford. A
lot of those rumors that come out. I don't know
how legitimate any of them are. But Sam Darnold's playing
about as good as anyone at the quarterback position so
far this season.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
So short week typically plays to the home team.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
But it's gonna be tough when you've got a locker
room with a bunch of guys who feel like they're
trying to get rid to Stafford, they're trying to get
rid of Cooper Cup. That's never easy. Go ahead and
lay the three points there with Minnesota. I think that defense,
the Brian Flores defensive scheme too, will force Matthew Stafford
into some poor plays and they're not gonna have the
offensive firepower to keep up with the Minnesota Vikings. So

lay the three points here on Thursday Night football. There
it is there, you go.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
See that's the attitude, all right, And I've had to
deal with that my whole life. When it comes to gambling,
you're gonna lose, maybe lose by a lot, but you
know what, You get back up, dust yourself off, and
go back for more. Walk right back up to the
window and say I'd like some more smoke please, and
continue on.

That's the way that works, by the way, But how
do you do when you lose so often?

To play well enough for him to win this past game.

Yeah, but I mean like he played well enough to
have him in that game and they were in position

what like eighty percent of his passes on wasn't good enough.

I mean, he's played better than Jared Matt Stafford this year. Yeah,

But but that's the surprising thing about the whole report
that the Rams would be, you know, looking at Stafford
and trading him to the Vikings, is how does that
come out?

They probably feel like it. This dude's won a Super Bowl.
He's you know, put himself in a position to be

like he's leaving plays out there. It doesn't feel like it.
I mean the win over the Jets was probably the
worst he's played this season. If you're talking about Sam

I mean, maybe they look the past two weeks, they're
one and one, they didn't win versus Detroit, and they're

with Jaj McCarthy as the future and Sam Donald is
the here and now. I don't get it, man, Like

I could see it from the Rams perspective, but I
cannot see it from the Vikings.

Yeah, I agree. I don't think you're you're upgrading by
doing that. And Sam Donald, you know, he could be
like that, that type of quarterback. Like I'm trying to

a retrack guy that that ends up being your starter
for you know, quite rich rich Gannon is a good one.

That's a good great Like in my mind, I was thinking, like,
is it like a Jake Delom, Is it a Tommy
Maddox something like that, Like that's a little bit more

I think the more interesting question would be at the
end of this year, if they continue to play well,
they're a playoff team, not saying they're a super Bowl team,
but let's you know, playoff team and he's had a
good year.

Then the conversation comes like, how do you let him
walk out the door after a success?

How do you take his starting job away? How do
you justify that for the unknown?

That's a hard one. Yeah, because he's still he's not old. No,

a it would be a good question to have to
answer because you have a whole entire rookie contract.

Me could turn into a Jordan Love situation. You would
want that. I'm telling you, you don't want to ruin
your quarterbacks based off of you know, like the rush factor.
You don't want to just rush them in and if
you could hold on and you're still competitive to try
to win a super Bowl, and you give that first

rounder an opportunity to really mature, develop and grow into
being a real professional after And I would say that
for most any position, to be honest, if you're able
to give them that type of time, you're doing something right.
So I mean they might have stumbled onto something pretty
special with Sam Darnold, and with the type of personnel

that they have that they're able to hold everything together.
I mean this could be a pretty good team, pretty
dog on good team. I mean, it's crazy that they
got to be in the same division as Detroit's crazy
even saying that that's you're in the same division as
Detroit because you're going to have to contend with and
for what it's worth, I think Green Bay is going
to be that team as well. You got very competitive
NFC North and and if I can be competitive with

Sam Darnold the way he's playing right now and he
earns it, that's that's a hard one to justify saying, Okay,
we're going to go from you back to the original
draft pick that we were thinking we were going to use.

Our situation is more about, frankly, it's more about holding
your blocks. It's more about not making mistakes. It's more about,
in my mind, the receivers running through a tough man
demand coverage and running on through it. The types of
things that we all think we should be looking at

is well, we're designing bad plays or we're designing bad concepts.
The facts are that there's some of that, but there's
also some of execution. There are some of the talent.
I like our talent. I really do like our talent.
I like our young talent, but young talent has a

few more mistakes associated with it than than if you
are dealing with a veteran player.

So you know, kind of called out the offense there,
called out the the play design. Mike McCarthy was also
asked about this and responded like this.

so but I don't think we have bad haships in

It's just like Mike McCarthy's like, okay, dude, what do
you want to do about it?

Like, because at some point you got to be able
to look back on times like these and be like,

have thought I was, or I was going. Let me
go back and see what what what does do to

If you want to coach the team, here's the playbook,

here's the play calls. In fact, if you want to
bring your own playbooks and your play calls and your
own coaching staff, do it. You do it like you
talk about how much you know and who's best to
make the decisions every single week coach the team. Isn't
that like the final frontier? I would love to see it, Like,

let's be clear, Jerry Jones needs to make the next
hire of the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys himself.
He needs to lead this team. I feel like that's
a final frontier because what he did right there, you're
undermining your head coach. Now. Now he's going to get

judged to be a head coach that leads the way
and does things the right way, but you're sitting there
and you're undermining his authority with the players. Players sit
there and be like, yeah, Jerry Jones said, this is
what we're the fishing in. Jerry Jones said that we
can't do this. Jerry Jones said this, that and the other.
Sound like Jerry Jones need to be doing to play calling.

Now you don't think the players are talking to one
another about it, Like y'all, y'all see what Jerry was saying. Dang,
I just you know, I think that it's he's making
poortant to see if he wants this to be the
all in year. Some of the things he's saying and
doing in media. I wonder if he's aware of the
damage that he does when he says some of the
stuff that he says, because this doesn't sound like or

feel like this is an all in season as to
how you're approaching it as the Dallas Cowboys, all right,
I can.

Only compare this to like a grandparent, And then my
grandma's still around, So maybe this is relatable to some
people out there.

think of what they say, and they just say it

his life right, Like he's kind of like that grandpa
that isn't afraid just to speak on exactly how he
feels or what he sees and not really concerned about
the repercussions, you know, to Mike McCarthy in this case,

I mean, I'm not sure if the final Frontiers him coaching,
it would be pretty amazing.

everything else, and I don't know, maybe to grow to

The way they run, the way they do business has
been great in one aspect, but not when it comes
necessarily getting the wins they're hoping for in the postseason.

This has been a playoff team, winning football team, and
it gives them that hope. So I don't know. I mean,
it's I'm not sure. I'm not sure what the fix is.
I know, defensively they've really struggled this year, but I'm
not sure Jerry Jones is gonna change that. I don't
think it's their you know, offensive creativity or play design

like that's not it either. The O line's not what
it once used to be. The running game obviously is
non existent, and obviously they have to win more and
shootouts because the way the defense is played. So it
kind of is what it is, right now that's just
that's the identity of this team.

And then all in year, Yeah, it's.

will take care of business. They've been one of the
better teams too against the spread this season, and in
fact Old Dominion, who's actually a favorite in this case,
has struggled to be able to handle it as being
the favorite. So I'm looking for Georgia Southern, who's, you know, defensively,

been pretty solid for the most part throughout the course
of the season, in particular the.

It's mostly the ground game, mostly a one dimensional offense,
even though Joseph has improved the Old Dominion passing attack.

The next matchup is one that I'm extremely excited about,
in part because you've got a couple of quarterbacks.

Kyle McCord has been phenomenal this season for Syracuse, one
of the most productive quarterbacks in college football. Remember, he
was the old Ohio State quarterback. They couldn't give him
the reassurance he'd be the guy going into the season,
so he transferred to Syracuse and he's never looked back.
On the flip side of this one, though, you have
a Pittsburgh defense that's not necessarily as good as they've

been in the past, and I think Pat Nardusi would
be the first to tell you that. That being said,
though they're finding ways of getting off the field, they're
finding ways of winning football games.

Led by the freshman quarterback Eli Holston, who look at
a rough outing versus cow no and you got to
kind of look past that. But outside of it, this
offense has been fast paced, it's been explosive.

So you're gonna lay the six and a half points
here with Syracuse going to Pittsburgh, lay the six and
a half points. That's where I got that lineup. That's

The Minnesota Vikings headed to LA to take on the Rams.
A lot of storylines this week about the Vikings and

Rams potentially look kind of trade for Matt Stafford. A
lot of those rumors that come out. I don't know
how legitimate any of them are. But Sam Darnold's playing
about as good as anyone at the quarterback position so
far this season.

But it's gonna be tough when you've got a locker
room with a bunch of guys who feel like they're
trying to get rid to Stafford, they're trying to get

the Brian Flores defensive scheme too, will force Matthew Stafford
into some poor plays and they're not gonna have the
offensive firepower to keep up with the Minnesota Vikings. So

So I mean they might have stumbled onto something pretty
special with Sam Darnold, and with the type of personnel

that they have that they're able to hold everything together.
I mean this could be a pretty good team, pretty
dog on good team. I mean, it's crazy that they
got to be in the same division as Detroit's crazy
even saying that that's you're in the same division as
Detroit because you're going to have to contend with and
for what it's worth, I think Green Bay is going
to be that team as well. You got very competitive
NFC North and and if I can be competitive with
