Speaker 2 (00:27):
Let's give this, buddies, you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Bawly, We're going to turn up this weekend too. Don't
think for two seconds we ain't going to turn up
to this again. Multiple times we're.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Talking about Hawaii or South Carolina, I'm talking about state college.
All right. That's fair, Oh, it's very fair. What do
you think James Franklin was like this week with those guys.
I talked to James yesterday, Coach Franklin on quite Franklin
on quite Franklin.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Yeah, I mean, you got to flush away to pass
and you got to focus on the future to president
right now, you know, and I think they you know,
I think there was some very very critical, very uh yeah,
no doubt. I think there's some real, real good takeaways.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
I asked him.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
I I definitely asked him about what I said on
our show, you know, about being conservative and taking shots
and stuff like that, and you know you want to
hear his response.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
Make sure you check out the podcast. But it was good.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
I mean, I thought we had a very candid conversation,
as we usually do. We talked about what happened, you know,
this past week, and which is cool for me because
getting him on Wednesday, he's had some time to really
reflect on everything that's taking place. And so while it
may be a little difficult for him to kind of relive,
you know, the weekend before the game before, because they've
(02:00):
now moved on. They you know, they've moved on from
it long before we get I get to my interview
with him, but you know, now they're focused in on Washington.
Washington is a formidable opponent and they're coming into State
College for a white out with the real true white
out weekend. This is the white out weekend game, and
(02:21):
so they you know, they got to dial back in
and refocus on being able to finish out as strong
as they can. So there you go. I thought it
was good. I came away with positive vibes.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
By the way, my son still thinks the pent and
State football I brought back from State College. He still
thinks it's a wolf. That's all right. I don't know
where he gets It's a law of the jungle, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
The wolf that that abides by it shall shall shall
thrive and the one that doesn't shall perish.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
I mean, he loves it. Like it, Papa, I want
to use the wolf football. But yeah, so and then
he sees the logo last week on the TV and
he goes, he goes, it's the wolf. Was like, yeah,
well it's it's a nitny lyon but it's a little
bit much. It's old, and it's true.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
The wolf that understands the value of the pack shall thrive.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
But that he said, though he wasn't like Lobo or.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
You know, no, that's a fair point. Well done.
Speaker 5 (03:21):
Well, no, usually you say that, he'll he'll say more
things in Spanish than anything else.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
Hey, you got Eddie there, Eddie. Eddie approves that is
well done. The approval of.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
There's a usually your comments, not mine, asking I'm fighting uphill.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Battle and why are you you know tried everything, you know,
have you really? Yeah, but I heard that you guys
really like watching like storms and tornadoes and stuff like that,
and monster trucks. I like playing with monster trucks and
certainly watching dump truck shows.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Yeah, hell yeah. So what we do, it's our thing basically.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
You know. I feel like if we added a plot
to Lee's show and made him a trash man, added
your truck to the scenario, I think we could do
a remake of Sanford and Son, but it'd be Lee
and Jonas.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Hey, listen, don't sleep on trash trucks. They just won
somebody in an election. Yeah, just saying there's nothing right,
you know, there is that it is trash day.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Well yesterday was iris Yeah, so almost perfect time.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
It's going to be left at the foot with the
wind out there and the fires. By the way, everybody
be safe with the fires. They're still raging on.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
It's that's crazy, not great, not great at always some fires. Man, Hey,
but you didn't use the kite. You didn't fly in
the wind. Yesterday it was super windy and if I
had had a kit I would have flew.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
It too much wind and the park was destroyed. Tree
branches everywhere just wouldn't have been great. We're not the most coordinated,
do oh, my son and I. So it's a problem.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
You can't make an excuse when there's enough wind for
your kite to fly super super super high, like high
with the birds'.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
You wouldn't be able to steer it like it just
it was too much. The wind was too strong where
we were all right, listen, we're gonna dust that thing
off and make it work. Not a problem at all.
Speaker 6 (05:22):
You know.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Nowadays you can put like a little cam on there
almost like it's a like a drone, you know, see
what the kite is seeing while it's up there, you know,
bring that bad boy back on in.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Me personally, I like the ones that you can you
can reel like, you know, like so we got a
fishing fishing real not the old school one where you
just get the role of string and you just let
it go. And you know, some people aren't kite kite connoisseurs,
but me, I love kites. When I was growing up, yea,
there I had the Batman one, you know, almost like
(05:57):
it was like the Batman side and that was being
shot out out.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
It's pretty so you go Yeah, it's almost as sweet
as tire rack. And we're doing the show here live
from the ti rack dot Com studios tirac dot com.
I'll help you get there, an unmatched selection, fast free shipping,
free road has a protection and over ten thousand recommended installers.
Ti rack dot com the way tire buying should be
so well. I had a lot of practice during the break.
Yeah you did. So. The Dallas Cowboys got a little
(06:25):
bit of an issue. I don't have a quarterback now well,
and there's I saw some conflicting reports as to the
severity of the injury that Dak Prescott suffered a hamstring
injury and that it was Jane Slater of the NFL
Network who says that the tendon partially tore off the bone,
and so that feels like it's typically longer than a
(06:48):
four week absence. He's on the ir so he's going
to miss the four weeks. We're at week ten. If
you ask Vic Fangio, he says that listen, I know
it's Cooper Rush, but when it comes to what the
quarterback situation is like in Dallas, not really that much
(07:08):
of a difference.
Speaker 7 (07:10):
I don't think it will change a whole lot. You know,
Rush has been there a long time. He knows the
offense as well as anybody there does, and he'll operate
it efficiently.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
So apparently not a significant drop off from Dak Prescott
to Cooper Rush as the Dallas Cowboys are mired in
a little bit of a slump and just trying to
steer this thing back on the tracks, as Mike McCarthy
is trying to save his job as we laid out
last hour. So I don't know about you, guys, you
can go ahead and close the coffin on the Cowboys.
(07:42):
It's over, and it's probably been over since before the season.
They're not going to the playoffs. This is done, Cooper Rush,
Trey Lance, doesn't matter. It's broke. Dak's probably not coming
back until maybe later in the season if that at
that point, and I think this is going to be
the twenty twenty five or Dallas Cowboys season going down
(08:02):
the toilet in front of everybody's very eyes, going down, Yeah,
the toilet done, flush him, It's over.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
Is that an indictment on Dak though, if they're saying
like it's not really going to be any different with
Cooper Rush in here, versus the Phils Dak of course,
And the hard part is is you signed Dak to
the extension before the season, so you're living in this world.
Yet that's the rhetoric when you lose them and you
have your backup come in. So I understand what they're
(08:32):
probably trying to say, but the truth of the matter
is the offense should be drastically different. It's a backup.
Cooper Rush's strength aren't anywhere close to what Daks are.
So this is a Dallas team that doesn't have playoff
aspirations this year, So let's just kick the can down
the road to twenty twenty five. There's a lot of
changes that could be taking place. You know, maybe Mike
(08:54):
McCarthy's back, maybe it's not you know, if we're looking
at that from that standpoint, who you're bringing in. And
on top of that, like what roster changes are you
trying to make? You got to sign Michaeh Parson's do
an extension that there's still that looming out there. There's
a ton of things they need to do with this
roster help improve this team. But this could be quite
possibly that last biggest off season that will determine what
(09:21):
this team is for the rest of Jerry Jones's life.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
I mean, in all seriousness, like.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
This is a as pivotal of an off season as
there will be for Jerry Jones for the rest of
his life owning the Dallas Cowboys in regards to what
direction they're going to go short term, long term all that,
Like this is that moment in time where they've got
to take a long, hard look in the mirror and
figure out what this team wants to be moving forward
(09:49):
and are they going to break it down? Are they
going to just try to add in some pieces here
and there, But the first thing may very well be
if they're you know, end up finding another head coach
Belichick loop me.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
That's the toughest thing.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
I just wonder is this still an attractive job to want? Like, like,
I don't give a damn how high profile you are,
how good of a coach you've been, how strong your
resume has been, Is this an attractive job to take
At this point? I almost feel like it's career suicide. Honestly,
(10:25):
I don't know that you can go in there with
the way the circumstances are set up. Like I feel
like if Bill Parcells couldn't get it all the way done.
You know how much hope was going to be left
after that. And that's been a really, really, really long
time ago. I mean, some people may not even remember
that Bill Parcells was the coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
(10:48):
Has been so long ago, and I felt like that
was kind of you hit the end of Okay, if
Bill par Sales can't come in, if Bill Parcells is
complaining about his ability to be able to run the team,
the handwriting should have been on the wall all them
(11:08):
years ago. And you've had all these coaches that have
come since, and sure they've they've had a level of success.
They have done done you know, well in the regular season,
they have made it to the playoffs. They have had
a run or so in the playoffs as well, but
it just has not been what the build up of
(11:32):
them is supposed to be, you know, in terms of
being a Super Bowl contender or Super Bowl perennial super
super Bowl attendant. I just don't, you know, I feel
like it's a I feel like we it's run its
course and having it run its course the way that
it has, what coach in their right mind is looking
(11:55):
at this opportunity outside of getting a crazy amazing guarantee
heat contract going into it.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
What coach would touch this job? You guys want odds? Sure,
all right, you went, next head coach odds for the
Dallas Cowboys. I've got it. Here, here we go. According
to something called sports betting Age, these are the updated
odds on the next head coach if the Dallas Cowboys
(12:25):
decide to move on from Mike McCarthy. All right, would
you guys like to guess the favorite? Go ahead and
guess the favorite? Who would you say?
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Don't you give us the list of names and then
we'll pick. We'll choose, We'll choose. I mean, are we
just pulling them out of the air? I feel like
that's a hard one to do, Okay, unless you're looking
at the lists?
Speaker 4 (12:43):
All right, So let me go ahead and retry this again.
Mike Rabel at three to one is the favorite to
be the next the names, damn, we could choose all right?
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Here, Why don't you do it? Okay, here's here's the laptop.
All right, let me set it up for you. But
you've already seen it though, right, so hold on, hold on,
let's go here.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
Let's see this. How awful. This is all right.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Here we have a list of names that are well
in contention for the job if the job were to
come open. The list includes Lane Kiffin, Matt Naggy, Mike Vrabel,
Bill Belichick, Ben Johnson, Brian Cliff, Kingsbury, Todd Monkin, Kirby Smart,
(13:31):
Deon Sanders, and one Lincoln Riley. So, which one would
be your first pickoff of that list?
Speaker 4 (13:40):
It's no odds included on any of that list that
you just did.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
There are odds, there are odds, but but we're going
to match the ranking of who's going to get it
by the odds.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
I'm going to say Ben Johnson is going to be
my selection. That would be number two on the list
that you've already looked at. Would you like to give
it a try for number one?
Speaker 5 (14:02):
Well, we already heard Vrabels.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
What three to one?
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Yeah, so's he's number I mean it is, well, he's
number three. So now we've named the top three. Do
we want to give a name for number four on
this list of names that were just given out?
Speaker 4 (14:17):
What are the odds from Matt Naggy? Because that one
makes zero sense to me.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
Matt Naggy would be one thousand and one eighth on
the list. What are the odds like the twelve to one,
twelve to one, right, there's no shot that happens, I know.
And Deon Sanders is what are the odds on Dion?
He rounds out the second to last at twenty two
(14:43):
to one.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
Ah, so good Value is the number one coach? Is
he currently coaching somewhere else?
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Was he out? Mike Vrabel is on the sideline for
what is it?
Speaker 3 (14:53):
The Ravens. Who is the on sideline for brown Brown Browns?
The Browns? Yeah, so he's the number one on the list. Okay,
I actually I don't know, man. I just I don't
have any real confidence and in any of these guys
being able to get in there.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
And fix it. I don't think Rabel would sign up
for that.
Speaker 5 (15:15):
That's the thing is, like every single coach you mentioned,
you have to ask yourself, are they willing to sign
up to not have complete control, to have an owner
that's gonna say something on a Tuesday that you're gonna
have to answer to at some point Tuesday or Wednesday.
It's it's really odd. I mean, it's crazy to think about.
But that's the hardest thing about that job is having
to deal with the ownership structure, and ultimately, you know,
(15:38):
at times you may be the guy that's gonna be blamed,
whether it's your fault or not.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
I think it's going to be Ben Johnson. I think
Jerry Jones is seeing him clown that team and thinks,
I've got all this money invested in DAK, all this
money invested in CD lamb. I want to see some
of this creativity with my team that I don't see
with Mike McCarthy, if that's the direction he goes.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
I just wonder if there's still a coach out there
that looks like a broken down or a misused player
in their career and says, you know what, I can
bring them in here, and I can I can make
them into that that franchise guy. I just wonder if
there's a coach that's sitting there looking at it like
I love the coach the Cowboys, Oh my gosh, I'd
love it. I just don't know that there's one out there.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
Yeah, well, there'll still be the storyline of the NFL
in the officit Gary wins either way.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
And what do you call it? What do you like
if this was all in year all in what do
we label this one? The Empire strikes back?
Speaker 4 (16:41):
Yeah, the revenge here it is too far later finally
gets it. It is Two Pros and a Cup of
Joe Here on Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,
Jonas Knox with you, So coming up next here, it
is a Thursday tradition. We're going to catch up with
our guy Albert Breer to find out the s the
very latest on hot seats around the NFL. Who could
(17:02):
be next to go? That's yours right here on FSR.
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. Coming up,
we are going to catch up with our guy Albert
Breer just a couple of moments from now. That is
a Thursday tradition here on this show. Every single week
we catch up with ab That'll happen here momentarily, but
first for all the latest from around the world of sports.
(17:24):
We say hello to Eddie Garcia. Two Pros and a
Cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio will close
up shop a little over fifteen minutes from now with
another edition of Lee's Leftovers. But right now, we welcome
in Albert Breer. He is the star of Amazon Primes
Thursday night football coverage. He is the senior NFL reporter,
lead content strategist at the MMQB, and he's always a
(17:48):
friend of us here on a Thursday morning, AB, how
are we feeling here?
Speaker 6 (17:53):
Good morning, LeVar?
Speaker 4 (17:56):
What was that?
Speaker 6 (17:58):
Good morning? LeVar?
Speaker 4 (17:59):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (18:00):
You never say good morning to me? First, good morning
to you too, Albert Breer. And congratulations on on your
big victory.
Speaker 6 (18:10):
Oh, thank you, thank you. I will be the first
to say I did not do that one coming, especially
with my concerns about the offensive line.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
But here we are, here, we are Yeah, there you go.
With that being said Albert, we now transition over from
I mean, it's all roses for the Ohio State buck guys,
completely the opposite for the Dallas Cowboys. The injury to
Dak Prescott. What the hell is this team going to
look like this offseason? What changes can we expect? Where
(18:42):
do they stand right now as an organization?
Speaker 6 (18:45):
Yeah, I mean there are a lot of big picture questions.
You know. Obviously Mike McCarthy's in the contract year. He
is a coaching situation looks like going forward, you know,
the owners getting older, and you know you've got some
big picture decisions to make again this offseason. Last year
it was Dak Prescott and Ceedee Land. This off season
(19:06):
it will be Michael Parsons. And you know, I I
think you look at the rest of this season and
I mean, this is not like a small deal with
with Dak Prescott's hamstring. This is potentially a season ender. Now.
You know, I think he could be back as soon
(19:27):
as a month from now. But you know, it's where
they're at, like, you know, what's left for you in
a month from now? Are they able to tread water
for long enough to stay in the race where you
know you're gonna be bringing Dak Prescott back to play
relevant games if he is able to come back that soon.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
It's just.
Speaker 6 (19:44):
You know, they're sitting there now at three and five
and and and and not with a ton of hope.
And you know, it does feel like I don't know
if it feels this way you guys, but this feel
to me like this that this game is Sunday against
the Eagles is almost a must win for them him
It's tough to see where then they'd be at three
and six. How do you dig out of that. They
(20:07):
got the Texans after that, and then they have the
Commanders the week after that. It's I mean, this thing
could be a three and eight and the season could
be over very very fast.
Speaker 5 (20:19):
Albert, we spoke about coaches on the hot seat and
uh and referring to Dallas, we did note that Mike
McCarthy technically they could just not renew him or extend him.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
So I don't know I have the hot seat or not.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
But going through the list of head coaches that are
in that position, who's the one that you feel like
you look at now that we've got Robert sala as
number one, but who's like the next guy potentially inline
in your mind?
Speaker 6 (20:45):
Well, obviously goannas. Allen's done now too, so we're we're
two and I about him.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
Sorry, we kind of wrote them off after the first
two weeks.
Speaker 6 (20:53):
Yeah, yeah, you know, there are a couple like that
I just kind of like look at and say, all right,
like you know, how to the next three four weeks
ago that the most the most obvious one to me
would probably still be Doug Peterson. And you know where
they're at and do they you know, want to get
(21:14):
a jump and you know a lot of times there's
going to be a domino effect of these where you know,
a team that is thinking about making the change after
the season looks at it, is, what we're going to
do this later on? Do we want to signal the
potential candidates that were our job is going to be available?
Do we want to be able to start like vetting
candidates and being able to do that stuff out in
(21:34):
the open rather than sneaking around, you know, start to
do your background work on a coaching search. You know,
when you have a couple of teams that are already
in that position where they can do that, you know,
other teams can look at it and say, well, we
need to be competitive in the market too. So look,
I think Jacksonville is a team you look at and say,
(21:54):
if that goes the wrong way over the next few weeks,
could they consider a change based on some of the
things that happen earlier.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
In the year.
Speaker 6 (22:01):
I'd say maybe. And the Raiders are just a weird
one that I'm keeping an eye on. You know, they
they fired their offensive coordinator, They fired their offensive coordinator
on on on Sunday night, and they also fired two
other offensive coaches. So you're stripping your your staff of
your your coordinator, your quarterbacks coach, your line coach. Those
(22:22):
are three pretty important positions on a coaching staff. And
so you bring in North Turner, you promote his son
Scott to be to be the play caller. You've now
had four former head coaches go through there, and Joe
Dolben and Martin Lewis are still on the staff, and
Tom Cofflinson around as an advisor. It's just, look, I
(22:44):
don't know about the direction of this whole thing, you know,
And I think back to you know, like one ap
got the job in the first place, and you know
it was on the advice of of a of a
leadership group of three players Josh Jacobs, DeVante Adams and
Max Crosby. Well two of those three are now gone.
So you know, I think when you hire somebody like
(23:06):
Antonio Pierce with such little experience sort of been coming
on you to let them grow and give them time.
But you know, like based on some of the moving
parts there, and you know how this all came to
be in the first place. And now you've got Tom
Brady in there as a minority owner. I'm I'm not
I'm not. I'm not I'm not counting any chickens, you
(23:27):
know when it comes to where the Raiders are or
where they'll be coming out of the season.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
All right, Well, I brought up Nick Sirianni earlier in
terms of because we we we did a you know,
kind of a segment talking about the list of guys
that coaches that were on the hot seat AB and yeah,
Nick Sirianni is on that list of guys that is
on the hot seat. And I just I'm curious if
(23:55):
this team does not play up to maybe what the
expectation that's been kind of established when he first got there.
I mean, are we how are we viewing you know,
this season with Philly if it's say, say they end up,
you know, not the divisional champs, say they make it
to the playoffs but don't make it to the super Bowl?
(24:17):
How how are how is this being viewed? And it
does it fall at the feet of Siriani?
Speaker 6 (24:23):
Yeah, well they're I mean, I mean right now, they're
six and two. So look, I think that for the
short term that that conversation is in the tabled. Obviously,
it was a very hot conversation. You know, Previously I'd
say right now, Siriani sort of coached his way out
of it. But like again, like they're hitting a really
(24:44):
difficult stretch in their schedule now. Now maybe the Cowboy
game isn't a hard or isn't as tough as as
as it looked like it would be a month ago.
But then you get the Commanders in a short week,
you got to go to Los Angeles to play the Rams,
and then you play at the Ravens week after Thanksgiving.
So I would say, you know, a month from now,
(25:05):
we'll have a you know, a more complete picture of
where the egos are. That said, I think that you know,
like some of the pieces of transition they've had have
started to come together. You know, two new coordinators that
that that really were kind of like from outside Ciriani's realm.
That was a big transition, like incorporating what they do
(25:25):
into into what what what what the team has been doing.
And so you know, bringing Vic Tangeo and Kellen Moore aboard.
It seems like that's starting to come together now. And
then there's the leadership transmission to transition in the locker
room too, I mean, losing Jason Kelcey on offense and
then and then Fletcher Cox on defense is a big deal.
And you know, I know, you know, when they when
(25:47):
they had their five they they had kind of these
are accountability these quote unquote like accountability and reflection meetings,
so they they wanted to kind of like look in
the mirror and say, you know, okay, like like where
is all the that's gone wrong? And I think that
did them a lot of good too. So I think
they're in a decent spot now, but the next month
will tell tell the real story of where they are.
(26:09):
They've feasted on some shaky competition. You know, I think
the only good team in that four game winning Street
the only team to look at it, that was a
good win with the Bengals. Other than that, they beat
the Browns, the Giants, and the Jaguars. So we should
know more about a month from now on where.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
They really are. Albert Breer joining us here on Fox
Sports Radio, Amazon NFL on Prime Thursday Night Insider, senior
NFL reporter at the MMQB as well too. I wanted
to ask you just on the positive side of things
in the NFC East as well too, the Washington Commanders.
It seems like it wasn't that long ago that Ben
Johnson quote unquote said there were too many basketball people
(26:44):
kind of running the show there. Now they're apparently the
place to be in the NFL. Who deserves a credit, I.
Speaker 6 (26:52):
Mean the owner for you know, kind of being able
to flip it and get good people in charge. And
then you know, I I I actually think, you know,
like the the the guys, they got to go in
and get Adam Peters and to go in and get
Dan Quinn and to project that those two would work
(27:14):
really well together, which you know, they have a lot
of like common people like Kyle Shanahan is the big one.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
You know.
Speaker 6 (27:20):
Obviously Kyle was d Hughes you know, as his offensive
coordinator in Atlanta the first couple of years there, and
then and then and then you know, uh and then
uh A, p and and and and and and and
Kyle were together in San Francisco. So there's some commonality
there with them. But I think, you know, being able
(27:41):
to project that those two would work so well together,
that's the credit to the people on top two.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
And so yeah, I.
Speaker 6 (27:48):
Think a lot of people deserve a lot of credit.
But I think I think a huge part of it
is just changing the energy in the building and then
going and finding players that fit what they want to do,
and you know, it's not guys that are the superstars,
but to go and find a Frankie Lou and go
and find a Doorn's Armstrong, and you know, to to
to go and get Austin Eckler and find guys that
(28:11):
really fit what they want to do and what they
want to be. You know, of course we're all gonna
talk to the quarterback, and there's no question Jaydon Daniel's
been outstanding, incredible for a rookie. But you know, I
think that the energy changing in the building and just
getting everybody in the same page and pointed in the
same direction and bringing in people that fit there's a
huge part of why they are where they are.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
Hey, Albert, I got one. That's a subject we talked
a little bit about yesterday. I'm probably, I guess more
concerned than maybe others about it, but I feel like
there's a lack of parody in the NFL right now.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
And you can just go and look at it.
Speaker 5 (28:43):
As far as the odds and the teams that are
certainly slated to go to the playoffs, you got twelve
teams that all have about a seventy seven or eighty
percent chance of making the playoffs at this point, and
then you've got what nine teams I think we said
yesterday with two losses or two wins. You've got eleven
teams that it looks like have like a ten percent
chance or less. So you've got this league where it's
(29:04):
like there's almost like it's either you are in the
playoff hunt or you're completely out of it. With the
exception of about nine teams who are biding for two
playoff spots, one on each side of the conference?
Speaker 4 (29:15):
I mean, is the NFL aware of this?
Speaker 5 (29:17):
Do you notice this kind of stuff and hear people
talking about this on the outside.
Speaker 6 (29:20):
I mean, you know, I have a lot of thoughts
on that's Brady, But you know, I think one thing
that's sort of interesting, like, would anybody be surprised if
after all of this we wound up with the same
four teams at the end that we had last year,
like Detroit, Kansas City, San Francisco, and Baltimore. I know
San Francisco's have been great, but if they get McCaffrey
back healthy, I don't think anybody be surprised if they
(29:41):
made it back there you know, and then you look
beyond that, like Philly's in the mix again, Buffalo's in
the mix again, Pittsburgh and the mix again, the same teams.
You know, I think a huge part of this is
just the amount of turnover with some of these franchises
and coaching and quarterbacks, and you know, eventually, I think
(30:01):
over time, it's not even that you're not good, it's
like that you now you have no identity of who
you are, like organizationally, if you're turning over coaches every
two years, if you're turning over quarterbacks every three if
you're changing systems left and right, and you know, there's
some bigger picture stuff with that too, Like you know,
like with the amount of money these teams are making,
(30:23):
like there's not as much of a deterrent to firing
coaches are getting rid of players anymore because they can
absorb the financial hit, you know, Like I mean, Matt
Ruhle is a great example, right, Like they gave him
like a seven year contract, which was unprecedent. David Tepper
fires him, walks away with like four years left on
that deal, and then fires Frank right after one year.
(30:44):
So like I mean, like legitimately I think it's like
that those two guys have like three years a piece
left on their contracts, you know, and and neither of
them are there anymore. So there are a lot of factors,
but I think the number one factor is like just
the d stable as they of mediocre and bad teams,
and that those teams are kind of you know, it's
(31:05):
it's not just that they're having a bad year, it's
that they've become bad. It's just they're bad places now,
you know. And I think that allows the teams that
are really stable, like your Kansas City's, and it's hard
to imagine, like five years ago that we'd be calling
Detroit one of those that they are now. Like it
really almost I almost feel like it widens the gap
(31:26):
between the teams that really know what they're doing and
the ones that don't. You know. It's it's an interesting dynamic,
and I think it's a it's a good thing. It's
a it's perceptive of you to pick that up, because
it's something I've I've certainly noticed too.
Speaker 4 (31:38):
Get him on X at Albert Breer. He is Amazon
NFL on primes Insider for Thursday Night Football coming up
later on tonight. Between the Bengals and the Ravens, Senior
NFL reporter at the MMQB and our buddy every single

Speaker 4 (32:53):
What does that?
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Sounds incredible, but they're still good time to find out
what's lack? It's lee, I have the laugh.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
What do we got?
Speaker 8 (33:03):
It's that time to move on over Halloween decorations into
Christmas decorations, jumping right over the Thanksgiving It's uh.
Speaker 4 (33:11):
I don't know if you noticed that.
Speaker 8 (33:12):
The trees are out at your local hardware store.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
I don't like it.
Speaker 5 (33:18):
They were actually out before Halloween even happened.
Speaker 8 (33:21):
I was trying to get some last second Halloween decorations.
I couldn't find them because.
Speaker 5 (33:25):
I asked and they're like, yeah, A bunch of executives
walked through and thought we need to have Christmas stuff
up earlier this year.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
I'm like, okay, are you kind of missing the boat
on Halloween? Then, like, I don't know, I will say this.
I went into Ace Hardware yesterday. Man, pretty glorious Christmas
set up. They got those kind of put you in
the mood. Although I think Thanksgiving is getting the shaft
every more and more each and every year, just completely
skipped over disappointing.
Speaker 8 (33:54):
You just kind of turned the Halloween pumpkins around, hid
the jackal face.
Speaker 5 (33:59):
I guess I don't really unders stand why you're a
fan of Thanksgiving joes.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
You don't really eat. That's not true. It's true.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
You jump into that cranberry sauce, act like it's blood.
Speaker 4 (34:13):
You like that stuffing. Huh. You know I'm thinking about
doing this year too. What are you thinking about with
my your turkey? No, not even the turkey. I think
I'm gonna do turkey pizza. Oh a recipe, and you
do know you can cook more than pizzas in there.
(34:34):
I'm aware of though, as a spokesman for Nie, Like,
of course, I'm worried that. What do you consider yourself
a spokes What is that again? It's the seagull.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
That's a sounds like a seal that that's getting pleasured.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
Gig up, Sorry, Rob Parker, your thoughts so that sound
little gig up?
Speaker 3 (35:08):
What what did you say, Rob? I didn't hear you, rock,
little gigu What sound effect is that? I did say
that Roba work together on Sunday nights. That's funny as hell.
(35:30):
That's funny as hell. One more time, just one more time.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
One more little gig up. Alright, what else? What else?
Speaker 8 (35:41):
Speaking of getting ready for the season, I'm putting together
my gear for my trip to Green Bay.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
This is what I want to hear about Lee's leftovers.
I want to hear about Green Bro like I don't
want to hear about pumpkins. Tell me about you well,
clothes clean that you're putting together.
Speaker 8 (35:56):
Yeah, I got I got my plunge John's. I got
my big Green Bay jacket. I got a bunch of stuff.
But I realized I don't really have good shoe wear.
So you tell me because I'm not, you know, I
don't do I need to get like some special shoes,
and do I gotta wear them in before I go
out there?
Speaker 3 (36:10):
Special shoes? You want shoes that are going to keep
your feet warm and dry. I would assume rain like
rain boots or yeah, don't try to be cute like
Jordan's out there any right, right?
Speaker 6 (36:22):
Like?
Speaker 8 (36:22):
But do I go rain boots or do I are
there like special shoes?
Speaker 4 (36:25):
I gotta get shoes. Is it gonna rain?
Speaker 3 (36:28):
I'm trying to figure it out. It's it's one hundred
percent going to be cold. I'll tell you that.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
When is this happening? What's the date.
Speaker 8 (36:34):
It's the weekend before Thanksgiving, so it's like November twenty
third or twenty four something like that.
Speaker 4 (36:38):
Yeah, like how many It's like like two weeks.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Two weeks, two weeks. That's November and Green Bay. It's
going to be cold. Bro Listen, this is my thing.
As long as I'm dry and i'm warm, I'm cool.
So you can wear what shoes you want to wear.
This is what I do when it's like cold and
I want to keep my feet warm and dry. I
know this might sound weird, but I put vasiline on
(37:04):
my feet. Then I put big big sandwich bags on them,
and then I tape them, and then I put my
socks over top of them. On God, your feet will
be burning up and they will be dry, and you
can wear whatever a pair of shoes you want to
wear at that point, because not a trash bag like
a ziplock.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
Just bar Levar's vassoline. When you get it, there you go.
I got enough for you. If not, we'll call Diny.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
Oh wow, what tousue?
Speaker 4 (37:32):
Too soon
