Speaker 1 (00:00):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with
you here. Coming up on this Monday edition, we're going
to talk about some bad football in the NFL and
some bad officiating in college football. Don't worry, there's some
good stuff here. There's a team that just, somehow, some
way is figuring out ways to win, and also a
team that seemingly is just going to ride this wave
(00:21):
all the way to another Super Bowl. We'll discuss that
as well too. It appears to be the end of
the road for several teams and players in the NFL.
They've tried everything in New York. Nothing seems to change.
We've also got another edition of In Case you missed
It that involves a coach who apparently was inspired by
a member of this show. We've got an FSR I arm,
We've got Lee's leftovers. It's all yours coming up next here,
(00:43):

Speaker 1 (01:38):
So the hell are we? Yeah? Man, there's some rough football.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
Hell yeah, go ahead and say again, Jones, just so
everyone can hear exactly how you feel.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Man, there's some bad football teams in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Toya, I thought yesterday was the worst day to all season.
And I know we had some tight games, right San
Francisco Tampa Bay was great Kansas City to be able
to find a way getting a block field goal at
the end. But so there were some tight games. But
for the most part, man, like if you went through
there one o'clock four o'clock, almost half the games were blowouts,
(02:19):
and even in some of the games that weren't, I
mean just like the Vikings Jags. Oh god, it was bad.
It was.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
I mean, it was.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
I would say this, this was that was the worst
weekend of NFL football that I've seen in a long time.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
And I thought the early slate of games on Saturday
in college football, I know we're going to get into that.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
You know, most of them were blowouts.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Miami got upset, but it was like, all right, blowout, blowout, blowout,
and then it got better and better throughout the course
of the day. BYU Utah was fantastic. And then you
get to Sunday and it's like, all right, well, at
least we get an early kick. Yeah, but it's Giants Panthers,
Like who I mean, it just got worse and worse
and worse. And I mean you can go through game
(03:08):
by game, but my takeaway from it was I come
away and it's no longer a well, you know, there's
no preseason, it's early in the year. No, man, we're
coming up on Thanksgiving, it's week ten. They're just bad teams. Like,
there's a lot of bad football teams in the NFL,
and it was on full display yesterday.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Dang, did y'all say the Jets, Yeah, that was one
of the blowouts, and.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
I heard the Jets. Yeah, e T, that's just brutal. Man.
Speaker 5 (03:40):
Listen, whatever you want to focus in on, or blame
it on, or think about it it. I mean, I
don't disagree with what you guys are saying. I just
would say, get used to whatever this new norm is. Like,
I mean, just get used to whatever this new norm
(04:00):
would be, because I ultimately think that the idea of
what the approach is in terms of what makes this
product a more digestible product, is ultimately what's most important
(04:21):
to the people who are making the decisions. And I
think it has impacted how the games are being played.
It's impacting how competitive the games could possibly be. I
mean I'm watching I'm watching some of these games like
(04:41):
the one play with Nick Bosa and and and Baker Mayfield. Like,
I just think the physicality of the game is changing.
I think when you talk about when the physicality of
the game changes and it becomes a little bit more
pronounced as as finesse, you're not going to see a
(05:06):
level of of play. The stiff arm, yeah, I mean,
I mean it's one of the greatest stiff arms I've
ever seen.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
I don't look at it that way. I don't look
at it that way.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
That might be hyperbole, but I don't look at.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
It Derrick Henry step aside.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
Right, Look, here's here's the general point is like even
in a last night out of Sunday, a football's game,
you know, a field goal to win, and I get
all that got through five interceptions like you can comb
through most these games. And it was very rare. Both
quarterbacks played well and and I think it can be
(05:41):
summed up in a number of ways. We need to
get back to run the damn football. I'll just flat
out safe.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
That's where I was hitting.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Good there, because I can't wait to vent about this
stuff because it's frustrating and I think we we watch
a lot of these offenses and and it's it's been
a trickle up effect in the sense of a lot
of coordinators who want to get head coaching jobs. You
know how they get those head coaching jobs. Oftentimes it's
slinging the football around the field, developing a quarterback, making
the quarterback look good. That's how they get a job
(06:11):
as a head coach, or those interviews. It's very seldom
you see a team that, hey, they're the number one
rushing team in the NFL, you know, winning a lot
of low score games because they're you know, probably not
creating quite as many explosives. But it's not very often
that you see guys who are, you know, I guess
proclaimed to be one of the best. Kyle Shanahan's one
(06:31):
of the guys that stands out because of his ability
no matter what, to run the football. What he's able
to do. But even if you go back to probably
his greatest downfall, that was being up twenty eight three
in a Super Bowl and he wasn't running the damn
ball enough. I mean, it doesn't matter where you look.
There's a lack of quarterback development. There's issues on the
old line. You got play callers who are hesitant to
(06:52):
want to run the damn ball and establish the running game.
This has been so difficult to watch. And the thing is,
I hate that fact that it's a Monday morning and
I know a lot of people wake up and they
don't want to hear this, you know, they want to
hear you know, moaning and complaining all that. I can't
help it. I've tried to stay optimistic about it. The
last two weeks in the NFL stunk, and I said
(07:13):
earlier in the year, and I couldn't figure out what
exactly it was because I was bothered by the fact
that college football seems so much more exciting. It was
so much more fun. You're the number one teams getting
knocked off week after week after week, and then we
get to Sundays and you're like boo, like it's just
there's this dramatic drop off and it's tough to watch, man,
(07:34):
it is tough to watch.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
Well, I'll say this, you know what I found to
be interesting. And I don't know if this is down
the line of what you guys are saying or if
it's not to I went to a game this summer Sunday.
I went to the Commander's game, and I had an
(07:58):
interesting epiphan we're looking at trying to expand the borders,
Like we've been having conversations about Super Bowl and it
going abroad and how that looks and and you know
the Giants, Giants playing, uh, the Carolina Panthers and Munich
and just them trying to expand their borders. You know,
(08:20):
European people are traveling and making a destinational travel to
come to America to see games after this year. Yeah,
some of them permanently. I mean, you joke. But I
didn't even get in when they can. I didn't even
I didn't. I never looked at it changed. Yeah you
(08:42):
know what changed. You better have that paperwork to climb
over wall. I don't know the people coming from over
to pond or are dealing with that. Is it's more
Jonases people, you know? But anyway, people on Stephan Brady
this weekend.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
Oh we're going to get into that. Oh I can't
wait to hear about it. That was cool for about
ten seconds.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Oh no, wellcome to welcome to my Christmas Eve.
Speaker 5 (09:12):
But anyway, I thought that was pretty interesting that people
are traveling from abroad, so they're not just trying to
build or it's not just a building of an expansion
of the fan base that's going to watch these games
there and get teams there or put the Super Bowl there.
(09:35):
They are going over there and they're exposing these these
foreign countries to the sport of American football, and they
are actually coming over here and watching the games. And
I never looked at it in the reverse perspective of it,
and I thought that was interesting and to me, if
(09:56):
I'm being honest. This product that we're talking about. How
how trained an eye do you have to have to
understand what it is that you're just explaining? Q?
Speaker 1 (10:07):
How is it?
Speaker 5 (10:08):
How how much of a trained eye from a from
a casual fan does it have to be to understand
what's being saved right now?
Speaker 4 (10:17):
It's funny you asked the question because I was thinking
about this, and I actually think it's easier for a
novice to see it's bad football then then probably someone
who's maybe even watched more regularly. And the only reason
I said that is because it's gonna be fairly easy
to like to to look for excitement or look for
(10:38):
big plays, and when you don't see it and you
don't see like like, you're almost gonna your first impression
is gonna be like this is doesn't sound like it's fun,
and it seems bad, Like it's not entertaining, there's low scoring,
there's not a lot of things happening. Like I actually
think for a novice that if they haven't been introduced
to it, unless you're coming from maybe the world of
(10:59):
soccer or footballs, they'd call it over there. I almost
feel like it would it would be easier for them
to not like it than to actually like it when
it's bad football. Even not knowing anything right, not knowing
anything schematically about it, I think it would be hard
to get excited. They probably are likely the tail getting
is awesome. People are getting after drinking. They're all excited
(11:20):
about it. But then again, you have to experience going
over to like a European football game or English you know,
football game, and watch how they prepare for those matches,
and watch how they prepare for those games. The closest
thing in America you can compare to it is college football. Yeah,
it's really not even comparable to say, in the NFL,
(11:41):
because of the atmosphere around the games themselves. Like, yeah,
there's tailgating, there's some of that, but it's just there's
not as much history, there's not as much tradition, there's
not as much other things that go on around the
sport itself. And so if that's the people you're talking
about when they come over, I think they'll be really
disappointed to see it.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
I fall on the other side out of it. Actually.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
I think that they're like you hear people chairing and
stuff like that, and it's like, oh, we're chearing we're charing,
we're charing, like I feel like it's kind of just
a mob mentality. People like being around one another and
and they're competing. And I think that competing aspect of
it is enough. I think the spectacle of it is enough.
(12:25):
I think it seems like that's what it feels like.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
I think there's alcohol.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
I think, well, you know, does help.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
I also think there's a lot of people that watch
the NFL and their primary focus is my fantasy football
team and my gambling, and it's just different eyes that
are viewing the sport.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
But that's that's the evolution of it all. It's more
of a gamer's game now than it's ever been.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
But like at a certain point you got to put
your bill fold away and just open your eyes and realize, oh.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
God, this is brutal.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
And we've had, you know, look, and what's weird about
it is and we've talked about it. The skill level
of the athletes playing today is unbelievable, but it does.
But it does almost feel like it's so yeah, they're trying.
It's almost like they're trying to do too much. Like
there's just too many gadget plays, too many this and
(13:18):
that too, like too many players in motion, all that stuff,
and it's like you just look around the top rushing
teams in the NFL, the old school quote unquote teams
in the NFL, and it's all the teams that are
playoff contenders right now or teams that are going to
go to the postseason. Yet you've just got this approach
that it's like, all right, we're just gonna throw this
(13:38):
out here, We're gonna and teams get bogged down. There's
just you know, and then you add on top of
that the physicality. It just that was rough yesterday. That's
the one where I kind of took a step back
and went, man, I don't know, like what game was
really good, Like Tampa Bay and San Francisco was good,
but there was three there was three miss kicks, Like
(14:00):
there's turnovers, there's bad special teams like it just every game.
It just it was rough to watch yesterday. I don't know, Man,
I think y'all are over selling that. I think that
we're not.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Man, we watched it all, Buddy, I know you're out one.
We were watching them all and even the Broncos Chiefs,
like it wasn't really like the Chiefs turned it on
when they needed to. I thought, you know, bo Nicks
played extremely well for a rookie on that stage and
obviously did enough to give them a chance at the end.
But it's just again, I'm not trying to poop pool
on it. But we've been talking about this now for
(14:32):
two weeks and it's become readily apparent. There is a
huge disparage between the teams that are going to the postseason,
the teams that have a quarterback, the teams that don't.
The teams that are well coached the teams that aren't.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
It's just situation.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
Are well coached struggled to win those games yesterday, and
I watched them. I mean I was at a game,
but I did watch them. I don't think that it's
an insinuation of you guys, saw and I did, and
I think that it just comes down to, well, it's
the reality.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
I think, personal opinion. That's what I think you guys.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
But if you're if you're okay. But we're not trying
to get an argument. This is just factual. If you're
at home, you're able to watch every single game if
you want. It's hard when you're at a game to
watch every single other game. It's not an indicatement on you, dude.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
You I'm not, I'm not.
Speaker 5 (15:17):
I'm just saying you threw it out there as if
I didn't see any other of the other games I've
I've watched what was going on. I kind of watched
them the same exact way I stay on my phone
with how I watched games. But the idea of it is,
I still think it's more personally. You know, if you
thought the Vikings and JAG's game was that entertaining, it's not.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
See I don't. I don't know that I watched games
for entertainment.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Okay, you thought it was good football.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
You thought it was good football.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
I thought that the games were close, so whether they
were playing bad football or good football, I thought that
the games were competitive. I didn't know which teams were
going to come out on top of some of the
games that that I was spectating on that that I
was going through and watching, I didn't.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Know who was going to win. So if I watch
that much of it, we'll.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
Watch your trumpet for the NFL.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
I'm not doing that.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
I'm not a Minnesota when you gave over four hundred yards,
but come up with twelve points because you can't figure
out a way of converting in the red zone and
Donald throws three picks, Like, yeah, that's bad football. I mean,
talk about Jacksonville, who who didn't even didn't even throw
for over one hundred yards. There was multiple games where
that was the case yesterday. Think about that.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
I agree, even throw over one hundred yards.
Speaker 5 (16:31):
I am not disagreeing with you, Bud, And I'm just
telling you I understand where you guys are coming from.
I really do. I can understand the frustration. I'm still
just saying to some people, they may be seeing these as, wow,
we had a competitive weekend of football, you.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Know, Like here's the other thing. Was weather bad or
impactful in any of these games?
Speaker 1 (16:53):
No?
Speaker 2 (16:53):
No, Like it feels like it's been like cooperating and
we're approaching mid to late November, so you can't even
weather whole weathers across from what I could gather. That's
just so puzzling, Like like you would think, like, Okay,
if these if that, if that was the case, if
Minnesota Jacksonville was the case, but it was like, uh,
you know, rain and just you could barely see in Visibilla.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
No, like it's just.
Speaker 5 (17:18):
Are you able to be as bullish on a team
like Minnesota who has shown that.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
No, yeah, oh goddamn, there you go, all right.
Speaker 5 (17:27):
I was just curious because that was for me, That's
what I was coming away with from yesterday and watching
these games, was like, what, like Kansas City like could
have lost the difficult Kevin O'Connell, Like it was a
low scoring game they could have lost. Like I'm looking
at certain games and I'm like, what they could have
lost this game? The New Orleans Saints win against the Falcons,
(17:49):
Like what the f is going on now? If I'm
seeing it from the blowout perspectives? Like, oh god, Like
the Eagles just thumped the Cowboys, Like I get that.
I get that you're supposed to have a better game
in those scenarios. But with Dak Prescott out, I can understand.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Why the Jets then that wasn't competitive at any point,
at any point, at any point. What about the Bears,
I don't know, Jesus, I think that their true color.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
You want to, Jan, I put it on, Hell, Mary,
I'm putting it on. I don't know that they were
ever a good team. They haven't proven to us that
they've ever been a good team. So I don't feel
like we should be disappointed when the Beers don't deliver,
because they've never proven that they're a team that delivers.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
The highlight of the Jags Vikings game was that it
was over well Trayvon Walker throwing haymakers and then being
stunned at the end of the game. Afterwards and they're like, hey,
that was a personal foul penalty. Yeah, I don't know why.
I don't know, dude, what do you how about you
ground and pounding a guy that's already on the ground
with the football trying to get it out and people
are looking around going, what are you doing?
Speaker 1 (19:00):
Kevin o'colls, what was that?
Speaker 2 (19:02):
But we'll take the win and the game is iced
on a personal foul penalty.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
It just one of my favorites was the pick that
uh Russell through and Piggins didn't even attempt to go
for the ball.
Speaker 6 (19:15):
He just freaking started getting in a fight with one
of the dps. I was like, oh, okay, I mean
there was kind of a cheap shot first. It wasn't
like he initiated, but he literally just turned around and
got on top of.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
It.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
Feels great Satan Daniels is the real deal. He made
some throws yesterday. I was like, God, Like, I don't
know that I've seen a quarterback since I've been watching
Washington that can play like that. I haven't seen a
quarterback that can make the throws that I saw him
(19:51):
making since I've been paying attention to the real to
the commanders.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
But now the commanders bump.
Speaker 5 (20:00):
And say no, I said it all day yesterday. Hell yeah,
that's because that's what I am. Yeah, that's what I
played at.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
I'm gonna say this before Jonas tries to transition us
off into wherever we're going next. In the show break
salutes all the veterans out there, Man, the Veterans Day,
and thank you for all those sort of serve this
great count for everyone out there for your sacrifice. You
know everyone thinks that, you know, sometimes it's always about
the ultimate sacrifice. A lot of people go out there
and serve, they come back, their lives are drastically changed.
(20:29):
So thank you from from our show, from me, from
everyone out.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
There for your service. Chopper and Big Mic.
Speaker 5 (20:37):
Yeah, specifically, I saw a dude, a wounded warrior yesterday.
He looked like RoboCop bro like one of the most
phenomenally physically built dudes, his whole right side like like
all prosthetics, leg arm every do what as bad ass
(21:02):
as you'll ever see.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
Bro.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
This is what it's all about. A lot of people
ask why was I back? Oh, he only came back
because they're playing the Steelers. I have not been back
to that field in over a decade. It's been like
twelve thirteen years. That was the main reason, outside of
being able to see the fans and just the conversations
that had ensuing to me going to a game, it
(21:24):
was to be able to honor our military and our
vets and all that stuff.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
So I'm glad you brought it up.
Speaker 5 (21:30):
Glad you said it definitely relevant to know our landscape
and how it drives the game of football. So yeah,
absolutely shout out to all our vets and all our
people of servicing.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Really truly, truly appreciate you.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio, Lebar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox
with you.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
So we're gonna have the usuals coming up later on.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
We do have another edition of in case you missed it,
We've got our FSR IR, We've got Lee's leftovers. It's
all yours here as we take you all the way
up until nine am Eastern time, six o'clock Pacific. But somebody, somehow,
some way figuring out a way to get it done
last night in the NFL. We'll have that conversation with
you here on FSR.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app Two Pros and.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
A Cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. Coming
up in about fifteen minutes from now. Apparently there's a
coach in the NFL who was inspired by a member
of this show. We've got the evidence, We've got the proof.
You will hear from him coming up here fifteen minutes
from now. I'll say this, it's not your Daddy's Lions.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
It ain't. It's their year.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
Man.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
That team.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
Somehow you do is sit on that couch, you eat
your ass.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
You ain't itch.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Somehow they won that game last night, Jo dadd it
wasn't And that is a game that the Detroit Lions
would have gotten wiped out first half and second.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Half they were getting wiped out.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
They responded and somehow figured out a way to get
it done last night.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
I mean, it's more about the Texans, like are they
are they heading towards the ground? I mean, they were
really in orbit last year and even the start of
this year. I think people kind of have very very
high expectations for them. I mean, it looked like they
(23:37):
were the part early on.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
Their old line has been banged up. I think it's
been the biggest issue to me. They've had issues kind
of mixing different guys at center. Last night, Tunsel went out,
Blake Fisher came in. You know, tough duty to replace
him as a rookie, especially versus that defensive front. But
I think that's one of the things that you Nico
Collins has been out last year, they were able to
overcome some of those injuries. Remember Tank Dell going out.
(24:02):
Then Nico Collins kind of stepped up and you started
to see some of the depth there. I think it's
catching up to them a bit this year. And the
other thing is you've got a book on CJ.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Stroud.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
You know you didn't really have quite as much on
Bobby Slowick. You know, you know, calling plays now, you've
got an entire year to look at the tape, look
at the film process, both of what these guys are,
what their identity is, and try to kind of pick
at some of their weaknesses. And on top of that,
you know, again you've got a roster that's been banged up,
So it only plays i think, to the advantage of
(24:32):
all those you know that are.
Speaker 5 (24:33):
Game planning for him. Yeah, because it does not look
the same, No, does not look to.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
Remember Demiko Ryan said in the offseason, he made the
point that, like, yeah, you know, there's a lot of
optimism about this team.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
But let's be clear here.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Although we I think they were what ten and seven
last year obviously went to the playoffs and beat the
Browns in the first round, Like, there was a lot
of one possession games, close games that they won, and generally,
you know, those those tend to go the other way
the next year to where if a team's getting breaks
and winning these close games, you can't always depend on that,
(25:09):
And it does feel like that's kind of the case
there with them. But that game last night probably should
have won that game like I mean, like Jared Goff
again throws five interceptions and they still figure out a
way to win the game. It's their year. It is
the Detroit Lions year. And I know LeVar you were
you were not bullish on them before the season. I
(25:29):
think you might have said that, Uh yeah, I mean,
but now here we are in the Detroit Lions just
still figure out ways to win games. In my mind,
best team in the NFC.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
And I don't think it's close. I don't think it's close. Uh.
Speaker 5 (25:44):
I again, I would have said, I still would say
after yesterday, Philadelphia is trending in the right direction. I
know they beat up on a wounded Cowboys team, but
I would still venture to say Philly is a team
(26:05):
that could challenge for the NFC. I think you gotta
even with the loss yesterday, I think you gotta look
at this commander's team and they have to be in
the conversation they could have won that game. In fact,
they may have a lot of people might have thought
that they were going to win the game or should
have won the game. If I look at some of
(26:27):
these other teams, I'm not a believer in Minnesota anymore.
It seems like that's looking more like fools gold every day.
I'm gonna give you another team that could be. And
you know we've said it. It's been stated. If Kyler
Murray stays healthy, Arizona is a dangerous team. And they're
(26:48):
trending in the right direction, And that seems to be
the case. Their defense is playing well, Connor is running
the hell out of the ball, and Kyler Murray is
being Kyler Murray. They're a dangerous danger his team. So
I just don't look at this as Detroit is all
by themselves. There are teams out there that can clip them.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
Yeah, but two things, lavarm Did you see his run
and those legs moving you see Super.
Speaker 5 (27:15):
Mario all like all the way in real life? Yeah, bro,
but it's the faster one, like when he get that star.
He got here there.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
By the way, I think James, did you see the hit?
Speaker 4 (27:32):
Though, Quincy Williams absolutely tagged. I've not seen a hit
like that on a quarterback in a while where the
helmet immediately ejects. I mean it was like this about
It was like, God, damn.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
The way you hit him like that, James can. I
think James Connor is my favorite running back in the league.
I've decided most underrated player in the league. He just
he's so difficult to bring down. He catches the ball
out of the backfield. There's zero drama, there's and he
doesn't get any of the attention, any of the glory.
Maybe it's because he plays in Arizona and he's been
(28:12):
fantastic for them, Like those Cardinals.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
Man, they're funny to watch. You called it Jonas. I mean,
this was Jonas's team. Before the season. You were higher
on them than most. You talked about it a lot.
So credit where credits do Jonas knocks of applause? Please?
Talking about before the season he was excited about Calamari.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
I just you know, I remember I had an.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
I had dinner and drinks.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
I had dinner and drinks with my guy Jesse Luketa
at Boerbard and Bone. We talked about the organization and
I was really optimistic about where they were at.
Speaker 5 (28:46):
And that's kind of the truth, Like that's kind of weird.
What do you what do you remember from that dinner?
The drinks were good, not much. The bone Marrow was good.
Bone Marrow was really good. Yeah, they brought us some
good stuff. But man, oh, man. Uh, there there was
some AMers. Oh oh oh yeah, yeah, there was hey man,
(29:11):
but Detroit, for real, they are the team. They are
one the team to the point of what we're discussing.
But there are some teams out there that can get
with them. I'm not writing off the forty nine ers.
I'm just saying yesterday.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
Becaffe was back. Kind of snuck him in there. I
think it's unfortunate the Bucks. It feels like they've got
one of the most difficult schedules, if not the most,
based on how this year has gone so far, and
without that, like if if they would have played, for example,
the Panther schedule, which you know, I guess they do
to some degree because they're both in the same division,
but I don't know. Some it feels like they've had
(29:47):
a much more difficult route so far.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
And the injuries don't help.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
But Baker's still keeping them in it.
Speaker 5 (29:55):
Say, what was crazy is they still could win their division? Yeah,
because they think Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
I just Atlanta frustrates me, man, I you just.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
Can't figure them out from week to week. I didn't
understand that.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
One the problem is Atlanta's for and won in the division.
It's to be really tough for anyone to win that division.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
Yeah, it is two Pros and a Cup of Joe
here on Fox Sports Radio. And I think what we've
noticed is that like a lot of the better teams

I think so.
Speaker 4 (30:23):

over to our executive producer, Lea.
Speaker 7 (32:06):
Lap Good Monday more than everybody, Jonas Brady, the lap
Hey Buddy, Hey function, Hey guys, Hey, Hey Casey missed this,
Hey Brady. Uh Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzy admitted
to uh function a little bit of a routine that
(32:29):
he went through before the game yesterday.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
Take a listen.
Speaker 8 (32:33):
This is how my day started. I got I get
down here to the stadium, get down here, super doown
my goat, and the head coach ws locker room, which
you know I've never used before, right So here, I
am early. The more I go to the bathroom and
this how my day started. I clogged the toilet, and
I'm like, this is gonna be a crappy day, pun intended.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
And so we listen. I'm like, Okay, this is not
really a great start to the day.
Speaker 8 (32:49):
Here we go and so yeah, I'm not really feeling
like a head coach of an NFL team right.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Now, Timmy.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
I love Darren riz anyone who's played for him, been
around him, here's voice. That's because he has given his soul,
his heart and soul awaid every kid he coaches, just
pouring into teams. He is as animated as it gets
on the sideline to love that dude. Happy for him,
and I'm not happy about the clogged toilet situation.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
That's tough.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
So did you see how they were celebrating with him
in the locker room afterwards, like he seems like everybody
and who's the Steelers special teams coaches? Another guy that
they Danny Smith. Yeah that the players, Yeah, players love
that guy.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
Levon, I don't know, did you ever play special teams?
Speaker 1 (33:37):
Yeah, I played for Danny Smith.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
Oh there you go.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
Yeah, I mean you tell me.
Speaker 4 (33:42):
I feel like special teams coaches are usually beloved. I
don't know many that like weren't loved by players in
the team.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Yeah. They they're overachievers.
Speaker 5 (33:50):
They got they have to be different than the rest
of the coaches because people aren't as interested in special
teams as the other two you know, parts of the game.
But yeah, I mean, you know, Hardball was a special
teams coach. Yeah, and people really love them. Many special
(34:11):
teams coaches know a lot about football. They just don't
generally get the opportunities that the offense coordinators the defense
coordinators get. But yet a lot of times they're the
ones that get elevated to being there coaches. So it's interesting.
But they do bring a lot of energy. I always
feel like special teams coaches are a lot like how
strength and conditioning coaches are like on that that that playing.
Speaker 4 (34:33):
Field they're kind of like your core, Like they're like
what connects the upper body to lower body. You know,
like if you have a big play on offense right touchdown,
like you can kill momentum or you can keep them momentum.
So they kind of have to keep them momentum. They're
almost maybe like a DJ in a club, like they
have to keep the good vibes going, Like you have
a banging song come out, then you're like you gotta
(34:55):
keep it coming out. It's kind of like that, like
they can't mess up, you know, if you score a touchdown,
you're kicking off. All of a sudden, they were turning
back for a touchdown your defense, It's like what the f?
Speaker 5 (35:04):
So, yeah, I could give you a momentum more stale
it on special teams.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
What else we got?
Speaker 7 (35:10):
Well, guys, in case you missed this, the Toronto Argonauts
are heading to another CFL championship, Great Cup, but they're
gonna be without their quarterback Chad Kelly.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
That was a gruesome injury.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Very brutal.
Speaker 7 (35:23):
What's now being called a fractured tibia. I underwent surgery
yesterday and uh yeah, he would be out for a
long time.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
Did you see the reaction from the lineman around him.
I mean they did.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
I can't watch.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
He was trying to hold it together, LeVar like hold
his literally literally trying to hold.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
It and walk. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
Yeah, Well the walking came after, but it was like
he was trying to hold the thing together. Linemen were
like bellowing over it was so bad. Lots of prayers
with him, man, yeah, man, jeez, yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
That I can't watch that crap.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
That's just I feel like that injury is happening more
often than ever before. It's happenings breaking that bone.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
It's happened a lot in the UFC two recently to
where guys will kick and they're just snapping.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Like when Anderson Silva did it, McGregor did it.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Did It's disgusting yea, yeah,
