Speaker 2 (00:48):
You know, the Philadelphia Eagles got this thing. They're just
not quite ever happy with being really good, which is
bizarre because you look around at other franchises in the
NFL O and it's like, man, I would take your
problem any day of the week, but in Philly there
seemingly always is an issue. And so you know, something

(01:11):
popped up after the game on Sunday, where they struggled
and nearly lost to the Carolina Panthers. I think they
were a thirteen point favorite going into that game. Everyone
just projected it to be a complete wipeout. You had
some burnout who bet three plus million dollars on Philly
to win the game, and of course that went public

(01:33):
because everybody's got a glorify. Hey, I spent all this money.
I bet all this money to win a game. It's like, dude,
like you got your problems. I got mine. I'm just
trying to win fifteen dollars on a parlay to be
able to pay for my kids Christmas. But the point
is it's gone. I don't know. But the point is,

(01:53):
you see, Philly have this problem stir Up in which
aj Brown basically calls out the passing games, specifically the quarterback.
And we talked about it on the show on Monday
and Brady was, hey, man, this is a problem. LeVar
said no, no, no, it's and all of that would have
been fine until Brandon Graham went on local radio in

(02:14):
Philly before the Monday night football game and basically just said, yeah,
they used to be friends, They're not friends anymore. One
is trying, but Eleven's not really trying. Pointing the finger
at Aj Brown versus Jalen hurts and it just spun
everything into complete chaos. We talked about it on the
show yesterday, so of course, you know, he's got to

(02:36):
do what he's got to do. And so Nick Sirianni,
the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, was on WIP
in Philly and tried to explain away the vibe there
in the locker room.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
You don't get to see it on a daily basis.
This is very similar to when people were asking me
about Jalen and I's relationship or whatever. It was like
all I can judge things on is what I see
on a daily basis. When I see, you know, Aj
and Jalen communicating about the game plan, eating lunch together

(03:10):
every single day, praying with each other before the game,
like and so like, there's gonna be speculation, and I
get it, you know, I get it, rightfully, So basically
what's happened the last couple of days, But I have
more information. I see them every single day. I see
what's going on in the building. I see so much
joy from this team, and there's you know, we can say, hey,

(03:31):
there's twenty twenty three bots. I see a lot of
twenty twenty two bytes.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
That was a small snippet of a three minute plus
answer that Nick Sirianni gave to the awkward vibe maybe
causing a problem in the locker room. And when it
takes three plus minutes to explain away, no man, listen.
It's just like there was such an easier way to
go about it and that didn't happen. The other issue is,

(03:59):
it's not like the report came out from some Joe
blow beat reporter who's got a bone to pick with
Philly because they took away his press credential because he
asked one too many questions about one of the fans
punching a police horse a couple of years ago after
the Super Bowl. No, no, like this was one of
the guys in the locker room, Brandon Graham, one of

(04:20):
the most respected guys in the locker room, not a
former player, not a guy who was there years ago
and is just trying to make a couple of bucks
locally there, like a current player, respected by everybody in
the organization who made the comments, and then he tried
to backtrack himself the next day. Sometimes you don't need

(04:42):
to hear somebody explain it away when the evidence is
already there. I got news for you, ladies. If you
get home from yoga class and you feel like something's
a little amiss in the house, you don't need to
hear somebody on the st tell you something. When the
dog walks in from out back and he's got a

(05:04):
pair of panties on his head, maybe that's kind of
a clue. Hey, he's in the house, he's here. There
should be something that should be discussed at some point, Dude,
Brandon Graham already told us what was going on. We
can try and explain it away all we want and
have the discussion about dad. Though, I get a vibe

(05:24):
that it's like this year. Oh you do interesting? Yeah,
I get a vibe okay the sweet Do you also
get a twenty seventeen vibe where you got some guy
eating horse crap off the ground after they won a
playoff game. You're getting that vibe too. What other vibes
are we getting there with Philadelphia vibe or not? Who cares?

(05:49):
Brandon Graham already spilled the beans. Yet they don't get along.
They don't like each other. They used to be friends.
They're not friends anymore. You know, we've got to put
you know, person stuff aside and just get back to business.
And then Sirianni comes out the next day and he's like, oh,
listen up, you guys don't see what I see. I
don't need to see what you said or what you see.

(06:11):
I don't need it. You can tell me whatever you
want to tell me. Brandon Graham is the guy who
let everybody know there's a problem. That's why everybody who
discussed it afterwards were dumbfounded by the comments, Wait, what
did you say? Like really like, there's been stuff that's

(06:33):
come out with the Eagles in the past couple of
years that, well, listen, that's a report. Who cares?

Speaker 3 (06:41):
What do they know?

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Guys there he's a player in the locker room kind
of like you know, is a big deal in the
whole scheme of things, in the whole discussion of things.
And so Sirianni wants to give some three minute answer,
like some verbal manifesto of all listen. Look, it's not
like that they're having lunch together. He went on to

(07:05):
talk about how they celebrate together on the sidelines it's like, okay, dude,
all right, Like, how about just hey, listen, a couple
of grown ups. We'll get through this. It's long season.
There's frustrations at times, but you know, we'll take care
of it, and any of that stuff, you know, we'll
clean up in house instead. He goes on this multi
minute conversation about the relationship with what it's like. It's like, no,

(07:29):
we already got the answers. All right. The dog walked
in from outback. He smelled like perfume and had somebody
else's panties on his head. I don't need to hear
anything from the neighbor. I don't need to hear anybody
from down the street. I don't need to hear anybody
from anybody that I associate with. Throughout the course of
the day, I got my answer. It was somebody from

(07:52):
inside the house, and they told me everything I needed
to know. Jonas Knox here, Fox Sports Radio, two Pros
and a Cup of Joe here on FSR. Now, I
was little story here. I was out to eat with
somebody the other night and they did something very interesting.
They ordered a burger with no bun because they were

(08:16):
watching their carbon take. And then they got dessert. What's
the point, you know what I mean? Like I mean,
like I mean, if you're just gonna go burger no
bun because you're watching your carbs, only to wash it

(08:37):
down with a brownie the size of somebody's head afterwards,
I just feel like, why don't you just get that?
Like what do we have in the conversation for? And
I say all that to say this, There was this
awkward exchange that went viral because ESPN's got another documentary
coming out this weekend, the New York Sack Exchange and

(08:57):
all that, and Mark gast O was on there and
he approached Brett Farv in an autograph signing back in
twenty twenty three and was upset about the fact that
he thinks Brett Fav took a dive to give Michael
Strahan the sack record, which was Mark Gastonos back in
the day, you know, like just another one of these
twenty plus year old beefs that are popping up nowadays.

(09:18):
Apparently that's the thing, and you know, he's having this
heated conversation, an awkward conversation and confrontation with Brett Farv,
and you know, afterwards, apparently Gastono's wife went up and
tried to smooth things over at far Farv took to
social media yesterday to try and downplay it, and I'm
watching all this play out, and I'm like, all right,

(09:41):
So his gripe is that Brett Farv took a dive
and so he no longer has the sack record. Doesn't TJ.
Watt also have a say in this because he just
tied the sack record a couple of years ago? So
my question is, what's the point, Like why is the

(10:06):
conversation even happening? And look, it's we know the medical
history of Mark Astino, we know Brett Farbes had some
medical stuff come up, and you know some other things
out there about a volleyball court, and you know, want
to get into all that because I don't want to
get sued personally. I don't know about you guys, it's
not my thing. But when TJ. Watt tied the record,

(10:27):
you know, this fraudulent record of Michael Strahan's that everybody
talks about, doesn't that kind of eliminate anything from the
discussion at that point? Like don't we kind of like,
don't you kind of cancel one thing out? Like if
you're going ay, I got to watch what I eat here.
I'd like to get a salad, no croutons, no cheese.

(10:48):
I'm gonna get a burger. I don't want fries, I
want no bun. And then what I'd like to do
is have you bring over a wheelbarrow full of brownie,
throw it on the table, and that way I feel
better about things. Dear God, it's good, I agree, Reverend,
but it doesn't make much sense. And what doesn't make
much sense is the fact that we're having an argument

(11:09):
about a sack record that was already tied by somebody else,
not even close to the conversation. Yet somebody wants to
get upset about the fact that it happened twenty years ago,
and Brett farre might have taken a dive. I just
at some point you got to look around at the
big picture and go, yeah, one thing kind of cancels

(11:30):
out the other, and the conversation's not really worth it.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
So when the discussion came out about Bill Belichick being
interested in the North Carolina job, I just thought that
it was all posturing. He's trying to let everybody know, like, hey,
I'm here. This media thing is fun. But I got
my goal set my eyes on coaching again. If I

(12:07):
got to throw out a college football rumor to try
and stir up some interest in the NFL and rattle
some cages, and that's what I gotta do. It's like, Okay,
it makes sense. I guess we've seen it before and
apparently not. Apparently this is a real thing now. Pete
Prisco yesterday alluded to the fact that part of the
allure for Belichick in North Carolina would be that he

(12:31):
would set up his son to take over after he
was gone, so he would be there for a short time.
Obviously age would be a factor as well too, and
that he would set up his son to take over
the gig after he left daddy.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
So.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Allie Connelly, who writes for The Guardian, had a report
that came out over the last couple of days confirming
the fact. According to sources, that Belichick's negotiations with North
Carolina include the garret that Steven Belichick's son will be
named the school's head coach in waiting. UNC's open to

(13:06):
the guarantee. Discussions are not a bid to gain leverage
for NFL offers, and Bill Belichick is open to the move.
He updated that and went on to say Belichick has
agreed to become the North Carolina coach. Belichick handed the
school a four hundred page quote organizational bible with structure,
payment plans, staffing choices, etc. Decisions on whether to commit

(13:28):
with UNC. He is expected to know their decision within
the next twenty four hours. Allie Connolly went on to
say Belichick's bible would require historic levels of investment from
the school, include salary minimums position by position, and willingness
to hire two staffs, a coaching staff run by Belichick
a recruitment staff run by a sitting college GM who

(13:51):
would require a buyout. Belichick has a college and pro
version of his updated manual and has shared it with
other schools and NFL teams, but he drafted a new
one specific to North Carolina that touched on every aspect
of the program, and school will need to sign off
from the athletic director. The chancellor, the trustees and boosters.

(14:12):
There's already been pushback from the group of thirteen trustees
with input from a wider faculty. The investment would overhaul
the school's approach to football. Belichick unsure if the school
will meet his demands and is unwilling to negotiate again.
That from Allie Connolly, who's been covering this for The Guardian.
When it comes to Belichick's real interest in the North

(14:34):
Carolina gig, all right, I thought it was just smoke
that he wasn't actually interested in the job. I was
under the impression that Belichick looked at the opportunity to
be the all time wins leader in the NFL as

(14:54):
a goal that he would want, and you would assume
if he takes this job, it's probably a two year
deal at least based on his age. Before his son
comes in, he establishes the program, gets them rolling. I
don't know where he's at at that point in his life.
I don't know where he's at in that point in
his desire to go back to the NFL. But all
of a sudden, you're looking at Okay, this is being

(15:16):
pushed down the road, and we're kicking the can down
the road on him trying to pursue the record. I
guess this is a real thing. I guess Belichick looks
at the opportunity to build the college program and thinks,
I'll bet I could do that. I'll just go and reverse.
You'll see coaches go from college to the NFL. I've
never coached at the college level. I'll go back and

(15:40):
I'll get that done. My favorite part about this whole report, though,
is the quote unquote pushback from North Carolina. That's my favorite.
You know, like North Carolina. You know, because when you
think powerhouse, blue blood football program and you think like

(16:00):
college football playoff team, you think North Carolina. No, you
probably don't at all. In fact, when you think North Carolina,
let's just be honest here, you think basketball school. Like
that's like, I'm sorry that it is what it is.

(16:21):
So when I look at the pushback from North Carolina
saying no, no, no, no, no. That guy is gonna
come in here and tell us how we're going to
do things now. Now, not gonna happen, not on our watch.
That's like walking by a homeless encampment and somebody pops
out from under a tent. He's got two different pairs
of shoes on and holes in his dickies, and he

(16:42):
looks at you and goes, hey, dude, here's a few bucks.
Clean up your act. Excuse you? Who are you like
you're dictating to me? What like North Carolina is telling Belichick? Nah? Listen, nah, no, Hey,

(17:02):
I know we were six and six this past year,
all right, I know that we haven't sniffed a national
title and you know forever, but we're not going to
take any sort of adjustment to what our plan is
and what our structure is, especially from you. And you
get people to say, what is Belichick? No, He's never
coached at the college level. Belichick's one of his best

(17:27):
friends in the world is Nick Saban. You ever heard
of that name? You know, the greatest coach to ever
do it at the college level, one of his best friends.
Like you don't think Belichick has had conversations with Saban about, Hey,
what went wrong for you? What didn't you like? And

(17:49):
if you could do it all over again, if you
had any interest, how would you do it? The guy
put together in this quote unquote and presented it to
the school, custom made for North Carolina, And yet you
got people there that are pushing Oh listen, No, no,
there's pushback. We're not sure about all this stuff. No,

(18:12):
if somebody like that offers up an idea on how
to put the program back on the map, you listen
to that somebody. It's like when the Falcons and other
teams were pushing back on Belichick. All well, you know
his input in the organization, his input. Look at how
things ended in New England. Okay, look how things went.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
Like.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
You don't think you would want that guy's input on
some of this stuff. So when you see North Carolina, well,
we're pushing back. We're not sure if this is the
best idea for our program. Okay, so just go six
and six again. And apparently, by the way, the dismissal
of Mac Brown and how that all went, apparently that
didn't go all that smooth either. But don't worry about it, everybody,

(19:00):
North Carolina's got it. Figure it out. Bum pops, bum
pops out from under a tent. Ay Man, what's with
the outfit? Dude? You're wearing trash bags and Halloween decorations
in public and pushing a card around with aluminum cans
inside of it. Don't worry about what I'm driving in

(19:23):
my presentation in public. Okay, you got your own issues,
Like if he's got any interest and ideas on how
to get better, listen to him. And Nick Saban, his
good friend, was very upfront about this whole thing when
he left Alabama and told everybody this is why I left.

(19:45):
I didn't like this. I didn't like that. Dude, Like,
of course he's going to have a discussion with him.
He's talked with You don't think he's got strategy. You
don't think he's got like this whole thing. Like, hey man,
I've been doing my do diligence. I've been around it.
It's not like Belichick's one of those guys who shows
up to his media gig ten minutes before with no

(20:09):
prep and walks in and says, all right, so what
are we talking about. He puts the time in, like
he researches this stuff, He studies this stuff. The fact
that he's interested in the gig and the people like
you know that it's a potential gateway for his son,
who he's trying to build a program. And look, we

(20:31):
talked about it last week with Albert Breer, and Breer
said it best. He's like no, he really thinks that
if there's any time to get into the college game
to where it looks as close to the NFL game
that it's ever been, now's the time. And so if
he sees that as a better opportunity for him, for

(20:51):
his son, and he likes the structure, yeah, like here,
here's here's what I'm putting together for you, guys. This
is what I'm willing to accept if you'll look except me,
and you got people there at North Carolina like, nah,
hold on, no, whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa
whoa whoa whoa Hold on a second here? Nah no, No,

(21:12):
It's like it's like the falcons telling him, no, listen,
we're not we're not sure whether or not you'd be
a good fit for us. Okay, Oh you're not sure,
all right, Okay, Well I'm not sure you're a good
fit for a twenty five point lead in the super
Bowl either, So okay, but all right, you're not sure. Neat.

(21:33):
It's like me standing over my mechanic shoulder, going now,
man put that there. He looks back at me and goes,
did you get the hell out of here? What hell
do you know? So look, I'm still skeptical. I think
he ends up back in the NFL. There's some odds
that have come out to where North Carolina is the
favorite to be where Belichick coach is next a slight favorite,

(21:55):
and then you've got, you know, the Jacksonville Jaguars that
could be in the mix, and I think that would
make a little bit more sense to me. I'm a
little skeptical, but the fact that he's presented this and
is just waiting for North Carolina to accept the terms
and conditions of the deal ought to tell you this
is no joke. Guy's done his research, He's looked into it,

(22:16):
and this is a real possibility of happening, even though
I dismissed it from the from the get go. Jonas
NOx here Fox Sports Radio two Pros and a cup
of Joe here on FSR. By the way, we do
have a quick update here, lead to lap Our executive
producer brought this to our attention in another edition of
In case you missed it last Hour, So we did
want to get to the bottom of this because this

(22:37):
is important stuff here. Hey, Lee, Chris wrote in and said,
you do know Joe Burrow and his girl broke up
in the offseason, right.

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Yeah, but they've been on again, off again for their
entire relationship.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Now you're probably wondering why Joe Burrow's girlfriend has made
an appearance on the show here, And it's not because
we needed to fill the seat because Brady and LeVar
didn't show up. It's because apparently Joe Burrow's house got
broken into during Monday night football and the person who
called in the report just happens to be an SI
swimsuit model. Is that the correct the correct credential? Yeah,

(23:17):
who you know is a quote unquote employee of Joe Burrow.
And so we were speculating, you know, if Joe Burrow's
got a girlfriend, that's an interesting way for her to
find out that he's, you know, mowing somebody else's lawn.
So I'm just, yeah, I'm just trying to get to
the bottom of this. So Lee, do we do we
know for sure whether or not Joe Burrow did break

(23:38):
up with her in the off season or what. It
is a story that they did break up, that it
is correct.

Speaker 5 (23:44):
It's been rumored whether or not they got back together,
but officially they are broken up. Officially, Well, I don't know,
hope officially anything, but uh he I don't think he's
officially dating anybody right now.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
By the way, if I called my wife my employee,
like she would wrap a mag light around the bridge
of my nose when I got home, like there wouldn't
even like there's not even a discussion. I walk in,
I get cursed out in Spanish, and then I've got
to wear a flashlight across my face if that's the case.
So hey, listen, Joe Burrow, godspeed man. I hope you

(24:20):
figure that out. And for you dead ends that are
out there breaking into athletes homes where they're playing games,
get a life, man. And if you're upset about what
happened in Fantasy Football draft better or do you think
I'm not in the playoffs in my league this year?

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific here.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
To try and calm down the chaos like he does
every single Wednesday morning here on the show. He is
Petros Papadakis. He is the co host of The Petros
and Money Show, which you can hear on the blowtorch
AM five seventy LA Sports, Fox, College Football Analyt and
our Good Pal here that you can get them on
X at the Old p Petro's good morning. How are

(25:05):
we feeling?

Speaker 3 (25:07):
Good morning, Jonas, how are you? Hello? Hello? Hello everybody.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
By the way, I was thinking about you the other night.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
Where is everybody? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
I'll be honest with you. I have no idea. I
don't know. All right, Yeah, I mean listen, you know
they're they're just off. So we're doing it here.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
No no is an answer. I'll take it.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
Yeah. So, Uh, the reason I was thinking about you
the other night, I had something called and tell me
if I'm pronouncing this correctly, tiro caf terry or tiri
tiro kaf tiri. It's a it's a Greek dish, an appetizer.
I'd never really heard it before. It's a spicy feta dip.

(25:49):
I guess, and people have told me that's like a
very popular dish. I guess. I don't know if is
like a it's.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Like a meat ball. What do you what do you want?

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Well, I'm just asking you, like, is that is that
you're just.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
Like trying to mispronounce something.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
No, I'm really not. I don't know. I don't know
how about that.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
That's fine that you don't need to ask me about
Greek food.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Okay, why are you in a bad mood?

Speaker 3 (26:10):
What happened?

Speaker 6 (26:10):
I'm sorry. I was just ripped from the bed. My
alarm didn't go off, that's all right.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
No, and then the lead de lap panic call game.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
But that's all right, i'd be here, okay, all right?

Speaker 3 (26:23):
So where did you go to eat Greek food?

Speaker 2 (26:25):
I don't know. Someplace around the court from the house.
I didn't know the name of it. To be honest
with you.

Speaker 6 (26:29):
Okack it up to go, But well, really, well researched
topic to get into.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Well, you're I'm just letting you know, like I had it.
I was thinking about you. You were on my mind,
so I was letting you know, man, like I'm out
there trying to support the support the Brandy. I'm sorry,
I'm all right. So that being said, speaking of people
that are in a bad mood, I am I right now?
Did you get it? Did you find it comical to
see Yankees fans get upset about Wan Soda leaving to

(26:56):
go to the Mets earlier this week, Like.

Speaker 6 (26:59):
Is it true that like somebody kicked out a member
of his family and he got all upset.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Yeah, I saw that there was.

Speaker 6 (27:07):
Like a couple reports where like he's his family, like
his people had some trouble within the stadium this year
and it upset him.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
Maybe it was just an unfounded rumor.

Speaker 6 (27:21):
But then I saw that other guy that used to
be in that show NYPD Blue.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
Oh yeah, yeah, he used to be young.

Speaker 6 (27:29):
He still looks young, but he's like an old guy now.
He's like a little New york yappie terrier type and
he's very upset. He mentioned something like that that something happened,
So maybe it was like that. I mean, didn't that
happen with Many Ramirez years ago with the Red Sox.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Oh he beat up like one a travel agent or somebody,
like he choke.

Speaker 6 (27:53):
Their travel secretary to the ground and ended up a dodger,
And everybody on the West Coast was.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Like, oh, who cares, it's great, look at this we got.

Speaker 6 (28:04):
And that was like some bad blood with the Red Sox,
And I guess maybe it happened with the Sodo thing.
But it's the longest and most lucrative contract in the
history of baseball. Right, I just and the Mets got it.
The guy wanted to make sure he landed. He finally

(28:26):
was able to harpoon his big fish. Right, he missed
with Otawni he missed with anybody else. They've been trying
to get the big names. And maybe Sodo didn't want
to be the second fiddle to Aaron Judge. But yes,
Yankee fans are upset, the joyless mailbox heads that they are,

(28:47):
and that's okay. I also heard that the Aaron Judge
ball that he dropped from Tommy Edmonds.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Oh yeah, right, that.

Speaker 6 (29:01):
Ended up facilitating the Dodgers rally to clinch the World Series.
If they lose that one, they got to go back
to La and Garrett Cole's got a pitch and who
knows what happens. That ball is now up for auction.
The MLB is putting it up for auction because it's

(29:22):
their ball. Now, Otani's fiftieth home run in his legendary
fifty to fifty season.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
Do you know how much that went for an auction?

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Half mil four and.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
A half million dollars?

Speaker 6 (29:37):
Jesus, so you overbid the price, is right, you're out,
son of a bitch overbid And you know how much
the Freddy Freeman ball went for.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Oh that's what I was thinking of, was that like
three hundred thousand.

Speaker 6 (29:52):
That's like four hundred thousand, which you'd think with that
one would be more iconic than the Otani ball.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
But Freddy Freeman's not a enough okay.

Speaker 6 (30:02):
I mean, I just I think there's such a market
for this in Japan, and there's such a huge market
for Otani.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
How much right now? The bit right now? The bidding in.

Speaker 6 (30:15):
According to the La Times yesterday, the bidding for the
ball that Aaron Judge dropped in the World Series is
like at twelve thousands.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Like who wants that? Like why, what's the significance of that?
You know, although you know, probably a smart ass Dodger
fan would been on that.

Speaker 6 (30:31):
Just to have it, well somebody, I mean that has
ancillary funds. But yeah, there's a lot of feelings involved.
But I still think it's great that we had Dodgers
Yankees in the World Series, yes, and that they're now
you know, going back and forth east coast West coast
trying to load up on players. I mean, if you're
like a pirates fan, You're sitting there like, what the hell,

(30:52):
what do we do? But but yeah, the hot stove
is hot, and it's something to talk about this time.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
I do think when people are to try to justify
the contract, like with Otani's deal, by the halfway point
of the season, he had already like they'd already almost
made their money back, just from a value standpoint, like
the business he brought, the interest he brought dude seven
hundred and sixty five million just to play for the
other team in New York. It just does like Otani

(31:19):
was playing with the Angels for years and all he
did was drive up what an hour in traffic, And
it's a completely different conversation than what it was when
he was playing an Anaheim.

Speaker 6 (31:30):
Do you think that they're not going to sell like
one Soto happy feet shoes or anything like?

Speaker 3 (31:36):
You don't think that.

Speaker 6 (31:38):
Thousands of bus loads of people are going to come
to the Mets clubhouse store to buy like a special
one Soto T shirt?

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Oh yeah, for sixty five dollars.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
I mean everything's going up in price there at those
games now.

Speaker 6 (31:54):
Well, I mean that's what happened with the Dodgers with Otani.
I mean everything's always going up price at Dodger Stadium,
but and people pay it happily, it seems. But when
Otani showed up with the Dodgers, all of a sudden,
every third kiosk is is Japanese food.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
I mean, it is true.

Speaker 6 (32:16):
And the other more remarkable thing is much like the
outlet malls here in California.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
I'm sure there are other places.

Speaker 6 (32:26):
Bus loads of Japanese tourists, bus loads two or three
a day come up to the Clubhouse store for the Dodgers,
and those people get out and they buy three hundred
dollars O TWI jerseys on Otani T shirt jersey at
Dodger Stadium designed by mister Cartoon.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
It's sixty five dollars.

Speaker 6 (32:52):
So I think you're right the amount of money the
Dodgers are making marketing for Otani. And they're probably going
to get this other Japanese pitcher, Roki Sasaki. They have Yamamoto.
They're opening the season next year, this year, this coming
season in Japan. So they seem to be way ahead

(33:14):
of everybody in far as far as marketing goes.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Now, are you and Matt Moonie Smith going to be
out for that game in Japan to go see it.
Why not? They wouldn't send you on remote to that game?
Why not?

Speaker 3 (33:23):
No, I'm not going. No, No, there's been no talk
of it.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
You do bring up a good point, though, because, as
somebody who's been a frequent guest or visitor to the
Camerio outlets here in southern California and the Hato five
in Ventura County, I swear to God there's some days
that I've been there where I'm the only person that
speaks English.

Speaker 6 (33:42):
Well yeah, I mean that's how it is in the
desert too. Why well, it's a destination. You come to
America and you shop, and you go to the outlet malls,
and you go.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
To South Coast Plaza.

Speaker 6 (33:54):
You know, if you're in California, you go to Rodeo Drive,
you go to all these places. It's something people doing
in Vegas, a lot of a lot of foreign tourists
doing in Vegas.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
It's just something you're gonna have to accept.

Speaker 6 (34:10):
But they also do it at the Dodgers and there
is no discount, there's no outlet for the Dodger gear.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
It's quite expensive. So yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 6 (34:22):
Maybe it's a pissing contest with the owner Cohen Guy.
The one thing about the Dodgers, people don't realize it's
like they're run by a hedge fund in Chicago and
they never run out of money. And that's why they
sign whoever they want. That's why they're the evil Empire.
But I don't think they have the highest payroll. But
and they don't win every year. I mean last year

(34:43):
was the first Real World Series they'd won since nineteen
eighty eight. So there's a lot of excitement in town.
And yes, Asian tourists love outlet shopping.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Petris Babadag is joining us here on Fox Sports Radio,
co host of the Petros and Money Show, Fox College
Football Analysts and Fox College Football Analysts. So you would
be somebody who would have a thought on this, the
twelve team college football Playoff. Is there a gripe that
you have with it? Or is this just kind of
let's wait and see if it even works or how
entertaining it is, and then we'll.

Speaker 6 (35:14):
Assess, well what specifically, like the twelve games is cool?
Like we need to expand to fourteen so it makes
more sense.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
I guess the non reseting after the first round I
don't think makes sense. In any playoff format that I'm
not crazy about. But the fact that we're going to
get home playoff games to start this off in places
where they've never seen a game played this late. I
look at that and I go, that's fantastic. As somebody
who's talked about just the atmosphere at a college game

(35:47):
and how much better it is in an NFL game,
I can't imagine what those atmospheres are going to be
like for a playoff game at home.

Speaker 6 (35:54):
Well, I think it's going to be cool, because it's unknown.
There's a lot Like college football in general, there's a
lot of flaws. Number one, as we've discussed, we don't
need a committee. Number two, we need uniformity desperately. We
need everybody to play the same amount of conference games,

(36:15):
and we cannot have Cupcake Week in November anymore when
everybody else is playing conference games. And that's specifically about
the SEC and the ACC. And if we have that,
we don't need to waste money to put these people
up in the four seasons and put a bunch of
TVs up and act like they know what they're talking about.

(36:38):
I think they did a pretty good job as far
as leaving Alabama out and putting SMU in, showing that
they're not going to be just complete label whorees speaking
of outlet shopping. But at the same time, there's a
lot to look forward to. There's a lot to be

(37:00):
excited about. I don't think that what people thought was
gonna happen was which was like, oh my god, they're
gonna water it down and no one's gonna care who
number thirteen?

Speaker 3 (37:12):
You know, people care.

Speaker 6 (37:14):
There's still a gigantic argument, there's still fan bases up
in arms, and like you said.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
A lot of people.

Speaker 6 (37:24):
UNLV Army, SMU, their opponents Miami, a lot of teams
down the stretch. We're playing really meaningful football in November
that normally would not be Now either way, I have
to show up and call whatever game. If it's two,

(37:46):
three and five teams, we show up and do it.
But for everybody to have that as the season goes
on and the implications really kind of having a long
run type of ability, I think it made it for
a more compelling season in a lot of ways. But
there was a lot also a lot of unknown Like

(38:09):
Indiana was picked last in the ESPN poll in the
Big ten, and there's eighteen teams in the Big Ten
and they're in the playoff. Arizona State was picked last
in the Big twelve and they're in the playoff. So

(38:30):
that weird kind of unknown who were playing? What's it
going to be?

Speaker 3 (38:33):
Like?

Speaker 6 (38:35):
It made it interesting And now the whole state of
Indiana is on fire.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
Oh yeah, because.

Speaker 6 (38:40):
Notre Dame and the Hoosiers are going to play, and
Perdue hired a great coach in Barry Otam. So interesting times.
And yeah, I think it's compelling and fun. I hate
the fact that ESPN owns it all and I have
to watch herb Street stroke his other dog. I thought
we were going to be done with the dog and
the dom tow, and all of a sudden, now there's

(39:02):
another dog. It's like, whatever happened in naming the dog
for Fidoh what's this naming the dog people's names?

Speaker 3 (39:09):
Oh it's Peter anyway.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
But yeah, it's funny about the Arizona State conversation.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
I remember we'd rather.

Speaker 6 (39:18):
Watch horsehead Brady Quinn go sit there and watch hearm
Street stroke his dog.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
I remember, like before the season, there was a discussion about,
you know, ranking the Big twelve coaches and Dion Sanders
was all upset because he was ranked second to last
in a preseason poll and he like took it to tad,
took CBS to task and all that. And the guy
who was ranked last was Kenny Dillingham.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
Yeah, and he used it. He used it with his team.

Speaker 6 (39:46):
I mean I had Arizona State's very first game this year,
and I told you guys about Cam Scatabilly. Yeah, last year,
the transfer from Sacramento State, and everybody's activated.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
By the way, Scataby's a big win for us Petros.
The white running back is back.

Speaker 6 (40:02):
Oh, the white running back has been back for years.
It just wasn't back when I was playing in the nineties.
But it is interesting because I had Arizona State's first game,
and I thought Wyoming was a much better team, you know,
in the preseason, and Arizona State just absolutely destroyed them
and then ended up looking similarly as the year went on.

Speaker 3 (40:23):
I mean, they were awesome.

Speaker 6 (40:25):
And the one thing I saw watching them in camp
and stuff was Kenny Dillingham would stop everything and bring
everybody in and be like, guys, we're picked worse than
the Big twelve. You guys are the worst team. You
guys suck. You know he was able to. Really, I mean,
you got to give that guy credit. He's the coach
of the year. Old cigarette face. Signetti droogled me as

(40:48):
the coach of the year. And there's one more coach
of the year. Signetti.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
Dillingham smu oh Lincoln Riley. Oh my bad, Yeah, yeah
it was Lincoln Riley. I think he got the nod.
Where does before we let you go, where does Ashton
gent rank amongst players you've gotten to cover since you've
been calling games.

Speaker 6 (41:10):
He's the best running back I've seen since McCaffrey. Different
running back, but he's the best running I with all
respect to Travis Hunter, who's been spectacular playing both ways.
And I'm biased because I'm an old running back. But
if a running back goes for over two thousand yards,

(41:31):
and I don't care if he's in the non Power
four or whatever, I know the teams that he played against.
He almost had two hundred yards against Oregon and dominated
that game. And look at how the other running backs
have fared against them, especially at Oddson. He's just not tackleable.

(41:51):
He finds a way to get through people. And then
the thing that's really impressive is like the long form
speed down the field where you think he's got to
get caught. A lot of these short legged, sort of
boxy running backs do, but he doesn't. He finishes all
these long, fifty sixty seventy yard runs absolutely spectacular. And

(42:15):
as the running back becomes more popular in the NFL
because of the shell too high safety looks and stuff
like that, that is becoming more prevalent. I hope he's
a high draft pick and I hope he gets paid
because he's been a great, absolutely model young man.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
I've seen somebody's got him as a top ten pick
potentially in the draft.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
I hope it's I hope it's true.

Speaker 6 (42:38):
I mean, people, if everybody that was projected in the
first round went in the first round, the first round
would have five hundred picks in it, right, Yeah, So
but I hope he does. I hope he does. I
think he's I think he's worked his way to that.
He's a fabulous young guy and I can't can't say
enough good thing. I can't believe he didn't start the

(43:00):
first three years. He was there for two years, but whatever.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
No, he's written really fun to watch. Gets an invite to,
you know, to New York to potentially win the Heisman,
although it'll probably go to Travis Hunter based on the
odds that are out there. But he is the old
Pe Petros Papadekas. You can get him on X at
the Old Pe The Coast of the Petros and Money Show,
which you get on the Blowtorch AM five to seventy
LA Sports Fox College Football Analyst, P. Thanks so much,

(43:24):
we appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (43:25):
Do next week.

Speaker 6 (43:26):
Sorry I sent you talking about yourself with the Eagles
for a couple of minutes.

Speaker 3 (43:29):
No, I came through. I came through.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
Yeah, I know you're great. Listen, all good gots covered there.
He is the great Petros Papadakas with us here on
