And one person in particular.
Speaker 6 (00:57):
Can I also say this, It happened again, boys, it

Speaker 5 (01:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:22):
I will not say what prominent figures at Fox I saw.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
I will not say.
Speaker 6 (01:28):
I would imagine if you two guests which I would
neither confirm nor deny who it was, I saw getting
out at SUV looking like they were ending their night,
you would probably be able to guess.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Oh, as you were heading in.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
As I was walking out of the hotel, they were
coming in and I was like, damn, it happened again.
Speaker 6 (01:50):
Nice, this is like Vegas all over the radio or No,
you can guess the people who are well TV. Of
all the people who are part of Fox, you'd be like,
all right, but yeah, oh Hotcho Shady. Damn those the
first two you went with. Yeah, I haven't seen Shady yet.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
I'll put this.
Speaker 6 (02:11):
We have seen one of them together and the other
one I don't know that we've seen together yet.
Speaker 5 (02:23):
Michael Irving.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
And he.
Speaker 5 (02:32):
Michael Irving is a Hall of Famer.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
He is a Hall of Famer. Gold Jacket.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Went and checked out the place. Lucy's retired surf bar
of the Petrouss recommend.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
Yeah, great spot for beers and sandwiches.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Right, maybe the best shrimp talk I've ever had in
my life.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
Didn't think I was gonna hear that.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Yeah, outstanding, cool, outstanding spot. Lee was hit on by
a what a drug addict? Who was he was?
Speaker 4 (03:01):
He was?
Speaker 3 (03:02):
He was a big fan of Lee. I don't I
don't remember his name. I just the guy was trying
to convince us that he was.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
Drug addicts and drug dealers, big fans of people he was.
Speaker 6 (03:15):
It's like you're either their customer or you're their friends,
the recruitment or both.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (03:20):
Yeah, well you were a great wingman, Jonas. Every time
I got out of the conversation, you made sure that,
uh to.
Speaker 8 (03:27):
Keep that Jonahs clearly was not a great wing MANE. No, well,
and he's not a great.
Speaker 9 (03:34):
Brady he was. He dropped your name quite a bit,
uh not.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
You know, he asked what my name was. I said Brady.
Because he tried to tell my name. I said, my
name is Brady. I didn't get a last You're.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
So weeny, like no one would think that. And I
can't grow the face.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Ear you can grow, I didn't say Quinn.
Speaker 8 (03:49):
Somebody said you look like Ryan Day with a skin
of your face.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
I already told you look like rich Davis.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
You and Richard Damn.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
Yeah, oh Angria to day Davis. Hi, and then.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Thank you righty, look it up. I just at the
facial structure of the beards like they look.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Very whoa and we uh, you know we This is
where we talk about there are two different worlds and
lives that are being led. And there was a point
at I forget the cross street, but near the casino
where I headed back to go buy something from my
son and Lee went to the French Quarter by the
(04:34):
way at a quarter to three and three pm. Yeah,
and what happened after that only Leo's I'm not you're
with them. I'm not sure what he wants me to share.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
We were with him last night, I was, I saw
you after that.
Speaker 8 (04:51):
I need I need to hear the story. The world
needs to hear the story. Lead the lap clearly is
a part of the storyline of what takes place here
at the super Bowl and in every other show we do.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
We need to hear the details.
Speaker 7 (05:08):
The deeps Lee, Well, we kicked it off with a
shark attack.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
From there, you go, that's a good start.
Speaker 8 (05:15):
You gotta get one of those Okay, what's a shark
attacks attack?
Speaker 7 (05:18):
Well, they it's basically vodka gin and then they fill
up a shark, a plastic shark with cranberry juice.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
That sounds.
Speaker 9 (05:27):
And then they stuffed that plastic shark into your drink.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
They stuffed the plastic shark into your.
Speaker 9 (05:33):
What into your drink?
Speaker 4 (05:34):
How is that? Like? What are you talking about?
Speaker 9 (05:36):
So it looks like blood, So it looks like there's
a shark attack.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
That's cool. I like that.
Speaker 8 (05:41):
Okay, all right, so I drank that How much alcohol
you think was in that one?
Speaker 4 (05:46):
Good amount?
Speaker 9 (05:46):
It's kind of it's right there next to the hurricane.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
It's right there next to it.
Speaker 9 (05:50):
On the yeah, on the on the list on the cocktail.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
Right then, what did you do after that?
Speaker 8 (05:54):
Lee?
Speaker 9 (05:54):
We checked out the casino, just did a roundabout there.
Speaker 8 (05:57):
You did you touch any Oh, you had your drink
your head with that time out.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
You forgot about the two j mo O shots you
did right after that shark, which I trust your story.
Speaker 9 (06:07):
Lee, Well, I did forget about that.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
Those were forgot about that.
Speaker 9 (06:10):
I didn't order those.
Speaker 7 (06:11):
Those were gifted to us by your friend the bartender,
and you wouldn't drink them.
Speaker 9 (06:15):
Also, So I had to drink.
Speaker 10 (06:17):
Which is about right, A little weany like that?
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Also, well professional, we have work, so oh gos so
you're some people live different lives. I don't know to
gosh if you didn't have any drinks last night. We
had drinks, but took care of myself. Now, okay, here's
here's now here's the other party.
Speaker 9 (06:37):
I am here.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Lee Boy Lee walked down the elevator at one o'clock
with a tall boy of Miller light already.
Speaker 6 (06:46):
Yeah, yeah, well it's not gonna do anything to Lee.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Okay. That that was the.
Speaker 9 (06:53):
That's what I called my nightstand. That was that was
sitting on the night stand from from the night before.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Some people have a glass of water.
Speaker 8 (07:00):
So it wasn't a fool tally. It was like it
was left over. It was like a third of a
tall yeah, warm beer with backwash.
Speaker 6 (07:07):
All right, let's catch back up there after three fans like,
how the hell did we get here?
Speaker 9 (07:12):
Well, so I had a great time.
Speaker 7 (07:13):
I walked the quarter, I did the Historic District, the
a bunch of different districts.
Speaker 9 (07:18):
I went to Jackson Park.
Speaker 6 (07:20):
You didn't do a good job documenting it, Like we
were getting videos throughout the day yeah, at.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
One point you were tapping a pony and you were laughing.
Speaker 7 (07:28):
Yes, yeah, I saw, well, we saw the Clydesdale's getting
shipped into the first time.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
Again. It started with the pony.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
There was a little the clydes a whole bunch of policemen.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
But Lee was giggling with the pony and the Clydesdale
comes by. He goes hell yeah yeah like cheer was.
Speaker 9 (07:46):
Like yeah, and I had I had a hand grenade
in my hand at that time.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Yeah, that was part of the problem.
Speaker 7 (07:54):
So yeah, and Jonas actually saw the Clydesdales getting uh
escorted into town by the police.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Yeah, and horses, ma, yeah they are, Yeah they were.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
But you saw them right there in front of you,
and you were excited about it. Yeah. Yeah, because it
was out.
Speaker 7 (08:11):
They were getting their fresh air, they were stretching their
legs and yeah, they had gotten out of the trucks
and uh getting paraded around the French quarter.
Speaker 9 (08:17):
So I saw that was very excited.
Speaker 7 (08:20):
I'd probably had about a two three hour walk about
just town before I even went into a bar. I
found a good place called the Spotted Cat, where I
watched some jazz and then made my way back to Bourbon.
I hadn't gotten to Bourbon Street yet. Bourbon is where
it went bad. It went bad.
Speaker 9 (08:37):
That's where I met it with Jonas.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
Yeah yeah, So Jonas turns on his wing man, you
know his role. He turns that on. Right.
Speaker 7 (08:48):
I think I had hit up p Obs and Tropical
right before Jonas showed up.
Speaker 8 (08:53):
So I had the hand grenade I had.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
All right, you're thinking about the paddle Brian used to
work at Fox Sports radios.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
What you're thinking about, Well, I gat man.
Speaker 9 (09:05):
Yeah, great guy, I called and called it.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
Oh yeah, okay, teacher. Uh but all right, so you
uh we start walking around and at some point story
is boring, Okay, fast forward.
Speaker 8 (09:20):
I want the deats. I tell him, oh no, there's
the laugh.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
I tell him we've got to eat all we need
be like, when's the last time you ate? It was
at the Lucy's Bar whatever. We go to this place
and they've got oysters. Like he's by the way, he's mangled.
We sit at the bar, they've got oysters. I'm like,
you know, just get some pasta whatever, it'll fill you up.
He's about halfway through his pasta and decides his body
(09:48):
just says yeah, We've had about enough here.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
And next thing you know, he's falling asleep and.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
His food is being pushed off the edge of the
bar and the guy who the guy who was left, goes,
are you off your mat?
Speaker 2 (10:02):
It's someboddy, are you off your bed? The guy who
is left is like you all right, man.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
I'm like, all right, Lee, we got it.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
We gotta get out of here.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
So so we, uh, we get out of there.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
I'm like, all right, I got an uber. Let's go.
We go. We get this uber and it's.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
We're walking down the street and I'm all, we got
to walk up there and grab it. So we walk
up to get the uber and we get in and
I FaceTime my wife and I'm talking to her my son,
and I know you.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Hate that, like because you're not to drop it. It's unnecessary.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Well, it's a detailed to the story. And if you
want the story, I'm giving you the detail of the story.
I mean, like, there's nothing.
Speaker 6 (10:46):
Wrong with you just trying to paint the picture that
you were distracted leave being a family man.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
It's creating a contrast to the story. It's called storytelling.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
So the defense.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Don't worry. I'll teach you guys about it later.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
So we're in the We're in the Uber and I
look over to Lee and He's got his shirt on
his head, and I'm like, what is going on?
Speaker 4 (11:10):
And I look underneath.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
There's blood coming down. I'm all, what happened?
Speaker 3 (11:15):
And he's he pulls his shirt down and somewhere along
the walk from to the Uber.
Speaker 8 (11:23):
No, you walked. He was trying to catch you wing man.
The wingman left and departed for the Uber. Lee panicked.
Lee panicked because he thought you were getting away from him,
and he ran. He starts to run. Jonas didn't even
(11:44):
know that we weren't running.
Speaker 6 (11:46):
This is the part where Jonas tells a story where
he thinks his opinion matters or his perspective doesn't.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
What did you say?
Speaker 5 (11:58):
I like, why?
Speaker 4 (12:00):
Why? Were first? Off? I was why was there disconnect
between you and Jonas?
Speaker 9 (12:03):
I was trailing behind why? I forget why? But I
was trailing behind. I just see Jonas kind of way
up ahead. I know we were getting a new burg.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
I was like, oh, did he walk away from you
or did you? Were you just like staring off.
Speaker 9 (12:13):
I was probably distracted by.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
Something, all right, like Clydesdale's probably yeah.
Speaker 7 (12:17):
And I knew I did Classdale, and I was crossing
the street, was running across.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
The he twinkled toe, he twinkled. Those curves were like
at least are high.
Speaker 5 (12:29):
Yeah, yeah, high curve.
Speaker 9 (12:31):
I caught the curb.
Speaker 5 (12:33):
You definitely caught the curb caught you.
Speaker 9 (12:35):
Curb caught me.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
I got a bit so you went down.
Speaker 8 (12:41):
Now, where are the injuries, Lee, Let's pinpoint the injuries.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
You got a scary hit?
Speaker 6 (12:47):
Your like, how your arms not like catch you because
you fell forward.
Speaker 9 (12:51):
My arm, my arm is uh, my left arm is
banged up.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
But I'm saying like you got a scarecrow.
Speaker 6 (12:56):
Now, were you passing out while you're finger every one
out there?
Speaker 8 (13:00):
If if you were wondering what the mental visual of
Lee's face, his nose looks like the scarecrows?
Speaker 4 (13:09):
Are you sure you get punched in the face?
Speaker 10 (13:10):
You hit your face?
Speaker 9 (13:12):
Yeah, I hit my face.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
It looks like you might have got hit in the face.
Speaker 5 (13:15):
That's what I thought.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
Take your hat showing.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
Your head, Lee, let me see your head showing the head.
Sure somebody like hits you and you didn't drop.
Speaker 9 (13:25):
I mean that could have happened.
Speaker 6 (13:26):
Because I'm saying, is how do you fall forward and
not catch yourself with your arm.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
There's no way tire face. Look at his nose that
is that is clearly a slide. He's slid. Chance you
just hit it. He bit it.
Speaker 9 (13:39):
I was running full speed.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
I know what that that. That's the way we've seen
his full speed. He's got a little gido, he's got.
Speaker 5 (13:44):
Some get ups, and he's slid because that's that's what
you do.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
I was in shock, but you didn't see him from no,
because the amount of time between getting in the uber
and when he walked in was holding a shirt over
his head with blood coming out, was so small that
I couldn't figure out how did that happen?
Speaker 4 (14:02):
Was I just saw you?
Speaker 6 (14:03):
You didn't notice that your wingman? He was But that's
why he was running. Listen, we're not talking about multiple
blocks away. We're talking about right around the corner.
Speaker 8 (14:12):
And I mean he couldn't see you, bro, he was
trying to catch up to you.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
Like he panicked. That's what that was. Lee. Did you pan?
Speaker 6 (14:19):
I hope did you panic? Account You're with him when
all this happened, So did you panic?
Speaker 9 (14:24):
I think I was in it.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
I was like, oh, I'm going to lose them.
Speaker 9 (14:27):
I'm going to miss him.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
Yeah, I'm going to miss him. Would no? So then
what I don't know.
Speaker 8 (14:36):
Just be glad. Look your teeth. Let's see your teeth.
Your teeth going, Yeah, just be glad. I saw a
guy do the same thing. He faced planted, and his
teeth were still on the ground. Man, they might still
be there to this day. That's like twenty years ago.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
I had a buddy who faced planted on a curb
in Arizona the night before he was going for a
job interview at this bang oh no, and he showed up.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
He was destroyed.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
He showed up and they hired him.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Because he's told made up some story about he had
gotten in an accident like the movie Whiplash, but he
wanted the job so bad that he didn't want to
like call out or anything, so he didn't want to reschedule.
He got the job because of that. But yeah, lost
his teeth, same thing. Face planned it, hit a curb
and knocked out all his teeth.
Speaker 8 (15:25):
I think the moral of the story is is Lee
is actually a much better He has proven to us
he's a much better athlete than what maybe even originally
thought of.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
The double move was epic.
Speaker 8 (15:39):
That was an and almost put the dude on on
his can and caught the deep ball from from you.
And then yesterday what seemingly could have been pure disaster,
he adverts it. And he's slid. He didn't plant. He's slid.
He's a glider like he's. Lee is a when I
(15:59):
go down, I go down, and I know how to
break the fall.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
He glided, He glided on the face.
Speaker 5 (16:06):
He didn't plant the face, but.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
He didn't go right palm down because his knuckles are
banged up too, so he wasn't able to get the
right palm down.
Speaker 8 (16:13):
That well, what that is is he's from California, so
you got to understand that's that natural defense mechanism is
to start paddling, right like as the as the wave,
you got to start paddling. So Lee started. He hit
the he hit the knuckles off the ground. Now now
(16:33):
we've gotten to the bottom of him, but he's here
and his shoulder is a little sore. So that meant
that he was trying to catch the wave. That's all right, now, Yeah, it.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Does listen hell of a time with Lee.
Speaker 5 (16:47):
The last Q had a great time at the bar.
Speaker 8 (16:50):
By the way, you know, saw a lot of you
know friends, old friends, current friends to him obviously, and
you know colleagues and different things.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
Current colleagues him of course.
Speaker 8 (17:00):
Yeah, not to mean someone say, yeah, let me tell
you something about you. We gotta break these people love
them something. Yeah, man, can't enough Like I knew it,
Like I joke about, Oh, Q's a good looking dude,
Q this Q that d Q. Q.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Keep going.
Speaker 8 (17:19):
Man, them people be like, you know how somebody like
we'll say something. They'd be like yeah, oh yeah, yep, yeah, okay, yep,
and then they go to the next head.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
Q be like, yeah, so I walked through the door.
Speaker 8 (17:32):
Oh Brady, did you you walked through the door?
Speaker 2 (17:37):
Brady courtesy laugh.
Speaker 6 (17:41):
I was like, oh, you gotta be kissed off. We
were posting up, got to be kid posting up with
Mike Lingard for a good amount of time.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
Yeah, we were.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
My kid is a gangster dog.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
By way, he's as.
Speaker 11 (17:53):
Another shot home showing up to that show tomorrow. You
ay lea shucked f up. That's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
That's pretty good, sister.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Professional Mike Lidguards walking through the hall to walk into
the media center yesterday, stops with his cane and throws
up a middle finger in front of everybody.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
Walking into gold bro All right, well there you go.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Yeah, be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros
and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington,
and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
So Jimmy Butler heck of around with the Miami Heat
until this year, and now now it's he is gone
and he has gone to the.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Golden State Warriors.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
As part of the agreement, Reportedly, Butler will decline his
fifty two million dollar player option for next season. He's
planning to sign a new year, one hundred and eleven
million dollar deal that carries him through the twenty twenty
six twenty twenty seven season. So they've been looking for
another superstar to pair with Steph Curry. They add Jimmy Butler.
He goes to the Bay Area and the saga in
(19:14):
Miami for your Heat is over?
Speaker 8 (19:16):
Does that does that change things for gold State? They're
at five hundred right now.
Speaker 6 (19:20):
So I was gonna ask that, but I want to
I want to first ask this. Let you go, you guys,
you get it could have been Kevin Durant, reportedly Durant what.
Speaker 8 (19:27):
We were talking about soon, Yeah, Duran. They were talking
about sending Durant to Dallas. Well then it got to Dallas.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Yeah, and U and Durant had no interest in a
reunion with with Golden State.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
It kind of says a lot about a lot either
how that ended or.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Well doesn't it like him?
Speaker 8 (19:44):
That's run its course? Though, don't you think him going
back there? State has and him going back there would
be an.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Admission of big Biden got.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
Him acknowledging him acknowledging that, Look, I might have made
a mistake wanting to move away from Golden State, so
to come back there all these years later. What's funny
about that is, I don't think people realize how important,
because it's step Curry's franchise, how important Kevin Durant was
to their success. They were in the finals the two
(20:13):
times they won it. He was the MVP of both.
He was the best player on that team. And so
with an opportunity to go back because Phoenix has not
panned out, and we were at the Super Bowl when
the deal with Phoenix happened a couple of years ago,
it's not come close to anything that he thought it
was going to be an opportunity to go back there
in a system he knows, a place he knows and said,
(20:35):
I'm good.
Speaker 8 (20:36):
Like I'm good here, but think about the variables here, right,
You've already won championships there. And listen, Golden State is
that's I mean, you know that's as it's sacs. What
area is that that that goals there? It's like San
fran right, yeah, something like that to that that effect
(20:59):
that area.
Speaker 5 (20:59):
It's a nice area, you know, tech place booming.
Speaker 4 (21:03):
It's not where it used to be. You know that.
Speaker 12 (21:04):
Yeah, But if I'm choosing, if I'm choosing coming up.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
There just sleeping bags, if I'm.
Speaker 8 (21:15):
Choosing a place to come up short on winning the championship.
But we're decent, We're not bad. I'm staying in Phoenix.
I have the weather I have.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Damn. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (21:32):
You have good, good places to eat, very very fine,
very fine spots to dine. And you know, it's just
I think that a lot of people really enjoy Phoenix.
I mean, the tax situation is different. I just I
don't know, I feel like it's not when you look
(21:52):
at Golden State right now, is it.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
Is it still a destinational place?
Speaker 8 (21:59):
And that cass It leads me back to the question
I asked before you know us talking about you know,
Durant declining to want to go there.
Speaker 5 (22:10):
Is this a place that you still want to go?
Speaker 10 (22:13):
Is this a.
Speaker 8 (22:14):
Team that still has the chance of being able to
win it all?
Speaker 6 (22:20):
Well, i'd said, Jimmy Butler obviously thinks so. Right, he
declines his player option, he signs a two year deal,
So you got that window right now, and probably with
STEP's age, he feels like and they feel like this
is the pairing that.
Speaker 10 (22:33):
Could make it work for them.
Speaker 6 (22:35):
I just it's almost like a buyer beware for me
with that if you're a Golden State fan, because like
I got to fall the heat and I kind of
watched how it all worked out and never really worked
out I think quite the way they had hoped, especially
at the end where they suspended them three different times
this season. So I'm a little concerned for if that's
(22:56):
the anticipation for Golden State fans, that he's going to
come in and take a team it's five hundred currently,
get them into the playoffs, go on this run through
the West and be able to make the NBA Finals.
It ain't happening. I'm just go ahead and call that
right now. It's not happening. And so it it may
help improve this team. I don't think there's any doubt
about that. But this isn't like a recreation of what
(23:17):
they once had with you know, Klate Thompson, with Draymond
with you know, like and everything they've had in the past,
with Kevin Durant too.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
Klay Thompson's injuries completely changed. I think what they envisioned
the future was always going to be. They just figured
those two guys were going to retire together like that
was just and Draymond Green was going to be there,
and that's just the way that thing was going to go.
And he could never he never he never got back
to full health. He was never the same player.
Speaker 6 (23:43):
But he's still playing. It doesn't I think he could
have stayed for less money. I think it was it
was never gonna be that well.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
I think he was over it. I think he was
over the system. He felt like he wasn't getting an
opportunity like he was in the past, and I think
he wanted to go.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
Do you feel like he's getting that, I mean, yeah,
that's the reality of it.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
I just don't.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
I think those back to back injuries changed who he
was as a player, which is why they've been trying
to find somebody to fill that void with Jimmy Butler.
Butler always struck me as a guy who didn't really
want to be the guy, the second fiddle to somebody
else because there were opportunities for him to go and
play with other superstars.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Wasn't into it.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
Like he chose Miami because he was really the face
of that team for a while, and then next thing,
you know, that fell apart and he was looking for
a way out and this was the best option.
Speaker 8 (24:36):
I think he's a baller, and he's he's a beast
of a player when when he's playing, clearly. I feel
like some of the things that we've seen from him lately,
you know, the way he does his hair for the
photo shoots, or you know, just certain things, painting his fingernails,
(24:57):
like you know, doing the different color hairstyles and all
that stuff, I think he's gotten kind of a little
away from what made Jimmy Butler.
Speaker 12 (25:06):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think he's been a little bit
distracted from being the best player that he can be
as a player.
Speaker 8 (25:16):
I think a lot of stardom has come his way
since well probably since the COVID year. I think a
lot of attention has come his way. I look at
Jimmy Butler, I don't I think he obviously he if
he brings the a game that Jimmy Butler can bring,
he makes this Warriors team a better team. But does
(25:38):
he really move the needle enough for this this Golden
State team to go and in the right direction. I
would say today that's a definitive no for me. I
mean I look at some of the other teams that
are out there right now, the Thunder, they're continuing to
(25:58):
mature and come into their own.
Speaker 5 (26:01):
They get they got a ton of talent. Uh.
Speaker 8 (26:03):
You see the Grizzlies, you know they're they're maturing. That
John Morant hasn't gotten into any trouble.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
That was another Memphis was a team Jimmy Butler that
was in conversation and he wouldn't go to Memphis for
whatever reason.
Speaker 5 (26:18):
That was just to tell.
Speaker 8 (26:19):
Because I don't as you're not going to be like
you said, like that's John Morant's that's his team.
Speaker 5 (26:27):
You know.
Speaker 8 (26:27):
You you look at the Rockets, the Rockets are like,
that's a really really talented team.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
They play hard, man, they they play some.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Boa can coach.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
I know you got you know, run out in Boston
for the affair or whatever happened.
Speaker 8 (26:42):
I just I just those top tier teams in the West,
those those those top names and the top slots are now,
in my estimation, rapidly changing.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
It's not the Golden State.
Speaker 8 (26:56):
It's it's not you know, even the Nuggets have slipped
down in terms of what what what it looks like
for them to be able to come out of the West.
It's a very very competitive West right now. I mean
you even look at the Timberwolves parody. There is anyone
as good as Boston though, Okay I don't, I don't, okay,
(27:17):
see can I mean at the Rockets, the Grizzlies, Okay,
see the Rockets. I think are all teams out of
the West that could possibly win it, and and more so,
I think Oklahoma is in prime position to be that team.
I know a lot of people say we don't talk
basketball very often or whatever, and I saw people make
(27:40):
comments that, oh, we don't know anything about Actually I
do pay a lot of attention to to the NBA
and I know we talk about it off air a lot.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (27:49):
I know enough about basketball to tell you these are
the teams that are competitive teams. These are the teams
that aren't competitive teams. And a lot of the players
that are on the teams that I just mentioned have
been young talents that are now again starting to come
into their own. The teams are are showing that, you know,
(28:11):
they're they're definitely primed to be able to compete for
the West. And you're looking at teams like the Nugget
excuse me, the Warriors that aren't. They haven't gotten better.
Jimmy Butler makes them better. But this is not a
team that has moved in the direction of they're going
(28:31):
to contend for the West. I don't I don't see that.
Speaker 1 (28:34):

Speaker 2 (29:46):
You take twenty five.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
Years, it's so good.
Speaker 8 (29:50):
By the way, a BK man banged up like like Lee,
I'm just saying, you're the competition going on.
Speaker 10 (29:58):
It used to be that I would come and bang
up because of the night before. Now that I'm in
my forties, I came in banged up because I used
the hotel razor was always a mistake.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
Left. That is leaking.
Speaker 10 (30:10):
It is leaking, and that's why I have this. And
I went for a run this morning, sweat, so.
Speaker 4 (30:15):
You got it goes. Albert will go for a run
before he comes on the show. I mean you generally
come in, which are you're running gear on?
Speaker 10 (30:23):
I will, I will, But this is actually a little
better because the last couple we've been a West coast.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
Yes, it's way earlier. It's way earlier.
Speaker 10 (30:30):
Yeah, yeah, right, those West coast ones are tough, man,
Like that's.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
Every day for you. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
Well, by the way, you were selling us on New
Orleans for the host city of the Super Bowl permanently?
Speaker 2 (30:40):
Are you have you been overwhelmed or underwhelmed here?
Speaker 4 (30:43):
I love it here? Yeah?
Speaker 10 (30:44):
Great?
Speaker 4 (30:44):
You hate it?
Speaker 5 (30:45):
You can't stand it?
Speaker 4 (30:47):
What I mean?
Speaker 6 (30:49):
I will say the people are great. Yeah, the people,
it's just the snipple are black and miles and we
need well.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
People do love black and mouths out here. Man, it's
a stink smell I walk right back and out or
black is everywhere everywhere.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
My every hotel, my room doesn't smell off. I don't smoke,
but like the hallway, the elevator everywhere.
Speaker 10 (31:13):
But it's like every city smells like no, it's legal everywhere,
and it's it's it's not like that in every city
a lot.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
Oh yeah, well, I mean that's I mean, listen, you
walk around Venice and you'll just see sleeping bags and drugs.
Speaker 10 (31:26):
That's that's really what Veni said, Like the weed doctors
like twenty years ago, so it's like not new there.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
Yeah, they're like advanced. It's like the whole vaping came
to there soon.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
I just told Yeah, So, Albert, as we approach this
game coming up on Sunday, are you getting a vibe
one way or the other, a lean one way or
the other? Is there something that hasn't been discussed that
you think could be a major factor.
Speaker 10 (31:52):
For this I mean, the Chiefs just seem so tremendously loose,
you know what I mean. That's the first thing just
being around them, is that you can kind of feel
that they're so comfortable in this environment, and you know,
it's just kind of like, I don't know. The reason
why I picked the Chiefs to win the game is
because I think this is a close enough matchup. I
think the Eagles have a better roster, but I think
this is a close enough matchup where it's probably gonna
(32:14):
come down to the last five minutes. And if it
comes down to the last five minutes, how do you
how do you not how do you not like just
put your push your chips in the middle of the
table on him, I.
Speaker 6 (32:25):
Like waiver back and forth with it for some of
the reasons you just made. And I think ultimately though,
I come down to I guess Patrick Mahomes becoming that
guy now that you just believe that, well, it's gonna
It's like a game. So the Chief's gonna win because
we know Patrick Hohomes will make a plan. Then I
don't know though, because the roster deals. What sticks out
to me like I think I don't think the Chiefs
(32:46):
could be able stop Philly running football.
Speaker 10 (32:48):
Well, I mean like but I I think what you're
gonna see And I've talked to some of their guys
on this, like how it's just you have you have
a defensive coordinator who really knows what he's doing. You've
got a bunch of versatile pieces and one thing one thing,
and you guys can you guys can do much better
job breaking this down than me. But like, like Steve
(33:09):
Sagnolo is not going to sit in one front and
say like, yes, we're gonna beat you. We're gonna be
able to go toe to toe with you and beat
you man to man, And you know, I think you're
gonna see them change their front to bottom bunch. I
think Leo Chanal is a huge part of the game
because he could do a bunch of different things and
they can move him around. And I think, like, you know,
(33:31):
I look at like Josh Allen last week. So one
of the big things that came up when I've been
talking to coaches and scouts about this the matchup itself,
and guys that have played both teams, what they what
they've said to me pretty consistently is you have to
beat Saquan and first down. They have to beat Jalen
on second down because what happens is that if you
can get them into second and long, that's where Jalen
uses his legs and then they turn second along to
(33:52):
third and short and they're almost unstoppable and short yardage.
So I just look at last week against the Bills
that Josh Allen kill them with their legs with his legs. No, no, no,
you know, like and they were able to win in
short yardage, and I just feel like they killed themselves
away from.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
A different animal though no I.
Speaker 10 (34:11):
Know, but I mean, like everybody, but but I'm talking.
I'm talking about like in that if you can beat,
if you can stop Saquon on first down, which takes
a big.
Speaker 4 (34:18):
Gift, right, it's a big yet.
Speaker 10 (34:19):
But if you but if you can do that on
first down, then it's Jaling on second down. And we've
seen what they can do once. We've seen what they
can do on second we've seen what they can do
against the mobile quarterback. So like, I don't know, I
just looked at it like this is one of the
best defensive coordinators of all time when it comes to
winning in big games and game planning and big games,
(34:39):
and I.
Speaker 4 (34:39):
Just know it's mahome.
Speaker 10 (34:41):
I mean, yeah, I mean at this, I think Spagnola's ability,
it's I think the Spagnola is going to find a
way to put the ball in Jalen Hurts hands and
say you have to beat us the pocket, which is
phenomenal throwing the ball, throwing the ball down the field
and like one, you know, like you're gonna have work.
We're gonna put pressure on and you're gonna have to
throw under pressure down the field from the pocket. And
(35:03):
if you can beat us like that, God bless you.
But I just I think Spagnola was gonna find a
way to do.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
Now you're I'm so divided. On this one, Like I
really am.
Speaker 10 (35:11):
I'm torn, and like maybe it's like they.
Speaker 6 (35:15):
Effect I want to ask you since we're here in
New Orleans. Yeah, they haven't hired a head coach yet.
It seems like the worst kept secret at this point.
Speaker 5 (35:22):
Kill him.
Speaker 10 (35:22):
Yeah right, So how does that factor into this game
at all?
Speaker 4 (35:26):
In your mind?
Speaker 10 (35:27):
But then also just for Saints fans, you know.
Speaker 4 (35:29):
What do they have to look forward to?
Speaker 10 (35:31):
You know, I'm really impressed with like the maturation of
Callen because Kellen was kind of like I think he
was sort of like plucked as Jerry Jones's next version
of Jason Garrett. You know, like he's a player there.
They led him into the coaching meetings when he was
still playing. They viewed him that way, They pushed him
through the system. He's eventually gonna be the head coach
(35:52):
of the Cowboys, and then it didn't work out that way.
And you know, I think the year getting fired in
Los Angeles, being part of the staff there and now
coming to Philly, I think has really kind of rounded
him out as a coach. And you know, one thing
that was another thing that came up when we were
when I was talking to you know, different guys from
(36:13):
different teams that have played both these teams is how
you know, Kansas City's pretty complex and Philly's pretty simple.
And I thought that was interesting and I talked to
a few of their coaches about it. How Like last
year when Kellen came in, like he they as a
staff went over every game from the last three years,
every game Nick Sirianni's coach there, and looked at the
(36:33):
offense and decided what they wanted to keep and what
they wanted to throw out, and they incorporated stuff Kellen's doing.
And to go from having like this massive amount of
information and concepts and scheme and all these guys from
different backgrounds and then be able to synthesize it down
and manage the egos of coaches who maybe thought they
should have been the coordinator, you know what I mean, Like,
I think that's I think there's a lot of head
(36:55):
coach stuff there, you know what I mean, Like what
Kellen had to do coming in and managing that situation,
managing expectations, getting the most out of a quarterback, like
so many things that I think he is going to
have to do as a head coach. He was asked
to do in Philly, and I think it showed that
he learned from his failures in Dallas and Los Angeles
and pulling it off.
Speaker 8 (37:13):
Maybe the narrative coming into this season for Philly and
for Sirianni kind of had him on.
Speaker 4 (37:22):
The hot seat.
Speaker 10 (37:22):
Yeah, it's amazing, isn't that.
Speaker 8 (37:24):
And it had the conversational points of mutiny, you know,
like we don't believe in him, we don't you know,
whatever it may be, there's issues with him. What is
he forty eight and twenty Now all he's done is won, Yeah,
and now they're back in the Super Bowl. Does a
win or a loss do anything to deteriorate what he's
(37:44):
been able to accomplish this season?
Speaker 10 (37:46):
I mean, I like I would say if he was
coaching anywhere except Philly, No, but Philly's a different animal.
I Mean, it's just it's unbelievable if you think about it,
like he took over a four win team, and yes,
they had injuries and they sort of tank the end
of the year, But if you don't really think about it,
like he took over a four win team that was
that was about to go through a quarterback change because
(38:07):
they were they were going from Carson Wentz.
Speaker 4 (38:09):
It hurts then, and.
Speaker 10 (38:11):
Like I just like look at like the the body
of work and it's really good. But again, like I
think the way Philly and I can understand this too.
I think the way that Philadelphia the fan base is
going to look at it is, well, we have this
great group of players, and if you don't win, are
we missing our window?
Speaker 4 (38:29):
You know?
Speaker 10 (38:29):
And I think that that's that's just the mind I
think there's some degrees. The mindset of the organization too
is to look at like in win in championship windows,
and right now they're on a championship windows. So I'm
sure like if this were to somehow really fly off
the rails on Sunday, you know, I'm sure the question
of Philadelphia is gonna be is he good enough to
put the group over the top? Which seems obscene because
of all these accomplished but I think that'll be the
(38:51):
main how just.
Speaker 3 (38:52):
Like can you justify that as a fan base when
you've won one? Like I get if it's the Patriots
and you've had like a decade of dominance, you've won one.
Speaker 10 (39:00):
We're trying to we're trying to put reasonable bound reasons.
Speaker 13 (39:04):
I'm just trying to figure out, like why they look
at him and go, no, no, we demand more, Like
it's not like you like this is a common occurrence,
Like what he's done to start his Eagles coaching career
anywhere else in the league would be lauded like there,
there wouldn't even be a discussion about him being on
the hot seat.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
He's in another Super Bowl. Like it's just I don't get.
Speaker 10 (39:26):
I mean, I I just think it's a product of
the environment there, and like it's just.
Speaker 8 (39:31):
The same fans that want James Franklin out every single game.
Speaker 4 (39:35):
It's just the.
Speaker 5 (39:35):
Same, it's the same deal.
Speaker 8 (39:37):
Like it's never it's never enough, you know, Philip Philadelphia
Eagles fans, Philly fans is just it's never enough, you know,
And those times that they have come up short, they want, Hey,
what are.
Speaker 4 (39:50):
You Philly fans miserable people? Is that what you're saying.
Speaker 8 (39:53):
No, I'm not saying they're miserable people, because I could
throw I could say, you know, even though it doesn't
apply to them because they're not in any Super both
and the Ohio teams, damn, damn. But you could say
the same thing about Ohio State fans, as it may
apply to you know who they choose to cheer for.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
I'm just saying that I know about that.
Speaker 10 (40:13):
I know about unrealistic.
Speaker 4 (40:15):
Okay, that intensity.
Speaker 8 (40:18):
Of wanting your team to win it all or we
want you gone. That's just it's a just it's a
real thing. It is a real thing.
Speaker 10 (40:26):
I mean, I like, I do think you know you
and it sucks because, like I feel like when you
talk about the roster the way we talk about, which
is a really great roster, it's almost diminishing what Nick
has accomplished, which I mean again like his fiery passion
or so much of its optics, don't you the media?
I mean, like, here's here's an example, right, if you
(40:48):
do you like, let me let me ask you this.
I think optics plain to all of this stuff. Like
I'll ask you as this question, what's the indestry Mike
McCarthy and Mike Tomlin.
Speaker 5 (40:58):
LeVar One's black. But if you but if you yeah,
but if you.
Speaker 14 (41:13):
Look at if you look at you're saying it's not
like there's not a different there's not a huge difference
when you look at them resumeated to but perceived differently
because I think it's been fire twice the optics of it, right,
Like you have a guy who looks like a badass
and Mike Tomlin, right, and then.
Speaker 10 (41:30):
You have Mike McCarthy who looks like the guy you'd
be sitting next to at the bar, you know what
I mean, like.
Speaker 4 (41:35):
Stuff, it's from Pittsburgh too.
Speaker 8 (41:36):
Yeah, I know he is, I know, you know, I
think obviously the idea that you can lean on the
fact that he hasn't had a losing season, you know,
in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 10 (41:45):
But what I'm saying with what I'm saying with though,
is that I do think optics play into it where
people look at people look at him and it's like, God,
this guy like like, this guy is not in control.
He's all over the place, he had the press conference start,
the you know, his time there. It's just I think,
like too often we like look at these things and
(42:05):
it's like we make it, We make up our mind
on what a guy is, and we don't let it go,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (42:10):
First impressions.
Speaker 6 (42:11):
Yeah, there's a reason why people always harp on first impressions,
why they're so important.
Speaker 4 (42:15):
Because it is. Yeah, but in human nature.
Speaker 6 (42:17):
We all fall victim to that or are guilty of
that that we look at the first impression with someone
and we tend to form our opinion and never let
go of it. It is what it is. I want
to transition though, to talk about Miles Garrett. I think
the request for a trade isn't surprising. It actually may
become at a great time for the Browns if they
are trying to figure out their cap and get some
draft picks. So you're still hamstrung with Watson being there.
(42:41):
What's realistic for like what a team price? A price
for the trade, but then also who's the best suit
in your mind?
Speaker 10 (42:49):
So a price I'd say two once that's the baseline.
Speaker 4 (42:53):
I think that's where you start, and then you go
up here.
Speaker 10 (42:55):
Green Bay wants the bad Yeah, So I think Green
Bay is an interesting landing spot because you already have
he Shaan Gary. You can put them opposite Gary. You've
got good d line and Kenny Clark's there, and you're
not gonna use first round picks to drop a wide receiver.
We know that, Yeah, yeah, I mean and they and
they are drafting towards the bottom of the first round,
right Detroit is the one that really I look at
(43:17):
that and I'm like that, Yeah, like that one. When
I look at that, I just think, like, you look
at the roster. I mean, if you're Dan Campbell and
Brad Holmes, you're probably looking at your roster and he's saying,
we might have like five or six rookies make our team.
So do we really need the draft picks at that
scrap point? You know what I mean? Like we we
(43:37):
don't need the draft picks we did two or three
years ago. You don't have to maneuver it cap wise,
and obviously there's gonna be some guys you have to
pay over the next couple of years. But if you're
talking about like the negative momentum that the Lions have
had over the last three or four weeks, after I mean,
what two plus years of positive momentum, they lose a
really ugly game with the command They're really ugly loss
(43:59):
against Commanders. They lose six or seven coaches. It's like,
for the first time they're kind of dealing with some turmoil.
Wouldn't that be a great way to kind of stamp
it and say, now we're still all in on this group?
Speaker 2 (44:12):
What's the plan?
Speaker 3 (44:13):
Albert Breer, by the way, joining us here live from
Radio Rowe New Orleans at the Super Bowl. He's wearing
a placard for those of you listening that says star
of Amazon Primes Thursday night football coverage. You can get
him on ex at Albert Breer. What's the plan for
the Raiders at quarterback?
Speaker 4 (44:30):
I think their plan will be.
Speaker 10 (44:31):
To get a bridge quarterback. And what I'm interested to
see is how much Brady is able to affect the
thinking of Mark Davis here, because I do think what
most people who have worked there over the years would
tell you is he's not going to be able to
keep Mark Davis at Bay and eventually it's going to
go back to being the way that it was, and
(44:52):
he's not and Mark isn't going to be patient. But
I mean, before all this, I can tell you there
was a perception that in Obert.
Speaker 4 (45:00):
Wuddy in October a little bit, you guys.
Speaker 10 (45:10):
Want to you guys want to sing the fight song,
Rudy if you want, I can sing mine.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
Oh wow, this is Kyle Rudolf what I uh gets
astray mine in his own business.
Speaker 5 (45:26):
So I can't sing mine.
Speaker 2 (45:28):
No, I don't even remember where I was.
Speaker 4 (45:31):
Don't worry about So I think one thing that like
Tom Brady effect. Yeah.
Speaker 10 (45:37):
One thing that will be interesting there is like I
did hear in October November that they were going to
be under a mandate to take a quarterback in the
first round, Like Mark Davis is gonna mandate them, like
you have to take one this year. You have to
get it fixed.
Speaker 4 (45:51):
Yeah, I mean who are you thinking?
Speaker 10 (45:54):
I mean cam warder should Door is the only two
I think that are you know.
Speaker 4 (45:58):
I like Jackson Dart. I know what he was asked
to do at Old Miss.
Speaker 10 (46:02):
Do you like him? Sixth overall?
Speaker 6 (46:03):
Though, if I'm going that far, I don't like any
of these guys really six overall? Like this is not
a class again in comparison to last year's class, if
you're looking at the tape and how they compare and everything.
Speaker 10 (46:15):
Here's the thing though, Like you say that, right, doesn't
that make this a bad year to be under a
mandate to take a quarter of Yes?
Speaker 4 (46:21):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (46:21):
Right?
Speaker 10 (46:22):
So that's where I think Brady has to help, you know.
And one thing Tom did that I think Tom talked
to the agents and some of the candidates to try
to convince them to interview, and some of the candidates
themselves before the interviews in saying this, isn't gonna be
the old Raiders anymore. And that we have these investors
(46:43):
coming in. We have you know, Egan Durbin and Mike
Meldbin and and Tom Wagner coming in, and these guys
are big money. You're gonna have resources that they didn't
have here before. This is no longer going to be
a cashbo franchise. And I'm not going to put something
embarrassing out there, like I'm not gonna put my name
on something that's gonna make me Yeah, I'm not gonna
I'm not gonna put something like that like that out there.
(47:05):
So you can count on me to be a great
resource for you and to help like set the vision here.
And now I think it's gonna be on Tom to
stick to that because Tom isn't gonna be their day
to day, Like Tom isn't gonna be in the building
day to day, So like, can he do enough from
far from far away to change what that place is
day to day? I think that's gonna be an open question.
(47:26):
But I think I think the answer to your first question,
I think Pete probably gets a bridge and maybe it's
Russell
