Speaker 1 (00:02):
Is the best of two pros and a couple Joe
with lamar As Rating Winn and Jonas Knox on four Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
The NFL schedule was fully released last night, No More,
No More Leaks.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
The leaks was gone.
Speaker 4 (00:22):
Run of a clause, but didn't have this Colts the
Colts video made it an hour before they had to.
Speaker 5 (00:28):
Take it down.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
By the way, what do you think rafts of the Colts?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
The Colts people are assuming that the Colts took it
down because there was, you know, some depictions of Minecraft.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
By the way, I don't even know what Minecraft is.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
That's a lot of Minecraft, a lot of Minecraft going.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Like some movie just came out, you know, some nerd
lego movie modern day Legos you build and.
Speaker 6 (00:52):
Zero sense to me, bro like zero sense. I had
to go to the movie to see it. I saw
the movie. I went to sleep halfway through the movie.
Speaker 5 (01:02):
That's about right.
Speaker 6 (01:03):
I just didn't understand it. I didn't understand what makes it?
Speaker 4 (01:07):
You know, well, the understanding of this particular thing was
Tyreek Hill I think was depicted as a dolphin and
they had the coast guard come up. It looked like
the coast guard was arresting him. So that is the
assumb show as to why.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Hey, god forbid they do a documentary, God forbid, what
do you want to do?
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Tell lies? Have him winning a Super Bowl?
Speaker 6 (01:30):
Come on, Dolphins have very very high sex drives. Man,
you know, just saying that's true.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
I didn't know what that what that doesn't do with anything,
but there's a lot to do with everything. I don't
know to who they depicted, well, by the way, I've
heard that number has grown exponentially. Oh yeah, you go, yeah,
(02:00):
I've to ten to We don't.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
Even know at this point.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
No, stay healthy, keep playing.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
He's in for a big season this year. He's in
for a big season.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
There was always the other one.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Patrick Mahomes's dad was depicted as a frog trying to
stop a fight between his dad and John Rocker was
the other one.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
I mean, yeah, I mean, come on, what's the problem
we can't.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
Have What the problem is with these videos?
Speaker 5 (02:31):
One?
Speaker 4 (02:32):
I wonder if the department who creates them actually has
the okay of the owner of like the GM or
whoever else, because with the cold situation.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
It feels like that was like the type of deal
where they go.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Oh, just wait, we're gonna release everyone gets to watch it,
and then they watch it and then there's there's in
there for a second, going what idiot put this together
and thought that they could actually keep this up, Like,
we can't put this out there in front of what people, like,
we're gonna get sued or there's gonna be some sort
of issue here. It kind of feels like that goes
on with some organizations. Maybe that happened with the Colts.
(03:09):
What was interesting to me was watching the difference in Minecraft,
because there's a number of teams that used it.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
Did you see the Jets?
Speaker 4 (03:18):
I don't. I might have seen highlights. Go go and
watch the Jets if you can't. I don't know if
like what they said was true or not. It's felt
like they were late to the game and it sounded
like they had something else planned that they went with
something else instead. Wasn't sure if that was just for
the sake of what they were doing. But I couldn't
tell if I liked it or not. It was one
of those ones where it kind of zooms in and
then it zooms in, and then it zooms in. It
(03:40):
keeps like zooming into smaller things in the picture. I
found it entertaining, but at the end of it, I
was like, this is kind of un original, Like didn't
we see a team do that last year?
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yeah, I'm not really in good whole themed schedule releases,
like just drop it, like here's what we got, here's
who we're playing, Go buy some tickets, come to the games,
like that's it.
Speaker 5 (03:59):
I thought THELLS was good.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Alan Iverson, Yeah, what's the Why wouldn't he have done
the Eagles? Like is there is there some issue going
on there or what? Like, what's the I mean, I
just maybe they didn't think of it.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
I don't think it was just like up for grabs.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
I think the Buffalo Bills thought of it, and you know,
it was a fun little skit. It was good pure coincidence.
I'm sure that you know.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
The the Jets host the Pittsburgh Steelers Week one, purely coincidence,
like like just has nothing to do with who potentially
could be the quarterback for the for the Steelers.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
Uh at still waiting on I'm waiting for Oh, you
guys aren't banking on Mason Rudolph.
Speaker 6 (04:41):
Yeah, I gather no, I mean no or not.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
I'm sure, I'm sure by the way I do like
how the NFL. The NFL made sure. The NFL made
sure to put it early in the year, just just
so we're safe. We can get that match up. When
Rogers does sign with the pictures of Steelers, we don't
have to worry about anything popping up or an injury
or anything like that.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
We can get that out of the way.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
And I mean, but was that that decision made prematurely
to you know, the the idea that Aaron Rott not prematurely,
but like just before the idea of Aaron Rodgers going
to the Steelers. I mean, you know what I mean?
I mean, does that make any sense? I mean, you
think they purely made that decision based off.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
Of here's what you're asking.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
You're asking if they're purely making that decision based on
Justin Fields, who was also a former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback
starting for the Jets, is what you're asking.
Speaker 6 (05:33):
Sure, I guess that's a good I guess that's a
good pool, right.
Speaker 5 (05:37):
I guess, because whether Rogers is there or not, there
is that.
Speaker 6 (05:40):
Angle of all this that there is that angle. There
is that angle. Is that I mean, is that a
good angle? Is that a big I guess if Justin
Fields went in there as a starter and won against Pittsburgh.
That would be a great angle. It's a post game,
great post game angle.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
I mean, look, it's it's a storyline. It's one where
you look at some of the matchups throughout Week one
and they don't all have great storylines. Some are more
based on the matchup. So it's definitely a storyline. It's
definitely something to keep an eye on. But like I said,
I think it's going to be Aaron Rodgers versus Justin
Fields when it's all said and done. I also think
we're under estimating that if you look at how last
(06:18):
year went with the Jets and Rogers, who was largely
around the team in the offseason, with the exception of
one period of time which happened to be the mandatory
mini camp, which became that you know, whole topic of discussion.
During the course of this summer, he gets to avoid
all of that. Maybe he doesn't sign with the team
during this period of time. So there is that thought
(06:42):
to all this that you know, Rogers at this point
in his career, you know, would help for him to
be with the team, especially a new team. Guys he's
throwing to everything else. Sure, but you know, he also
maybe not a plan on being there anyway. So if
that's the case, then it's maybe better just not need
to be signed. Do not have to worry about being fine,
I don't have to worry about putting the team in
(07:03):
that position. I do wonder if they talked about that
or have talked about that, considering how Brett Farv used
to do things, you know, back during the end of
his career and how he was handling stuff, but also
how last year went, and the trip to Egypt that
seemed to rub a lot of people the wrong.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
Way because the timing of all of it, you know.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
So now if he wants to go smoke weed on
the back of a camel, he doesn't have any obligation
to any TMV he hasn't signed yet, makes sense.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
I mean, here's here's the only thing I'll say about
that trip is, did you see all that stuff that
came out about the Pyramids? It was like the whole
city and stuff, but everything else that came out. Maybe
he got a sneak peak of all that stuff before
everyone else.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Oh, they they still haven't figured out how those things
got built.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
Stories.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
You know, you guys got the so what is the
AI theory because I've looked at up I've heard there's
like water, like there's there's water. They used water to
transport some of the blocks in like that. Some of
the uh I've heard, you know, alien involvement. I've heard
(08:10):
an extraterrestrial involvement, Like there's been a slating that in there.
I mean just saying there's there's a lot a lot
of speculation about how those things were even built because
they're still standing. They still seem to be, uh functioning properly,
and they were built a long ass time ago before
any technican.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Go look into the most recent discovery like what they found.
Speaker 6 (08:30):
I hear you, I mean he told you to go
look on Hey, speaking of.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
The Jets, did you see there?
Speaker 6 (08:37):
Did you guys see their schedule release video that they
posted on social It's pretty creative.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Yeah, that's what I was just talking about earlier.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
Okay, I thought you were talking about the one they
kept zooming in. Yeah, they kept zooming Yeah, so the Jets,
like you kept zooming in, zooming in. They talked about
how they were going to do something else and then
they ended up dropping that with you, right, Yeah, it's
funny it's pretty cool.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
It's a pretty cool video. Look.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
I kept zooming in on on the Jets schedule and
I saw eleven l's for some reason.
Speaker 6 (09:03):
I don't know if you zooming, you didn't have to
zoom in, because the video did the zooming for you.
That is a funny, little bit, funny little.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Just like you take your fingers put them together.
Speaker 5 (09:13):
I know we're up against a little bit. Can we
get these some games? Show music though? Real fast? All right?
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Oh yep, it's that time for guess which teams don't
have a game in primetime? Jonas Knox, You'll be first up.
Which NFL team has zero games in primetime this season? Well,
based on the fact that.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Even their starting quarterback doesn't want to be there anymore
and he just upped and retired less than a week ago.
I'm gonna go the New Orleans Saints as being one
of them.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Correct, The New Orleans Saints have his zero games in primetime.
LaVar Arrington, you were up next. There are two more teams.
Can you name one of the next two that has
no like?
Speaker 6 (10:02):
You gotta go with the Panthers, right, I mean they're.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
That is wrong?
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Yeah, that is wrong. Carolina Panthers actually do have a
game in prime Jonas knocks back to you, you have
a chance to steal here got them.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Let me let me think of what would be a
got A team that should have very little expectations based
on what they go with.
Speaker 6 (10:26):
Carolina Panthers isn't one of those.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
I would go with the Cleveland Browns. I'm gonna say the.
Speaker 5 (10:33):
Right.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
That's correct, the Cleveland brown You're looking for the seconds
of three teams that have zero games in prime time? LeVar,
last chance? Looking, can you name the thirteen that has
no games in prime time?
Speaker 7 (10:52):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (10:54):
I mean the Titans. They get the number one overall pick.
I mean they so they stunk. They might still stink.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
This about the Titans, that is correct, Titans have zero games.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
I mean, even though I'm not I should.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
Be, but the Titans one.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
I totally disagree with the NFL not put them in primetime.
He's a number one pick, Like, why would you not
feature them? They've got Indianapolis getting a primetime game. Who
gives a crap about Indianapolis other than their their schedule
release video?
Speaker 5 (11:24):
Until Levar's point, I'd rather.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
See the Tennessee Titans and the number one overall pick
with what you said as opposed to the Carolina Panthers,
Like the Panthers seem like one of those teams with
the least amount of buzz around them. It was a
bit surprising. Hell, I'll even throw the Browns in there.
Like the fact that the Browns don't have a primetime game.
I don't care what people say about the quarterback situation.
(11:48):
They still have a decent roster around them. There's still
stars like Miles Garrett. There's still going to be some
good AFC North like matchups and battles. I just I
don't think they're gonna be that that bad of a
team this year.
Speaker 5 (12:02):
Like I think they'll be competitive.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
So it's a bit surprising dating can throw them a bone,
get them an early primetime But is what it is, man,
That's that's what By the way, that's what the NFL.
Don't blame us, all right, that is what the NFL
thinks of you, Cleveland, Tennessee and New Orleans. They make
the schedule, they think you're going to stink. It's not
on us. We're just poining it out to you. Just
(12:24):
so you know, the NFL thinks those three teams are
gonna stink this year.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Meanwhile, Dallas gets six games in primetime. It just can't
help themselves. Whatever whirl them in. You know, the only
Kansas City's got more primetime games than the Cowboys this year.
All right, makes sense they've got more than Philly, but okay.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Get ready because things are about to get wild with
the old pe he Is Petros Papa egg Is. He
is the co host of the Petros and Money Show,
which you can hear on the Blowtorch.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
A five seventy LA.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Sports Fox College football analyst Pee, what's happening?
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Good morning, Good.
Speaker 7 (13:14):
Morning to everybody, Hello, good morning, Hello, Hello, little rough
was I was up late last night?
Speaker 5 (13:20):
Why I spoke at the well?
Speaker 7 (13:24):
This is pretty local, but your listeners are pretty your
great national listeners are always very gracious when it comes
to me talking about hyper local stuff here in southern California.
But they opened a surf club in the Hondo Beach.
Nice and a friend of mine opened it. He's the
(13:44):
same guy behind Beach Life. It's not really like a
place where you go to surf. It's like a club
with a restaurant.
Speaker 5 (13:51):
And like a balker and like all kinds of places
to hang out and it's all night.
Speaker 7 (13:57):
Well, it's a membership thing. It's not my club. Was
well last night I was asked to. It just opened
with Beach Life and it's on the Beach Life grounds
where they do the concert in Redondo Beach.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
And I was last night.
Speaker 7 (14:18):
There's like a speaking series and I interviewed the guy from.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
Pennywise, Jim Lindbergh.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
Cool.
Speaker 7 (14:25):
Yeah, very interesting guy and a big part of the
South Bay kind of you know what.
Speaker 5 (14:30):
It's kind of interesting.
Speaker 7 (14:31):
Their band was a local band of guys that grew up,
you know, in the area together surfing and skateboarding and stuff.
And around the time that they got started, you know,
somebody like Tony Hawk put them on a skateboard video
and then as Kelly Slater had them in like a
surf video. We're talking about like late early nineties, and
(14:54):
next thing you know, people in Australia are singing songs
about South Bay culture in Southern California. So it was
interesting and it was it was a long night. The
only club I've ever been in is, to answer your question, LeVar,
is the Elks.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
You're always welcome to come to the Elks with me.
This club.
Speaker 7 (15:13):
I work at the surf club there. Yes, I'm sorry,
go ahead, that's one of.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
Us updoing nice, okay, I mean, listen, sounds fun.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
Well, no, no, no, I was I was gonna ask him,
did you surf?
Speaker 5 (15:25):
Like, do you grow up surfing?
Speaker 7 (15:27):
Well, I mean if you're from here, you kind of,
you know, you end up having you know, your summer
or two at the beach. You know, my father was
a big surfer. I always have had a very healthy
fear of the sea. Uh, there's a lot of you know,
it's kind of like throwing the football. There's a lot
of bad things that can happen in the ocean.
Speaker 5 (15:47):
You know with football.
Speaker 7 (15:49):
You know there's like what when they say throwing the football,
you know, a lot of things can happen, most of
them are bad. Yeah. It's the same with going into
the sea. I mean, if you think about it, you know,
it's not your environment. You know, people go into the
ocean and worry about sharks. It's like, yeah, well, you know,
I mean it's like going into the sky and worrying
about clouds.
Speaker 5 (16:09):
It's like, yeah, that's where they live.
Speaker 7 (16:12):
You know, this is a shark infested water infested that's
it's like.
Speaker 5 (16:18):
Saying, you know, las infested with people.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
The ocean's even got UFOs now too.
Speaker 7 (16:23):
Yeah, well you can be eaten by a shark, swallowed
or like punctured by like a bottle nosed dolphin, punched
in the ribs, toxic shock of course, you know, drowning, hypothermia.
I mean, there are so many terrible things that can
happen to you in the ocean. But I did have
my summer or two going down to the ocean because
(16:44):
just because you know, to look at the girls when
you're in you know, thirteen or fourteen.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
But my father was a big surfer.
Speaker 7 (16:50):
I never quite really graduated to that board, but I
was a great sponger in my time, which is the
body board.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
Oh yeah, yeah, Max seven seven Mary boogie.
Speaker 7 (17:03):
Then you were flips, yes, the Church Hill fins, the
ones that were half blue and half yellow and if
you put them together it looks like a dolphin's fluke.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Now, what was your what was your beachware of Troy,
were you an ope guy?
Speaker 7 (17:19):
Uh No, I mean back in my time it was
Quicksilver and Bella Bunk and all those businesses.
Speaker 5 (17:26):
Well there.
Speaker 7 (17:26):
I don't think they're out of business, but they've certainly
closed most of their retail stores.
Speaker 5 (17:30):
I wore follow.
Speaker 6 (17:33):
Was the op shorts guy and tank tops yeah wore yeah.
Ocean Pacific, yes, yea, even in Pittsburgh. I wore them
growing up at times in the summer.
Speaker 5 (17:45):
Well, we have what's it? Yes? Please?
Speaker 6 (17:47):
Can I can?
Speaker 5 (17:48):
I ask you?
Speaker 6 (17:50):
It's an interview you you know what you're right? It
isn't and we're interviewing you, and.
Speaker 5 (17:55):
Which is really cool.
Speaker 6 (17:58):
What's your what's your takeaway right now from all of
the is it fallout from what took place with the
Lakers in the playoffs and then Dallas getting the first
first pick in the NBA draft? How do you, I
mean you see the correlation? Do you do you think
(18:19):
that it's fixed now or you know, how do you
feel about it?
Speaker 5 (18:23):
Well?
Speaker 7 (18:23):
I think that we all just kind of live in
this conspiracy theory world, and a lot of the conspiracy
theories that we've been told over the years that are
conspiracy theories like UFOs on the seat happened to be true.
So it's uh, it was a difficult thing. We had
it on air, so we covered it live and when
(18:47):
it happened in the moment, I mean, it's such an
awkward event, right that there's nothing more awkward than the
draft lottery.
Speaker 5 (18:55):
When they asked Hakem a question and.
Speaker 7 (18:57):
He was like, yeah, just look at all. So we
watched that whole thing live and uh, yeah, it's hard
to accept, right. I mean, you wonder when the other
shoe was going to drop and why Dallas would do
such a thing, and then I guess you kind of
get your answer a little bit later. I believe we
(19:20):
talked about it yesterday on the air. And the last
time this happened when the league did something to appease Lebron,
which was get Anthony Davis to the Lakers, who miraculously
got the first pick in the draft that very next
that very next draft, it was the New Orleans Pelicans
and they got zioned. So it's, uh, it's curious, LeVar,
(19:41):
It's it's I don't think the NBA has a great
deal of integrity when it comes to this. This feels
like a call that the vampire made. Now that being said,
and by vampire I mean Adam silver Ropted. That being said,
I do think, uh, I do you think that we
(20:01):
have such a short attention span as a sports media
and a society that everybody stands up and screams like
it's rigged and points their finger, their knobby finger and
all that, and then you know, the next day we're.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
On to the next you know, what's going on, what's
with Belichick?
Speaker 7 (20:17):
You know? I mean, so we have such a short
attention span. But yeah, I mean, just percentage wise, it
doesn't seem to work out. There's all kinds of ways
that they can massage this. We all know about the
conspiracy theories about the New York Knicks.
Speaker 5 (20:34):
And Patrick Ewing. So I guess to answer your question,
it felt a lot like that. I'm not sure how
much people.
Speaker 7 (20:42):
Really care unless you're, you know, within the San Antonio
Spurs organization or something. But they got their windfall a
couple of years back with Victor Win Banyana so Yama.
So yeah, it's there's no doubt that everybody feels like
it's rigged. It's hard not to. But at the same time,
what are you going to do storm the castle and
(21:04):
try to stick a steak in the vampire's heart? That's
not gonna be easy.
Speaker 5 (21:14):
When we hear the news of Michael.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
Jordan joining NBC, do you wonder, like why now at
this point is our stage in his life?
Speaker 7 (21:23):
I could just see like every comment he makes, right, like,
you know, hey, Michael, what did you think about the
first half from Shay Gilgess Alexander? And he made two
or three shots and I took that personally, you know,
you know, it's.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
I mean, I.
Speaker 7 (21:44):
Think about Joe Montana, these guys, you know, the all
time greats, you know. Tom Brady of course is a
big topic, and he's developing as a broadcaster on.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
The highest, highest, highest possible level that you can develop
as a broadcaster, which is not easy.
Speaker 7 (22:00):
But I think about those guys and they weren't very good,
you know, like you know, I mean, Joe Montana was
not good, yet he was arguably the greatest football player
of all time. So yeah, I don't know, it'll be interesting.
What's your theory, Brady? Well, this is why I wanted
to ask you this.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
Really, I was hoping that you would maybe segue into
this naturally but we'll get there together. Lebron James as
what one more year?
Speaker 5 (22:30):
We know he's not.
Speaker 4 (22:30):
Gonna opt out all that two more Okay. Something tells
me he's not going to go off quietly into the
night when he's done. Something tells me he'd want to
maybe join one of these bigger networks and potentially be
a part of the conversation about where.
Speaker 5 (22:45):
The game's at.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
And there's a thought in the back of my mind
that if you're Michael Jordan, he's been successful every single
thing he's done, why not get a jump on that
where there's not like, there's not a division.
Speaker 5 (22:59):
I don't think and who we feel like the goat is.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
It's kind of one voice who's kind of setting the table,
no different than Wayne Gretzky, who obviously is a part
of a lot of the hockey coverage and Tom Brady,
as you kind of mentioned, there's just some sort of
authoritative voice hearing those guys. And I think it especially
when you hear Michael Jordan compared to Lebron in my
pale in comparison, right.
Speaker 5 (23:22):
I think it'll be interesting.
Speaker 7 (23:24):
And yeah, like I don't think Lebron's gonna do I
don't think Lebron's gonna go quietly into the night.
Speaker 5 (23:30):
This week, Brady, like he's gonna do something.
Speaker 7 (23:34):
You know, they always have something, some tweet, some emoji,
some comment on some podcast, some floated media idea about
what Lebron is interested into one of his people through
Clutch Sports. Lebron's not gonna go quietly this week. But
I do have a more pragmatic answer I think to
(23:55):
why the quote unquote goat voice has really kind of
been come part of our athletic pantheon as far as
hiring these guys and giving them broadcast jobs.
Speaker 5 (24:07):
I am characterizing that correctly, am I not?
Speaker 7 (24:12):
Yeah, just like I was writing about the Black Leprechaun.
But A, I think what's happened Brady is you don't
make ten thousand dollars a football game anymore or whatever.
If you're you know, Michael Jordan or Tom Brady on air,
you're making money that is comparable to money that you
(24:33):
would have made when you played, if not more so,
if you're Tom Brady's agent, or Michael Jordan's agent, or
Wayne Gretzky's agent, and you know, like for Gretzky and stuff,
you're just collecting money for speaking appearances or whatever you're booking,
and you can book this guy for a you know,
(24:54):
eighty million dollar or whatever the hell deal and make
your percentage. Like the guy is still out there playing,
but all he's doing is like, hey.
Speaker 5 (25:03):
Nice shot.
Speaker 7 (25:05):
That's that's uh, you know, that's a that's a windfall,
and not just for the athlete. I mean, how much
more money is Michael Jordan gonna need? I mean, I
know the older son is in coch rehab a few times,
but I mean, I'm pretty sure he can afford it.
Damn what I mean, I'm just saying, we catch Michael
Jordan's kid with a coke spoon and everybody gets all upset.
(25:26):
We catch three of the leaders of the Free world
with a cokespoon and everybody.
Speaker 5 (25:29):
Denies that is that? What is that? What that was?
Speaker 7 (25:33):
It was a bag of cocaine, look like a dime bag.
And then it's this spoon. It was more than a dime.
Oh do you think it was special? K?
Speaker 5 (25:43):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
That's that's what one of them.
Speaker 7 (25:45):
I mean, I'm no stranger, but they both they both
have a similar ingestion procedures.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Is it offensive offensive to call someone special? K? Because
I think I actually used to call a guy special Cat.
I don't think he liked it very much though.
Speaker 5 (25:59):
Well, I was like it was a special act.
Speaker 4 (26:02):
No, no, no, no, I just I used to call him
a special K like you know me he was.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
He was old enough to be like a lot of
young kids now don't know what that drug even is, Curtis,
what was it was? Ken? Oh? There you go? Well,
uh k is?
Speaker 7 (26:18):
Uh wasn't it a wasn't it a cereal for chicks?
Speaker 5 (26:23):
Yes? It was. And then the commercial the hot chick
would get out of the pool and the band in
her legs would look like a K and then it
would morph into the logo and rooster. Right.
Speaker 7 (26:36):
Yeah, but special K, I believe is part of Kennemine
is like a horse tranquilizer. Yeah, very popular drug in
the gay and club community. Uh, it could have been
special K, but it just looked like some classical.
Speaker 8 (26:49):
Yeah to me, brother, Yet, so you mentioned him, you
mentioned him briefly earlier.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
But what do you make of the coverage of Bill
Belichick's love life?
Speaker 2 (27:13):
And have you've seen a college football coach's love life?
Speaker 5 (27:17):
Uh, it's just really weird.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
Be discussed as much as it has been over.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
The past several weeks.
Speaker 7 (27:23):
Well, it's not just a college football coach, right, you know,
we're not talking about you know, Brennan Mary and the
head coach at Sacramento State.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
Stingers up, let's go Hornets. Sack Town. Suck up, Yeah,
sack up, suck up. That's what the Oakland A's are
playing right now.
Speaker 7 (27:41):
Hell yeah they are. I heard there's some good wine
country out there. Is that true in northern California? Yeah,
wine country?
Speaker 5 (27:52):
God damn that.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
Around Sacramento though, knows NAPA.
Speaker 7 (28:00):
There's a great deal of well there's Sonoma too, but
there's a there's a great deal of gang activity. Yeah,
around Sacramento. Yeah, one of the toughest. There's wine gangs
around Sacramento.
Speaker 5 (28:10):
Yeah, dude. The gerverts demeanors versus them, or.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Those thelings versus the thes are known for their drive
by shooting around.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Hey, hey, no, step henies a white Zin.
Speaker 7 (28:23):
The wrestlings will leave like an obia, like a voodoo
fetish on your like mark for death, and then they'll
come back. There's a lot of those weird bitch wine
gangs too, like the Boonze Farm Wine.
Speaker 5 (28:39):
They were all pink cross colors.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Hey you're you had sent tripping out here? Hey you're
you're a white Zin. You lost essay?
Speaker 5 (28:47):
Yeah, what's up, bro?
Speaker 7 (28:48):
Why aren't you with your boy Matt Leiner, white Zin
drinker of record essay coming out? Uh so what what
you thought you could do that? And the Sauvignon blocs
were going to respond, you know, Savignon blocks in the house,
(29:08):
you bitch.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
So the Belichick coverage.
Speaker 7 (29:15):
One of the great fights in the history of gangs
in Sacramento was right behind Sutter's fort, you know, the
same guy that had the mill where they discovered the gold.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
And it was tough man.
Speaker 7 (29:27):
It was two homeless gangs, the Thunderbirds versus the night Trade.
Speaker 5 (29:32):
When you're homeless, you've got actual homeless wine. Well no,
but you have wines. I mean I worked.
Speaker 7 (29:40):
I worked at a liquor warehouse and our specialty was
homeless homeless drinks.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
Lee the lap our producer, have a lot in common.
Probably he knows a lot about liquor stores and homeless
Oh you guys are related.
Speaker 5 (29:51):
Well, it hasn't gotten to uh, it hasn't gotten that
bad for Lee yet. Right where he's got where he's.
Speaker 7 (29:58):
Walking alongside the railroad tracks with his sweet Cherry Watt.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
Yeah, yeah, it's Wednesday.
Speaker 6 (30:05):
It's that far down the road.
Speaker 7 (30:07):
Now the Belichick, the Belichick stuff is interesting. Uh, uh,
I don't understand, like the like I know that there's
a few like death spasm favors from the media that
he called in.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
I forget who it was on ESPN that wrote like, hey,
let's call him down about Belt's girl friend.
Speaker 7 (30:30):
You know, guys, there's a reason that and I know
it changed. You know, Dana Holderson was divorced and and uh,
you have single college football coaches. Ed ed Ojaron got
divorced and had his girlfriend carry and stretch zones in
the walk through. Uh, his last year at LSU. I'm
sure there's a lot of stories about that.
Speaker 5 (30:52):
Uh. You know, these are all things that happened.
Speaker 7 (30:54):
But you know, when we were playing, if the if
the college football coach wasn't married, you know, uh, they
weren't really head coach material.
Speaker 5 (31:05):
It was used against them. It was almost like a
politicians not right right, you know, they're like.
Speaker 4 (31:10):
Oh, you kill your son, go play for him that
he's not a married man.
Speaker 7 (31:13):
Yeah, as opposed to like, you know, young bo is
gonna love it here and uh you know, uh Fayetteville,
he can come to Thanksgiving and me and Marcia's house,
you know, like you know, that's the we're family, you know,
that whole thing. And then you look in the media
guide and every coach has their whole family pictured, you know,
(31:33):
in the back of the media guide, and everybody's staring
at the coach's.
Speaker 6 (31:38):
You know, they still do that at football facilities, like
they have pictures of the family on the door, like
outside of the coaches.
Speaker 5 (31:49):
They to go coach to see the beginning, I am
spending my time recruiting and negotiating with fourteen year olds
and these are the people who are emotionally damaged because okay,
but that is not as it's prevalent, you know, especially
you know outside of outside of the big cities. It's
(32:11):
still prevalent. But like the whole the coach needs to
be a family man is not exactly as big of
a thing as it was when we were younger, right, So,
But then Belichick is really testing.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
How many single how many single college head coaches can
you think of?
Speaker 5 (32:33):
Uh, well, I can think of you know, sark And
and Kate Laine and sark recently single for years and
years and years, you know, or.
Speaker 7 (32:43):
I thought that, well, you had a girlfriend or whatever.
Speaker 5 (32:47):
He got divorced pretty quickly after the USC stuff, but
or during that whatever.
Speaker 7 (32:52):
What I'm saying, Ish Holgerson was divorced.
Speaker 5 (32:56):
That was a thing. Uh, there's been a you I
mean it's early.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
Rich Trod didn't know was there something with him?
Speaker 5 (33:04):
Well he had yeah, he went well no, I don't
think he got divorced, but there was a there was
an affair in Arizona.
Speaker 7 (33:12):
I mean, coaches are human and they have terrible problems,
just like the rest of us. But uh, but I
I'm I'm blanking a little bit, But I don't think
it's as prevalent.
Speaker 5 (33:23):
It's not like the anti recruiting tool that it used
to be.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
I mean, Rick Patino had you know, his moments as well. Yeah, yeah,
just you know.
Speaker 5 (33:35):
An Italian restaurant.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
Yeahs, a bottle of red, a bottle of white.
Speaker 6 (33:43):
There go those wine gangs again. Huh, pop up on.
Speaker 5 (33:47):
It's really nice.
Speaker 7 (33:48):
One I called the craziest football game in high school
that I've ever called. It was a state championship and
it was really the most and this I'm saying a
lot by saying, I believe it was the most inner
city style beat up high school that I've ever seen.
(34:10):
And it was not, you know, in LA High School.
Wasn't Crenshaw, you know, we're not everybody's helmets matched.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
Was Joe Clark there, principal Joe.
Speaker 5 (34:19):
It was Grant High, my white students. It was the
Grant High Pacers of Sacramento. And I think if you
look it up, you'll find quite a few pro football players,
or at least some that were there. But that they
played against Long Beach Polly in a state championship game
that I called. And Grant High they.
Speaker 7 (34:43):
Had Booker, that running back that was at Utah that
ended up at Denver. Remember that kid, But I'll never
forget it. Grant High didn't have a punter or a kicker.
I mean they didn't. It was like a video game.
They didn't punt or kick and they're in the state
championship and they beat Long Beach Polly, longtime, very talented
(35:04):
football powerhouse. And of course there was a wild fistfight
right on the fifty after the game between the fan bases.
But speaking of Sacramento, I think that was the most
like down trodden but talented football team I ever saw.
And they didn't even have a kicking game and they
still won. And the Grant High pacer mascot was a
(35:26):
kid in the saddest ass horse outfit I have ever seen.
Speaker 5 (35:31):
God bless Grant High.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
With a bulletproof vest On.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
Who's uh you mentioned the coach there? Who's the guy
financing Sex States? I think get like fifty new players.
Speaker 7 (35:44):
Yeah, there's somebody. There's somebody there pushing it, right. I
don't know who the guy is. It must be count Sacramento,
but yeah, Sacramento State's making a push to try to
because you know, there's a void as far as up north.
I mean you have Fresno, which is sort of in
the middle, San Jose, which is San Jose. Stanford, well,
(36:07):
they're in the ACC, you know, I know, but you know,
somebody's got to play locally out here, and then.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
You're not gonna do the whole staff that's okay.
Speaker 7 (36:16):
Yeah, And Stanford doesn't. They're not really a local team anyway,
even when they were in the Pac ten and twelve,
it's not like they have a fan base in the area.
Speaker 5 (36:27):
Stanford doesn't want a fan base. They they want to reject.
Speaker 7 (36:30):
You know, all of those college football norms, but somebody's
funding Sacramento State, like you know, like a T. Boone
Pickens or Phil Knight, or like the way Liberty University
is funded. So that's great. I hope they end up
in the new pac twelve and do battle with the
Beeves Hornets Beeves.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Oh yeah, Petros, we appreciate it as always at the
old peon X's where you can find him. He is
the co host of the Petros and Money Show, which
you can hear on the Blowtorch Am five to seventy
LA's Ards Fox college Football Analyst and our good buddy
a Wednesday tradition unlike any other pe have a good
rest of your day.
Speaker 5 (37:08):
At what point do we call this a one hit wonder?
Speaker 3 (37:12):
I think we're there.
Speaker 7 (37:14):
I think so, you know, think he's gonna pop up
ten years later like Shade with another number one.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
Is be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros
and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington
and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Now we transition over to this story which you know
we might have somebody with intimate knowledge of this situation
or maybe some of the blowback of it. But there's
a gentleman who I believe is out of Youngstown, Ohio.
Speaker 5 (37:54):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
He is a politician and he has an idea. He's
an Ohio representative. His name is tex Fisher. He has
presented a bill, What's Up Techs that would prevent state
universities in Ohio from competing in games before three point
thirty Eastern time if both teams are ranked.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
In the top ten.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
But it does not apply to games that are part
of a college football tradition. So, in other words, the
game between Ohio State Michigan, that one's fine where it's at.
It's the other ones he's got an issue with, because
people are apparently not happy with these early start.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
Times in Columbus.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
As part of the Big Noon Kickoff, you know, presentation
of their program.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
Did I miss something? Did did someone announce the time
of a game this year?
Speaker 3 (38:45):
Is the first one is a big noon game?
Speaker 4 (38:48):
Correct?
Speaker 5 (38:51):
Well?
Speaker 4 (38:52):
Fox has the game. Did they actually announce a time.
Speaker 5 (38:55):
Of the game.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
I'm not sure if they did.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
Oh, Okay, so it's basically all speculation that they're assuming
now because Fox has the game, that the game would
be at noon, okay, And I assume Text, who's a
really smart guy, right, he's a congressman for the state
of ohiop in Youngstown. I assume he knows the Big
Ten Media rights agreement. You know how much Ohio State's
(39:20):
getting paid, an agreement that they not only agree to,
but also the entire Big Ten Conference agree to back
when Kevin Warren was the commissioner. So I assume that
Text knows that fans for the Buck guys know that
that this was an agreement that they signed up for
in order to make the money they're making every single
year from Fox and from their other TV partners in
(39:43):
CBS and NBC. So I assume everyone knows that like
the seventy five million a year they get, that's part
of it. And I assume they know that because of
this agreement, Fox is locked into a noon window CBS
out of three thirty at NBC at a primetime window.
And in order any of those windows to change, the
porters have to work with one another, which gets complicated,
(40:04):
and sometimes things have to be given and taken sort
of thing.
Speaker 5 (40:08):
So for example, it's just.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
Just hypothetically speaking, if you have a really good game
that another network that's got the rights to the Big
Ten doesn't have Let's just say I knocked on your door,
Jonas in your NBC and I said, hey, I want
to move a game to the night, like a primetime game.
NBC would be like, well, that's our window. You know
what am I going to get in return for this? Well,
(40:32):
we want that game that you have. Well that becomes
a difficult conversation then, because again, in order to move
a game, then you're giving up one of the best
games you've got, which was part of the original agreement.
That's going to take away from overall viewership and then
your ability to be able to make enough money off
of the advertising revenue generated to be able to pay
(40:54):
Ohio State, every other Big Ten school for that matter
in the Big Ten Conference for how much you know
your So it's obviously an incredibly complicated situation. What never
surprises me is that this there's not been a time
associated with any of the games I've been announced yet,
(41:14):
and yet this is the reaction.
Speaker 6 (41:18):
Just from Youngstown. I mean, if he's a representative of Youngstown,
why is he why is he getting involved with what's
going on with Columbus? Like what I feel like I
missed something.
Speaker 4 (41:29):
And it's someone actually did this last year. Again, they
made a comment about it. And what's surprising to me
is that no one from the Big Ten conference, no
one even from the university, wants to actually say to
the fan base like, hey guys, this is the deal
we signed up for, Like we know what we were
getting ourselves into. We're working with our partners, our TV partners,
(41:53):
to figure out a better solution so we get more
atmospheres like the playoff home game atmosphere Ohio State versus Tennessee,
which I was at, which was awesome and I hope
people understand too. Again, there's big noon kickoff, which is
our pregame show, which five, maybe six several times last year,
(42:13):
was not at a game that was at noon. Like,
our pregame show has nothing to do with the slotting
of when Fox puts on what games and what time slots.
Our pregame show has zero to do with that. There's
times where it's correlated, it's matched up where we'll be there.
There's times when it's not. There's multiple games where we
(42:35):
were doing with our show, we were flying out and
there's a game that was kicking off four hours later.
At a three point thirty kick somewhere, you know, somewhere else,
whether it's BYU or down in Texas Tech or wherever else.
Speaker 5 (42:46):
It was.
Speaker 4 (42:48):
Number of times that happened last year, a number of
times it has happened through the years.
Speaker 5 (42:51):
We've done night games. We went to UC Notre Dame,
which was a night game, wasn't.
Speaker 4 (42:56):
Even on our air. So there's an odd idea in
people's minds that big noon kickoff has something to do
with it.
Speaker 5 (43:05):
We're not. We're a pregame show.
Speaker 4 (43:06):
It's no different than when college Game Day goes to
a campus where it's a night game. We've done the
exact same thing, and yet people have this like visceral
towards us, like we have any decision on all that
now in regards to you know, when the games are
picked and where they're slot and all that. That's big
Noon Saturday. You know, that's Joel Klatt, that's Gus Johnson,
(43:27):
that's that crew and how that works, and they don't
have any stand in either. That's to all the executives
and based on the media rights agreement that again the
conference and the team signed up for.
Speaker 5 (43:37):
So I understand the.
Speaker 4 (43:39):
Frustration behind it. And trust me, we, like anyone else,
love for there to be night games. Like I grew
up playing high school football Friday nights. You know, I
obviously went through college football the NFL in primetime. My
first start was on Thursday night. First winever got was
on Monday night football. Like I trust me, I understand
(43:59):
how awesome night games are. I'm as big of an
advocate for it as anyone else, but people need to
disassociate like their crazy passion for it and understand there's
also like a business model to all this, Like Ohio
State has one of the biggest, most robust football staffs
and scouting apartments and everything else in part because of
how much money they make off the TV revenue.
Speaker 5 (44:22):
That's a portion of all of that.
Speaker 4 (44:25):
Without that, you're not going to be able to compete
for national championships. You're not going to be able to
raise as much funding as you can for everything else,
including ANIL which helped in a big way of building
the roster last year. So I would say this, this
would be my message, be patient. There's been no times
that have been given out for these games. And by
(44:48):
the way, I know because I'm a part of it,
and there has not been a time announced for it.
Speaker 5 (44:55):
We'll see what happens once we get to the fall.
Speaker 2 (44:57):
And by the way, even if there was a time announced,
say I don't know, for example, it was new and
Eastern time, people people act like this is some low
level time slot that doesn't get eyeballs. Like, so you're
getting paid and you're getting seen, Like I know it's
not primetime, but let's not pretend like you're throwing them
(45:18):
on in the middle of the night and they're competing
with Hawaii for attention and views. Like people watch these
games like the numbers, the ratings prove it, and for
some reason there's complaint like I don't get it. I
really do not understand, Like I could kind of understand
Oklahoma's ad bitching a couple of years ago because the
games are starting at eleven am. I kind of get that.
(45:42):
But still same thing. You're getting paid, people are watching.
This is a this is a big platform for your
program to be featured.
Speaker 4 (45:50):
Why complain at all?
Speaker 2 (45:51):
If you want to complain, go talk to the PAC
twelve or whatever the hell's left of it, or go
talk to one of these other schools.
Speaker 4 (45:57):
And this what was odd to be last year and
what was odd to be last year not to take
a shot at Penn State. But it was announced before
the season which game would be the White Out, and
it was important because of when the Ohio State Penn
State game fell, which Fox had the right to and
the winner with the World Series. So there's there's not
(46:19):
a ton you can do when you have got multiple
major things going on on your network that you like.
The showcase, which, if I'm not mistaken, was what Yankees Dodgers. Yeah,
small market, so that middle market, like no one cares
about that.
Speaker 5 (46:32):
So upset.
Speaker 4 (46:34):
Yeah they were upset, but but again they should have
been an upset about what we're dating that game, the
white the White Out game versus Washington the beginning of
the season.
Speaker 5 (46:43):
Like it wasn't a surprise. Everyone knew that was.
Speaker 4 (46:46):
Coming at the beginning of the season when when schedule
was announced.
Speaker 6 (46:49):
Yeah, it was in the media. I mean it was
talked to.
Speaker 4 (46:52):
So that was what was odd about it too, is
it was like people were surprised by It's like, oh,
it's Ohio State Penn State.
Speaker 5 (46:57):
They they weren't surprised.
Speaker 6 (46:59):
They just like Pennsylvania people like being upset at stuff
like that's it like it's that simple.
Speaker 3 (47:05):
Is that a thing?
Speaker 6 (47:07):
It's a thing?
Speaker 2 (47:09):
Can you put that in groc like put it in grock?
Do Pennsylvania people like being upset?
Speaker 4 (47:15):
Like being What's odd to me though, is did the
penn State fan base get upset wheny had to play
s m U or on the early game in the playoff?
Did they ge upset about that?
Speaker 6 (47:26):
I think they were just so excited that we were
in the playoffs, you know, and against a team, against
a team that we thought we could win our first
ever game in in Beaver Stadium.
Speaker 5 (47:37):
So that there's that too.
Speaker 4 (47:38):
They were too cold.
Speaker 6 (47:40):
It wasn't like we had, uh, you know, Ohio State
or Oregon coming in in round one to play against us. So,
you know, I don't think people were complaining that that
we had a cold day in State College playing against
esselm U at any time. The fact that we were
playing I think that that was you know, that was good.
So but the white out, the white out hits different.
Speaker 5 (48:03):
Now.
Speaker 6 (48:04):
The people are very protective over.
Speaker 5 (48:09):
What goes on with it.
Speaker 6 (48:10):
Yeah, it's not it's it's it's uh, it's it's like,
you know, not.
Speaker 5 (48:16):
Related to to white people.
Speaker 6 (48:22):
Yeah, Otherwise, I mean, why would I go, you know,
why would I go to the white out?
Speaker 5 (48:27):
You know I was there, been there like white people.
Of course, the white.
Speaker 2 (48:34):
Out has nothing to do with white Imagine somebody somebody
just turned on the radio, just now going to work.
Speaker 5 (48:40):
People people.
Speaker 3 (48:45):
Like, what, don't you?
Speaker 6 (48:47):
I'm just like everybody else. I like, I like some
of them. I don't like some of them. I mean,
that's that goes for for all of them.
Speaker 4 (48:54):
You know, I had a buddy a great way of
addressing society at this point.
Speaker 5 (48:59):
He's like, what would you call me? He goes, I
hate everyone. It doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (49:02):
Who you are, and can be white, could be anything else.
Speaker 5 (49:04):
He goes, I hate everyone.
Speaker 4 (49:05):
I'm like, well, yeah, you're equally applying your hate out
there if you just hate being around people nowadays.
Speaker 3 (49:11):
Lee, do you have grock results on Pennsylvania people?
Speaker 5 (49:14):
I do.
Speaker 9 (49:14):
Indeed, I put in the prompt you had ask to
Pennsylvania people like being upset about stuff, and I got
a very prompt, short answer from Grok. This being Pennsylvanians
like any group, very wildly in their temperament, but there's
no evidence that they're uniquely fond of being upset. The
state's culture spans gritty Philly sports fans will boo their
own team to laid back Amish communities to rust belt
(49:36):
towns with legit economic gripes. If anything they're upset might
be about, be loud pragmatism. I think Pittsburgh is grumbling
about potholes or Eagles fans venting Cathartically ex posts from
PA users often show pride in local identity cheesecakes, steelers,
et cetera over chronic complaining. People here deal with real
issues floods, job loss, opioid crisis, So any frustration is
(49:59):
more context than a love for misery.
Speaker 6 (50:02):
Let me drop that AI in a couple different places
in Pennsylvania and see if it comes back with that
same conclusion. See, that's the problem with AI that they
got to fix is that the AI has to be
able to understand the realness of what situations present, not
not the factual information that you can grab from from
(50:26):
scanning the entire Internet for all, the database of information
that it can do in the quickest sign.
Speaker 2 (50:32):
AI might not be familiar with the critique of James
Franklin locally.
Speaker 6 (50:36):
There, or or Mike Tomlin, or or or the coach
who's the coach in in Philly again.
Speaker 5 (50:43):
What's his name?
Speaker 3 (50:44):
Oh Sirianni. Yeah, I mean bruh. The dude was coming off.
Speaker 4 (50:50):
Of a Super Bowl loss.
Speaker 6 (50:53):
And they were talking about this man was on the
hot seat for his job. That's Pennsylvania. Mike Tomlin hasn't
had a losing season, won his job. James Franklin hasn't
had a losing season and loses to the same two
teams every year. They want his job, Like, that's you.
You can't do enough. That's just how we're wired. We're
(51:16):
just no excuse type of people. And if if something
doesn't go the way that we wanted to go, even
if it does go the way that we wanted to go,
there has to be more or we're gonna complain about it.
It's the weirdest thing, man, It's the weird I don't
know that everybody's like that.
Speaker 5 (51:31):
I know.
Speaker 6 (51:31):
I'm married a person from New Jersey. They could be worse.
They could be worse in theory than what we are
the Southern Jersey. But with that being said, that's like
an extension of Pennsylvania, like South Jersey is like the
Philly side of New Jersey. They complain with a mix
(51:54):
of New Jersey and Pennsylvania in it, and it makes
it a little bit more belligerent. And it's just it's, uh,
it's just there. It's just there, like it's like New Jersey,
New York. New Jersey is like f off, like forget
about it, f off right, it's just real quick. As
a matter of fact. You know, they love putting their
(52:15):
business on the tabloids. If you made the cover of
the tabloids, like you're the one that's going to get
complained about. But pretty much everybody's too busy doing something else.
We got closed down meals. We got a whole bunch
of people that are out of jobs, like blue collar workers,
lunch pale, hard hat people. They don't get the same
opportunities that you know people back in the day, simpler
(52:38):
forms of living. And we complain, like we can plain,
but we do it. That's the thing. We get up
and we do what we gotta do. But we will
complain your god dang head off all the way off
till it's ready to pop, Like, dude, can you just
shut the f up? And that's to one another. We
(52:58):
fight a lot, you know, but we love each other.
We go drink Iron City or we go drink beers,
go see games and stuff like that. That's why sports
are so important to us in PA, because it's like
kind of like our only, our only release of the
other things that we're complaining about. So if we got
to complain about sports, that you're going to get it
way worse.
Speaker 5 (53:17):
Yeah, the PA. Speaking of pain.
Speaker 4 (53:20):
By the way, guys, I've been dealing with back pain
myself playing a little far too much golf these days.
But I know the right mattress. It makes all the
difference in the world. So mattress firms, sleep experts. They'll
help you find your perfect bed for your unique needs.
Get matched up mattress firms. But more they sail and
sleep at night.
Speaker 2 (53:39):
I would like to just also say this one thing
about the people complaining about.
Speaker 4 (53:43):
The Star Times.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
What the hell is wrong with getting a sporting event
out of the way early and having the whole rest.
Speaker 4 (53:49):
Of your evening to yourself. What's wrong with that? The
kids are boozing as much nowadays, do you know that
the consumption amongst that generation is actually down. That's why
you get a lot of the non alcoholic beer that's
coming around. Well, I've got a buddy who's in the industry,
and he's like, yeah, he's like our some of our
best selling stuff now is non alcoholic beer or non
alcoholic beverages.
Speaker 3 (54:09):
I mean, listen, nobody's perfect. That's fine.
Speaker 2 (54:11):
We're not going to judge people who are too soft
to have a couple of cocktails.
Speaker 4 (54:15):
But look like, what it really means is has to
pick up the slack for everyone else, which I don't
think he has any problem doing.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
So what I'm here for because I can tell you this,
A Friday day game at Wrigley Field is among the
best atmospheres you can go to.
Speaker 4 (54:31):
And guess what.
Speaker 2 (54:32):
They're out of there before four o'clock and they just
start letting it fly and they get the whole rest
of the night to themselves. So stop bitching about a
twelve o'clock start. You're out of there by three point
thirty four o'clock and you got your Saturday night plan
for you.
Speaker 3 (54:45):
Let you do multiple things at once.
Speaker 5 (54:47):
I like that too, But a night game is the ball.
Speaker 4 (54:51):
It's pretty sweet because.
Speaker 5 (54:52):
You get faded the whole entire day.
Speaker 6 (54:55):
Yeah, stumble your ass right on into that gig o.
Speaker 3 (55:01):
Honey, game doesn't start for seven hours. Where are you
going parking? Sorry go.
Speaker 5 (55:10):
We are go like, oh levart is fried. Yeah, ready
to go.
Speaker 4 (55:19):
Let's score the Spikes game Spikes playing.
Speaker 6 (55:22):
Damn no, that ain't true, shouts out to the Spikes.
That's where we be. You've seen it, that's where we be. Baby,
Yeah it is sneakers. Yeah what up John's
