Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is a game. Let me let me catch you
want NFL experience, and this is the show for you.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Third Law with LeVar Ary Tent as a defense, Ive
got TJ Houshman Zana.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
I'm just bringing the viewers into how grown men in
the locker room, like I don't play with some dude
that you disrespect them anyway, it didn't matter who it
was they was putting hands on you and Blaxico Burress,
they are the same person, the same exact quarterback.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
He's a show with three of the best to ever
do it on and off the field, and not live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Here's Pro Bowlers LeVar
Ary Tent, TJ Hushman, Zanna, and Silper Bowl champion Blaxicopets.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
All right, all right, all right, welcome into the show.
This is up on game, and well it's a special
up on game because it's supposed fourth of July. Hope
you guys enjoyed your Fourth of July. Hope you're still
enjoying the festivities of your weekend. We got a lot
(01:17):
to get to and not a whole lot of time
to do, so we'll talk Steelers and Dolphins trade. Start
off with the Steelers. They've been a hot topic in
the media, especially on our show. And we'll get to
a few other things during our one, but uh yeah,
let's uh, you know where we always start. How you
feeling plexile? How's everything going man?
Speaker 4 (01:38):
How you doing? Man?
Speaker 5 (01:39):
Everything's beautiful, man, just you know, kicking back here on
the Lovely East coach Man. We got some really really
fantastic weather, you know, coming out of the fourth and
this Saturday.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
And as soon as the show goes off, the grill
goes on.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
So you go back on. Come on man, Okay, boy,
that's what we do, hey, man, that is what we do.
We was doing something, man, we had had I had
a beam o over yesterday. Byron came over and brought
some brisket over it.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
Man, He.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
And his beautiful wife Monica made some potato salad, and
uh it was. It took me back home, bro. Like
it was a potato salad that took me back to
my childhood. I was happy about it. I got to say, though,
there was one little hiccup that took place. So we
you know, we got a rooftop lounge on our crib
(02:34):
and we got it all set up, and you know,
we haven't been up there much, but you know, it's
fourth of July, so we're going to get to see
all of the all of the fireworks, everything everywhere, Like like, Bro,
everywhere anywhere there was fireworks. We could see him from
where we're sitting. Well, we have a fire pit up there, right,
(02:55):
but it's a portable fire pit. It's like one of
the ones that you know you can move around. You
can move it around out of dob to make it
to the like you know, amveance that you're creating wherever
you at, maybe your back back of your you know,
your backyard, or wherever you may be, on a porch whatever.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
So we.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
They put like four logs on the joint man, and
it looked like our house was on fire.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
We up there having a good old time.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
We listened to music.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Next thing you know, you see the fire department is
the lights is on, and I'm like, look they coming
up to hill. I was like, man, it's funny because
you can see them. So they're down the hill and
I'm looking at I was like, man, I said, somebody
out here just acting bad. They going, Man, the fire
department going to be out all night. They gonna have
all kinds of stuff they got to deal with. Bruh,
(03:47):
fireworks in la is crazy. Man, It's crazy. I heard
fireworks from sun up to sundown, non stop, bro, non stop.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Imagine bro.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Anyway, so so so I see the lights and I'm like, man, like,
they getting closer and closer.
Speaker 4 (04:06):
Plex I'm like, what, oh they coming to my house?
Turned on that road.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
I start walking down. I'm like, alrighty, no, where is it?
So anyway, they were really cool. People appreciate the fire
department in Redondo. Beach Man shouts out to them, men
and women that service first responders. But we we we
put the around.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
Did you have a solo stove.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
It's like it's one of the ones, you know how
like recycles the heat. It keeps it in and it
spins the heat around and then circulates it around and
warms the whole area. I mean that it was warm.
It's all get out, bro. It was nice. It was warm.
It was just too big of a fire. And I
think like that, you know, we'd be having them wildfires
out here. So I think people were kind of in
a little bit of a panic. But anyway, all right,
(04:58):
let's let's get to some one who or or a
topic where people could be panicking or not panicking.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
We we will get TJ in a moment, I believe,
but we'll we'll see see how that plays out. But
plex your Pittsburgh Steelers as a team, Mike, Pittsburgh Steelers
as a fan.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
We didn't get an opportunity to talk about this since
this has happened, But a trade took place where the
Dolphins sent John new and and and Ramsey to Pittsburgh
for Fitzpatrick uh to Miami and and now you bring
in John new Smith, you bring in uh Ramsey Jaalen Ramsey.
(05:39):
This has been a very active offseason for the Steelers,
and in fact, it's been an active off season where
they've addressed the offense where generally, you know, it's known
that the Steelers put their money in and make key signings,
generally on the defensive side of the ball. Now they
brought in Jalen Ramsey.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
People may be aware of the fact that an aging
Darius Slay has also joined the team. Uh. They made
some other quiet additions, uh, the departures being Preston Smith
on a Joby was released, Larry Larry Yrjoby was released,
Minka Fitzpatrick, which traded, so now you don't have him,
(06:24):
but you've added Aaron Rodgers, You've added Darius Slay, You've
added gang Well, Kenneth Gangwell, You've added Malik Harrison, which
gives you debt. But the big signings obviously being DK Metcalf.
Now they have Jalen Ramsey and now they have John
new Smith that they've added to the team.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
Is this enough?
Speaker 2 (06:47):
They just gave American and a contract extension for three years.
Seemingly that is a congratulatory reward for his efforts. Do
you think that's what it is? And do you see
that Steelers team going in the right direction.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
I think the first thing is that Mike Tomlin and
this organization are recognizing that they need to get better.
Because I can't remember the Pittsburgh still is making this
many moves in free agency. They all wanted a very
few organizations that they don't make big splashes in free agency.
(07:28):
They build up their guys, they scout them, they draft them,
and guys in Pittsburgh for ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen years.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
That's the way this organization is built.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
But I think they're realizing that, you know, listen, the
AFC North is probably the most competitive division in all
of football. You got Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase.
They know that they need to be able to slow
these offenses down.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
So what do you do.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
You signed Jayalen Ramsey, you signed Darry your slave, and
obviously you go out and get Aaron Rodgers. You add
DJ Metcalf. You have to be able to compete in
this division offensively and defensively. And they know that because
I mean, we can sit right here and agree that
the Stillers are probably, you know, the third best team
(08:21):
in the division. Yeah, nobody's going to put them ahead
of Baltimore or Cincinnati regardless. So they had to find
a way to get better. But I really did not agree.
I don't like to make a fixed patch of train.
I really don't. I think he fits what Pittsburgh wants
to do only. I mean, he's only had one of
(08:43):
exceptions in the last two years. But he's a run
for safety and you knew that when you bought him there,
So find some pieces around him, try to keep him
in the house, keep him in that secondary. Because the
Baltimore Ravens are gonna run the football. You're going to
have to have some guys on that second level to
(09:05):
be able to defense the run if you're playing in
the AFC North.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
So I didn't like the trade.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
I think Mica Fitzpatrick's fits what the Pittsburgh Steelers want
to do defensively, and they're going to miss him. I mean,
obviously you got Jaalen Ramsey and Darius Slay. You got
two pretty good corners. Derri Slay, you're getting a little older,
but in the back end, man, you're gonna need you.
Pittsburgh has always had a safety that canfield a run,
(09:33):
and you know, we don't know who that person is
going to be now, but I think they recognize that
we have to get better.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
If not, then we're not going to be able to
compete in this division.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
It's interesting. Darius Slay is thirty four years old. He's
been in for a little little bit, and they it's
projecting that he may start maybe the starter, and that
they're going to figure out where Jalen Ramsey, where he
he makes his entry. It could be at safety conversion
from corner to safety. He's at thirty years old, so
(10:06):
he's not out of his prime yet. You'd say he's
probably maybe hitting you know, in the middle of his prime,
maybe towards the end of it, if we're looking at
that position, and also the ability for them to switch
positions and possibly play that safety's position. I think that's
an interesting point you make. Pittsburgh has always had a safety.
(10:30):
In fact, they may have had two safeties that would
come up and hit you. You know, from the times
that they had you know, Darren Perry back there, to
when you know Cornell Lake was back there, to you know,
having Ryan Clark and having Troy Polamalu back there. I mean,
pick your poison. Both of them will hit you in
the mouth in the run game or anywhere else on
(10:53):
the field. So they have had a physical defensive backfield.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
You know.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
My biggest concern that I've been raising during the course
of the week plex has really been based around the
the personality of what the Pittsburgh Steelers have represented through
the years has always been somewhat of a conservative, maybe
quiet type of movement, may maybe considered to be less
(11:20):
chaotic in the off season, very very subtle deals that
may have made, you know, made things happen for their team,
but never two off seasons back to back where you
sit there and you may find yourself scratching your head
just a little bit, if not more. Last year, you
bring in Justin Fields and you bring in Russell Wilson.
(11:42):
You didn't pay either one of them. You got a
year with them before you were going to decide what
you were going to do, and they're gone. That just
doesn't seem very steeler like. How quickly they're moving in
and out of players, and then you trade in one
for you trade in two really for one that comes
(12:02):
in that's potentially only going to give you one year
in Rogers? How much I mean to me? How much?
How much weight does Aaron Rodgers carry on his shoulders
to have a good season for for this team before retiring?
How much pressure does a newly signed Amir Khan or
(12:23):
excuse me, uh, what's what's CON's first name? Am I
Blanke's first name? Omar? Yes, thank you sir?
Speaker 6 (12:31):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (12:32):
How much pressure is on him? Now you get a
new contract. But if this doesn't work, how does how
is this perceived?
Speaker 4 (12:40):
How does this?
Speaker 2 (12:41):
How does this play out for Mike Tomlin? I continue
to have the conversation about how much pressure this brings
to Mike Tomlin? How do you see this? If it
doesn't happen to work out with all of these seemingly
one year contract Guys.
Speaker 5 (12:57):
I'm gonna be honest with you, man, I think that
the writings on the wall. You know, I really do
for Mike Tomlin. I played for him for two years. Man,
He's a he's a hell of a coach. He's a
great man. But right now, the moves that have been
made over the last you know, two years for this organization,
like you said, it's not still alike. And I, uh,
(13:20):
when I came in as a rookie in two thousand,
it was it was Omar's first year there, so we
all came in together. I know that Mike Tomlin is
uh invested in and the and every all these trades
and everything that's being made. He's in the room, he's
(13:40):
agreeing with it and for this organization. But I'm just
looking at right now. I mean, you look at Aaron Rodgers.
It's for one year. So you can't you can't build
an organization, you know, moving forward if you just signed
in quarterbacks for one year.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
I mean that this is what it is right now.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
The Pittsburgh still is a just saving face with Ann Rogers,
We're gonna try to get through this year not be
a terrible football team, and we're just going to put
a product out there on Sundays that can win a game.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
I mean, you can't look at.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
This football team right now say, you know what, they're
competing in the division and they're going to get to
the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
They're not.
Speaker 5 (14:29):
So they're not going to put a They're putting the
team out there basically right now that that could go
out and produce some wins. But nobody really expects this
team to get into the playoffs, especially with the division
that they're playing in.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Mm hmmm uh. Those are some some strong words from
Plexico Burst there, who would probably know just as well
as anyone knowing that you you know, the inner workings
of the franchise from being there. It's an interesting conversation.
And there's also the other sides of these trades that
take place. The Miami Dolphins, they were the recipient of
(15:10):
the trade partner of the Pittsburgh Steelers plex and they
received Minka Fitzpatrick, as you mentioned, on the other side
of that break on that trade. But they actually made
an acquisition that I want to discuss a little bit
further along with the Minka Fitzpatrick acquisition as well with
(15:31):
the Miami Dolphins. But this is up on game and
we're going to take a quick break on you guys.
But you just got your teaser. We're gonna talk Miami
Dolphins on the other side of break. I just recalled
and remembered in my messages that TJ was going to
be in Vegas for the holidays. So it's me and Plexico,
(15:51):
Plexico and myself carrying you guys through our one cuffs.
The Legend will be joining us in hour two to
talk back to get you in the basketball arena as well.
So stay strapped in, sit tight. We're gonna take a
quick break. On the other side of the break, we're
gonna talk to the other side of the trade. We're
gonna talk to Miami Dolphins and see what they got
(16:12):

the Steelers and how it may impact the Steelers. I
don't know that the prognosis is positive for the Steelers.
It's just hard. It's a it's a tap bit confusing
(19:55):
because it's outside of the realm of what the Steelers
generally do. It seems to be a little bit more
chance taking, risk taking for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But on
the other side of it, we look at the recipients
of what took place in this trade, and you have
(20:16):
the Miami Dolphins who have well they get Meka Fitzpatrick
where that is where Menca actually started his career. So
he's heading back to where it all started. How do
you see, you know what took place with them and
where they're at right now. I mean they you know,
(20:38):
they they lost some some key guys, you know, they
they lost uh what uh Tyron Tehran, I'm blanking on
Why do always blank on names? But anyways, they added
they added Javon Holland, they they added a guard and
Robert Jones.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
They brought in the tight end, but the bigger name
at tight end we'll get to in a second end
and obviously Waller. They added to Shaun han who was
you know, defense tackle, pretty good ball player. They got
some guys, they added Raheem mostert to to the to
the scenario. They've kept the Cheetah, they got Jalen Waddle.
(21:22):
They have players, you know, they have some players. But
there's been a lot of speculation that this team may
not be maybe their window to being a Super Bowl
contender has closed. I mean, I don't know that it
was ever open.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
But in a.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Surprising move, right, in a surprising move from from losing
John new Smith, they signed Darren Waller from from being
you know, retired, he retired. Here Here's what Here's what
Waller had to say, maybe no more than two weeks
or so, two or three weeks ago ago in an
(22:00):
interview when he was talking about when he knew it
was the end of his career. This is who they
brought in to replace what they lost in their trade
with Johnny Smith. Take a listen.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
I almost just lost my life.
Speaker 7 (22:15):
And I don't know if I really feel like if
I would have died that I would have felt great
about how my life was going if I died at
the time. I'm doing something that I found a lot
of joy in and have had amazing moments with, but
(22:37):
the passion has slowly been fading. I've made the decision
that I'll be retiring from the NFL. You know, there's
eternally grateful for the game of football. I wouldn't be
able to have this conversation, or to think things through
or be self reflective if it wasn't for an opportunity
(22:58):
to save my life and go to rehabs the NFL
offered me. They also gave me an opportunity to you know,
re establish myself, to you know, come back into the
world and do something productive.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
That's a different quote than what I put in, but
that's okay, It's still relevant to the conversation. I Mean,
he basically right there, he's letting everyone know that, you know,
he needed to take some time for himself, and maybe
that's just the biggest key to all of this was
him taking some time off to get himself back together.
I mean, there was a more focused approach to him
(23:36):
saying he didn't want to play anymore. He was in
a game. They were using him as a full back,
he was a lead blocker. He's like, Wow, the hell
am I playing the game? I'm done? And now a
year later, after taking a season off, he's back. Do
you see this as a good move by the Dolphins?
Is it much to do about nothing. It's a guy
you bring in you see if he can do it.
(23:56):
If he can do it, you keep him. If he doesn't,
then you let him go. What's your take on it?
You know what?
Speaker 5 (24:02):
Man, I had the opportunity to, you know, meet Darren
waller Man when he came here to the New York
Giants and to sit down and speak with him and
have a conversation. And uh, he's a very you know, intelligent,
passion passionate young man.
Speaker 7 (24:18):
Man.
Speaker 5 (24:19):
He's been through a lot in his personal life. If
you don't know her story, look it up. You know
all the things that he's overcame and giving back to
the community and you know, you know, helping people who
are homeless and all of those things.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
Uh, he's a great young man. So I think I
think he was going through a lot personally.
Speaker 5 (24:43):
Outside of football that he needed to take a step
back from, you know, from from from where he was
when he was in New York.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
And you know, going back to his quote and and
to what he said, he's he came.
Speaker 5 (24:57):
He came from Las Vegas, he came from the Raiders,
he came to the he came, he came to the Giants,
and he had him back there playing fullback.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
I mean, you're a tight end. You're not You're not built.
Speaker 5 (25:09):
You know, psychologically or mentally as a tight end to
be running up in the two and four hole taking
on middle linebackers and and and and and uh, you know, Aligneman,
that's not how we are built as players. So I
think it had more to do with, you know, a
(25:30):
lot of things that he had going on outside outside
of football. And I don't I don't. I don't really
think he wanted to be here in New York playing
playing for Brown day Ball. I mean, I really honestly
believed that it wasn't a good situation. Uh, James Dames
Jones is that quarterback. Uh, they weren't using him as
a tight end and what they bought him here for.
(25:50):
So he told to step back. And now that you know,
he was traded, traded to traded to the Dolphins. But
I really believe that, you know, he's a good young player.
He may not be the great tight end that he
was in two thoy nineteen and twenty when he was
playing with the Raiders, because when this young man was healthy,
he was one of the best tight ends in all
the football, so hopefully he can get back to some
(26:13):
of that kind of form. Obviously, the Miami Dolphins are
going to throw the football. He's going to get a
lot of single coverage over the middle of the football field.
So I really expect for him to go out and
you know, play well. I mean, he's a great talent.
When he's healthy, he can run and play with the
best of them. But he just has to stay healthy
(26:37):
because he's had a lot of lower extremity injuries, you know,
hamstrings and growings and different things like that. But when
he's healthy, I know he can really go out and
you know, dominate that part of the football field, especially
when you put him out there with jaylen'wallall Tyree Hill
and you know, all of these fast young men. He
(26:58):
can really just go out and play ball.
Speaker 7 (27:00):
Mmmm.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
They got Nick Westbrook, I king they got that. They
got they got some guys now. But there has been
a lot of speculation that again, maybe the window of
opportunity is closing for for this team. I mean, you
look at their quarterbacks. It's it's kind of interesting. You
got Zach Wilson slated as the backup. You got Quinn Yours,
(27:24):
who I think that's an interesting name to pay attention to.
It doesn't seem as though they are lacking talent with
what it is that that they're doing. You know what
what they have going on, and and you know, listen
you look at their defense. They they have Chop Robinson
coming back. They have some guys that that can play.
(27:46):
You know, you throw Minka Fitzpatrick into the mix. You know,
you got Marshall, you know you got you got Benito,
Benito Jones, who's a big interior lineman. You know, they
could have a very formidable defensive front. I mean, they
lose kalay As Campbell. I doubt he's coming back. I'm
pretty certain he's done. You have some interesting names, not
(28:07):
big big names. I mean, Bradley Chubb is a name.
Yeah they may recognize and know, But I mean, do
you think that this is a team where they're at currently,
is one that can compete and contend and try to
knock off the Buffalo Bills to win the AFC South, a.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
FC East East East.
Speaker 5 (28:30):
Yeah, it's the AFC East, But I mean, I think
this is really one of the one of the divisions
in football that's wide open. I can't sit here and
say that the Buffalo Bills are just going to go
out and completely dominate this division. I mean, obviously, Josh
Allen was giving the MVP award last year, nobody really
(28:50):
agrees that he was the MVP of the league. But
I really believe that the Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills
are neck and next for winning this division. I mean,
it's just one of the one or two games that
you just have to be able to win. When you
go against each other and win the football games that
(29:11):
you're supposed to win. That's always serious. I don't see that.
I just don't see it. But it's always been that
way for the Miami Dolphins. They're like one or two
games out of not making the playoffs. They go on
these stretches where they win three to four in a
(29:31):
row and then they lose a game of two games
that they're not supposed to lose. And that's just been
the history of what they've been doing for the last
twenty five years since I've been in the league. They've
always had a lot of talent. I mean, you're playing
in Florida, you should be one of the best in
(29:51):
shape football teams in all of football. But you can't
find a way to get into the playoffs and to
make a deep run. So when you talk about the
window closing, I don't think that never was a window,
to be honest with you. I mean it was a window,
but it had blind curtains.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
Every day. Get the window open the window they couldn't.
But hey, man, they have a lot of good, good
young talent.
Speaker 5 (30:24):
But I just really believe, man, and we always talk
about this, it comes down to quarterback play in this business.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
Man.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
If you don't have a quarterback that can go out
and manage the football game, not turn the football over
and make good decisions, you can't win in this league.
And time again, I don't believe that's tool. I just
I really don't.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
Well, there you go, another high take, and I'll tell
you who else gives us hot takes. But it's on
trending news and sports. It's our guy, Isaac Glowing cron.
What are you got for us to sir?
Speaker 8 (31:01):
You have a rooftop lounge on your crib too?
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Huh yeah, my crib be having that rooftop lounge dip
going on. You know what I mean, I know what
you mean.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
You know you know what we call ours the roof
we call it the roof.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
Some people call it an attic. You know what I mean?
But ours is is outside. You know, it's the roof,
all right, roofp.
Speaker 8 (31:24):
You say tomato, I say Tomati.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (31:27):
You Hey.
Speaker 8 (31:27):
Dramatic finishing round three at Wimbledon moments ago, as American
Emma Navarro just defeated defending Wimbledon champion Barbora, Create.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
Chikova two six six threes.
Speaker 8 (31:38):
Bless you Barbora, not Barbara Barbora.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
I thought you sneezed.
Speaker 8 (31:43):
Create Chikova, Create Chikova. Okay, yeah, ruminate on that next
time you're hanging out on the rooftop lounge. Just sit
there with a cigar. There you go, a nice beverage
and say, here you go, create Chicova, Chica.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
And now you toasted that.
Speaker 8 (32:02):
I'll tell you what. She won't be toasting the Wimbledon
title for a second straight year because of Navarro's exploit
second straight year. In Navarro's advance to the fourth round
in sw nineteen, she ultimately made it to the quarterfinals.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Last year.
Speaker 8 (32:14):
American Daniel Collins, meanwhile, was defeated by eight seed Igach
Fiantek six two sixty three baseball Friday night, the Houston
Astros defeat of the Los Angeles Dodgers eighteen to one.
It was the Dodgers' largest margin of defeat ever at
Dodger Stadium. Finally, we have some fresh NBA social media
(32:35):
news for you guys. Today, New Houston Rocket Kevin Durant
posted a picture on social media of blocks of ice
in a basement. At first, people did not really understand
what it was or what he was trying to convey
by that, but the blocks of ice in a basement
(32:56):
turned out to be the background from a scene in
a music video of the Drake song what Did I Miss?
Speaker 2 (33:04):
What I Miss?
Speaker 8 (33:05):
One of my personal favorites thanks to a frantic Google
search moments ago. But subsequently, a gentleman with a whopping
one hundred and thirty four followers named at Real Underscore
Freako made a critical comment about Durant's post, for which
to which Durant himself responded, quote, I really have to
(33:25):
applaud how you new era jen Xx babies are such
dedicated haters of everything.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
They really are.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
I mean, he's very true. That's a very that's a
very accurate stand. Not very smart either, by the way
take the time to try to educate yourself on stuff
before you comment on it. But they don't. They don't.
I'm just saying, though, And I don't feel like it's
new loo. I just feel like social media exposes it.
Speaker 8 (33:54):
I don't disagree with that, but when you are of
the status of Kevin Durant and the bank accoun out
of Kevin Durant, I just don't think it's the most
effective use of a Saturday to be clapping back at
at real underscore freako and it's one hundred and thirty
four followers back to you.
Speaker 4 (34:13):
Man, he always clasped back on social media.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
Yeah, I mean I love that. I love clapping back
trolling trolls. I enjoy it. I ain't gonna lie. I
enjoyed it. It's therapeutic. It may not make much sense
at all, but I enjoy having moment. I enjoy manipulating
the d bags too, like I do post that actually
antagonized them, you know, like I set one of them
(34:36):
up really good the other day and they came back
and they called me a monkey in and I was like,
you know what, now, your your mom is like I
hit him, Like, I enjoyed it when I did it,
you know what I mean, really enjoyed it. Anyways, like
I enjoyed this show. We're going to get to the break.
On the other side of the break, we're going to
talk about some of the topics we didn't get to.
Can you Pickett JPP? Super quick round? All right, on
(34:58):
the other side of break, this is up on game
is Fox Sports Radio and don't let that be you
all right, just be one of the good ones. We'll
be right back Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
All right, welcome back into the show. You're listening to
one game, Yes, the Return of the Mac.
Speaker 4 (35:25):
You know.
Speaker 5 (35:26):
You like this song, man, it doesn't it like take
you back like old school, old day barbecues in the
backyard and whatever. This song comes on, people just start dancing.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
Yeah, this is one of those songs. It came back
like it was like a new song, you know. Anyway,
I know there's been a lot of sound coming out
of Cleveland and some sound coming from JPP. I believe
do we have sound on the JPP. Pat, No, we
do not. We do not have sound get me the
(36:00):
rundown on obviously the fourth of July just took place.
I know, Plexico, you you've got a great relationship with JPP.
He's made it a point to talk about it and
say that he wants to return to the NFL. Pat,
give it to me.
Speaker 6 (36:16):
Yees. No.
Speaker 9 (36:17):
So JPP actually had an article that actually came out
yesterday where he talked about his you know, his accident
with through his hands on the fourth of July. Right,
but he actually came back saying that he wants to
return back to the NFL. And granted he did not
play at all last year. For in twenty twenty four,
(36:37):
he's been out and he's you know, a little bit old,
but he's telling everybody I want to come back. I
want to be you know, I still got enough in
it and he he wants he wants me to come back.
Don't call the comeback it's return of the mac. Maybe
it's return to the JPP.
Speaker 2 (36:51):
There we get thus the song coming back in from
the break, plex, How do you feel about JPP making
a turn at this point in his career, Man.
Speaker 5 (37:04):
It doesn't even seem like to me that JPP is
an old man. It just seems like yesterday that he
came in and you know he was lighting the league
up man, getting around the edge and second quarterbacks and
doing all those great things when he was playing. But man,
Tom waits for no man, And I really do believe
(37:29):
that if he wants to go out and play, if
he's inspired and motivated, I mean, he can go out
and have a football team. I mean he's a street
his athleticism is through the roof, maybe a little older.
But if he wants to come back and play, Man,
if I'm a football team back and you know, bring
them in and you know, uh, you know, paying Morris,
(37:49):
he wants to be paid. Man, I really think that
he can go out and contribute to a defensive line,
you know, in this league. I mean he knows how
to play. Super Bowl Champion. Obviously he didn't play last year,
but I mean he can still go out on the
football field in Sundays and have an impact.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
Yeah, he's actually thirty six years old, so by the
stretch of what a pass rusher would be, he's really
not crazy old. You could probably get about two three
more years of really really productive football, depending on the
shape that you're in. But it'd be interesting to see.
He's an interesting story. He's had his ups and his downs,
(38:29):
but he is a two time Super Bowl champ, one
time first first team All Pro, which is pretty big.
He's had a pretty decent career by all stretches of
the imagination. Been made Pro Bowls three times, and yeah,
he's had a pretty pretty nice career. It would be
interesting to see what happens there. We'll keep an eye
(38:50):
on that. But before we wrap up this segment and
get to hour two where we start talking round ball
instead of basketball, I mean instead of football, we will
be talking basketball Kenny Pickett. It came out that, you know,
the coaching staff is looking at Kenny Pickett as the
guy that maybe is in the lead to start and
(39:11):
and kind of gave way to the conversation of Flacco
looking as though he is set up to be the
backup to Kenny Pickett based upon Kenny Pickett's ability to
run the ballplex the mobility that gives them some options
to do more than what they would do with Flacco.
But now it continues to raise the questions one is
(39:33):
Kenny Pickett the answer for this? Cleveland Browns team two.
What does that mean for Gabriel and Sanders in terms
of what they're going to do? They already have one
and Deshaun Watson that even though he's not on the
active roster, he you know, he's still a quarterback that's
on the team. So they in effect have five quarterbacks,
(39:56):
but for that are are active. Do you think there? Again,
do you think that the conversation will continue to be
they're going to carry four quarterbacks? How do you see
this playing out? It's a long jam.
Speaker 5 (40:11):
Yeah, I don't see how you can carry four quarterbacks.
I've never seen or witness it before on an NFL team,
But you know what, it just seems like to me
over the last twenty five thirty years that the Cleveland
Browns has just had a problem finding a franchise quarterback.
(40:33):
And I don't believe anything that comes out of there
Cleveland from a quarterback and standpoint unless I see it
on the football field. Because Kenny Pickett, this is his
third team in the last you know, four or five years,
So you're saying that now Kenny Pickett is going to
be the guy. He's going to be the guy, He's
going to be the start of mobile and all of
(40:55):
those things. But until he really gets out of the
football field and is able to navigate an offense and
move them up and down a football field, I just
don't believe anything that the Cleveland Browns have to say
from a quarterback standpoint. I will say that just over history,
that Joe Flacco is probably going to be the best
(41:17):
quarterback that you have in the building right now. Black,
I don't know what Dylan Graber is. We don't know
what Shador Sanders is right now as a quarterback. So
everybody's just going to have to sit and wait to
see who's going to be the next starting quarterback for
the Cleveland Browns because I don't know who is going
(41:40):
to be out of the four.
Speaker 4 (41:41):
I mean, I really don't.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
I just don't know how you get to transitioning from
a starting quarterback all the way to the third string
or fourth string quarterback of a team. That to me
is the biggest conundrum or brain brain teaser. How are
you going to get the one that those guys. It'll
be interesting to see how that plays out. We'll continue
to give updates on that as well. We are rounding
(42:07):
out our one hitting and the Hour two cuffs the
Legends in a short fuge seconds. This is up on
game Fox Sports Radio. Will be right back
