Aaron Donald. We're also going to talk about the NFLPA.
Where are you Baker Mayfield has thoughts as he should, gambling,
paranoia and the usual suspects have dysfunction in the NFL
already and it's yours coming up next here, Two Pros
and a Cup of Jona Football Friday, Fox Sports Radio
(00:43):
give this. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio, Well, come on,
(01:04):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. You can listen
to this show as always on the iHeartRadio app. You
can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across the
country and wherever you are making us a part of
your Friday morning, we appreciate you doing so. We're going
to take you all the way up until nine am
Eastern time, six o'clock Pacific. How the hell we feel
(01:27):
in here on a Friday, Brady Quinn Ready to rock and.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Roll, man. Although I will say this, a lot of
those nights, the sleepless things having out on the West Coast,
I think they're starting to catch up with me. It
was one of those where, like I woke up this morning,
I was like, oh no, oh no, I already kind
of feel it, kind of coming on, little under the
weather type a weekend headed my way. You know.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
I was actually randomly thinking about this because I was
listening to an interview and there was a guy talking
about fighting overseas and he was talking about jet lag,
and I was trying to think. The only time I
I would have ever had jet lag is on our
flight to Ireland. When does jetlag normally kick in? Is
it when you arrive or is it like the next
(02:08):
day or the day after?
Speaker 2 (02:11):
So all right, My wife was an Olympic gymnast. She
used to travel and compete internationaly all the time. They
always said the worst day for competing was the third day.
So the thought was you either go in and out
before that or you go for like a week and
that way you kind of get through the third day
and you get four or five, six and you're fine.
(02:33):
That was at least how she they had approached it,
because this came up when our team, when I was
with the Broncos, we flew over to London for that game.
Because she goes, well, what are you guys leaving? And
I'm like, oh, I leave like on Thursday. She's like, wait,
so all right, she's a whole on second she goes,
so the third day you'll be playing your game. I go, yeah,
she goes, that's the worst thing you guys could possibly do.
(02:55):
And to her credit, we were so sluggish and we
got we be by the forty nine ers. I mean
traveling over there was tough. Abott. I didn't really sleep
on the Red Eye over there. But yeah, that that game,
everyone was like sluggish. And that's not like even guys
were going out partying, like guys went out after the game,
(03:15):
but before that it was everyone was like on the
up and up, trying to, you know, make sure we
went out there and won. A football game, and they
just felt extremely sluggish and slow, and it was hard
to kind of describe.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
I don't know why. I just thought about that because
I was remembering back to the trip to Ireland going.
I don't remember having jet lag, but maybe we weren't
there long enough to to really.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
I think we pushed through it, and mostly because Lee
he really didn't have any signs of jet lag.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
You know, well, no, because he always seems jet lagged,
so you're just you're never quite sure whether or not
you're getting the actual Lee or if there's some other
issue going on. Now I would say this, we did
have some sad news in the world of sports and
entertainment yesterday hul Cogan passing away at seventy one. That sucked.
That guy who didn't grow up with Hull Cogan in
(04:06):
their life, the vitamins and the prayers jacked to the gills.
Just a living legend. Hull Cogan passing away at seventy
one years old.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
I mean, he is the most iconic wrestler in my lifetime.
There was no one else who had the impact. And
I'm full disclosure not a wrestling fan, but I knew
who hul Cogan was I followed Hull Hogan. He was
one of those just iconic figures.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
It's awesome and also look not to get too nerdy wrestling,
but I would say this, Hull Cogan is the author
of the boom and the height and popularity of two
different eras of professional wrestling when he came in, and
it was the vitamins and the prayer in the whole comania,
(05:01):
not only just wrestling wise, sports and entertainment wise.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
One of the biggest stars on the planet. He was
in rock he was at Rocky three, I think he
was in He did movies, all of that, and then
years like a decade later, he ends up going completely
the opposite, turns into a bad guy and then starts
the nWo and it launches the boom of professional wrestling
in the late nineties all those years later.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
So the Yauty TV show, I mean that was the
Hole Separate Team. Oh God.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
So yeah, him and Ozzy Osbourne in the same week. Yeah,
it's kind of wild, but that is the So you
rest in peace, the Great Hulkogan passing away yesterday at
the age of seventy one. Now we transition smoothly from
that over to this the New York Jets are back,
and they are back in a big way. Justin Fields,
(05:55):
their quarterback dislocated toe yesterday and the word is he
avoided serious injury and they're not too concerned. He should
be ready to go and ready to rock by week one.
I don't know about you, but it seems like a
dislocated toe is a little bit more of a bigger deal,
especially for a mobile quarterback. And they can spin it
(06:16):
however they want to spin it. But I'm not sure
exactly how this is not looked at. Is well, that's
kind of problematic heading into the season. One of the
first practices they have as a team.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
If it was any other team than the Jets, I
was like, you know, that's not good, but you know
they'll they'll figure it out. For some reason, with the Jets,
it almost feels like a bad omen, like, all right,
this is how the season is going to start. Like
you've got a quarterback who can legitimately impact a game
with his legs and he dislocates a toe. Yeah, not ideal.
And obviously it's a huge year for Justin Fields personally
(06:51):
to declare he can be the guy to be a
franchise quarterback. He can, you know, take over a franchise
like this. So I feel for him. He's a really
he's a really good guy. And it feels like every
time things have been starting to go his way, something
like this happens. So hopefully when I impact him early
in the season, I just I look at it and go,
all right, is this just again another sign that this
(07:14):
is where things are going for the Jets this year?
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Like here we go again, here we go, like another
another issue like this pops up? Tyrod Taylor is the
backup there, so maybe uh, you know, they've they've got
a nice little landing there for him. But I just
dislocated toe. Sounds like a really really painful injury. Like
that sounds like a problem. And look, my toes are
all jacked up as it is, so so maybe it's
(07:38):
just a problem for me. But it feels like the
Jets are in this situation. And then you see the
reports come out yesterday for some ungodly reason that hey,
Aaron Rodgers first first pass and team drills he threw
an interception. It's like, dude, who cares, Like, like, why
why is this even being kept? Score of? Why is
there video of this? Being sent out. Why are people
(07:59):
care about this stuff? But hopefully those guys will get
it together, because that Week one matchup. The closer we
get to it, the more excited I am for that
scene to see Rogers versus Old Team, Justin Fields versus
Old Team. We're basically both organizations chose the other guy
and you ended up seeing the seeing them where they are.
(08:21):
And so for Week one, hopefully Justin Fields is back
up and running and he can get his toe fixed
and they can be ready to rock and roll there.
So it is two pros And I'm sorry, go ahead.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
No, I was just said. I thought you were gonna
have more of an issue with the dislocated toe because
you're like weirded out by feet. You know, it's like
the opposite of Rex Ryan, Like you are on the
way other end of the spectrum. So anytime you hear
a foot injury or there's like a foot fetish thing
going on, you're out.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Well here's here's why toes kind of weird me out.
Mine overlap, Okay, so I have a okay, so what.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Does that even mean?
Speaker 1 (08:57):
All right, so you know your your big toe, mine
tucks underneath the one next to it, So I have.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
With your second toe, the skinny long tow.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Yeah, that one lays over the top of my big toe.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
Is it because that are too tight?
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Jonas, No, it's just from birth. Oh it's always been
like that. Yeah, that's why you're not a professional player.
That makes sense. Yeah, that's it, And that's the only
reason why. That's the only thing that helped me back.
It had nothing else, like a skill set was there.
It was the fact that my toes overlap, which was
the real issue. And so because my toes overlapped, I
couldn't wear flip flops for like the first twenty five
(09:35):
years of my life because the part going in between
the toes was excruciating, Like I couldn't, I could not
get used to it. And I finally I just slowly
bring him in and now I'm good to go. But
my son has the same thing, Like he's really oh yeah,
he's got the.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Same Yeah, your son, Yeah, that one. You look at it,
you look at his toes, You're like, ah, that's just
the good old Knox family history.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Well that's how I knew it was mine. So in
the hospital, I just looked at the feet. I'm like, oh, yeah,
that's it. Yeah, I did that, and I just looked
around and I was proud of it, and I.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Don't want to see a photo. But there's part of
me that's like, sure, I don't really understand what you're
talking about.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
Yeah, it's I don't know how to explain. I didn't
even know if there's a medical term for it. But yeah,
the fat toe tucks underneath the other toes, so thus,
you know, it makes me I've never heard of this before. Yeah,
there's also one do.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
You have a hard time standing up? Like, do you
have a hard time balancing.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
A little bit? But I don't know if, And maybe
that leads to why I have such small calves. Maybe
that's part of the issue as well too. I have
such a narrow base and so there's not really, you know,
much opportunity for the captains its way through. But yeah,
it's I don't know if there's a there is there
a technical name.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
Yeah, it's called crossover toes. Congratulations, I got a crossover toes.
Crossover toes.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
That seems like a kind of a lazy name. There's
got to be a better name than that.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
Wed it right now?
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Oh god, jeezus, not that bad man.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
That's how your toes are naturally well the.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Picture I'm seeing, they're not that bad.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
For sure.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
They're never that bad.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
No, no, no, no, yeah, god, yeah, they're not that bad.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
I think you have it looks like you're trying to
like cross your fingers that make it look like that.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Oh my feet make gang signs like it's bad. Like
like there's if I like, if I have been walking
around all day and I'm just trying to stretch my
toe like I can't. Anybody that can wiggle their toes
freaks me out. I have no ability to control that whatsoever.
It's just one block. It's like the guy Dempsey who
(11:40):
kicked the longest field goal for years. He had basically
a block foot because he had no toes. It's kind
of like that. I have no ability to maneuver my
toes around. It's just a foot. Like, here's a foot.
Figure it out and good luck with flipflops.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
May gottamse in your soul. Yeah I know.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
I mean, I don't know if there's a surgery for it.
You ended up getting a surgery for it and you
got your yours is good to go now, Like I
don't know if I've never.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Had crossover toes. I don't know what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Yeah, but you had the footage, Frank, it's entirely different.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
That's like a big foot injury.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Oh, because it's got a better name than crossover toes.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
No, because I legitimately had a dude land on my
foot in it broke a boat and ripped off with ligament.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Yeah, but you're good to go now.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Yeah, but I didn't have a foot that looked like that.
But I mean different issues. I thought this is weird.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
It's not that. It can't be that bad. Jesus Christ.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
I just don't know why you have to admit this stuff. Okay,
just let this think go.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
No, it is what it is. It's like the uh,
you know, the Chuck E Cheese guy getting arrested. I
had to hear about that all day yesterday. So it
just is what you're past. Yeah, some who got arrested
and some guy dressed up as Chuck E Cheese. I
guess got arrested. Yeah, I guess he uh guess he
got arrested or something. I ended up getting text messages
and tweets all day about it. It's like, yeah, that
(12:59):
ain't me man, Like, yeah, I wore a rat costume.
But me and that guy don't look alike. So really yeah, uh.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
I mean you did play that role. I did.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
No, I definitely did. So there is your h there's
your update on my feet. Uh justin Field's toes and
the Cogan.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Yeah you threw it out there, buddy, like no one
else brought that up. We were like, oh, hey, Jonas,
I've seen your feet before. It looked just like that.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Well somebody on the show. God was it this show
or I forget? But there's also a syndrome where people
have a longer middle toe than they do the big toe.
Get Loreno is that you that said that?
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Yeah, it's like a sign of intelligence, right.
Speaker 5 (13:39):
I have my second toe is longer and I can snap,
like legitimately snap with my toes, with your.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Toes, with your toes. That's all right?
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Could you do that? Could you do that on the
air right now? On the micry.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
This is good turn on someone that is right between
yesterday's comments on the bikinis and this. This is going
to turn someone on.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Oh, this will be the most downloaded podcast we've had.
This is gonna be uh, this is gonna be something
you're at You can actually snap your toes together and
have it make a sound.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
Yeah, but they're really soft right now, so that's really quiet.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Okay, all right, well we'll work on that. We'll figure
out a way to dry those.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
I'm gonna ask Brie and Lorena if you came in
and saw somewhat with crossover toes, if that's what we're
calling them, are you immediately like, oh, probably a deal breaker,
are you like? Okay, I'll give them. I'll give them,
you know, an opportunity here.
Speaker 5 (14:39):
I mean, everybody kind of has some weird kind of
physical issue, right kind of what Yeah, everybody. Everybody is
deformed in some way.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
I think. So that's just Jonas is deformity.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Thanks. Oh I don't think that's no, no, no, no,
that was the kindest way to point out a deformity. Yes, everybody.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
I'm like, I have extremely small hands, Like I think
that's my deformity. Like my I have big feet, So
I feel like that that's my deformity.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
You know, you know those hands are called confidence builders.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Yes, Brady, I've heard that before. Thank you so much,
thank you.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Well done. Oh my god, Lorena, that is well done.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
She didn't get it.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Right away.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Okay, well, I take back the comment that that second
of being longer than people, that's like supposed to be
a sign of intelligence.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
So Loreena, can you can you are you able to
snap your toes yet or what?
Speaker 4 (15:43):
You didn't hear it? I did it like two seconds ago.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
No, you got to like let us so we can
pay attention.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
You guys have to get paid for this, all right.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
I can't hear it. It's it's flicking.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
It's almost like a like a flyer.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
It gets better if I if I tried that, I
would have to get my foot amputated. My toes have
no ability to do that whatsoever. So if you're justin fields,
it could be worse. You could be one of us.
So crossover to Yeah, I don't know if we will now,
but yeah, at least it's just a dislocation. You should
be ready to go for week one. By the way,
(16:21):
it is two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio. It should be pointed out this
is important because this is a big day on the
show because today is.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
A football Friday.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
It's a football Friday.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
Come on, I forgot about that. Yeah, we're still doing this.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
All Oh, Yeah, this is always gonna be meathead Mondays,
Taco Tuesdays. What was Wednesday again? Yeah, but didn't like
thinking of another theme like weird ar like, so yeah
it is true. And then Thursday was drink Special Day
(16:57):
for Lee.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
I think those.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Yeah, there we go. Come on, we needed only but
a goodie snap them confidence build. Hey, it is a
football Friday. Larata's toes or snapping Brady's Ready, Breeze Ready,
(17:24):
I'm ready, and we've got you ready and set to
go here on this three hour extravaganza. So we are
gonna have the usuals coming up later on, we will
have another edition of In case you missed it, Lee
is not here, Brie is here, as you heard, So
we are gonna have Breeze leftovers and the return of
Headline or Lie. I believe it's been exactly a year
since we have done Headliner Lie. On this show, we'll
(17:45):
give you the call in information and you can participate
coming up an hour two of the program as well too.
Coming up next here though, on the show, we are
going to tell you about somebody who was not happy,
not happy with the current situation that they were in
and the world of football. We'll get into that for
you right here on Fso be.
Speaker 6 (18:03):
Sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and a
Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and Jonas
Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Hey, we're Covino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to seven pm Eastern. But here's the thing. We
never have enough time to get to everything we want
to get.
Speaker 7 (18:25):
To, and that's why we have a brand new podcast
called over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun
in our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promised in things we never
have time for.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Yeah, you blober list name and me. Well you know
what it's called over promise. You should be good at
it because you've been over promising women for years.
Speaker 7 (18:44):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised. Well, if
you don't get Enough's Rich, make sure you check out
over Promise and also uncensored by the way, so maybe
we'll go at it even a little harder. It's gonna
(19:06):
be the best after show podcast of all time. There
you go, over Promising. Remember you could see on YouTube,
but definitely join us. Listen Over Promised with Cavino and
Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you
get your podcasts.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Two pros and a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. Coming up and
we'll call it a little over twenty minutes from now.
Somebody had a really good idea that went horribly wrong.
We'll get into the details on that for you again
coming up here a little over twenty minutes from now,
before we get to somebody who's not pleased about the
situation they were placed in in the world of football.
(19:42):
It is time right now for the tire rack play
of the day.
Speaker 6 (19:46):
I'm the wind up and the one two to Julio
swing and a well hit ball deep the right field,
down the line. This one is going and going, and
goodbye baseball.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
We are tied. That is courtesy of the Mariners Radio
Network rand A Rozarina a two run home run. That
call is your Tireraq play of the Day. For over
forty years, tireq has been helping customers find the right
tires for how what, where they drive, shipped fast and
free back by free road, has a protection with convenient
installation options like mobile tire installation ti iraq dot com
(20:16):
the way tire buying should be so James Franklin, the
head coach of Penn State, was speaking at Big Ten
media Days in Las Vegas and apparently not all that
thrilled with the fact that they were in Las Vegas
for Big Ten media days and pointed out just sort of,
you know what those other guys in the SEC get
(20:37):
with their media days.
Speaker 8 (20:38):
A lot of our beet writers did not come to
this because.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
They couldn't afford to get out here.
Speaker 8 (20:45):
And the majority of our teams are near Chicago, where
this used to always be, a majority of our teams
are near Indianapolis where this used to.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
Be, and it creates a different environment.
Speaker 9 (20:54):
I walk around the lobby, I I don't see any signage.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
I'll see anything for the Big Ten.
Speaker 8 (20:59):
I'll see people getting autographs.
Speaker 9 (21:02):
I don't see it's it's a different vibe, but it's
a different feeling. I think that other conference when they
have their their meetings, there's essentially a press conference every
single day.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
At the end of the meetings.
Speaker 8 (21:14):
It keeps people talking about that conference at a time
of the year and makes them relevant.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
We're not doing that.
Speaker 8 (21:22):
We need to be talking about the Big Ten and
our programs and the things that we do and making
it as successful to everybody as we possibly.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Can and connecting with the fans.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Don't say I think.
Speaker 8 (21:34):
I think Vegas is a special place, and I think
they run events as well as anybody, but it's a
different feeling.
Speaker 9 (21:41):
It's it's a different feeling, and I've been at.
Speaker 8 (21:44):
Those other places where people are putting up babies for
you to autograph and stuff.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
It's it's different.
Speaker 8 (21:51):
So I think there's still some things that we got
to be strategic and smart about that are gonna put
our best that are going to put our conference in
our school in the best position on a national level
in my opinion.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
All right, Brady, you were in Vegas for Big Ten
media Days.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
Your thoughts. I see what Coach is talking about. You know,
it definitely felt different than Chicago. Or Indianapolis in regards
to everywhere you went. It didn't feel like you were
there for the Big Ten Media Days. It just felt
like you're in Vegas for the Big Ten Media Days.
And there's a number of cities that I think can
take an event and swallow it up and not really
(22:31):
and just spit it out where you're like, all right,
was that one on there? Oh? Okay, I didn't even notice.
There's just there wasn't that feel for it. When the
Big Ten goes to Chicago goes to Indianapolis, it's just
a different feel the way they go about promoting it
and advertising it. I mean, I think personally Indianapolis does
the best job because everywhere you look there's something that's
(22:54):
you know, Big Ten oriented or how they're highlighting it,
like you know, the entire Big Tens in town. So
I understand what he's saying. I think for them in particular,
you know, they're gonna have a harder time getting anywhere,
by the way, because it's just it's hard to get
to Happy Valley. So as much as I would side
with them from the standpoint of, you know what he
(23:15):
saw when he got to Las Vegas. You walk in
the lobby, and it's just the lobby of a Mandalay
Bay or wherever else you're staying. While you're there. It's
not again, it's not promoting that there's people walking on
everywhere like, oh hey, Big ten media, like it's like
one of the many attractions that are there in Las Vegas.
So I get a little bit of that. But you know,
(23:35):
I'm sure USC, UCLA or Oregon, Washington they're looking at
him going wha second, dude, Like it's not easy for
us to get all the way into Indianapolis either, So
this is a nice bone that the Big Ten has
thrown to us. But here's what I think this is
actually underlying. I'm not trying to speak for James Franklin.
I think there were a number of growing issues for
(23:58):
a lot of the blue blood and some of the
top teams in each one of these conferences. Because there
are so many teams that are part of you know,
the Big Ten and the SEC and all these different conferences,
I think there's some things that go on that they're
getting a little bit tired of. And you know, the
conference commissioners have a tough job because they've got to
(24:19):
make everyone happy. But you know, the bell Cows are
the ones that really are holding together your conference. The
Ohio States, the Penn States, the Michigans. Those are like
the big blue blood programs that are really carrying the conference,
and you try not to give them favoritism. But I'm
hoping Tony Pattiti listens to James Franklin because to his point,
(24:42):
when you compare at least to the SEC, it's got
a different feel to it, and you know you can
go to different I mean, I was down at the
Big Twelve as well, and you know they go in
and when they're there at the Star, you know, as
much as it's all about the Dallas Cowboys and the outside,
you know, they do a good job of highlighting all
of the programs that are and it's all about ball.
It's all about football. It's about the Big twelve. And
(25:04):
you feel that while you're there, even that small little vicinity.
So I can see his frustration by it. You know,
I didn't sense that. I'm just from talking to him
when he was there. But it's a good point to
bring up, I think, in particular when this is you know,
quite possibly the biggest year in James Franklin's career, that's
how good this team is that he has. They were
(25:24):
really good last year. They should be a team that
competes for a national championship this year.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
So from my understanding, this is the first year they've
done it outside of say Chicago, in Indianapolis, that this
is the first year they've done it. And in looking
it up, they're going back there next year.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Correct, I don't think so. I thought they were. They
were looking at moving at Indianapolis next year.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
So because I had seen that, you know, they were.
The talk was maybe next year July twenty first through
the twenty third, twenty twenty six, they're looking at Mandala
Bay again in Vegas. And to his point when it
comes to the SEC, for years, the SEC did their
media days in Hoover, Alabama, and then they've bounced around Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas,
(26:11):
et cetera. You wouldn't catch the SEC dead at Mandalay
Bay in Vegas, Like there was no there's no shot.
And I had no idea how big of a deal
SEC media days were until being out there in South
Carolina and people talking about, Oh, yeah, this is what
the scene is, this is what the setup is, this
(26:32):
is what the coverage is like I had no idea,
and it does feel like it is presented differently. I look,
I think our show should be a big ten Media
Days with your involvement with Big Noon kickoff with LeVar
and the Penn State ties, Like, I think we.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Should be there. Everyone wants to go. But if we're
going to say we're going to Indianapolis or are you
in for that trip too? I know you're in for
a trip to Chicago. I get that, but Indianapolis because
it's harder to get to any apples for you.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
I would rather go to Indianapolis and Chicago than Vegas. Okay,
Like I've done the whole Vegas thing, like it's cool
and all, But to James Franklin's point, it does feel like, Look,
they do put on great events, and logistically it makes
all the sense in the world. Everything's in close proximity,
you can get to the airport pretty easy. Like all
of that is fair and true. But if it's Big
(27:23):
ten Media Days, you'd like it to feel like Big
ten Media Days. I would assume, like, just like the SEC,
it feels like, you know, SEC Media Days, and I
just I totally see what he's saying, Like I get
his point, but maybe this I don't know if it's
a cost thing. I don't know if just financially it
makes more sense to happen there.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
But it's the genesis behind it is they're trying to
make good on this, you know, Coast to Coast conference
now as they talk about, I was walking down the
elevator and there's a couple who was on and they
looked at me and they go, oh, you're a big
time media day. H I go, yeah, I am. And
the husband looked at the wife is like, yeah, he's like,
you're out my matters in the Big ten now. She
(28:02):
was she went to UCLA and yeah, I go yeah,
No one. I was like, yeah, we look at those
La Beaches now as Big ten country. And they just
kind of like, you know, looked over and smirked. But
in all seriousness, that's what this is. That this is
a bit of a you know, bone being thrown to
the four teams that you know, left the Pac twelve
and decided to come to the Big ten. And so
(28:24):
it's not behind the scenes, it's not just this for
the Big ten media days, the spring meetings that we had,
they were all the way out in La You had
all these you know, teams and they're athletic directors and
their coaches. They all flew out to La to go
stay at tarann Aa down there in Palace Verdes, right
next to the home there of one Petros Papadekas, and
(28:44):
they were all there kind of meeting and going over
things for the conference. So it's not just the Big
Ten Media Days, it's things that in the future, you know,
I don't know in the spring time if they're going
to move that anywhere else or if that's always going
to be a tarran Aa. You know. For the Big
Ten Media Days, a lot of the talk that I
was there was that it was going back to Indianapolis,
and that was not even coming from that was coming
(29:05):
from people who were with a Big ten uh going
back to Indianapolis next year, you know, So it can
maybe it like it goes back and forth, but I
think most people agreed, like, man, the convention center's find
the setups good once you get there. It's just not
easy to get there for a lot of those teams
that are basically coming from the Midwest or the East.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
Coast, and then you get to sit on a Southwest
flight like you do and deal with weirdos with masks
on that are that are just trying to you know,
like play video games and do coding, you know, with
a whole bunch of empty seats around him. I gets
a pain in the ass. I get it, James Franklin,
I get it. He's one hundred percent correct, Like, go
back to Indianapolis, go back to Chicago, make it a
(29:44):
home game for you. Why should they cater to the
new guys? Like, no, you come meet us?
Speaker 2 (29:49):
You will or Oregon did win the conference last year?
Speaker 1 (29:53):
Yeah, but still like it. This is all about how
long you been there? Like where where the elder statesman
in this conference? You should come to us, all right,
you're the one who wanted to be a part of
this so you could make more money because the PAC
twelve was a disaster. You should come to us. They
shouldn't be Hey, let's make them feel comfortable and fly
all the way out there so we can be a
part of their media days, Like come on, Like it
(30:14):
feels a bit ridiculous, but I do think our show
should be there. I think our show one should be there.
I think the big noon show should be there.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Oh yeah, yeah probably, I mean that's that's you know,
get I would have thought a lot more guys from
the Big Moon Show would be there, but it didn't
really work out that way. What do you mean? I
mean it was Vegas. I thought, like LIKERI and Lorena,
they would have been like, oh Vegas, y' I'll take
a free trip out to Vegas to go quote unquote work.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
I mean Rob Stone lives out here, correct, like he
lives in southern California. I'm assuming like, yeah, that's a
quick flight.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
Stoner could have been busy and I don't know what
he's doing.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
I mean, that's that's a quick flight. Feels like it's
a quick flight for Lioner. There's you know, feels like
it's a quick flight for most of those guys. Like
why not, you know, get out there and be a
part of it all, promote, promote the hell.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Out of lot Liner was out there. He was there
for a couple hours. He was doing he was working
with a sponsor or something. He's always trying to tap
into a social media so there there's something going on there.
But but he wasn't there like meeting with teams of coaches.
He was like in a separate little conference room, I'm like,
why do they fly you here to do this? He's like,
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
I was like, okay, well, now are you gonna bust
their balls for not being a part of it? Like,
will you figure out a way to work in dude?
Speaker 2 (31:21):
It's always like this. I always go there and log
content for our season. So a lot of the interviews
you'll see that I'm doing with the coaches and players,
it actually happens in the spring or excuse me, and
then the summer like media days. So even for the
Big twelve, Big Ten, you're hoping that all that content
makes it to the season. You know, you hope guys
stay healthy some of the players that you sit down
(31:42):
in an interview. By the way, going back to yesterday,
for that player that I interviewed, asked one question and
he just talked. I've got the actual length of how
long he talked uninterrupted. Do you want to guess how
long it's time?
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Oh jeez? All right, So this this was a player who,
for people that weren't listening, uh, talked for so long
on one answer that even the guy holding the boom
MIC's arms got tired because he was he was trying
to catch a break.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
What's this? It was a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
So I'm gonna.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Five minutes, five minutes, five seconds on one question, just
off one question.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Tell you something that's a lazy sports talk radio host dream.
If if you're looking to book a guest and you
know it's somebody long winded, you're like, oh, that segment's good.
Like I just be getting two or three questions and
I'm set.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
Here's my question. And this is also to Lorena and
then Brie, because Bri, you've worked on the show enough
and now at this point. But it's definitely a Jonas
as well. Has LeVar talked uninterrupted for that long before
on the show?
Speaker 5 (32:52):
Yes or no, I'm going to plead the fifth. I
do listen every day, but I'll plead the fifth.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
I think we've got upwards like four and a half.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
Yeah, I don't know that he's gotten that long.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
Well, like we're like waiting to go to break. You
are just as guilty me.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
Yes, I've never gotten that long. You could go get
whatever AI software you want. I've never been that long.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Yeah, yeah, Grock that who's more long winded? Yeah? Grock
that Lvar one hundred LaVar one hundred percent. Like if
you told LaVar, Hey, five and a half minutes. Oh,
that's easy. I got that beat. Yeah, it's like I
got that beat. Yeah, come on, that's.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
I don't know. It was one of the craziest things
I've ever been a part of. I've I just I mean,
I'll put it this way. You guys talked to people before.
Have you ever just talked to someone without them at
like dead in person, without them ever singing anything back
for five and a half minutes.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
No, I would feel I would feel awkward. Don't don't
air him out on the air, breed like you I.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
Did that in your ear?
Speaker 1 (33:52):
Thank you?
Speaker 2 (33:52):
All right?
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Yeah, please, we don't. We're not trying to air anybody
else out here at the network. I would feel awkward
talking for that long if I talk for that long
to somebody like one on one, unless it's like a
solo show where you have to, like if I talk
to somebody one on one, I would feel uncomfortable about that.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Like if you ask me, that's why, like you do
a solo show, I could never do that. I mean,
Loraina is like saying this, but I'm like, I could
never do that. Like Lavars had to do stuff like
that before. You obviously do a solo show, so I
don't know how you talk on a solo show for
that long.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
Well, it's like you told me, you know, hashtag built different,
you know.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
I mean, I don't think I've ever told you that
somebody mean, yeah, but with your your crossover toes, now,
I guess that's true.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
By the way, Larna, Larna had to come in to
get a peek at the toes and then proceeds to
tell me that she has a dirty tactic where she
takes pictures of people's feet.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
Wow, don't air me out.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
Well you didn't take pictures of mine? What do I care?
Damn Well, listen, James Franklin. We'll see at Mandalay Bay
next year. So and enjoy the flight over to Las Vegas.
If that's I'm pretty.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
Sure trying to move back to Indy.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
But we'll see it is two pros and a Cup
of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio, Brady Quinn, Jonas
Knox with you here coming up next and another edition

idea and it went horribly wrong in the world of sports.
That's yours here on FSR. Well done, two pros and
(35:22):
a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio, Brady Quinn, Jonas
Knox with you here. Coming up a little over ten
minutes from now, we are going to have ourselves a
bit of a discussion about how somebody could step in
and help a player in the NFL, but they got
bigger issues. We'll get into that for you here on
FSR before we get to another edition up. In case

Speaker 6 (35:57):
Sometimes you can't get to everything in the world. Sports
are entertainment. Good thing. The guys are here to bring you.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
In case you missed it. Yeah, for that, we turn
it over to the one and only three Miro three.
How are you?
Speaker 7 (36:13):
I'm good?
Speaker 4 (36:13):
Happy Friday, guys. How are you?
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Guys? We're good?
Speaker 4 (36:16):
How are your toes? Everybody's toes all accounted for?
Speaker 1 (36:19):
All toes?
Speaker 6 (36:20):
Are there?
Speaker 1 (36:20):
Ten?
Speaker 2 (36:21):
All?
Speaker 5 (36:21):
Ten?
Speaker 4 (36:22):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (36:23):
So I know how much Brady loves the Savannah Bananas
is super entertained by them, right, you love them?
Speaker 2 (36:29):
Well, well, I just I've said that I'm not. I'm
not a fan of it as a TV product. I
think you have to go there to be in person
to experience the excitement around it, because the baseball is
really not that good and there's a few trick plays
here and there, but aside from that, it feels like
it's like everything else that is going on. It's not
(36:49):
like the actual baseball itself. So I'm more of a
I don't know, a traditionalist.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
I think it's lamb, but I don't get it people,
I mean, they do sell out to giant stadiums. Really
don't understand the appeal to it, but hey, you get
it for families.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
I get it for the families, the kids. But just
on TV, it's just a bunch of dudes dancing a
lot trying to play bass.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
It's weird, man, I don't understand. But okay.
Speaker 5 (37:14):
So the Banana ball star Robert Anthony Cruz aka Coach
rack that he was on a live segment on CNN
News National Central. Sorry and instead of a banana split,
there was a banana splat.
Speaker 1 (37:28):
Oh Jesus that what you just saw.
Speaker 7 (37:36):
There is a brand new America's favorite pastime.
Speaker 5 (37:41):
So coach rack face planet on national television.
Speaker 4 (37:44):
Is that splat you heard? That was his face?
Speaker 2 (37:47):
Can we go back play it one more time?
Speaker 1 (37:51):
Oh Jesus, that.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
What you just saw.
Speaker 6 (37:58):
There's a brand new twist on Americaine.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
All right, he hits. Here's the greatest part about this.
Here's the greatest part about this. Listen to that dude
who doesn't go off the prompter. He just keeps he's
just reading a prompt he gets right, So instead of
acknowledging what happens and being a human being, he's just like,
I'm gonna read right off the prompter that right there.
It's like, no, that is not what usually happens. That
was not that was supposed to go.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
And he, oh Jesus, he hits so hard. Did he
smack his face too? I think he.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
Oh my god, his whole lip was busted.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
He busted, Jesus.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
Did And he did actually react though that way, it's
pretty good.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
That never happens. And then is he uh? I think
he was wearing crocs in the in the attempt as well,
to which always seems a little bit suspect. Went flying off. Yeah,
I think it was a crock. I think he got crocked.
It just it's not uh, not a great idea whatsoever.
I don't know why he thought that would be a
(39:01):
move that he could pull off there, But he hit
really really hard. Oh Jesus, it's so loud because he's
got the mic on him.
Speaker 4 (39:12):
He goes flying off to I think I think that's what.
Speaker 1 (39:15):
Messed him up here, the impact and everything. Oh my god,
Oh Jesus.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
Right, Loreni, I think that's what messed him up. He
was close a slick floor.
Speaker 1 (39:28):
Oh that's awesome.
Speaker 5 (39:30):
Why would you try to perform that on a slick floor? Like, why, like,
why would you try that? Of all things?
Speaker 1 (39:35):
The Savannah Bananas man like, they do it different. You know,
it's a different spin on baseball. Gotta happen. What else
will got Brie?
Speaker 4 (39:44):
Alrighty?
Speaker 5 (39:45):
So coach Bill Belichick was at ACC media Day and
he kind of just explained the difference between coaching.
Speaker 4 (39:52):
College players versus professionals.
Speaker 5 (39:54):
He said, quote, the great thing about working with college
players is the growth and development to see how much
they improve, And the difference between coaching professionals is that
they're kind of setting their ways, but also they're trying
to they're open to willing to learn, just depends on
who they are.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
I can't wait to see how this works.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
Yeah, I'm fascinated. Man, awesome.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
I just and then they're already I've already seen report.
There's some report out that's saying that North Carolina might
look to join the SEC. Like that's already started to
trickle out. So I'll take that for what you will.
But at least for past him dating a smoke show
that's in her twenties, that's good news.
Speaker 2 (40:30):
That's a good point that didn't really come up.
