Speaker 1 (00:02):
It is the best of two pros and Rain and
Jonas Knox on radio.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
How are we feeling here on this Friday?
Speaker 3 (00:15):
This? This is your new song?
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Yeah, this is the one that's.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Christ Okay good, yeah, okay, okay.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
I did. We did pull a couple of strings though,
and change the open.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
They need to change that too. I mean, clearly, whoever
does the imaging for me doesn't think very highly of me.
I mean clearly they called me Thumper Arrington. You do
know that was like a day one That's a day
one type of deal. It's all right, called Thumper Arrington again.
(00:50):
I just you know, all right, it's it's cool. It's
no worries. I'm not I'm not gonna I'm not I'm
not going do what everybody thinks I'm gonna do. I'm not,
you know, I'm not going to flip out or start
spitting on anybody. Like, don't worry about it. I'm I'm
gonna pull myself together. Yeah, and I'm gonna and I'm
(01:11):
gonna get through this. That's what I'm gonna do. Exactly
what I'm gonna do.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Yeah, We'll get through this. It uh yeah, I mean, look,
I just want to point this out that there's worse
nicknames than Thumper Arrington.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
All right, that is true.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
You know what my nickname was when I was a kid?
Speaker 3 (01:27):
What was it?
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Joner Boner.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yes, it's not the you know what I mean. Yeah,
that's not the best, that's not like the most flattering,
I'm your your cool type of nickname. That was unless
unless unless Thumper Arrington.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
Is this what we're still talking about.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
No, we're talking about Jon boner Ker Thumper Arrington.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
I take that over Boner.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
I would take that. Oh yeah, I wouldn't want to
be Joner bone No, for certain, it's not that. Wouldn't
that put it in perspective.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
That's that's not the top of the list.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
No, No, I'm old enough.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
Now.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
Were people beg the Brady Bunch, I was like, okay, like.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
You kind of are the real life Brady Bunch?
Speaker 5 (02:20):
Well you know now now we've got a bunch. Yeah doubt.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
But then this lady met this fellow and they knew
that it was much more than a don't They were
what living.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Were watching for the one daughter anyway? You know Marcia Brady,
I think it was Marshall.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Yes it was Marsha, Yeah, yes it.
Speaker 5 (02:44):
Was that's more.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
That's a little bit more not to date you a
little bit more. You at Jonas's wheelhouse, Tad closer.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Wasn't the mom on that show laying the lumber with
one of the kids, most positive she was, she was
having an affair.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
I don't think it was during the show, Jonas. I
think it goes out.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Who knows, maybe in between scenes. Oh, Coop, you've got
insight on this, justin Cooper Child Star Child.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
I don't have inside, and I just know that what
you're saying is true.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
I don't know Peter, Peter Brady, what, which was the
oldest one, Craig greg So that's who. Yeah, didn't they
I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. But one of
them in one of the movies they ended up getting married, right,
I don't know. Yeah, it's like the brother and the
sister and one of the shows. I think they ended
(03:31):
up getting married in real life.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
I mean, who knows. Maybe part of the pickup line
was him spitting on somebody and then I was like, hey,
maybe that's maybe that's how it went down.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Because this is gonna be interesting conversation because as I
got into des Moines, Iowa last night, in preparation for
our fun weekend here for the Battle of the Syhawk
between Iowiowa State.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
I already heard conversation.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
About, well, Jalen Carter spit on Dak Prescott. Dak Prescott
spit towards Jalen Carter on the ground. There's a difference,
which I one hundred percent agree with that. But I
would say once the video came out from Dak spinning
towards Jalen Carter on the ground, that's how That's how
(04:18):
like fights start where it escalates, right, and then you
get someone who comes back and retaliates. They they won
up it like a little bit more. And typically if
you get spin on, what are you gonna do? Knock
the dude out? No, you knock the dude out?
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Yeah, that's yeah, something crazy, something crazy.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
So that's where I kind of look at it and
say it to me. Watching the game, I understand that
it qualifies for being disqualified for what Jalen Carter did
before we've even played a damn play of the entire season.
We can't just give the guy a penalty for you know,
fifteen yard penalty and warn him and make sure we
(04:56):
know the entire story because in this show is like,
all right, that was a really stupid move by Jayleen Carter.
Probably still is to some degree. But now I'm like,
all right, I don't know what Dak said. It looked
like he motivated him a little bit to walk over
and then who knows what was said between the two
before that. And I'm not saying it's ever cool or
okay if you lose your cool like that, but I
(05:18):
don't know. It looked like Dak was, I don't know,
maybe drawing him into it. Maybe he was doing a
hard count to get chilling Carter off sides out of
the game altogether.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Well he won. Here's what I'll say, Hold on Jones
this because I think that this should be noted, and
this should be said at least. The positive in all
of this that took place with Jalen Carter spitting on
Dak Prescott and getting objective from the game is that
(05:46):
the game, by both sides, both teams were now evenly
matched up because both teams did not have their best
player playing for them in that game. I thought, well, Jayleen, yeah,
I give you, I could give you yeah, but but okay.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
You yeah, No, I mean I would never make such
a comment.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
It kind of it kind of crushed my It crushed
my mind. Still there, I felt like it was really good. Okay,
so then we'll say, okay, best best defensive players on
the team. How about that? How about I redo it?
Hold on? Here we go, Here we go, here we go.
So the reason why I feel like it was okay
for Jalen Carter to get kicked out of this game
(06:38):
and ejected is that, well, both teams would have to
play the game without their best defensive player.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Well done, all right, thank you, Like the first one
never happened.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
It's like they were evenly matched. Man. You know, Michael
Parsons wasn't playing for for the Dallas Cowboys and Jalen
Carter wasn't playing up for the Philadelphia Eagles. So let's
line it up. Let's see who can win.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
You want to hear Dak Prescott's explanation for what happened
post game?
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (07:07):
I would love to. Uh here, interesting, here was the
real Dak Prescott, not the white guy that Lorena thought
was Dak Prescott?
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Yes, oh wow.
Speaker 6 (07:16):
I probably spent a thousand times throughout the game, I mean,
especially game day, maybe even in general. Something I guess
I'm not proud of. But in that case, he was trolling.
I guess you could say trying to mess with Tyler Booker.
I was just looking at him. I was right here
about the two linemen, and I guess I needed to
spin and I wouldn't gonna spind on my linman, and
I just spit ahead. But I'd say he was back
(07:36):
there where Joely was in that sense, and he asked,
or he goes, you're trying to spin on me?
Speaker 3 (07:41):
And at that point, I.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
Mean, I felt like like like he was insulting me,
like I don't I wouldn't spin on somebody. I'm damn,
you're not trying to spin on you, like.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
We're about to play a game.
Speaker 6 (07:49):
I'm wondering why you're trying to mess with the Rookiets.
When I stepped through, I actually say the words like
what the hell would excuse me? But I'm probably even
more colorful. What would I need to spin on you for?
And he just spent on me in that moment and
was more of a surprise than anything. Rest obviously saw
it through the flag. I was like, hell, yeah, we
get fifteen yards to start the game off.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
He's so full of crap.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
I mean, for real, dude, of crap, you do it.
I know he was.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
He was white. I mean he was white boy, and
he was he was white boy.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Was oh yeah, yeah, we'll take that.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Damn dud dude to punch you in the mouth, say
all kinds of crazy stuff. But the minute you hit him,
oh my god, let me tell you what happened.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
That's how a white guys man.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
I walked out of my house and this man he
accosted me. He wait, hold.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
On, you guys know I don't.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
Yeah, I'm joking. Go ahead, what were you'll want to say?
Speaker 5 (08:47):
I was gonna say that.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
I don't know how you can like watch back on
the video and not think that he was directing the
spit and saying whatever he said. I mean, that looks
like I've been around enough Shenanigames in my life to
know that looks like the type of stuff that if
you were out with your boys, which is kind of
what it feels like, right, you got all your big
(09:10):
linemen in front of you and you're talking to some
other dude like he was starting to fight. That's something
else is going to finish. That's what that looked like.
I'll be honest.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
I mean, I just I don't know. And this is
when you know that he's lying, when he starts bringing
up all the other you know, Oh, I would never
do that, and you know, pardon my language, and I
said some more colorful things and I'm not proud of that.
And I'm not dude, you knew exactly what you were doing,
like you were spitting in his direction. Well, I didn't
want to spit on my lineman, and I did. It's okay,
(09:43):
like it just there was like a mountain of reasons
why he wasn't going to do it as opposed to
no of course, like I wasn't planning like trying to
do that. It wasn't anything he was smirking in the
video when you can watch it was.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
I was unaware of this information until the start of
the show. I didn't I went to I had a
long day traveling, so once I got in, I literally
immediately went to Zimbi's and got me some wings and
got got me a couple a couple of our islands
and watched the game. And I watched it very closely.
(10:21):
And this is actually I'm very uh, I'm surprised by
this new this new finding of information for me that
Dak Prescott now granted, you cannot under any circumstances, you
cannot be that guy that loses his cool and does
something that hurts yourself or your team. You can't be
(10:44):
that guy.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Like I'm you ever had anything like this happened, even
on like a seven on seven tournament? Has anything like
this ever happened to LeVar?
Speaker 3 (10:51):
We watched your cool? Why would you try it?
Speaker 6 (10:53):
Guy?
Speaker 3 (10:54):
I didn't anybody at that seven on.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Seven if that guy spit as lung would have fallen out.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
You guys are the worst, bro Like, why do.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
You like your brothers? We have to agitate you constantly.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
You guys are funded out there, Like I really went
after this dude.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
I mean all I know on the video clip that
I saw, and they're trying to you were trying to
defend yourself. FIRS A guy who had an auction tank
that was coming after that.
Speaker 5 (11:24):
I thought I was worried he was going to use it.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Yeah, he might have. I mean he wanted to. He
wanted to do it. For certain, he he wanted to
hurt me, And I don't know why. His you know,
his mind and his thought process went to coming after me,
but I maintained my poise. I did not put my
hands on them.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
I was concerned that, like you know, in Jaws, want
to put the auction tanks. I don't know which one
that was, was the first one or second one? The
auction tanks then and they shoot in front of it. Yeah, dude,
first at the bar. Is that the first one, second one.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
Maybe whatever it was in Jaws, one of them?
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
I just remember thinking, like in the video watching slow motion.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Like no, don't let them blow up the oxygen tank
on var like I was thinking about.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Yeah, I mean it was, you know, reprehensible that behavior.
And and then to see Dak Prescott, you know.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Okay, so we went back to Jay Lenk Carter. Okay, well,
I'm just I don't you know, I don't know where
you guys are anymore.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
I didn't know how much time you wanted to spend
on you assaulting a cripple. So that that's why I
was trying to transition forward.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
Yeah, so that's what this show was turned, all right.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
I mean, I don't know what that means.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
Brother and a guy who gets poked, Like, okay.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
You had siblings, didn't you. I mean didn't you know
your customer siblings like this.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
I'm a middle child, so I wasn't the first, I
wasn't the last, so I was like inburgatory as a child.
It's cool anyway, you can't spin on him, he can't
even whatever, Like it's dumb saying. You're saying, Yeah, as
ridiculous as what Dak is saying, you know, as ridiculous
as that is. It sounds like an arrogant dude to me.
(13:13):
And I don't know Dak Prescott, never met him a
day in my life, don't don't know him as a person,
but that just sounds like somebody with arrogance, Like you're
an arrogant dude. And even if you're going to I
don't care what you are. I don't care what your
personal proclivities are. I don't I don't care. But Jalen Carter,
(13:34):
you cannot react in a way that hurts you and
hurts your team. And I think that that's ultimately the
saddest part of it all is is that is that
to me, his conduct it like it that is a
stain on him. And and you know, I don't know
I was on the field when when when Seawan t
(13:57):
when Sean spit on spit on Michael Pittman. We were
playing against Tampa Bay. I recall in the playoffs, Big
yoked up Michael Pittman.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Right, it was a five seven.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
I don't know, but he was yoked. And let me
tell you something, Sean spit on him, and I'm like,
bro like, And that was part of some people don't
realize this or remember it because of the tragedy that
took place, and and people like to look at all
of the positives he was yoked though, but sorry, but yeah,
(14:38):
he's way tall in five seven. But I think Sean
started to have a narrative after that that wasn't becoming
of who he was as a person. And so now
all of a sudden, anytime Sean does something right, it's like,
oh he's getting his life together. Oh look at how
he's doing things to get Like when you do stuff
(14:59):
like that, people love to be able to downgrade and
diminish who you are, the value of who you are
as a person.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
And Jalen Carter already had that coming in.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
And he already had that coming in jonas one, and
and that to me in a moment where people should
have been celebrating him, celebrating the game. You you have this,
it was disgusting. That's a disgusting act. You know, you
have this disgusting act take place. And now, really what
should have really been a moment where people were talking
(15:32):
about and they were so ready to talk about him
and he you know, I sounds like y'all okay with it,
Like I can't say. I think you got to have
a level of discipline to not to not respond that way.
Get him, I get that, get him in between the plays.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
You know, I'm with you on that.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
I'm with you on that, and I think, no matter
how you slice it, he shouldn't have done it.
Speaker 5 (15:54):
You know.
Speaker 4 (15:54):
I just when I first saw it, I was honestly
baffled because I couldn't really tell.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
I wasn't able to listen to a sound.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
And then once I started reading through Twitter, even though
I got hacked yesterday so I got locked out. Once
I finally got back on Twitter, I was like, Wow,
that's what. Yeah, some d bag, probably in his parents'
basement in New York hacked my Twitter and was trying
to sling some sort of cryptocurrency thing. I don't know,
I just know that I couldn't. I couldn't log into
(16:24):
my Twitter. I was like really, And the next thing
I know, someone's like, hey, man, are you doing some
promotion for a cryptocurrency?
Speaker 5 (16:33):
I go, does it sound like I would do like
something like that.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
They're like, oh, I think you got hacked. I was like, yeah,
problem like this happens probably once every three years.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
Did you have Well?
Speaker 4 (16:44):
I was gonna say, you know what I would have
taken a step for. I will spit on their ass
and whoop that ass. That's easy. I know it's Friday,
you're over there while now, but right now, Gesu, Okayish,
you gotta stop.
Speaker 5 (17:03):
I know what you're doing. Ray, we're knocking up.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
We're not going oh gosh, oh gosh.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
All right, back to the story. If like once it
once that da that dag drew him into this, I
kind of felt like there was more of the story
and maybe again maybe a penalty what it would have sufficed.
It shouldn't have been an ejection, especially, I mean, it
(17:30):
didn't matter at the end of the game, Philly still won,
but there was an element of it watching that first
try where I'm my god, they're running right where Joey
and Carter would have been.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
That's interesting. There was an elements way worse. It would
have been way worse if Philly lost. Do you think
it way worse?
Speaker 2 (17:44):
So let me ask you, because LaVar you mentioned Sean Taylor.
Did people after seeing him spit on another player? Did
people after that try and egg him on to get
him to act out again? Remember Josh Norman did that
with Odell Beckham earlier realized Hey, this guy go at
any minute. And it's not the first time that they've
had to talk to Jalen Carter or there's been an
(18:05):
incident even with him in the NFL. And when you
see Jalen Carter sort of laugh as he's walking off
the field, it was almost like, damn, he got me,
Like he got me, he knew, you know.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
It was the facial expression he made that that I
thought was what was telling was like I can't believe
I'm getting kicked out of this game, Like like why
am I? Why am I walking to the That was
the look I felt like I saw him have. Why
am I? Like why am I walking to the locker room?
Which is and and listen it is what it is.
Maybe maybe seeing it played back would give him more awareness.
(18:40):
Of having more control over himself his actions because he's
such he's I mean, he's such a focal figure. You're
not going to get away with doing it. And to
answer your question, yes, you do have to deal with
that moving forward, because everybody's not scared of you. You're
in the league. Dudes aren't going to be like, oh
(19:03):
that's Jalen Carter. Oh my gosh, da da da. Of
course people were trying to egg Sean on after that,
of course they were, you know, but but the idea
of it is, and again to me, the idea of
it is is that now you're being you've been painted
and you have been you know, you're you're now going
(19:23):
to be considered to be someone that is not I
don't know. I'm trying not to say like anything crazy
like because I'm I mean, for me, I understand how
these things work. You just don't want to get the
type of labels and the type of titles that come
with and act like spitting on somebody. It's like, it's
just not a it's not a good deal.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
You think he could have gotten away with saying he
had a medical condition. I mean, I think maybe moving forward,
somebody's coaches should prepare themselves. Like, isn't there hyper salivation?
Isn't that like an actual thing where like people they
spit a little bit when they talk.
Speaker 5 (19:56):
Why couldn't you just say it was that.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
He's trying to cut weight or something, you know, like
he had to he had to make a post game
weight limit, and so he was trying to, uh, you know,
you just use spit and release his many dysphasia.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
I believe it's a thing too, where like you've got
some sort of like weak muscles when you try to
swallow in your mouth or something, so you like build
up saliva.
Speaker 5 (20:17):
I don't know how you couldn't figure out a way
of just or.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
You can or you he has stop, Maybe you gotta stop.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
Sounds like brainstorming over here.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Lamaism, you know, like he felt like he was under
attack and he needed to defend himself. Then isn't that
how Lamas defend himself?
Speaker 2 (20:44):
Is it Lamas or Camels?
Speaker 3 (20:45):
That's spit? I think spit too. They all do, they
all do, Yeah, they do, right, m Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
By the way, one hundreundred percent league got butchered last night,
one hundred percent. And there's a guy, there's a telltale
sign he's wearing for the swamps. I'm also wearing the
exact same thing it was wearing yesterday.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
How do you think you smell right now?
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Not good? Especially after I have that visit to the.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
Show. Did hell?
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Bro? That's that sweaty d o. Man, that's that's right now.
I feel bad for you, man.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
Welcome to the NFL season.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Him, Why didn't you yesterday? I went home. I just
wasn't allowed back home. That's all.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
Put him out there. There's a juicier storyline than the
Jalen car.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
That's the Rays.
Speaker 5 (21:47):
Got a nice bed there.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
For Lee, you know, full extra one.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
He never takes it.
Speaker 1 (21:57):

Ohio State Texas game down on that one, laying the points, which,
by the way, kind of crazy. You could have gotten
points at one point day of the game with Texas.
There's some really interesting line movement. Excuse me, would have
been laying points that Texas would favorite at one point
in that game. Then it swung back to Ohio State
before it closed but I digress Alabama not showing up
(23:35):
getting blown out by Florida State that tanks some things,
and unfortunately for the Notre Dame Miami under which we
had in that game, it closed at fifty one and
a half. However, we took it earlier in the week,
so if you were riding along with me and ended
up hitting the under at the close, but not when
we had actually picked. So on the season, we are
three and four and I've got four more for you.
(23:57):
And by the way, we're not some of those sees
who got to go and find some other obscure games
somewhere else. I'm giving you the big games, the games
you're going to watch. There's none bigger than Michigan heading
to Norman, Oklahoma to take on the Sooners. The Wolverines
are getting five and a half points, Jonas, keep me honest, is.
Speaker 5 (24:16):
It's still five and a half efforting?
Speaker 4 (24:19):
Okay? Usually Jonas is more up on this, but let
me just rave for a second about both new quarterbacks
at Michigan and Oklahoma for the Sooners, John Mattiir. The
transfer comes in looked fantastic in week one, looks to
bring that uplifting I guess momentum and really just playmaking
ability that the offense has been missing for the last
(24:40):
couple of years now. So Materier at quarterback for Oklahoma
makes all the difference. I think with Brenton Venables now,
I want to stay on the hot seat, but it really
does need a big season, and this is a team
that's been led by their defense.
Speaker 5 (24:51):
But I think they've got something special.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
And Matier at quarterback and the other side a true freshman,
the highly anticipated Bryce Underwood's someone call him the twelve
million dollar man, which is the rumors and reports of
what he was paid to go to Michigan.
Speaker 5 (25:06):
I don't care what he was paid. This young man
has it all.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
He's got a rocket for an arm, he sees the
field well, he can throw with touch. I know it
was New Mexico last week, and you know, people will say,
I don't want to make too much of it.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
Some of the throws he were making, I don't care
who it's against.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Like it displayed all the talent and ability that he's
got with that defense, that rushing attack that they've got
to Michigan.
Speaker 5 (25:27):
Give me the five and a half points. Jonas is
still five and a half at quick refresh.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
It is now four and a half Michigan plus far.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
There you go.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
And that's why, because I think people are starting to
understand just how good this Michigan team can be with
underwooded quarterbacks. So go ahead, take the four and a
half points. If you're really feeling spicy money line, Oh tony,
right now, look out for these Wolverines with Price Underwood
at quarterback, staying between a battle and the big ten
(25:54):
and the acc We've got Illinois traveling down to North
Carolina to take on the.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
Duke Blue Devils.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
Duke giving three points at home to Illinois. Something seems
off about this.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
Do you smell that far? You smell that smells a
little fishy? Seems a little fishy to me. But and
here's the thing.
Speaker 4 (26:15):
If Illinois, who's looked at as a top ten team,
somewhe in the city last time I looked, I would
have thought it would have been a bigger number. It
smells off to me. I was watching the tape on
Darien Mensa, the transfer quarterback at Duke. He's got the goods.
There's a reason why he left Tulane. Duke was excited
about getting him. He's been able to bring and kind
(26:35):
of uplift a little bit many ideas in that defense
at Duke is gonna be tough for Illinois on the
road to deal with. Take the three points and the
Duke Blue Devils, all right. Moving on to some favorites,
Old Miss trying to get some revenge up on the
Kentucky Wildcats who struggled a bit with Toledo out of
the gate in week one. Zach Calzada is the quarterback
(26:56):
there Kentucky after journeying from Texas and m and Carnel
Warden now to Lexington. However, Austin Simmons is the quarterback
that I think we're gonna be talking about after this one.
He's a baseball player, dual athlete, but he's got a
rocket for an arm. He's a good athlete. He's in
that Old Miss system. You know he's gonna put up numbers.
This is one where I think, if you are concerned,
(27:17):
if you're a Kentucky fans, go back and watch Tucker
Gleason for Toledo lits you up for two hundred and
seventy yards. You still got to win. But I think
there's a heavy momentum in my mind that Old Miss
is gonna want to make a statement after what happened
between these two last year.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
So it's a big number, double digits.
Speaker 4 (27:32):
Hate doing it sometimes in this case, lay the ten
points with old miss and finally SMU taking on Baylor.
Remember SMU is a playoff team just a year ago.
Kevin Jennings highly capable of being able to take off
with his.
Speaker 5 (27:48):
Legs, not just hurt you with his arm through the air.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
And this is a Baylor team that gave up a
bunch of yards in Week one to Auburn in that defeat.
So I think SMU get it done on the ground.
Jennings adds a little bit in the air, lay the
two and a half points with the SMU Mustangs.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
One thing to point out on the old mis pick
it is now dropped to eight.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
And a half.
Speaker 5 (28:09):
There you go, Okay, lay the eight and a.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
Half, so a point and a half drop what happened?
Speaker 4 (28:15):
Money money comes in on one side, and then most
people are kind of seeing it that. You know these
lines earlier in the week, or at least twenty four
hours ago, they're typically not as sharp as you get
closer to the game. Some people will think like injuries
play a factor and they do, I think more so
at the pro level than the college level. The college
level it's a little different circumstances, and honestly, the injury
information isn't always great. I mean, hell, it's hard for
(28:37):
game crews for them to get the information as far
as who's going to be actually you know, playing it
in some of these games. So trust me, it's hard
for anyone to get it. But usually it's it's the
money and movement and seeing some of these games and
understanding kind of how they're going to go.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
Is a Whittingham still pauling shenanigans with injured players and
giving out the accurate reports on.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
Has always been good with me. I've never dealt with that.
By the way, Devin Dampier their quarterback. Keep an eye
on him, man. He had a big, big week big
week Week one versus UCLA. But Utah is a team
to keep an eye on in the Big twelve this year.
Speaker 5 (29:13):
Because of him.
Speaker 3 (29:13):
That hasn't been discussed too much.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
Nico Iya Maliava.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Yeah, it was not discussed too much.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
That's a tough Week one matchup though, I mean Utah's
like the model of consistency, right, Yeah, And you've got
a quarterback now too that can sling it.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
Yeah, they have a great reputation on how they play man,
they should get a little bit more credit than what
they do.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Honestly, That's what I brought up to Petros and he
was like, yeah, but your Ucla football, Ucla stinks.
Speaker 5 (29:39):
Oh dang well.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
I think the point he's trying to make at least,
this is the point I would make is regardless of
where Ucla at is that from that standpoint is they
have more money because they're a part of the Big Ten.
And so the payout there getting from the Big ten
versus the payout there getting from the Big twelve is
you know, someone the ballpar work of maybe twenty million differents.
So you should be able to make up for that
(30:02):
in some capacity. And again, your Ucla, you're recruiting in
southern California. You know, I'm not saying that Utah can't recruiter,
can't put together a good roster. Clearly they have and
they drumm him last week. But there should be higher
expectations at a place like UCLA.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
I mean, they never recovered after man Man chose to
go to Penn State.
Speaker 3 (30:20):
Oh, don't do that.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
I was gonna say, I blame Troy Aikman.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
I mean, he's not donating enough to the collective on
I'm just saying, Troy, you're my guy, Troy love you. Yeah,
I think you're the best in the business calling games.
But you gotta help out your team, bro.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
They offer more than Penn State did there you go?
Speaker 4 (30:38):
Well, is that because the taxes though that they look
at And.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
I don't know they offer more though, And that is
an interesting aspect of it. All Right, you come there,
you go to certain I wonder how much if a
kid in the family is actually financially literate, how much
will that now play a part in the schools that
you choose to go to. Like I really like this school,
(31:04):
but if I go to this school, I'm going to
have to pay higher taxes on money that I make.
Like dang, Like that would be a horrible reason to
miss out on getting a prospect, right. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
And here's the only thing I don't know is with
the House NCAA settlement, I don't know if they're getting
compensated similar to the NFL, where for people out there
who don't know, you get taxed where you play. So
if you've got eight or nine home games with a
seventeen game season. Just it kind of depends, you know,
those are taxing in your home team, and then you're
taxed on the other eight or nine, you know, games
(31:37):
that are on the road. With college football, I haven't
gotten actually an explanation of if they're going to be
taxed purely where that home place is, which, to your
point of arre makes it even more enticing to obviously
look into that, or if it's going to be based
on where they play, which there can be some disadvantages
to certain places purely because of if they're playing a
(31:58):
certain schedule with teams and high income tax states. When
I work out quite.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
Well, I wonder if that's why A and M and
like SMU are going so hard because.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
That's very Texas tech Texas.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
But we're gonna get you all that oil money and
and you get.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
Tax breaks and it's Texas tech too because they're out
you know.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
Well, it helps too when you have a billionaire who's
a huge football fan or sports fan, right like Ishpa
at Michigan State's done. Worlds for them are helping out,
you know, putting a lot of money for that pro
those programs obviously is a Cody Campbell, I believe, who's
you know, been a huge piece of everything at Texas Tech.
(32:42):
So you usually every single program has one. You know,
Ruiz is the guy down in Miami. I mean he's
breaking off all sorts of different NIL deals. So I said,
you guys to report though. The other thing to keep it,
you know, keep an eye on, is what happens was
on these deals? You know that College Sports Commission via
(33:03):
nil go, which is the marketplace where they do all
these nil deals. I think they if I've read that
correct yesterday, tell me if I'm wrong. I think it
was like three hundred and some deals they denied or
there's like it's something like that they're trying to they
didn't fall within the confines of whatever the NIL deals
or how they're supposed to be structured.
Speaker 5 (33:22):
So I keep it on all that stuff while a drama.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
You mean to tell me that there's some misinformation out
there when it comes to some of this stuff.
Speaker 4 (33:30):
Yeah, yeah, unfortunately there's some misinformation. But one thing I
want to make sure you are informed about is what
depends doing depend on. The Prostay Cancer Foundation are here
to remind you that health is a long game and
Screening for prostay cancer is easier than ever. A simple
blood test can lead to better treatment options and better outcomes.
Speaker 5 (33:48):

Speaker 3 (33:50):
All right, who's your upset alert? Do you have any
upset alerts this week?
Speaker 4 (33:55):
Upset alerts? Let me think about that. I mean, technically
that'd be Michigan, it would be upsetting Oklahoma.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
That's why I say I put some money on the
money line, Like I think, I think this Michigan program
is in a much more stable position than where Oklahoma is.
And Oklahoma fans can take issue with that. But you know,
no one's talking about Sharon Moore being on potentially the
hot seat. You know, that's there's conversations about that with
print ventables. And I think if things don't go well
this year in Oklahoma or Norman, people are gonna start
(34:26):
questioning about the direction of how that program's going.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Man, I don't know. I'm looking at a FIU getting
forty one and a half.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
I mean.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Again, just out here looking at numbers.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
Well, we know, if they're playing Southern cal Lincoln Rody
would have put seventy on them, So he's probably trying
to cover that number.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Yeah, how big is there a number big enough. I
know we got to get the break, But just my
last question leading up to a big, big matchup against
Wisconsin and then after that Georgia. How big does Alabama
need to win this game to try to get some
of the pressure up off of the coach? That is there, right,
(35:10):
Caitlin de Boor?
Speaker 4 (35:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (35:13):
How much? I mean do that? Is there a number
high enough for them to be able to say, okay,
that at least gets us back on track for what
looks like it will be a really really compreditive game
with Wisconsin.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
No, I think they've got to I don't look at
it that way. I think they have to get a
string of wins. Like I don't think it's just one wink,
Like if you can't get back into the hunt in
the SEC. Not that their their matchup versus Florida State,
it was a conference battle. But if you can recover,
obviously make your biggest jump between week one and week
two in college football. But if you can recover and
(35:48):
then get a string of wins together and start winning
a conference play, I think that changes.
Speaker 5 (35:51):
The narrative a bit. But if you can't do that, yeah.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
That's that to me, it's where things start to fall
to the wayside, you know.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
Very quickly. I think now, after just kind of looking
at how teams played, I really do believe in having weaker,
weaker opponents early on. I really do get your game
legs under you so that you can play a full game.
I really do think that that would be the wise
decision instead of big games early right out of the shoot.
Speaker 1 (36:21):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
A lot of conversation about the open of the NFL season.
Last night you had the Eagles and the Cowboys. Philly
gets it done. For those of you that bet Philly
minus eight and a half, tough balls didn't happen, didn't
go your way, had a little bit everything there, had
a long weather delay, We had a brawl, if you will.
We had somebody spitting on somebody else, And that, of course,
(36:56):
was the topic of conversation that took place following the games.
So in all fairness, let's hear from both sides. First,
here was Dak Prescott explaining the situation that took place
with Jalen Carter last night in Philly.
Speaker 6 (37:09):
I probably spent a thousand times throughout the game, I mean,
especially game day, maybe even in general, and something I
guess I'm not proud of. But in that case, he
was trolling, I guess you could say, trying to mess
with Tyler Booker. I was just looking at him. I
was right here about the two linemen, and I guess
I needed to spit and I wasn't gonna spind on
my liman and I just spit ahead. But I would
say he was back there where Joelry was in that sense,
(37:31):
and he asked, or he goes, you're trying to spin
on me? And at that point, I mean, I felt
like like like he was insulting me, like I don't
I wouldn't spin on somebody. I'm damn sure not trying
to spin on you, like we're about to play a game.
I'm wondering why you're trying to mess with the Rookiets.
When I stepped through, I actually say the words like
what the hell would excuse me? But I'm probably even
more colorful, what would I need to spin on you for?
And he just spin on me in that moment and
(37:53):
was more of a surprise than anything. Refs obviously saw
it through the flag. I was like, hell yeah, we
get fifteen yards to start the game off.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
So there was Dak Prescott's explanation. The more I look
at his smirk to him after he spit, the more
I realized what he just said. There's a bunch of
garbage that feels like a feels like not so much
the truth from Dak Prescott. Jalen Carter, of course, was
asked about the situation afterwards, and he owned up to
the spitting incident.
Speaker 4 (38:21):
There's a state that have to saw it just happen again.
Speaker 8 (38:26):
If I feel bad for just my teammates and the
fans out there, you know I'm doing it for them.
You know what I'm doing for my family also. But
you know they showed the most love you heard. I'm
not that to day, y'all's not being able to think.
At the start the game, he ben at the game,
we'll get it better. That showed that Dak may have
some done something.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
First, do you feel like he parcipitated?
Speaker 8 (38:49):
I don't try to do nothing ordinary, you know, anything
that I feel like I've done something back is provoked
but you know.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
If it's out there, y'all see it.
Speaker 4 (38:59):
Yeah, do you think maybe that you don't know what
precipitated damn? Because he eventually got there, you know. But
but you could have just been like, do you do
you think Dak Prescott kind of egged you on or
baited you into it.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Give him the benefit of the doubt.
Speaker 4 (39:19):
You think he knows that he knew what he's saying.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
I'm a giving the benefit because.
Speaker 4 (39:23):
He could have came clean and said, yeah, dude, let
me be honest, that dude was talking trash. He's spitting
me first, and then I retaliated. I still can't do that.
But you know that was the genesis behind it, because
on on film.
Speaker 5 (39:34):
That's exactly what it looks like.
Speaker 4 (39:36):
Yeah, I mean, Jalen Carter's comments are more believable and
understandable than the Dak and what he's trying to explain.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
I agree, you know, honestly, I feel like that took
a lot of the luster of what of what the
real game for me, the story of the game was.
I think that there's a lot of things that have
to be maybe addressed in terms of for both teams
(40:05):
if they're going to be better moving forward into the future,
or it could end up possibly being problematic. And one
of those things is with Philly they didn't really develop there.
They didn't really develop their receivers in this game last night.
You know, it's interesting because when you looked at the
(40:28):
production chart of what guys did Johan Dotson led to
the team in receptions and Davante and AJ, Yeah, Davonta
and AJ their numbers were they you would probably say
below mediocre, like they were not good numbers at all.
(40:48):
Their production was not there. And on the other side
of the ball, on the other side of what's going
on with the team, I should say teams Dallas did
not get very much out of Pickens and it was
very established that even now with that him being involved.
And I don't know if this continues on, but it's
(41:09):
something to pay attention to. Ceedee Lamb is who he's
looking for. Ceedee Lamb is his priority and that's that
and accept that.
Speaker 2 (41:18):
And Jake Ferguson and I tried to tell everybody about
Jake Ferguson.
Speaker 3 (41:22):
Except that that Cedee Lamb is the one, and then
there's everybody else. Yes, Ferguson got some some some targets,
but Pickens only got three three balls and you start
to ask yourself the question you had to deal with
Ceedee Lamb getting frustrated last year. But is a George
(41:43):
Pickens a bigger deal, a bigger distraction, a bigger personality
to have to deal with if this continues to be
the trend for this Dallas offense. So, and we do
know that's something surface like I'm bouncing back and forth
between teams, but we did. We do know that late
in the season, you know, the book reading on the
(42:04):
sideline and all the stuff with aj Brown to balance
himself out and center himself to be able to stay
focused and positive. That became a thing last year, and
I wonder if if that becomes a thing.
Speaker 2 (42:19):
I mean, George Pickins did get an unnecessary roughness last night,
so he did. There was a personal foul.
Speaker 4 (42:28):
I'll say this in regards to Philly, A couple things
to take into consideration. It was Kevin Pattolo's first game
calling plays for Philly right there, ow C. So there's
that element of it, right. Kella Moore moves on, so
maybe he's still trying to kind of find his way
in regards to getting some of those guys targets and touches.
Because going back to AJ Brown, he only had one target,
(42:50):
So it's not like he wasn't Jalleen Hurts and him
weren't connecting. It didn't seem like it was a high
priority to get him as involved. Maybe it was more
of a priority for Matt Eberfluss to take away AJ Brown.
I think when you look at it when it's all
said and done, I mean, Dvante Smith only had three receptions,
and if you take away Dotson's you know, fifty one
yard catch on the two minute drive, he had eight
(43:13):
yards receiving. So even in saying that he led them
in receiving, which he was a big pick up for
them in my opinion this offseason because they needed to
find a number three receiver, so they got that. But
I just I look at it and say, could both
offenses be better, no doubt about it. I also think
this is that early time of the year where defenses
are a head of offenses, and last night was an
(43:34):
example of that. I think those are two very good
football teams. Though, when I went back and was kind
of looking through some of the highlights of the different plays,
it felt like both the teams are pretty good in
the trenches, especially on the offensive line. Philly's really good
upfront defensively, but Dallas isn't bad either. I mean, obviously
they would have been better with Micah having Micah Parsons there.
(43:57):
That being said, I came away kind of optimistic for Dallas,
even though that wasn't as much of my my season predictions.
How it went and they lost obviously, but I came
away thinking, Okay, this actually looks like a team that
could be a playoff team.
Speaker 5 (44:12):
Get back to it.
Speaker 4 (44:12):
I don't think they're gonna fall off just because they
lost their best overall play in Michael Parsons.
Speaker 3 (44:20):
The biggest Yeah, it was.
Speaker 2 (44:23):
And I also every time I watch Dak Prescott, I'm like,
I think he's way better than people give him credit
for he is. And I just but I don't know, like,
is it because he's a Dallas cowboy? Like, like what
is it about?
Speaker 3 (44:39):
There's just it's because he has not shown people with
as good as he is. And you can look at
him statistically, you can look at him wins wise and
say that it's justified to call him an elite quarterback.
It's justified to say he's a really, really fine quarterback.
It's just he doesn't give you the feeling that he's
(44:59):
going to cre you above the threshold that they have
already hit. And I think that that's a hard judgment.
You know, it's.
Speaker 4 (45:07):
Playoff performances, Like he's he's to the point now where
we know he's a franchise quarterback. He's been paid like
a franchise quarterback. They've been to the playoffs. But now
it's what you do in the playoffs and what you
do to get your team to a championship, because that's
that's the standard that by the way, he's created for himself,
Like he's played well enough to your point, Jonas, where
(45:28):
I think that's a given. Now it's like your expectation
is for him to make plays like.
Speaker 5 (45:32):
He did last night.
Speaker 4 (45:33):
Like I was really impressed with some of his scrambles
early on too, you know, switching ball from his right
arm to his left arm, then quickly getting him back
to make a throw in the sideline. There's a couple
times where I was like, dude, that's that's some nifty stuff.
Like that's much harder to do than he's probably getting
credit for. But it's so different than Lamar Jackson Josh Allen.
I mean, great, those guys have been MVPs. We judge
(45:56):
it for its well yeah yeah, but we still judge,
and you're still judge them and say, like, are they
gonna win a Super Bowl?
Speaker 3 (46:03):
Right?
Speaker 4 (46:03):
Like, as good as they are, it's almost a given. Yeah,
they're gonna be playoff teams. Yeah they should be up
for the MVP. But when they.
Speaker 3 (46:11):
Win a Super Bowl now yeah yeah, yeah they haven't.
Speaker 4 (46:13):
And I think Dak, to his credit, has played well enough.
I'm not putting him up there with Lamar and Josh
because he hasn't played that well yet, but he has
played really well to the point where I think it's
a given. We look at him as a guy that
can get his team in the playoffs, just what can
they do after that? So the judgment is more gonna
come with his playoff performances.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
In my opinion, I just also think, why are we
about to say the same exact thing.
Speaker 2 (46:36):
Because we're the same guy. Man, whoa bro up top bar?
Speaker 3 (46:40):
WHOA No, I don't want that, don't want that type
of credit. But you do also have to think, is
this Dallas team trending in the right direction? You got
to believe a lot of what your opinion is on
that would be a dictating aspect of how you're judging
the players on his team, especially Dak Prescott, and I
think overwhelmingly most people would say that this team, even
(47:05):
we just heard Albert Breer say, this move seems like
it indicates a punting of the season almost really in
a way, them starting a rebuild of what the Dallas
Cowboy team is going to be. So if you're not,
if you're one of the people that are looking at
this team trending in upward direction, then maybe you have
a different opinion. But I think if you don't have
(47:26):
a high opinion on Dallas and where they're projecting to
go this season, I think that plays a lot into
why people are very critical and skeptical of what dat
Prescott can bring to the table as a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
Yeah, it does feel like they got it. Feels like
the past two offseasons they've gotten worse. Because we had
the conversation a year ago, did they upgrade off the
bad playoff loss to the Packers, and it was well, no,
and then this offseason, you lost your head coach, you
lost your best player. Yeah, died George Pickens, but he's
on a contract year and who really knows with him,
(48:02):
it's a wild card. It feels like they've regressed the
past two off seasons. But yeah, you come away from
last night and you go, they looked better than I
think maybe some people expected, especially in the betting markets,
but they still lost the game. So it's this is
where we are with them, you know, on the subject.
Speaker 5 (48:21):
Are we being too soft on them? By the way
too Like I feel like.
Speaker 4 (48:25):
The way the game started, and Anna LaVar, I think
you might have said or maybe Jonas you said it
like it kind of took away from the storyline. But
this is Dallas Cowboys team to just trade away it's
best player. I don't know at the end if it
would have, if you would have, you know, made a
sack or player that would have made the difference. I'm
leaning towards saying probably would have been the case. Or
(48:46):
if you're asking Kevin Pozzolo before he's game planning and
they're like, phew, we don't got to worry about that guy, right,
Like your game plan in Philly probably changed a decent
amount as far as the pass protections. With what you're
trying to do how long you're going to hold on
the football, you know, are you're rolling too or obviously
(49:06):
away from Micah Parsons all those things, And I just
I wonder if we're being a little soft on him,
only because at times, I mean, like they jumped out
to a lead, they looked crispy, looked smooth, and maybe
we didn't have high expectations, but this is still a
team in an organization that trade away it's best player,
and I just I wonder if we're being fooled, Like
this is what Jerry Jones does. He keeps their name
(49:29):
throughout the course of the offseason out there, and then
when they get into it, yeah, maybe they're good enough
to win, to get in the playoffs, but then that's
kind of the end of it, like because that's a
position there right.
Speaker 2 (49:38):
Now and not good enough to win a super Bowl,
but not bad enough to be a complete disaster, almost
like just kind of treading water, getting your hopes up,
but not not too far up and still be skeptical. Yeah,
and I think it. And then there was a report
that came out yesterday that you know, according to Adam Schefter,
that the Eagles pursued a trade with Micah Parsons, this
(50:00):
off well, and of course they should have. And of
course they would because they're one of the teams that
does that. And Howie Rosma will kick any tire that's
laying around the league, including one like that. So I
wanted to throw just a hypothetical at you guys, all right,
and just tell me if you believe, because they don't
want to trade him in the division. But if you're
to believe everything that Jerry Jones was saying following the
(50:22):
trade of Micah Parsons, in which he said, we need
to get better at stopping the run. This is going
to help us do that. If Philly would have said,
we'll give you Jalen Carter, does Dallas do the deal
even if it's in the division. Do you think Dallas
does the deal?
Speaker 4 (50:40):
Yes, I think there would have to be. I don't
think it's an even swap. I think there's still because
here's the problem is, Philly is a team that if
you're getting draft picks, you know their picks will be
laying in the round. So let's say they say Jalen
Carter and a one for Micah Parsons. If that's the case,
(51:01):
you're picking I mean, the way I have it, you're
not picking Toil the late twenties, right or thirty.
Speaker 5 (51:10):
So I don't know.
Speaker 4 (51:12):
I think you'd contemplate it, for sure, because Carter is
that hell of a player.
Speaker 5 (51:16):
And obviously if you're the.
Speaker 4 (51:17):
Dallas Cowboys, you're not concerned about some of the off
the field stuff that that was it his you know history, clearly,
because you've dealt with that before and you've been dealing.
Speaker 2 (51:29):
Yeah, we're dealing with it and it hasn't been an issue.
Speaker 5 (51:32):
So yeah, I just.
Speaker 3 (51:34):
I don't think that this is about that, though. I
think what Philly was in my estimation, what that would
be is a very very strategically sound and very astute
way of gaining you know, recon on your opponent. They
got to have the conversation, so let's hear what they
(51:55):
think about Michael Parsons. By putting out there the idea
that you would be interested in making the trade. To me,
I thought I would say when I heard that, that's
more posturing, like let's let's lob this out there and
see how they react to it. Let's lob this out there.
Because whether they kept Michael Parsons or ended up doing
what they did and dealing him. I think that Philly
(52:19):
was gaining, you know, valuable knowledge on on what the
practices are and how they're approaching what they're doing with
their personnel in Dallas. You know, you got to have
the conversation like and not probably depending on how serious
you know, the Dallas Cowboys were with trying to figure
out a trade partner. You have to have in depth
(52:40):
conversations as to how you would if it is Jalen
Carter or whatever it may be. You got to have
in depth conversations to see what it is that you
can make this a feasible trade to take place. So
to me, I look at it more as that was
more of a strategy and a recon deal for Philadelphia
rather than it being a true, you know, testing of
(53:03):
are we going to bring Michael Parsons to Philly, even
though that would be an amazing story because he's from
Harrisburg and we all know Harrisburg is right down the
street from Philly. But I mean, he's a pa kid.
But I don't think that that would have been feasible
to see that really really come to fruition.
Speaker 2 (53:20):
You know, It's kind of interesting, is that they did
a trade on draft day a couple of years ago,
and that's what led to Michael Parsons in Dallas. So
Philly jumped up and took DeVante Smith and then Dallas
was sitting at twelve and that's how they ended up
with Michael Parsons. So little fun throwback to a draft
day a couple of years ago with Michael Parsons. But
(53:42):
he's he's elsewhere. And now Dallas is going to be
sort of a mediocre football team. But a tease, maybe
they'll be one of those teams that's just really good
against the spread. You know, maybe they'll be one of
those teams that performs really good and it's like, yeah,
maybe they suck and they won't win a Super Bowl,
but they Yeah.
Speaker 4 (53:58):
But those teams, they have a soft spot, a spot
in our heart, you know. Agree, those are the teams
that we love. We can say we don't because they lose,
but deep down, you know you love those teams.
Speaker 2 (54:07):
I'm with you, I'm with you. There's and there's there's
a lot of love this morning. I'll tell you.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
That, Yes, there is. That's for sure, really productive this morning, it.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
Really really really is.
Speaker 4 (54:22):
Wait, I haven't seen I haven't seen Lee in an hour.
By the way the camera, I think him and Lorena
being productive.
Speaker 2 (54:29):
What are we doing, Lee?
Speaker 3 (54:30):
I Man, at some point they gotta admit that they
they got something going on.
Speaker 2 (54:34):
Man, we're looking at pictures of Veto with his shirt off.
Speaker 3 (54:39):
At some point Lorena and Lee have to admit that
there's In fact, I think it would make for great radio.
Speaker 2 (54:49):
LeVar, since vetos here, why don't you call him out
for the open? Why don't you different?
Speaker 3 (54:56):
Did that whip my sound with the sound of me talking?
The imaging he's he would not do that to me.
He would He would make me sound way more intelligent
with the sound bites that he would grab and put
into my open, not not had every single time would
come as me, Oh it makes that noise. Oh they
called me thump for Arrington. Like I know, Veto knows
(55:18):
there's a little bit more substance to me than sound
effects and joking around. You know, I can be funny
and be you know, kind of you know, intelligent at
the same time I.
Speaker 5 (55:29):
Know that I think you're a good dude.
Speaker 3 (55:32):
Man, You sure, because I know you're not one of
the whole punches. You know, you you might be like
LaVar yeah, I wouldn't say you got way too have
an opinion of yourself, you know, Yeah, No, you're not
that type of guy for certain you know. Yeah, Well
I'm glad. I'm glad I passed jolls. You know. Obviously
the imaging guy I don't pass that test, but you
(55:53):
know I'm glad I passed it with you guys. Thank you, bro. Yeah,
you know I feel a little what a veats beats? Hey?
Speaker 5 (56:03):

Speaker 2 (56:11):

Speaker 3 (56:14):
Don't know that.
Speaker 2 (56:19):
Well, I do know this.
Speaker 3 (56:21):
Because of how dark I am, because I'm out of
the light and see everybody's got everybody's got jokes and
vetos wanted. Look, he ain't been on the air for
more than two seconds and he's already taking a shot out.
Speaker 5 (56:32):
Come on, will be so sensitive, man, let's go.
Speaker 3 (56:34):
