(01:35):
earlier in the show, a very bizarre day, a lot
of blocked kicks, a lot of incredible defensive performances, whether
you want to talk about what the Cleveland Browns did
to Jordan Lovin company, or you want to talk about
just some of the other offenses that were stifled. Steve
Spagnolo and the Kansas City Chiefs, making Russell Wilson and
(01:58):
the Giants remember that they're not playing the Cowboys like
they did last night. A lot of really really impressive performances.
Tip of the cap to the La Chargers the Bolts
in a game they probably had no business winning. Somehow,
come back, Dick or the Kicker gets it done. Dick
or the Kicker, Cameron Dicker gets it done last night.
Speaker 7 (02:20):
So Danny Dimes Man, I mean, he is the hottest
quarterback in the NFL. Right now, did they punt once yesterday?
Speaker 8 (02:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:27):
One time on the year.
Speaker 7 (02:29):
It's incredible, man, I mean this is like comeback season
for a number of guys.
Speaker 8 (02:33):
So kudos to him.
Speaker 7 (02:35):
Kudos to and by the way, this kind of like
makes Anthony and Richardson look really bad. This is almost
venturing into like kind of Trey Lance San Francisco forty
nine territory kind of right.
Speaker 6 (02:45):
Yeah, And I also thought about this is the second
year in a row somebody the Giants moved off of
has gone on to. I mean, at least he's off
to a good start. But he saw Saguon Barkley last year,
he saw Daniel Owns this year. I mean, both of
those guys were in New York with the Giants. So
(03:05):
it does make not only Anthony Richardson look bad, it
makes I think it makes the Giants organization look bad.
And who knows, man, like with Houston being you know,
a mess, which is you know, a big conversation as
well too, maybe it's just gonna be Indianapolis that runs
a rough shot in that division and and ends up
winning that division, which would be, you know, an incredible
(03:27):
job by Shane Steichen and I just don't know a
lot of people thought that Jonathan Taylor were three touchdowns yesterday.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
He was great.
Speaker 6 (03:34):
Maybe Indianapolis is the goods. Maybe maybe this is they've
got some staying power there.
Speaker 5 (03:39):
Maybe, so you know, uh didn't Did the Falcons get
shut out yesterday?
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Somebody got shut out?
Speaker 8 (03:48):
Panthers?
Speaker 5 (03:50):
Yeah, that was a crazy game that looked they actually
looked really good in that game.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
I was so close to taking Carolina in that game.
I don't know why I didn't.
Speaker 8 (03:59):
Son up a bitch.
Speaker 5 (04:00):
What does it say about the Falcons though, because you
don't have to think that that was the one team
that you thought would possibly be competitive in that that
division and maybe challenge Tampa Bay for But it just
seems like that's Tampa's Tampa's division. I mean, Carolina isn't
going to turn into I don't think into like a
(04:23):
divisional competitor. Now. It just seems like that's a one horse,
one horse dead, A shutout Carolina Panthers shut you out.
That's I don't that's concerning if I'm if I'm the Falcons, I.
Speaker 6 (04:38):
Mean, you don't think Carolina is capable of that?
Speaker 5 (04:41):
No disrespectful man doesn't happen very often. But dang for
a team that isn't very considered to be very good,
that's just it's not good. Man. If you're if you're
the Falcons, that's just that's not good. What are you, like,
what is the production level of Pinnix or your what
plays are your OC calling? Like what who's out there
(05:04):
running routes? Like who's running the who's blocking? Like how
do you get shut out? For body Carolina Panthers. That's
gotta be what the questions are in Carolina today. Not good,
I mean in Atlanta, not good.
Speaker 6 (05:23):
Did see some Kirk cubsins out there though, you guess
what they have to do, But no quarterback controversy.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
They're not thinking about bench and Michael Pennix. They just
put Kirk out there because the the game was completely
out of reach, completely out of hand.
Speaker 7 (05:39):
So I want to go back to the Green Bay
Cleveland game because if you're if you're wondering, if you're
a Packers fan, like how this happened?
Speaker 8 (05:46):
I mean one we talked about that.
Speaker 7 (05:48):
The defense the Browns, I mean Miles Garrett's I think
he's the best defensive player in the league. I mean
they had three guys on him one point. But like
I look back at at that game, Love throws the
backed up interception that kind of puts them I believe.
I think I touched on off that on the ensuing
(06:09):
drive and what happened. But there's just times where if
there's one thing that might hold back Green Bay, it's
like those situations and going back to his time in
college and then back to what I've seen from so
far in the NFL is he's usually a pretty good
decision maker, but from time to time, he'll he'll make
a throw, he'll make a decision where're like, oh and
(06:31):
just brace your back. That might be one of the
only things holding back this Koreen Bay team. I think
they're that good. As far as the chance to win
a Super Bowl this year, I might come down to,
like a playoff game, NFC Championship and just a force throw.
That's a bad decision, bad spot, because I kind of
felt like that's what sparked really Cleveland having any opportunity
(06:54):
in that game.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
That was still close. That's that's the thing. It's weird
because to see Cleveland play a game like that, put
one together like that, it makes you wonder like, can
they can they be sneaky competitive? They do have a defense.
Defense is great, man, they do have a defense, and
(07:18):
it just makes you wonder, can they pull it together
enough where, I mean, what they could contend for? I mean,
I guess I can't see that, but I mean, right now,
you'd only assume that it's only the Ravens in the
NFC North that are maybe the most insurmountable of teams.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Right now.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
I mean, Pittsburgh seems to be okay. They they're finding
their way okay, but I don't think that they're like,
you know, unlike a team that's not beatable. And Cincinnati
look pedestrian this past weekend without without Joe Burrow so
and listen, you gotta play games outside of the division.
(08:03):
But that was a quality win by this Cleveland Browns team. Like,
that's not like a you know, they had to fight
to get that. It wasn't it wasn't like it was
given to them. They had to fight to get that.
And that's it. I mean, that's that's it a lot
to me. And looking at this Cleveland Browns team, maybe
they're not as sellar dwellerish as I originally thought them
(08:25):
to be.
Speaker 6 (08:25):
Plus I think it showed a lot of perseverance to
have to wear that awful uniform and then to come
out there and perform the way they did.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
It showed a lot about just their you know, their fight.
Speaker 8 (08:37):
What do you mean by that?
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Is ugly ass uni.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (08:45):
By the way, they're at the Lions, next the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
So yeah, what do you mean by that?
Speaker 3 (08:52):
They're at the at the Lions. Then they've got the
Vikings and the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
It's really good.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
Cue, it's really good. You do a great job of it.
Then brown helmet's got to go though.
Speaker 8 (09:05):
Really yeah, they that's like their new thing for this year.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
They gotta go.
Speaker 8 (09:08):
People trying to hide those up.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
That's too much brown man. I mean not for me
but of course, but for some people, that's just too
much brown. Brown over the last to my.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Wedding right now, disrespectful man. Now with that being said.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
That's what you're going with me, invite you to my
wedding any really fastive things.
Speaker 6 (09:37):
So, four teams in the history of the NFL have
started the season oh and three and gone to the playoffs.
The Texans in twenty eighteen were the last team to
do it. Uh nobody's done it since they expanded the
playoffs to uh seven teams in each conference. So for
those of you that are oh and three in the NFL,
(09:59):
it's not looking great. It doesn't look great for several
teams around the league who are staring that fate in
the eyes. The Jets are owned three, the Dolphins are
owned three, the Texans, the Titans, I mean, the Giants,
as we've mentioned, the Saints. I feel like we kind
(10:21):
of had. The Texans, though, is the one that's you have.
Houston's the one that's most surprising to me, like they
do not look anywhere close to what they look like
with c. J. Stroud's rookie year. And I don't know
what you attribute that to. I don't know if it's
the change of coordinators. Can you remember they had, you know,
(10:43):
they made an offensive coordinator change after year two and
that was the guy Bobby Slowik who was interviewing for
head coaching jobs. So I don't know what happened there,
the Joe Mixon not being in the lineup, what that's done,
trading away Laramie Tunsel. But Houston looks like a shell
of what they were even last year.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
In the year before. They don't look like the same team.
Speaker 9 (11:07):
You.
Speaker 8 (11:09):
I don't have a hard time coming up with reasons why, though.
Speaker 7 (11:12):
I mean, it feels like it's kind of one thing,
depending on the game, depending on the week.
Speaker 8 (11:16):
And I know people have taken shots at Stroud.
Speaker 7 (11:18):
I don't think Stroud's lost his ability to look how
he looked his rookie year. I think it's some scheme.
I think it's some inability to consistently run the football.
I think defensively they've they've been all right. But it
just it feels like one of those teams that I'm
not sure what to make of them, Like, I don't
I don't think they're out of it because they play
in a division where it's hard to think the Colts
(11:41):
can sustain this.
Speaker 8 (11:42):
But maybe I'm wrong. I mean, I just I still
think they're one of the more talented teams.
Speaker 7 (11:46):
I still think you look at him and I'd say
he's probably the most talented quarterback in that division. Maybe
you'd say Trevor Lawrence is more talented. I mean, Daniel
Jones is playing the best, and I don't know we
look at him as a quarterback in that division. Maybe
just how he's playing right now, but it's really hard
to put your finger on what has gone wrong.
Speaker 8 (12:07):
And if there's any team that is kind of on
the brink like this is it.
Speaker 7 (12:12):
If you don't win this game at home versus oh
in three Tennessee Titans team this week, there's gonna be
some soul searching going on. Like you almost like would
say it's such a bad start that they have to
do something like there has to be a change, just
because that's how most ownership groups react because it's been
so bad. If they somehow lose to the Titans at
home and go to four.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
Duvol they'd look pretty good, man. I mean, they're not
putting a lot of points on the board, but they're
they're playing effectively enough to be able to win games.
And I just wonder, you know, you look at the
Texans and the games that they've played so far.
Speaker 6 (12:52):
I mean, I mean Nico Collins fumble yesterday was obviously critical, but.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
It just doesn't look crap.
Speaker 9 (13:00):
Man.
Speaker 5 (13:01):
They don't look impressive. They don't and again to be
so limited and what they're able to do because their
defense was giving them opportunities to win the game and
their offense just wasn't able to deliver what was what
was needed or necessary. I mean, you you keep a
(13:22):
team under twenty points, you should have the opportunity to
win the game. They just there's in the net ness
about their offense right now that like kind of like
what Q said, I can't really put my finger on it.
I don't really know what it is. Maybe it's a
maybe it is a lack of weapons for him. I mean,
(13:42):
who's the who is really established themselves as the guy?
Speaker 3 (13:47):
Collins?
Speaker 5 (13:48):
I like Nico Collins, but I mean, how did that
go yesterday? How did that go the week before? You know,
I don't I don't know what his stat line is,
but I just I don't feel like that emergence has
has taken place for the Texans offensively.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
So I don't know if it's I don't know if
it's CJ.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
Stroud and it's just now he's settling into what it's
like to play quarterback in the league with film on you.
And maybe the rookie year. The rookie season was something
that was, you know, maybe a bit of an anomaly.
But they don't look like even last year was crazy,
like they made it out of the first round of
the playoffs. They just didn't look like a super impressive
(14:32):
team last year, like, and so to me, I was
looking at him like feeling like maybe they're not as
maybe they're fools goal team. I don't know, but they
did make the playoffs and they did make it out
of first round.
Speaker 6 (14:45):
Do you think LeVar should deserve some blame for sort
of the the lack of pizazz that the Houston Texans have.
You say that, well, because last year when we were
picking our divisions before the year to the AFC South, and.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
You didn't even bother.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Yeah, I ain't bother.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
It's like I don't care.
Speaker 5 (15:06):
And I generally try not to remember the teams in
the AFC South because they all stink. But but give
the Colts some credit. The Colts have come out of
the you know, they they came out fighting this year.
And Daniel Jones looks pretty dang going good. I ain't
gonna say, I ain't gonna give him too many high
high marks, but he's definitely playing well enough to give
(15:29):
them a great opportunity.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
And I think.
Speaker 5 (15:31):
Jacksonville's playing pretty well too. I mean not two on one,
no second in the division. They I mean they got
an opportunity to kind of compete for the division this
year as well as I'm happy for for Trevor. I mean,
I think there's more, there's more to it for him,
and he's going to have to have more for them
to be able to maybe take a definitive step forward.
But at least they've started out at the gate. Not
(15:54):
too bad, you know, not too bad so far.
Speaker 6 (15:58):
Well, listen, I know, uh here on this show, show
it's not too bad. Anytime we can catch up with

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Got bat And that's tough to beat.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
You like your voice? Peak?
Speaker 9 (18:53):
I do, like my? Do you like yours? Lard LeVar? Right?
Speaker 8 (19:00):
The damn the gates going after?
Speaker 2 (19:03):
It's all right, It's sorry, Pete.
Speaker 9 (19:06):
Sorry, you're like very white. You're like Barry White back
in the day.
Speaker 7 (19:10):
You know, uh, Pete, you've been covering the league for
a long time, over thirty years.
Speaker 8 (19:16):
Have you ever seen a weekend like that?
Speaker 7 (19:18):
Have you had that many block kits that were influential
on the outcome of games?
Speaker 9 (19:22):
No? Never, And it was incredible. Every and you know
what's going to happen this week. Every single team in
the league is going to be spending extra time working
on their field goal protection unit. I mean, it was
all and it happened like right all at the same time.
You had the one in in Philly, Yeah, the one
in Tampa, and then you had the Cleveland one, where God,
they could have picked that up and won the game
(19:43):
without even having to kick a field goal. If they had,
you know, they played made to play the right way.
So it's it's look, I hate special teams. You know that,
but but it added to the drama on Sunday. And
there's nothing like this league. Every single game comes down
to the end, everyone with the except of a few
each week, and that's what makes it such a great league.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
Why do you hate special teams?
Speaker 9 (20:07):
I like playing football. I mean you're kicking and punting,
and it's just this should have never been my thing.
I mean, you know, field goal kickers have all damn
day to stand around with their pals and they're snapper
and their holder and they stand on another field and
they kick all day and then they get in the
game and the yankets in the left. I mean, come on,
your job is to make the damp kick, make the
damn kick. And you know, then the kickoff rules have
(20:29):
made it so complicated, and now now the new thing is, well,
I'm inside my flive, so I'm gonna field my punt.
What are these guys doing? It used to be if
your feet were inside the ten, you don't field it now.
I hear it's the eight. What are we doing the ball?
Let the ball go nine times out of ten it
is going to go into the end zone for a touchback?
Speaker 7 (20:48):
What are they doing?
Speaker 8 (20:50):
I don't think that's right.
Speaker 7 (20:51):
I think these punters have gotten so good at being
able to back that thing up that now they're they're like, hey,
if we let it balance, someone's going to the kick
coverage team, some one's gonna be able to down inside
the five.
Speaker 8 (21:02):
So maybe that's something to do with it.
Speaker 9 (21:03):
Oh wait, wait, so let me stand on the on
the seven or eight and fair catch it rather than
take a chance to figure that's going to go into
the end zone. Great, come on, y break, I'm pete.
Speaker 8 (21:13):
I'm just telling you.
Speaker 7 (21:14):
These punters are not like what you were accustomed to
twenty thirty years ago when you first got in the league.
Speaker 8 (21:19):
These kids do this on the regular.
Speaker 9 (21:20):
Let's just say it up. Let's say he backs it up. Okay,
it ball hits under two and he backs it up
to the five. So it's worth the risk for three
yards or two yards?
Speaker 7 (21:29):
Yeah, because that difference really allows your punter if you're
surely just trying to create enough space to punt. Yeah,
that allows him actually to have room punters stand fourteen yards.
Back to the little snapper. I know you knew all
this because you fall in the league forever. But yeah,
that's actually the difference of a potential pump block and
then changing the entire operations and then those three yards.
Speaker 8 (21:48):
So yes, that actually makes a big difference.
Speaker 9 (21:50):
No, it's not worth it. It's not worth it. It's
not worth it. It just isn't worth.
Speaker 7 (21:53):
Good argument, Pete, Pete, I'm gonna give you a number
of Oh, I'm gonna give you a number of O.
Speaker 8 (21:58):
So let's move on. You lost that one. We'll move on.
Which team that's oh in three?
Speaker 7 (22:02):
Right now? Are you in panic milling on the Dolphins, Titans, Texans, Giants.
I'm not gonna include Saints that no one really cares
about them.
Speaker 9 (22:13):
Ah, oh wow, you took a shot at the Saints
out the door.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
Okay, Well they.
Speaker 7 (22:18):
Don't have expectations in by the way, the Jets should
have include the Jets.
Speaker 9 (22:22):
Do you want me to ask who the worst of
that group is?
Speaker 7 (22:25):
Well, no, I think I've got an idea who you're
gonna say. For that, I'm just saying which one of
those three. You're like, this is actually a good football team,
and if they don't win this week, it's done.
Speaker 8 (22:32):
It's over.
Speaker 9 (22:35):
The Texans. The Texans defense is really good, the Texans
offense stinks, and then their schedule is absolutely brutal, and
they play the other three Titans this week. So if
they don't win this game, they're finished. They're over, they're done.
I mean, you look at their schedule, if you just
take a glance down, they be they'll be Even if
they beat the Titans, they're gonna be hard pressed to
(22:56):
win five or six games. That's how bad that schedule is.
And they're not good. And remember all off season we've
happed the offensive line. It's gonna be so much better.
On the offensive line, they've gotten worse. TJ. Stroud is
going to be improved because of the offensive line. He's
got worse. Nico Collins could make plays. You got nobody else.
The team isn't very good right now on the offensive
side of the ball, and it shows up. Oh and
(23:17):
they can turn around the hand off to a running
back who is sixty five years old and his knees
have been gone for three years. I mean, it's just
they need to change. Woody Marx needs to play running backs. Look,
it's sad. It's this cruel reality the NFL. You get old,
to get injured and you can't run the ball like
you sud Nick Chubb was once a great back. He's
not anymore. So play Woody marks the offensive line. They
(23:37):
got rid of their left tackle and they've gotten worse.
And then you know, receivers. You got to start playing
those younger guys and get them involved in the passing game.
So I think they have major problems and they're the
biggest disappointment right now.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Pete.
Speaker 5 (23:48):
Are the Colts fools gold or should we be believers
in Daniel Jones and this team.
Speaker 9 (23:54):
I'm not a believer yet. And I said that last
night on our show, and everybody got all over me.
I said, you know what the record is to come by,
records of the teams they've beatn this at one and eight,
And okay, well you gotta beat who you play. I
get it. But they beat the Titans and the Dolphins,
and those two teams are awful. So let's hold off
on the coronation of Daniel Jones getting it, getting everything
(24:15):
that was bad in his game wiped out by Kevin
O'Connell and Minnesota, and now he's on to bigger and
better things. Is he playing better football? Yes, but let's
be real, look at the competition hadn't been great. They
beat the Broncos at home, probably shouldn't have won that
game either, and then they beat Miami and Tennessee, who
are basically, you know, roadblocks on the I mean the
(24:36):
you know speed bumps on the road when you're trying
to get through it. That's what they are.
Speaker 8 (24:39):
Aha.
Speaker 9 (24:41):
You never say it looks it all. It's just like
remember last week Jack Browning, Oh my god, he was
four and great. Jack Browning was four and three when
he played.
Speaker 7 (24:53):
We took a different stance on that one, Pete. We
were just more excited about who would be coming to
see Jake Clark Browning play, So we kind of took
a different stance on that. I look at the Browns
Packers the way that game ended. A couple of things.
Is Miles Garrett the best defensive player in the league.
I mean there were triple teaming him at sometimes at some.
Speaker 9 (25:15):
Points, Well he is right now, yeah, I mean the
other guy on the other side wasn't getting triple team
was he? I didn't think so. I mean, you know,
Michael Parsons.
Speaker 8 (25:23):
I saw Judkins hip him and knock him down.
Speaker 9 (25:26):
He chipped him and knocked him down. And he didn't
look like he liked that chip very much, did he?
Because they never liked the chip. And and the other
guy's getting triple team the entire game. I mean, yeah,
if you asked me which one is a better, better player,
I would take Miles Garrett over Michael Parsons, So would you, wow?
Speaker 2 (25:41):
And so no, I wouldn't.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
No, I would wouldn't. Don't put words in my mouth,
Pete Prisco, It's not sure.
Speaker 9 (25:51):
If Miles Garrett went to Penn State, you'd put him
in the Hall of Fame already.
Speaker 5 (25:55):
Uh, that's probably true. That is probably true. But I
think Michael Parsons is more of a generational player than
Miles Garrett.
Speaker 9 (26:05):
What are you talking about that?
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Don't lie.
Speaker 9 (26:09):
Wait, he's more of a generational player. Miles Garrett is
the best defensive player in the league.
Speaker 5 (26:16):
Michael Parsons is more of a generational player than Miles Garrett.
And if you were asking me who would I choose
to put on my franchise between the two, I go
with Michael Parsons.
Speaker 9 (26:27):
Well, you're you're the you're the only guy, and you're
the And by the.
Speaker 5 (26:31):
Way, I don't I've never followed the crowd, you know,
I really haven't.
Speaker 9 (26:35):
You know, you follow anybody who has Penn State next
to their name.
Speaker 5 (26:37):
No, that's not true. I'm not a blind homer either.
I'm not that are and I'm not and I'm not
an apologist either. I actually shoot from the hip, shoot
from the hits LeVar Miles.
Speaker 9 (26:48):
Michael Parsons is a great player, but he's not better
than Miles Garrett. And there's and there's no GM in
the league that would take other than age if if
age didn't factor in, and if you ask all these
gms who they would take, they would takes.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
What do you factor into saying that.
Speaker 9 (27:02):
Though he's a better pass rusher, he.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Does is pass rush?
Speaker 9 (27:11):
Does do you think Michael Parsons plays the run when
it's at him very well?
Speaker 5 (27:14):
I mean, Michael Parsons can play to run. Michael Parsons
could come off the line of Scrimma if he wanted
to chase down.
Speaker 9 (27:20):
He could chase down runs. I'll give you that. But
when the runs at him, that's the whole book.
Speaker 8 (27:24):
On his run at him.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
No, I mean no, Michaeh. Michaeh makes plays. I listen, listen.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
Miles Garrett is a true what you would call a
true defensive end size wise, the the ability is, it's phenomenal.
I don't know that I would say Miles Garrett is
better than t J.
Speaker 8 (27:45):
Watt.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
I might take t J. Watt before I take Miles Garrett.
I'm just being honest.
Speaker 8 (27:50):
Win for us Jonas.
Speaker 5 (27:52):
Hey, I'm just being honest. I'm just being honest. I
like Miles Garrett's game, and male Garrett has been very
effective for the Cleveland Browns, But Michael Parsons is a
generational talent that is comparable only to a few names
uh in the league with what he's been able to
(28:13):
accomplish since coming into the league. And that's not really
up for debate. And Miles Garrett isn't in that conversation.
He's not so pretty.
Speaker 9 (28:24):
Soon you're gonna be telling me Abdull Carter is better
than Miles Garrett.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
No, I haven't said that. He looked pretty good at
times last night, but not yet. He's got to get
the young Bucks sometime. He's on the funky team right now.
He's got to figure it out. You know, they got
to fow it out.
Speaker 9 (28:40):
Poor Miles Garrett. He's not better than Chop Robinson either.
Get out of here, Pete, Poor Miles Garrett. Arnold Ny
is better than.
Speaker 8 (28:59):
That's right.
Speaker 5 (29:00):
Go to John and Jason Away, go at Dafeo away
in Baltimore. We got we got quite a few in
the league, damn, but none better than Michael Parsons.
Speaker 6 (29:10):
Pete Prisco with us here on radio. If you can't
tell this is Pete Prisco. But Pete speaking of Michael
parsons former team, the Dallas Cowboys. I'm not really sure
what to make of yesterday because the Bears offense looked great,
but Dallas' defense is really bad.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
What is your takeaway from that game?
Speaker 9 (29:34):
They look better on offense, Caleb Williams looked much more
sure of himself, but I mean, really, I'm with you.
That defense is atrocious. And I joke around that they
play in concrete shoes in the secondary. I mean they're slow,
they have bust, Guys are wide open, they don't brush
the passer. And look, if Michael Parsons.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Was there, here we go.
Speaker 9 (29:54):
They know he's a great player, But I don't think
it really would have been that big a difference, to
be honest with you. Now they're no Bland is not there,
so that impacts the secondary. But Trayvon Diggs not very good.
Donovan Wilson, I mean, my gosh, in two years, he's
gone from a guy that was actually playing pretty good
safety to a guy who can't move and guys are
wide open, they're busted all over the place. And so
(30:16):
to answer your question, I think it's more reflection of
the Dallas defense than it is of Caleb Williams. He
was better. He was, you know, but again you're playing
on air. I mean it was a seven on seven game.
They didn't pressure him, the guys were wide open. You
know the touchdown he threw the Loveland there was nobody
there and he almost overthrew it. I mean, so he
(30:37):
was better, but it's more of a reflection of the
Cowboys defense.
Speaker 7 (30:41):
Pete, the Chiefs got to win last night, was sitting
now on one and two. I still feel like that
offense just it's not only coming along.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
I get it.
Speaker 8 (30:50):
I know they got some guys.
Speaker 7 (30:50):
Miss on the outside, but do you feel like this
is kind of the time now where maybe we're not
seeing Kansas City dominate quite as much as we have
in recent years.
Speaker 9 (30:59):
Yeah, it's easy to play win games when you play
defense with twelve guys. They had their eleven and Russell Wilson,
I mean, god, he was awful. He is so bad.
And and by the way, and by the way, the
four play sequence at the end of the game, what
(31:20):
oh stop?
Speaker 7 (31:21):
First off, hold on, hold on, hold on to the
jerk out?
Speaker 8 (31:24):
Who put that out there? Where do you want him
to go? In the first play? Where do you want
them to go?
Speaker 9 (31:28):
Like?
Speaker 8 (31:28):
Who was open on that first play? And then then
they run a quarterback draw, which.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
That's not his call.
Speaker 9 (31:33):
He got intentional brounding by throwing into the tunnel.
Speaker 8 (31:37):
Buddy, I'm just saying, like, where do you want to
put the ball?
Speaker 7 (31:40):
And then a fourth down play the goal that one,
I'll give you. The third and fourth down plays that'll
give you. But but the first down play, the quarterback
draw's wasn't.
Speaker 9 (31:52):
Their quarterback drawing there? I guarantee you that was some
kind of check he made it. The line of screamer
is just by judging by the Brian Gabel face look
here and the two interceptions. He stinks he's got to
sit down. They got to go to Jackson Dart. Get
him out of there. And by the way, why won't
he give Chris Jones his jersey in the jersey exchange?
What the hell is that all about? Anybody know? I mean,
my gosh, get him off the field, get on with
(32:15):
it and play Jackson Dart. He's terrible. You need to
sit down.
Speaker 8 (32:20):
Russell Wilson and Chris Jones can't swap jerseys.
Speaker 9 (32:23):
Didn't you see that? After the game they asked him.
He's been trying for years to get a jersey swap
by from Russell Wilson, and Russell Wilson won't give it
to him. And they asked him again and he goes,
I'm done asking him, And to be honest with you,
I don't want it anymore.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
Pete, what would you be willing to pay for Russell
wilson jersey?
Speaker 9 (32:41):
Let's see tuna on rye?
Speaker 2 (32:43):
Oh wow, I mean yeah, I'll give you.
Speaker 9 (32:46):
Maybe I'll throw in I'll throw in cheese on that sandwich.
Wrap it up nice.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Have you put a tomato on there?
Speaker 9 (32:52):
Yeah? Well, y'all put some tomato on there and freshing
up the sandwich. Nice back to the chief back in
the chief. There's Look, they played great defense and Russe
Wilson helped them. They'll get me wrong, but their offense
has major problems still they you know they And does
last night cover up the deficiencies in the offense. No,
(33:12):
they got he got pressured all night. The offensive line
didn't play well. Again, they don't run the ball consistently,
and they don't have many threats in the passing game.
So Brady, I'm still worried about their offense. Will they
when they get Worthy back, when they get Rice back,
does that change the offense? Absolutely, But that's going to
be you know, Worthy might be back this week, maybe
next week, and it's going to be a couple more
(33:33):
weeks for Rushie Rice until they get those guys back.
That offense is very limited.
Speaker 8 (33:38):
Can I tell you what they need?
Speaker 7 (33:38):
They didn't run the damn ball like they need to
have a consistent running game and we could team right now.
Speaker 8 (33:44):
But the charges in their division too shut out.
Speaker 9 (33:49):
But Jacko doesn't look like he did before the injury,
and Kareem Hunt looks like he's gaining twenty two yards
the games four. I mean, they who are they running
it with? They got maybe they got to play. But
the problem is he probably great enough fairs protection.
Speaker 8 (34:02):
Yet I'm just football.
Speaker 9 (34:06):
That team has no juice in the run game. None. Zero.
That's why I think Smith would give him the best option,
because he does have a little bit of juice. And
you see and he's starting to play a little bit
more and more. But Checko doesn't. Since he's come back
from injury and look like the same guy.
Speaker 5 (34:19):
Has he He doesn't have to look like the same
guy for them to be effective running the ball though.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
He's just got it. They gotta be.
Speaker 9 (34:30):
They could pitch the ball, They could pitch the ball
to you and let run run the ball. That's that
shait the running back. The running back matters.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
It does matter. You say, you acting like for Checko
can't do it. He can do it.
Speaker 9 (34:43):
He's just not the same guy. He's not been the
same guy. And and Kareem hunts them, you know, Caream
hunts one of those guys that turns two yard runs
into five yard runs and turns twenty yard runs into
five yard runs. That's who he is.
Speaker 5 (34:55):
I want to do an Oklahoma drill with youth, Pete,
That's what That's what I woul do.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
How about that? Pitch me the ball and do.
Speaker 9 (35:03):
Oklahoma, I'll root you out of the hole. I'll root you.
Speaker 5 (35:08):
Yeah, all right, I got got one good rep left
in me. Pete, just for you though, Pete, uh, Pete, yes, sir.
Speaker 6 (35:18):
Excellent as always, not shy to uh to share your
opinions on Russell Wills.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
It's a hater, a hater, Peter V.
Speaker 9 (35:29):
I'm a realist. And everybody else just you know, blow
smoke everybody up. Everybody's behind God, oh god, Arnold Key
is better than Miles Garrett.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
I didn't say that.
Speaker 8 (35:42):
Hey, Pete, by the way, by the way, Oregon, Penn State,
who you got this week? Win him that one?
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Oh you know who he's got. Go ahead, hater, Well.
Speaker 9 (35:49):
It's going to show up as a robotterers you're gonna
play quarterback.
Speaker 8 (35:52):
I gotta figure that he's been he's been bad this year. Man,
it's a verse bad time he's gotten.
Speaker 9 (35:57):
He's gotten worse, he's gotten worse.
Speaker 5 (36:00):
I'm not going to sit here allow for y'all to
do that, like take us the break, don't true.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Let's talk about Notre Dame. Let's not talk about let's
not talk.
Speaker 8 (36:09):
About gotta win. I don't know that.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
It seems we're gonna I could care less who you play,
y'all got one win State, Yes, and it's the white out. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (36:26):
Yeah, that sounds like another top top five to see.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
Us get him on access. I always appreciate it.
Speaker 8 (36:39):
We already last year.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
Yeah, eaked one out on Fox Sports Radio and.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
Then winning loss to another.
Speaker 8 (36:47):
I would take my quarterback right now over your quarterback
any day.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
That's fine.
Speaker 5 (36:51):
And I'll take my quarterback over your quarterback any day.
And we're undefeated, struggling rose colored glasses. You not, you
struggle to ease.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
Leave Drew Aller to me, Easy, guys, leave Drew Aller
to me. This isn't just a game, you know.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
See some of that?
Speaker 6 (38:03):
That was a great headit breeze left though, will be hot,
It gonna be spicy?
Speaker 2 (38:07):
Is it going to be hot and spicy? Yeah? Well
you know why it's going to be hot and spicy
because you.
Speaker 5 (38:12):
Got some Leasyona hot sauce, original Louisiana Hot sauce, some
perfect balance of peppers, vinegar and salt. Wings n chose
burgers hit any Tailgate food with the bold, hand crafted
flavor of the original Louisiana Hot Sauce.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
That's Louisiana Hot sauce by you some what you got.
Speaker 12 (38:31):
Speaking of Louisiana, Spencer Rattler made history and not for
like the best treats in ever. He's now the first
quarterback since Deshaun Kaiser back in twenty seventeen to lose
at least the first nine starts of his career.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
That is very sad. That is not spicy.
Speaker 12 (38:50):
That is depressing.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
Do you feel better now, Bree, You get that off
your chest?
Speaker 9 (38:54):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (38:55):
And being a diehard Saints fan you get an event
a little bit.
Speaker 12 (38:58):
I'm like heartbroken. This is like a sad time for me.
I like football is depressing right now. I actually started
Sam Darnold yesterday in my fantasy team, so like, I
at least I'll get some points while I'm like crying, right.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
Yeez, But hey, you'll be drafting a quarterback next year.
I'm I'm assuming so news Myra would be good.
Speaker 12 (39:19):
I'd rather have new Smire over Manning. Is that kind
of like jumping way ahead of you know, I don't.
Speaker 8 (39:24):
Think Manning's coming out with the way things have looked
so far this year.
Speaker 3 (39:28):
So is he is injured?
Speaker 2 (39:32):
Correct?
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Like arch Manning?
Speaker 7 (39:34):
I mean I don't only if they know that I
would say that some of that does look a little
bit mental, because there's some times where I mean, he'll
be in rhythm, he'll hit throws and then like the
next series or the next throw, who just airmail one.
It's quite bizarre, but it looked good versus Sam Houston
State this past week.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Yeah, it's a big win. When well, we'll be back
tomorrow the Tuesday edition on the show.
