that was a kind of a strange day in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
It was a better day in the NFL, right, I mean,
are you all going to be complainers or are you
going to be happy that it was a more competitive
Sunday in the NFL? It was too competitive? Okay, well
there we go. Too competitive? Is is too good for TV?

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Right?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Like too good to be true. Like a lot of
competitive games, not very many, what one or two games
I think that that where there was a double digit
ending to the game.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
And yeah, last last night was probably the most.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
You know, that was lopsided. Man. Yeah, it seems strange
to me that that seems it seems strange that they
would get some.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Many gass kickings out the gate.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
You know that that looked like Mike Tyson in this
heyday that like first fifty seconds was like all right,
this is done.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
All right, that's what's next.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
What's the next thing we gonna do tonight? It was
quick and then then it was excruciating all that once.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
I did appreciate Chris Collinsworth though, uh and Mike Trika.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
Trying to make it seem like there's a lot of
time left.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
It was like that even the fans are leaving, like
even even the Washington fans are done with this game.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
And it was such a plant, uh, just taking place
of celebration and festive feelings. You know, it was Halloween.
There was a big ceremony in dinner for I believe
for Art Monk. I believe they retired his jersey. So

(03:19):
it was it was a it was supposed to be
a pretty big, big day for the Washington Commanders.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
And then kicked off. It's it's not Easter, it's Halloween.
One of these one of these days, I'm really gonna
stop picking against Seattle, I swear to God, especially on
the road. I think this is ten straight road winds
for that.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Yeah, but you said that about the Colts.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Was this one of your Knox locks?

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Yeah, this this would have been a three and oh
week and it also would have been a three team parlay.
And then again, as Slavar pointed out, they kicked off
and it was over that would they weren't even close
to being competitive?

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Was Washington? It was again? And then then you give
your quarterback away like he's in there late and now
he's gone for for some time. Who knows how long
that that injuries for.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
So dan Quinn was talking afterwards about the decision to
keep Jade and Daniels in the game at the time
of his nasty looking dislocated elbow.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Is this the is this the sound of him selling him?
Though he kind of sold him of what he said,
like the reasoning on what what took place, Like he
he kind of like tried to remove himself from culpability
of the situation. Is this that is it? That got Yeah,
we got some stuff here post game.

Speaker 6 (04:44):
Yeah, not a space I mean obviously like the hindsight,
you don't want to think that way where you know
an injury could take place, you know, as you were
more conservative that spot to you know, run and hand
off and not have reads to go.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
But it's just the end result. May I mean a month.

Speaker 7 (05:00):
I'm asking this really respectfully.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
I want you to understand that.

Speaker 7 (05:04):
But Jade's been hurt three straight times in three straight games.
Does this organization have to take a different approach with
him with regard to keeping him on the field even
if a game is lost, or do you think there's
a chance, even if you think there's still a chance
to win, if it's not capable of giving him the
support he needs on the offense and the defensive side

(05:25):
for him to be at his best.

Speaker 6 (05:26):
Yeah, I think the answer to that is we will
give him the support to do that, and I am
certain of that, Dave to make sure that we do
that in every single way, and it's called offense defense,
you know, like the whole way through. Man, I absolutely
feel that way on you know, the hamstring injury and
tonight with an elbow.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
Yeah, it's really important we get that part right and
we will.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Do you guys think he was that wasn't it though?

Speaker 1 (05:51):
But do you think he should really get this much
heat for him being in the game at that point
because I could understand the lot's he hasn't played all
that much. They're trying to get some sort of rhythm.
I know they're getting their ass beat, but maybe he's
just trying to get hitting back into the flow of
a game. When something like that happens, and it's just

(06:12):
bad luck, bad break, bad dislocation, whatever you want to
call it. I just I don't know that you know
the idea that well, dan Quinn, you know, put him
in harm's way, Well you want to say that you
can put him in harm's way just by putting him
in the game at all.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
At this point it was in harm's way to first play.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
Can I say this though? I mean, how much of
this just has to do with what the skill set is?
Is Jayden Daniels like he's going he's slight a frame.
If there was a concern for him coming into the league,
it was will he be able to take the punishment
that comes with playing seventeen games in the NFL. And
then you add on the fact that that like a

(06:53):
hamstring injury is not anything other than the fact of like, well,
if he's gonna run or he's going to take off
and run it, that's always a possibility.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Like there's like, like, what do you want Dan Quinn
to do about that? There's nothing to do about that.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
We're in Cliff Kingsburg just to you know, not utilize
his skill set and keep him in the pocket as
a statue the whole time. I mean, the reality is
if you don't play to Jayden Daniel's strengths and allow
him to be a guy who can throw in run,
then you're not fully maximizing like what he can do.

(07:28):
And that's just that's football. Like there's gonna be injuries
that come along with it. There's gonna be awkward tackles.
It's one of the reasons why guys who stay in
the pocket typically end up staying healthier. But even that
there's still become there comes injuries with it. So I
just it's odd to me when you hear reporters sometimes
ask these questions because you're like, yeah, dude, sometimes these
things are unavoidable, Like there's nothing you can really do.

(07:50):
You can't wrap these guys in bubble wrap. And then
and to your point, John, it's like he hasn't played
that much. He's a young player in this league still,
and if you don't get him out there and get
those reps, then like you're never going to be able
to find that flow as an offense. So I just
I'm not exactly sure what you want Dan Quinn or
Cliff Kingsbury to deal.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Just just have him turn run handed off all game?
Is that what you want them to do?

Speaker 2 (08:13):
In that case, my first thought would be I would
be offended if I were a quarterback. And to listen
to the way we're talked about in the way we're referenced,
like a quarterback is not a fullback, not a halfback,
not a tailback. They're a quarter of a back, meaning

(08:34):
they are a back in the backfield. Like let's not
get too far away from the history of what the
sports says you are. You are a back. You are
a back. So if you're putting a guy in the
game to be a back in your backfield, chances are
they're going to get hit, Chances are they're going to

(08:58):
make contact with the other side of the ball like that.
That's because their back backs touch the ball, and this back,
in particular, this quarter of a back touches the ball
pretty much every single play unless it's a trick or
read deal. Then I'll come to my second point. The
second point is which it wasn't in the sound, but

(09:20):
dan Quinn says, the play that he gets hurt on
you run it fifty times and fifty times is probably
a handoff or a throw to the flat. So it
wasn't even for him to scramble. It wasn't a play
for him to put himself in harm's way. But for
the sake of conversation, it did happen. He did use

(09:42):
his discretion, he scrambled, and he gets hurt. So in reality,
it should just be he scrambled, he got hurt. That's
the bottom line. Here's what happens. It gets sensationalized because
one it's Washington is clearly easily of a simple target

(10:07):
to take these type of angles like this, Oh my gosh,
should you have like it's not this is not politics,
but the way our media covers things in Washington, d C.
It always has that like political feel to it. It
always has that spin to it that you would be
able to apply to a political story, a political way

(10:31):
of asking questions, a political way of painting the narrative
and painting the picture. That's that's what they do in DC.
So this should have like, I know, he's a big
time player for the team. Some would call him the
savior of the team after last year's everything going the
way that it did be in one game away from

(10:52):
the super Bowl. But let's not get carried away. The
bottom line is is that it was a play he
was playing as the starting quarterback, he was playing in
the game, and an injury took place during the course
of the game. Done. It doesn't have to be any
more than that.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
The way that the question was posed, it was almost
like they've still got RG three trauma, like and the
way that their young quarterback got injured like that, and
and different circumstances. But it was almost like, hey, you know,
we've been down this road before as an organization, shouldn't
we look out for our quarterback better?

Speaker 2 (11:25):
And it's like, well that coach wasn't down that road
with RG three.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
What I'm saying, but owner, but you mentioned that's how
this city Like, that's kind of how they framed things.
And I wonder if there's people that were watching that
last night going oh, here we go again, like this
is this is like what happened?

Speaker 2 (11:40):
They're not the Redskins anymore. So you can't say it's
the curse of the name. They look like him last night.
What does that mean? Their unis Oh yeah, okay, that's fair,
minus the minus the helmets there. I just I just
I don't you can you can use that as as
a reference point, like RG three had one of the

(12:02):
most amazing rookie seasons that you could have, and then
you know, he gets injured and he's never really the
same after that. You could you could say you have
trauma from it, but the reality of it is is
that one has absolutely nothing to do with the other.

(12:23):
The man dislocated his elbow because he fell on it
because he was scrambling. Again, as you heard Q say,
that's that's a major part of his skill set. And
he's not a big guy. He's not a Cam Newton.
He's not going to be able to just take hits
and fall around all the like all kinds of different

(12:43):
ways and not end up having some type of injury
take place. Just says what it is. But you got
to accept the facts with with what goes along with
this game. And when you're a running quarterback, you run
the risk of having the type of enjury he's that
Jaydon Daniels has has gotten. You run the risk of
having the injuries down Orgy three got when he was playing.

(13:06):
That's the reality of it. It's a running quarterback.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
It also just feels like a snake bit year for them,
like the Terry Terry McLaurin has not been able to stay.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Hell, a whole bunch of them went out.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Yeah, it's just everything that for he went out, everything
that went right for them last year.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
The cornerback, who's the cornerback that they got from the Saints.
Darryl Green?

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Oh god what?

Speaker 2 (13:29):
He was probably there though because of Art Monk. What
wasn't Darryl Green? It was what was his name? What's
his name? Come on, I'm blanking on him anyway, he's cornerback. Cornerback. Yeah,
I don't know, I should look it up. Huh. I'll
come back to you whatever. They're nothing. He out, he gone,

(13:50):
I mean, yeah, Latimore, there you go, he's out. I
mean I didn't mean to get excited to say, yeah, Latimore,
but because he's but it was Lattimore, Marshawn, Marshawn Latimore. Yeah. Meanwhile, man,
Seattle's defense is something they're That should be the top
that should that should have been the top story. I

(14:12):
mean in this story, that should have been the biggest
conversation is how good Seattle looked on the road in
a hostile environment.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
But that may be the team I was most wrong
about going into the season was Seattle because I just
I didn't see the I thought it was more of
a lateral move going Geno Smith to Sam Darnold. And
as it turns out, no, I was wrong. Like that,
that's a really good team Jackson Smith and jigbas A
stud Defensively, they're awesome, and that just feels like a

(14:44):
team that's going to be around and might end up
winning that division. And I think I had him picked
last in the division, which is just pathetic.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
I had him last. I think we all did. I
had Arizona winning the division. Really, yeah, we did.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
We all had them last night.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Uh geez they played tonight. Huh yeah, that's a snoozer. Damn,
that'd be fun I mean it'd be interesting. It'll be
interesting to see because I feel like there's a lot
of pressure on the Cowboys, Like if the Cowboys here.

Speaker 5 (15:18):
Is pressure on Kyler Murray considering Jacoby Brissett's gonna start right.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
I think there's so much pressure on on what the
Cowboys got going on that I think it makes it
an interesting watch. It makes it an interesting watch for tonight.
I mean, they got they need to win. They definitely
need to have a good showing against a team that
they should have a good showing against. So I think

(15:45):
that makes it a suit in. I mean, listen, the
quarterback situation, whatever the carousel is in Arizona, I would
not expect for Arizona to be able to beat the
Dallas Cowboys, which I feel like makes this, uh, makes
it an interesting watch. Dallas defenses there's terrible.

Speaker 5 (16:04):
I mean there's only one defense worse than that, and
I think we all know who that is. So thanks, correct.
You gotta be careful, yeah, because it really, when it
comes down to it, it just depends and spear depends

Safeties are back deep, but nja motions left.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
They're blitzing.

Speaker 10 (18:13):
It's picked up Caleb Prose middle of the field, lovel
catch breaks away, the thirty love, the twenty glove, the
ten clove, an end zone touchdown bears cost of Lovelin
on a throw by Kayleb Williams on the blitz with
seventeen seconds to go and the Bears reclaim the lead
forty seven forty two takes up fifty eight yard strike

(18:36):
to the Michigan rookie had a second touchdown today. He
outran the Bengals here in the jungle.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
The Bears have the lead again.

Speaker 1 (18:46):

I have no idea. What the hell the last two
minutes of that game was yesterday.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
That was wild.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
That was an all time just the game was drunk,
man like. The last two minutes was that. It was
just unbelievable. I mean, you could say bad defense, which
is what it really was.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
But I just.

Speaker 5 (19:23):
I look at the Bengals, and I know, like you
look at what Joe Flacco is doing, and I think
the Bengals are more of the story in this game.
And obviously it's a good win for Chicago to come back,
and you know, considering the circumstances, but it feels like
it was a collapse by Cincinnati.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
At least that's how it felt there at the end.

Speaker 5 (19:42):
I mean, two guys with a clear shot to take
out Lovelin and they can't do it. I also look
at though the last two weeks. I mean, how many
points have they given up? Now, seventy something in two
I mean, they're dead last and in almost every statistical
category defensively.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
And look, I know Alcoholon just got there.

Speaker 5 (20:04):
You know, Hendrickson has had his issues, and they probably
weren't high expectations for this defense anyway. But the thought
is that there's a chance you go get Flacco to
allow the season to still be intact.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
For Burrow when he's healthy. I don't care if.

Speaker 5 (20:19):
I mean, do you think Joe Burrow is gonna play
much better than Joe Flacco did yesterday?

Speaker 4 (20:23):
Flacco threw for four and seventy yards, Like, what do
you want him to do? I mean that was ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
By the way I Fla is doing is ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
By the way, I apologize that they've given up eighty
six points the last two games.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
My apology short of them there.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
Well, it's all right.

Speaker 5 (20:40):
We tend to exaggerate sometimes, but I just it's it's unbelievable, man.
I mean, this is not a this is not a
team that's gonna do anything, whether Burrow's there or not,
with the way the offense is playing, but obviously the
inability for the defense to do anything anything, and you
feel like it's starting to actually fracture of the locker

(21:01):
room a bit.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
I feel like it was a game that the Bears
should have had locked up like close, but no cigar
and all would have been kind of normal. I think
it's the way the you know, the way everything unfolded

(21:25):
in those last few few minutes of the game that
kind of put that pressure or put that spotlight on
the Bengals. I really look I look at it that way,
because if you think about it, they have the game
pretty much wrapped up. They hit the on side, they're
able to get it. They're able to get what was

(21:47):
it two touchdowns in fifteen seconds or something like that.
So everything is a feel good story from that moment
till the next moment, right, and then you have an
improbable moment take place. For the Chicago Bears, it went
in their direction they were able to get get the win.

(22:11):
I think it just creates a bigger conversation because again,
there were a few defenses out there that if their
defense was better, how good would their team be? Like,
if they're just a better defensive unit, how good can
this team be? And that's one of the games where

(22:32):
you're how does that? How does that happen? How does
the guy get loose down the center of the field
and get into the end zone When now, granted, you know,
Caleb had a nice little run that you could see.
It put them in position to get into field gold range,
and maybe that stressed the defense out. Maybe they wanted

(22:53):
to be a little bit more aggressive because they did
give Caleb a little bit too much time in a
little bit too much space to be able to run.
And so maybe one more run and not maybe one
more run like he made early on, they're in field
goal range, and and that's you know, the situation is
a situation, and and so I don't know, I I

(23:16):
get the idea of being aggressive, sending the house to
pressure him. You saw it work in other games. You
saw work against Patrick Mahomes. You saw the pressure get
to some of the quarterbacks. This weekend just on that
play didn't get to Caleb Williams, and you got to
give him a little bit of props therefore for completing
the past.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
So uh, Brady mentioned that, you know, it could be, uh,
the locker room might might be a little sketchy at
this point. Jamar Chase afterwards was heard yelling, you know,
get an effing stop walking into the locker room. When
he would talk to reporters afterwards, he you know, basically said, listen,
I'm not going to say anything. I don't want defense

(23:55):
defensive players coming up to me to tell me what
I need to be doing, et cetera, et cetera. Chase Brown,
on the other hand, he took a different approach.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
We just got to play complimentary football, like we put
the ball in the end zone and go up a
point at the end, finish the game like just ended
like that's it, Like that's that's like, that's what we
need to do. Just end the game, like make them,
make them get us the ball back, let us go
to twenty two victory, and let's end the game.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
That's how that's like, that's how I feel.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
So, uh, how's that going to land? If you're a
defensive player or was that a game where hey, we
got nothing to say. Just think that the respect factor
is there.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
You you gotta you gotta take it for at face value,
like you got to finish the game. The fact that
you guys were able to have a successful on side
kick and then have an on or have a offensive
series where it leads to you guys taking the lead.
At that point in the game, your defense has to
close out the game. I don't think anyone should be

(24:55):
offended by him saying that. In fact, you should be
happy that he bothered buying an upset about it. I mean,
I was watching social media catches out partying and stuff
like that. I won't say no, no, no teams or
anything like that, but like you got social media joints
popping up of people out having a good time and

(25:16):
they just lost. They just lost, Like right, it doesn't matter.
I'd rather see a guy be upset. I'd rather see
a guy be upset about them losing and have a
strong declaration of okay, like let's finish games. That's captain obvious.
So if you're if you're in the locker room and
you're a defensive guy and you're upset, you just want

(25:38):
to be upset, to be upset because you can't go
running after him and being like, don't be talking about us,
don't now y'all gave up, gave up a late touchdown
that costed us the game. I mean, that's just what
it is. Finish the game.

Speaker 5 (25:51):
Yeah, yeah, man, Look, there's gonna be frustration when seasons
are falling by the wayside, and that's really where the
Bengals are going. And in the past two weeks, I
think they feel like they've done enough offensively to get
the job done. I mean, we talked about how much
they've scored. It's hard to score sometimes over twenty in

(26:12):
this league, let alone over thirty, over forty, and they've
done it in back to back weeks and unfortunately been
in shootouts. But I think the worst part is it's
like they're shootouts versus the Jets, which.

Speaker 4 (26:24):
You know, that's a problem, all right, that's a frustrating.

Speaker 5 (26:27):
Look, they're a team that's going to have their moments,
but I guess their first moment had to come against
the Bengals defense. And then you look at this past
week and again the Bears have had their moments. But
I keep going back to that final play. It's not scheme.
They brought three linemen and they brought up a guy
off the edge, like you're playing coverage and you can't
get a tackle with either one of your safeties who

(26:49):
are right there to make a play on it. I'm
that's just more of a lack of execution. And so
that's the frustrating part is you know, I don't know
who you point to. I Mean, the only thing in
this game that kind of flew into the radar because
of those final two minutes was the challenge by the
Bengals that ended up actually giving the Bears a touchdown.
That was one of the funnier moments of like I

(27:10):
don't think I've ever seen that where you had a
team that was I guess what, trying to make it
a touchback instead it in up backfiring on them completely
and turned around being a touchdown for the Bears like that.
And look you look at the end, like end of
the game, look at the difference, like all right, probably
would have liked to have that challenge back.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
And then you look at their schedule after the buy
and the Jets and the Bears were games they had
to have and should have had, and then you look
at their schedule after the buy and you're at Pittsburgh.
You've got the Patriots, the Ravens, the Bills, the Ravens.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Again, it's over, dude. That's bad. It's that's a tough road.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Like if I'm Joe, if I'm Joe Burrow, I'm like,
you know what, he's coming back.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
I'm coming back. Hey, you guys have it. We're good.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
And honestly, even when Trey Hendrickson's been in there and
he's been banged up, I don't. Jay Glaser was making
the point on Fox yesterday where he said that the
Bengals are at least open minded to trading Trey Hendrickson.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
Now, I mean, why not. It's not doing anything. But
you know what I mean again, the conversations have been.
I mean, even when when Miles Garrett's name popped up
as a potential guy that you could possibly see them
a team trying to deal with that ginormous contract. It's like, man,
if you're getting all of this production from a generational talent,

(28:32):
that man had how many sacks and five sacks in
the game. Yeah, and they still lost. But it begs
the question. And I think we asked asked the question
on this show. I mean, when you look at what
the decision was for Micah Parsons and how that ended

(28:52):
up playing out, I mean, do you really need to
feel like you are forced to pay the high wages
to any position other than somebody who is impacting the
scoreboard like a quarterback or a receiver in today's game?
And I think that that now has to that now

(29:14):
has to become a conversation. What is how much of
a premium do you place on the guys that can
get to the quarterback? Because it's not leading it. There's
no correlation to winning Having that type of production from
a defensive player. Unfortunate because I'm a defender and I'm
always want to see defenders be compensated. But the reality

(29:37):
of it here is Jerry Jones created a different lane
of thought as it applies to do you do the
blockbuster deal with a defender? And what does that look like?
Because it doesn't necessarily lead to you winning games directly,
at least that it hasn't this year with some of

(29:59):
the guys we're talking to.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Yeah, but don't you think you'd feel a little bit
better about Dallas if they had Michael Parsons, like you
feel a little bit better about I mean, their offense
has been really good.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
Dak's been really good. It just defense, play making ability.
The playmaking ability is there, right if he's on that
Dallas team, there's he's going to make a difference. The
playmaking ability is on a higher level. But can I
definitively say that their record is different than what it

(30:31):
is right now? I can't definitively say that. I can't
do that. I mean, if a guy gets five sacks
in a game and they still lose the game, can
I honestly say, Okay, if if Miles Garrett isn't in
the game, you get five, you got five less sacks.
But do they are they going to have a better

(30:52):
chance of winning the game? Like it's kind of like
I don't No, No, they're not going to have a
better chance of winning a game. But it didn't win
them the game with the production, So how am I
supposed to look at it? Five sacks was not good
enough of a performance to win the game. And that's
what people are going to lean on, Like okay, like

(31:14):
he could get as many sacks as he wants and
it still doesn't mean it's going to equate like, if
a quarterback gets five touchdown passes in the game, that's
going to be that's going to be a W. Right,
I mean, chances are if a quarterback throws five touchdown passes,
it's going to be a W. Five interceptions is going

(31:34):
to be an ale direct correlation. I mean, is that fair? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (31:39):
I mean yeah, I mean, look, the defense could cost
some of those.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
So that's where you're kind.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
Of saying, right, okay, all right there, Okay.

Speaker 5 (31:46):
I'm trying to find a list of and it's taken
me a minute, so my apologies, but I'm trying to
find a list of the Caps spending for defense versus offense,
just because obviously on offense you're spending your money largely
on your quarterback, wide receivers line versus defense. To see
where those teams rank right now in the NFL. So

(32:07):
it may I may kneed into the break to figure
this out.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
I know the Steelers have the highest GI.

Speaker 5 (32:15):
Yeah, they've They've spent a ton and they have got
the results they're looking for, all though a good win
win yesterday.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
So yeah, yeah, it's and the thing about Joe the way, Yeah,
the thing about Joe Flacco two is that he had
to get a shot in his shoulder right before the game,
and you could tell that that shot wore off right
at the hail Mary at the end, like you tell,
like that's so now we know how long those shots

(32:43):
The nectar from the gods LeVar talk is about how
long they last because it was right up until the
hail Mary, which he had nothing left in it. So
to do all that with a bump shoulder and to
see it spoiled because your defense can't get a stop
or tackle is kind of what I mean.

Speaker 5 (33:00):
I've got the list. Honestly looking at it, it's kind
of a mixed bag. Like the number one team in
defensive spending under the cap of the Giants, which they've struggled.
They've got a rookie quarterback, so you can you can
spend obviously on your defense when you've got, you know,
a rookie quarterback on that deal. Indies number two. It's
like at Pittsburgh at number three, Minnesota number four, Green

(33:22):
Bay five, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, the Chargers in Tampa
top ten, so you know, obviously Tampa's had a great
season this year. Denver, the Cardiac kids. They've been They've
been pretty good. Indie has been great, Like it's a
mixed bag. Pittsburgh's leading. THEYFC North Minnesota with a nice
win yesterday, So it depends on.

Speaker 4 (33:40):
How you look at it.

Speaker 5 (33:41):
But like San France dead last by the way, spending
on their defense, Phillies thirty first, Oh wow, the Rams
are thirtieth, Baltimore, Miami, Dallas, New Orleans, Buffalo, Detroit.

Speaker 4 (33:56):
So you do have some.

Speaker 5 (33:57):
Heavy hitters on the opposite side of this who obviously
have spent much more on their offense, and they seem
to be, you know, doing pretty good too.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
So miss that is it miss leading based upon rookie
rookie production like young first contract production on like a
team like Philadelphia, I mean no, because.

Speaker 5 (34:15):
You have hurts On under a longer term deal. You
have a J Brown under a longer term deal, DeVante.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
Smith as well. They paid have an offensive line too.
That's got what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
A lot of money spent on the defensive side of
the ball.

Speaker 5 (34:26):
Maybe maybe a bit maybe a bit for them right
because they've they've kind of moved on from some of
the older veteran players. But the same thing with the Rams.
The Rams have a young defense right on first time.
San Fran moved on from some so that's largely gonna
dictate this. But you know, Buffalo's got you know, they're
twenty fifth and outside of Allen, they've kind of got,

(34:47):
you know, youth on both sides. But they've they've paid
some defensive guys.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
They're pretty good. They're better than what I thought. Yeah,
they showed to be. And now if they could consistently
be the team we saw on television last night, that's
that's the best team in the National Football League. Problem
with them to me is I don't feel like they're
consistent enough. They'll they'll let a game get away where

(35:13):
it's like it's a Hayte scratcher, like how did they
lose that game? Like I want to believe in the Bills,
but then they have a game where it's like, man like,
that's not I don't know.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
He's Here's what's kind of crazy.

Speaker 5 (35:25):
If you took out Trey Hendrickson and his moneys that
are paid out for the Bengals, he's by far and
away the highest paid defensive player. The next closest guy's
BJ Hill at eight point six million. Trey Hendricks's got
a twenty five point one cap hit this year. If
you take out what he's getting paid, they go from
twelfth highest in defensive spending all the way down to

(35:47):
below the Saints and they'd be a at I guess
twenty seventh to that cad mean, oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
It's and again we've got to be careful.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
You got a trade Lightley, because that fan base gets
a little bit, a little sensitive, they get a little spot.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
I'm not saying anything after yesterday, like someone could try to,
you know, come at me.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
I know what the Bengals fan are. They called the
jungle for a reason.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Man, Well that's wild. While in the jungle, you might
want to take a little hot sauce, which you know
what I mean, point man, Yeah, I mean because you
might have to, you know, put something over the fire,
you know, and you might want to put a little
spice on it. And well, the original Louisiana hot sauce
that's the perfect balance of Pepper's vinegar salt for any

(36:29):
of that jungle food that you may find yourself coming
up on or tailgate food to that matter. And you
know what, it has that bold, handcrafted flavor of the
original Louisiana Hot sauce, So make sure you get you
some of that Louisiana Hot all right, make sure you
have by you soo damn right.

And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
the one and only Justin Cooper.

Coo, what up, guys, you're lying? Not today?

Speaker 3 (37:55):
Thank you?

Speaker 2 (37:56):
Hey? Okay, all right, so you're telling the truth? Yes, exactly?

Speaker 11 (38:01):
Did you guys see that Jerry Jones had to kind
of do some damage control?

Speaker 2 (38:06):
Uh?

Speaker 11 (38:07):
Last week he had an interview with The Wall Street
Journal and he kind of suggested that he was prioritizing
investing in the natural gas industry over fixing the team's defense.
He said, he said, he said, there's one hundred billion
dollars present value with gas out there. That's why I'm
talking to you on the telephone rather than trying to
fix our defense with the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (38:32):
Well, I mean, let's just let's just look at how
the olets works.

Speaker 5 (38:35):
You know, he makes more money in natural gas, he's
got a little more cash to spend. He is able
to fix the defense at some point. So it all
makes sense. It all works hand in hand.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
And then you got a drill. But you got a
drill for natural gas too, right, it's the same same
type of concepts as drilling for.

Speaker 4 (38:52):
Yeah, but you can't.

Speaker 5 (38:53):
You cannot capture natural gas like the hot air that
Jonas puts out every week.

Speaker 4 (38:57):
You can't. Yeah, that's not a it's not as this model.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Man, Man, why do I gotta get hey?

Speaker 4 (39:02):
How do you fill with that?

Speaker 2 (39:03):
Why do I get to get labeled with that? Sor?
We need Lee back so he can be the fault? Oh,
here we go? Why do you? Damn?

Speaker 4 (39:12):
Yeah, Coop?

Speaker 2 (39:13):
I got Coop? Coop? God, God, I don't want to
get this dude, Man, don't you are a low wasn't
that bru? That's that you are a low? Shotting Coop?
Glad to be here. It wasn't a shot at Coop
shot up? Then, huh No, that's not a shot at
me either. That's I mean, it's clear who it's a

(39:34):
shot one who had gas issues on this show? Was Lee?
All right? That's it? That's yeah, that's the point. God,
that's true.

Speaker 11 (39:41):
Okay, we got Coop. Get us out of here and
moving on to something something kind of cool. I saw
Lindsey Vaughan is apparently making an Olympic comeback at forty
one years old.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
He's going to participate. I hear something way different. I
felt like I was want to hear only fans or
something like that. I don't know. My mind immediately went
to that described your big fan call oh cool.

Speaker 4 (40:09):
I'm just saying, hey, your hands out of your pockets.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
So they immediately went off of the table, immediately let
the papers. That's a different look for you. That's true,
that is true.

Speaker 11 (40:22):
Uh, you know, but I mean we've some of us
have seen previews of all that.

Speaker 1 (40:28):
You're right, you're right.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Just said, you know, that does look a little different
from the usual boardop. No, no offense, mark mark, mark, mark,
You're good, look at too, mark that way today.

Speaker 4 (40:50):
You guys are nasty in there.

Speaker 2 (40:52):
It is what it is. Stake a quick wow
