(01:15):
Aaron Rodgers situation is this, they don't know whether or
not he's going to be able to play this weekend
against the team he's part owner of the Bears. He's
got a fracture in his left wrist. Mike Tomlin calls
it a functional thing, you know, it's it's about seeing
how functional he can be with it. But there's going

(01:36):
to be no surgery. They're probably going to try and
brace it up and we will see. They should know
sometime later this week whether or not he's going to
give it, give it a go this Sunday.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
But here this week, I mean it is Wednesday, you know,
like if you don't generally, if you don't know by today,
like by today's end, you gotta I mean, you got
to make sure you're preparing the person that's going to play,
you know, I would assume that they got to figure
out what that assumption is most likely, like today Thursday,

(02:11):
you super late, You're super late.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
If he's a late scratch, you know.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
If you if you come to the conclusion on Friday,
that hell, if you come to the conclusion on Sunday
that he isn't going to play, You had better have
been preparing whoever the backup is going to be to
play the game.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Well yeah, I mean they probably do know, but they're
not gonna publicly state anything. They're going to try and
keep the Bears guessing, which you know.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
I mean, the Bears all of a sudden are a
team that you have to be concerned about. That's crazy,
you don't think so.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
A lot of Uh look, I mean what happened to me?

Speaker 6 (02:59):
I just this is your reverse psychology.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
It's not reverse psychology. It is if you watch the
games like a lot of these results should have gone
the other way. I mean, give them credit. The old
Bears teams would have figured out way to lose these games.
But they're figuring out ways to win uh close games
somehow someway, and they're sitting atop the division. But I
can't imagine what the schedule coming up. This is going

(03:23):
to continue on.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Nonetheless, even with your reasoning, it does seem to be
a team that you should be concerned with. I mean,
just as what it is, Jonas, So take it and
enjoy it while you have it.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
You know, he knows how long it'll last.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Well, we talked about this that if you were going
to try and buy him some time and rest him
with this injury, this would be the game that would
make the most.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
Sense because all of a sudden.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Well, no, because it's it's an NFC opponent, it's not
going to factor into AFC seating or standings or tiebreakers.
Why not just save them for a week and get
back the following week and then you've had a division
game after that, you know, in two weeks like that
seems like it would make more sense as opposed to
rush him out there and God forbid, something further happens

(04:10):
and then you're gonna have to go with Mason Rudolph
in a couple of AFC games which could be factoring
big to the playoff seating.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
And they got a rough stretch after I mean, you
could consider the Beers a rough stretch now considering how
they're playing, and they got the Bills, and they have
the Ravens. The Dolphins have been feisty, they have been fighting.
They don't have the easiest of schedule, you know, in
terms of the rest of the way, But I could

(04:39):
see where you would say, Okay, we got the Bills,
and then we definitely have a tilt with the Ravens
and that could be a very very you know, obviously
a lot riding on that game. So but you know,
I don't know. He has owned the Bears. He has
been largely in part adorable quarterback. I think there's so

(05:03):
much riding on this for him. If he can go,
he's going to go, don't. I don't see him being
rested just because of the risk. I think we'll know
if he can do it or if he can't do it, it'll.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
Most likely probably be reported on more so today.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
If not, then again, you know, they better be preparing
who's going to you know, play in his place, and
then concentrate on making sure they get him healthy for
that that those next two games.

Speaker 6 (05:34):
Yeah, it's interesting.

Speaker 7 (05:36):
I would consider in Rogers durable too, right, all the
stuff he's played through.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
There have been no seasons though, I mean the.

Speaker 7 (05:41):
Jets obviously the torn achilles. You know, he missed some
times back in like twenty seventeen. He missed a big
chunk of that season. There's a season before that. Yeah,
there's been spots where likes he's missed a good chunk
of time for some injuries. I don't think this is that.

(06:02):
But look, this one will come down to a few things.
Every single player when they have an injury that doesn't
need immediate surgery, like there might be something he's needed
down the road, but in this case, if it's just
about the healing process of the bones, you know, there's
a couple of things. It's pain tolerance and you know,

(06:22):
can you make it worse? Like are you willing to
play with an injury that could potentially get worse depending
on what you do to it? And you've got to
make that decision of.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
You know, how do you want to handle the pain?

Speaker 5 (06:36):
All right?

Speaker 7 (06:37):
As LeVar has pointed out, there is a nectar of
the gods, is there not?

Speaker 6 (06:40):
LeVar?

Speaker 7 (06:42):
So there's ways of getting yourself out of that pain,
but maybe it's not great for your body. And the
other thing is like, are you okay with the potential
chance of making something worse and not knowing what the
long term impacts going to be on your health and wellness?

(07:02):
You know, that's those are things that like I think
most players in the moment, they usually sign up for it.
Shoot me up, let me go play. I'll deal with
the consequences later. But you know, being someone after the fact,
you kind of go all right, you know, maybe he's
old enough now too, at forty two years old, you know,
years of age where he understands, you know what this

(07:25):
means long term for him, based on how his body
feels now from all the where and tear it's taken
in the early parts of his career, some of those
other years I mentioned, So all those things are taken
into consideration. But I do think if you're Pittsburgh, it's
really about you win the division, So forget conference games
and all that.

Speaker 6 (07:43):
Just win your division, man.

Speaker 7 (07:45):
And that's I would think the amount of time they'd
want him to stay out to be able to heal
a little bit.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
How often did they test for weed during the regular
season in.

Speaker 7 (07:55):
The NFL, Well, they don't nless you're in the program.
So typically for street drugs or something like weed, there's
two tests. There's a window in the spring, and there
was a window around training camp and once you have
your annual test, which by the way, the threshold for
that has been increased to the point where it'd be

(08:20):
really you know, it might be tough for some guys
even to test positive. But I digress. You take that
test at some point. And by the way, if you
don't get it in the spring, you know what's coming
in training camp. So for guys who are habitual smokers
like that, when they get popped, it's the dumbest thing
in the world because they're essentially saying, well, they know

(08:42):
what's coming, and like, I can't sacrifice for three weeks
not doing it to get through my test, so then
I can the rest of the season. Like I always
would look at players who got popped for that and
thought to myself, I don't know if I can throw
them the ball. I don't know if I can trust them,
because if they can't make this a decision that's going
to impact another eleven months of their life, Like I

(09:04):
don't it just they're not a very smart player. But
that's roughly the the protocol for the testing on it.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
So here's why I ask Aaron Rodgers is a guy
who likes alternative methods to dealing with pain. Okay, well,
I mean he's the same guy. He doesn't he doesn't
use air pod pro or the the AirPods because he
doesn't like he feels like the five G or whatever
you know, is bad for your brain.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
It HiT's the bluetooth. That's nothing to do with five G.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Well like the air pods he likes, the ones with it.

Speaker 6 (09:39):
Does nothing to do with five G.

Speaker 7 (09:41):
It has to deal with the bluetooth technology and the
the radio frequencies, all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Whatever it is, he's got beliefs. I'm wondering if he
looks at it and goes, if he looks at it
and goes, you know what, I don't want to take
the tour at all. You know, I'm not interested in
the next of the Gods.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
I'm going to be hypocritical, Okay, hypocritical because he has
used he has used you know, forms of you know stuff.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
But he's learned. Maybe he does learn, and maybe he
doesn't want to deal with the aftermath. And so I'm
just wondering, is there enough.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Only after aftermath from the Nectar of the Gods? Is
you you could use another one when you come down
off of it like that?

Speaker 3 (10:33):
This is why I ask you, guys are pod heads,
So how would you smoke? Recommend?

Speaker 5 (10:39):
Never? Never?

Speaker 4 (10:40):
I never popped. I never popped when I smoked like before.
I know, I mean, it's it's always been my business.
But if you know me, you know I'm a rosta man,
I don't, you know, but I never how I conduct myself,
how I handle things. You know, it's certainly I don't.

(11:03):
I don't have to have it. So what I will
say that like if it's in the if you got
something that's an addiction, then then you got to pay
attention to it. But if you have something that is
a part, is no different than if I were to
sit down and smoke a cigar, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
So well, I guess what I'm trying to ask, and
I'll ask it in the way that Brady would ask it.
And the words of Brady Quinn. Oh god, how much
hippie lettuce would you put on that salad? If you
were Aaron Rodgers getting ready for this game.

Speaker 6 (11:31):
I would never use such a dorky phrase.

Speaker 5 (11:33):
Like that, hippie hippie lettuce.

Speaker 7 (11:36):
Yeah, I mean you used to call it the green wolf, remember,
like that was actually fun.

Speaker 5 (11:41):
That sounds pretty good.

Speaker 6 (11:43):
Hit way better, Yeah, hit way better.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
It's corny, that's the old old school term.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
Yeah, So maybe it's not. Maybe it's not the Nectar
of the Gods. You know, he's gonna.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
It's not going to be the same one thing I
will tell you is it's not the same. Then the
Nectar of the Gods is from the gods for a reason.
You're not going to supplement that with something else. Believe
you me. If he plays, there's a very very strong
possibility that Nectar of the Gods played a part in

(12:18):
why he's going to play this weekend. That just is
what it is, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
So would you play if you were the Steelers looking
at the schedule, would you play? Because the Ravens have
the Jets, so that's a win for Baltimore, so it's
going to get real close, and then after the Bears,
you've got Buffalo, you've got Baltimore. It feels like the
one in a couple of weeks is really going to

(12:46):
factor in big to what the division looks like. But
if you are the Steelers, would you put him out
there risking injury? Knowing listen, this could turn into a
bigger issue and we've got bigger games coming up after
this one that would be more.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
If he can play, he should play.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
If it's if he's in like, if he's in some
type of condition where like Q said, he can make
it worse, then you don't play them. But if he
can play, then if it's not as serious as as
it may seem to be, then you ask him if

(13:24):
he can go. Like you, you know, he's he's a
super vet, so he's been around long enough where the
respect factor of asking him.

Speaker 5 (13:33):
How does he feel can he go?

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Being based off of what his pain tolerance level would
be would be the bigger question here. So if but
if he can go and he's willing to go, which
I would believe he's poised to go. Start defiicient finish,
go coast to coast on this season. They just got
a big win against a divisional opponent, and and that

(13:59):
was off the heels of a disappointing showing against the.

Speaker 5 (14:04):
Chargers.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
So I would say he's again he's so close to
putting himself in a position to have legitimized why he
has continued to play. It didn't play out that way
in New York. I think that made it even more
of a deal. And I think he's aware of that.

(14:27):
So I think he's in it to win it. I
don't think he sits out if he can play. That
just furthers the storyline of what we'll say about him
when he's done playing the game that he pushed through,
you know, times like these, even as an old hit.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
Yeah, but do you think that's really going to be
a storyline after it's done, Like, hey man, he sat
up there.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
When you're gifted as as Aaron Rodgers is everything that
happens in certain parts of your career are going to
be highlighted. So you might as well just keep putting
on you know, putting good things on your resume as
you go, Like, yeah, of course they'll talk about that.
He'll be one of the most talked about quarterbacks once
he's done playing, hitting up to his candidacy into the

(15:10):
Hall of Fame.

Speaker 5 (15:11):
Yeah, of course you do. Why not.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
That's what a legacy is, your memories, you know, the
things you left behind. He pushed through, he persevered, you know,
he made it work in Pittsburgh. It's just supposed to
be a one year experiment coming off of a very
disappointing showing in New York. So he can right a
lot of wrongs by doing you know, little things like

(15:34):
going out there with a jacked up wrist and playing
and playing well, you know that's what I would assume.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Well, we'll see what happens, but we'll keep you posting
if the Steelers dropping you why.

Speaker 5 (15:47):
You're so dismissive because they playing the Beers?

Speaker 3 (15:49):
Yeah, I just I think you want him to.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
Miss the game. They have more of a chance to win.
Is that what it is now? With the underlying reason.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
For all of this?

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Because I'll be honest, man, like, I.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
Mean, you didn't attack the man.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
You made it seem like I haven't attacked anything.

Speaker 5 (16:03):
You didn't made him seem like he's a weed hit?
Like what what were you? What you got going on?

Speaker 3 (16:08):
I was featured in his Netflix documentary. You were so like,
there's no attacking going on here, all right? And you
would know that as a Netflix star yourself, like you
would know that, you know this is how this stuff works.
I mean even Dean Blandino was watching Selling Sunset.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
You know, Q is that not ten dollars?

Speaker 3 (16:26):
Ten dollars?

Speaker 7 (16:27):
You can't find him for everything he says. I mean,
the guy is, you know, try to do a radio show.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
I am caning my heir to the passive aggressive if
of what he does that was ten dollars. But I mean,
like you said, you could call it. You could call
a penalty every place so exactly.

Speaker 6 (16:44):
So I'm gonna let this one. I'm gonna let this slide.

Speaker 7 (16:47):
He's in a bit of a you know, frisky mood today.

Speaker 5 (16:52):
That was dollars player whatever. By the way, you got
a good judge today, bruh.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
By the way, they I.

Speaker 6 (16:59):
Just don't to hear him bitch anymore about the fine system.

Speaker 7 (17:02):
I mean, that's how cheap Jonas is that he can't
pay a thirty five dollars fine that literally just goes
to a dinner wor all having together.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
That's crazy, bro.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
I'd rather just do it with the goodness of my heart,
like I don't need to be fined.

Speaker 6 (17:14):
Well you won't do that because you're too damn cheap.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
Well no, but because here's here's the think.

Speaker 7 (17:18):
About it, by the way, think about it this way,
all right, not to kick a guy when he's down,
but the dinner will be exponentially cheaper because Lee's not
there drinking.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
Oh geez, I'm just.

Speaker 5 (17:28):
Saying Lee, don't though, though.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
No lock that door.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
Yeah yeah, lock that yeah.

Speaker 6 (17:42):
Yeah, there is that. I hate to be the one
to point it.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
Out and be the a hole, but you could put
me on the drink tab. Yeah, you never go I
never get invited, but I'm a great plus one.

Speaker 6 (17:56):
Yeah, but you don't go out to Super Bowl? Do you?

Speaker 3 (17:58):
I could never go. I mean it's in the Bay Area,
it's a quick trip. Yeah, I'll be there in two seconds.

Speaker 5 (18:04):
I mean some shows take the.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Are you gonna save our Yeah?

Speaker 5 (18:09):
Sam gets to go nothing.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
You know when Rich gets to take their board up.

Speaker 8 (18:14):
I'm I say, I get to be taken too.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
What are you gonna save?

Speaker 9 (18:17):
Bar?

Speaker 3 (18:23):
And this is two pro coop your thoughts on the
discussion being had right now? Your thoughts?

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Uh, I think that you probably deserved that ten dollars.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Question.

Speaker 5 (18:36):
Oh sorry, great answer though, great answer.

(21:16):
it a little over fifteen minutes from now. But now
we turn our attention to somebody who was all the rave,
all the rave in the world of football. I mean,
and it was fun. But things have not gone well
this year for Deon Sanders, coach Prime and Colorado, and

(21:36):
so he spoke with the media yesterday and assured the
Colorado fan base that he was still the guy for
the job.

Speaker 6 (21:44):
Coach, You've hit on all the unique forms of adversity
that have happened.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
This year, whether it be your health, for using the
ad leaving, they're all happening at once.

Speaker 6 (21:54):
What kind of challenging is that for you?

Speaker 12 (21:57):
I've been God's spread them out a little bit. They
hit me once.

Speaker 8 (22:02):
Now I think God, you know he allowed this this
like so so I'm please understand. If anybody is built
for adversity, I am, if anybody has built the change
I am is, if anybody's built to overcome situations and
trial and tribulations, I am.

Speaker 12 (22:25):
You got the right man. I promise you you do.
And I'm going to prove that to you.

Speaker 5 (22:31):
I am.

Speaker 12 (22:31):
Just give me an opportunity and give me a little
more time, and I'm going to prove that to you.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
I will.

Speaker 12 (22:36):
I promise you that.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
Thanks Coving.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
So that was Dion Sanders yesterday talking with the media.

Speaker 6 (22:42):
Sounds a lot different than we first took over there.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
No, he's bringing Louis.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
I mean, I'm just it was a lot different conversation.

Speaker 7 (22:53):
And you know, the tough thing for Colorado is this
season reflects closer to what his first season was like
at Colorado, where whatever, it got off to a hot
start and then it really fizzled and fell by the
wayside in particularly when they got the conference play and
I think they ended up four to eight that season.

(23:14):
I'm not even so sure they'll get to four wins.
They've got to play Arizona State still as an outside
shot for the Big twelve Kansas State at Kansas State,
that's a tough place to go play and a tough team.
I just I look at it and go, they're probably
gonna be a three and nine football team. They're not
gonna go to a bowl game, and they're gonna win

(23:35):
one conference game. And so you'd have to look at
where they're at in year three now and say, you know,
last year was a high watermark for them. They won
nine games. You know, Shador and Travis and a lot
of the players, they had their talented players now playing
in the NFL, but they haven't been able to reload,

(23:56):
they haven't been able to develop.

Speaker 6 (23:57):
It's been a lot.

Speaker 7 (23:58):
Of transfer portal you know, players, and I think at
some point they've got to set a foundation. It felt
like initially they needed to turn over the roster to
kind of find a way of competing.

Speaker 6 (24:11):
And now like year three, you're you're.

Speaker 7 (24:13):
Kind of thinking to yourself, Okay, they should be at
a more competitive, better spot. And I understand again, the
quarterback position took a dramatic decline. You know, Cayden Solder
came in to start the season, that hasn't really worked out.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
Now.

Speaker 6 (24:31):
Juju Lewis's kiss coming. He looked good.

Speaker 7 (24:33):
I mean, he's gonna be the quarterback of the future.
But there's still a lot of gaps in the line play.
You know, at times they have a tough time stop
in the run. There's just all these things that you
see that are the same from the first year he
got there to this year. And he doesn't have an
AD that hired him anymore. Rick George is stepping down,

(24:53):
and so you're gonna have a new AD that has
no ties to him that's gonna have to make a
decision at some point of this thing doesn't turn around
what he wants to do. And that's it's a tough
spot to be in because you're talking about a Hall
of Famer, one of the greatest ever do it, a legend,
a guy who's very charismatic and has brought a lot
of buzz to Colorado. But I will say this, the

(25:15):
buzz feels like it's kind of died off, you know.
I think this year, especially when you know they got
off to a slow start. They got beat by Georgia Tech,
they beat Delaware, they lose to Houston, and then you
kind of start, you know, going through the season and
you're like, all right, you know, this team just isn't
very good. They're not as much fun to watch as
it was the past couple of seasons. So you just

(25:37):
kind of wonder where this thing's headed at Colorado.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
I mean, he did that deliver a heisman last year.
I mean he you know he I mean he got
to retired jerseys up in the raptors, you know, of
the good Point, or around the arena, around around the state.

Speaker 7 (25:52):
And there's people who take an issue with with what
Travis Hunter did to get the heisman playing so much
that that might have tell the detriment to him getting
injured this year.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
Yeah, listen, that's a reach for me. All I'll say
is is that he he has he has tried his
best and and I believe he has put his best
foot forward as.

Speaker 5 (26:21):
As a coach.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
I think he's continuing to learn, you know, in terms
of what it what he believes it will take to
win at Colorado, at at that level of competition, and
much like anyone else. And I mean we had this
conversation yesterday about pro coaches, I mean looking at Pete

(26:43):
Carroll and what he's dealing with and in Vegas and
what pre prior coaches were dealing with. And then we
even had the conversation about how we saw things change,
you know, post Gerard Mayo era in New England by
bringing in a coach. I mean, sometimes things change. You

(27:03):
can change things quicker. Mike Vrabel has been able to
change that very quickly with a lot of new players
that he had in mind. He seemed to have an
amazing plan in play that he executed and now people
can see what it was and see the results of it.
But sometimes it doesn't all the way, you know, flush

(27:25):
out that way you know, it does take more time
to be able to figure out how to win.

Speaker 5 (27:32):
I mean, if you keep in mind.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
The relevance of Colorado football was at zero, it might
have been in the negatives when when Dion Sanders took
over the program, And not to say that he shouldn't
be further along based upon how bad they were, But
I'm not saying that he shouldn't, you know, I'm not
saying they shouldn't still be trying to figure it out
after this amount of time with a program that had

(27:56):
became so irrelevant and just not not a day that's
the national place.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
So can I offer this up?

Speaker 5 (28:02):
Though?

Speaker 3 (28:03):
If you look at what happened to Travis Hunter this
year in the NFL, if you look at what's happened
with Shadoor Sanders, is it fair to say that Dion
Sanders ruined their careers today?

Speaker 6 (28:15):
That's probably a step too far.

Speaker 5 (28:17):
What what what makes you say that? Well?

Speaker 3 (28:19):
I mean, look, you're a product of where you come from.
And if they both came from Colorado and one guy
basically crippled the Jaguars franchise with as much draft capital
as they gave up, and the other guy comes into
a game and looks like he's throwing with the wrong hand.
I mean, like that's on Dion Sanders.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
I would say, that'll be ten dollars just.

Speaker 5 (28:43):
I mean, is that ten dollars for what? Wow?

Speaker 3 (28:48):
Is that? Is that not a fair conversation to have.

Speaker 4 (28:52):
I'll say what you can do about what you're doing
right now? Because you're throwing out some some really really
like interesting stuff. Bruh, Like that's just super interesting. U.
Why don't you throw some Louisiana hot sauce.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
On his watch point.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
While you're at it, you know, check out some Louisiana
hot and you know it's crazy. My script disappeared, but
I don't need it because I know.

Speaker 5 (29:19):
About Louisiana Hot sauce.

Speaker 4 (29:21):
And why would I take us into the red where
as my screen is going away?

Speaker 5 (29:26):
I don't know, but we're still We're here. Now.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
You got a great balance of peppery peppers. I do
know that. I know you got vinegar and salt, and
you can put it on your wings, nachos and your burgers.

Speaker 5 (29:38):
You got that right.

Speaker 4 (29:39):
You can hit any tailgate with it, So make sure
it's Louisiana hot. That's original Louisiana Hot sauce.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
And make sure you got.

Speaker 6 (29:46):
Yourself, buy you some Jonas.

Speaker 5 (29:50):
What is wrong with you?

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Dude?

Speaker 3 (29:51):
What do I mean?

Speaker 6 (29:52):
Look, Levart's your point.

Speaker 7 (29:54):
It felt like the first couple of years bringing Shador
Brian Travis coming from Jackson State, it was a band aid.
But I think that's the part of the issue. Like
I was listening to something that fran Brown said yesterday.
He was talking to a podcast and he was saying,
like his philosophy, and this is what he says the recruits.

Speaker 6 (30:13):
He says, give me three years. Give me three years.
You come to Syracuse.

Speaker 7 (30:18):
Give me three years, you'll have your degree, you'll have
saved money, and at that point, if it's not working
out here, you can.

Speaker 6 (30:28):
Go somewhere else.

Speaker 7 (30:29):
But you're gonna have your degree, you're gonna have that base,
that foundation, you're gonna save some money, and then you
can go try and have two years left of eligibility
somewhere else, or if you're good enough, obviously you can
go on to the NFL. But it's really fascinating he's
pitching that come here for three years, and I'm almost
kind of like a one and done. But it's a
really interesting philosophy and conversation to hear, because when you

(30:53):
think about some of the issues that you know teams
have and coaches are having, is it's hard to build
on a roster because you don't have enough continuity if
he's pitching this, like, hey, let's let's make sure as
a young man, we check these boxes, we get our degree,
we try to develop. We're gonna pay you obviously as
a part of you know how this all works in NIL,

(31:14):
but we're gonna make sure that we take care of
that money too. You're not blowing it, spending and all stuff,
because very similar to when you get drafted in the NFL,
this is just the initial payment. Like if you're doing
that well and you want to go play somewhere else
and you get a big payday, go go do it,
Go sign that free agent contract somewhere else. And it's

(31:34):
it's an interesting philosophy because I actually think it more
closely resembles what happens from players from college in the
NFL when they get drafted or sign as an undrafted
free agent and then looking for that next contract, the
next opportunity, and really, you know, it more closely mimics that.
And so the only reason I bring that up is
because it appears to be a very clear picture as

(31:58):
to what like Syracuse is trying to do, these other
teams are trying to do, you know, not everywhere you can.

Speaker 6 (32:05):
Graduate in three years. It took me three and a half.

Speaker 7 (32:08):
That's going to summer school every single summer is you know,
session of every single you know semester. BI also wasn't
able to you know, enroll early. That wasn't really allowed
back then in Notre Dame. Now it's more of a thing,
so maybe they can get it done a Notre Dame.
But my general point is like I don't know that
I feel that way about what Colorado has. It feels
like every year they're trying to be a big player

(32:28):
in the transfer portal, you know, and like that philosophy
never works in the NFL. Like how many teams we
talk about in the offseason when free agency opens, they're
big spenders. When we go, oh, yeah, they're gonna be
great this year, it usually doesn't work out that way.
It's usually the teams that they have their base from
players they've drafted, they've developed, and they sprinkle sprinkle them

(32:50):
in the free agency, you know what I'm saying. And
I feel like that still applies to college football as well.
And yet this team, it doesn't feel like they have
that foundational peace.

Speaker 6 (33:02):
So I hope, I hope they get more time.

Speaker 5 (33:05):
Maybe it's juju.

Speaker 6 (33:07):
Well, the juju is definitely that.

Speaker 7 (33:09):
I mean, he's but but again, their defense still stop
the run, they still protect them. There's there's a lot
of things that are still kind of lacking in that regard.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
By the way, uh, Colorado would have a lot of
balls to to move on from him after what he's
done for the program like that would that take a
lot of balls to Levar's point earlier, where they were
at and look, we know the wins aren't there this year,
but the notoriety, the buzz, the that place went from

(33:38):
desolate to rock concerts and rap shows before games with
everybody want it.

Speaker 6 (33:45):
That was that was you know what year one.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
Yeah, there were still buzz there last year though, like
there was still.

Speaker 7 (33:52):
Because they were good, Like let's let's not get it twisted.
They were good.

Speaker 6 (33:57):
Like like one of.

Speaker 7 (33:58):
The things that I would say is like they need
to find a big mounted donor that can do what
Cody Campbell has done for Texas Tech. Texas Tech has
been an eight win team Whinner Joey maguire, Why are
we talking about him now? Because they're number five in
the College Football Playoff. They have a roster and a
team that looks like a team that can compete for
a national championship.

Speaker 6 (34:16):
That's what we're talking about.

Speaker 7 (34:17):
Like, I personally, I don't care about all the flare
all right, when I walk into your TGI Fridays or
name your restaurant, like, I want to see the substance,
like how good is the food?

Speaker 6 (34:27):
Like what do we got?

Speaker 7 (34:29):
And that's the thing is, like we you need to
get Colorado back to a team that's gonna win consistently.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
But he deserves have players to do it. Man, he
deserves a little bit more time to I mean.

Speaker 7 (34:40):
I'm not disagreeing with that. I'm just saying, like, let's
not get it twisted. We can talk about the attention
that came with it, right the first couple of years.
This year there hasn't been as much, and it's because
people kind of looked at it and go, well, you know,
now they're not winning quite as much, So like.

Speaker 6 (34:58):
Are we always still gonna watch if it's not a
great product?

Speaker 7 (35:01):
Off to this before like the Savannah bananas to me,
are an experience. People go to the Savannah Bananas and
they have a great time at those games.

Speaker 6 (35:10):
You watch it on TV, it.

Speaker 7 (35:12):
Translates more as bad baseball, just guys dancing everywhere. Like
it's like, it's not the major league baseball level. It's
not when we witness and got the watch in the
playoffs or the World Series. So it's tough to watch
if you're a sports fan. And that's all I'm saying
is like, does he need more time off?

Speaker 5 (35:28):
For sure?

Speaker 4 (35:29):
Think of his own brand too to bring that relevance,
and that's dangerous. It could be a it could be
a bonus, and it was a bonus because it was
in a time where they really needed that boost. But
you know, that's that's a dangerous move to build it
like almost solely based off of your brand.

Speaker 3 (35:49):
I think it's more likely for health reasons he would
no longer coach there. I think that's more.

Speaker 6 (35:55):
That's that's probably accurate.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
That's actually that he's man, he's gone through a lot
like that's.

Speaker 4 (36:00):
Yeah, he really has. So there's no faking that. By
the way, No, no can act like, oh, well sons
aren't there anymore. He doesn't want to goes like, nah, dude,
like take a look at his leg man, Like, dude
is the dude is going through some serious stuff.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
Like he's missing body parts internally and externally.

Speaker 5 (36:20):
Yeah, and he's still and still coach it.

Speaker 6 (36:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:24):

and then there's some downright ugly things.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
It's time for good, bad and.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
Ugly all right? Justin Cooper, who's got what this week?
All right? Brady? This week we're starting off with you
with the good.

Speaker 7 (37:38):
Oh yeah, you know it was good last night, Maxin.
That's right, baby, Although Ohio University did not cover that
rather large spread versus UMass, who is making their way
towards a completely defeated winless season. The Bobcats won forty
fourteen last night. But how about Akron and Boiling Green?

Speaker 6 (38:00):
All right? Yeah you did? You know why?

Speaker 7 (38:02):
Because you want to see Ben Finley and Drew Pine
score off two six year quarterbacks. Seven schools between the
two of them. Finley started his career at NC State,
then went to cal Now Akron. Drew Pine was remembered
for his time at Notre Dame, made his way to Miszoo,

(38:23):
Arizona State now bowying Green, Akron got the best of
them Eddie George's Boy, and Green was laying I think
two and a half and Akron pulled out the three
point victory. So a lot of good maction last night.
That's what was good in the world of sports.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
Jonas what you got for the bad? The bad is
looking ahead to this Sunday, and ladies and gentlemen, I
present to you the Browns and the Raiders from Las Vegas,
a combined four and sixteen record between both awful teams
and bad franchises. So for anybody that's got a ticket
or anybody that's out in Vegas, why don't you just

(38:59):
skip that whole thing altogether, stay in Mandalay Bay and
gamble your ass off because it's better than what you're
gonna watch this Sunday. Well, that leaves LeVar with the ugly.

Speaker 9 (39:09):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (39:10):
I'm feeling like I want to go with Stephen Aid
not being on the NBA show. I don't know, I
haven't seen the details of it all yet, but I
just feel like, if he's not on the ESPN NBA show,
will they still show him walking into the arena?

Speaker 5 (39:27):
And for that I feel like that's ugly.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
Man. That's a great point.

Speaker 4 (39:31):
Yeah, I'll miss that.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
I didn't even know he's not he's not on really.

Speaker 4 (39:36):
Yeah, it's like a new look NBA show and he's not.
He's noticeably absent.

Speaker 5 (39:40):
And he's out he's not there. Yeah, he's out there.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
You go not watching that one either?

Speaker 5 (39:46):
Oh wow, Well there you go.
