And a good morning man. I'm offering solutions. That's not
a good solution.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
So how you doing, Matt?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
What's up man?
Speaker 1 (01:43):
How you feeling rejuvenated?
Speaker 3 (01:46):
H Well, I got about two hours of sleep because
we're calling NFL games. So you know, here's the thing
that's weird about Var. When I this time, Var comes
in like the Spanish inquisition what I'm just It is
interesting because I usually tell him exactly what I'm doing.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
I just said, how are you doing? Are you really?
Speaker 3 (02:03):
He does get a little puffy bottom two about if
I work on the weekends for NFL side he gets
little puffy bottom of what you get, you get a
little jealous about it. It's all right, it's all right,
hold on, hold, come back, you gonna tell me.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
I'm not jealous of anything.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
I looked in the Meredith Mornings like, God, dang, you
a cold mother.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
I'm talking about me. Hey, look, I was, I was
being serious. I was like, you're good. I mean, I
know where you were at. I was just checking on you.
How you do it?
Speaker 3 (02:43):
I gotta stop at Southwest, I gotta stop.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
That is very true. If you are so.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Many direct options, though, Man, they just they do a
good job getting from point A to point B.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
I can't do it. The one time I did it,
two people at one person out of the two has
to be gone. They're gone. They checked out. Oh yeah, David,
for sure that lady dies. She's out here. I don't
think she's still here. But the dude, I mean, at
that point, he tried to check out too on the flight.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
At that point, can't you just open, you know, one
of the doors and just let him out whatever. It's
like emptying the toilet on a tour bus.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
I could be perceived to be horribly wrong, though, depending
on you know, well anyway, I'm gonna leave that one
whatever some historical type connections to that, and you might
not want to do that.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Damn.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
Anyways, there's some football that was played this weekend. I'll
tell you that it was.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
How about LeVar and as Baltimore Ravens to the super Bowl?
Pick koy, that's that his age one, not even to
the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
That team stinks.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
How about Nick Saban though, say what you want, give
them the money, y'all, get the hell out of the way,
give them that Formulia, Hey, y'all go on, build yohn
new facility, whatever it is.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
You know, don't act like Clatt wasn't getting a lot
out of a clap back for what he said.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
So anybody who went with the little team and listen,
I was one that wanted to see them be competitive
and do well so that the conversation could could actually
still be a conversation. I think after this weekend, that's
a rap. That's a rap. You can never you can
(04:22):
never go back as a committee. You can't possibly look
at a team and be like, yeah, they're deserving of
getting in, and I don't care about their record. They
could go undefeated. I don't care. I don't want to
see it that that felt. I felt bad for JMU.
I felt bad for them. They didn't even make it
(04:44):
the halftime, and I was like, throw the tail town,
throw the god dang tawn.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Covered though, you know, man, look here, bro kept it
within the number. What was that one hundred? I was
like seventeen and a half. I think, er, there's what
I thought.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
One yeah something? That half was the BASI they did cover.
It did seem like Oregon took their foot off the
gas in the second half.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
They definitely did. Yeah, they definitely did.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
Here's the tough part about this, and this is where
I think and I don't know if you guys talked
about what Joel Klatt said or not his we did
not comment about, you know, the Cinderella and all that
stuff and march madness.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
It really resonated with a lot of people. I don't
which football.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Well, I think you can you can appreciate march madness
for what it is and the fact that you do
have the opportunity for on an off day, for even
one of the best teams in men's college basketball women's
college basketball, you can have a lesser team have a
hot shooting night and they can knock off the other
(05:50):
team in a one game, sudden death scenario where if
we're really being honest with ourselves, the March Madness format
is probably the worst format for the terming a national
championship for that reason, Like you don't get home court advantage.
You get like regional advantage, meaning like oh, we were
playing close to where our school is, but there's no
(06:10):
home court advantage. And on top of that, like you're
kind of you know, thrust it into playing against again
a team that made it probably a decent team, especially
shooting the basketball. But there are those, you know, scenarios
where we've seen a sixteen, you know, see knockoff a
number one seed happen the UVA, and I just I
look at that format, I go, Okay, how likely is
(06:31):
that to happen in football?
Speaker 1 (06:34):
It's not likely, not very.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
And the difference is is because it's it's not so
much a game of skill, even though it is, it's
just a completely different set of circumstances. So like, as
much as we do enjoy the David and Goliath and
the David winning and men's basketball, or March Madness and
women's basketball for that matter, it's just such an apples
to oranges comparison, and I think like the thing that
(06:59):
I think will lose track of is the bigger you
make a bracket, a playoff like this, a sudden death playoff,
the more it takes away from what you accomplished in
the regular season. And if you look at the history
of college football, it's always been about the regular season,
and then there was an exhibition game or a bowl
(07:20):
game that was played, and you kind of had the
ap to term the national champion. Then you had the
bcs DE term who should play off for a national champion?
And then we ventured into this expanded playoff from four
teams to twelve now. And so the problem is, you know,
you can have a team that has a really good season,
Indiana undefeated, number one, thirteen to zero, won their conference.
(07:40):
They could lose in the quarterfinal and they're again they're
not getting home field advantage. So like all those things
kind of go out the window in that one game circumstance.
And now again different circumstances. We're now in the round.
There's eight teams left, and they're much better opponents. We
don't have the group of six teams anymore. But a
(08:01):
tournamented format for any for any like champion of a
league is tough when able to play all similar schedules,
you know, play against you know, a similar like format
of how the scheduling should be, like all that stuff.
And I think that's more of a conversation that regard.
But yeah, it wasn't. It wasn't pretty though in a
(08:23):
lot a lot of the same results we thought was
gonna have with Oregon Insuline and or excuse me, Orgon
and uh and Old Miss and beating James Madison Sulaine.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
When you look at college tournaments, I think I think
you have to take into consideration the fact that it's
very different in the sense of in college, a guy
at least has three years in like, you have guys
that have been in school that are playing that have
(08:53):
been there at least three years unless they're a true
sophomore or a true freshman that are playing. And a
lot of times you're not going to have a very
heavy freshman or sophomore, you know, team with starters.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
It's just not you're gonna have a few.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
With college basketball, those blue bloods they're bringing in one
and done's. You don't have continuity, you don't have real familiarity.
It's basically travel all star teams that you're putting together
and you're hoping that you can go through a season
and win a championship before they go to the pros.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
And so, to me, when you.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
Look at Cinderella stories, you're looking at guys that are
like five, six year, eight year, nine year, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen,
fourteen year veterans that are playing. I'm at exaggerating, but
you do. Some of these teams that you see do
well in the tournament, they're teams that have been together
for years. They have built continuity, they are grown ass men.
(09:58):
You know, some of these guys have family and they're
in college. So when I look at the two, I
don't I don't really truly feel compelled to compare to
the two. I think a Cinderella story in college football
would truly in the truest sense of the word, be
a cinderella story because it is not structured for the
(10:22):
resources that you need in order for a football team
to be what it needs to be to compete against
the upper echellence. It's not the same for basketball.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Isn't the Cinderella story in college football? Indiana?
Speaker 1 (10:37):
Not this year it was not this year.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Well, no, I'm saying, like where they were historically and
where they're now, like it's it's a like a like
they've built the program. It's still hard to get your
mind around the fact that they're going to the Cinderella
is like a one off.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
You know, win a game, win a game, win a game.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
They're undefeated in the Big Ten and they beat Oregon
in Oregon and a beatle house State in the Big
Ten Championship. You can't call that Cinderella. You gotta call
that new Bully on the block, like it's a different category.
But what I'm saying is is that they're still on
that level. They're in the Big Ten. I would say
(11:15):
any team that can come from where they're at in
the Big Ten, a team in the SEC can come
from where they're at in the SEC and become a
dominant team because they're able to recruit, or they're able
to you know, get a really really good coach put
all of it together. You're talking about the resources that
have to go into a team being what it ends
(11:36):
up being built into. That doesn't happen by accident. That's
why you see the same teams win every single year.
It's the same teams that are in it. But when
you look at basketball, you can actually level the playing
field with different there's different elements and you don't need
the type you need resources, But you don't need the
(11:58):
same type of resources in basketball that you do in football.
And I think that that's what you're dealing with. A
lot more people, You're dealing with a lot more coaches,
a lot more players. There's a ton of moving parts
that are connected to having a successful operation as a
football team. It's just not really I don't feel like
(12:18):
it's structured. Football is not structured for a Cinderella story,
and I feel like that played out very, very clearly
in those games that were played this weekend.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
I mean, jonas to your point, and then because I
do want to hear what you're gonna say, but Indiana
I felt like kind of was last year and now
it feels like they've solidified themselves more in this position.
But also I don't know, maybe you still consider them
that because they haven't won a playoff game, right they
made it last year they looked like one of the
best teams got blown out by Notre Name, and this
(12:53):
year now they get a by the number one overall seed.
They could get beat by Bama like I would. I
betting advice Quinn's winsday. Right now, baby, take the points
in Bama.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
I gotta I gotta go look back at my I
gotta see how I was feeling when I did my bracket,
because I might have picked that a little bit.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
No, I did not.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
I ain't pick them because I think the extra week
of preparation. I think coaching wise, that they got an
extra week arrest, They got an extra week of preparation.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
But you guys.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Were waiting for me to give them, to tell you
what I picked my braget challenge. You're gonna have to
wait a little while. Oh yeah, I'll let you wait
for the goods on that little.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Are we going to talk about it? We're talking about it.
I mean you know, at some point.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Someone call you the Cinderell story.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
How did we do? How did we do this week?
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Oh? I have an admission? Uh uh, Patty reached out Thursday.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
We know you didn't put yours in.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
I know, well it was tough because I told him,
I said we'd run a wait till Friday til you
guys picked. So I know what the lions are, and
then I never heard from him again, and I completely
forgot it.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Sounds like yeah, but Patrick was saying before the show
that that means you're just qualified for the year, like
if you miss one.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Way wait wait wait wait wait stop out, just like
that's what I thought.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
We came to an understanding that if you miss a week,
you're just qualified for the year.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
I mean that's what Patrick said. I don't know. I can't.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
I did not say it seems fair, but I don't
want to, you know, I don't want to try and
stir the pot or anything.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
That's the last thing I want to do.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
You never stir pots, refused to I'm not going to
do it.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
Well, the one thing he wants to stir, he doesn't
get an opportunity too. Damn join join the club. Sounds
you got a gun, get down then there there.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
He's the only thing I do know is I think
had a pretty damn good week now looking at the
rundown though, yeah, really stop because he took all money money.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Somebody let me down?
Speaker 4 (15:04):
Denver, Yeah, yeah, freaking Denver. How you go to how
do you go to Mao High in the cold and win?
Are they that good or did Denver does have a letdown?
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Io Jacksonville and apology, I pete PRIs. I just when
you saw them melt down against Houston and I just thought,
here we go, same old Houston.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Didn't want to be the Raiders that joint.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
Don't sound so corny, no more no, And you might
want to change.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
The way you say it.
Speaker 5 (15:42):
Now.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
You know how last week Denver's win, last week.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Denver's win, Now.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
You know how I feel you Yeah, yeah to my world,
go okay, trying to make your point to get.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
God Denver last week against green Bay?
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Denver last week against.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Green Bay was their first moment in which you said,
all right, they're they're for real like that. That was
the most impressive one of the season. Yesterday in Denver
for Jacksonville was the moment I said, all right, I concede.
That's a good team. Like that's a really good team.
Trevor Lawrence is probably playing the best he's played in
his entire career. Defensively, they're way better than I think
(16:33):
a lot of people realize, and nobody's done that really
does it put more pressure on Jacksonville for the playoffs though,
Like that's sure.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
I don't know about pressure. Now, I would just say,
like I look at what they are in year one.
I think they're well ahead of schedule. I also think
people need to apologize to Trevor Lawrence. I mean, I'm
not saying he's having like the greatest season, but he's
turned it off in the final weeks and he's gotten
(17:04):
a lot more comfortable in Liam Cohen's system, trusting Liam Cohen,
and I think that's what you're saying, Like, there's two
examples of quarterbacks who there are some questions about, and
they've they've really continued to grow, mature and gel with
their their play call on their head coach. And that's
Trevor Lawrence and Liam Cohen. And that's Killer Williams and
(17:27):
Ben Johnson. Like both those teams. Both those stories to me,
as much as we can compliment the defense and we
can compliment some other things too, it has everything to
do with the fact that they have two of the
most talented quarterbacks that people had questions about. Some people
we were in writing off. I was when I was
back in October. Oh, I wrote, I didn't write him
(17:47):
all the way off, but I was. I was pulling
the check out of the checkbook but I was signed.
I signed my name on the right off of Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
I name across Man.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
He's proved that plenty of people wrong. He he's been
playing much better, in particular the last few weeks. So
to me, it was more of like all right, like
this is a team that I feel like they get
the playoffs, like maybe you can make a little bit
of a run.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
M Yeah, but guys like Lamar Jackson then Baker Mayfield,
they gotta change their sheets right now.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
They waking up this morning. They gotta change them sheets man. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
Yeah, the sheets just had a young young person's accident.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Dream was too too vivid.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
You know, they thought they was they were walking into
the restroom in real life, but they were still dreaming.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
I'm not sure Lamar Jackson really really cares about that.
He seemed okay last night.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
Yeah, I mean, you have a back injury.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Yeah, just you know, had to back on the side
and just kind of hanging out. Don't worry better, let
me let me help everybody out here. He will for
sure miss Wednesday's practice with either the back issue or
the flu, because he's it for a month and a
half straight.
Speaker 4 (19:01):
So that's that's gonna happen. Well, they're done, so he
might as well. I mean, is that I'm with you?
Is that a conversation? Is it a conversation? Is Harball's
job a conversation? Or do you say, you know what,
he's hardball and you go from there like, what what.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
Do you gets another year? But why? I mean, I
bet you I could.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
I could put it in pretty damn good as that
I could.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
I could be pretty certain that if this happened in Pittsburgh,
this was it for Mike Tomlin, he was out of there.
If he and their seasons were kind of parallel, his
season Pittsburgh season could have went the same exact direction
that the Ravens did, and they actually have found the
way to figure it out. And I feel like that's
on coaching. You gotta urge, you gotta find your guys,
(19:50):
you gotta get them pushing, you gotta get them moving.
And whether it's up for debate or not, it doesn't matter.
He's the head coach. He has to take the responsibility
of what fine.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
But what you can debate is the res of these
and and even Baltimore has been better in the playoffs
than Pittsburgh has of late. I mean, and you want
to really compare, you know, as far as their their
schedules and all that or or whatever. I mean, Harrorball's
won a super Bowl. More recently, Horrorball, similar to Mike Tomlin,
has had what two losing seasons.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
It was they was ready to fire Nick Sirianni after
he won a super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
Yeah that's Philly.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Yeah, well, I mean Psychopaths Baltimore and those are the
same places. The fan bases are very very similar in nature.
They're very similar. I don't think they're that similar. Oh,
they're very close, very close.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
I think they've got an East Coast edge to them.
They're very unique.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
There their mills, they're they're there.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
And by the way they might went out and stick,
it's still finished.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
People. They're not Okay, they're not.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
I mean, I just watched the Arizona Carlos team that
I think you had in the playoffs, one of the
NFC West this year, so you know what they're They
are not that bad. I've never seen a team ravaged
with injury the way they were. That was like unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Yesterday they jumped out, had a nice little lead, was
like okay a z okay, z what like, that's my team?
Speaker 1 (21:21):
What what what happened?
Speaker 3 (21:27):
But in all seriousness, like their top receiver Marvin Harrison Junior,
he had appendicitis at one point, then he had a
a heel injury. You know, their top rookie defensive line.
And there's the sixteenth overall pick Walter Nolan he injury.
You know, Budda Baker went out at one point checked
(21:48):
for a concussion, came back Like I just that team
is ravaged with injuries. It is crazy how I mean
there was guys dropping left and right. I mean, it's
just it's tough.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Yeah, they better get their ass to home depot. I'll
tell you that because.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
Makita Tools at the home depot or built precision without
short crass design for the toughest jobs. It's a choice
for pros, and the job calls for the best call
Mikida bill to be the best available at the home depot.
How pros get more done. So we are going to
have the usuals coming up later on. We do have
another edition of in case you missed it, We've got
our fsr IRN hour two of the program. Pete Prisco
will stop by in our three and we've got the leftovers.
(22:29):
All of it is yours here on this three hour
extravaganz on a football recap Monday.
Speaker 3 (22:33):

for the chance to win an I Fit Trener contract

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Coming up next here on the show, Boots in the ground,
Boots and in the booth and the boot.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
We'll get into that for you right here on FS.
We're going to get into that.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
You know what else, We're going to get into a
hotly debated topic in the Hot Sauce world. Who is
this year's MVP. And I'm not talking most Valuable Player? No,
I'm talking pores. That's right, most valuable poor. I know
who mine is? My most valuable poor is the original
(23:22):
Louisiana Hot Sauce.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
You got it it is. Here's why it's my MVP.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
This sauce has shown me what it's really made of,
and that's three hard hitting ingredients. Pepper's, vinegar and salt.
It's the perfect balance of heat flavor. And now that's
MVP material if you ask me, and well, what makes
the most Valuable Poor different from any old poor.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
Well, it's in the name, the value of it.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
Other hot sauces well, their second string. But the original
Louisiana Hot Sauce. On game day, it'll dress any of
your favorite eats with e He's drizzled on Nacho's burgers,
pizza and gumbo.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
You got that right. That taste is gonna score.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
Finally, just take a look at its record for almost
one hundred years.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
His flavor is undefeated.
Speaker 4 (24:16):
A tasty Louisiana legacy like that deserves the most Valuable
Poor title. That's why it's the original Louisiana Hot Sauce.

Play of the day.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
That's it an.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
Arizona's Native Sun the scores against the Cardinals.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
There's some excite about the mom and DApp and we's
too happy with the the big ten and the play.
Prior's just a simple swing screen. These guys are gonna
create traffic.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Bijon is gonna find space. Let me find space. Usually
finds the end zone there.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
It is Fox on the call, so I'm talking about
it sounds familiar.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
It does sound familiar, but it's like kind of like you.
It's like kind of like a poor man's version of queue.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Who was calling? The guy's very ship up man? Who
was that? Who was that?
Speaker 2 (26:35):
It's our guy, Brandon tu oh great went on the call.
I'll take it back then the tire Iraq play of
the day. For over forty years, tire Rack's been helping
customers find the right tires for how, what and where
they drive. Shipped fast and freedback by free Road, has
a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation,
tire raq dot com. The way tire buying should be.
(26:57):
I mean, I'm just glad you didn't get overtime. That's
That's what I was going about, because you know it
happened earlier this year. Throws everything off over time. As
a broadcaster, probably a real pain in the ass when
you're trying to get places and catch flights.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
So that was good.
Speaker 4 (27:13):
It would have been more entertaining than those boxing matches
that took place this weekend. Talk about losing your clout.
You're all over the place today, talk about losing your clout. Man,
I'm just saying. I mean, I'm actually dialed in. I
just didn't hear Q say anything. So I just figured
i'd go to where I was I was thinking about
(27:36):
and what was on my mind, and the fact that dude,
take me talking so hardcore to everybody so much. You know,
you look like mister Burns. You look like mister Burns
out there. And then the ring a little bit.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
They both kept falling on their knees and stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
I don't know. But anyways, I found it to be
truly not entertaining at all. But but the Arizona game
and that that game against the Atlanta Falcons was an
interesting game.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
You mentioned something in the uh in the group tax
yesterday that you felt like maybe the officials h boned
the Detroit Lions in that spoter.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
Uh, you're all over the place. You went to an
entirely different game. Oh well, let's let's talk about it.
I felt like in that game, that whole exchange was
kind of strange, Like the the sequence of the amount
of penalties that were called on that last drive. They
(28:42):
actually created the drama of the game and how it ended.
Like but I mean, the way they played was good
enough for it to to create the drama of how
it was going to end, But the referees added a
whole lot more of of well, I do hot sauceries.
They put a whole lot of hot sauce on it,
a whole lot of a whole lot of calls. Yes,
(29:03):
they were in in in the rule book. Sure you
could call them. Are those penalties some of them? Are
they called as much as frequent as you would think?
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Maybe not.
Speaker 4 (29:15):
You could look, you could go through a game and
pull up those plays and you can see the certain
plays happen like that during the course of a game
and it's not called. I just think it's interesting when
referees to when they're going to throw the flag on
certain plays and that impacted the game. One was a
touchdown came back, which they did it to Pittsburgh. They
(29:36):
did the same thing to Pittsburgh, so it was almost
like it was a give back call. You almost had
to write at that point. But then they just kept calling.
They just kept calling penalties.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
The amarized Saint Brown for sure pushed off like that
was OPM, but people pushed I mean that that was
pretty plain.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
It was.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
It was blatant, but but it was also absorbed, you know.
Jalen absorbed it and was trying to make played for
the ball.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Listen, yes you could call it.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
Do you call it in that scenario and it dictates
and decide the game? I mean, I don't know, man,
I felt like the referees dictated and decided that game,
and that's that kind of stem boned them.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Man boned them, boned, bonem boned, boom boned.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
I feel like this year, as much as we can
plan about the officials, you know, making calls that change
the outcome of games, I feel like more often than not,
they've actually probably held back from throwing more flags they
could have thrown. You can watch almost any pass play
(30:40):
and see the offensive lineman someone getting away with holding
that could be even even like a tight end or
running back at times, but it feels like that's out
there often. You could watch the defense on almost every
route and while look across the board, someone's trying to
get away with holding. It's just, you know, I kind
of the nature of the business and I think it
(31:02):
it has to be egregious enough and it has to
warrant the officials saying that that was that was a
penalty and it impacted this play. Like that's the bottom line.
If you get holding on the back side of an
outside run play to the right that's on the left
hand side, probably not calling it right, probably didn't have
much of an impact on the on the outcome of
(31:23):
that play. But that's how that's how I would look
at it, because there's there's plenty of times and I mean,
I'll be honest. We joked about it in our game,
like they got the number wrong of the player they
called the penalty on multiple times, Like we went back
and there they called a holding on Chris Linstrom, a
(31:44):
three time pro bowler, and when we and I knew
it was news by the way, because I was able
to see it before we put the replay up, and
they called it on Lindstrom and I'm like, there's no
way that's a holding, Like he did nothing in that
play that would be considered to hold. It was on
Ryan News of the center should have been. There was
another one they messed up the call, calling it on
(32:07):
a safety Taylor Demerson for the Cardinals, and it was
as boydant Es could be on Will Johnson who almost
tackled cal Pitts in the end zone on a corner
route that Cousins tried to throw them same thing, I mean.
And by the way, that's the difference of like number
forty two and zero. And so finally there's a penalty
at one point towards the end of the game. They
(32:29):
didn't even give a number. They're just like, yeah, it
was a pedaling on Arizona. It's like okay, Like it's
I think the the inconsistency from crew to crew, from
game to game is ridiculous, ridiculously bad. And I think
(32:49):
that's the most frustrating part of officiating right now. And
you know, as I prepare a call games Mike Praira,
Dean Blandino, they do a tremendous job of explaining the rules,
talking about what should have been called, what shouldn't have
been called. Dude, there are times when these videos go
for like twenty twenty five minutes and it's tough because
(33:10):
you know they're trying to pick out a variety of penalties,
but you could probably pick like the same thing over
and over and over again that all these different crews
are getting wrong. It's it's it's like the the worst
kept secret in the NFL in my opinion, of how
poor officiating is. And yet here we are, we're still
(33:30):
talking about the games. Everyone seems to gloss over it,
but coaches behind the scenes are irate and they're beside
themselves how bad it is.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Well, because their careers are on the line, and your
careers and the players for that, Yeah, your careers in
the hand of a it's like having a bad pilot,
you know, your careers in the hand of some guy
that you can't trust whether or not he's going to
land the plane. And they can't. You know, these guys
are are are blowing calls left and right. By the way,
you nearly called your shot on the Jake Matthews touchdown,
nearly called your shot, threw his hands, had an opportunity there, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
(34:03):
is there a Has there been a Matthews who hasn't
been good at football? Like I don't think so in
that family like that families. I was thinking about that
this morning. He's been in the league eleven years, twelve
years at this point, and same with his you know,
his uncle, his cousin. Like it just seems like that
(34:26):
family just produces good football players. Like he's started almost
two hundred games in his career and just continues to
to stay out there and almost had a touchdown yesterday.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
Your son's going to start that tradition for the Knox family. Man,
all right, I'm calling money for you.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
Oh yeah, yeah. Won't get it going, man, you think so? Yeah,
he's going to get it going.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
And what.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
In football or bat or baseball? It's going to be
football or.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
Baseball, probably baseball.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
Yeah, I mean he might end up being a QB man.
He rows that rock. I've seen it. Yeah, he does throw. Yeah,
what do I mean?
Speaker 3 (35:06):
Or he could be a kicker, and it.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
Could be a kicker.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
You know, what's that supposed to me? I mean, I'm
just you know, why would you why would you assume kicker?
That famous family that kicks from out here, what did
they call it? They played for the Uh No, No,
there's another family out here.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
They're they're older though, who are they there?
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Mexican kicked for Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
They are Mexican. What is their name?
Speaker 4 (35:32):
They had a restaurant out Uh where is it at
San Demis? I can't think of it.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
It's like row. I'm sorry, Jerry Jones, your thoughts Mexican?
Thank you?
Speaker 3 (35:54):
He was there, Yes, I mean, I'm just saying, I
don't know how tall your son's going to be.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
Man, you know you're not short. How tall are you?
Six one six two? Yeah? Something?
Speaker 3 (36:07):
No, there's no shot you're over six foot.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
I think you're like six four. No, he's not six four.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
LeVar when we stand next to him. Whenever you're you're
super tall, okay, by the NFL combine standards, I'm like
six three and seven eighths. If i'm six seven eights,
like six foot, maybe i'm.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
Six three three, Like, you can't be like hair taller
than me.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
I don't see that that's based on the combine. Man,
I don't make the rule.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
There's no way.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
Let's get to the point.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
The point is, isn't there he's like.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
Maybe just over six foot. Well, you also wear like
boots and different things to like heighten you.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
I'm wearing I'm wearing a pair of New Balance that
literally have the bottom falling off.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Yeah, like there's no boots here, buddy. You know what,
there's like flip flops.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
He was just some ultra boosts back in the day.
Apparently those I.
Speaker 2 (37:02):
Still got them. I still rock those things. His hair
is still done from doing a challenge too. But no,
it's definitely not. I weren't a Santa hat last night.
No ugly Christmas water.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
This whatever you put in your hair, dude, it's like cement,
it's leaving conditioner.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
No, right now, let's touched that thing. It's not let
me touch it.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
Just touch it.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
Chris. Oh, that's Jonas. Just talk about figure His head
felt pretty good.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
I mean, just talk about figure skating. Hey. By the way,
I was gonna ask you all every time I do
have to uh, every time I do have to go
out for a game. Now, I'm always like a you know,
I could go meet this coach out and grab a
drink ketch up. I'm like, man, I'm gonna stand it's
(37:54):
probably safer that way.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
Why this whole all these coaches popping up like why no?
Speaker 3 (38:03):
I just you know, it's like some that stills a
great spot.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
I catch it, Yeah, I got you got it.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
Oh, oh okay, I think you just yeah, it's probably
better to just to stay in Yeah, yeah, just better
better to do that. Or you could take the road
to Milan because it runs through Saint Louis see Ilia Malanin.

(41:02):
front office in the sort. Also with that as a
caveat here, they're set to retire Garnet's number twenty one
jersey sometime in the next two seasons.
Speaker 1 (41:11):
What do you think about that? I should right, Oh, yeah,
I'm surprised. He's an icon, he's a legend. He's already
got tired.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
Well, he had a I guess the old owner and
him didn't see eye to eye, and there's there's a
lot of back and forth. Our Lord and Savior scotch
Appiro probably knows better than I would because he's a
Minnesota Timberwolves fan.
Speaker 1 (41:34):
But they he was a Scot he was on the
outs with the organization. I got beef. I got I

Speaker 3 (42:09):

Rooms and show your fangs. Whuldn't necessary?

Speaker 4 (42:33):
How did we get to vampires and brackets and fangs
